Latest On Kenny Omega’s Health

Many expected Kenny Omega to be back by the time for Revolution when he first took time off from AEW programming.

The PPV came and went without a sign of the former AEW champion. Latest reports now suggest that fans will have to wait even longer for the Cleaner’s return.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently provided some update on the AEW star. He noted that Omega is currently recovering from an arthroscopic knee surgery which takes about 10 weeks.

In addition to the knee surgery, Kenny Omega is expected to undergo procedure for a sports hernia at the end of March. The usual recovery time for this is two months.

Meltzer noted that apart from this “there’s also other things he’s taking care of.” With all the issues he has been dealing with, there is currently no timetable for his return.

The former IWGP heavyweight champion himself commented on his hiatus last month. He had noted how they initially expected him to be back by February but it doesn’t appear to be the case anymore.

Though this doesn’t mean Omega is not involved with the company in other capacity. He has been working on the AEW video game in the meantime and has also been thinking about his post wrestling career.

Possible Reason Behind CM Punk’s Absence From AEW Programming

CM Punk missed both Dynamite and Rampage this week. His absence has surprised fans and caused many rumors about the reason behind it.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer recently talked about the former world champion. He revealed a potential reason why he didn’t appear on AEW programming.

Meltzer noted that the filming of the second season of Heelz will be taking place over the next several weeks. CM Punk is reportedly going to reprise his role.

The AEW star played the character of a heel wrestler Ricky Rabies in season one of the series. This is likely the reason for his absence from both the weekly TV shows.

CM Punk had teased that he would go after Hangman Page’s AEW title following Revolution. It’s possible that this feud will kick off once he returns.

Starring Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig, Heelz is a pro wrestling drama series. Amell plays the role of Jack Spade in the show and Ludwig plays his brother Ace Spade.

Heelz focuses on the struggles of the two brothers as they fight over the control of their late father’s wrestling promotion Duffy Wrestling League in Duffy, Georgia.

Jeff Hardy Explains Incident Leading To WWE Release

Jeff Hardy’s high publicized exit from WWE made a lot of headlines last year. It started with Hardy walking out of a live event mid-match and being sent home as a result. The WWE officials then offered him rehab and the former world champion was released from his contract when he refused.

There was a lot of confusion about the incident at the time. Matt Hardy had said that his brother would explain his side of the story when the time comes. The charismatic enigma finally opened up about it on The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy.

Hardy first claimed that certain things happen for a reason. He believes that he was guided by something higher than him:

“Certain things happen for a reason. Subconsciously, that was maybe the smartest thing I’ve ever done, guided by something higher than me, I’ll say. The best way I can describe my journey the last few months in WWE was like ‘glimmers of hope, maybe I still do have something.’”

‘One Of The Smartest Things I Have Done’

Jeff Hardy explained that he had some glimmers of hope at times during his run in WWE. Though there were other times when he wondered why was he even with the company. Per Hardy, he didn’t feel important in the promotion anymore:

“That night in Edinburg, Texas, I finished my heat, I took the heat, and I said, ‘I’m ready to go’. Went over the rail, disappeared into the crowd. Naturally, they think I took something like drugs or whatever, but I didn’t. If I was that bad, I should have never went out there, that’s the way I see it.

I thought, ‘Just another unpredictable thing I can do and I’ll get away with it’. It was more serious than that. Again, it was one of the smartest things I’ve ever done because everything worked out so perfectly, mainly because my first day in AEW, I felt valuable for the first time.”

The former champion claimed that he gets chills thinking about the care and love he was shown in AEW. In WWE, he felt like they just wanted to keep him there to sell action figures. He also mentioned how he is excited about having his first action figure with face paint in AEW.

How USA Network Feels About NXT 2.0 Ratings

The rebranded NXT 2.0 has so far failed to impress fans with the viewership numbers but it appears that USA Network officials are happy with it.

The development brand has been averaging about 600k viewers. Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast recently discussed these numbers.

