Former WWE superstar Edge appeared on The Big J Show radio show (KRSQ Hot 101.9) this week to hype his upcoming movie “Bending The Rules” and his induction into the WWE’s Hall of Fame. Here are some highlights of what Edge said about:

Bending The Rules movie: “It stars me and Jamie Kennedy who, like me, is a complete idiot. It was an interesting process. I had done stuff before, but nothing to this extent where I was like one of the stars of the movie. I don’t look at myself as an actor. I never took classes, all my experience came from LIVE WWE. Both aspects are fun, but I gotta say I live is better, but a lot of that is I grew up wanting to be a wrestler.”

Christian Inducting Him: “It’s been a strange year. It’s been a surreal year. This time last year I was preparing to perform on Wrestlemania and not even a year later I am being inducted into the Hall of Fame and all kind of unexpected. The Rock’s Return to WWE:  “Rock is a huge star, he should come back and be a huge star. The guy didn’t HAVE to come back. If you’re good enough, you’re not going to lose a spot. My mentality was if guys came back I don’t care what they do, I know what I’m going to do and I’m going to get on that show. So if you don’t get on the show it’s your own fault.

– During one of the “History Lesson” segments that took place on Monday’s RAW, The Rock made fun of John Cena’s WWE merchandise, including a garden gnome dressed up like Cena. – WWE Champion CM Punk appeared on Boston’s WAAF radio station on Monday to promote RAW. During the interview, Punk revealed that he’s pulling for John Cena to defeat The Rock at WrestleMania. Punk talked about his upcoming WWE DVD set – and said it might not get released in September like WWE wants because he has full control over what content goes on the DVD. – The feeling among most people backstage at RAW in Boston last night was that John Cena once again got the upper hand on The Rock, in terms of who was better on the mic.

Former DX members Shawn Michaels and “Road Dogg” BG James took a picture together backstage at Monday’s WWE RAW Supershow from Boston. Michaels tweeted:

“Mini DX Reunion!! Look who I ran into @WWERoadDogg in the hizzz..”

It’s worth noting that Road Dogg joined DX after Michaels had already left the faction shortly after WrestleMania 14 back – and the two were never active members at the same time.

A Twitter user than asked Michaels “about all that crap” Road Dogg said about him and Triple H during his time in TNA. Michaels replied,

“Yep, got another question?”

– After Monday’s RAW from Boston went off the air, John Cena cut a promo and revealed some very personal information – that that his youngest brother has cancer and is recovering from recent surgery.

Cena said he’s so happy that his brother is doing better that he would drink Jack Daniels and eat some Kung Pow Chicken. Cena’s hometown crowd popped huge for the feel-good moment.

Back in December, John Cena wrote the following on Twitter regarding personal issues he was going through:

“Very difficult month for me,personally. It’s times like these that I see truly how much I love wrestling. I am truly thankful for what I do. Adapt. Overcome. And now, more than ever before Rise Above Hate. I f’n love you guys. Even the ones that hate my guts. U get me thru each day..thick and thin. Thank u. For everything. Thank you.”

– Next week’s RAW from Cleveland, Ohio will feature a face-to-face confrontation between the Undertaker and the man who will referee his Hell in a Cell match against Triple H at WrestleMania, Shawn Michaels.

– The Rock has signed on to star in two more upcoming movies, according to entertainment industry publication Variety.

The Rock will star as Hercules in director Bret Ratner’s upcoming Hercules movie, which begins this production this October in New Zealand.

Rock has also signed on for a movie called Ciudad. Rock will play a black market mercenary who was hired by a Brazilian drug lord to rescue his kidnapped daughter.

– Friday’s episode of WWE Smackdown did a 1.97 cable rating with 2.9 million viewers. This is up from the previous week’s live show on Tuesday, which drew a 1.7 and averaged 2.32 million viewers.

Shawn Michaels will referee Triple H vs. Undertaker at WrestleMania 28

– Shawn Michaels announced on Monday’s RAWe that he will be the special guest referee of the Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania between Triple H and the Undertaker.

