A big match is currently being discussed by WWE officials for their second biggest pay-per-view event of the year, SummerSlam.
Although WWE finds themselves in the busiest time of the year, WrestleMania season, the company is already looking ahead and planting seeds for a potential big match.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that a match between Becky Lynch and Stephanie McMahon has been suggested for the show. The longtime pro wrestling journalist added that the match “is most definitely not a done deal” while a second source in the company told him that it is being discussed.
The storyline involving Lynch against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H all started after on this week’s WWE TV events. First up was Monday’s episode of RAW where Lynch was “medically suspended” by Stephanie, who was later attacked by SmackDown star. Then, on Tuesday’s SmackDown Live, Lynch had an exchange with HHH to start off the show and later slapped him.
Lynch is scheduled to challenge WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey for the title at WrestleMania 34 in April.
This year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event takes place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the Scotiabank Arena on August 11, 2019.