The wrestling journalist revealed that he recently had a conversation with someone from USA Network. They told him ‘Yeah, we’re fine with the six-somethings.’

He mentioned how the show was in the range of 700k viewers with the slammed roster during the black and gold era of the development brand.

The USA Network doesn’t care if there are more main roster stars making appearances on the show, and they are happy with the current ratings.

WWE made a deal to broadcast NXT on USA Network every Wednesday night in August 2019. The show made its TV debut in September.

After constantly failing to beat AEW’s weekly flagship Dynamite in ratings, the black and yellow brand was moved to Tuesday nights in April 2021.

The September 14, 2021 episode of the show then saw the beginning of the 2.0 era for the brand, with a focus on younger talents and a completely different setup compared to its previous iteration.

WWE Acknowledges Success Of AEW In Motion Against MLW Lawsuit

AEW has seen exceptional growth for a company that is less than 3 years old. So much so that even WWE has been forced to acknowledge their success.

The Vince McMahon-owned promotion is currently facing a lawsuit from MLW, who have accused the company of trying to monopolize the wrestling market.

In response to the lawsuit, WWE filed a 35-page motion. Dave Meltzer noted how WWE brought up the October 15, 2021 episode of SmackDown to prove that they are not a dominant monopoly.

The episode saw the final 30 minutes of the blue branded show going head-to-head with Rampage. The AEW show beat SmackDown in the 18-49 male demo 0.34 to 0.32.

The response further mentioned how AEW managed to capture an average 0.344 rating in the 18-49 demo in 2020. This was in comparison to Raw’s 0.5075 rating in the same demo.

WWE’s response used AEW’s ‘successful entry and expansion’ to refute claims that substantial barriers to entry exists in the market.

MLW, who have accused WWE of interfering in their deal with Tubi and preventing it from happening, have not responded to this motion yet. We’ll keep you updated on further developments.

William Regal Reveals Injury Has Caused Him To Lose 40% Vision In Left Eye

William Regal has had one hardcore wrestling career. It’s reflected on the various injuries the wrestling veteran had to deal with and is still dealing with to this day.

The former NXT General Manager opened up about his various health issues on Talk Is Jericho. This included the one time when he was told he had only 24 hours left to live.

Regal also revealed another issue that he is still dealing with to this day. He recalled how he fell down an escalator during a tour to Costa Rica and shattered his eye socket:

“I was in hospital for a week in Costa Rica. And I shattered my eye socket, had three weeks of amnesia, and lost 40% vision in my left eye, which I still haven’t got. Everything is grey, I can see, but it’s all grey.

Head injury, finally they got me back home,” said William Regal, “and I was doing some pretty mental things, unfortunately, my wife had to go through.”

The wrestling legend mentioned how he was lucky that Ryan Katz found him and got help. He doesn’t remember the immediate aftermath of the injury because of amnesia.

Apart from this, Regal discussed his relationship with Bryan Danielson. He detailed his emotional last match with Danielson. You can check out his comments here.

News On Joey Janela’s Backstage Heat In AEW

Joey Janela has not wrestled for AEW since January. His absence had made many fans wonder about his status with the promotion.

The AEW star himself mentioned in an interview that he might have heat backstage for an incident where he injured Eddie Kingston with a superkick.

Mike Johnson of PWinsider provided some update on it. He confirmed that Janela’s suspicion was right. The injury which delayed Kingston’s feud with Chris Jericho got him heat backstage:

“There was a lot of heat on him for the Kingston injury, as it prevented Kingston from traveling for several weeks and changed plans for TV and the Jericho feud as the promotion waited for Kingston to heal.

The report also noted that apart from Kingston, the internal belief among AEW officials is that several other talents have been hurt while working with Janela.

The Bad Boy has not been brought in since AEW’s TV taping in Charlotte, North Carolina. His current contract expires in late April and the hardcore star is not expected to be utilized again before that.

