WWE Money in the Bank aired live from the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Roman Reigns put the Universal Championship on the line against Edge. Bobby Lashley defended the WWE Championship against Kofi Kingston. Both the RAW Women’s and RAW Tag Team Championships were defended tonight as well as two MITB Ladder matches. The Usos became the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions by defeating The Mysterios in the Kickoff Show.

Here are the takeaways from this week’s PPV:

Nikki A.S.H. Won The MITB Contract

Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Nikki ASH, Natalya, Tamina, Zelina Vega, Naomi, Asuka competed in the Women’s MITB Ladder Match to begin the PPV. Everyone got out of the ring and went for ladders as Alexa Bliss stood alone on the turnbuckle. Bliss hopped down and started skipping around in the ring under the briefcase. Asuka sent her out of the ring with a Dropkick and the action began.

Nikki planted Natalya with a DDT but turned around into a Clothesline from Tamina. Tamina followed it up with a shoulder tackle to Bliss. Tamina bashed Alexa’s face into a ladder and rolled her out of the ring. Tamina sent Liv and Zelina to the corner and hit both superstars with a Splash.

Asuka and Tamina traded punches in the ring. Asuka elbowed Tamina in the face and delivered a Hip Attack to Natalya on the apron. The Empress of Tomorrow followed it up with a Dropkick to Tamina and then bashed the ladder into her throat before starting to climb. Tamina tried to lift the ladder but Liv prevented it and sent Asuka out of the ring. Liv climbed but Natalya shoved the ladder over.

Liv and Natalya played tug of war with a ladder in the middle of the ring before deciding to work together and bashed Nikki in the midsection with it. Zelina hit Tamina with a Hurricanrana and Asuka quickly hit Tamina with a Hip Attack that send her into the barricade.

Alexa laughed at Natalya and tripped her onto a ladder. Bliss hit Liv with a Senton and set up the ladder. Vega joined her and Alexa apparently hypnotized her. Alexa made Vega climb down but thankfully that wasn’t the finish. Bliss got sent out of the ring and Liv Suplexed Vega onto a ladder. Natalya then connected with a Powerbomb that slammed Liv onto the ladder.

Naomi cleared the ring before hitting a Powerslam and a Leg Drop on Nicki. Natalya started climbing but Zelina stopped her with a Sleeper Hold. Natalya kept climbing but faded at the top of the Ladder but Liv dragged them down in a rough sequence. A brawl broke out as Nikki climbed to the top of ladder outside the ring. Nicki hit a Splash onto everyone and set up a ladder.

Alexa stopped her and hit Sister Abigail. Bliss started to climb but the tag champs stopped her. Natalya and Tamina threw Bliss to the outside and into the barricade with a ladder. They then buried her under a bunch of ladders outside the ring. Liv started climbing but Tamina grabbed her. Liv hit a Hurricanrana that sent Tamina to the corner but Natalya attacked her from behind.

Morgan bashed Natalya’s face into the ladder and did the same to Vega. Liv dodged a Hip Attack and slammed Asuka to the canvas. Morgan and Naomi started climbing. Everyone besides Bliss & Nikki climbed the ladders and battled over the briefcase. Nikki ASH came out of nowhere and grabbed the briefcase as everyone was trading punches to win the match.

AJ Styles & Omos Retained

AJ Styles & Omos put the RAW Tag Team Championships on the line against the Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar). Viking Raiders dominated early and isolated AJ Styles in the ring. Ivar hit a Crossbody and went for the cover but AJ kicked out at two.

Omos tagged in grabbed Ivar by the throat. Omos transitioned into a Body Slam on Ivar in the middle of the ring. Omos beat Ivar down and tagged AJ back in. AJ got his ass kicked again for a few minutes before finally hitting Ivar with a Pele Kick.

Omos tagged in and slammed Ivar down to the mat. Omos missed with a Splash and Erik tagged in. Erik caught Omos with an elbow to the face and followed it up with a running knee. Ivar Clotheslined Omos out of the ring and Erik leaped onto him.

Styles connected with an Enziguri but turned around into the Viking Experience. Omos broke up the cover and tagged back in. Omos Powerbombed Erik to the mat for the pinfall victory. AJ Styles & Omos are still RAW Tag Team Champions.

Bobby Lashley Retained In Dominant Fashion

Bobby Lashley defended the WWE Championship against Kofi Kingston tonight. Kingston got in some offense early and hit a Double Stomp off the top rope. Lashley fought back and spent the next several minutes manhandling Kingston. Bobby slammed Kingston off the ring post a couple times before returning to the ring.

Lashley slammed Kingston to the mat and high fived MVP. Bobby posed for the crowd as Kofi struggled to his feet. Lashley applied the Hurt Lock in the middle of the ring hut Kingston escaped. Bobby launched Kingston across the ring with a Fallaway Slam. Lashley unloaded several more punches before planting Kingston with the Dominator. Bobby hit Kofi with two more Dominators and shushed the crowd. Lashley applied the Hurt Lock and the referee finally called for the bell.

Charlotte Is The New RAW Women’s Champion

Rhea Ripley defended the RAW Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair tonight at the PPV. Ripley and Charlotte locked up to start off the action. Rhea sent Flair to the apron and hit her with a Double Stomp. Ripley Dropkicked Charlotte to the outside and charged at her. Flair avoided the champ and sent Ripley into the barricade with a Dropkick of her own.

Back in the ring, Flair sent Ripley into the turnbuckle with an Exploder Suplex. Charlotte applied a Headlock in the middle of the ring but Rhea battled to her feet. Charlotte knocked her back down with a kick to the face. Flair elbowed Ripley in the face and the champ responded by launching Charlotte out of the ring. Ripley followed it up with a Senton off the steps before the action returned to the ring.

Ripley connected with a Dropkick and a kick to Flair’s face. Rhea hit a Northern Lights Suplex but Flair kicked out at two. Charlotte went for a Back Body Drop but Rhea landed on her feet and connected with a powerful German Suplex. Ripley climbed to the top rope and went for a Dropkick but Flair avoided it.

Flair locked in a Boston Crab but Ripley countered into a cover for a near fall. Flair hit a big boot to the face for another two count. Charlotte went for a Moonsault but Ripley tripped her up on the turnbuckle. Ripley hit a Suplex and went for the cover but Flair was able to kick out at two.

Rhea unloaded some chops but Charlotte shrugged them off. Charlotte whipped Rhea to the corner and she wound up tumbling to the outside. Flair booted her back to the floor and climbed to the top rope. Charlotte connected with a Moonsault and rolled Rhea back into the ring.

Charlotte went for Natural Selection but Rhea blocked it. Ripley applied a Cloverleaf submission in the middle of the ring but Charlotte countered into a cover for a two count. Rhea went for Riptide but Charlotte countered again into a DDT for another near fall.

Flair and Ripley traded punches and chops in the middle of the ring. Charlotte hit an elbow to the face and tried to use the ropes during the pin but the referee caught her. Charlotte got in the referee’s face but backed away. Ripley slammed Charlotte into the turnbuckle and perched her up on the top rope.

Ripley unloaded some more strikes and joined Charlotte on the turnbuckle. Rhea went for a Superplex but Flair blocked it. Charlotte then leaped off the turnbuckle and hit Natural Selection but somehow Ripley kicked out at two. Flair couldn’t believe it and shook her head.

Charlotte fired herself up and went for a Figure Four but Ripley countered by sending Flair to the corner. Charlotte stuck Rhea’s leg in the steel steps and unloaded several kicks. Flair applied the Figure Eight for the submission victory. Charlotte Flair is the new RAW Women’s Champion.

Big E Won The MITB Contract

Before the men’s MITB match, Riddle and Owens had a conversation backstage that was unwatchable to fans due to issues with WWE Network on Peacock. The horrific streaming experience continued during the entrances until it was eventually resolved. Kevin Owens, Ricochet, John Morrison, Drew McIntyre, Riddle, Big E, Seth Rollins, Shinsuke Nakamura battled in the men’s MITB Ladder match,

Ricochet went for a Crossbody but McIntyre launched him out of the ring. Big E cleared the ring and locked up with McIntyre. Big E hit Drew with a Spear through the ropes and the two superstars crashed to the floor. Nakamura hit an Exploder Suplex that sent Owens onto a ladder.

Morrison climbed a ladder and flipped onto Nakamura. John climbed the ladder but Nakamura got him in an Armbar on the ladder. Rollins broke it up with a knee to the face and stomped him to the mat. Seth and John teamed up and hit everyone with a ladder as they tried to get into the ring.

Morrison slammed Riddle onto the ladder as Rollins laughed. Ricochet got back into the ring and unloaded some chops. Rollins and Morrison slammed Ricochet on a ladder with a Back Body Drop. Owens dragged Rollins out of the ring but Morrison broke it up.

John leveled Owens with a Shining Wizard and set up a ladder from the apron to the announce table. Owens hit a springboard Moonsault onto Morrison and Rollins. Seth responded with a Falcon Arrow that slammed Owens’ spine onto the steel ladder. McIntyre got back into the ring and hit Rollins and Morrison with some chops.

McIntyre stomped Morrison to the canvas but the numbers game caught up to him. Morrison and Rollins put McIntyre on a ladder and John hit an Elbow Drop. Rollins hit McIntyre with a ladder and then bashed Morrison in the face. Rollins started climbing but Riddle dropped him with an RKO out of nowhere!

Riddle and Shinsuke traded strikes in the ring but turned around into a double Claymore. McIntyre followed it up with a Future Shock DDT to Big E and an Alabama Slam onto a ladder to Ricochet. Drew then sprinted across the ring and flipped onto everyone to a mixed reaction from the crowd.

Drew hit Seth with the Glasgow kiss and then a Claymore before setting up the ladder. McIntyre started climbing but Veer & Shanky interfered. Mahal joined in on the attack and beat McIntyre down with several chair shots. Veer & Shanky then dragged McIntyre backstage as Riddle started climbing.

