Update On The Revival Returning Soon

Former NXT tag team champions The Revival are expected back in action in time for the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 34 season.

Scott Dawson has been out of action since August when he suffered a right bicep injury. Early estimates had him missing about 5-6 months. Assuming his physical rehabilitation progressed at a normal pace, he could be back in the ring within 4-6 weeks.

Dawson’s partner Dash Wilder has been off RAW since The Revival’s last TV match on July 24th. Since then, he’s competed in some singles matches, losing 6 straight matches on Main Event in September and October. He competed at last month’s special Starrcade live event from North Carolina, losing to Dustin Rhodes.

The Revival will be a welcomed addition to freshen up RAW’s tag team division when they return in early 2018.

Roman Reigns & Triple H Hype Their Match Friday Night In Abu Dhabi

Roman Reigns’ Intercontinental championship will be on the line when he battles WWE COO Triple H at Friday night’s live event from Abu Dhabi. Both men spoke with GulfNews.com about the match.

Reigns said he’s a fighting champion and has no problem putting the gold on the line against anybody. “I’m super excited,” he said. “Going against Triple H, I think that speaks for itself. I’m always down to defend my yard… It’s not just a regular match, it’s for my Intercontinental title. I’m looking forward to put it up on the line… that’s the type of champion I want to be.”

Triple H said “we’ll see” what happens when the Big Dog and The Game step in the ring together. They’ve tangled before and he thinks his intensity will give him the edge.

“I bring a different intensity that my era brought to the ring. This is kind of a rematch from WrestleMania 32… and Roman is probably one of the most intense competitors in the WWE right now so I look forward to stepping in the ring with him. He calls himself the ‘Big Dog’, I call myself ‘The Game’… So, we’ll see.”

Friday night will mark the first time Triple H has challenged for the Intercontinental Championship since 2006. He’s a 5-time IC champion.

Update On Laurel Van Ness Leaving Impact Wrestling (Spoilers)

Last week Squared Circle Sirens broke the news that Impact Wrestling Knockout Laurel Van Ness has requested her release.

A problem with Van Ness asking for her release is that she will be winning the Knockouts Championship on the episode of Impact Wrestling that airs this Thursday. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Van Ness requested her release on the same night that she won the title at the recent set of TV tapings.

The former WWE Tough Enough competitor, who is currently dating Zack Ryder, probably should have informed management about her desire to leave prior to being crowned the new Knockouts Champion.

It remains to be seen how Impact handles her departure – whether she’s stripped of the gold or if she drops the title at the next set of tapings before being granted her release.

Actor Stephen Amell Wants The Bullet Club On ‘Arrow’

Actor Stephen Amell is no stranger to professional wrestling. He’s appeared on WWE television several times and even wrestled in a tag team match against Cody Rhodes back at SummerSlam 2015. Cody has crossed over into Amell’s universe as well, having a recurring role as Derek Sampson on Amell’s super hero show Arrow.

At the Heroes And Villains Fan Fest in Atlanta over the weekend, Amell expressed an interest in working with Cody Rhodes again. Should Cody return to Arrow, Amell thinks he should definitely “be surrounded by his Bullet Club friends.”

“I’m trying to get those guys to come out to one of these shows, as a group, I think that would be amazing,” Amell said. “Those guys are great. Matt and Nick and Kenny and Cody being the main guys I’ve been able to hang out with. I appreciate anyone that does something in an entrepreneurial spirit. Those guys are really paving their own way.”

Amell continued, “I mean, we would decimate them in one episode. They would be the group that we would foil in act one, and then figure out what the real problem was. If Sampson was to come back on the show, it would only make sense that he would be surrounded by his group of Bullet Club friends.”

Discussion: Do you watch Arrow? Have you seen Cody Rhodes’ appearances on the show?

Don’t miss your chance to see Enzo Amore, Kalisto, Gentleman Jack Gallagher and all your favorite Superstars at 205 pounds and under in action three days in a row.”

The first three shows have been announced:

Tickets for each of these shows go on sale this Friday morning, December 8th.

During an investor conference call earlier this year, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon laid out his vision for 205 Live, which he described as, “another whole division in which we are starting up now, which will again have its own sources of revenue in terms of live events as well as other things that are all – merchandising, licensing and all of that.”

NXT has proven that there is demand for a WWE live events that feature talent other than the ‘main roster’ Superstars of of RAW and SmackDown. It remains to be seen if WWE’s cruiserweights will draw fans to arenas, but we will find out next month.

Fozzy Show Announced For WrestleMania Sunday

Chris Jericho’s metal band Fozzy released tour information for shows scheduled from February through April. The group is playing a show in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire on Sunday, April 8th (WrestleMania Sunday), an indication that Jericho will not be appearing at WWE’s biggest show of the year.

Fozzy also has a show scheduled for January 28th, so it’s safe to say he won’t be making a surprise appearance at the Royal Rumble either.

Jericho is currently on hiatus from WWE and is not expected back in a regular capacity any time soon. He’ll be wrestling against Kenny Omega at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 12 event on on January 4th.

Later in the year (October 27-31), Jericho is presenting the first annual Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Rager cruise, which will feature talent and matches from Ring of Honor.

Pontiac Silverdome Still Standing After Unsuccessful Demolition Job (Video)

On Sunday morning, the Pontiac Silverdome stadium in Pontiac, Michigan was scheduled to be demolished via explosives. As seen in the video below, the venue withstood the planned implosion and remains standing.

The Pontiac Silverdome played host to WrestleMania III back in 1987, one of the most iconic events in pro wrestling history.

A representative from Adamo, the demolition company, said 8 charges became disconnected and didn’t go off.

Local officials told Detroit’s WXYZ news, “We just have to wait and let gravity do its job. It’s going to collapse, we just don’t know when.”

Alberto El Patron Explains Why He & Paige Are No Longer Engaged (Audio)

Impact Wrestling star Alberto El Patron has confirmed that he is no longer engaged to WWE Superstar Paige.

On the latest episode of Konnan’s Keepin It 100 Podcast, Alberto explained that the main reason he and Paige ended their relationship is their conflicting schedules. Up until recently, Paige was living in Orlando and training for her in-ring return while he was based out of San Antonio, where his children live. They tried to see each other as often as possible, but ultimately decided it was too difficult to remain together.

WWE Survey Asks Fans About Celebrity Athletes Stepping In The Ring

WWE sent out a Fan Council survey on Friday to gauge interest in various celebrities competing in a WWE ring.

For decades, WWE has utilized mainstream celebrities to generate maximum interest in special shows. Many pro athletes grew up as fans of pro wrestling, with some of them going so far as to compete in WWE matches. How interested would you be in seeing each of these individuals in WWE matches?

  • Rob Gronkowski (NFL)
  • Ronda Rousey (MMA)
  • Marshawn Lynch (NFL)
  • Terry Crews (Actor)
  • Wladamir Klitschko (Boxer)
  • Cris Cyborg (MMA)
  • Miesha Tate (MMA)
  • Danica Patrick (NASCAR)

“Woken” Matt Hardy Has Identified His First Target

According to “Woken” Matt Hardy, a new great war is upon us his first target has been identified.

Matt posted a video on Youtube on Thursday night announcing, “It has begun.” The video, which can be seen here, depicts his father-in-law Señor Benjamin delivering his signature “Broken Matt” jacket, the latest sign that his official metamorphosis is nearly complete.

On Friday, Matt addressed Bray Wyatt, who defeated him on Monday’s RAW and reignited the “white magic” in him. In a message to Wyatt, Matt says,

“In return, it is now my DUTY to DELETE your DEMON.”

First Trailer For HBO’s Andre The Giant Movie

HBO has released the first trailer for André the Giant, a new documentary that examines the life and career of one of wrestling’s most beloved characters.

Produced by HBO Sports, WWE and the Bill Simmons Media Group, the André The Giant doc premieres some time in Spring 2018.

Bill Simmons told Sports Illustrated earlier this year, “Going back to 2007 and 2008 when I was creating and developing 30 for 30 for ESPN, André’s story rode the top of every single sports documentary wish list I ever made. We always hear about unicorns these days—André was the ultimate unicorn. He’s a true legend. Everyone who ever crossed paths with him has an André story—and usually four or five.”

André The Giant is regarded as one of the greatest attractions in the history of professional wrestling. He wrestled for the McMahon family dating back to the early 1970’s and headlined WrestleMania III with Hulk Hogan back in 1987. He was just 46 years old when he passed away in 1993.

Update On Changes Coming to Matt Hardy’s TV Character

Since returning at WrestleMania earlier this year, Matt Hardy has been teasing that the WWE Universe might soon be introduced to his “Broken” alter ego. With brother Jeff out of action until early 2018 due to injury, Matt has been ramping up the references to his ‘primal passenger.’ A new incarnation of ‘Broken’ Matt will emerge in the near future, but with some notable changes.

Sports Illustrated reports that WWE is finally pulling the trigger on a new character for Matt Hardy. The new character will be similar to the one which captured the attention of the entire wrestling world in 2016, but the WWE version will not be labeled “Broken.”

The Hardy family’s legal battle with Impact Wrestling and Anthem is well-documented, with some colorful aspects playing out on social media throughout this year. That dispute may be settled. Ed Nordholm, Anthem’s Executive Vice President, tells Sports Illustrated that the company is laying the groundwork to allow Matt and Jeff Hardy to use aspects of their “IMPACT persons” in WWE.

Nordholm told Justin Barrasso of SI, “We have seen the character development and will be interested to see where they take the concept. Our new talent agreements all incorporate language that allow talent to continue to use their IMPACT persona after they leave the company. We are working with our legal team to amend our existing agreements to extend this to all of our current and former talent.”

This is great news for all involved parties. With the legal dispute over the ‘Broken Universe’  seemingly behind them, Matt can focus on channeling his creativity in a new direction and developing his ‘primal passenger’ for a whole new audience.

CM Punk Meeting With Dana White This Weekend Regarding UFC Future

During a media event to promote this weekend’s UFC 218 pay-per-view from Detroit, Michigan, UFC boss Dana White revealed that he’ll be meeting with CM Punk to discuss his future with the promotion.