AEW has the policy of not releasing talents mid-contract and letting the deals expire instead. As of right now, a contract renewal for Joey Janela seems very unlikely.

Steve Austin “Getting Back Into In-Ring Shape” For WrestleMania

While Kevin Owens is getting ready to host a talk show at WrestleMania 38, his guest Stone Cold Steve Austin is getting ready for a fight.

The Texas Rattlesnake recently appeared on Rich Eisen Show. On the potential of having one last match, the wrestling veteran said ‘never say never.’

Steve Austin recalled how he didn’t want to leave when he was forced to retire. So this comeback means a lot to him and he is getting back into in ring shape for it:

“When I left, I didn’t want to leave. WrestleMania 19, my neck had presented some problems. After I got spiked and dropped on my head back in 99, I had three, four fused up, and it was time for me to ride off into the sunset and do something else.

This comeback means a lot to me as I’ve been getting back into in-ring shape.” said Steve Austin, “I’m gonna go out there and do the absolute best I can … I’m doing this for the fans. I’m doing this for WWE. I’m doing this for me, number one.”

VanZant joined WFAN’s Carton & Roberts for an interview recently. She mentioned how people have the wrong idea that you have to stick to just one thing:

“I’m not done MMA fighting at all. I think people have this idea that you have to stick with one thing, but being a mixed martial artist, and being in this sport, you can evolve and can focus on one aspect at any given time.

Definitely not retired from MMA,” said Paige VanZant, “but at this current moment, I am signed to [professional boxing and professional wrestling].”

William Regal Recalls Emotional Last Match With Bryan Danielson

William Regal has a long history with Bryan Danielson with many chapters in it. One such chapter was when Regal wrestled the former world champion in what he thought was his last match. This match, which was one of the wrestling veteran’s final outings in the ring, took place during a Superstars episode in November 2011. It was also the final time the two superstars shared a ring for a bout. The former NXT GM had suffered a leg injury the night before but Bryan carried him masterfully without letting anyone know about his injury.

Regal told his story during his appearance on Talk Is Jericho. He mentioned how he decided to put Bryan over because of their history together. Recalling the incident made Regal emotional:

“I tore me meniscus in my right leg. The next night I’m on with Bryan. They were going ‘no you can’t wrestle, you can’t wrestle.’ I said ‘no I want to put him over because he is the person who has stuck around me and listened to all my nonsense for the last [so many years] and comment and called me and sent me stuff. And I’ve sent him to places and put good words in for him and whatever else. If there is one person I wanna to have my last match with its him.’ So if you watch that match, you will see me walk down to the ring and then they actually played a rib on me. [They] played my old Man’s man music halfway down the ramp. I’m glad because they had to help me in the building that day. I couldn’t walk. I don’t like giving away this you know, that old fashioned things.

But If you watch that match it’s 17 minutes of him carrying me because I can’t walk,” said William Regal. He got emotional telling the story and took a moment to compose himself. “Sorry,” he continued. “He did a masterful job. He actually even wrestled and did stuff on my leg without bending it.”

‘This Lad’s Something Special’

Bryan Danielson and William Regal
Bryan Danielson and William Regal

After all the effort Bryan Danielson put in the match to make it memorable for Regal, the wrestling veteran was praying that people in the office would take notice of the former ROH star. This is exactly what happened. Bryan was playing a heel in the match. His performance impressed the boss himself, leading to a heel push:

“If you know that. You go into that [match] with this [knowledge] and watch what a masterful job he did of carrying me. He even made it look like he bent my leg around the corner post and never bent. We came out there and I thought [I’ll] put in [a word for him]. I was happy. [I thought] hopefully somebody is gonna pay attention to this because this lad’s something special, which they already were. But it was just my little thing. [I believed] that’s it. I’m done now, I’m probably [done wrestling] That’s it. because I was already doing bits of commentary. [I thought] That’s it, I’m gone.

