WWE issued the following statement tonight regarding The Rock’s return to RAW on November 14th. This 3-hour RAW will take place from Boston’s TD Garden and will be the final show before Survivor Series that weekend:

Finally, The Rock(R) Returns to Boston

STAMFORD, Conn., Oct 11, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) — WWE(R) announced today that “the most electrifying man in entertainment,” The Rock, will return to the city of Boston at the TD Garden on Monday, November 14 for a special three hour Raw(R) SuperShow that will air live on USA Network at 8 PM ET/7 PM CT.

What will happen when “The People’s Champion” The Rock and John Cena(R) meet in Cena’s hometown in their first face-to-face encounter since the spring? Ever since the announcement of the epic main event of Rock vs. Cena at WrestleMania(R) XXVIII on April 1, 2012, the two Superstars have engaged in a war of words. Can these two Superstars get along six days before they team up at Survivor Series(R)?

Tickets for the special Raw SuperShow are available at the TD Garden Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com , or by calling 1-800-745-3000. The live event portion of the show has a special start time of 7:15 PM.

  • Ratings Are In For Monday’s RAW Supershow

The ratings are in for Monday’s RAW – and the numbers tell a story of fans being dissatisfied with WWE’s “walk out” storyline.

Monday’s RAW drew a 3.26 rating and averaged 5,021,000 viewers for the two hour broadcast. While this is up from recent weeks, the hourly ratings are cause for concern.

The first hour of RAW drew a strong 3.49 rating with 5,375,000 viewers, a sign that WWE fans were very interested to see the fallout from last week’s “walk out.”

The second hour took a nosedive, as the rating dropped to a 3.02 with 4,667,000 viewers – a loss of approximately 13.5% of the audience.

The first hour of RAW featured very little in-ring action, the surprise return of Vince McMahon, the firing of Triple H and John Laurinaitis being named as the new interim RAW General Manager. WWE created a buzz last week and built up a lot of interest in Monday’s RAW – but the overall feedback on what WWE delivered has been overwhelmingly negative and Monday’s rating reflects this.

  • Video Trailer For BROCK LESNAR In WWE ’12

It’s official – the only man in history to hold both the WWE and UFC Heavyweight titles – Brock Lesnar –  has been confirmed as a playable character in the new WWE ’12 video game.

According to our sources, THQ approached Lesnar in January and asked for permission to use his name and likeness in the game and advertising campaign. Lesnar was said to be ecstatic over the idea, but wouldn’t agree to terms unless he received permission from UFC president Dana White. The outspoken mixed martial arts promoter gave Lesnar his blessing – and WWE ’12 is shaping up to be a game like none other.

White told TMZ.com this week, “I love WWE and I have nothing but love for Vince McMahon — I’m totally okay with Brock being in the game.”

Here is the OFFICIAL video trailer for Brock Lesnar in WWE ’12:

  • Backstage News On Jim Ross’ Firing From RAW

The firing of Jim Ross by John Laurinaitis on last night’s RAW Supershow was not in the final script and most people backstage had no idea that it was going to happen.

It’s also believed Ross didn’t know about the angle either. It was noted that JR’s wife could be seen at ringside, looking excited as he entered the ring for the segment.

Ross told a fan on Twitter today that it was embarrassing for his wife and that they both were “blindsided.”

Regarding last night’s show, it’s said that what ended up airing was almost nowhere near what was originally wrote. Everything on last night’s show was re-written more than once.

  • Kurt Angle Talks Roode, Hogan-Sting, Olympics, TNA

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle spoke to New Zealand’s NZPWI.co.nz over the weekend to promote Sunday’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view.

His Opponent This Sunday, Bobby Roode:

“You know what? I have had 5 star matches my whole career, and what I see in Bobby Roode is a talent that can go as far as he wants to go. I’m talking about Shawn Michaels. I’m talking about Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Triple H. Bobby has something about him that could make him a huge superstar. Now, at Bound For Glory, that doesn’t mean he’s going to win. I can guarantee the match won’t be short. And I can guarantee that it will be very competitive.”

Sting vs. Hulk Hogan and The Main Event of Bound For Glory:

“Hulk Hogan’s wrestled Sting so many times already. It’ll help the pay-per-view, but fans are more interested in what’s going to happen between Kurt Angle and Bobby Roode. I hope that we go on last, because it won’t be good for them if they have to follow us. Kurt Angle and Bobby Roode will be putting on a hell of a performance.”

    Training for the Olympics:

“Honey, listen. I’m trying out for the Olympics next year. The pressure is nothing compared to trying out for the Olympic team at 43 years of age. I’ve lost 30 pounds. I’ve gone from 245lb down to 215lb. A lot of people will say I look smaller than the referee, which is kind of degrading, but it’s funny too. I am in the best shape of my life. Thank God TNA gave me a lot of time off to train. I have been home for three weeks now, training solely for the Olympics. I’ll be at my best when the Olympic trials come around. I feel good. I’m healthy, there’s nothing that’s going to hold me back. I know there’s one guy in my weight class that I have to beat – the #1 guy – his name is Jake Varner, he’s a world silver medallist. But I’m very serious about making the Olympic team. I love professional wrestling, I love TNA, but I’ve always wanted to do something that no-one’s ever done, and to win an Olympic medal at the age of 43 is far beyond anything anyone’s done before.”

    His Future & TNA Talent:

“The best development is that we’ve got a lot of our own homegrown talent. The worst is that we’re not growing them fast enough, or pushing them hard enough. You’ve got Samoa Joe. He had been undefeated. I walked in and beat him on my first match. I didn’t like that. Then I had AJ Styles, and he went to main event status. Then they backed off from him. Then we’ve got Beer Money – James Storm and Robert Roode deserve to be main event status. We have Crimson and Amazing Red – we have all this talent, that’s never been touched. We need to elevate that talent. And you know who can do it? Me. And the other older talent. I’m not going to lie to you – I’m only going to be wrestling for 3 more years. Then I’m retiring. My job is to get this young talent to replace Kurt Angle.

“I’m going to be with TNA forever. I won’t be wrestling, but I will be there. I will be involved in the creative direction, training and development. And I want TNA to understand that we have a lot of homegrown talent that I think is better than the talent over in WWE. So why aren’t we using these guys, when they’re that good? The older guys – Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Jeff Jarrett, Sting, Kurt Angle – the list goes on. Guys in their 40’s, 50’s and 60s. It’s time to let the younger talent shine through. If we do that, then we’re a new company. We’ll get higher ratings, and we can compete with the monster, WWE.”

  • RAW Preview: Solidarity Rally, Major Brawl Teased

Tonight’s WWE RAW Supershow emanates from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Following last week’s “No Confidence” vote and the walkout that concluded the show, a “solidarity rally” is planned for tonight, with the disgruntled Superstars that will take place in the parking lot of the arena for tonight’s show.

Several WWE superstars tweeted over the weekend that they will be protesting at tonight’s RAW and will not return to work until Triple H is removed from power. The Chesapeake Energy Arena website lists the following preview for tonight’s RAW:

“Triple H vows to absolutely not step down from running Monday Night RAW. Furthermore, Triple H vows that John Cena, CM Punk, Randy Orton, Sheamus and the Big Show will headline Monday night’s event. However, 55 of the WWE Superstars who walked out last week have vowed not to return until Triple H is removed from power.”

The WWE website has been teasing that a brawl will take place at the “solidarity rally” tonight – with Cena, Punk, Orton, Sheamus and Big Show ready to confront the 55 superstars who walked out last week.

And of course, with RAW taking place from WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross’ home state of Oklahoma, don’t be surprised to see JR attacked or embarrassed in some way tonight.

  • JBL Talks About Whether He’ll Ever Return To WWE

    — Former WWE superstar John Bradshaw Layfield has posted a new discussion on his Facebook page answering the question he says he’s asked most on Facebook and Twitter – whether he’ll ever return to WWE. To read his full blog update, click here.

Here’s what he said about a WWE return:

“Will I return to WWE? I doubt it, but you never know. I am not looking for a job and they are not asking me to return so it has not come up. I had to retire due to injuries, and yes, the 23 second match with Rey at Wrestlemania was my idea-at that point in my career due to injuries I could not have had any type of real match.

“I was so hurt at that point that I literally couldn’t walk anywhere of distance and didn’t have the ability to work out. I hated being out of shape and realized I was tired of smoke and mirrors to hide my inadequacies-I didn’t want to be one of those old guys who had held on too long and I was in danger of becoming exactly that.

“It’s taken over two full years but I am currently in the best health, and shape, I have been in over a decade.”

JBL said he is currently training for the New York Marathon in November and then plans to climb the tallest volcano in the world (in Ecuador) in February.

He ended the piece by saying, “Bottom line-I am not looking for a job and WWE is not looking to offer me one. I hope this answers the question I am asked most frequently.”
