  • Ric Flair & Girlfriend Jackie Get Married (PICTURES)

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is getting ready to walk that aisle once again – the aisle that leads straight to the alter.

The recently unretired legend is getting married once again this afternoon in Charlotte, North Carolina to his fiance, Jackie Beems. It will be Flair’s fourth time getting married.

Ric Flair and Jackie Beems have been an item for several months and made several public appearances together, including the Los Angeles premiere of the film “The Wrestler” as well as various signing appearances. They big party last night in Charlotte to celebrate the occasion.

Flair will be bringing his new bride to Australia with him later this month for the “Hulkamania: Let the Battle Begin” tour, where he’ll wrestle against Hulk Hogan in his first matches since retiring at WrestleMania 24.

With three ex-wives and a lot of alimony money going out the door each month, you’ve gotta admire the guy’s to find the right lady. Best of luck to Ric & Jackie!

  • TNA Talent Unhappy, Nash Contest Dropped, ODB’s New Deal

    — As seen last week on iMPACT!, TNA President Dixie Carter essentially said during her speech at the top of the hour that anyone who wasn’t on board with her recent changes to the organization should find work elsewhere. As it turns out, five wrestlers had asked for their releases from the company in recent weeks, including Frankie Kazarian (a.k.a. Suicide) and Homicide — we don’t have the names of the three other wrestlers. All five were turned down. (VIDEO: Dixie Carter’s Speech)

    — TNA has dropped Kevin Nash’s search for his first-ever female valet, the Big Sexy World Tour. The winner would have received an all-expenses-paid trip to next month’s Final Resolution pay-per-view in Orlando and accompanied Nash to the ring for his match that night.

    — As reported earlier, reigning TNA Women’s Knockout Champion ODB recently inked a multi-year deal with the organization. Her contract renewal with the organization actually came as a surprise to friends as she had been discussing jumping to World Wrestling Entertainment when her previous contract expired in mid-November. She had been telling people the past two months that she didn’t think management even realized her contract was coming due because no one had mentioned it to her.

  • RAW Rating Is Lowest Of 2009 – Disturbing Trend Continues

Monday’s WWE Raw scored a 3.1 rating with only 4.25 million viewers – way down from last week’s 3.5 (despite the fact that last week’s show went up against the World Series). The show was taped on Monday afternoon from Sheffield, England and was hosted by boxer Ricky Hatton.

Some troubling facts regarding this week’s rating:

    • 4.25 million viewers makes this week’s show the lowest rated edition of WWE Raw of 2009.
    • The first hour drew a 3.2 with 4,433,000 viewers and the second hour did a 3.0 rating with 4,064,000 viewers. WWE Raw has lost viewers in the second hour 5 out of the past 6 weeks.
    • Overall viewership was down over 14% when compared to what the show was averaging over the past 5 weeks.

Yeah the show was taped, yeah the rating for the NFL’s Monday Night Football was up a bit this week, but this is ugly news for WWE any way you look at it. The company has zero momentum heading into Survivor Series and WWE’s latest attempt at elevating young talent is not giving Raw the spark it needs.

  • Stacy Keibler Offered To Host WWE Raw But Never Heard Back

Stacy Keibler recently spoke to Kevin Eck of the Baltimore Sun and was asked whether she’d be the special guest host of WWE Raw when the show comes to her hometown of Baltimore, MD on 11/30.

The former WWE Diva said she reached out to WWE about hosting, but never heard back. “No one has contacted me. I actually had my management contact them, and nobody ever got back to us [laughs]. So I guess they’re not interested,” she said.

Keibler recently won a contest to determine Baltimore, Maryland’s biggest celebrity – beating out baseball great Cal Ripken, Jr. and Olympic hero Michael Phelps.

Keibler was also asked about whether she’s heard anything from TNA Wrestling about working for them. “[TNA] hasn’t [contacted me], but Mick and I talk regularly,” she said. “They haven’t contacted me to do anything, plus I still have my deal with ABC, so I wouldn’t be able to do anything like that.”

