The September 10th episode of WWE RAW aired live from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. In addition to the takeaways below, it was announced that Ziggler & McIntyre will defend their RAW Tag Team Championships against Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose at Hell in a Cell this Sunday night.

Here are 10 takeaways from this week’s show:

The Shield Protected Their Yard

RAW Tag Team Champions Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre made their way down to the entrance ramp to kick off this week’s episode of RAW. Braun Strowman and the heels from RAW’s locker room also came down to the ring.

Ziggler said that there is only one way to describe what they did to The Shield last week. Strowman stated they beat them down and feasted on their carcasses. McIntyre grabbed the microphone and rolled footage of the beatdown from last week.

Strowman claimed that the only reason Roman Reigns was still Universal Champion was that he is a coward and cannot handle business on his own. Strowman referred to the Superstars surrounding the ring as the “Dogs of War” and his pack.

McIntyre added that the balance of power has shifted and that they are now in control. Drew vowed to dismember the B-Team in their RAW Tag Team Championship rematch. Strowman said that Reigns is going to get these hands Sunday night at Hell in a Cell.

The Shield’s music hit and Roman, Ambrose and Rollins made their way through the crowd. A brawl broke out and Ambrose brought a few axehandles and the Shield started hitting everyone in sight. Strowman, Ziggler, and McIntyre retreated up the entrance ramp as The Shield’s music hit to end the segment.

RAW GM Corbin then told The Shield that they had to leave the building or Reigns and Rollins will have to forfeit their titles. The Shield put down their axehandles and left the building.

Nikki Bella Picked Up A Victory

Nikki Bella battled Ruby Riott tonight on RAW. Brie Bella, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan were ringside for the match. Ruby started off the match in control and leveled Nikki with a shoulder tackle.

Nikki battled back and drove Ruby to the corner of the ring. Nikki beatdown Riott in the corner but Ruby was able to counter and smash Nikki’s face off the turnbuckle. Ruby charged towards Nikki but Nikki connected with a Spear. Riott booted Nikki out of the ring and Brie started arguing with Liv and Sarah Logan as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Riott was in control and connected with a knee to Nikki’s ribs. Nikki battled back with a Spinebuster and both Superstars fell to the canvas. Nikki followed it up with a Clothesline and then a Dropkick to Ruby’s face.

Nikki caught Ruby with a kick to the face and went for a cover but Riott kicked out at two. Nikki punched Logan off the ring apron but Riott capitalized on the distraction and slammed Nikki face first into the mat for a two count. Brie took out Liv Morgan outside the ring and Nikki planted Ruby with the Rack Attack 2.0 for the pinfall victory.

Triple H Vowed To Put The Undertaker Down 

Triple H arrived at the arena as RAW went to a commercial break. When RAW returned, The Game made his way down to the ring to a great reaction from the crowd. Triple H showed a poll that said that 81% of the voters thought that The Undertaker is going to win.

Triple H brought up The Undertaker showing up last week to confront Shawn Michaels last week on RAW simply because he picked Triple H to win the match. Triple H claimed that The Undertaker went downhill after his series of matches with him and that his mystique has gone away.

He added that out of the respect that he has for The Undertaker, he will put him down for good at WWE Super Show-Down.

Ziggler & McIntyre Retained

Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre defended their RAW Tag Team Championships against The B-Team tonight on RAW. Ziggler and Axel started off the match and Curtis started off in control.

Axel got distracted by McIntyre on the ring apron and Ziggler laid him out with a Superkick. Drew tagged in and delivered a big boot to Axel’s face that sent him tumbling out of the ring as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Ziggler and McIntyre isolated Bo Dallas in the ring. Ziggler and McIntyre connected with the Claymore/Zig Zag on Bo for the pinfall victory. Ziggler and McIntyre are still the RAW Tag Team Champions.

