Austin Theory Announces US Title Open Challenge For Raw, Talks John Cena

Austin Theory has made a big announcement for this Monday’s Raw after successfully retaining the United States Championship at Elimination Chamber.

The current champion managed to outlast the five challengers he faced inside the Chamber. He last eliminated Seth Rollins who was distracted by Logan Paul to retain the title.

In the post show press conference, Theory was asked if he would want to defend the belt against John Cena at WrestleMania. The US Champion explained that people should talk about him and not the Cenation Leader:

“Why does everyone talk about John Cena? Why? Why don’t they talk about me? Because now they’re gonna talk about me. Because tonight I showcased my immortality inside that chamber.”

– Austin Theory

Later in the press conference, Austin Theory asked a question of his own. He wondered who is gonna step up to him now because there is no one in the WWE locker room who thinks like him.

The Raw star then announced that he will be issuing an open challenge for the US Championship on Monday and said that he will beat anyone who answers it.

Apart from this, the Elimination Chamber PPV also featured another cage match and the match between Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn. You can check out the results for the show here.

Update: it appears that Edge has accepted the open challenge issued by Theory. He said this at the post-show press conference:

Former AEW Champion Expected Back Soon

Former AEW Women’s Champion Riho has not wrestled a match this year but latest reports suggest that she could be returning soon.

Dave Meltzer provided an update on the female star in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He claimed that she could be back as early as next week.

Regarding the possible plans for her return, Meltzer mentioned that Tony Khan could use her for ROH since the AEW stories all seem to be based around talents such as Britt Baker and Saraya.

Riho was the Inaugural AEW champion who won the title on the very first episode of Dynamite. She held the belt for 133 days before dropping it to Nyla Rose.

The former champion last wrestled during a SPW show back on November 25 last year. She competed in a triple threat match for SPW Queen of The Asia title.

Her last AEW match came on November 9 from Agganis Arena in Boston. She teamed up with Willow Nightingale to defeat Emi Sakura & Mei Suruga in a tag team match during a Dark: Elevation episode.

The reason behind Riho’s absence from the ring is unclear. We will have to see if the AEW star reveals any detail regarding it when she returns to the company.

The Undertaker: Fans Are More Concerned About What’s Happening Behind The Scene Than The Ring

The Undertaker has spoken up about how social media has changed the behavior of fans. According to him, it’s hard for him to watch people put everything online now.

The Dead Man recently appeared on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson. He talked about things such as his favorite match of all time and more.

Speaking about the rise of social media and how it has changed the fans, Taker mentioned how people now are more concerned about what’s happening behind the scene, and not so much about what’s happening in the ring:

“Our fan base in general, they’re more concerned now with what’s happening behind the scenes and not so much what’s going on in the ring.

They want the dirt. It’s like anything else in our society. It’s all social media driven. Everybody puts their life out there.”

‘A Huge Disconnect’: The Undertaker

The Undertaker said that it’s hard for him to watch someone being completely different on social media compared to his TV persona. Per The Last Out Outlaw, it’s a ‘huge disconnect’:

“For me, it’s kind of a huge disconnect, but it is what it is and that’s where we’re at. I don’t necessarily like it, but there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s just the way it is. It really makes things harder to have good storylines and have people invested.”

Taker also talked about his A&E documentary saying that it was fun but also hard. The former world champion mentioned that he has lived his character for so long that it was tough for him to pull that curtain back.

Sami Zayn Reveals What Cody Rhodes Said To Him At Royal Rumble

The paths of Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes have crossed unexpectedly. When Rhodes first returned to the company last April, many believed that he would be the perfect name to finally dethrone Roman Reigns. However, Zayn has made a strong case for the spot in the last few months.

Cody spent almost 7 months on the shelf before Royal Rumble due to a pec injury. The former NXT champion has become the emotional favorite to end the historic reign of the Tribal Chief in this time. Even now nobody is sure which one of these two will be the one to finally take the titles away from the Head of The Table.

Sami Zayn recently talked about this situation in an interview with Fightful. He revealed what Rhodes said to him when the two saw each other at Royal Rumble, emphasizing that the awkwardness of the moment was not lost on them:

“It’s an interesting time we find ourselves in, When I saw him [Cody] at the Royal Rumble, the first thing he said to me was, ‘this is awkward, huh?’ It’s a strange time.

– Sami Zayn

The Underdog from The Underground mentioned that the WrestleMania main event could go either way. Just like his own story, Cody Rhodes’ journey has also brought him here and he has already punched his ticket to WrestleMania. Sami Zayn then also commented on his upcoming match with Roman Reigns. He said that for him, having the match in Montreal makes it bigger than WrestleMania:

“The amazing thing is, WrestleMania is also my WrestleMania because of the position I find myself in. If I could rewrite the whole thing, I don’t know if I would change anything. The fact that I’m having this match in Montreal, in a weird way, that’s almost bigger than if I would have had this match with Roman at WrestleMania. I don’t know if it gets bigger than this.”

Sami Zayn will be looking to dethrone Roman Reigns and win his first world title in WWE at Elimination Chamber from Montreal, Canada this Saturday on February 18. The Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes will be waiting for the winner of this match at WrestleMania 39 from Hollywood in April.

Mercedes Mone Takes Credit For Recent NJPW Viewership Increase

Mercedes Mone is undoubtedly one of the most famous female wrestlers of the current generation. She is certainly not shy in taking credit for her achievements.

The former WWE star recently spoke to Sports Illustrated. She talked about things such as her NJPW debut during Wrestle Kingdom 17, her love for wrestling and more.

Discussing her hiatus from the wrestling world before the Wrestle Kingdom appearance, Mone mentioned how her fans followed her to the NJPW show despite her long absence before it:

“I have the greatest fans in the entire world, They followed me to Wrestle Kingdom. There was 30% new viewership from the United States, and that’s because of my crew.

To be away from them for nine months has been incredibly hard.” said Mercedes Mone, “Now we get to start a whole new chapter and go on a whole new ride.”

The former Women’s Champion also talked about her love for Japanese wrestling and reiterated that the creation of the IWGP Women’s Championship is the reason she decided to come to Japan.

Mercedes Mone is set to challenge Kairi for the IWGP title at the NJPW Battle In The Valley event on Saturday, February 18 from San Jose, California.

Kenny Omega Comments On Current AEW Role Amid WWE Interest

AEW TV ratings have been on a decline the last few weeks. Many believe keeping Kenny Omega out of the World title picture and putting him in a predictable storyline over the trios title is one of the reasons behind it.

Amongst the reported WWE interest in signing The Cleaner, there has also been curiousity over how the former AEW champion himself feels about his current role in the company.

The AEW star commented on his current position during an appearance on the Swerve City podcast. Omega said that both him and The Young Bucks are comfortable with their current roles:

“We’re so comfortable in our own skin and where we’re at in wrestling. Whatever I’m required to do, even if it’s not be the focus or the star of the show, I feel I have something I can give that, wherever I am on the card.”

‘It’s Supposed To Be Fun’: Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega explained that his current role is not about being the focal point of AEW programming. Instead, it’s about letting lose and having fun:

“I’m not supposed to be in this epic storyline encounter. No blood feuds right now. I’m in a position where, right now, we’re doing six-man tags, it’s supposed to be fun,”

Omega said that he trusts himself to deliver in different positions on the card. When his trust wavers, he has the Young Bucks to pick him up.

Corey Graves has been one of the prominent voices of WWE for many years. Now he has taken an additional responsibility behind the scenes.

The WWE star recently had an interview with PopCulture. He talked about things such as being part of the Raw 30th Anniversary special and more.

Graves didn’t forget to remind people that he has been cleared to compete. He said that he can’t think of a better scenario for his return than alongside his wife Carmella.

Corey Graves was signed by WWE back in 2011. He was one of the rising stars of the early NXT before he was forced to retire due to concussion issues in December 2014.

He then found a new role for himself as part of the NXT broadcasting team. Graves was drafted to Raw in 2016 and he has been a regular for main roster ever since.

Tony Khan Calls Reporter A Fraud After SmackDown Appearance

AEW President Tony Khan has called out Ariel Helwani on Twitter. This came after the reporter made an appearance on tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

Sami Zayn is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Championship at the Elimination Chamber PPV from his hometown of Montreal, Canada.

Tonight’s episode of SmackDown also aired from Montreal. WWE brought in Helwani who is from the city as well to interact with the crowd and promote the upcoming match.

Tony Khan and Ariel Helwani

Khan apparently saw Ariel’s appearance on the show and he called him a fraud on Twitter. Helwani responded to the AEW owner calling him a legend and saying that he can’t wait for their next chat:

“Thanks for watching, old friend! Can’t wait for our next chat. (Also, don’t listen to the snowman, Schiavone. You’re a legend in my books.)”

There has been tension between Helwani and Khan before. This came after the former interviewed TK in the fall of 2022.

He later went on record calling the interview with Khan ‘one of the most frustrating’ of his career. Helwani explained that Tony did not answer any of his questions and instead just focused on promoting his shows.

WWE Muted Roman Reigns Chants On SmackDown

WWE had to mute a Roman Reigns chant from tonight’s broadcast of SmackDown from Montreal during the promo of Sami Zayn.

The Underdog from The Underground will be competing in the biggest match of his career tomorrow. He will be challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

This match will be taking place on the Elimination Chamber PPV from Montreal, Canada. Zayn is expected to receive the crowd’s full support during the show.

Montreal Hates Roman Reigns

Ahead of the big match, Zayn made an appearance on tonight’s show. Sami used his old Worlds Apart theme music and received a huge pop. Though we got a preview of the expected crowd reaction for not only Sami but also his opponent at the PLE.

While The Tribal Chief was not present in the arena for the show, there were loud ‘F**k you Roman’ chants from the crowd. This forced the company to mute the audio for a bit until the chants died down:

Sami Zayn then cut a short promo to end the show. He said that the Elimination Chamber match is the most important of his career and Reigns will be up against not only him but the entire city of Montreal.

Who do you think should win tomorrow’s match between Roma Reigns and Sami Zayn? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

What Happened With Charlotte Flair After SmackDown Went Off Air

This week’s episode of SmackDown included not one but two dark matches, featuring talent such as Charlotte Flair and Bray Wyatt.

The first dark match of the night saw the SmackDown Women’s Champion in action. She defended her title against Sonya Deville in a singles match.

The bout that lasted about 6 minutes was described as ‘sloppy’ by a fan in attendance. Charlotte won this match using the Figure 8 submission.

Bray Wyatt Wrestles

The second dark match of the night saw Bray Wyatt going up against LA Knight. The two WWE stars once again competed in a street fight.

Wyatt first put Knight through a table with a Mandible Claw slam. The former Universal Champion then delivered a Sister Abigail to pick up the victory.

Bray Wyatt also made an appearance during this week’s episode of SmackDown. The Fiend made a very interesting announcement during the show.

The Eater Of Worlds and Uncle Howdy interrupted a segment featuring Hit Row. Bray revealed that he will be going after the winner of the Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley match at Elimination Chamber.

Apart from this, the SmackDown episode featured Gunther in a title match and a Sami Zayn promo ahead of his big match tomorrow.

RVD Explains What Made Iconic John Cena Match Special

RVD had many memorable matches during his WWE career. Perhaps the most memorable outing was when he went up against John Cena at ECW One Night Stand 2006. The ECW legend cashed in his Money In The Bank contract for this title shot. He went on to defeat the Cenation Leader to become the new WWE Champion.

The former WWE star reflected on this iconic match during an interview with Chris Van Vliet. He was asked which is the one match fans ask him the most about. Van Dam said that it has to be the bout with Cena:

“The one match would probably be when I beat John Cena at ECW One Night Stand and won the championship belts. Which if they asked me, I’d bring it up. If they asked me what my favorite match was, [I’d mention it] because first off, the match itself was in my opinion, great. I loved the match. Obviously Cena is great. He was great with that crowd. The crowd was incredible. One of a kind crowd.

[It was an] irreplaceable moment, besides all of that, it’s like ‘What was my story, my build up, going into that particular match? Everything since 96.’ Maybe even before that, if you were to add the history. So for those reasons. Me and every fan in that building, we were all fighting for what I believed in, in my heart, and what got me all the way up to that point. That’s why they all wanted to see the match go the way it did and see Cena go down, or they would riot.”

‘Holy Crap, This Is Great’: RVD

One of the things that made the match special was the unique crowd reaction. The event was held at the legendary Hammerstein Ballroom and it was the home crowd for RVD. It was one rare occasion when John Cena was decisively the villain. When asked if they anticipated such strong crowd reaction, Mr. Monday Night admitted that he didn’t:

“I don’t think anybody could have known exactly how that crowd was gonna be first off, to put that out there. I didn’t. I knew for sure that was my home. I knew that they were with me. That was my building. But I couldn’t have predicted that they were gonna feel so much that way. They’re gonna be like ‘No! Fuck your T-shirt’ and throw it back. You see me laughing when you watch that.

I thought that was funny and great. What are the chances that a fan that could have a John Cena shirt, because they’re all real fans at heart, will do that? Then boom, second guy does it again, third guy wipes his ass with it. It’s like, ‘Holy crap. This is great,’ But I had no idea it was gonna be like that. John knew that he was in for a rough night, He was gonna get shit on a lot. He knew that. He’s just super cool. I really think he was looking forward to the match. I think that he had fun with it. I know I did.”

RVD Details Promo That Made Him Big Fan Of John Cena

RVD was one of the guys that feuded with John Cena during his rise to superstardom and helped the Cenation Leader get to the next level. The ECW legend was an industry veteran by the time he first shared the ring with Cena. The 16-time world champion, however, still made him a fan with his mic skills.

The Whole F’n Show recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet. He first reflected on his time with WWE and talked about his infamous One Night Stand encounter with the Hollywood star. Going back further in time, RVD remembered another similar night when John Cena got booed by the crowd, but he managed to turn it around:

“I did see him get booed by the whole crowd before. That was in Wales. That was early in my WWE days. So I don’t know probably 2003 or 2004 seems like, I don’t know, but I was shocked. Because I hadn’t seen that before at that point. Everyone [was like] ‘boo’ and then he got on the microphone. He cut this promo. He said ‘You can boo me. Yeah, keep it up. Let’s go.’

RVD continued: “He was like, ‘That’s what we want, man. As long as you’re screaming and you’re voicing your opinion. That means you’re ready to go and that you’re ready for wrestling.’ He was like ‘That’s all we want either way. We wanna make sure you’re having a good time. So keep it up.’ He turned them and made me a much bigger fan of his at that moment. I was like ‘Wow, he knows how to turn the whole crowd that hated him into loving him in two minutes.'”

Watch: Dominik Mysterio Crashes Rey Mysterio’s Valentine’s Day Celebration

Dominik Mysterio has again ruined a celebration for The Mysterio Family, or has he?

The young WWE star ruined Thanksgiving and Christmas Day for his father and he tried to do the same on Valentine’s Day as well.

WWE recently posted a video of Prison Dom going to a nice restaurant with Rhea Ripley to celebrate Valentine’s Day. He asked for his reserved table only to learn that his father Rey Mysterio had already taken up the seat.

This time, however, Rey chose not to make a fuss in public. The wrestling veteran decided to let his son have the table and left quietly with his wife.

Prison Dom Makes A Run

Dominik then got to enjoy a nice dinner with his Mami, only for him to learn later that he can no longer use the Mysterio account to pay for it all.

The WWE star then tried to pay with a credit card. When that got declined as well, Dom did the most prison thing and made a run for it:

Rhea Ripley Is Not Happy

Rhea Ripley was not happy with people focusing on the fact that she had to foot the bill. She tweeted in support of Dominik, saying that she understands his trauma:

The Judgement Day are currently involved in a long-standing feud with Edge and Beth Phoenix. This rivalry was reignited when the Rated R Superstar and The Glamazon made their return at Royal Rumble.

It’s believed that we will see Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley teaming up against the husband-wife duo at WrestleMania. As for Dominik, it’s possible that he finally has to face his father Rey Mysterio in a match at the show.

Roman Reigns Responds To Emotional Cody Rhodes – Sami Zayn Segment

Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn participated in a highly praised segment on this week’s episode of Raw, but Roman Reigns is not impressed.

This week’s episode of the Red Branded Show saw Zayn jumping the barricade once again. He called out Rhodes and asked if Cody really believes Sami can beat the Tribal Chief at Elimination Chamber.

The American Nightmare said that it doesn’t matter what anyone else believes. He said that he is here to finish his story and told Zayn to finish his own.

Roman Reigns Responds

This segment between the two title challengers received high praise from the fans but it failed to impress the WWE Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion.

Roman Reigns posted a message on Twitter saying that everybody thinks they’re the guy until they meet the guy. He targeted Sami Zayn in the video, saying he’ll see the Honorary Uce in Montreal:

“If you gotta have a pep rally to convince each other that you can beat me? You don’t stand a chance. I’ll see ya in Montreal.”

Cody Rhodes will be main eventing WrestleMania 39 after winning the Royal Rumble. Sami Zayn on the other hand, is set to challenge Reigns for the Undisputed titles this Saturday, February 18 at Elimination Chamber from Montreal, Canada.

Cody Rhodes Details His Current Relationship With Triple H

There are many aspects that make Cody Rhodes’ journey back to WWE very unique. One such aspect is his relationship with Triple H. He took some serious shots at the WWE Executive during the initial days of AEW, only to now find himself working under the guidance of The Game after his return.

The American Nightmare was asked about his relationship with the Chief Content Officer during an interview with Ariel Helwani. Rhodes claimed that the relationship has been great because neither of them are trying to force a friendship:

“So far? A plus. In terms of not, I hope this isn’t too divulgent, nothing has been forced. I’m not trying to force my ideas or a friendship. He’s not trying [either]. Everything he has said to me, or we’ve talked about has been very deliberate. Very much I get the sense [that] he’s expecting me to hit a home run every time. [I’m like] ‘Okay,’ I have had great education and great experience. I want to go out there and do that every time.”

‘It’s Been A Very Good Relationship’: Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes said that he expects struggles in the future but his relationship with Triple H so far has been good. Addressing his time in AEW, the former TNT champion explained that his actions were aimed at lifting the whole industry up:

“We’ve yet to really hit a road bump. They’re gonna come. I keep using different sports analogies, but we’re gonna fumble the ball. We’re gonna have these moments. They’re gonna come but right now, it’s been a very good relationship. Because it’s not performative. Right, it’s you call the play, and I’m gonna go out there and try to do the damn thing.

I’ve really enjoyed that because I don’t think there was necessarily bad blood. But that was a contentious thing on Wednesdays in a way for a while. If anything, I hope he would look at that and respect the hustle. I don’t think I’ve ever said respect the hustle. Respect what I was out there trying to do. Cause what I was out there trying to do then was for everybody.”

Cody Rhodes Addresses Criticism Of His Royal Rumble Return

Cody Rhodes made his big return to WWE at Royal Rumble. After staying away from wrestling for 7 months, the American Nightmare picked things up right where he left off. He won the battle royal to earn a shot at the Undisputed World Championship at WrestleMania 39. His return, however, wasn’t free of criticism. Many fans thought that it would have been better to keep his comeback a surprise.

The former AEW star addressed this criticism during an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. Rhodes explained why he preferred the way things went down, saying that he wanted to call his shots:

“The Rumble was about, in my opinion, as a character that people like on the show, and I’ve been a character on shows that they don’t like but as someone currently, they like and vibe with and I really love and like them. I wanted to call my shot.

Calling your shots sometimes makes it obvious. Like ‘oh, hey, they’re making it seem like he’s gonna win the Royal Rumble.’ I wanted to call my shot because I still believe in those type of wrestlers. The type I grew up with, who said something and did it. That doesn’t happen that often in wrestling.”

‘It Just Felt Good’: Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes before his surgery

Cody Rhodes noted how he has been talking about winning the world championship since he returned to the company. He mentioned that many fans wanted his return to be a surprise, but the wrestling veteran explained that he felt good sharing the story of his return with fans:

“I’ve been telling you since WrestleMania, this is what I want. I want to win this championship that my dad never got his hands on. Then I want to start a whole new chapter. I’m wrapping up something that started in 1978, seven years before I was born. 77 maybe actually, but I want to wrap this up, and then wrap that part up for me. Then start a whole new chapter. I kind of stand by that.

There was a lot of people like ‘maybe it should have been a surprise.’ [I’m like] ‘Yeah, that might have been really cool.’ But it just felt good about telling them ‘Hey, I’m coming back’ It was really nerve-wracking and anxious. Watching those vignettes, because they’re not vignettes. It’s real surgery footage and real PT footage at my gym. I didn’t want to let anyone down and I felt like I didn’t.”

Watch What Happened With Seth Rollins After Raw Went Off Air

Seth Rollins was a busy man during tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw. He took part in a talk show segment during the show, competed in a dark match afterwards and also cut a promo later on.

The former Universal Champion first appeared on The Miz TV during the broadcast. He opened up about his hatred for Logan Paul during the segment.

Rollins tried to attack The Miz towards the end of the segment but Austin Theory interfered. The Visionary did manage to deliver a Curb Stomp to the A-Lister but Theory then took him out.

What Happened After Raw

The Architect returned to the ring later in the night after the cameras stopped rolling. He first shared a moment with Becky Lynch who competed in the main event of Raw.

Seth Rollins then wrestled in a street fight with Theory. Rollins won this bout after he put the US champion through a table and then delivered a Curb Stomp for the pin.

After the match, Seth addressed the Brooklyn crowd. The former champion thanked the fans and led them to sing a tune to end the night:

Seth Rollins and Austin Theory will meet again this Saturday at the Elimination Chamber PPV. Theory will be defending his US Championship against Rollins and four other competitors inside the steel structure.

NXT Champion Competes In Match Before Raw

Bron Breakker has been the dominant NXT Champion for over 300 days but it appears that his time with the development brand might be coming to an end.

WWE has the tradition of calling up development stars right after WrestleMania. They usually start preparing talents for their future by having them compete in trial matches during the Mania season.

The NXT champion competed in one such match before this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. The second-generation talent competed in a bout against Akira Tozawa that was filmed for Main Event.

Bron Breakker wasn’t the only NXT name brought in for the tapings from Brooklyn, NY. Wendy Choo was also present in the arena and she had a match with Dana Brooke.

Choo participated in the 2018 Mae Young Classic before being signed by WWE. She spent a long time on the shelf due to various injuries and went through multiple gimmick changes before settling on her current ring name in November 2021.

Breakker on the other hand made his in-ring debut for the brand in September 2021. He has been the dominant face of WWE’s Development Territory ever since.

The 25-year-old has made several appearances on Raw and SmackDown. Now might be the time for him to join the main roster on a more permanent basis.

Jake Roberts Recalls Fan Shooting At Him During A Show

Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts comes from a very different era of wrestling. Fans took wrestling more seriously during his prime and things used to be wilder. This includes being attacked by people outside of shows and in at least one instance, being shot at by a fan in the arena.

The wrestling legend recently had an interview with Derricks Reptiles. He talked about things such as bulls**ting his way into his WWE role and more.

When asked to share a crazy fan story from his time, Roberts recalled the one show in Dallas Texas where he was wrestling with Sting:

“Craziest one would have been in Dallas, Texas. I was wrestling Sting. A guy stood up in the ninth row, reached in his jacket. [He] pulled out a pistol and started shooting at me. He got three shots off. Missed me. That’s about as crazy as it gets. I jumped my ass out of that ring, got underneath the ring and hid.”

– Jake Roberts

Jake Roberts was also asked what is the one thing he would tell Vince McMahon that he never did. The former WWE star replied with ‘Go f**k yourself.”

Apart from this, Roberts told a crazy road story from the time he was travelling with The Undertaker and they went to a bar.

The MCU star has received praise recently for his work in movies such as Glass Onion and Knock at the Cabin. The upcoming adaptation is only expected to add to his reputation.

Mercedes Mone And Naomi Announced For Joint Appearance Next Month

Mercedes Mone has been making strides in the wrestling world this year after her WWE release. Her tag team partner Naomi however, has stayed mostly quiet about her future.

There has been rumors of her returning to the Vince McMahon-owned promotion but a latest announcement suggests that she isn’t planning a comeback after all.

The Emerald City Comic Con announced on Twitter recently that both Naomi and Mercedes will be joining the event on March 4 and 5:

“Welcome to #ECCC, Trinity Fatu (“Naomi”)! ? Trinity and her bestie, Mercedes Varnado, are tag-teaming Seattle March 4 and 5. Meet this duo at the brand-new Seattle Convention Center Summit building”

Mone made her NJPW debut during Wrestle Kingdom 17 earlier this year. She attacked the IWGP Women’s Champion Kairi during her first appearance.

The former Sasha Banks has been announced to challenge the Women’s title holder for the belt. This match will be taking place at NJPW Battle in the Valley in San Jose on February 18.

Naomi on the other hand has not made any wrestling appearances since the duo walked out of WWE back in May last year.

The former Women’s Champion has accompanied Mone on several red-carpet appearances. She has stayed quiet on her future plans in the wrestling business.

Sami Zayn Understands The Impact Of The Bloodline Story: “It Will Be Remembered”

It would be an understatement to say that the storyline with The Bloodline and Sami Zayn is one of the most encapsulating stories of today. The many layers of this feud are intriguing to all sections of the wrestling audience. There aren’t many people who haven’t praised this saga. Per Zayn himself, every character of this tale understands that it will be remembered for a long time to come.

The Honorary Uce recently joined The Sick Podcast to talk about his feud with Roman Reigns and the story surrounding it. When asked how he feels being part of such an epic story, Zayn explained that it doesn’t seem so crazy when you’re in it:

“When you’re in it, it doesn’t seem that crazy. I think it’s one of those things where, because I’m in the middle of it. I’m so close to it that [it doesn’t seem crazy]. I realize that people are enjoying it.” said Sami Zayn, “I even see the reaction of like, people that are mildly into wrestling seem to be more drawn into wrestling as of late because of this story. I think it’s that kind of story that it’s actually brought some people even back which is amazing.

I can hear fans say, ‘Oh, I checked out of wrestling for a few years but then your feud with Kevin Owens brought me back or this story with The Bloodline brought me back.’ That’s a really rewarding thing to hear. For sure, I do realize that this is a very special story. I think everybody who’s performing in it at this point realizes, ‘Oh, yeah, this one will be remembered.'”

‘It Will Be Remembered’: Sami Zayn

sami zayn jey uso

Sami Zayn went on to explain how there are a lot of good wrestlers today and everyone can put on a good match. What’s harder is to create something that people will remember for a long time:

“What’s harder than doing something good is doing something memorable. If you can do something memorable in 2023, and I don’t even care what it is like, if it’s a podcast, if it’s a song, if it’s a viral thing [it doesn’t matter].

A lot of that stuff just comes and goes with the wind. Every day there’s a new one, every week there’s a new one. If you can do something with some lasting impact that people will talk about in 10-15 years, that’s huge. That’s huge nowadays. I think we stumbled onto something with this one. I think it will be remembered.”

Two NXT Stars Reveal Injury On Twitter

You never know when you may suffer an injury in wrestling. This is true for two NXT stars who have recently confirmed health woes on Twitter.

JD McDonagh revealed on Twitter that he is dealing with a detached retina in his right eye and he won’t be able to make an appearance at NXT Live Events this weekend:

@WWENXT fans attending Live Events in Tampa/Citrus Springs this weekend – Unfortunately, after a sneak attack on Tuesday, I’ve got a detached retina in my right eye. Waiting on a treatment plan, but I estimate a 10-14 day recovery time.”

McDonagh competed in a match against Carmelo Hayes on NXT this past Tuesday. A returning Ilja Dragunov not only cost him the bout but he also attacked the Irish star after the bell.

What Happened With Bray Wyatt After SmackDown Went Off Air

This week’s episode of SmackDown featured not one but three different dark matches, including one with Bray Wyatt.

The very first dark match took place even before the show went on air. It saw Butch taking on Imperium’s Giovanni Vinci. The Brawling Brute won this bout.

The second dark match after the show was over featured the New Day. The duo of Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston shared a moment with Michael Cole and Wade Barrett before making their way to the ring.

The former tag team champions faced Judgement Day’s Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest. The team of Kingston and Woods won this bout.

Bray Wyatt Wrestles After SmackDown

The final dark match of the night saw Bray Wyatt going up against LA Knight. The two SmackDown stars competed in a No Disqualification match.

The match was won by the Fiend after he put Knight through a table. The ending was very similar to their dark match last week.

Wyatt did not make an appearance on this week’s episode of the Blue Branded Show. LA Knight was part of a backstage segment.

Apart from this, the SmackDown episode featured a #1 contender’s match in the main event and more. You can check out the full results of the show here.

Liv Morgan Clears The Air On Acting Career & WWE Future

Liv Morgan has been trying her hands at many different things recently. She made an appearance on hit TV series Chucky last year. The WWE star has since been talking about her acting ambitions and auditioning for various other roles. This has made many wonder if she is looking to transition out of wrestling.

The former SmackDown Women’s Champion cleared her stand during an appearance on Out Of Character podcast. She claimed that her end goal with this is to bring more notoriety to wrestling:

“I don’t want people to think that I care less for here or that I’m going to try less for here or that my goals aren’t the same because I’m interested in other things. It’s not the case so I just wanted to clear the air.

I feel as far as WWE is concerned, everything that I do, it’s to bring more star power over. I’m not doing these things so I can be rich and famous and successful and be like ‘Alright, peace!’ It’s like no. I want to bring more fans. I want to bring more just notoriety in any way that I can.”

‘Tomorrow Is Never Promised’: Liv Morgan

Liv Morgan and Chuky

Liv Morgan made it clear that she wants to wrestle for as long as she can. At the same time, she realizes that tomorrow is never promised. The WWE star wants to use the stage she has in order to branch out and find other things to do:

“I want to wrestle for as long as I possibly can and I will, but tomorrow is not ever promised, you know? So if I can utilize this platform while I have it to kind of start a transition into acting and other entertainment, I of course want to utilize this platform while I have it.

WWE has been very gracious. They’ve been very cool and understanding and are like allowing me, letting me [do it] and are happy for me that I’m kind of exploring and trying to dabble into other things. They’ve been so great.”
