WWE surprised everyone yesterday by announcing that they are
releasing several stars such as Sin Cara who had asked to be let go from the
company.
Among the released stars was also the former Wyatt Family
member Luke Harper who had asked to be released back in May but the company had
declined his request.
Harper’s former Tag Team partner and fellow former Wyatt Family member Erick Rowan reacted to this news recently and he the posted the following photo on Instagram, saying that it was an honor to be around these stars:
WWE announced yesterday that several members of nWo and the former World Champion Batista will all be inducted into the Hall Of Fame class of 2020.
Randy Orton who knows Batista up and close since their time in FCW and then in the main roster as part of Evolution was interviewed backstage at this week’s Raw and he was asked about the former Champion’s induction.
Replying to the question, The Viper recalled how Batista was the first guy he ran in to when he first reported to development. Orton went on to say that it’s a great news and he can’t wait to hear his speech:
AEW has announced two new additions to their Women’s division with the signing of Big Swole and Kris Statlander. The company revealed the news via a couple of posts from their Twitter account. Both these stars have previously made appearances for the company.
Big Swole is All Elite
Big Swole first made her AEW debut during the All Out event back in August. She competed in the Casino Battle Royal during the show and has made several AEW Dark appearances recently.
Swole has also made several appearances for WWE in the past. The female star who is married to WWE’s Cedric Alexander competed as an enhancement talent in a match against Nia Jax during a Raw episode in 2016.
She competed in the second Mae Young Classic tournament in 2018 as well, where she battled against Zeuxis in the first round of the tournament in a losing effort.
Statlander, on the other hand, made her first AEW appearance during the November 13th taping of AEW Dark and she has made a couple of Dynamite appearances since then.
The new AEW star made her pro wrestling debut in 2017 and she has been working in the independent circuit ever since.
She also made a SmackDown appearance earlier this year where she competed in a tag team match and got squashed by the then-WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The IIconics.
Batista was announced as the first inductee for the Hall Of Fame class of 2020 yesterday and this announcement was followed by another one, confirming the induction of nWo as well.
Since the tradition calls for it, a lot of people have been
wondering who will be the inductor for these legends since the news came out,
and now at least the Animal has revealed who he has chosen for the role.
Batista recently replied to a tweet about the possible Hall
Of Fame inductors for him which mentioned people like Triple H and Randy Orton.
However, replying to the post, the former World Champion revealed that for personal reasons, he has asked former WWE wrestler and current producer Fit Finlay to induct him:
Batista wrestled his final match at WrestleMania 35 this
year where he competed against fellow former Evolution member Triple H in a No
Holds Barred match.
The two had teased tension during the SmackDown’s 1000th
episode and they went on set up the match during a Raw episode in March with
Triple H putting his career on the line.
Batista ended up losing the bout due to interference from
Ric Flair who he had attacked earlier. Batista announced his retirement from
professional wrestling afterwards.
Cody Rhodes recently had an interview with DallasNews.com where he talked about things like why AEW is not holding Live Events. He also explained his decision to move away from the AEW World Title picture and revealed the reason behind it.
Rhodes first discussed his brother Dustin Rhodes joining him in AEW and mentioned how Dustin has dived right into the coach side of things since joining the promotion.
Talking about his decision to move away from the World title
picture, Cody claimed that it was solely his decision and he chose to do so
because he didn’t want to face the same criticism as his father:
“It was solely my decision. Tony was not a fan of it, but he understood why I wanted to do it. And I heard both sides of the argument. I don’t want to face any of the criticisms or any of the asterisks that my dad [Dusty Rhodes] faced because they weren’t fair to his legacy.”
Explaining his reasoning behind the move, the American Nightmare said that his father received criticism for being the top star during his time in the Jim Crockett Promotions while also being a booker and he wanted to take a different path:
“When he was with [Jim Crockett Promotions], he made
everybody at Crockett rich. Him and Ric Flair were the top stars. When you’re
the top stars, they’re what the people wanted to see. But they all received
that criticism later on, the political aspect of it. I figured I would just
take a different path.”
Cody Rhodes challenged Chris Jericho for the AEW World
Championship at the Full Gear PPV and he had announced that he won’t challenge for
the title again if he lost the bout.