– Santino Marella is the new WWE United States champion after defeating Jack Swagger on RAW. John Lauranaitis, who was ringside with David Otugna, tried to overturn the title change, but Teddy Long came out had them removed from the building by security. Santino had an emotional celebration in the ring.

The official Facebook page of the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia has posted the following message:

“Big announcement coming your way tomorrow about the 3/19 WWE RAW show at Wells Fargo Center…a new ad is running during the RAW telecast tonight w/ details, so tune in from 9-11 on USA Network to be the first to know!”

Former WWE superstar Carlito continues to Defend The Rock against other wrestlers who are upset The Rock is getting such a prominent role at WrestleMania.

Last week, Carlito argued that WWE talent should be happy that The Rock is making WrestleMania a success – and questioned if any other WWE stars could sell out a 70,000 person stadium for WrestleMania The Rock.

Carlito later added the following, throwing in a joke about CM Punk:

“Oh, and I meant wrestlers on today’s roster. Of course stone cold with the right angle could sell mania out.”

“Punk sell out mania? He cant even get backstage at madison square garden! Oh snap!….that was just a joke b%*es!”

“The problem with john cena is that he has carried the company on his back for years and now people are sick of him.”

Carlito was later asked by a fan if he could WrestleMania. Carlito said he could, only if it was held in a bingo hall.

Tonight’s WWE RAW Supershow takes place from Boston’s TD Garden and will feature special appearances from WWE legends Shawn Michaels and The Rock.

WWE is promoting that Shawn Michaels will confront Triple H tonight after Triple H claimed that he is better than Shawn ever was The Undertaker had been advertised, but he was removed from ads late last week and is not expected to appear in person.

The USA Network is also promoting that The Rock will confront John Cena tonight in his home town.

As announced by WWE’s Board of Directors, this week’s RAW and SmackDown will see John Laurinaitis and Teddy Long switching their duties, with Long hosting RAW and Laurinaitis hosting SmackDown.

Teddy Long announced on last week’s Smackdown that David Otunga will face The Great Khali tonight.

Zack Ryder tweeted over the weekend that he was headed to Boston, so there’s a chance we’ll see him on RAW tonight as well.

The advertised dark match main event is CM Punk and John Cena vs. Chris Jericho and Kane.

“I always kind of did my own thing, but it got me into trouble a lot, so I started listening to what people were telling me to do to show I was a team player. I got a lot of different advice in the meantime, to be monotonous on the mic and conversational, normal, but I don’t want to do what everybody else does. So when I got on the mic, I’d talk fast, talk slow, make people think. And after a few weeks of following the rules, I was given a chance on the mic and told to sneak a couple of things in there that are really me. I’m finally coming into my own now, and if people don’t like it, yell at me. But there’s a reason I keep getting more and more time, and that’s because I’m good at talking, at showing off. – Sources have confirmed that the current plan is for Drew McIntyre to make his return to SmackDown this week after being fired last week. RAW GM John Lauranaitis is set to be in charge of SmackDown as part of  this week’s GM switch, and he is expected to rehire McIntyre.

There has been talk that McIntyre will be getting a new “playboy” gimmick soon.

– WWE announcer Scott Stanford took a few shots at TNA announcer Jeremy Borash on Twitter over the weekend. When a fan told Stanford, “You’re no Jeremy Borash!”- Stanford replied:

“Thats insulting, hurtful and…wait, who is that?”

After getting some backlash from Borash fans, Stanford later followed up with:

“Im sure Jeremy is better than me in whatever he does.. I dont know who he is or what he does! I know he cant out rap me!!”

“Apparently my not knowing who someone on a tv show has caused a little stir. I dont know who this season’s Bachelor is either!! Whoops”

– WWE has updated the latest “Are You Serious” video, featuring “Road Dogg” BG James and Josh Matthews making fun of wacky WWE clips. In this week’s show, they look at Shawn Michaels’ various wardrobe malfunctions, Marc Mero’s flamboyant Johnny B. Badd gimmick and the infamous Ultimate Warrior – Jake Roberts “Trust Me” storyline.