I came back and Mr. McMahon was there. I never thought he watched Superstars. He was right there to [see] me. He shook hands and Bryan walked off. He went. ‘Thank you very much.’ He said ‘That was a good old proper wrestling match.’ He said ‘that lads gonna make a good villain, ain’t he?'”

Swerve Strickland On If Triple H Played Favorites In NXT

While Triple H didn’t pick his favorites during his time as the head of NXT, he did have a core group of talents he preferred over others, according to Swerve Strickland.

The now former WWE star appeared on the Getting Over podcast. Among other things, he discussed how The Game ran the development brand during his time there.

Strickland said that Triple H didn’t buy into him until Hit Row became a thing. He then explained how the WWE EVP chose which guys he wanted to push:

“He’s one of those guys like, he has those talents on the show that he knows and he’s well-acquainted with and it’s hard for him to deviate from those guys. When he’s set on someone, he’s set on them.

Anybody who says that he doesn’t, like, I wouldn’t call it picking favorites,” said Swerve Strickland, “but if somebody says he doesn’t have his core guys, you’re one of the core guys. You know what I mean?”

The AEW star continued his explanation saying that Triple H missed out on people like Matt Riddle and Bianca Belair because he was focused on his core group of talent.

According to him, when you are running a weekly product like NXT, you have to prefer some people over others. You want to go to your guaranteed guys.

Alongside people such as The Undertaker and Vader, the 2022 Hall Of Fame class will also feature former WWE star and the wife of Booker T, Sharmell.

The former WCW world champion talked about this induction in detail during the latest episode of his Hall Of Fame podcast, alongside other things.

Booker claimed that he is proud to see his queen take her place inside the Hall Of Fame. According to him, it’s the ultimate stamp of approval:

“I’m happy and I’m proud to see my queen take her place inside the Hall of Fame. I’ve always said it many times that Sharmell didn’t get the recognition that a lot of the girls have always got, but this is the ultimate recognition.

It’s the ultimate stamp of approval” said Booker T, “saying we really appreciate everything that you’ve done for the business as well as for this company.”

The WWE Hall Of Famer mentioned how Sharmell worked as a Nitro girl in WCW before the company went under. She then went to OVW.

Booker revealed that his wife was part of the same OVW class as Randy Orton and Batista but her in ring career ended because of a knee injury.

Hulk Hogan Pays Emotional Tribute To Scott Hall (Video)

Wrestling lost one of the most influential people in the history of the business with the passing of Scott Hall. The original bad guy was taken off life support on Monday afternoon and he passed away later in the day. The wrestling world has poured out tributes for the late legend since the news broke out. Hulk Hogan, who lived many of Hall’s career highlights beside him, also paid an emotional tribute to his friend.

The Hulkster gave a speech at his Hogan’s Hangout bar in Tampa, Florida. He mentioned how Hall took care of him and taught him how to be a bad guy. When everyone thought Hulkamania was dead, it was Hall who resurrected him. Hulk claimed that he has nothing but love for his nWo teammate:

“Hey yo. Thank you guys for being here. A short while ago, a good friend of mine just passed away. Scott Hall. So in Jesus name I pray, thank you God for taking care of my brother.” said Hulk Hogan, “He took care of me when I was down and out and everyone thought Hulkamania was dead. Scott Hall resurrected me, he put me back on the map. I love him so much I can’t even explain it to you.

Hogan continued, “He had a bunch of faults but he was a good guy. I just wanna everyone know here that he’s in our thoughts and prayers tonight. He just passed. I had a real hard time getting my act together and getting over here. Bad times don’t last but bad guys do. For the original bad guy that took Hulk Hogan and taught Hollywood how to be a bad guy. I got nothing but love 4 life, brother.”

Chris Jericho Thinks Triple H May Have Kept Him Out of the WM2000 Main Event

Chris Jericho made his WWE debut in 1999 and he instantly become a big star in the company. Jericho believes he could have even had his first WrestleMania main event within a year, if it wasn’t for Triple H. Y2J was interviewed on the latest episode of The Kurt Angle Show where they discussed the various stages of Jericho’s career.