During the PPV, MJF throwed the towel on behalf of Cody to end the match. However, he then proceeded to attack Rhodes, effectively ending his alliance with the former ROH Champion.
Lisa Marie Varon, better known to WWE fans by her ring name in the company, Victoria, recently had an interview with Lilian Garcia on her Chasing Glory podcast where she talked about her time in WWE and more in detail.
The former Women’s Champion stayed in the company for almost a decade and she had a successful career in the promotion, though she still had a couple of years left in her contract when she asked for her release from the company.
Talking about the reason why she decided to leave the promotion, the former Champion recalled how fans had stopped believing in her character because she was always losing and said that she wanted to leave still happy and loving what she did:
“I still loved the business and I didn’t want to be the
bitter vet who starts crapping on the company. I wanted to leave still happy
and loving what I did.”
Victoria then explained how she talked to WWE higher-ups after making the decision. Vince McMahon asked her if there was anything they can do and the former WWE star asked for one final match against Michelle McCool.
Victoria began her professional wrestling training in June 2000 and was signed by WWE shortly after. She stayed with the company for almost a decade and won the Women’s Championship twice before leaving the promotion in January 2009.
She joined TNA after leaving the company where she had a 4 years long run. She also made appearances for ROH after leaving the promotion now known as Impact Wrestling. Varon announced her retirement from pro wrestling earlier this year.
WWE announced the first few matches for the upcoming TLC PPV
this week but despite the fact that there is less than a week remaining to the
show, the match card for the event is far from being full.
Dave Meltzer talked about the show on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio and revealed some matches which are expected to be added to the event.
According to Meltzer, after their interaction on the latest episode of SmackDown, a match between Lacey Evans and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley is planned for the show.
Not only this but Randy Orton and AJ Styles are also expected to meet at the event, after the former delivered an RKO to the Phenomenal One on the latest episode of Raw.
Since Styles has been announced to challenge Rey Mysterio for the United States Championship on Raw this Monday, it won’t be a surprise if the Viper interferes in this bout.
Apart from this, Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens, Aleister Black vs. Buddy Murphy and RAW Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson are matches which are expected to take place at the show.
All these bouts will be in addition to the already announced
matches like Bray Wyatt vs. The Miz, Baron Corbin vs. Roman Reigns and the New
Day vs. The Revival.
The TLC PPV will take place on Sunday, December 15, 2019 from Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Enzo Amore is one of the key figures in the story of Neville’s WWE departure and many believe that it was his feud with the Realest Guy In The Room that led to the former Cruiserweight Champion quitting the company.
However during his recent appearance on Talk Is Jericho, Amore talked about Neville’s departure from the promotion, He said that backstage, he was best friends with the former NXT Champion and indicated that their feud wasn’t the reason why he left.
Enzo explained that the star now known as Pac was burnt out and he didn’t want to be moved to the main roster. He then went on to claim that he actually talked to Neville, the day he walked out of the company:
“That day Neville didn’t show up to work, so he called
me. When he wasn’t going to the main roster, he just didn’t show up to RAW. And
I was the only one talking to him that day, so I knew he wasn’t there and I get
the script handed to me. Enzo and Neville in the main event of Monday Night
RAW. Neville’s not even there.”
Neville dropped the Cruiserweight title to Enzo Amore in September 2017 and he walked out of WWE before the October 9th episode of Raw a few days later. The company froze his contract afterward and he was finally released in August the next year.
It was said that the former Champion had been unhappy with his position in the promotion for some time. He walked out of Raw after learning that he was scheduled to lose to Enzo Amore once again in a singles match during the show.
Jon Moxley has been very vocal about the lack of creative
control in WWE since leaving the company and his Talk Is Jericho interview is
just one example of it.
The former WWE Champion recently had an interview with State of Combat podcast where he talked about a number of things and explained the level of creative freedom he has in his new home, AEW.