NFL player Shawne Merriman, a longtime friend of singer Chris Brown,  has gone after WWE Champion CM Punk on Twitter again. Merriman, who plays for the Buffalo Bills, once got made fun of on Twitter after Merriman unsuccessfully tried hooking up with one of the WWE Divas in Costa Rica.

– Alberto Del Rio returned to action Saturday night against Sheamus at the SmackDown live event from Albany, GA. Del Rio has been out of action for months and is said to have looked great in his return match.

– Vickie Guerrero has been campaigning for Tamina Snuka to join her stable. Tamina and Vickie travel together on the road.

– After his recent release from TNA, a number of people in WWE believe Brian Kendrick will be returning to the company later this year for WWE’s planned Cruiseweights show on the WWE network.

Kendrick wrote on his Facebook page this week he asked TNA to release him because they did not have enough work for him. Kendrick told the Lowdown Unlimited show this past week that he has kicked the marijuana habit and is open to working for WWE again.

FCW star Xavier Woods also picked up another win over Curt Hawkins at Saturday night’s RAW live event in Ottawa.

At the Ottowa show, WWE officials have to stop and repair the ring mat after the co-main event of John Cena vs. Kane. The mat got ripped when Kane threw the steel steps into the ring.

– WWE will be releasing a new DVD set on the “Biggest Matches in ECW History.” Amazon.com has the release date listed as June 5th – and the project will feature a countdown of the Top 25 Matches in ECW history.

– WWE’s upcoming DVD set on CM Punk is still in production and content is still being filmed for it.

– John Cena and Zack Ryder are booked to challenge Primo & Epico for the WWE Tag Team Titles on May 11th at WWE’s live event from Glens Falls, New York.

Also on that show, Dolph Ziggler will challenge CM Punk for the WWE championship in a Best of 3 Falls match.

During an interview with the official WWE website, SmackDown star Mark Henry spoke in-depth about his recent induction into the International Sports Hall of Fame. Here are some highlights of what Henry said about:

Winning The Arnold Classic:

“It meant a lot because that competition is geared toward the heaviest instruments in the world. To win that competition truly proves you are the strongest man. You compete against eight guys, the best in the world. There’s no dodging anybody and you lift the heaviest apparatus. It spoke volumes about my talent. I only had four months to train, because I was with WWE. If I had more time to train, I might’ve done even better. It’s hard to better than first, though, you know?”

His Favorite Moment From His Power Lifting Career:

“Being 19 years old and making the Olympic team on my last lift. I went 6-for-6 and had a perfect Olympic trial. Making the team and being one of the youngest to ever go to the Olympics was pretty special.”

WWE Network

WWE is not having an easy time getting its television network off the ground – and a new article published by the New York Post reveals just how much trouble they are having.

According to the Post, WWE has yet to sign with single cable or satellite deal with providers to carry the Network. WWE has also been seriously lagging on hiring experienced cable executives.

WWE was expected to hire 200 employees including a general manager for the Network, but one cable executive told The Post:

“WWE has the programming and marketing muscle, but they just have no one with cable experience who can execute for them.”

Industry expert Gerri Dinini says that whole channel of WWE content might not have a broad enough appeal to be successful:

“Given the content issues, I think a whole channel would be a stretch. It is very limited in who it reaches.”

It has been reported this week that WWE is interested in several Ring of Honor wrestlers (including The Briscoe Brothers and Adam Cole), but was unable to sign these wrestlers because they are under contract with ROH.

ROH officials have stated that they would not prevent their contracted talent from fielding offers from WWE and moving up to the “big leagues” – so this news has received a lot of attention.

Jay Briscoe, one of the men at the center of the story, posted the following message on Twitter on Thursday night, calling the reports false:

“Just to set shit straight, ROH didnt block us from gettin signed to the WWE. The internet is fucking stupid.”
