Ex-AEW Star Calls Tony Khan ‘King Of Last Minute Mind Changes’

Tony Khan is generally known to have long term plan for things as opposed to Vince McMahon, but a released star has called him the ‘king of last minute mind changes.’

Former AEW star Jack Evans recently had an interview with Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast. He discussed the various stages of his wrestling career in detail.

When asked about Khan, Evans said that Tony was a great boss. However, he revealed the one complain he had with the AEW president:

“I really liked it. It was a great experience. Tony was a great boss. The only complaint I could ever make about Tony for sure is, he is like the king of last-minute mind changes.

That would be my one complaint about him as a boss.” said Jack Evans, “But other than that, he was always actually very fair.”

Later in the interview, the former champion mentioned how you hear stories about Vince McMahon and how he has to be the alpha in the room.

Evans claimed that Tony was never like that and working with him was a pleasant experience. He also explained that Khan is extremely approachable, and if you want to pitch an angle, you can just go right up and pitch it to him.

Backstage News On Kevin Owens And Others Being Absent From WWE Programming

Several notable names have been missing from WWE’s premier shows the last few weeks. This list includes stars such as Kevin Owens. The former Universal champion is considered a ‘Triple H guy.’ People expected him to be featured more prominently on WWE programming after the game took over the creative duties in the company.

However, Owens was not only absent from this Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, but he hasn’t been seen all that much in the past few weeks since the Money In The Bank PPV. Fightful Select provided some update on the situation. They claimed that they haven’t heard anything about an injury that would keep KO out of action. Instead, they’re told that creative plans are being ‘cooked up’ for him moving forward.

Another notable name missing from the shows is Lacey Evans. She was scheduled to face Aliyah in a match during the July 29 episode of SmackDown but the bout was cancelled. It was said on air that Evans wasn’t cleared to compete but there are no immediate creative plans for her. Her name wasn’t discussed for the women’s gauntlet match on SmackDown this week.

Lacey Evans was a personal favorite of Vince McMahon. The boss was very hands-on and worked directly with the female star after her return to Raw earlier this year. However, there were no solid plans for her in place, and her WWE return after pregnancy in April was described as ‘chaotic and directionless.’

Finally, Omos hasn’t been featured much on Raw the last several weeks. Though the Nigerian Giant has still been on the road, being managed by MVP. The Monstrous athlete faced Ezekiel on the Main Event tapings on Monday. There is no word on when he may return to Raw or SmackDown.

The report says that several talents are in the same boat and waiting to learn their direction under the new management. Some have had meetings directly with Triple H about it, but the details of them are unavailable.

Triple H Expected To Stay Aggressive With WWE Returns

Triple H has brought a number of notable names back to WWE in the short while since he took over creative and talent relations duties, and it appears this trend will continue.

Dakota Kai recently revealed that her WWE return at the SummerSlam PPV was a last-minute call. She joined a faction that was originally shot down by Vince McMahon.

Like Kai, Karrion Kross and Scarlett made their surprise return at SmackDown this week. Fightful Select noted that their comeback also came together very quickly.

In addition to these signing, the site claims that there has been talk among Triple H and other higher ups about ‘bolstering’ the main roster. Both Kross and Scarlett were mentioned in these talks.

The Game is not expected to slow down anytime soon. Several other talents have been discussed for a return and a ‘feeling out process’ has occurred.

In his very first week as the head of creative, Triple H has already held private meetings with several talents in his quest to add depth to the WWE roster.

While the report doesn’t state any names, people like Bray Wyatt and Johnny Gargano are heavily rumored for a potential return now that Vince McMahon has stepped down.

Vince McMahon Was ‘Blown Away’ By Recent Work Of WWE Star

Finn Balor originally made his name as the leader of the Bullet Club. So it’s no surprise that Vince McMahon was impressed by his heel work.

The former Universal champion recently spoke to Cheap Heat podcast. He discussed things such as changing his ring gear and more.

When asked if things will change for him now that Triple H is in charge of creative instead of Vince McMahon, Balor mentioned how he gets a feeling of familiarity with The Game because of their history:

“Yeah, obviously I have a very good relationship with Triple H, but with most of the people in the company too. We have worked together a lot in NXT, you know, first and second run in NXT. So I definitely have like a familiarity, more so than I did with Vince.”

However, Finn Balor later explained that Vince McMahon was always good to him too. Balor claimed that McMahon was ‘blown away’ by his heel work as part of the Judgement Day faction:

“But, you know, Vince has always been great to me. He was absolutely blown away by my heel work, which he didn’t think I had in me. So that was nice to hear.”

The Judgement Day is currently feuding with The Mysterios. Balor is scheduled to compete in a match against Rey Mysterio on Raw this Monday.

Kevin Nash Discusses Problem With Raw That Led To Demise Of WCW Nitro

The oversaturation of TV programs is a big problem with wrestling nowadays. Kevin Nash thinks that it’s one of the big issues with WWE.

The wrestling veteran talked about things such as his friend Triple H taking over the WWE creative and more in the latest episode of Kliq This.

Discussing the problems with WWE, Nash mentioned how Raw being three hours long is a big issue. Per Kevin, it’s just too f**king long:

“I think one of the problems that the company has right now is that Raw is three hours long. I thought that was the demise of Nitro when it went three hours.

Three hours is too long, it’s like asking your fanbase every Monday to watch fucking Titanic or Avatar.” said Kevin Nash, “It’s just too fucking long.”

The former nWo member later claimed that he would like Raw to be a mature M-Rated show and be played on Friday nights on FX.

Kevin Nash noted that he is tired of seeing more aggressive language from third graders compared to WWE stars.

What do you think of Nash’s comments about Raw being too long? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

Logan Paul Details WWE Experience: “I’ve Never Felt More Accepted”

Logan Paul has had a couple of matches with WWE so far. The YouTube star seems to be enjoying his experience in the company both on and off screen.

The internet sensation recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show. He talked about things such as his much-talked Frog Splash at SummerSlam and more.

Speaking about his WWE experience, Paul claimed that he has never felt more accepted as an employee. He called WWE a ‘well-oiled machine’:

“I’ve never felt more accepted as an employee, like I work for the WWE. They’re so good man. It is a well-organized machine, and I’m continually surprised by how much they can do. Effectively, too. Some of the sh-t they pull off is unreal.”

Logan Paul also revealed that Triple H has given him advice about moves and the audience. Other people who have helped him include Stephanie McMahon, Nick Khan and Kevin Dunn.

Miro Suggests He ‘Had It Better’ In WWE

Many thought Miro will be presented as a monster and reach main event status in AEW but things haven’t exactly gone the way people expected.

The former US champion hasn’t been featured much on AEW TV in recent times and it appears that he is starting to get frustrated with his spot.

This Friday’s episode of Rampage saw the Interim AEW champion Jon Moxley defeating Mance Warner in a singles match. Miro responded to this bout with a sarcastic tweet, asking who Mox’s opponent was.

A fan then responded to this, referencing the former Rusev’s absence from AEW programming. He suggested that he ‘had it better in WWE’, and the AEW star actually liked this tweet:

Miro was part of the WWE roster from 2010 to 2020. He won the United States title three times during his run with the promotion and was featured regularly on WWE programming.

The heavyweight star has had a run with the TNT championship after joining AEW in 2020. Though fans believe that he is still underutilized in the company. He has not wrestled since the Forbidden Door PPV.

This isn’t the first time Miro has made a move that expresses his disappointment with his spot in the company. Earlier this year, he discussed how his debut in the promotion wasn’t what he was expecting.

Injury At AEW Battle Of The Belts III

The AEW Battle of The Belts III featured some interesting matches. It appears that it also resulted in a legitimate injury for one of the competing stars.

The show that was taped in advance on Friday featured a match for the AEW women’s championship between Thunder Rosa and Jamie Hayter.

After competing at the Battle of The Belts III on Friday, Hayter was pulled from an indie event scheduled for Sunday. Icons of Wrestling promoter Jerry Sorrentino made the announcement:

“I just got a text and a call from Jamie Hayter. She won’t be able to make it tomorrow. I am really sorry as well as Jamie. She really wanted to come and meet everyone. Refunds will be issued. Jamie will be with us for all of the other shows scheduled this year.”

Jamie Hayter Injured

A report from Fightful Select revealed the reason behind this change. They noted that Hayter sustained a broken nose during her bout.

It’s unknown whether the female star will be missing any extended ring time due to the injury. Though she was able to finish the championship match at the show.

Apart from this, the Battle of The Belts III featured matches such as Wardlow vs. Jay Lethal and Claudio Castagnoli vs. Konosuke Takeshita. You can check out the complete results from the show here.

WWE Star Injured At Live Event On Saturday

It appears that former SmackDown women’s champion Carmella suffered an injury during the most recent WWE Live Event from North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, SC.

The event that took place Saturday night featured a triple threat match involving The Staten Island Princess, The Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair and Asuka.

Early in the match, Carmella got out of the ring and wouldn’t get back in. Her opponents started calling her chicken and the audience started chanting it too.

However, when Bianca tried to do a backflip over her, the WWE star appears to have hit her head in the corner and suffered a legitimate injury.

The referee threw the x sign and medical staff arrived to check on the female star. The good news is that she was able to walk back on her own, though the staff was shielding her eyes from bright lights:

Carmella’s husband and WWE announcer Corey Graves wasn’t happy that he found out about the injury via Twitter. He made a post about it, though it was deleted quickly:

graves

Bianca Belair went on to win the match and she celebrated with the fans. There is no word yet on if Carmella’s injury is anything serious but we’ll keep you posted on her status.

CM Punks Feels ‘Solidarity’ With Sasha Banks Over WWE Walk Out

CM Punk is one of the faces of the anti-WWE movement. He has been critical of the company’s policies since infamously walking out in 2014. Punk has been taking shots at the promotion regularly since his return to pro wrestling last year.

The Straight Edge Star recently spoke to The Hashtag Show. Talking about Sasha Banks taking a path similar to his own, the AEW world champion mentioned how he was the first guy to go ‘through the wall.’ Punk claimed that he feels solidarity with Banks, and he is always going to support anyone who stands up against WWE:

“Somebody on Twitter is gonna be mad at me. My thing is always I can’t listen to people criticise me if I wouldn’t ask advise from them. You can’t lead people somewhere you’ve never gone; I try to be as humble as I can be and I don’t like talking about myself but I was the first guy through the wall. I got fucking bloodied for it, you know what I mean?” asked CM Punk,

He continued “To watch somebody else stand up and walk out, I’m always gonna support that. One hundred fucking percent. I’ve never met Mercedes. I don’t know her, but I definitely feel solidarity with her. I know how that place is, I know how women are treated there. I’m not a woman myself, so I can’t put myself in those shoes, but there’s probably a lot of reasons why she peaced out.”

CM Punk also discussed topics such as the current landscape of pro wrestling. You can check out his interview below:

CM Punk Reveals Thoughts On Current Pro Wrestling Landscape

The landscape of pro wrestling has seen a major shift in the last few years. On one hand, companies like AEW have risen that have reignited the interest of many lapsed fans. On the other hand, the ever-declining TV ratings of WWE have led many to believe that we are witnessing the death of pro wrestling. CM Punk is aware of both these sentiments.

The AEW champion spoke to The Hashtag Show over the Starrcast weekend. He was asked for his thoughts on the current pro wrestling landscape. Replying to it, Punk said that he thinks pro wrestling is thriving, though he acknowledged the different opinions:

“It depends on your perspective. It depends on how grumpy I am that day. You can go either way. You can say that, ‘Oh man, wrestling’s dying.’ Or you can say ‘Well look at it, it’s thriving.'” For the first time there’s a second company that’s viable and I’m not gonna say it’s a viable threat.” said CM Punk,

He continued, “It’s just a viable, healthy company. A second place where men and women can get paid to wrestle in ring on television. I know there’s people that think dynamite is the greatest thing in the world. There’s people that think dynamite isn’t good. People that think it’s somewhere in the middle, it could be better.  But because we’re having that conversation, I supposed pro wrestling is thriving.”

CM Punk later mentioned how Dynamite is a show where you can watch different styles of wrestling in one place. You can check out his interview below:

Bayley Reveals Which NXT Star She Considers Her ‘Wrestling Baby’

Bayley made her wrestling debut in 2008 and joined NXT in 2013. Since then, the former women’s champion hasn’t looked back and she has only become more successful with each passing year. In her almost decade long WWE career, the former women’s champion has also inspired many young talents to pursue wrestling. One such talent is the current NXT star Indi Hartwell, who Bayley considers to be her ‘wrestling baby.’

The female star recently appeared on Corey Graves’ After The Bell podcast. Speaking about her rehab from the recent ACL injury, the former champion discussed how she worked with NXT 2.0 stars in the performance center during her recovery. She also explained why she has a soft spot for Hartwell:

“At first I went in just wanting to train with Indi Hartwell because she is, to me what I call our little wrestling baby. Because she is the first person, at least in my knowledge that [started] training because of the match I had with Sasha [Banks] at [Takeover] Brooklyn.

She said she watched that match and the next day she signed up for wrestling training.” revealed Bayley, “So the fact that she made it to NXT and she’s been there for a few years has been [incredible]. When she got signed, I couldn’t believe it. I’m like ‘Our little baby made it!’ So I always had a soft spot for her.”

What Happened With Bobby Lashley After SmackDown Went Off Air

This week’s episode of SmackDown ended on a high note with Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre and the WWE return of Karrion Kross & Scarlett.

The returning star attacked The Scottish Warrior from behind. He then sent a message to the current WWE Universal Champion, hinting at a future feud.

Though this wasn’t the end of the night, and fans in the Bon Secours Wellness Arena got to see the United States champion Bobby Lashley defending his title against Ciampa in a dark match after SmackDown.

The bout was about 10 minutes long, and it saw the former NXT champion playing the heel. He gained the upper hand over Lashley early on after rolling out of the ring and making the champion run after him.

The ending of the bout then saw the All Mighty reversing a move from his opponent and delivering a big spear to win the match and retain his title.

Tommaso Ciampa had been paired with The Miz early in his main roster run and presented as a mid card talent, but things have changed since Triple H took over the WWE creative.

There have been reports that Ciampa will be presented as a big star moving forward. This past Monday’s Raw was a testament of things to come.

The episode saw the former NXT star picking up not one but two big victories to become the new #1 contender for the US title. He is now scheduled to challenge Lashley in a Televised match on Raw next Monday.

WWE Announces Starting Date For Women’s Tag Team Title Tournament

WWE has confirmed that the announced tournament to crown new Women’s Tag Team Champions will finally begin on Raw this Monday.

The tag titles have been vacant since the last champions Sasha Banks and Naomi infamously walked out of the May 16 episode of the Red Branded Show.

The duo reportedly left the women’s tag titles on the desk of the then Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis.

WWE went on to bury both Banks and her partner on TV after this, and they announced a tournament to crown new champions.

However, the company provided no update on the announced tournament in the following weeks, leaving fans puzzled about the future of the titles.

WWE saw a big behind the scene change between this, with Vince McMahon retiring from the company and Triple H taking over the creative duties.

Now the promotion has confirmed that the tournament will finally begin on Monday. Though they have not revealed the brackets for the same just yet.

There has also been reports that both Sasha Banks and Naomi could be returning to WWE soon but there is no update on if any creative plans are in place for the former champions.

Potential Reason Why Vince McMahon Changed His Mind About Retirement

Vince McMahon’s abrupt WWE departure is still a puzzling development. Famous for his work ethic, people thought that McMahon will work till his wheels fell off. Even when the allegations against him first came to light, the boss had been promising talent that he was going to stick around. Many still wonder what made him change his mind.

Dave Meltzer believes the prospect of hurting the legacy of the company could have been the reason behind this change. The wrestling journalist opened up about McMahon’s departure on Talk Is Jericho. He explained what could have forced the former WWE chairman to change his mind:

“Obviously there was something huge. I’m sure it was not a voluntary decision, but it was one of those things where you are now in a position where you’re going to hurt the company. I do believe that if Vince McMahon thought that he was going to hurt the company by staying that he would leave.

I think that’s the one thing he would do. He’s not gonna take his legacy down. The WWE is his life legacy. He’s gonna be there long after he’s gone. I don’t think he wants to be the one to take it down, I think he wants it to live forever.”

Meltzer also talked about the allegations against Mr. McMahon. He explained how the the board of directors first became aware of the accusations despite an NDA being signed. You can check out his comments here.

Backstage News On How Vince McMahon Allegations Came To Light

The wrestling world has been shaken with the retirement of Vince McMahon. The majority of the wresting fans didn’t expect to see this day anytime soon. However, in only a few short weeks, the boss has not only been forced to relinquish all his positions in the company but his name has essentially been erased from the promotion.

It all started with the first allegation that was made against the boss back in March. It was revealed that McMahon had signed an NDA worth $3 million with a released WWE employee. Dave Meltzer discussed it during his appearance on Talk Is Jericho. He explained how the allegations became public despite an NDA:

“She had an NDA, somehow one of her friends found out. Her friend sent a message to every member of the board [of directors]. So this would have been in late March saying, ‘This is what happened.’ [She was] very negative about [WWE attorny] Jerry McDevitt , like pressuring her and things like that.

She [the ex-employee] couldn’t come out but somebody did, and they investigated and found out that it was real. In the investigation they found out it was not the first NDA. That there had been several others over the years.”

The discovery of the first NDA led to further investigation. It unearthed more nondisclosure agreements related to misconduct claims against Vince McMahon totalling $12 Million. These NDAs had not been disclosed in WWE’s SEC filing which is believed to be a big reason why the WWE owner had to leave the promotion.

MJF Has ‘Vanished’ From The Wrestling World (Report)

Both AEW and Tony Khan have kept quiet about MJF since his Dynamite promo, and the wrestling star himself also seems to be maintaining his silence very well.

According to Fightful Select, the Salt of the Earth has effectively ‘vanished’ from the wrestling world. They have not heard from a single AEW talent who has admitted to hearing from the young star since his explosive promo.

Plenty of people who have worked with him or are close to the wrestling star have also denied having any communication with him. Tony Khan has not talked about him to anyone since his Dynamite appearance either.

The report noted that MJF remained in Los Angeles for a few days after his last AEW appearance. Although he was there conducting non-wrestling meetings.

His latest sighting was in New Jersey last week, where he was filming with crew members of Impractical Jokers. Though it’s not confirmed whether he was shooting something for the show.

There are people within the company that still believe MJF is on his way out. The belief is he wants to join WWE instead.

On the contrary, a lot of fans think that this is all a work and Tony Khan is holding off MJF’s return for a CM Punk confrontation. Whether or not that actually happens will be revealed when Punk comes back.

Bayley Explains Idea Behind Her New Faction

Bayley made her triumphant return at SummerSlam but she wasn’t alone. She shared her moment with Dakota Kai and Io Sky and formed a new faction with both the stars.

The former women’s champion talked about her new group on After The Bell. She explained that it’s something that she had wanted for a while and they had considered different versions of the group. The idea was that it would help evolve her character:

“This is something that I’ve wanted for a while, I would say a couple of years. [It’s] actually something that I’ve talked to Hunter about before. Just wanting something different for the division and using girls that I think were either underutilized or that didn’t get that opportunity or didn’t get that spotlight. Just a way to evolve myself as in like many different variations of this faction or group that I wanted.”

‘Ultimate Goal Of Everybody’: Bayley

Bayley made her return at SummerSlam

Though as she got the time to think more about it during her rehab, Bayley realized that she wanted to help underutilized talents. She wanted to take names that hadn’t been on Raw or SmackDown and get them to WrestleMania level:

“But as I got injured and got to spend more time really thinking about it, I knew that I wanted literally girls who haven’t had the opportunity [to be on] Raw or Smackdown or that haven’t been given an opportunity to feel what WrestleMania is like. Because that’s the ultimate goal of everybody.

I just felt like if I look for girls that haven’t had that yet, just the hunger is gonna be that much stronger. It’s just gonna be fresher for the fans and fresher for the locker room where they’ll get excited to work with different people.” said Bayley, “So once I thought of it like that. [I] thought let me look at NXT. It was so easy. I knew who I wanted and I knew who could benefit from it. I knew who I can benefit from.”

Watch: ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan Provides Emotional Update On Cancer Treatment

WWE Legend ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan has provided a great news about his health to his fans and confirmed that he is officially cancer free.

The WWE Hall of Famer shared a video on Instagram. It showed him ringing the cancer bell that hospitals have to celebrate the end of treatment for cancer patients.

In an emotional speech, Duggan mentioned how he had been listening to other people ringing the bell for weeks. He had been looking forward to getting the chance himself:

“For 8 weeks I’ve been coming by, looking at this bell, listening to the other folks coming by and ringing the bell,” said Jim Duggan, “I’ve been looking forward to it.”

The wrestling veteran went on to thank his doctors, nurses and technicians as well as his family, friends and all the fans for their support.

Jim Duggan underwent a procedure to remove his prostate in October 2021. He had announced later that year that he was cancer free.

Unfortunately for the former WWE star, the cancer returned in March earlier this year. He described it as a ‘terrifying time’ for his family and confirmed that he would have to undergo treatment.

Has The Backstage Environment Changed After Vince McMahon’s Retirement

Fans were expecting major changes in WWE after Vince McMahon’s retirement. However, we have only seen small adjustments both on screen and behind the scenes as well.

WWE star Butch, previously known as Pete Dunne had an interview with Digital Spy. When asked about the backstage environment, he reiterated the remarks of Ciampa.

Butch revealed just like fans, people backstage were also shocked upon hearing the news of McMahon’s retirement last month. Though according to him, things have been ‘strangely normal’ since then:

“To be honest, up till now, it all feels strangely normal. Even the day when we were at SmackDown and we got notified that Vince had retired, obviously there’s that second of people looking around like, ‘Did you see that? Can you believe this has happened?’

But then after that,” recalled Butch, “Everyone’s so focused on the job that’s at hand it kind of feels strangely normal but exciting at the same time.”

The former NXT UK champion also discussed Triple H taking over the WWE creative. He claimed that the former world champion is extremely approachable.

He explained that Triple H is someone who is excited to put out the best content he can, and it’s what the Black and Gold NXT was all about.

Update On Length Of Booker T’s WWE Contract

Despite not having wrestled a televised match in over a decade, Booker T knows how to remain in news. He continues making headlines one way or the other.

With AEW successfully using legends like Sting and Tully Blanchard to help promote younger talents, many wonder if we can see the former WCW champion joining Tony Khan’s promotion anytime in the near future.

T was asked about this on the latest episode of his Hall of Fame podcast. Replying to it, Booker revealed that he actually has a lot of time left on his contract with WWE:

“I got about six years left on my contract, seven maybe, I ain’t going nowhere, man. I’m never going to say never, or anything like that, but I actually love where I’m at with the WWE.”

– Booker T

Booker T does make indie appearances every now and then while also running his Reality of Wrestling promotion from the Houston area.

The former world champion just recently created some buzz by returning to in-ring action for a 10 men tag team match at an ROW event.

Though despite his recent outing, Booker T has claimed that he has no intention of holding a ‘Ric Flair’s Last Match’ type event of his own.

Latest On Lex Lugar’s Health

Lex Lugar had a wrestling career spanning two decades across multiple well-known promotions. At 64 years old, the former WWE star says that it’s mind-boggling how good of a shape he is in.

The latest episode of Biography: WWE Legends on A&E will focus on the former world champion. He spoke to Sports Illustrated to promote the upcoming documentary.

During the interview, Lugar provided some updates on his health. He claimed that it’s a miracle of God how good of a shape he is in:

“It’s mind-boggling. I’m in phenomenal health, other than my mobility issues from my spinal cord issue, I’m very healthy, and that’s a miracle of God after what I put my body through. I usually use a wheelchair or a walker, but I can walk some.”

The former WCW star then mentioned that he has great mobility and he can drive. Though he also revealed some concerning issues:

“I have great mobility; I drive. But you know how your power will go out for a moment during a storm? That can happen to me, and I’m on the floor before I know it.

So I take a lot of precautions. I live totally independently, which wasn’t supposed to happen. I don’t look the same because I don’t hit the weights like I used to, but I’m healthy.”

The retired wrestling star commented on the potential of a Hall of Fame induction as well. Lex Lugar said that the honor would be a cherry on the top of his career and he might ‘pop out of the chair’ for it.
