Michael Cole’s dedication to WWE is legendary, but on Impaulsive, he revealed just how rare it is for him to miss a show—only three times in 28 years.
“The first was in 2001 when my wife had a kidney transplant,” Cole said. “The second was my son’s wedding, and the third? A family vacation last year—our first real one in decades.”
One of those absences came under extraordinary circumstances. Cole’s wife was originally scheduled for surgery on September 11, 2001.
“We were in the hospital that morning when everything happened,” he recalled. “Obviously, everything shut down, and her procedure got delayed by three weeks.”
Despite his near-perfect attendance record, Cole’s family has never pressured him to step back.
“My wife’s always known me as a guy who travels. She’s been with me through all of it.”
The longtime announcer also credits his marriage’s longevity—30 years and counting—to his frequent travel.
“That’s why we’re still together,” he joked. “When I am home, I’m not trying to start arguments. Those days are too valuable.”
His dedication to WWE remains unwavering.
“I love this business. I signed a new contract, and I’ll be here for a while. I don’t know how to do anything else!”
With nearly three decades under his belt, Michael Cole’s commitment to WWE is unmatched.
