Former WWE Raw Women’s Champion Bayley spoke with The Mirror in the UK about various topics including her Elimination Chamber experience, her friendship with Sasha Banks and more.
As seen at Sunday’s WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on the WWE Network, Alexa Bliss successfully retained her Raw Women’s Title over Bayley, Mandy Rose, Mickie James, Sonya Deville, and Sasha Banks in the first-ever Women’s Elimination Chamber Match.
“I haven’t been able to read any tweets or anything like that because I just feel like I’ve been on such a high since last night. It’s been just incredible to know that we are doing all these matches and being able to be in the same kind of spotlight as the guys. We all put a lot of pressure on ourselves to make sure that WWE giving us these opportunities, they don’t feel like they made a mistake, or that we’ve failed them or anything. We do put a lot of pressure on ourselves to make sure we have a really good performance and I feel like last night everybody did such a great job of really making this history-making match a memorable one. I honestly felt comfortable as soon as the bell rang. I was really intimidated going into it obviously and really scared of all the things that could go wrong, or anybody getting hurt, but I felt really comfortable. And it felt like the crowd was so ready for it and so into it. I think it turned out perfect… except I didn’t win. Not quite perfect (ha ha). But pretty perfect.”
She was also asked if she feels the time is right for her rivalry with Banks to be renewed.
“I would love for that to happen and I really do think that we have such a great chemistry and it’s just a natural bond, that it doesn’t matter when it happens, we can pick it up anywhere. Not to sound cocky or anything, but I just think we have a really good connection. Whenever we have the time to tell that story, we would be able to. And last night after what she did, I think now is a good time! So I would love to start that up and get some payback.”

Dave Meltzer speculated during the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that the Women’s Elimination Chamber match will open tonight’s event.

At the event, former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey is set to sign her WWE contract.
“Nobody knew what was going on or that she was there,” Bliss said of Rousey’s Royal Rumble entrance. “She came out, and it was definitely a surprise, but I think it’s exciting that she comes to WWE because it brings a new fan base and a different dimension to WWE.
Also during this interview, Bliss reflected on being called up to the main roster to the SmackDown Live brand during the WWE Draft in 2016. “When I was brought up to SmackDown, I was one of the underwhelming draft picks,” Bliss said. “I had to make the most out of every opportunity, because a lot of times on WWE, if you don’t deliver, those opportunities don’t come back.”

Cesaro went from a singles competitor to a tag team performer with Sheamus. If you recall, they were in the middle of a best-of-7 series of matches against one another when then-RAW General Manager and WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley put them together as a tag team.
Sheamus and Cesaro have gone on to be very successful, winning the Raw Tag Team Championships 3 times so far. “Sometimes you get in a frustrated mindset,” said Cesaro. “Working with Sheamus reminded me to enjoy the moment. Sometimes, you have to let things take the natural course. As long as you work hard, good things will come. I firmly believe that.”
“I would like to think there is something special about Cesaro no matter what I do,” said Cesaro. “I just try to make the best of every single opportunity. I’m always trying to push forward and push the envelope. “That’s why Sheamus and I click so well, even as opponents. We never take it easy, we never take a night off, we always want to go out and deliver. That’s what we do as a team.”
He noted that performing the sharpshooter is a tribute to his former tag team partner, Tyson Kidd.
“My sharpshooter, that’s a Tyson Kidd shout-out and tribute,” said Cesaro. “I started doing the move after he got hurt. You may notice that I do the move, like Tyson did and like Owen Hart did, with the right leg, while Bret Hart and Nattie do it with the left.”

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently did a Q&A on Facebook and commented on a number of interesting topics.
During the session, a fan asked if The Shield will reunite again. If you recall, late last year, the sports entertainment company once again put Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose together as a group. However, their reunion was cut short once Ambrose, unfortunately, went down with an injury. “The Shield has been dealing with a lot of setbacks and injuries. But they will unite again. Be patient”
Finally, the current General Manager of WWE’s flagship show, Monday Night Raw, was asked which move hurts the most to take as well as well as the lessons that he has learned from his career. “The Last Ride. It’s like getting shot in the chest. Undertaker is 7 feet tall…when he lifts you over his head you’re 8 feet in the air. It’s a long ride down to the canvas” “Don’t wrestle injured. Take your time, heal up, and THEN get back to it. I rushed back way too quickly in the past. I know better now. I hope the others’ will see this post also and take my advice. They will have longer careers”

Longtime WWE superstar and former World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry gave his take on the potential return of Hulk Hogan to the sports entertainment company.
During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, the media outlet asked Henry what his thoughts were on Hogan coming back to WWE. Henry noted that he would be open to Hogan returning to WWE if he simply apologizes to the company’s current black superstars.
Hogan was fired from WWE in the summer of 2015 after racially charged comments from a sex tape came to light. Gawker alleged that Hogan only filed a lawsuit against them to prevent the racial statements from being released.
Hogan’s WWE return has depended on the company being reasonably sure that bringing him back won’t cause a big backlash due to his racist comments. It’s possible that WWE hires him in an Ambassador role.