After the match, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins sprinted to the ring and attacked Ziggler and McIntyre. Rollins went for The Stomp on Rollins but Drew dragged him out of the ring just in time. Dolph and Drew then retreated up the entrance ramp as Rollins and Ambrose posed in the ring.

Kevin Owens Blamed Lashley For Everything

Kevin Owens faced Tyler Breeze tonight on RAW. Owens attacked Breeze during his entrance and slammed him into the barricade. Owens brought Breeze back into the ring and Tyler hit him with an Enziguri. Owens battled back with a Superkick and then Powerbombed him onto the ring apron. Owens stood over Breeze and let out a scream as the referee checked on Tyler.

Owens grabbed a microphone and said that RAW GM Baron Corbin begged Owens to come back. Owens stated that Corbin recognizes his value as the true MVP of RAW. Owens added that he agreed to come back under one condition, he can do whatever the hell he wants.

Owens stated that he can do whatever he wants and that there is nothing anyone can do about it. Kevin called Lashley a sick maniac for injuring Sami Zayn and then claimed that he quit because of Lashley.

Owens added that his attack on Lashley last week was just the beginning and that RAW is still the Kevin Owens Show. Owens stated that on RAW you can now expect anarchy, agony, and destruction and that it is all Lashley’s fault.

Chad Gable & Bobby Roode Won Again

Bobby Roode and Chad Gable faced The Ascension tonight on RAW. Konnor got Gable in a Headlock to start off the match. Konnor then beatdown Gable in the corner of the ring before tagging in Viktor.

Viktor connected with a Clothesline and went for the cover but Gable was able to kick out at two. Viktor then applied a Headlock but Gable quickly broke free with a couple of jabs to Viktor’s midsection.

Gable then connected with a Back Body Drop and dove across the ring to tag in Roode. Bobby took out Viktor with a Clothesline and then knocked Konnor off the ring apron.

Roode followed it up with a Spinebuster to Viktor and set up for the Glorious DDT but Gable tagged himself in. Gable hit Viktor with a German Suplex for the pinfall victory. Gable and Roode celebrated after the match.

Rousey Tapped Out Mickie James 

Ronda Rousey & Natalya faced Alexa Bliss & Mickie James on this week’s episode of RAW. Natalya and Alexa started off the match by locking up in the middle of the ring. Natalya knocked Bliss to the canvas and then planted her with a Russian Leg Sweep for a two count.

Natalya followed it up with a Dropkick to Alexa’s face for another near fall. Rousey tagged in and Alexa immediately retreated and tagged in Mickie James. Rousey greeted Mickie with a Clothesline and then tagged Natalya back into the match.

Ronda and Natalya teamed up to Suplex Mickie for a two count. Mickie battled back and trapped Natalya in a Headlock in the center of the ring. Bliss tagged into the mat and whipped Natalya to the canvas by her hair. Alexa followed it up with a standing Moonsault for a two count.

Alexa then taunted Rousey and set up Natalya for an Arm Bar but Natalya countered into a roll-up for a near fall. Bliss knocked Natalya to the mat with a Clothesline then hit Ronda with a cheap shot on the apron. Ronda chased Alexa around the ring and then Natalya caught her in the ring. Natalya lifted Bliss up in the air as Rousey bounced off the ropes and then leveled Alexa with a Clothesline (Hart Attack).

RAW returned from a commercial break as Bliss was beating down Natalya in the corner of the ring. Alexa took a break to taunt Rousey and it cost her because Natalya was able to connect with a forearm to the face.

Rousey tagged in and Alexa immediately retreated out of the ring. Mickie distracted Rousey and Alexa capitalized by slamming Ronda into the barricade and then the ring apron several times. Back in the ring, Alexa went for the cover but Rousey kicked out at two.

Alexa bounced Rousey’s face off the top turnbuckle and then stomped on her a few times in the corner of the ring. Mickie tagged into the match and delivered a Dropkick to Ronda’s midsection for a near fall. Mickie then locked in a Headlock in the middle of the ring as Natalya got the crowd fired up on the ring apron.

Rousey broke the hold with an Arm Drag but Mickie quickly got back up and knocked Natalya off the ring apron. Rousey hit Mickie with a flurry of jabs and then knocked Bliss off the ring apron. Ronda beat the hell out of Mickie in the corner of the ring and then whipped her to the canvas several times.

Ronda pointed at Alexa outside the ring before applying the Arm Bar on Mickie for the submission victory. After the match, Bliss hit Rousey with a cheap shot as she celebrated with Natalya.

Mick Foley Will Be The Special Referee For The Universal Championship Match At WWE Hell In A Cell

Elias poked fun at the Saints losing this week and the crowd responded with a “Who Dat?!” chant. Elias stated that Drew Brees told him that he was sick of representing this filthy city and that he just wants the season to be over.

Mick Foley interrupted as Elias was about to perform a song and made his way down to the ring. The crowd chanted “Foley” as Mick apologized to Elias for the interruption. Foley complimented Elias and said that he admired his craftsmanship. Foley said that as a lyricist, Elias doesn’t have a sincere bone in his body.

Elias said that he knows Foley is out here to talk about the 20th anniversary of his Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker. Elias said that he was in the arena that night when Foley was launched off the cell and through the table. Elias added that that was then and this was now. Elias said that he was standing in the ring now with a broken man who is singing the same sad song that he has been singing for the past twenty years.

Foley stated that he came here to address the future and Elias interrupted and said that he was the future. Foley stated that he spoke to Stephanie McMahon and announced that he will be the special referee for the Universal Championship match between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman.

Elias stopped Foley as he was about to the leave the ring and said that he had some advice for Foley. His advice was to shut up and go back to the locker room. Foley got pissed off and said that Stephanie McMahon also allowed him to make one match tonight for old time’s sake. Foley announced that Elias will face Finn Balor next.

Balor Defeated Elias

Elias squared off against Finn Balor on this week’s episode of RAW. Elias started off the match in control and leveled Balor with a shoulder tackle to start off the match. Elias applied a Headlock but Balor quickly escaped and connected with a Dropkick.

Finn hit Elias with a few chops to the chest but Elias shrugged them off and launched Balor into the turnbuckle. Balor battled back with a Dropkick and then a Double Stomp to Elias’ midsection. Balor followed it up with a Slingblade and then went for another one but Elias countered with a knee to the face as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Elias was still in control of the match. Elias slammed Balor into the turnbuckle and then lifted him up onto his shoulders. Balor escaped and hit a Slingblade for a two count. Elias battled back with a Powerbomb and went for the cover but Finn was able to kick out at the last second.

Elias perched Balor up on the top rope and delivered a chop to his chest. Balor knocked Elias to the canvas with a headbutt and went for the Coup de Grace but Elias rolled out of the way. Elias went for Drift Away but Balor countered with a roll-up for the pinfall victory.

Roman Reigns Slammed Braun Strowman Through The Stage

Braun Strowman spent the majority of RAW walking around backstage looking for Roman Reigns. At the end of the show, Strowman made his way down to the ring and called out Roman Reigns.

Strowman said that he was sick of waiting and demanded that Roman come down to the ring and face him like a man. Reigns didn’t come down to the ring and Strowman called him a coward.

Braun threatened special referee Mick Foley and said that he will destroy him at Hell in a Cell. Strowman vowed to take the Universal Championship this Sunday night and send Roman Reigns to hell.

Reigns’ music hit and Strowman marched up the entrance ramp. Reigns greeted Braun with a Superman Punch and the two started trading shots. Braun slammed Roman into the screens on the entrance ramp and then knocked him down with a headbutt.

Strowman cleared off the announce table and punched Reigns until he fell on top of it. Braun set up for a Powerbomb but Reigns countered into a Samoan Drop through the stage. Roman emerged and raised the Universal Championship as RAW went off the air.
