Stephanie McMahon To Make Historic Announcement On Monday’s RAW

A ‘historic’ announcement is scheduled to be made by Stephanie McMahon this coming Monday night on RAW.

On Friday morning (July 20, 2018), the company announced the news by sending out the following statement on their social media accounts to hype her appearance on the flagship show of the company:

As of this writing, there’s no word yet on what that announcement will be but it should be noted that it could have something to do with the reported plans of WWE holding an all women’s event later this year. This show is apparently being planned due to the lack of female stars at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in April and that it could be a Network Special similar to the show at Saudi Arabia. This is pure speculation at this time.

McMahon has not been seen on RAW since the night after WrestleMania 34 in April where she was attacked by Ronda Rousey following their mixed tag team match at the biggest event of the year for the WWE.

WWE holds this week’s RAW in Buffalo, NY at the KeyBank Center on the USA Network that will feature Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns square off in a #1 contender’s match with the winner challenging Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view event.

Stephanie McMahon Reveals Best Advice Vince McMahon Has Given Her

Stephanie McMahon has shed some lights on her relationship with her father, Vince McMahon, and the advice he has given her throughout the course of her life.

While on the red carpet for the Sports Humanitarian Awards, McMahon spoke with Denise Salcedo about various topics including the best advice she ever received from her father, which she revealed to be about taking calculated risks, which he did to help build the company.

“The best advice my father’s given me as a businessperson is to — there’s so many great pieces of advice. I’d say now take calculated risks,” Stephanie replied.

McMahon continued by stating that she takes pride in representing the WWE while they continue their mission to entertain on a global level and all of their endeavors outside of the WWE.

“WWE’s mission is to put smiles on faces the world over. Whether we do it by our entertainment content or we do it by giving back.” She praised WWE’s partnership with the V-Foundation, Special Olympics, Boys And Girls Clubs of America, Susan G Komen, and more.

McMahon added that those are just a few to name and that she could go deep in on each one of those. She brought up about it being a privilege to be able to give back in as many ways as they can.

Big E Opens Up On Previous Plans Of Adding Members To The New Day

At one point in time, WWE had some plans to add some additional members to The New Day, according to Big E.

The former WWE Tag Team Champion was recently interviewed by The State Journal-Register and in this interview, he was asked about any potential interest in pursuing a singles run.

This is when he dropped some interesting info as he revealed that they originally had plans to add members to the New Day when they first formed.

“The thing is when we first decided to do this (New Day) thing, we honestly saw ourselves as a faction. We had ideas of adding people along of way. But honestly I’m very glad we ended up as a trio because I can’t imagine it as anything else. … But we want to be equipped to do anything, whether it’s tags or singles. We definitely think that is a possibility and something we’re very open to, and we do believe strongly the three of us have the ability to carry that out well.”

Big E continued by stating that a lot of people are very quick to preach about breaking up the group and that it was said by fans almost two years ago that they should separate but they feel that they as a group could continue for a very long time. He noted that they could move on from their current gimmick but stay as a trio.

“We feel like as a trio we have legs to continue for a very long time. And that could mean we move on from the happy, clappy, gospel-inspired music … but stay a trio. Or we move on to singles. There’s so many incarnations of this group that have yet to really be forged and fleshed out”

What are your thoughts on Big E’s comments? Should WWE add more members to the group or keep it the same? Sound off in the comment section.

Roman Reigns Talks How Daniel Cormier Would Fare In WWE, Brock Lesnar’s UFC 226 Appearance

Roman Reigns has given his take on the latest super fight that is trying to be made by the UFC.

In the main event of the UFC 226 pay-per-view event, Daniel Cormier was able to score a KO win over Stipe Miocic to win the UFC heavyweight title and after the fight, Cormier invited WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar Lesnar inside the Octagon with Lesnar accepting the invitation and shoving Cormier in the process. Lesnar then cut a promo on the heavyweight division and Cormier.

The former WWE Champion recently spoke to Helen Yee Sports where he discussed being a big fan of Cormier and how he would fare in the WWE if he did decide to make the transition from MMA to pro wrestling.

“He’s really into what we do and he always seems like a super nice guy. But with our schedule and the amount of events that we run I wasn’t able to see it. I did hear about it obviously about Brock coming in and making a spectacle, but that’s the showman in him.”

“I don’t see why not,” Reigns replied. “You know he has all the instincts. He’s a natural fighter. I think he’d be able to learn very fast. It really just depends on where he is in his career physically and his health and his age.”

Reigns continued by stating that Cormier is a great talker and would be very comfortable on the microphone which is something that he would have an advantage in the WWE. He also believes that there would be a lot of people helping him to kinda get on the fast track and get on the main roster with the WWE.

Reigns was asked what he thought about Lesnar fighting Cormier, which led to the RAW star stating that Cormier has a good shot at beating Lesnar and that WWE is always looking to create a buzz and with what Lesnar is doing, it’s a good crossover between WWE and UFC.

”We’d love to have him in WWE a lot more. We’d love for him to show up a lot more, but you know it’s Brock Lesnar. He’s The Beast, he’s gonna do what he does. If he shows up I’m ready for him.”

Roman Reigns Discusses Bobby Lashley Having Rocky Start To WWE Return

Roman Reigns has opened up about his recent feud with Bobby Lashley on WWE television.

The former WWE Champion recently spoke to Helen Yee Sports where he discussed Lashley’s run in WWE since his return earlier this year. In this interview, he noted that the feud with Lashley is new and caught us up to speed on their current storyline, which is the fact that Lashley beat him at Sunday’s (July 15, 2018) WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena and that they will square off in a #1 contender’s match on next week’s episode of RAW to find out who will challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at SummerSlam.

“We both had triple threat matches in order to earn an opportunity to be the #1 contender to take on Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. So we’re gonna meet next week and go at it again. This time I have a better feel for him and hopefully, it’ll be a better result for me.”

Also in this interview, Reigns was asked how he thinks Lashley’s WWE return has worked out for him thus far which he noted that he thinks it was a little rocky from the get-go but that Lashley is really settled in and getting comfortable.

“You could tell that it seems like he’s starting to feel at home again. When you leave WWE and you move around a little bit you can kinda get out of the shake of things. It seems like he’s really getting comfortable. He had a great showing on Sunday, next Monday’s not gonna be the same.”

Booker T Reacts To Hulk Hogan’s WWE HOF Reinstatement, Talks Lashley vs. Lesnar

Booker T is the latest star to give his take on WWE’s decision to reinstate Hulk Hogan into the WWE Hall of Fame after the news was broken over the weekend before the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event where Hogan held a meeting with the WWE superstars.

The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion was the latest guest on XPac 1 2 360 with Sean Waltman where he talked about various topics including Hogan where he stated that when people say stuff behind closed doors, sometimes they say stuff they would never say in public and that if someone is taping a conversation they’re obviously looking to get something out of it and you have to look at it like that.

You don’t know if someone was drinking or not. There are so many variables that go into that one little episode. And I just don’t think that in the wrestling business coincide with each other. Do we got to set this thing down, reprimand, suspend him? Of course. But for him to be banned from professional wrestling for that one incident? I mean c’mon. That I don’t agree with. Let’s put in the past and move forward.”

The WWE Hall of Famer also gave his take on Bobby Lashley possibly facing Brock Lesnar in the near future. Booker T noted that Lesnar has a lot on his plate right now as he is preparing for his UFC return, being tested by USADA and gearing up for his next match in the WWE at the upcoming SummerSlam event.

He believes that it will be a good thing for Lashley to get in there and mix it up with Lesnar but it might be a rough night for him as well. He brought up the fact that fans have been wanting to see them wrestle each other for years.

Both of them have the amateur background… Bobby is definitely ready to step into the fire… as well as we wonder what Bobby’s still got left in the tank after ten years of being away from the company. We’re fired up, we’ll find out very soon.”

Christian Explains Why Name Of His Finisher Was Changed In Second WWE Run

Christian has given some insight into the decision that was made about the name of his finisher when he was an active pro wrestler.

If you recall, during his first stint with the WWE, his finisher was called The Impaler while he was with The Brood but later changed it to The Unprettier which stuck for a while. Once he decided to go to TNA in 2005 where he had a successful run, his finisher name stayed the same until he decided to return to the WWE three years later and placed on the ECW brand and the name of the move was once again changed to The Killswitch.

During a recent episode of E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness, the former World Heavyweight Champion explained why the name of the finisher was changed.

“The name The Unprettier kinda came as a joke between myself and The Hardys and Adam we would joke around. I don’t even remember how we came up with it but I jokingly called it The Unprettier because I hate how it makes you feel so damn unpretty.”

He continued by stating that they would jokingly talk about it behind-the-scenes and one announcer (could’ve been Michael Cole) heard it and then said it on the air during his match where it would later stick.

“But I never thought the name matched how dangerous the move was. So when I came back from TNA to WWE I kinda wanted to repackage a few different things, the name of my finish being one of them. I had a conversation earlier that first day back with Vince and I told him my feelings on it and what I wanted to name it and he went, ‘no that’s great. Do it.’ So that’s how it got changed.”

Ric Flair’s First Comments On Recent Surgery

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has made his first public comments about his recent surgery.

If you recall, just last week, the pro wrestling legend underwent the knife for an ileostomy procedure. At first, it was reported that he was scheduled to get surgery to remove a colonoscopy bag but that was not the case. Flair wrote the following on his official Twitter account:

“Thank You To All The Staff At Gwinnett Medical Center For The Excellent Care During My Stay! I Was So Lucky To Be In The Hands Of An Amazing Surgeon, Dr. James Elsey. Truly Grateful For Everything! The Naitch Is Back Up And Runnin’! @GwinnettMedical.”

His fiancé, Wendy Barlow, went on record by telling Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet that the procedure had to be done after his health scare last summer and reverse the stoma that way he’ll no longer be forced to drain the bag.

The reason for the confusion at the time about the surgery was the differences between the two procedures as an ileostomy is defined as an opening in the belly (abdominal wall) that is made during surgery and that the lowest part of the small intestine is brought through this opening to form a stoma while surgery to remove a colonoscopy bag applies to the large intestine and not the small intestine.

Flair was last seen on WWE television when he appeared on a November 2017 edition of SmackDown Live to congratulate Charlotte Flair after she won the SmackDown Women’s Title from Natalya in Charlotte, North Carolina.

It should be noted that WWE has yet to reveal when the first-round matches will air on the WWE Network or when the finals will take place but by looking back on history, last year’s tournament finals went down on September 12th from the SmackDown TV event in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Thomas and Mack Center that saw Kairi Sane beat Shayna Baszler in the finals to win the tournament.

Jonathan Coachman Says He Knows Reason Brock Lesnar Decided To Shove Daniel Cormier At UFC 226

WWE Monday Night RAW color commentator Jonathan Coachman claims to have some inside information on the famous shove that Brock Lesnar gave to Daniel Cormier.

As seen in the main event of the UFC 226 pay-per-view event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, Cormier was able to score a KO win over Stipe Miocic to win the UFC heavyweight title. Then, things got out of hand. Cormier invited Lesnar inside the Octagon with Lesnar accepting the invitation and shoving Cormier in the process. Lesnar then cut a promo on the heavyweight division and Cormier.

According to Coachman, once Lesnar got into the Octagon, the WWE Universal Champion was upset because Cormier made it so WWE and that it wasn’t talked about between Lesnar and Cormier before the fight. The only thing that Cormier and Miocic knew before the fight was that the winner was supposed to call out Lesnar for a future fight. The shove was real as Lesnar didn’t want it to go down like that.

“He was like, ‘[Lesnar] was so pissed because Cormier made it so WWE.’ Brock was so mad that he did it that way. That shove was real, it wasn’t planned, it wasn’t talked about. Him [Lesnar] coming in [the cage] was, but the shove that everyone says was so WWE — Brock didn’t want it that way. Brock wanted it just on that fine line.’

Typically, after a UFC main event fight, both the winner and loser are interviewed. However, at this event, Miocic was not interviewed about the fight or the chance to reply to Lesnar’s insults after his loss. Coachman made it clear that it was planned out that way that whoever won would call Lesnar into the Octagon.

“It was planned out that way that whoever won would call Brock in. Normally on a normal fight of that magnitude, you interview the winner and then the loser will stay and get interviewed. So I was hoping that Joe Rogan would say, ‘oh Brock you just said that about Stipe.’ It wasn’t planned that way, so Stipe was long gone.”

Drew McIntyre Explains Why He Choose To Go To NXT Instead Of WWE Main Roster

Drew McIntyre has given some insight into his time with the WWE and resurgence in the company.

The former NXT Champion recently appeared on Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia to talk about various topics including his reaction to his release by the WWE in 2014 where he noted that he was shocked at first as he was doing the 3MB gimmick with Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater where they were on literally every show so it was very unexpected.

He would continue by stating that although he saw the news on social media, it never crossed his mind that a missed call from WWE might have been to tell him the news but rather assumed to tell him to be on the road a week earlier.

When I got it I was like, “Oh, okay. I’ll be seeing you very soon.” And I sat and I thought about it. My girlfriend at the time who is now my wife and I had just moved into the apartment that I got the call 3 days prior. It was our first place together, so I was thinking, “How am I going to tell her? How am I going to tell my Dad?” He’s always been my number one fan.”

He continued by stating that he worried about the next step and then eventually told himself that this is the opportunity he’s been waiting for and that it had been years since he was in a serious role.

He noted that it was the right time to be away from the company for a while and to have learned so much. He believed in himself and that he could really do something and the wrestling scene outside of WWE was really picking up. This is when he got excited.

McIntyre also touched on his decision to go back to NXT when he returned to the company instead of going back to the main roster right away.

“That was what I wanted. I told my wife in the beginning when NXT really started catching fire,”You know what babe, ideal when I go back there first, if I do my thing here and I get a reputation in the independent scene, then I believe I can get an angle to NXT because it’s such a passionate fan base. I think that would be the place for me to go to really show what I can do. And then when the time is right, because the transition is so much smoother from NXT to RAW and Smackdown, because it moves so fast. RAW and Smackdown, there’s so many hours of unique TV every single week all year round.”

McIntyre added that is the way he saw it and even told Chris Jericho about it during a podcast appearance as he gave credit to Jericho for helping him early in his career and Jericho telling him when he was released that he’d be back in WWE.

McIntyre also talked about how he discovered his love for wrestling and more. You can listen to the full interview here.

Jeff Jarrett Believes Intergender Matches Should Be Special, Talks Ronda Rousey

WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett has given his take on intergender matches in pro wrestling.

In an interview with SportsKeeda to promote his upcoming ‘Ain’t He Great’ UK tour which kicks off in London on July 23rd, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion spoke about intergender matches, which he thinks should be special and booked on a case-by-case basis as he pointed out the example of his program with Chyna in the WWE in 1999.

“I think this is a very very specific case to case basis because I don’t think it’s fair if it was the world’s best female basketball player against Lebron James, that’s really not competitive. At the time of me and Chyna, Chyna was built so strong that the timing was right. [If you had] Intergender matches on a consistent basis I believe the specialty of that would diminish, but on occasion, I think it’s a good opportunity.”

Jarrett also talked about former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey making the transition from being a pro-MMA fighter to the land of pro wrestling.

He gave her high praise for being a unique and once in a lifetime talent as she is the first female in the UFC Hall of Fame, which he believes should make people stop right there and realize what a special talent she is and they just don’t come around that often.

Mysterio also briefly commented on possibly working with Daniel Bryan in the WWE when he returns to the company.

“Anything can happen. I did two Royal Rumbles for WWE this year. If you happen to see me on a Raw or Smackdown and you want to see a certain match, then you already know. But if not, I am still going to be doing what I am doing out here in the wrestling independent scene.”

Charlotte Flair Reveals When She’ll Be Cleared To Return To Action

Charlotte Flair is gearing up for her in-ring return after being on the sidelines.

The former WWE RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion made a recent appearance on the Conversations with Maria Menounos show, which is a SiriusXM radio series, where she revealed when she would be cleared to return to in-ring action as that will be on July 31st.

Ironically, that date is a Tuesday night where SmackDown Live airs live on the USA Network. She noted that she misses the ring and the fans as well as that it’s hard to watch the shows while she’s on the sidelines even for such a short period of time.

If you recall, Flair underwent surgery to repair a ruptured implant about a month ago. In this video below, she discussed how she learned she had the issue including delaying it as she wanted to get through WrestleMania and do a photo shoot for ESPN that was published recently.

Championship Match Announced For Next Monday’s WWE RAW

WWE has announced the first match for next week’s episode of Monday Night RAW on the USA Network.

During this week’s episode of RAW in Buffalo, NY at the KeyBank Center, RAW Tag Team Champions The B-Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel) beat The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) in a non-title match.

After the match, Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt appeared on the big screen to cut a promo where they announced that they would be challenging the champions for the straps on next Monday’s RAW.

This comes hot off the heels of Dallas and Axel beating Hardy and Wyatt to win the RAW Tag Team Titles at Sunday’s (July 15, 2018) WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena on the WWE Network.

WWE holds next week’s show in Cincinnati, OH at the US Bank Arena. As of this writing, only one other match has been announced for next week’s show, which is a #1 contender’s match that will determine who will challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view event.

Brock Lesnar Advertised For Post-SummerSlam Episode Of WWE RAW

WWE is now advertising Universal Champion Brock Lesnar for an upcoming episode of their flagship show, Monday Night RAW.

The Barclays Center’s official Twitter account has announced that Lesnar is set to appear on August 20th episode of RAW, which is the night after the SummerSlam pay-per-view event in the same venue in Brooklyn, New York. This could end up being an interesting date as it might just be his last appearance on WWE television for awhile.

Lesnar is still under contract with the WWE until the end of August and it’s been reported that he’ll be working the SummerSlam pay-per-view event on Sunday, August 19, 2018 that will air on the WWE Network. As of this writing, WWE has yet to announce his opponent at this event.

Lesnar is headed back to the UFC and has started the process to get back in the USADA drug-testing pool. With Lesnar back in the pool, he will still have to serve a little more than six months left of his previous suspension. Thus, he is not able to fight inside of the Octagon until early January, which is around the time that this fight is rumored to take place.

Once he is eligible to fight again, he’s slated to challenge Daniel Cormier for the UFC Heavyweight Title.

What are your thoughts on the appearance of Lesnar on this show and his future with the WWE?