Mox first explained that the creative process in AEW is a
collaborative effort and he then went on to reveal that he has full creative
control:
“Pretty much it’s a collaborative effort. There are so
many great ideas that come in. I’m hearing really good ideas. I have full
control in that I am not going to go out there and do anything that makes me
look stupid, at least not on purpose, which is a giant weight off of my
shoulders,”
The former Dean Ambrose went on to explain that there are no higher-ups they have to make sure to please in AEW and instead there are super creative guys who don’t give a damn about what anyone thinks and they have no fear of reprisals.
Apart from this Jon Moxley also talked about his Full Gear
lights out match with Kenny Omega which many believed was too violent for
mainstream wrestling.
The former Champion said that he was thrilled with the bout and he recalled thinking how far they were going to take it, the night before the event.
After Sin Cara and Luke Harper, The Ascension has joined the list of WWE stars who have been released from their contract by the company in the last few hours.
The promotion originally announced the release of Sin Cara through a short statement on their website. They have been adding more names to the post since then and the latest ones to join the list are the former NXT stars Konnor and Viktor:
“WWE has come to terms on the releases of Jonathan
Huber (Luke Harper), Sin Cara and Ryan Parmeter (Konnor) and Eric Thompson
(Viktor) of The Ascension. WWE wishes them all the best in their future
endeavors.”
The Ascension originally started as a stable in FCW and consisted members such as Kenneth Cameron, Conor O’Brian, Tito Colon, and Raquel Diaz.
The group disbanded before the territory was repackaged as NXT. After the inception of the Black and Yellow brand, Conor O’Brian was joined by Rick Victor and these two then started using the darker gimmick of the stable.
They went on to dominate the NXT tag team division during their time in the development territory and their 364-days long reign with the NXT Tag Team Championship is still the longest in the history of the title.
However, they were repackaged as Konnor and Viktor before their main roster callup and The Ascension adopted a look similar to the Road Warriors on their main roster debut. They had mostly been working as jobbers since their call up in 2014.
The company released a short statement on the matter this morning revealing that they have come to the terms on the release of the former MLW World Middleweight Champion:
”Major League Wrestling has come to terms on the release of
Teddy Hart.”
Hart started his wrestling career in 1995 and he was signed by WWE 3 years later, making him the youngest star to have ever signed with them at the age of 18.
Though he was released from the promotion in 2002 without making any significant impact and it was noted that the former WWE star was released from the organization due to his attitude problems.
Since then, he has wrestled for a number of well-known
promotions including his stints with companies such as Ring Of Honor, Total
Nonstop Action and AAA.
He made several appearances for MLW in 2004. Hart returned to the promotion in 2017 and became one of the company’s regular stars as the leader of the New Era Hart Foundation with cousin Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Brian Pillman Jr.
Teddy Hart last wrestled for MLW on TV during the November 9th episode of Fusion where he competed in a match against Myron Reed and dropped the MLW Middleweight Championship to him.
Hulk Hogan has been very vocal about wanting a retirement match in WWE ever since his reinstatement into the Hall Of Fame and many have been wondering if he could be thinking about wrestling a match at next year’s WrestleMania.
During his recent interview with Pancakes and Powerslams podcast, former SmackDown Executive Director Eric Bischoff talked about a number of things and he also revealed his thoughts on Hogan possibly wrestling at the Show of Shows.
The former WCW President first joked that the WWE Universe will like to see a match between Hogan and Undertaker and he then said that it’s hard for him to imagine this:
“God bless him, if that’s what he wants to do and he’s able to make that happen, I’d be the second happiest person in Florida that night. But it’s hard for me to imagine that he’ll be able to get ready for something like that. But who knows? He’s done it before.”
Hulk Hogan On Possibly Having One More Match
Hulk Hogan has been talking about possibly wrestling one more match in WWE for a while now and just recently, he had revealed that he talked to Vince McMahon about the same.
The Hulkster claimed that he doesn’t know if he could live with himself knowing that his last match was with TNA and he prays that he can fix it by having a match in WWE:
“I talked to Vince, and I said I really don’t know if I could live with myself knowing my last match was with TNA, If I can get fixed, I pray I can have one more match. I told Vince, ‘When I get through this back surgery, I’m going to get in the best shape of my life and we’re going to talk about me having one last retirement match.’ “
Hulk underwent the back surgery he mentioned in mid-Novemeber. However, the time table for his recovery is not known.
