AEW Licenses Guns N’ Roses ‘November Rain’ For Full Gear

AEW has licensed the classic Guns N’ Roses song, ‘November Rain.’ AEW President Tony Khan thanked the legendary rock band on social media, and said the song will be used in promotional videos for the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view and ‘AEW November to Remember’ shows. He teased that fans could hear ‘AEW November Rain’ before the PPV.

Recently, AEW has licensed multiple songs for various uses including “The Final Countdown” by Europe for Bryan Danielson’s entrance. They have also licensed “Carry On Wayward Son” by Kansas, which was used as The Elite’s entrance music and Baltimora’s “Tarzan Boy” for Jack Perry during his ‘Jungle Boy’ gimmick. He also used “Walk” by Pantera for Rob Van Dam’s AEW debut.

Tony Khan on using licensed songs in AEW

Tony Khan has licensed a lot of songs in recent years but they haven’t been for a reasonable price. During Battleground Podcast, he explained:

“Sometimes people ask for money that I don’t think is reasonable, other times we have gotten deals that I thought were very fair.”

Khan has revealed that he paid for all of the licensed music in perpetuity. He added:

“Every great moment where we’ve licensed music, we still have that music, I paid for the rights in perpetuity. I’ve had a lot of other opportunities to license music and work with a lot of great artists. We’ve done all kinds of great stuff, and hopefully, someday all of that will be available for people to watch in perpetuity on the library forever.”

AEW is promoting their shows in the build-up to AEW Full Gear as ‘November To Remember’. AEW Dynamite will take place in Bridgeport, Connecticut while AEW Collision takes place on Thursday in Albany, New York. Baron Corbin Responds To Kurt Angle Lamenting WWE Wasting His Career Despite WrestleMania 35 Win

Former WWE star Baron Corbin recently responded to WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle and he wished that he could make him proud.

‘The Lone Wolf’ emerged victorious over the Olympic gold medalist at WrestleMania 35 in the legend’s farewell match. Corbin was expected to gain momentum following the win, especially after he won the King of the Ring that year. However, things went south for him and he was ultimately released this month.

During a recent interview, Angle lamented how WWE handled Corbin’s career since his win in Angle’s retirement match. The former World Champion felt his retirement match against Corbin was wasted as it didn’t benefit Corbin’s career.

Taking to social media, Baron Corbin addressed Angle’s comments and wrote that the win was one of the reasons he wished to have become world champion. He said it would honor what Angle did for him. Baron Corbin further expressed his regret for how things didn’t work out but appreciated Angle for his help. Check out his Tweet below:

Corbin’s career received a little push when he arrived in WWE NXT last year. He had a great run on the developmental brand and even won the NXT Tag Team Championships with Bron Breakker. However, WWE decided not to renew his contract when it expires. Corbin had previously said that WWE ‘fumbled the bag’ by releasing him.

Taz Says WWE Fan is ‘Dead Wrong’ About His Career

Pro wrestling veteran Taz recently refuted a belief as a fan claimed that the AEW star held resentment towards his former employer.

On social media, ‘The Human Suplex Machine’ shut down the belief and explained that it wasn’t true. He further said that WWE gave him a new career as a color commentator which he still enjoys.

Taz made his impactful debut in WWE during the 2000 Royal Rumble. He faced Kurt Angle in his debut and emerged victorious. But his run with WWE was short-lived. Mounting injuries cut short his in-ring career and he went on to become a color commentator for WWE shows. He eventually decided to hang up his boots and embrace the new role. In 2019, he joined All Elite Wrestling as a commentator and he is enjoying his run with the promotion.

Taz has been on the sidelines. Before the fifth anniversary of AEW Dynamite, he announced that that he’d be stepping from his role as an announcer as he was set to undergo total knee replacement surgery. After his surgery, the former ECW star also provided an update on his health. His last appearance before hiatus took place at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam when Hook officially retired the FTW Championship.

This is not the first time the legend has responded to a fan on social media. Previously, he fired back at a fan who claimed WWE saved his career.

Dakota Kai’s comeback took place at a time when SKY is the Number 1 contender for the Women’s World Title, currently held by Liv Morgan. They are set to lock horns with the title on the line soon.

IYO SKY also vowed to become the Women’s World Champion and feels confident that every member of Damage CTRL will be a champion. She said:

“Yes and I need the Women’s World Championship. We will be all the champions.”

Dakota Kai had been away from the programming for several months due to an injury. Kai’s last match before her return was on July 27th at a live event in Tokyo, Japan, where she faced Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair. Following that she was written of the shows as she suffered a torn meniscus injury.

Last night, Kai also competed inside the squared circle when she teamed up with IYO SKY and Kairi Sane to face the Pure Fusion Collective (Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, and Sonya Deville). In the final moments of the match, SKY performed a moonsault on Baszler to earn the pinfall victory.

Rob Van Dam Praises WWE’s Renewed Focus on Legends

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam has stated that he feels WWE is focusing more on the legends now and he’s glad that they are being acknowledged.

Several legends alongside Rob Van Dam have appeared in WWE recently. NXT held its November 6th edition of the weekly show at the famous 2300 Arena and it featured the return of several ECW originals.

During Busted Open Radio, Rob Van Dam said that it was “an awesome time to be a legend” in WWE. He explained how WWE has been acknowledging the legends more in recent times. He said:

“It’s an awesome time to be a legend because WWE has come around to where they’re focusing more, putting energy on those who laid the ground before us, and that’s important, and it’s really changed the business for people like you and me, Tommy [Dreamer], and many of our peers. It’s really changed in a good way. Just a few years ago, I don’t even know if the wrestles knew who used to do it before them because you just tap into your ego so much to get into this job that you’re thinking of me and nobody else.”

Rob Van Dam believes that more legends are likely to make appearances often rather than just nostalgic cameos. He further stated that the veterans will receive more love and acknowledgment for their valuable contributions to the business.

“But to take a moment and say, ‘Hey, let’s show some respect,’ it goes a long way. It’s a really good time to be a legend. The legends, I feel like they’re gonna be popping up a lot, doing more work, more promotions, be part of the show more, and I love it. I love history. I love how it adds depth, as opposed to erasing the history and acting like it didn’t exist…I do feel like very much like I keep saying, moving forward, even if it’s just on the royalty deals for the legend deals or whatever, I just think it’s gonna be a good year for the legends. They’re gonna get a lot of love and acknowledgment for what they’ve done, and that’s really important.”

‘The Whole F’n Show,’ recently revealed that he has been on a Legends deal with WWE and had also made an appearance on the October 29th edition of WWE NXT.

At NXT 2300, Rob Van Dam was involved in a backstage segment with Kelani Jordan, who was practicing RVD’s signature pre-match stretch which is a split on two folding chairs. Later that night, Wes Lee assaulted him backstage. However, the ECW legend avenged the attack by costing Lee his match against Je’Von Evans.

Rikishi Feels Solo Sikoa Will Dethrone Cody Rhodes

WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi recently reckoned that his son, Solo Sikoa could be the one to dethrone WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes.

Solo Sikoa recently pinned Roman Reigns to earn the victory for his team comprising Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga in the 6-man tag team match at WWE Crown Jewel PLE. It seems that bigger things are in store for his future, given that he pinned ‘OTC.’

On his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi reflected on Solo Sikoa’s massive moment. He believes WWE is pushing him to the next level and he could be the one to defeat Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. He said:

“Like I mentioned [on] the last podcast we had, Solo’s a made man. For that to happen, there’s definitely, we see plans within this kid [of] what can be the next level for him. We talked about, does he need a belt? Well, after this [pin] on Roman, I can see maybe Solo being the one to take it off of Cody.”

Rikishi feels now that Solo has defeated the GOAT, he could be considered the GOAT-slayer. He said:

“I talked about maybe Roman will come back and take it off of Cody. But after seeing that, you beat the GOAT. I believe it was two or three spikes, but now, it’s like okay, you beat the GOAT, now you’re considered the GOAT. The GOAT-slayer. So who knows?”