Former Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion EC3 has addressed his decision to leave the promotion.
Newsweek.com has an article up looking at Impact Wrestling’s new management, several talents departing and how they will overcome these obstacles this year.
Alongside Bobby Lashley, EC3 was able to get out of his contract early, which in turn allowed him to sign with WWE. The sports entertainment company placed him in NXT, where he made his first appearance on the WWE Network at NXT Takeover: Philly last month.
“My decision to leave Impact had nothing to with their business or finances and everything with me wanting to challenge myself to something new. Leaving Impact was a very difficult decision as I had six months left on a very lucrative and talent-friendly contract. Anthem lived up to that contract and always treated me with the utmost respect as a businessman and a person.”

The winner of this match would be added to the main event of the Fastlane pay-per-view event next month that will see AJ Styles defend his WWE Title against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a Triple Threat Match. Now, the contest will be a Fatal 4-Way Match.
An unexpected end to #SDLive with a triple threat match made for #WWEFastlane…I’m going to make a bit more interesting.
WWE Hall of Famer Sting recently spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated to talk about various topics. During the interview, he opened up on his retirement from pro wrestling, which was at the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.
Seth Rollins wrestled Sting for the WWE Title at the 2015 Night of Champions PPV, which marked Sting’s last match after he suffered a neck injury after taking a powerbomb in the corner.
“I didn’t know if I was going to make any kind of announcement until I did it at the Hall of Fame,” said Sting. “I was wavering, I was kind of back-and-forth on it. I got hurt wrestling Seth [Rollins], and the neurosurgeons and everybody [were] saying I needed surgery, and then I had trouble with cervical spinal stenosis, or whatever they call it, and there were two areas in my neck that were really messed up bad, although I don’t have any pain or side-effects. One more bad fall and it’s not going to be good for me, so I just thought enough was enough.” Sting once again reiterated his desire to have a match with The Undertaker. This would be the only match that he would be willing to come out of retirement for.
“Undertaker,” confirmed Sting. “Now do I regret not leaving [sooner for WWE]? That’s actually a good question, but a tough one to answer. On one side, it’s easy to say, ‘Yeah, I wish I would have gone earlier.’ On the other hand, I really don’t have any regrets. But my dream match for more than a decade, or maybe two decades, was to have a good match against ‘Taker. I always wanted to have that.”
As seen on this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW in Des Moines, IA at the Wells Fargo Arena on the USA Network, Elias beat John Cena and Braun Strowman in a Triple Threat Match.
As a result of this win, Elias has earned the right to enter last in the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match at the pay-per-view event that takes place on Sunday, February 25th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and will air on the WWE Network.
Dave Meltzer shed some light on why the sports entertainment company decided to do this on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. According to the longtime journalist, WWE had Elias pin Cena to help him get over and to follow up on the feud between the two superstars that has transpired over the last few weeks on television. The belief is that they will wrestle each other again later down the road.
Regarding the post-match angle where Strowman beat down both talents, the idea behind it was to help build him over as one of the top superstar heading into WrestleMania season.
Former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio made a surprise appearance in the Royal Rumble match at the pay-per-view event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at Wells Fargo Center on the WWE Network last month.
Mysterio recently spoke did an interview with The UK Mirror about his surprise appearance and a potential run with the sports entertainment company for longer than one night. Here is what he had to say:
“I want to say that there is a big possibility that I will be back. [We’re] figuring out what the situation is, you know from both ends. But there is definitely a positive feedback on behalf of the fans, on behalf of the WWE staff and behalf of myself man. I think we’re possibly going to sit down and negotiate something where we can both work together and have a good time and enjoy.”
WWE is scheduled to hold a live event at Madison Square Garden in New York City on March 16th. The promotion recently updated the card for the show.
Braun Strowman has been added to the Triple Threat Match for the Universal Title. Also, Elias will face John Cena in a singles match. Here is the updated card:
