Dolph Ziggler Denies He’s Signed New WWE Contract, Talks Latest United States Title Run

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler, who has been with the sports entertainment company for over a decade, continues to address reports that he had signed a new WWE contract that was worth $1.5 million.

At one point, many fans thought he was the future of WWE and would be the top guy for the sports entertainment company. He has had a great career and is one of the best workers that the company has under contract.

Ziggler recently spoke with WSVN-TV Entertainment Reporter Chris Van Vliet to talk about various topics. During the interview, he was asked about the rumors of his new contract.

“My father called me to congratulate me on my deal that I had re-signed and I said ‘What are you talking about?’ It’s fun to have Internet rumors out there, but even if and when I do re-sign I won’t be like ‘Hey everybody, here’s the details of this contract’. There’s a short amount of time left on this contract, we’re negotiating, and we’ll see what happens.”

At last year’s Clash of Champions pay-per-view, Ziggler defeated Baron Corbin and Bobby Roode in a triple threat match to win his second United States Championship. In this interview, he was asked about why he wasn’t happy with his latest run with the title.

“I’m going to guess that some plans that were made originally didn’t happen. I asked to go away for a while just to let them forget that I wasn’t doing anything of too much importance. I asked for some time off. I got kicked in the head by Jack Swagger and got a concussion when I was the champ and I was out for 2 weeks and that’s basically all the time off I’ve had. Even my stand up dates are booked around when I’m not working here. So if I’m never gone, no one can hope for me to come back. One other time I was gone for 5 weeks to film a movie.

Ziggler continued, “That was it. I never went away, I never had a surgery and I don’t want to but you can’t be missed if you are never gone and you are always here. So I asked to go away for 6 months or a year and was told no, but maybe a couple of months. Out of nowhere in this title match, I won the match. It was really fun, it was really crazy. Corbin and Roode are really fun to wrestle. I won it and I went ‘Alright, what am I going to do now?’ and I figured I would have a moment and have everyone talking about me one way or another, so I threw down the title and walked out. I thought it was great and then 3 TV’s later I was back.”

Bobby Lashley Comments On His Return To The WWE

Bobby Lashley is back on WWE television for the first time in a decade.

As seen on this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Smoothie King Center on the USA Network, the former WWE star made his return to WWE by interrupting Elias while he was cutting a promo and laid him out with a suplex.

Lashley, who burst onto the WWE scene with excellent size and power, made his debut on SmackDown back in 2005. During his first run with the sports entertainment company, he was a two-time ECW World Champion and one-time United States Champion. While away from the WWE, he had a successful run with TNA Wrestling.

WWE’s Youtube channel has released this video of Lashley talking about his return after the show. Here is what he had to say:

“Unfinished business. Unfinished business, completely. I’ve taken my level of wrestling and this entire business to a whole other level and I’m ready to go out here and show this crowd what I’m about. … I’m going to be bigger and badder, and tougher than ever. There’s a lot of really tough guys here in WWE at this time and I’ve got my sights set. Brock Lesnar Re-Signs With WWE, Will Defend Against Reigns At Greatest Royal Rumble

The speculation about WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar’s future can come to a close as the sports entertainment company announced on Monday afternoon that he had re-signed with WWE.

He retained the title over Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 34. It was well known that his contract with the company expired on Sunday night and there was some speculation about him returning to the UFC.

The company also announced Lesnar’s next title defense. The sports entertainment company will be holding their Greatest Royal Rumble event at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Friday, April 27. For the first time ever, the Royal Rumble match will feature 50 WWE Superstars.

Lesnar will face Reigns in a Steel Cage Match for the Universal Title at the upcoming show.

Triple H vs. John Cena in a singles match, The Hardys vs. Braun Strowman for the RAW Tag Team Titles, and a Ladder Match with WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe vs. Finn Balor vs. The Miz have already been confirmed for the event.

John Cena Tweets Cryptic Video After WrestleMania Loss

John Cena has WWE fans guessing what his next step will be after losing on the grandest stage of them all.

As seen at WrestleMania 34 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on the WWE Network, The Undertaker did, in fact, accept Cena’s challenge to a match. After Cena did a quick segment with Elias in the ring that saw Cena hit his finisher to the RAW superstar, a spotlight hit the ring with Taker’s hat and jacket with a lightning bolt hitting it.

Lights got out then back on with the hat and jacket gone. The gong hit and Taker’s music played. Taker comes out as his deadman gimmick. Taker won the match in very quick fashion.

With Cena’s acting career taking off, his role in the WWE has started to go from full-time to part-time. The former WWE Champion is advertised for tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW. Cena posted the following cryptic video to his Twitter account after the event.

Original Plans For Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka At WrestleMania 34

As seen at WrestleMania 34 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on the WWE Network, Charlotte Flair successfully retained her SmackDown Women’s Title against Asuka.

This marks the first time that Asuka has lost a match since signing her WWE contract a few years ago.

Original plans called for Asuka to defeat Flair at the biggest event of the year for the title. The idea behind this was that WWE would eventually build up to Asuka vs. Ronda Rousey. Thus, the reason that fans saw Asuka use the armbar as her finisher for weeks on WWE’s flagship show, Monday Night RAW.

Dave Meltzer shed some light on the plans for this match during the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer noted that originally, Asuka vs. Flair called for multiple armbar attempts and that WWE officials told Asuka months ago when Rousey first signed with the company to start doing the submission hold in her matches. However, she was later told to stop doing them.

This is a perfect example of how plans change in the WWE. Now, it appears that the company is going away from Asuka vs. Rousey and now has their focus on Flair vs. Rousey down in the line.

Dana White Reacts To Ronda Rousey’s WWE Debut At WrestleMania

There was one interesting name that attended the biggest event of the year for the sports entertainment company, and that was UFC President Dana White.

The reason that he attended the event was to see former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey make her in-ring WWE debut.

As seen at WrestleMania 34 on Sunday night (April 8th, 2018) at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on the WWE Network, Rousey and Kurt Angle defeated Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a Mixed Tag Team Match.

White has given a statement on Rousey making her in-ring debut to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.

“She accomplished everything she could at UFC. She has a title defense record that still isn’t broken, the amazing fight last night with Rose and Joanna wouldn’t have been possible without Ronda kickstarting everything and I could go on and on.”

“She has always loved professional wrestling and now she gets to have a blast being a part of it. She will be great at ANYTHING she sets her mind to doing. I thought she was incredible tonight and I’m happy for her.”

Reason Why Kid Rock Didn’t Appear At WrestleMania 34

WrestleMania weekend is always a special one due to all of the big events going on. From indy shows to the Hall of Fame ceremony, NXT Takeover special and of course WrestleMania.

On Friday night, the sports entertainment company held their Hall of Fame ceremony in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Smoothie King Center. Going into the show, there was some speculation as to who would induct Kid Rock. It turns out that Triple H did the honors for the rockstar.

Moving along to Sunday night, WWE traditionally brings out the class of that certain year during the broadcast of WrestleMania and introduces them to the crowd and gives them a Mania moment. WrestleMania 34 was no different except for the fact that one name was missing and that was Kid Rock.

As for the reason he missed the show, PWinsider.com is reporting that he did not appear at Wrestlemania because he is hosting Kid Rock ‘s 9th Annual Chillin’ the Most Cruise 2018.

The cruise is set to make sail on Tuesday. Thus, he had to depart from New Orleans early. It was also noted that Rock was never slated to appear at Mania.

Batista Talks Possible Returning To The WWE, His Time In Evolution

Guardians cast members Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn sat in with Batista for a Q&A session at Awesome Con in Washington, D.C last weekend.

Batista is no longer a member of the WWE’s roster will always be part of the WWE family. “The Animal” is one of the most successful WWE Superstars of all time as he has won six WWE World Titles, a four-time WWE Tag Team Champion, and a two-time Royal Rumble winner (2005 and 2014).

He has not been with the company since late 2014. During this Q&A, he was asked about the rumors of a potential return to the WWE. If you recall, it’s been reported that Batista was interested in team up with Ronda Rousey to face Triple H and Stephanie McMahon but WWE decided against bringing him back.

Batista stated in a response to the question, “I hope so.” (transcript courtesy of Wrestling Inc)

He was also asked about a memorable moment as part of Evolution alongside Triple H, Ric Flair, and Randy Orton.

“Well, off-screen, I wouldn’t be able to tell you publicly. On-screen, I think it was the time that we were all holding title belts. It was a great shot. It was I think the first time in history that a faction, a wrestling faction like that had like every world title. That was a moment that Randy (Orton) and I had arrived. You’ve probably seen the shot a million times where we were on stage, all holding the belts.”

Jonathan Coachman Reveals Why WWE Stars Shouldn’t Complain About Ronda Rousey

Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey is slated to team up with WWE Hall of Famer and current Raw General Manager Kurt Angle to take on Stephanie McMahon and Triple H in a Mixed Tag Team Match at WrestleMania 34.

Jonathan Coachman spoke with TMZ Sports about Rousey appearance at WrestleMania 34. In this interview, he defended Rousey from criticism and those certain female stars who are complaining about her spot in the WWE. Here is what he had to say:

“There’s been so many different reactions to Ronda coming in to the WWE,” Coachman said. “Some really, really positive, some skeptical and some in between. Here’s the difference with Ronda Rousey compared to probably anybody else you can name in the history of the business. She’s coming in right at the top, her in-ring debut is gonna be at WrestleMania. You talk about pressure! I mean, that pressure is real, it’s legit.”

“Yeah, she’s been in main events before in the UFC, but this is on another level,” Coachman responded. “We’re talking millions upon millions of viewers. Here’s the thing that people don’t think about, just the pressure to perform in front of her new peers. Because she’s come in and taken a very lucrative spot at WrestleMania. Now, I don’t really give a damn whether she’s earned it or not. Her star power has earned it, but now she has to go out there and perform, that’s the beauty of WrestleMania and coming in where she has come in at. So, I think there’s a lot of people anxious to see exactly how a match with Ronda Rousey is going to look.”

WrestleMania 34 goes down tonight at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. This event airs on pay-per-view (PPV) and WWE Network. It’s the most successful and longest-running professional wrestling event in history. Both Raw and SmackDown rosters will be featured.

Coachman continued, “Trust me when I say that there are a long line of females that would love nothing better – I don’t care what they tell you – than to run a program with Ronda Rousey,” Coachman said. “When she comes out to the arena – I’m there – she’s gets as big a pop, if not the biggest pop of anybody on the show, but that’s only going to last for so long until she starts working matches. If the girls are smart, they don’t complain about Ronda Rousey, they embrace her and say, ‘Let me help you, because that is what’s good for business, and what’s good for business is good for me.'”

Chris Jericho Explains Why John Cena Should Lose To Undertaker At WrestleMania 34

Chris Jericho discussed the potential John Cena vs. Undertaker WrestleMania match on a recent Talk is Jericho. The sports entertainment company has still yet to announce this match despite the reports of it happening at the biggest event of the year for the WWE.

Jericho has done it all under the sports entertainment banner. He has been under contract with the sports entertainment company off and on since 1999. He is also a record nine-time Intercontinental Champion.

Jericho is the first Undisputed WWE Champion, and thus the final holder of the World Championship (formerly the WCW World Heavyweight Championship), having won and unified the WWE and World titles by defeating Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock on the same night in 2001.

It’s safe to say that his opinion should be taken and considered. Thus, he stated during this podcast that if the WWE does indeed book this match, then Cena should lose to The Deadman.

“There might be a match of Undertaker versus John Cena because John Cena [has] been calling for it. Let’s take a little detour. Chances are that the match is going to happen. Chances are that Vince [McMahon] didn’t want Undertaker to waste an entrance on Raw. I think that, knowing Vince, he’s probably thinking, ‘People are going to buy this show either way and the tease of Cena coming in week after week, ‘Where’s Underaker?’ No response. ‘Where’s Undertaker?’ Everybody knows, even though they don’t know, that Undertaker’s going to come out and you get your big entrance and that sort of thing.’”

Jericho continued, “Listen, guys, from what I know and what Jack Slade knows, which is lots, 99% on my part, there will be Cena versus Undertaker. I have a theory. Undertaker should not lose at WrestleMania ever again. ‘The streak’ is done. He lost to Brock [Lesnar]. He lost to Roman [Reigns]. He does not need to be losing to John Cena. Cena right now, he’s about to become, I’m not going to say ‘the next Rock’, but we know he [has] got Blockers, he’s a star, and Duke Nukem, and Transformers. Cena is going to lose, as he should, because, at this point, if Undertaker’s going to be effective as a performer, he should never lose again. Ever. Yeah, he lost his match and he lost his other one to the heir apparent, the prodigal son of Roman Reigns. After that, he should beat everybody! If he’s going to continue wrestling, my opinion Taker beats Cena in a match of 1,000 false finishes.”

Roman Reigns Talks Wanting To Wrestle Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar Potentially Returning To UFC

Roman Reigns is gearing up for the biggest match of his career as this is supposed to be his moment while under the WWE banner. He’s slated to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at WrestleMania 34.

While promoting the event, he spoke with Planeta Wrestling to talk about various topics. It’s well known that Lesnar’s contract with WWE expires after tonight and he has already told UFC President Dana White that he’s interested in returning to the company.

Reigns gave his take on the current Universal Champion potentially returning to the MMA promotion.

“I like to say ‘never say never’ as soon as you think something is going to be one way, Vince McMahon and the WWE somehow turns it and surprises everybody,” Reigns said. “With his history, if he were to leave, I don’t think it will be the last time we see him. Before UFC he was with WWE. Regardless, he’s a great businessman and he can obviously juggle both and that deserves respect in its own right. At the end of the day, I know he has a high regard for WWE and he’ll do what’s best for him.”

Reigns was also asked about who he wants to wrestle next and it was quite the easy answer for the Big Dog. He wants to step into the squared circle against SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan, who was recently cleared to in-ring action.

“I think the ‘Yes Man,’ I don’t get to see the guys from SmackDown all that often,” Reigns said. “I know Daniel Bryan has been cleared. I’d love to get back in their with Bryan. I’d love to get in there, kind of do what we did back at Fastlane and have that rivalry. Hell, what kind of match would that be, me and Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania next year? Hopefully, his health continues to get better and better, the sky’s the limit for him. So, I think Daniel Bryan would be a cool opponent.”

Alberto El Patron Released By Impact Wrestling, New Main Event Set For Redemption PPV

It’s been well documented that Alberto El Patron failed to appear at Friday’s Impact Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground event at WrestleCon. At the show, he was originally scheduled to team with Penta El 0M against Austin Aries and Rey Fénix.

His excuse was that he had got sick through the course of the day despite word among talent that he actually no-showed.

This led to the promotion releasing El Patron effective immediately. The release is due to him not appearing at Friday’s show. Aries was originally slated to defend the Impact Title against El Patron at their Redemption PPV later this month.

The promotion sent out the following statement:

“IMPACT Wrestling announced today that it has terminated its agreement with Alberto El Patron, effective immediately.”

Thus, the promotion has announced a new main event for their Redemption PPV. It will now be Aries vs. Fenix vs. Pentagon Jr. for the Impact World Championship.

Impact Wrestling will hold their Redemption pay-per-view event on April 22nd, 2018 in Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios. The event will air on traditional PPV outlets and the FITE TV app. Here is the updated card:

Impact Wrestling champion Austin Aries vs. Rey Fenix vs. Pentagon Jr.

X-Division champion Matt Sydal vs. Petey Williams

Impact Wrestling Tag Team champions LAX vs. Eli Drake & Scott Steiner

The “first-ever” House of Hardcore Match: OVE vs. Moose & Eddie Edwards & Tommy Dreamer

Kurt Angle Q&A: CM Punk’s Next UFC Fight, Teaming With Ronda Rousey, More

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently did a Q&A on Facebook and commented on a number of interesting topics.

During the session, a fan asked about UFC President Dana White confirming in a recent interview with TMZ Sports that CM Punk will indeed fight Mike Jackson next.

White did not confirm when they would fight but it’s likely going to be at UFC 225 pay-per-view event that is slated to go down on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

“Punk is a talented kid. It’s up to him. If he shows up to fight he will do ok. He didn’t show up last time. He was there but he didn’t fight back.”

Angle is slated to team up with former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey to take on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34 in a Mixed Tag Team Match. He was asked about his game plan for the match.

“To WIN! I have to keep Ronda from getting frustrated. I know how HHH and Steph try to play mind games. Not on Sunday.”

Finally, he was asked about which match made him most nervous. Angle responded by stating, “WM19. I was injured prior to it. Brock had just started on the main roster. It was stressful.”

Update On The Undertaker’s Status At WrestleMania 34

We have some good news regarding the status of The Undertaker for WrestleMania weekend.

For several weeks now, WWE fans have been wondering when the WWE will announce that John Cena would face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 34.

Cena has been laying down the challenge to “The Deadman” for a match at the biggest event of the year for the sports entertainment company. However, nothing has come about from it.

PWinsider.com is reporting that The Undertaker has been spotted in New Orleans, which is the site of WrestleMania 34.

It’s been reported for months that this match will happen at the show but in recent days there has been speculation that Taker could just have a stare down with Cena in the ring to lead to a match in the future. Either way, it’s safe to say that Taker is very likely to make an appearance at WrestleMania.

Which Superstar Is The Highest Paid In WWE?

We now know who is the highest paid WWE Superstar right now.

Forbes reported on Friday that John Cena had passed current Universal Champion Brock Lesnar as the highest paid WWE Superstar.

Lesnar is slated to defend his Universal Title against Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 34 this Sunday night live on the WWE Network at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

On the flip side, Cena doesn’t have a match officially listed for the show but is rumored that he will be wrestling The Undertaker at the show.

According to the article that was published about this topic, Cena reportedly cleared $10 million last year through his WWE work, his roles in “Ferdinand” and the critically acclaimed comedy “Blockers.”

Adam Cole Talks Being Place In NXT Instead Of Main Roster, Royal Rumble Appearance

Former ROH World Champion Adam Cole has taken the WWE by storm since signing with the sports entertainment company last year.

Cole was with Ring of Honor from 2009 – 2017 and made his name known there. As a result of that signing, he made his debut at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III last August in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center. Instead of him just sitting in the crowd at the NXT special, WWE had much bigger plans for him.

As seen at the event, Cole beat down then-NXT Champion Drew McIntyre along with Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly after McIntyre’s big win over Bobby Roode.

Cole recently spoke with Newsweek to talk about various topics. During the interview, he was asked if it was his idea to start in NXT instead of the main roster.

“No they put me in NXT, but I also wanted to be in NXT. I remember I did a podcast interview with Steve Austin and he asked me, “In a perfect world, what would you want to do?” And I told him, for sure, go to NXT. And the big reason, again, is those fans and the talent that’s down there. If I were to go right to RAW or SmackDown, I would miss out on something really special. I think the guys who have been on NXT and got to go to RAW or SmackDown got the full experience. That’s what I want.

NXT is not overlooked now. For a long time NXT was seen as developmental. NXT is absolutely a third brand now. If you get to be a part of NXT and a part of something special, these shows that are so cool, and the relationship I’m building with the fans there will absolutely transition into RAW or SmackDown. So NXT was something I wanted to be a part of right out of the gate.”

As seen at the Royal Rumble PPV event in January, Cole competed in the Royal Rumble match which was his first match on the main roster.

“That was surreal. Not only because it was the Royal Rumble, it’s when WrestleMania season really starts. The fans are a bit more excited, the performers are a little more on edge. I love that environment.

On top of that, because it was in Philadelphia I used to go to all the shows when it was called the First Union Center and I used to go and watch Monday Night RAW, SmackDown and the pay-per-views. I would drive or get my mother to drive me, an hour and a half to two hours, to watch these shows. That place was so special to me, I had so many positive memories as a child there. So for the Royal Rumble debut to happen by circumstance in Philadelphia, I don’t know—it was like a book, or a movie. I was so excited and happy. If we were to talk about top three moments, that’s in there for me.”

Cole added, “Not necessarily. I see so many cool things going on in both brands that I can sink my teeth into. Obviously, going to SmackDown where Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are. AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Randy Orton, Bobby Roode… the list goes on, there’s so many talented guys. They have them on RAW too. That’s the coolest thing about the two shows right now, they offer something different, but no one is really better than the other, they have their things and their strengths and things that make you want to watch the show. I look at the performers on RAW or SmackDown and I see where I can fit in, and I feel I can fit in a lot of situations on RAW and SmackDown so I don’t know, it’ll be tough for me to pick one.”

John Cena Reflects On His Match With Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 30

WrestleMania 34 is set to be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Just four years ago, WrestleMania 30 went down and saw an interesting match between John Cena and Bray Wyatt.

At the time, Wyatt was the leader of The Wyatt Family. The group, which was created in 2012 while in NXT, includes Luke Harper, and Erick Rowan. For a short amount of time, Braun Strowman was featured in the group.

The group had a throwback feel to them. They were these people who came from the woods and the darkness into the light. You had three big, hard-hitting talents, who could get it done in the ring. Wyatt, who was the leader, cut different style promos before and after matches. It was truly unique to the NXT brand and later on the main roster.

Cena briefly spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated about WrestleMania and his memory of his match against Wyatt. Here is what he had to say:

“Wherever we draw inspiration, that is what makes the beauty of creativity special,” said Cena. “A character like Bray Wyatt has gone through so many evolutions. With me, it was very different. I encompassed the commercialization of hip hop in the 90s and 2000s, and that’s how I got my jumpstart.”

“Bray started as a close correlation to a DeNiro character,” said Cena. “His origins were kind of like, ‘I saw this on screen in Cape Fear, and I would kind of like to take traits from that and put it into what we do.’ It’s gone unbelievably expensive since then.”

The Rock Addresses His Status For WrestleMania 34

It seems that everyone wants to see Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson make an appearance at the biggest event of the year for the sports entertainment company, WrestleMania 34.

The Rock is regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. He picked up his popularity in the mainstream while working in the WWE from 1996 to 2004 and was the first third-generation wrestler in the company’s history. He returned to WWE part-time from 2011–13 and continues to make sporadic appearances for the company.

Every year there is speculation on whether he will appear at WrestleMania. He hasn’t wrestled since WrestleMania 29 against Cena but did have technically a match with Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32 but it was very brief.

Johnson said in an interview with Chris Van Vliet that he won’t be in New Orleans for Wrestlemania 34.

The Rock said, “You will not see me there.” He then joked that he would team up with his Rampage co-star Jeffrey Dean Morgan. You can see the interview here:

Tenille Dashwood Opens Up On Her Departure From WWE

Emma had a rough time while in the WWE. She signed with the promotion back in 2011 and was placed in FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling). When Triple H and WWE decided to up their developmental brand in 2012, she was transitioned into NXT along with everyone else.

The Australian is a great wrestler with some good microphone skills and got over with the WWE Universe with her loveable character.

She was a comedy performer who could back up her actions in the ring. She would later change her character as a heel and got over but was hurt quite often in her WWE run. In October 2017, WWE announced that Emma had been released from her WWE contract.

Tenille Dashwood recently spoke with the Sporting News about various topics. During the interview, she talked about her sudden release from WWE and working with Paige. Here is what she had to say:

“I was definitely surprised. I really enjoyed my match with Asuka at the pay-per-view, and that was the first singles match [on pay-per-view] that I had there. So I was definitely surprised when I found out, but it gave me almost like a launching pad to go out and wrestle for all these companies elsewhere. It was almost a reminder for the fans that I can wrestle. So it really helped me moving forward and I’m glad that I can wrestle everywhere now and the demand is there.”

“In the [“NXT: The Future is Now”] book it says that the matches that Paige and I had were what kick-started the whole women’s evolution, or revolution, and obviously from there on everyone has just jumped on the opportunity and these women have had some of the most amazing matches. It was special to be a part of, but we never would’ve seen women’s wrestling being where it is today. It just goes to show the talent that’s out there, and when given an opportunity these amazing women are able to deliver.”

Alexa Bliss Previews Her WrestleMania 34 Match, Explains What She Learned In NXT

WWE RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss has made a big splash ever since she was called up to the main roster two years ago from NXT.

While she never held the NXT Women’s Title during her time in the developmental brand, she was mainly used as a manager for Blake and Murphy, who went onto have a run as the NXT Tag Team Champions.

With her not having a big push in NXT, some fans had their doubts about “Five Feet of Fury” when she was called up to SmackDown Live. However, she made her doubters wrong when she blasted on the scene while in the women’s division on the blue brand and would go onto hold the SmackDown Women’s Title as well as the RAW Title.

Bliss recently spoke with Newsweek to promote WrestleMania 34. During the interview, she was asked about how NXT helped her and working with Mickie James.

“I think my biggest takeaway from NXT was learning the process. What goes into the business, the culture. It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon. That’s the biggest thing I took from NXT, and how to have the work ethic to not only be on the road but to succeed on the road.”

“It’s so different working with Mickie now than when we were on SmackDown. When Mickie came back to WWE, we didn’t know each other. It was a new friendship on-camera. We got to know each other and we’ve been working together for a year now and it’s a lot more fun.”

Bliss is slated to defend her RAW Women’s Title against Nia Jax at WrestleMania 34, which is a match that has been slowly but surely built upon the RAW brand.

“I’m excited, it’ll be amazing because it’ll be the first time a Women’s Championship match happens at WrestleMania in like 11 years and we will have two. With Nia, it’ll be different because it’s personal. Former best friends, we have emotions going into it. For me, all the matches leading up to it have been strictly competition, for a title or an opportunity at a title. But this time it’s personal and it’ll be different from any match I’ve had before.”
