Las Vegas Secured WrestleMania 41 in Record Time

WrestleMania, WWE’s biggest annual event, is making its long-awaited return to Las Vegas for the first time since 1993’s WrestleMania IX, which was held at Caesars Palace. That event is remembered for its unique outdoor setting and the controversial conclusion where Hulk Hogan won the WWE Championship from Yokozuna mere moments after Bret Hart failed to do so.

This year’s WrestleMania 41 promises to deliver even more spectacle, taking place over two nights at Allegiant Stadium in 2025. WWE President Nick Khan and Steve Hill, Chief Executive Officer and President of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), revealed the behind-the-scenes details of the decision during a fireside chat at Preview Las Vegas on January 16. The discussion covered how quickly the deal materialized, WWE’s international growth strategy, and Khan’s personal ties to Las Vegas.

How the Deal Came Together in Record Time

Nick Khan shared that the idea to bring WrestleMania 41 to Las Vegas was sparked during the city’s hosting of the Super Bowl. Impressed by how grand the event felt, Khan approached the LVCVA about hosting WrestleMania in 2025. Remarkably, a deal was in motion within hours.

“We were here for the Super Bowl—all of us. Anyone who was in Las Vegas at that time saw how big it was and how big it felt,” said Khan. “I called and said, ‘You know, that was big, and I think it exceeded our high expectations.’ I realized we weren’t yet locked in for WrestleMania 2025. So I asked, ‘What do you guys think about doing it in Vegas?’”

According to Khan, the LVCVA responded enthusiastically.

“They said, ‘Give us a day, and we’ll get back to you.’ Probably two hours later, they called back and said they had spoken with Steve Hill, who wanted to meet. ‘Can you bring the team to town so we can all get in a room together?’”

Khan credited the efficiency of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority for the rapid progress. “There’s no bureaucracy with the LVCVA that we’ve experienced. It was clear they wanted this. They primarily put the deal together quickly, and boom—here we are. It’s been a great experience. We always say the result matters. But the process matters just as much, and this process has been A+—thanks to you,” he added, directly addressing Hill.

Paris to Host a WWE Premium Live Event in 2025

During the fireside chat, the conversation also touched on WWE’s broader growth plans. Nick Khan announced that WWE would host another Premium Live Event in Paris this year, a move that reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to expand its presence in international markets.

The Preview Las Vegas discussion also highlighted Khan’s personal connection to the city. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Khan emphasized how significant it is for him to bring WWE’s marquee event to his hometown. WrestleMania 41 will cement Las Vegas as a premier destination for WWE and further elevate Allegiant Stadium’s reputation as a top venue for global events.
