In a stylish social media reveal, Karyn Best has announced her WWE persona as “Summer Sorrell,” accompanied by professional photos and Jay-Z’s iconic line “Allow me to reintroduce myself.”
The announcement marks the latest milestone in Best’s transition from track and field star to WWE-contracted professional wrestler. She’s set to be featured on the new WWE Evolve series, coming to Tubi starting March 5.
Before joining WWE, Best dominated high school track and field, setting 16 school records and collecting multiple titles including a state championship in the 300-meter hurdles and two USATF Youth National Championships in the 400-meter hurdles. She continued her athletic career at Cal State Fullerton, competing in events including the 60-meter hurdles and 400-meter dash.
Best’s journey to WWE began at tryouts during SummerSlam weekend in August 2024, leading to her joining the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida as part of the company’s new recruitment class.
The newly-minted Summer Sorrell is engaged to fellow WWE performer, Kale Dixon.