Would you like to see Hulk Hogan competing in one more match at WrestleMania 36? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
Reports have previously revealed three of the matches that
are currently scheduled to be part of the upcoming Tables Ladders and Chairs
PPV on December 15th.
In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer talked about the show once again and he revealed which match will be main eventing the show.
According to Meltzer, a Survivor Series rematch between Daniel Bryan and the Universal Champion Bray Wyatt is currently scheduled to take place at the PPV and it’s expected to close the show.
Though it was also noted that Bryan is heavily involved in
the storyline so there are chances of this bout being held off for a later PPV.
In such a case, The Miz is expected to face the Fiend at the upcoming event.
Another interesting titbit from the Newsletter is the fact that Vince McMahon feels that the WWE PPVs are now about Network sign-ups and not the traditional PPV buys like they used to be.
Since the sign-up patterns show a subscription hike on the last day of the show, the Boss feels that there is no need to announce matches far in advance. This is the reason why the company is now not announcing the matches for the show beforehand.
Apart from the Universal Championship match, other matches advertised for the show include a stipulation bout between Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin and more. You can check out a report on the other matches scheduled for the event here.
The main event of this week’s episode of Raw saw the United
States Champion Rey Mysterio competing in a 6 man tag match. However, latest
report reveals that he wasn’t originally slated to be competing during the
bout.
According to reports from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original plans were for Randy Orton to team up with Humberto Carrillo and Ricochet to compete against the OC.
The idea was for Mysterio to interfere and help the faces in
picking up a win but Mr. McMahon wanted The Viper to deliver an RKO out of
nowhere to AJ Styles.
The Boss felt that Styles needed to be coming off a pin for
this to work so he changed the plans at the producers’ meetings on the day of
the event. This resulted in Orton deciding not to team with Ricochet and
Carrillo.
Ricochet ended up taking the pin in the match because the Boss did not want Mysterio to be in the position. Humberto was likely exempted because he has been losing most of his matches since debuting on the brand in October.
No word yet on where this storyline is headed but it’s likely that we’ll see a match between Randy Orton and AJ Styles soon, presumably at the upcoming TLC PPV.
Corey Graves has been enjoying the freedom he has been given
with WWE’s new After The Bell podcast where the former NXT star has been very
vocal about his thoughts on the current WWE programming.
An example of this was seen during the latest episode of the
show where Graves talked about the ongoing storyline between Charlotte Flair
and the Kabuki Warriors.
The SmackDown commentator made some bold claims about this rivalry, saying that Charlotte has never felt less important than she does right now. He then went on to elaborate that Flair is highly talented and said that he misses her queen:
“Charlotte Flair has never felt less important than she
does right now. This whole tag team thing with Charlotte finding a different
partner week after week. It just doesn’t click. I am not feeling it and it
looks to me that Charlotte is not feeling it.
Charlotte Flair carried the main event of WrestleMania this year because she is a pro. She is highly talented and when she is motivated, dare I say untouchable. I miss the queen, my queen. The villainous that just kicked everybody’s a** because she was superior. I want my queen back.”
Interestingly, the Queen herself responded to these comments from Corey Graves and she claimed that the Savior of Misbehavior is not entirely wrong:
Charlotte Flair has recently been involved in a storyline with the Kabuki Warriors and reports suggest that she will be teaming up with Becky Lynch to challenge the current Women’s Tag Team Champions for their title at the upcoming TLC PPV.
What do you think about Corey Graves’ comments and
Charlotte’s response? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments
section below.
Ronda Rousey made history with her WrestleMania main event
this year and the former Raw Women’s Champion has since taken time off from WWE
to focus on her family and have a baby.
This week’s episode of Total Divas covered Rousey’s WrestleMania match and her departure from WWE and in a new interview with E! Online, the former Champion provided an update on how things are going.
Ronda said that they are not trying to rush anything or put
pressure on themselves and she went on to explain that they are letting the
nature take its course:
“We’re just putting it out in the universe and letting
nature take its course and not trying to rush it or put any pressure on
ourselves, just kind of enjoy our time as a family together. Enjoying every day
and accepting it whenever it happens.”
Ronda Rousey made her WWE debut during WrestleMania 34 and
she went on to have a successful year with an undefeated streak and a 232 days
long reign with the Raw Women’s Championship.
Her run ended with main eventing WrestleMania 35 where she
competed in a Triple Threat match against the current champion Becky Lynch and
Charlotte Flair.
Apart from this, Ronda Rousey also talked about working on Total Divas, her time away from WWE and more. You can check out her full interview at this link.
Rhea Ripley has received a push in recent times and just in the past month she had led her teams at both Survivor Series and NXT Takeover: WarGames to victory.
The former NXT UK Women’s Champion recently had an interview with Newsweek to promote her match against Dakota Kai on the latest episode of NXT.
During the interview, the 23-year-old was asked how she feels about receiving the significant push in the Black and Yellow brand and she said that she can’t put it in words:
“It’s incredible to be honest, I can’t put it into
words how happy I am about everything, and to even get my name out there, let
alone be one of the top stars at the moment. It’s absolutely insane, and I
can’t wait to keep going out on Wednesday night to show them what I can
do.”
Ripley continued by saying that it’s insane how far she has come from the first Mae Young Classic tournament in 2017 where she lost in the second round. She claimed that it’s insane to see herself become who she knows she truly is.
Apart from this, Rhea Ripley also talked about her
transition from being a top heel in NXT UK to becoming one of the top babyfaces
the main NXT brand saying that it’s been weird.
She recalled how she would go out there and try to be the biggest prick she can be. Then people started getting behind her and now it feels weird to have people like her.
Former SmackDown Executive Director Eric Bischoff recently
had an interview with Digital Spy where he talked about things like the rise of
AEW, NXT beating AEW in the ratings recently and more.
Bischoff’s sudden departure from WWE in October after only a 4-month long tenure is still a topic of discussion and there are a lot of stories and rumors about the reason behind his firing from the company.
The former WCW President was asked about the cause of his
departure from the company during the interview, but he said that he doesn’t
want to get into it too much:
“You know, I don’t want to get into it too much, I think, dare to say that WWE is an amazingly successful company, and they have their own processes, and their own way of doing things, and managing Creative, and I just don’t think I fit into that environment.”
Eric Bischoff On Possibly Joining AEW
The rise of AEW is one of the most influential events in the wrestling industry in the past year and since its inception, a number of WWE employees who left the company have ended up joining the upstart promotion.
When asked if he would consider joining the company if offered a position, the former WWE stat said that he still like the wrestling business. He then claimed that he would take the job if the situation is right:
“You know, I don’t know. I still like the wrestling
business. I still have an interest in it and an affection for it. I think I’m
pretty good at it. If the right situation came along, and by right, I mean a
situation where I felt – specifically after my recent stint with WWE – the
chemistry has to be there.”
Eric Bischoff went on to explain that chemistry is 90% of
the equation and he would be interested in joining if the process is
constructive and positive and he enjoys working with the people there.
Apart from this, Eric Bischoff also talked about CM Punk’s return, WWE having a world-class production team and more. You can check out his full interview at this link.
Former Universal Champion Seth Rollins appeared on WWE Backstage as the special guest this week and it appears that the Architect’s appearance has helped the show in terms of viewership numbers.
This a 14% increase from last week’s episode of the show which featured the Game Triple H as the special guest and had drawn 121,000 viewers in total.
The episode on FS1 ranked at #103 on the Cable Top 150. It scored a 0.08 rating in the 18-49 demographic which is up from last week’s #125 ranking and a 0.05 rating.
Though both these episodes still did lower numbers compared to the one featuring CM Punk’s first announced appearance on the show on November 19th.
The episode featuring Punk’s first advertised WWE appearance
in 5 years had drawn 180,000 viewers and it was the highest viewership for the show
since its official premiere on November 5.
The former WWE Champion has not appeared on WWE Backstage ever since the November 19th episode but he is expected to return to the show next week and we’ll have to see how his presence affects the viewership numbers of the series.
Many believed that Mike Kanellis’ recent pregnancy storyline with his wife Maria Kanellis may have led to his decision of asking for a release from the company but the WWE star is claiming that it’s not the case.
Mike recently had an interview with Swings & Mrs, where he talked about things like his run with Impact Wrestling, the rise of AEW and more.
When asked if the recent angle was the motivation behind his
decision to leave the company, Kanellis denied the assumptions and said that
the only bothersome part about the storyline was that it went nowhere:
“The angle itself didn’t bother me, because I tell people this and it makes people yell at me, but it’s a fake television show. It’s not real. My name isn’t really Mike Kanellis.
And yes, I really am married to Maria Kanellis, but at the
end of the day I am playing a role on a TV show. It doesn’t reflect who I am as
a person so I don’t mind trying something different or thinking outside the
box. My only issue was it didn’t go anywhere.”
The former X Division Champion from TNA went on to say that if he is going to do a storyline like that then he would want it to go somewhere and he discussed how fans would want a payoff to the story as well.
Mike Kanellis was recently put in a storyline on Raw where
his wife Maria Kanellis announced that she was pregnant but claimed that Mike
was not the father.
She would then go on to insult Mike for several weeks and his character was emasculated by Maria but WWE provided no resolution to the angle and it was dropped unexpectedly.
Mike signed a new 5 years contract with WWE back in June however he announced on Twitter in October that he has decided to ask for his release from the company.
More and more WWE talents have been taking their issues with the promotion to social media recently and they have been opening up about their frustrations. However, the company’s vice president Triple H believes that it’s not the right way.
The Game recently spoke to The Hindu where he discussed topics like his visit to India in 2017, NXT’s expansion into a brand of its own and more.
While talking about the athletes airing their issues with the company on social media, H said that he doesn’t agree with it at all and the former World Champion then explained that talents should be professional about it:
“I don’t agree with it at all. Obviously in any
organisation, there are arguments and disagreements. Athletes need to be
professional about it and not take to viewing their opinions in public.
If they want to see out their contracts or leave the
company, they need to do it internally — not try to ‘break the internet’ as has
become the norm these days!”
Triple H’s comments are directed towards the WWE performers who have opened up about their frustrations with the company on social media in recent times.
This list includes the likes of Mike Kanellis and Sin Cara who discussed their situation on social media after asking for their release and there are also others like Jordan Myles, who recently made a lot of headlines after accusing the company of racism before his release.
Now WWE has officially confirmed John’s return to the company and they have announced that he has signed a new multi year deal with the promotion. The news was broken by Ryan Satin on the latest episode of WWE Backstage as seen below:
The former IC Champion himself also commented on the news after the announcement and he made the following tweet, saying that he can’t wait to stand in a WWE ring again:
Confirmed ? I have signed with @WWE – I’ve never been as good at anything as I am at wrestling & I can’t wait to stand again in a #WWE ring opposite the most talented people in the business??
John Morrison started his wrestling career in WWE itself when he was chosen as a participant for Tough Enough III in 2002. He went on to become a co-winner of the show and was offered a WWE contract.
Morrison made his main roster debut in 2004 after spending some time in development. He stayed with the company for almost nine years and won over half a dozen titles before being released by the promotion in 2011.
The WWE star has competed for a number of well-known wrestling promotions since leaving the company including Lucha Underground and AAA and just recently, he had a stint with Impact Wrestling as well.
According to WWE, the former Champion’s TV return and brand affiliation are yet to be determined and we’ll keep you posted on any announcement regarding the same.
WWE Backstage correspondent CM Punk replied to Morrison’s announcement. Punk joked that if he wants to work with the most talented person in the wrestling business, he’ll have to go to Japan.
Big Cass has been very open about his mistakes in WWE since leaving the company and he has talked a number of times about the infamous little man segment which many believe was one of the main reasons why Cass got fired from the company.
The former WWE star once again talked about the segment where he went off-script during his recent appearance on the Talk Is Jericho podcast and this time, he also revealed Vince McMahon’s reaction to it.
Cass first discussed how the segment was designed to get him mega heat from the crowd and revealing the Boss’ reaction to him going off script, the former NXT star claimed that saying he was unhappy would be an understatement:
“When I got back through the curtain, it was very, very
bad. It was a bad night for me. [Vince McMahon being unhappy] is the
understatement of the century. Furious, no, he was furious. That was the first
straw and rightly so. I mean, that was such a bad decision, so stupid.”
Big Cass continued by recalling how he had mental health
issues even when he was in WWE and according to him, he was depressed even when
he came back from his ACL injury in April 2018.
Apart from this, the former WWE star also talked about his infamous seizure scare at a House Of Hardcore show and said that his goal now is to get back into WWE.
CM Punk has been pretty open about his hatred towards Hulk
Hogan over the years and it appears that his feelings haven’t changed since
leaving WWE in 2014.
The former WWE Champion recently made an appearance in Windy
City LIVE’s 2 Minute Warning YouTube show where he answered a number of
questions.
Punk was first asked who his favorite wrestler growing up
was and the former WWE star took the name of Hall Of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy
Piper.
He was then asked about Hulk Hogan and answering the question, the Straight Edge Star revealed that he wasn’t a big Hogan fan growing up. When questioned about meeting the Hulkster, Punk admitted that he met him and said that he likes him even less now:
“I’ve met him, and I like him even less now, F–k him.”
Apart from this, CM Punk also talked about facing the Rock in a match, trading places with his dog for a day and his favorite movie.
You can check out CM Punk’s comments about Hulk Hogan in the clip below:
CM Punk and Hulk Hogan
This is not the first time CM Punk has said harsh words about the WWE Hall Of Famer and he previously trashed Hogan when the Hulkster was still in TNA. Back then, Punk said he had no faith that Hogan had any interest in helping TNA and was simply looking for a paycheck.
“I have zero faith in Hulk Hogan as a man who is what 60 years-old and tries to dress like he’s 18 and lives on the Jersey Shore,” Punk said. “For a guy I’ve never met, I’ve formulated enough opinions about him just from being around him and like his business acumen and stuff like that, I really trust that he’s not in this for TNA and he’s not in this for the business. He’s in this for himself.”
The Survivor Series PPV was mostly praised by the fans but
it appears that the current AEW World Champion Chris Jericho did not find a
segment of the show very amusing.
Jericho recently joined Konnan for his Keepin it 100 podcast
where he talked about things like the difference between WWE and AEW and more.
When asked about Survivor Series, the Le Champion admitted watching the show but he went on to criticize a segment between Daniel Bryan and The Miz from the event, calling it “cartoonish in a bad way”:
“I watched Survivor Series, it was really good, but there
was this promo with The Miz and Daniel Bryan and Miz saying for the sake of our
children and our families you have to stop The Fiend. Nobody talks like that.
You can still put the guy over big time, but what is he
going to do, break into your house? Steal your kids? It’s just not believable.
It’s cartoonish in a bad way,”
Chris Jericho also talked about the creative process of AEW, revealing that he has been very involved with all the work he has done for the company so far which wouldn’t have been possible with WWE.
Apart from this, the AEW Champion talked about Roman Reigns and weighed in on how the Big Dog might do in the upstart promotion. You can check out his comments on the matter at this link.
Becky Lynch hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since the Survivor
Series PPV but she did wrestle in a dark match after this week’s episode of
Raw.
The Raw Women’s Champion competed in a singles match against
one half of the current Women’s Tag Team Champions The Kabuki Warriors, Kairi
Sane. Lynch defeated Sane in this bout, though this wasn’t Kairi’s first match
of the night.
The Japanese star had also teamed up with her partner Asuka to score a victory against Charlotte Flair earlier in the show. A latest report suggests that these 4 will meet again at the upcoming TLC PPV. You can check out the report on the matter here.
R Truth Wins 24/7 Title Back
This week’s episode of Raw saw R Truth running away from a
number of WWE superstars backstage and Kyle Busch and Michael Waltrip who were
present there helped direct the stars chasing Truth.
However, Michael revealed his referee shirt as soon as the
other stars were gone and the segment ended with Kyle pinning the former US
Champion to become the new WWE 24/7 Champion.
Though Truth did manage to win the title back before the night ended and WWE posted the following video of the Raw star winning his championship back after the show was over:
