After the major milestone episode of WWE SmackDown 1000 went off the air, there was a title match that took place. Becky Lynch successfully retained the WWE SmackDown Women’s Title over Charlotte Flair in a dark match.
As seen on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, which was the 1000th edition, in Washington, DC at the Capital One Arena on the USA Network, Lynch and Flair made an appearance when Edge hosted his “Cutting Edge” segment, which is a talk show, that had Lynch as his special guest.
During the segment, the WWE Hall of Famer spoke about how Lynch’s attitude is wrong and has concerns about her treatment of Flair. This led to Lynch mocking him for his words.
Flair would then come out to the ring where she confronted the champion and a brawl broke out until several referees came out to break it up. It should be noted that no women’s matches were televised on the show.