During the talk, the AEW star claimed that he was originally supposed to be a part of the fatal four-way main event of WrestleMania 2000. He was going to be the fourth participant of the bout instead of Mick Foley:

“The original plan for that WrestleMania if you remember, it was a four-way title match with a McMahon in every corner. It was [The] Rock, Big Show, Triple H and Mick Foley. With Vince, Shane, Linda and Stephanie with whoever they were with. The original plan for that match was Hunter, Rock, Big Show and Jericho. And if you think that I’m just saying that because I heard rumors or someone told me, they actually made promotional pieces for the match.”

Chris Jericho showed a press kit for WrestleMania 2000 which featured his photo with the other three participants. He also recalled seeing a billboard on Sunset Boulevard with the same picture. However, he thinks that Vince McMahon didn’t believe in him enough at the time to put him in the spot:

“I think Vince just didn’t have the belief in me, I guess to put me in that spot yet. So he brought Mick back. That was after Mick had retired. I think Mick told me that Vince offered him enough money to pay his kids’ college educations. So he came back.”

“There Was A lot Of Politics At That Time” Says Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho

Interestingly enough, Jericho believes that his heat with Triple H during the early days might have cost him the opportunity. He mentioned how he is cool with The Game now but it wasn’t always the case:

“There was a lot a lot of politics at that time. When I say this, it’s not from a bitter point of view or an angry point of view. It’s just the way it was. So to come in, there was a lot of legit heat between Hunter and myself. [It] Involved China, [It] involved a little bit X Pac as well. But Hunter and I just didn’t like each other and I think Hunter had such a pull at the time, such power that if he didn’t like me of course, [he could have gotten me removed]. Even if he’s not going out of his way to bury me to Vince, I am sure every time my name came up he would be like ‘ugh, that guy? come on.’

It’s just kind of the way the business worked at the time. So I think that might have had a lot to do with it. [Hunter probably said] ‘You don’t want Jericho, is that a big enough name? Bring back Foley or see if Austin’s available.’ Or whatever it may be. That kind of [was] one of the reasons. Once again, I’m not saying that I’ve heard this. I just can tell. I can read the room for the past that we had. We’re really cool now but at the time we just fucking didn’t like each other, [it] just didn’t work.”

Bron Breakker Reacts To NXT Title Loss: “It Is What It Is”

Bron Breakker is still trying to digest his NXT championship loss to Dolph Ziggler, though he is promising that this story is far from over.

The now former champion had an interview with Dallas News. He discussed things such as his Raw debut, a potential move to main roster, and more.

Speaking about losing the NXT title to Ziggler during the Roadblock event this past Tuesday, Breakker said that he is no way close to being done with the Show Off:

“I’m … I’m still in a little bit of shock. You know, it is what it is. There’s nothing I can do about it now. It’s over. You just wake up, dust myself off, back to work.

As far as Dolph Ziggler goes – and Bobby Roode, for that matter – we are no way close to being done.” said Bron Breakker, “I’m sure I’ll run into them again down the line. But, I just got to get better.”

The NXT star also talked about his Raw debut and getting to work with veterans such as Ziggler, Tommaso Ciampa and Robert Roode just in the past few weeks.

Original WrestleMania Plans For Big E Before Neck Injury

WWE had planned a New Day reunion for this year’s edition of WrestleMania before Big E suffered the unfortunate neck injury at Friday’s SmackDown.

PWinsider recently provided some update on the former WWE champion. They revealed what the officials were planning for him before this week’s episode of the blue branded show.

According to the site, Big E and Kofi Kingston were supposed to reunite with Xavier Woods soon. These three were expected to take on Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Butch at WrestleMania 38.

Woods suffered a muscle tear while wrestling against The Usos back in January. He was expected to stay out of action for 4 to 6 weeks.

Ridge Holland was drafted to the SmackDown brand during the 2021 draft. He has been paired with Sheamus since his arrival on the main roster.

This week’s episode of the blue branded show saw Pete Dunne joining this team. Now renamed to Butch, Dunne was introduced as Sheamus’ protégé.

The WrestleMania plans are obviously up in the air now with Big E suffering a broken neck. The good news is that he won’t require surgery.

There is no word on how long he may stay out of action but at this point, competing at the Show of Shows seems very unlikely for the New Day member.

Ric Flair Interested In Managing Cesaro

Cesaro has not revealed his next move after his WWE departure yet but Ric Flair is interested in managing the Swiss Superman in AEW if he gets the chance.

On the 16th episode of his Woo Nation Uncensored podcast, the 16-time world champion discussed things such as Jeff Hardy’s AEW debut and more.

He was also asked if he would like to manage the former WWE star. Replying to it, Flair said that he would love to teach Cesaro how to be nasty:

“Manage him? I’d love it! Then you work on him with little things that make him nasty. You’ve never seen him be nasty. You take a guy with his skill and his strength and teach how to be nasty, just little tricks of the trade, he’d be really hot.

If I was managing him, I would call Tony Khan out to the ring and I’d knock him down from behind” said Ric Flair, “and have Cesaro give him a giant swing and put him in a hospital for a month.”

The wrestling veteran also talked about Cesaro’s WWE career. He said that the former US champion’s matches with Seth Rollins were the high point of his career.

Flair explained that he liked the Bar but his matches with Seth were really good. He claimed that he has never seen Cesaro have a bad match.

Lince Dorado On Why He Quit WWE: ‘They’re A Movie Company’

WWE let go a lot of stars for budgetary reasons last year. However, Lince Dorado was one of the few names who actually went ahead and asked for his release from the promotion. Per the former Lucha House Party member, he was very frustrated with the lack of collaboration in WWE’s storytelling. He couldn’t continue bringing the frustration home to his family, so he decided to quit the company.

The high flyer appeared on The Sessions with Renée Paquette. He discussed how he had a well-paying job with the promotion and it was difficult to quit. According to him, for somebody who loves pro wrestling, the job of showing up and doing what you were told was very easy. On the same time, it was very frustrating for someone who wanted to contribute more than that.

“Of course, it was difficult to say I quit, right? Because that’s ultimately what I did. I quit. I said, ‘this is not for me, because you’ll not fulfilling me creatively.’ The job was easy, Renee. The job is easy for somebody who loves pro wrestling, the job is easy, but [for] somebody who loves pro wrestling, the job is very frustrating.” said Lince Dorado, “Because WWE is not a wrestling company. They’re a movie company. Somebody who loves pro wrestling and understands that and wants to contribute, it’s frustrating.

I kept going home and bringing home back [that frustration], taking that frustration back on my family and being so secluded. Just not wanting to be around anybody. Even to the point of my kids, they know not to watch my matches. They don’t watch my matches [because] daddy loses. They’re just so numb to wrestling because of that feeling. It’s just frustrating. [With all that] I was like, ‘You know what? fuck that. I would never ever jeopardize my family’s integrity and mood because I feel like I’m not getting what I deserve or what we deserved.'”

MVP Provides Update On Recovery From Knee Injury

When MVP underwent a knee surgery back in September last year, it was estimated that he would stay out of action for 4 to 6 weeks. However, 6 months later, the former US champion is yet to return to in-ring action for WWE. This has made many wonder about his health and recovery.

MVP himself provided some update on his condition on Wrestling With Freddie podcast. He claimed that he is going through physical assessment to get cleared:

“I’m going through my physical assessment to get cleared to get back in the ring because I had that knee injury for a while. It’s all healed up, it’s just a matter of me jumping through hoops to make sure I’m physically capable of performing in the ring. I’m feeling good. “

MVP revealed that his torn meniscus is healed completely. Now it’s a matter of rebuilding the strength in the leg. Per the Raw star, his teardrop is gone and they are working on building that back up:

“My cardio is much better than I thought it would be because I actually hired a trainer and have been working on it. I’m further along than I thought I would be, fortunately, my back isn’t gasping for air. I feel pretty damn good.”

The former champion last wrestled during the September 6, 2021 episode of Raw. He teamed up with Bobby Lashley to win a tag team turmoil match.

Matt Jackson: “Wrestling Has The Most Toxic Fanbase In The World”

The wrestling fans can be very tough on wrestlers or companies they do not like, and Matt Jackson recently had one such unpleasant experience with some fans. The AEW EVP appeared on the What Women Binge podcast. During the talk, he revealed that his brother recently lost one of his bags full of shoes:

“The other week, my brother’s bag disappeared. Entire bag, gone. He’s still — he’ll never get it back, like, the whole bag is gone and the number is erased so we think someone’s onto us now at the airports. Like, I think we did a little too much bragging online about, ‘Look, we have all these great expensive shoes‘. I think they found us.”

Matt Jackson went on to mention how wrestling has the most toxic fanbase in the world. While there are good fans, there are others who are only here to spread hate:

“Wrestling has the most toxic fanbase in the world. They’re the worst. Honestly, like, there’s a lot of good fans. The ones that love you, love you. But the ones that hate you, they hate you.”

The Young Bucks won a tag team casino battle royal during the March 2 episode of Dynamite to earn a shot at the tag team championships. However, they were unable to capture the championships during the Revolution PPV.

Scorpio Sky Wins The TNT Championship On Dynamite

Tonight’s episode of Dynamite was filled with many surprises and one of them was Scorpio Sky beating Sammy Guevara to become the new TNT champion.

This match was the main event of the night. The two men wasted no time and the match was taken outside the ring not too long after the bell rang.

Guevara broke out a table very early in the match. He set up Sky on the table and launched himself. However, Scorpio moved away, leaving Sammy to take the damage.

After this spot, Tay Conti came down to check on her boyfriend. The doctors decided to take the champion out but he argued and made his way back into the ring.

Sammy spat on his opponent and they started brawling again. Conti on the other hand got into an argument with the newest AEW signee Paige VanZant at the ringside.

The ending of the match saw Dan Lambert coming out and getting on the apron. Ethan Page tried to interfere in the match but Conti stopped him.

This led to VanZant attacking the Brazilian star and launching her into the stairs. The attack distracted Guevara, which allowed Sky to hit the TKO and pin Sammy to become the new champion.

This is Scorpio Sky’s first singles title in AEW. The title change ends Guevara’s 42 days long reign with the belt, which he won from Cody Rhodes.

Watch: Chris Jericho Turns On Inner Circle Members, Forms New Faction

AEW had been teasing tensions between Chris Jericho and Inner Circle’s Santana and Ortiz for a while. This storyline came to an unexpected conclusion on tonight’s episode of Dynamite.

Sunday’s Revolution PPV saw Eddie Kingston picking up a victory over the former AEW champion. Y2J opened tonight’s show right from where he left things during the PPV.

Jericho called out Kingston to the ring. He offered to shake the hand of The Mad King and Eddie took the offer. Though 2point0 and Daniel Garcia jumped the two men immediately afterward.

Santana and Ortiz hit the ring to make the save. They brought a bat with them to get the upper hand. The duo handed the bat to Jericho as they held Garcia.

However, Chris Jericho attacked his Inner Circle teammates instead. Both 2point0 and Garcia joined him in the attack.

Jake Hager came down the ring next and he first questioned the Inner Circle leader. He then blasted Santana and Ortiz as well. He smashed Kingston with the bat and power bombed him through a table.

Chris Jericho finally took the mic and dubbed this new alliance the Jericho Appreciation Society. You can check out videos of the segment below:
