The match ended in a DQ when The Miz and R-Truth ran out to interfere. Cena, Punk and Bret teamed up to clean house. The big finish came when Bret Hart put the Sharpshooter on Miz, which the crowd went nuts for.

Backstage, the WWE website filmed footage of John Laurinaitis talking to WWE’s sound technicians to find out who was cutting off CM Punk’s microphone during the final segment of RAW. Laurinaitis did not find out who was responsible, but received a phone call while backstage and assured the person who was calling him that he was on top of it.  UPDATE: The video has been deleted, we’ll post the link again if it gets put back up.

  • Mick Foley Thinks He’ll Be Working For WWE Soon & Talks TNA

Wrestling legend Mick Foley was recently interviewed by Josh Stewart of AsTheWorldTurnsLeft.com spoke about his Here are some highlights of what Foley said about:

    Whether TNA Is Really Profitable:

“I was never close enough to know anything more than you guys in the media would know. I do think they had a really profitable year in 2009, and then I heard they may have overspent. But Bob Carter said something very prophetic to Dusty Rhodes when I asked Dusty about the status of the company. He said, ‘Until I close the doors, it’s not a loss, it’s an investment.’ So, I’m glad they’re around, I really wish them the very best, it was a very good place for me to go for a few years. I didn’t see eye-to-eye with them on a lot of things, but I certainly enjoyed most of my time there.”

    His Main Complaint With TNA:

“My main criticism of theirs is one that I had all along and that I expressed freely with the company, that they tried to pack too many things in every show. And at the end of the show it’s really hard for fans to see anything as really important.”

When He’ll Be Working With WWE Again:

“I’m almost sure that we’ll be working in some respect fairly soon. It’s a really good company with a really large infrastructure that offers ways for guys like me to help out that aren’t related to helping out on the TV shows.”

What His Role In WWE Will Be:

“There could be several roles. I have to do some thinking about how involved I want to get, how many days away I want to spend and whether I want my involvement to be completely off-screen. But I’m excited about working with WWE in the near future.”

There’s much more to the interview, including video from one of Mick Foley’s recent stand-up comedy routines, which you can check out at AsTheWorldTurnsLeft.com.

  • Picture: Keibler & Clooney Spotted Together This Weekend

    Credit: Macca/Todd G/Splash News

It’s been rumored for weeks that former WWE diva Stacy Keibler has been romantically linked to Hollywood megastar George Clooney – and the duo made their first public appearances together this past weekend in Toronto, Onario, Canada.

According to Yahoo! News and Us Weekly magazine, Keibler and Clooney attended Fox Searchlight and Vanity Fair’s Toronto Film Festival party and then later the Grey Goose Soho House party.

According to a source at US Weekly, Stacy Keibler looked very comfortable alongside Clooney and handled herself well in the spotlight.

“One of the reoccurring themes of the night was that Stacy had her own conversations going on and that she wasn’t following Clooney around like a puppy dog,” a source told Us Weekly.

“They were comfortable and affectionate and seemed socially poised as a couple,” a witness tells Us. “The two clearly work not only as a pair, but also independently. [Stacy] really stood on her own. George was not overprotective and didn’t have to look after her.”

“She was confident in her own space,” adds the witness. “She would come over to [George] and rub his back, then separate from him again… I’ve never seen him more comfortable.”

  • CM Punk Says He Wants To Piss People Off

CM Punk spoke with The Toronto Sun over the weekend to promote tonight’s WWE RAW Supershow from Ottowa. Here are some highlights about what Punk said about:

    What People Think Of Him:

“There are some people who think CM Punk would have been a mid-carder in the Attitude Era. They have this predetermined assessment of me. I don’t know if it’s jealousy. I don’t have six-pack abs and I can’t benchpress 400 pounds. I can’t believe I have to step over people to get their attention. They have an antiquated way of seeing things. I’m trying to save this business.”

    His Microphone Work:

“When I talk, my design is to piss somebody off. I’m not just saying, ‘you’re bald,’ or ‘you’re ugly.’ Doing this is ingrained in my DNA. It’s 100% mine, all me. Half of the stuff I know off the top of my head, the other half I come up with when I’m out there. The best stuff is always the kneejerk reaction. It helps when you get somebody great to work with. I don’t know if it’s something you can teach. (As a kid) I didn’t walk around with a pretend plastic microphone, but I was never afraid of talking back. I used to get the crap beat out of me. But people would tire out from punching me in the face before I would stop talking back.”

What’s left for him to do WWE?

“I’m running out of goals. No. 1 with a bullet would be main eventing Wrestlemania. Winning a Royal Rumble would be a feather in my cap. And I’ve never won the U.S. title, so look out Dolph Ziggler.”

  • Triple H Talks About His Critics, WWE’s Product, Hall of Fame

In a new interview with Chris Yandek of CYInterview.com, Triple H responds to his wrestling critics who believe he has received preferential treatment and greater opportunities on WWE TV, because he is married to Vince McMahon’s daughter, Stephanie. There have been claims that he held wrestlers down, keeping them from achieving more success in the WWE and receiving more opportunities to shine on the company’s television programs. Now working in creative and behind the scenes, he responds to the question if believes working in talent development is his chance to show he wants to see other guys get over.

“I know what I accomplished in this business. I know why I accomplished it. I don’t. Critics and what people say about this or that or my marriage [to Stephanie McMahon] or any of that stuff is crap. It’s mostly started by people that are either jealous or angry that they failed where other people succeeded. I mean, that’s a common, I was told it when I started in the business.

It’s a common saying in this business, you can make friends or you can make money. You can have buddies or you can get over. Which one do you want? You know, and they don’t come together. And I think, I don’t, I never look at it that way. I don’t have anything to prove to anybody. I’ll put my body of work up against anybody in the business. I’ll put my drawing power up against anybody in the business. That’s irrelevant. It’s people’s opinions”

Triple H follows up by stating what he believes the WWE Product lacks today with the newer wrestlers in the company. He explains what these guys need to be successful.

“We’re a victim of our own success. There’s no place for guys to go and figure out how to do this. We have to teach them kind of and get them up to speed to speak. Even when you get guys off the independent scene, they are very much independent wrestlers and then the independent scene will, so these guys are the greatest guys in the world and you bring them up and they flounder on the big stage. They can’t. They can’t. It’s a completely different animal and a completely different world and you have to, it’s relearning and re-teaching. That’s the biggest, I think, struggle we have is getting these guys there.

But listen, at the end of the day, you just have to find guys with the right charisma and they have to be the ones to put that charisma out there. Nobody told The Rock how to be The Rock…Work rate is important, guy’s skill in the ring is important, but at the end of the day it’s about charisma. It’s the ability to draw fans to arenas and the guy that draws the most fans to the arena for whatever reason, positive or negative, he’s the top guy.”

He does believe the WWE product could be bigger than the 7.0 ratings that were put up during the WWE Attitude Era:

“Do I think it can ever get that big again? History can repeat. I say without a doubt. I think it can be even bigger…What tomorrow brings, no one knows.”

Finally, Hunter talks about winning the majority of vintage wrestling auctions from his mentor “Killer” Kowalski. He says they are working on a real WWE Hall of Fame for people to see all the historic wrestling items.

“I think I was gone on the road for SummerSlam, but I had somebody at the office bid online and I got I think like 99 percent of everything wrestling-wise, which I’m glad I did. I just didn’t want that to go to somebody that just hid it away somewhere. I wanted the world to be able to see how great he really was. And do I think they’ll ever be a hall of fame? Yes. I think they’ll be a physical hall of fame. That’s something we’re working on. It’s definitely in the works. It’s just a matter of when, where. Is it a traveling hall of fame? Is it a permanent place? There’s a lot of questions and thoughts on it and we’re in the process of collecting things to put in there. But the Kowalski stuff for me was as much a legend in this business was also a very personal thing for me.”