  • JR Blog: Lack Of Survivor Series Hype, Too Many PPVs

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. In this entry, Ross questions whether WWE has done a sufficient job hyping the Survivor Series WWE title match and shares his thoughts on whether WWE holds pay-per-view events too often.

Survivor Series Hype: RAW from Sheffield was an interesting show. I honestly expected more hype for Survivor Series but what I heard was not offensive or overkill and seemed to work. I kept waiting on some issues to pop up between Cena, HHH, and HBK as they prepare for their Triple Threat Match for the WWE Title at Survivor Series. By it not happening, it leads me to believe that something could be up someone’s sleeve come this Monday from Madison Square Garden. Or not. The question is, when will the proverbial shoe drop? Or will it?

Too Many PPV Events? “Monthly PPV’s in wrestling are dependent on one key element, long term creative planning. I like the fact that themed events are being utilized, also. However, too many specialty bouts can start to run together and lose their identity. Great PPV revenue is generated by “stars” being engaged in personal issues. Two guys or four guys inside a cage doesn’t guarantee success simply because it’s a cage match. If one sees only a handful of cage matches a year that’s one thing but if they become a regular diet then the novelty of the cage looses its effectiveness. Adding new talents into the mix is also marketable as fans are curious as to how the younger guys will do in an elevated environment. PPV’s are essential to the overall success of the business and will be constantly re-evaluated and strategized as time goes on.

  • Undertaker’s WM26 Opponent, Future Raw Guest Host

    – There has been some preliminary talk about having the Undertaker wrestle Chris Jericho at WrestleMania. Original plans were for Undertaker to wrestle Vince McMahon and Chris Jericho to wrestle Edge, but with Edge’s health status up in the air, Undertaker-Jericho is now being considered.

    – Business man Marc Cuban is rumored to be hosting WWE Raw on December 7th from Dallas, TX.

    – Cryme Tyme vs. The Hart Dynasty is slated to be a dark match at WWE’s Survivor Series PPV, according to Wrestling Observer.

    – The three-hour RAW the night after WWE’s Survivor Series pay-per-view at the Giant Center in Hershey, PA has an advertised main event of DX and John Cena vs. Randy Orton, Chris Jericho and Big Show. This will likely be a dark match.

  • Assault & Harassment Charges Against Kurt Angle Dropped

    Source: ThePittsburgchannel.com

All remaining charges against Kurt Angle were dismissed today after a Pennsylvania judge dismissed the charges of assault and harassment stemming from an alleged incident on August 6 involving Angle’s ex-girlfriend Trenesha Biggers.

The assault and harassment charges against Kurt Angle were dropped today by judge Mary Murray due to Angle’s ex-girlfriend continuing to stay at his house for nine days after the alleged incident took place. Both parties signed a document acknowledging an incident took place.

The judge reportedly dismissed the charges without enough evidence that bruises and scratches were brought on her by Angle. “She’s a professional wrestler. She left the state, went to Florida for a period of time. We don’t know how she got those bruises, but we can tell you, they were not at the hands of my client,” said Michelle Santicola, Angle’s lawyer.

Angle broke down crying when the charges were dropped.  “I’ve never hit a woman and never would,” Angle told reporters. “I was brought up by my mother that way, and I had to go through this.”

Biggers claims Angle abused her “a few times” and she feared for her life.  “The first few times that it happened, I believed that, ‘Maybe this won’t happen any more.’ But at this point in time, I was like, the next time that this happens, I could die.” Biggers said. She added that she felt “terrified” of Angle when they were living together in Angle’s home outside of Pittsburgh.

  • Ultimate Warrior Considered For 2010 WWE Hall Of Fame

The Ultimate Warrior is being considered for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2010, according to the latest issue of the Figure Four Newsletter. The rocky relationship between Warrior and Vince McMahon is said to be in better shape than its been in many years and there’s a “strong possibility” we’ll see WWE extend the offer.

There are a number of factors that contributing to Warrior Hall of Fame buzz. Warrior lives in Phoenix, Arizona – the site of WrestleMania XXVI. WrestleMania XXVI will be the 20th anniversary of Warrior’s epic victory over Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VI and it’s no secret that Hulk Hogan’s not on the best terms with Vince McMahon these days. A lawsuit Warrior filed against WWE years ago was recently settled and many have noticed that Warrior has been featured on WWE.com quite frequently in recent months.

The UK Sun has picked up on the story and posted some quotes from an interview they conducted with Warrior back in 2004. Warrior had some harsh words for Vince McMahon at the time, saying that whenever a WWE superstar comes back to Vince, he uses them and totally eats them up.  “That’s the way he operates, and there’s just no way I can go back to the WWE,” Warrior told the Sun. “Especially with the creative direction of cultural degeneration they’ve been on in the last five or six years. It’s not an easy thing for me to say that I’ll never go back — because I do miss the money, success and thrill of the business — but that’s the truth.”

Update: WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross said the following about the Warrior-Hall of Fame talk in his latest JRsBarBQ.com blog:

“The WWE Hall of Fame class for 2010 seems to be garnering more interest as our email flow gets stronger. Lots of speculation that the “Ultimate Warrior” will be inducted this year. I have no clue but the fact that “Warrior” lives in Phoenix, the site of WM26, being a significant reason as to why makes zero sense to me. Either the man deserves to be introduced or he doesn’t no matter his zip code. I personally feel the former Blade Runner is deserving and just because the guy is considered “controversial” should not exclude him from any accolade. Warrior’s accomplishments and contributions to the business are what counts and hearing Warrior’s acceptance speech live and in person would be classic and likely a “Wrestlemania Moment.”

  • UFC’s Dana White Says Brock Lesnar Would Smash Fedor

UFC president Dana White tells the LA Times that last weekend’s Strikeforce event on CBS was headlined by to fighters who would both get wrecked by UFC’s top heavyweights.

White once again says UFC’s heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar would “smash” Strikeforce’s Fedor Emelianenko:

“CBS would be out of their mind to put that rinky-dink [Strikeforce] . . . on the air again … and without that backing, [promoters] won’t have the money to pay [Emelianenko]. The guy just got his face smashed in by Brett Rogers. Do you know what Brock or [UFC heavyweights] Frank Mir and Cain Velasquez would do to Brett Rogers? It’s time to bring [Fedor] in, to see Brock Lesnar smash his head.”

  • Rey Mysterio Reveals He Went To Drug Rehab Last Year

In a revelation that will be considered shocking to many and “not so much” to others, Rey Mysterio reveals in his newly released autobiography, Rey Mysterio: Behind the Mask, that he checked himself into a drug rehabilitation facility last year as a result of a persistent issue with prescription pain medication

According to the book, Mysterio’s issues with pain killers became an issue again last year after dealing with a nagging biceps injury. Mysterio suffered a biceps injury during an overseas tour in February 2008 and underwent three surgeries within the space of a month to correct the problem.

Mysterio was suspended from World Wrestling Entertainment for 30 days this summer after violating the company’s Wellness policy.

  • Jamie Noble Announces His Retirement From WWE

On Monday, we reported that WWE.com had posted an article saying that Raw superstar Jamie Noble was considering retirement following the brutal attack he sustained at the hands of Sheamus last week on Raw. “Luckily, the doctors tell me I’m going to recover again,” Noble told WWE.com earlier this week. “But I’m laying here thinkin’ about how great my life is with my wife and my son. I’m thinkin’, how many more times am I gonna be lucky enough to walk out of the hospital on my own? I’m thinkin’ it might be time to hang up my tights and boots.”

That article has since been taken down and replaced with a new one (which you can read here) announcing that Noble contacted WWE to reveal his decision to conclude his seven-year career as a WWE Superstar and retire from the squared circle. Noble made the “regrettable announcement” shortly after being released from the medical facility where he’s been receiving treatment following the Sheamus attack.

At this point, there’s no word on whether the retirement is legit or part of a storyline to build up Sheamus.