Ricochet leaped onto the ladder and knocked Riddle to the floor. Riddle shoved the ladder over but Ricochet incredibly springboarded off the top rope into a flip onto the superstars outside the ring. Riddle planted Big E and then Ricochet with a couple RKOs. Rollins hit Riddle with a Stomp but turned around into a GTS from Nakamura.

Shinsuke started climbing the ladder as Morrison climbed up the other side. Morrison hit Nakamura with the drip stick but Owens took him out with a Stunner. Owens hit Nakamura with a Stunner and then a Pop-Up Powerbomb to Ricochet. Owens went for the briefcase but Seth attacked the bad knee. Rollins then Powerbombed Owens through the ladder set up between the table and the ring apron as the crowd chanted “holy sh*t!”.

Rollins set up the giant ladder under the briefcase and started climbing. Big E stopped him with a massive Big Ending off the top of the ladder. Big E started climbing and grabbed the briefcase to win the match. Big E got a great reaction from the crowd.

Seth Rollins was interviewed backstage and flipped out after the match. Rollins claimed he should have been in the Universal Championship but Edge stole it from him. Rollins shouted that he is next in line for whoever wins the Universal Championship match.

Seth Rollins Helped Roman Reigns Retain & John Cena Returned

Roman Reigns defended the Universal Championship against WWE Hall of Famer Edge in the main event. Paul Heyman accompanied Roman Reigns to the ring. Edge and Reigns talked some trash after the bell rang as dueling “lets go Roman!” and “lets go Edge!” chants broke out.

Reigns and Edge locked up in the middle of the ring to start the action. Roman shoved Edge to the corner and backed away. The two superstars locked up again and this time Edge shoved Reigns to the corner and slapped him in the face.

Edge and Reigns locked up again in the middle of the ring. Edge brought Reigns to the mat and taunted him. Roman hit a shoulder tackle and then a big right hand to the face. Reigns beat Edge down in the corner but Edge battled back. Edge focused his attack on Reigns’ shoulder/arm and slammed him into the ring post a couple times.

Roman rolled out of the ring to regroup. Heyman Reigns to get back into the ring as his father Sika would have done. Roman obliged but Edge sent him back to the outside. Edge followed him and Reigns caught him with a Samoan Drop on the floor. Referee Charles Robinson started counting and Edge made it back in the ring at the last second.

Reigns continued to dominate Edge for the next couple minutes and bounced his face off the steel steps as the crowd booed. Roman launched Edge into the ring post as a light “Roman sucks!” chant broke out. Reigns sent Edge into the opposite ring post and posed in the ring to a chorus of boos.

Roman connected with a Suplex and went for the cover but Edge kicked out at two. Reigns applied a Headlock and taunted the crowd while doing so. Edge escaped but Roman dropped him with an uppercut. Roman followed it up with a Drive-By for another two count.

Edge slowly made his way to his feet and countered a Superman Punch into a backslide for a two count. Reigns and Edge then collided and both superstars fell to the canvas. Edge battled back and connected with a big Clothesline and then the Edgecution for a near fall.

Edge tied up Reigns in the Tree of Woe and unloaded some stomps. Reigns fell to the mat as Edge fired up the crowd. Edge applied an STF in the middle of the ring but Roman was able to get to the bottom rope to break the hold. Edge went for a Spear but Roman blocked it.

Reigns locked in the Guillotine choke in the middle of the ring. Edge was able to break the hold by dragging himself and Roman to the outside. Roman went for a Spear but Edge leaped out of the way and the Universal Champion crashed through the barricade.

Edge then delivered a Spear of his own that sent Roman through the barricade again. Edge lifted Reigns in a Fireman’s Carry and brought him back to the ring. Edge went for the cover but Reigns kicked out at two. Reigns hit a Superman Punch but Edge fell onto referee Charles Robinson.

Roman broke off a piece of the steel chair and got back in the ring. Reigns went for the STF with the steel but Edge broke free with a bunch of headbutts. Edge then applied the STF with the steel across Roman’s face. The Usos started to head to the ring but Dominik and Rey attacked them.

Seth Rollins slid into the ring and hit Edge with a kick to the back of the neck. Rollins rolled out of the ring and made his way backstage. Reigns went for a Spear but Edge countered with one of his own. A referee ran to the ring for the count but Roman powered out at two.

The crowd chanted “this is awesome!” as Edge stumbled to the corner. Rollins hopped on the ring apron again and Edge hit him with a boot to the face. Reigns capitalized on the distraction and leveled Edge with a Spear for the pinfall victory. Roman Reigns is still the Universal Champion.

After the match, Seth Rollins attacked Edge again and stared at Roman Reigns. Seth told Reigns that he wouldn’t be champ if it wasn’t for him. Edge and Rollins then brawled into the crowd and Roman asked for a microphone. Reigns stated that the whole world can acknowledge him now. John Cena’s theme then hit and the crowd went insane. Cena walked towards Reigns and did “you can’t see me” before posing for the crowd to close the show.