At the upcoming WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, The Original Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos & Sami Zayn) will face The New Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa & Jacob Fatu) in a WarGames match.

Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair Will Have ‘Backup’ For Their Title Defense on Raw

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair recently revealed that they will fly Naomi to have her in their corner on next week’s WWE Raw.

On last night’s edition of WWE SmackDown, tag champions Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair were outnumbered when Candice LeRae tried to interfere during their match against WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton. However, Naomi evened the odds and took out LeRae which helped Belair and Cargill earn the victory.

Speaking on the SmackDown LowDown, Naomi discussed her upcoming title match against WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax. Cargill and Belair then arrived and talked about their title match on the November 11th episode of WWE Raw. They asked her to support them, and Naomi said that she would. Cargill and Belair further stated that they would fly Naomi out to WWE Raw to have her in their corner.

Earlier this year, on Night One of WWE WrestleMania XL, Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, and Naomi had joined forces to take on Damage CTRL’s Dakota Kai, Kairi Sane, and Asuka. They have been quite a cohesive team and they always have had each other’s back.

Cargill and Belair are now gearing up to defend their titles against WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez on the November 11th edition of WWE Raw. Their latest title defense took place at WWE Crown Jewel PLE. On the other hand, Naomi will challenge Nia Jax for her title on the November 15th episode of WWE SmackDown.

During his Kliq This podcast, he said:

“I had sciatica, and it didn’t go away, and I went and got an MRI, and I’ve got a couple herniated discs, and that ain’t from anything except cumulative damage to doing that ‘fake’ bullsh*t, landing on wood, with a 300-pound guy landing on top of you.”

WWE Star Wants To Work With Bron Breaker – When He’s More Established

WWE star Omos has reckoned that the WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker needs to be built strongly like former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, before facing him in a match. Omos, the 7’3 powerhouse had battled Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 39. Though he suffered a defeat, Omos posed a massive challenge for ‘The Beast Incarnate.’

During a recent Q&A episode on Undertaker’s Patreon, the gigantic wrestler said that he believes he could lock horns with Bron Breakker but he wants him to build more equity to make the clash exciting. Omos explained:

“My personal opinion, and maybe you can agree or disagree with me, I think [he might need] some more building him to that point, because I just remember wrestling Brock last year. I think people are going to expect that, but I think Brock had so much equity that he made sense and I think before you put him with me, you want to give him a lot more equity first.

So that way he’s people feel like he’s on top of the world like he’s gone through everybody, he’s become the unstoppable machine that he is, and they say, ‘What are you going to do with a giant?’ That makes for an even better story overall.”

Omos’ last appearance before hiatus took place at the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Meanwhile, Bron Breakker has been going strong on the main roster and became a two-time Intercontinental Champion and has defeated the likes of Sami Zayn and Jey Uso to remain a champion. Recently, WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker shared his thoughts on Omos.

Nunzio Fine With NXT 2300 Match Getting Cut Short: ‘I’m Not Paid by the Hour’

Former ECW star Nunzio was part of Wednesday’s NXT 2300 from the famous former ECW Arena and he challenged Tony D’Angelo for the NXT North American Championship. However, things didn’t go as per the plan as he couldn’t dethrone the champ. Moreover, the match duration was also reduced.

Nunzio and Tony Mamaluke had a FBI reunion on the show and were among several ECW originals who returned. They shared a backstage moment with Tony D’Angelo and family which led to the title match. However, the championship bout went just a couple of minutes.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Nunzio spoke about the NXT locker room environment and also reflected on competing in a title match that went a little shorted than what he expected. Here is what Nunzio said:

“I thought it was great. I actually went with Francine. She didn’t really know anybody and was like, ‘I want to go with you.’ I said, ‘Honestly, I know who they are but I don’t know anybody either.’ Everybody was very nice and respectful. I talked to a few guys and always try to help out with a couple of matches. I talked to some people, trying to get my own match going. A little shorter than I wanted. Some people went over and stuff. I’m not paid by the hour. Take the minutes off, it’s okay. I love when they say that, ‘I’m sorry I cut your two.’ Okay, so I do three. It’s what you do in that five or six minutes.”

In the final moments on the match, The Family’s Luca Crusifino distracted the referee while Channing “Stacks Lorenzo” handed a crowbar to D’Angelo. The champ threw the weapon towards Nunzio and the referee thought he was about to use it.

However, the ref then snatched then weapon. This allowed D’Angelo to capitalize during the chaos and planted the 52-year-old star with a delayed chokeslam to earn the win. Following the match The Family and FBI embraced and showed respect to each other to end the segment.

NXT held its November 6th edition of show at the famous 2300 Arena and fans witnessed some epic moments with the return of several ECW originals.

D-Von further told him that he would see a lot of success in the future and advised him to keep his head up despite the loss.

“Listen, we all lose. We’ve lost many a times. We’ve been successful at it, and when I mean success, even though we’ve lost, we’ve had a lot of successful matches after that. You’re young, you’re hungry and you’re a hell of a talent, so keep your head up and don’t you dare look down.”

Bubba Ray Dudley had teamed up with Trick Williams to face Ridge Holland and “All Ego” Ethan Page. The final moments of the match saw Ridge Holland winning by rolling up Trick Williams. Following the match, Ridge and Ethan attacked Trick, but Bubba helped fight them off. The duo then hit some classic Dudley Boyz offense with D-Von Dudley returning after the match as well.

The Undertaker Defends His Critiques of Modern Day Wrestlers

WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker has defended his comments made against the modern pro wrestlers despite facing backlash from fans.

‘The Phenom’ had grabbed the headlines after he criticized the current-day wrestlers and said that there was a lack of character development. Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker addressed his comments and said that people take criticism personally. He also said that it bothered him seeing wrestlers having passive-aggressive responses on social media.

“That’s the big thing, especially with wrestling people and wrestling fans—everything feels like if I criticize you about something publicly, it’s a personal attack. That’s how people see it. But really, it’s not a personal attack. I’m giving my opinion on how I would have done it, or what worked for me. That doesn’t make it the right way; it was just right for me.”

– The Undertaker

The Undertaker suggests the wrestlers should concentrate on why they can’t get fans invested in them rather than battling a war of words on social media. He further made it clear that his remarks were meant to help pro wrestlers. Here is what he said:

“In wrestling, and maybe in general, if you criticize something or say something, people take it personally. Maybe ‘soft’ wasn’t the right choice of words. I was just starting to talk and come out of my shell then. I didn’t realize how far Joe Rogan’s podcast would reach or who would be watching. What killed me though was the passive-aggressive tweets from other wrestlers. I was like, ‘Oh you gotta kidding me? You know, you need to get off Twitter and focus on why they’re not drawing anything.’

But there I go again—I can’t help myself. I love you guys. But when I offer critiques, people think I’m attacking them personally. It’s just my opinion, and I’m not trying to help, I’m not trying to do somebody.”

The Undertaker

The Undertaker’s most recent WWE appearance took place at the WrestleMania 40 where he assisted Cody Rhodes to beat Roman Reigns in the headlining match of the event. The Undertaker, who had been a locker room leader during his time in WWE, also recently said that the backstage environment has changed.

Jimmy Uso Warns Things Will Get Heated If Sami Zayn Appears On SmackDown

Jimmy Uso is not convinced that Sami Zayn is ‘family’ and has warned his brother Jey Uso about Zayn’s involvement in The Bloodline business.

During the latest edition of WWE Raw, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and Sami Zayn had a fiery conversation and the segment ended with Jey inviting Sami to the upcoming edition of WWE SmackDown to address the issues with Roman Reigns.

In a Raw Exclusive, Jey was asked to comment on the tense situation, and he said that he was hopeful that Zayn would accept the invitation. However, he was interrupted by his brother Jimmy who said that things will get heated if Zayn showed up on Friday night. Jimmy Uso said:

“I hope Sami Zayn just stays where he needs to stay at, Uce. He don’t need to show up or nothing. He ain’t Uce, he’s not family. Listen, you think tonight was heated? If he shows up to SmackDown, Uce, it’s gonna get real heated, and I don’t want to be like, ‘I told you so.'”

At last Saturday’s WWE Crown Jewel, The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga & Jacob Fatu) defeated the team of Roman Reigns & The Usos. Solo Sikoa got the win for his team after pinning the OTC. This marked Reigns’ second pinfall in 16 months and it came after a series of Samoan Spikes from the new Tribal Chief.

Following the match, Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Jacob Fatu, and Tonga Loa started assaulting Reigns and The Usos. However, it was Sami Zayn who ran down to the ring to the aid of The OG Bloodline. Though Sami teased joining forces with Solo, he attacked Solo and helped Reigns and The Usos to fight The Bloodline. But things became confusing as Sami attempted to hit a Helluva Kick on Solo but accidentally hit Reigns, while Sikoa managed to escape.

Cody Rhodes Eyes Leadership Role When He Retires from WWE

WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes recently opened up on possibly working in a non-wrestling capacity in the company.

‘The American Nightmare’ has been a fan-favorite ever since he returned back to the company. After clinching the ultimate prize in the company at this year’s WrestleMania, he has been having a hectic schedule with regular appearances on the weekly WWE shows as well as media appearances. He has embraced the role of a leader, something which he also desires in a non-wrestling capacity.

Cody Rhodes told Cathy Kelley on WWE YouTube, that he was not fully prepared for. He has revealed that he has to attend corporate meetings and events which he is not comfortable with but he has to be involved.

“There are some things that come with it that were surprising to me. It might sound cool, it might sound cheesy. There is an element of leadership involved that they don’t say, they just kind of plug you in. You’re attending corporate meetings and events that you would typically be out of your depth at, and you’re supposed to be there and be on.”

Rhodes said that he is excited about this new challenge. He recalled that he had leadership role in AEW before heading back to WWE. The Undisputed WWE Champion felt that he failed in that role but he is working to improve. He also sees his future with WWE which is beyond competing in the ring.

“That’s something that has really excited me. In the past, I felt like when I had a leadership role in wrestling, I didn’t do well with it. I feel like I failed with it, but I knew why perhaps I failed with it. This has been an opportunity to plug back in. Maybe there is a future beyond the actual wrestling with WWE in a different setting. That’s something I’ve been thinking about lately.”

Several WWE stars have welcomed the opportunity of becoming on-screen authority role or commentary roles. With Cody Rhodes having experience serving as an EVP in AEW, there is a huge possibility that we might witness him in the management role sometime down the road in WWE as well.

At Saturday’s WWE Crown Jewel Premium Live Event, WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther will lock horns to crown the new WWE Crown Jewel Champion.

Speaking on his 1 Of A Kind with RVD podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer reflected on his experience at WWE NXT and the WWE Performance Center. The former WWE Champion recalled that he has been on the brand in the past but things have changed drastically ever since. Rob Van Dam said that being involved in the show was a great experience and revealed meeting several fellow legends. He said:

“I’ve been there twice before, and it was a long time ago, ten years ago, and it did look a little different. They definitely had moved some stuff around, and if they had that many warehouses, then I didn’t realize it before, but a lot of that is theirs. It was really cool. It was just a good experience, everybody was grateful. Everyone’s happy and giving the legends a lot of love. So nothing terribly exciting, but also seeing a lot of my peers as well, and Bubba Ray Dudley, he was standing in the ring when I walked in one time to that area, and I slid in behind him to surprise him, and his calfs almost exploded in my face. I texted him and told him that [laughs], but his calves were huge and veins popping out. Looks like he’s been doing some toe raises, so good job, Bubba. Saw Shawn Michaels, saw Terry Taylor, yes I did [see William Regal].”

Rob Van Dam was also asked about his interaction with NXT General Manager Ava. He said that she was cool and made it clear that everyone that he met was cool.

“She was cool. Everybody was cool. I was just kind of like an extra, popping in and being me, and they were all there, learning and doing….I met everybody, everyone was super cool. They all came up and go, ‘Hi, I’m Veronica, good to meet you.”

RVD further revealed that he had been keeping an eye on the show to prepare for the following week. It is currently not known how Rob Van Dam will be involved in NXT 2300 and was tight-lipped regarding it on the podcast as well.

Maria Kanellis Recovering from Surgery for Adrenal Gland Mass

AEW and ROH star Mike Bennett recently provided an update on his wife Maria Kanellis, who underwent surgery.

In July, Maria had revealed that she had a mass on her adrenal gland. She had revealed that the mass was borderline and doctors were concerned. Later that month, Maria said that she would be having a Retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy and the surgery was confirmed for October.

On October 24th, Maria’s husband Mike Bennett revealed that Maria underwent a successful procedure and thanked fans for their support.

“Maria’s surgery went well. She is staying overnight at the hospital for observation and should be released tomorrow. My wife is a badass. Thank you to everyone who’s reached out. We love y’all so very much.”

Maria is currently under a contract with AEW. In October 2022, Maria Kanellis had joined AEW alongside her husband Mike and Matt Taven. Her signing took place after she parted ways with TNA Wrestling.

However, Maria previously revealed that the deal is due to expire on October 31st. She had reached out to get clarity on her future with the company but she hasn’t “heard anything yet”. Maria had said that she’s trying not to focus too much on her health concerns or her future with AEW. She would get into the ‘spooky season’ by setting up some Halloween decorations.

Orange Cassidy Doesn’t Want to be the Face of AEW

AEW star Orange Cassidy has made it clear that he is not interested in becoming the face of the promotion.

On the latest edition of AEW Dynamite, Jon Moxley and the Blackpool Combat Club yet again wreaked havoc and this time around assaulted Chuck Taylor. Claudio Castagnoli even stomped him with a steel chair wrapped around his neck before Orange Cassidy rushed down to attend to his best friend.

Orange Cassidy told Good Karma Wrestling that doesn’t believe he is the face of AEW nor he wants that. He said:

“No, and I don’t think that I am, nor should I be. I don’t want that. I never wanted that. I wanted to do what I had to do and go home. After what happened last night, it’s been made very clear to me that I think I have no choice in the situation. Before, early in AEW, there was always this thing of ‘Oh, he’s going to try. He’ll care this time.’ I don’t feel that I have any choice in this matter. I have to fight now. I have to fight. I don’t want to, but if the people around me that I care about the most are going to be hurt, then I really have no choice in the matter.”

He then reflected on what went down on Wednesday night and said that he never imagined that Taylor would get assaulted by BCC. Orange Cassidy said:

“At that very moment, it was, I was literally one second late. I slid into the ring right as Claudio was stomping the chair on his neck. I’m not very calculated, obviously, I just react. All day, I was just reacting. Earlier in the night, Chuck said stuff to me that I needed to hear, it’s what a good friend would do. I’m just reacting. I never thought I’d see him laid out again. He was injured before by Trent, and to see that again, it’s something I never thought I would have to see, but I did. At that moment, I don’t want to take the cop out answer and say I blacked out. Just everything that was going on, it wasn’t something I expected. All of my thoughts will be made clear on Dynamite. The Fright Night thing.”

Orange Cassidy has said that his thoughts will be made clear on next week’s AEW Fright Night Dynamite. The show is set to air live on TBS and will emanate from the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

JBL Teases Fun Plans In Coming Weeks

WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield (JBL) has teased the fans about the next move in his career.

The pro wrestling legend dropped a photo on social media which is from his appearance at MLW Fightland in September and wrote that he was just getting started. He also wrote that the next couple of weeks could be fun for him.

In recent months, JBL has showed in several promotions including TNA, GCW, OVW, AAA, and MLW. Amid the appearances, there has been speculation about his status with WWE. He had initially signed with the company in 1995 and he has been a part of the WWE roster ever since. However, he drew attention when he accompanied Nic Nemeth for his match at the Triplemanía XXXII: Mexico City event on August 17th.

There have been reports that Bradshaw remains under a Legends deal. Last month, while speaking on a Q&A with Sportskeeda, JBL was asked if he’s still under a deal with WWE. He was tight-lipped about his status but said that the speculation around him was wrong. He said:

“I’m going to answer this as politically correct, as correct as possible. I’ve never answered a question about my contract. I can tell you 100% this. I’ve seen speculation about me on the internet. It’s all wrong. 100% wrong. I’m not going to answer whether I am or not because WWE has always had a confidentiality clause in it. I’ve never thought it was good business to discuss my contract or anybody else’s. Sorry that I’m refusing to answer. The speculation about me has been wrong.”

There is a possibility that JBL has flexibility in his legends deal with WWE. This is something fellow WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam has talked about recently.

Details on Sting’s Multi-Year ‘Legends’ Deal With AEW

Pro wrestling icon Sting recently revealed that he inked a multi-year deal with AEW. Sting hung up his boots at AEW Revolution earlier this year. He teamed up with Darby Allin and defeated The Young Bucks at the show. While he won’t compete inside the ring, he will continue to stay associated with the promotion.

Sting addressed his future with AEW in an interview on Kayfabe Friends at the 58th Annual Cauliflower Alley Club Reunion. ‘The Icon’ opened up on signing a new contract with AEW. He further added that he signed a deal similar to WWE’s Legends Deal. He highlighted that under the contract, he will make appearances from time to time.

“I signed a multi-year deal with AEW, obviously not to wrestle anymore, but it’s like a licensing deal, a legends deal if you want to call it that. So I’ll do appearances with them on and off, depending on what they want and all.”

What Sting is doing after Wrestling

In addition to this, he expressed his love for real estate. He said that he was into real estate investments before becoming a pro wrestling. He said:

“I’ve done real estate, I did real estate before I ever was a pro wrestler, so I’ve always loved real estate. A lot of people say, ‘Oh, are you a real estate agent?’ No, I’m not an agent. I’m an investor. I was flipping houses before flipping houses was a term. So I made money in real estate before wrestling, so I’m doing that again, and I love it.”

Sting’s latest appearance for AEW took place at the AEW All In: London 2024 pay-per-view back in August. He came to the aid of his former tag-team partner Darby Allin, who was getting set on fire by The Elite.

Rob Van Dam Discusses The Flexibility In His WWE Legends Deal

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam recently shared details on his Legends Deal with WWE. RVD has competed in AEW a handful of times recently. However, he has made appearances for WWE as well. His last appearance for AEW took place in April while he made an appearance in WWE on the September 13th on WWE SmackDown premiere show on USA Network.

Recently, Rob Van Dam had revealed that he was on a WWE Legends Deal during his appearances in AEW. Soon, speculation sparked if he had inked a new contract. However, the WWE Hall of Famer cleared the air. While speaking with SEScoops correspondent Dominic DeAngelo on his 1 of a Kind Podcast, Van DAm was asked to reflect on his comments regarding his Legends Deal. Here is what he said:

“Yeah, I saw today that it’s news, people are congratulating me and stuff. Okay, I just liked a comment anyway. It’s what I do. They think I’m confirming something whenever I like it, but I try to like all the comments. But yeah, a lot of congratulations, and then I did mention on that one, yeah, it is true, in 2021 I did a legends deal.”

Flexibility in the deal

DeAngelo said that it seemed that some talents have restrictions on what they can do while being under contract. However, others could “go do stuff” while being on a Legends Deal. Rob Van Dam replied that he feels it was a “flexible template” that varied, depending on the individual circumstances. He explained:

“I think it’s a flexible template that they have, and depending on everybody’s individual circumstances, you might say, ‘Hey, I already signed with these two video games already,’ so I think they have them excluded from it or something like that. Or if you say, ‘I want to do it, but I don’t want to give you guys exclusivity to action figures because I got five other companies that are doing it,’ then they might say, ‘Well, then we don’t want to sign you up.’ But also, they gotta pay you, even if you’re not under the contract. If they’re selling your likeness, they owe it to you anyway, but they’re not obligated tomorrow make anything new with you if you don’t have a Legends Deal.”

Rob Van Dam is among the list of WWE legends, including DDP, Victoria, Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura, and Armando Estrada, who have penned WWE Legends contracts.

Daniel Garcia Says Jokes About NXT Female Talents Over His Potential WWE Move “Undermines” Them

Daniel Garcia is not joining NXT anytime soon but he has addressed the jokes surrounding his rumored NXT move.

Fans had been speculating that Garcia could jump ship to WWE and join NXT following his defeat to MJF at AEW All Out 2024. However, he recently made it clear that he is not parting ways with AEW and even signed a new contract with the promotion.

As Daniel Garcia’s contract with AEW was running out, fans joked that he should join NXT due to the attractive women at WWE’s Performance Center. Speaking on the South Kongress podcast, Garcia stated that he understood why people found it funny. However, he feels that it undermined how talented NXT is. He showered praise on WWE’s developmental brand whose roster is stacked with a plethora of talents. Daniel Garcia said:

“I get why people think it was funny and it kept blowing up and people kept sending me things. To me, it completely undermines how great NXT is. I feel like NXT right now is hot, it’s on fire, they have such great talent, men and women, international talent from all over the world. People of all different experience levels.

When people kept saying I’m just going to sign there because there are a bunch of attractive women, I think it undermines the work rate, the talent of the entire roster. They have a great roster on their hands. They’re doing a bunch of great things over there. It undermines and takes away from what they’re doing over there.”

Daniel Garcia is set to join forces with Private Party (Zay & Quen) and face Jack Perry & The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite.

Jelly Roll Thanks Austin Theory For Viral WWE SummerSlam Spot

Country star Jelly Roll was heavily involved at this year’s WWE SummerSlam PLE and got into the ring for some action. He has thanked WWE star Austin Theory for their viral spot at the Cleveland event.

During the show, Jelly Roll performed “America The Beautiful” and his hit song “Liar.” Later in the night, he got himself inside the squared circle for some action. He not only hit chair shots but also hit the five-knuckle shuffle and a flawless chokeslam on Austin Theory.

Jelly Roll opens up on the conversation with Austin Theory

Roll recently made an appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast and gave a shout-out to Austin Theory for making him look great in the viral spot at WWE SummerSlam. He even labeled Theory a “superhero” for handling the moment. He said:

“To shoot on it for a second, ’cause I haven’t gotten to do this yet, and this is where I’ve been hoping I’d get to do it. Let’s go. Austin Theory is a superhero. Yeah, he is a hero, is what he is. And I’m not in the business, so I don’t gotta carry kayfabe. Dude made me look like a rock star. I love that dude and will forever, ’cause he told me that whole night, he was like, ‘I got you, dog, trust me.’

Ahead of the event, Jelly Roll caught up with R-Truth and The Miz. They predicted which could be the top three viral moments of the night. They included their spot alongside Roman Reigns’ return and Logan Paul’s flip. He added:

“And ’cause I sat down with R-Truth and The Miz earlier in the night, and I said, ‘Look, y’all, if we do this right, we should have a top three viral moment.’ I was like, ‘Roman’s return, Logan’s flip, our Five Knuckle Shuffle and choke slam—that should be the three moments.’ Yep, it was the three moments, by the way. Dead on. And I was like, ‘If we pull this…’ and you know something you’ll appreciate about this…”

Austin Theory had previously revealed that the initial plans were different. The chokeslam was not in the plans but he convinced WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H to allow Jelly Roll to hit the chokeslam on him.