“CM Punk is coming to Detroit and wants to talk to me,” White said. “I love the guy. We’ll see what he’s doing.”

Punk’s professional MMA record stands at 0-1 after getting steamrolled by Micky Gall last September at UFC 203. The 39-year-old was choked out just minutes into the first round of his debut fight.

Punk continues to train at the Roufusport MMA Academy in Milwaukee, but there are no guarantees he’ll get the green light to compete in the Octagon again. Of course, if the whole MMA thing doesn’t work out, Punk certainly has some options in the world of pro wrestling that don’t involve working with WWE.

Just a few weeks ago, Punk’s coach Duke Roufus posted the following photo on Instagram, noting that Punk was, “Working hard & getting better every day. Working on his next Fight”

Cody Rhodes Wants To Headline “All In” Event Against Daniel Bryan

Ring of Honor World Champion Cody Rhodes appeared on the Busted Open Radio show on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the news that he and the Young Bucks are planning to host a live pro wrestling event in 2018.

Cody and the Bucks are going “all in” – self-financing a show to be held in a venue that holds 10,000 fans.

During his appearance on Busted Open Radio, Cody revealed that his ideal main event for the event is for him to defend the ROH World Championship against WWE SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan.

Bryan is under WWE contract until next summer at which point he’d be free to wrestle anywhere. He’s been very outspoken about wanting to wrestle, despite WWE refusing to medically clear him to compete.

Sexy Star Shoots On Another Opponent (Video)

Video footage has surfaced from an incident earlier this month that saw Sexy Star going ‘off script’ and attacking yet another opponent in the ring.

One of the most controversial stories of 2017 was Sexy Star shooting on Impact Wrestling performer Rosemary back at AAA’s TripleMania XXV event in August. Click here for our full coverage of that situation.

Earlier this month on November 19th, Sexy Star competed for the MDA Lucha Libre promotion using the ring name Dulce Sexy. She competed against Diosa Quetzal and live reports from fans in attendance state that Sexy Star was working very stiff all match, no-selling offense from her opponent and clearly working with her own agenda.

Footage of Dulce Sexy vs. Diosa Quetzal can be seen below:

The Miz On His Character’s Evolution, Bringing Reality To WWE TV

The Miz appeared on Sam Roberts’ podcast to discuss the Ball famiy’s disastrous appearance on WWE RAW last year, incorporating Marye’s pregnancy into WWE storylines an

Miz on the Lavar Ball Family Not Rehearsing, Using Racial Slur

Miz: This was the first time that Lonzo Ball would be at the Staples Center as a Los Angeles Laker, so I walk in to their dressing room to go over their script, it’s kind of a baseline do you want to go over it and LaVar says ‘we are good,’ so I guess we are going to wing it out there, sounds good

SR: So, when LaVar started coming at you and he takes his shirt off, because it felt in that moment that was not something that was pre-planned.

Miz: No, it was not planned at all and I was like, I will just let him do his thing and people will talk about it months on and I swear to you that is one of the number one questions I get asked is about LaVar Ball. People say they can’t stand him but he knows how to create drama and I applaud him for it, you love to hate him but you will talk about him

SR: How do you react in your own head when that little kid drops the N bomb in the middle of live TV.

Miz: I didn’t hear it, there’s so much going on and I think it was during Dean Ambrose’ music, in the ring sometimes you can’t even hear the person speaking to you, I am really good lip reader a lot of the times.”

Miz on trying to use Maryse’s pregnancy on TV

SR: I’ve always liked it when wrestlers use their personal lives and inject it. Was there any part of you that didn’t want to talk about your unborn child?

Miz: No, I wanted to use it more. I thought it was really cool that we could go in the ring and announce to the world in front of a huge worldwide audience that Maryse is pregnant and I came up with this huge storyline where we are pregnant, how terrible would I be as a guy. But no, Maryse is still doing Total Divas and she is loving it.

SR: Is she in the same camp as you and wants to put it on TV?

Miz: Yeah, she is always onboard with whatever, she thought it was hilarious, obviously WWE is dangerous. As much as we sit there and look at it we always tell people not to do it at home we just said you take it easy we will do Total Divas every Wednesday on E.”

Miz on Wrestlemania with John Cena in 2017, vs 2011

SR: When you talk about experiencing where you are and being an elite athlete, how different was it working with John Cena at this year’s WrestleMania than six years ago?

Miz: So, six years ago I would say, it’s not that I wasn’t ready, but I have so much more confidence than I did then, now. You live and you learn and it’s through the learning process now I know that even when you don’t have a title you have to remain main event level and don’t allow anything to hinder that.

Before I would be like I can get this done, now I am thinking how do I get people to look at me as elite and I think I have been proving myself and making memorable moments watching the show and making the Intercontinental Title the most prestigious it’s ever been. That’s been my goal since winning it, how can I make it how it used to be. When I was growing up the Ultimate Warrior was on the same level as Hulk Hogan who was the World Champion and right now, what singles title do you see every week on Raw, the Intercontinental Championship.
