– On Wednesday, Sin Cara, Kalisto, The Usos, Cameron and Eva Marie paid a visit to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and Ronald McDonald House at Stanford. This drew a complementary Tweet from Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon:

– Eva Marie appeared at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California last week for a Susan G. Komen event where she talked about the importance of breast cancer awareness in this video interview.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon Show Their Support For Wrestling Parody Film

This morning, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon publicly reacted to “Wrestling Isn’t Wrestling,” a 24-minute “somewhat-mostly-accurate educational” parody film on Triple H by screenwriter and director Max Landis.

Landis was elated to receive their approval on the film. He posted the following in the “SquaredCircle” section on Reddit: “Triple H AND Stephanie tweeted me.

“I mean I’d been told something was coming but I never imagined they’d do it publicly. It’s a bizarre feeling, I have no real idea how to react.

“I’m not quite marking I’m just stunned. I’m too shocked to mark. I feel really happy but also just sort of dazed.

“When you make a tribute to someone’s art and they respond directly, it’s a bizarre, almost invasive feeling. I’m left feeling almost kind of exposed, you know? “I made a twenty minute short film about you.” “Yes, thank you, it’s awesome.” “WHAT YOU SAW IT WHAT THE FUCK NO THAT WAS MY PRIVATE TWENTY MINUTE SHORT FILM ABOUT YOU”

“Mind boggling.

“Thanks everyone on r/squaredcircle for helping it get out there, by the way. I decided to make the short after my r/squaredcircle thread asking if I should got such a positive response, so it’s really homegrown in that way.”

Landis clarified that the film is about the Triple H character, and not Paul Levesque.

“It’s about the character. He IS one of the all time greats. But what “greatness” means in wrestling isn’t…you know, what you think it means,” he wrote.

Daniel Bryan Talks Whether He Will Team Up With Brie Bella, Lilian Garcia Speaks Out, AJ & Paige Poll

– Daniel Bryan reveals in an interview with Fighting Spirit Magazine that WWE’s creative department would prefer that fans forgot about his marriage to Brie Bella.

When asked whether WWE has plans for them to team up inside the ring, he said, “I would love that, but WWE has gotten away from doing the mixed tag team matches. Doing something with Brie would be a lot of fun, and I think the fans would really enjoy it, but our characters right now are at different places. I’ve heard that creative wants people to forget that we’re actually married.”

With Bryan’s marriage to Brie often showcased on Total Divas, he believes his recurring appearances on the E! reality program have helped his career.

“I know for a fact that Total Divas has helped me in a way that I get recognized more by people who would never recognize me before. Now, like, people will recognize me when I’m out to dinner or something. They’ll be like, “Hey, you’re Bryan!” And that’s how I know they recognize from Total Divas. People who watch Total Divas don’t necessarily watch WWE, but now they’re starting to. People get to see me for who I am. Some fans don’t like that, and will actually boo for how I appear on Total Divas!”

– Lilian Garcia appeared at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California last week for a Susan G. Komen event where she talked about the importance of breast cancer awareness in this video interview.

Meanwhile, Lilian Garcia has been promoting the release of her new single, “Stung,” which is available for free. WWE Teasing Hall Of Fame Announcement For Monday, Hulk Hogan Talks Kevin Owens, Injuries & More

– Hulk Hogan participated in a Q&A session today on Facebook from South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. Highlights are as follows:

Did you get injuries for your career? which is the most serious one?

“it has to be around about 80 injuries…the back had to be one of the worst.”

What was more fun? Being the all american hero with the (then) wwf? Or one of the best heels ever with the nwo and wcw?

“There was nothing like the 80s. That red and yellow. #Hulkamania running wild was unbelievable.”

What has been the best WWE experience of your life?

“Has to be when I came back home. It was when I was in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The audience was electric it felt like 100 jet planes. So loud HH.”

Besides travel and wear and tear on your body, what would you say has been the hardest part of being a professional wrestler?

“The hardest thing is taking everything in your life and making that second. Work has to be first.”

Are you a fan of NXT, and if so, who impresses you most down there?

“In a huge fan of NXT. Kevin Owens is the guy right now who made me believe again. When Kevin came in and stepped up, it made me say WOW. HH.”

– According to WWE.com, the next inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2015 is expected to be named on Monday.

“The gossip going around WWE is that a former World Champion will be taking his place in sports-entertainment immortality,” WWE states. “Who will be joining “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rikishi, The Bushwhackers, Alundra Blayze and Warrior Award recipient Connor Michalek in the Hall’s Class of 2015 on the eve of WrestleMania 31? Could it be a former WWE World Heavyweight Champion from the company’s early years? Is it an Attitude Era icon? Is it even a WWE competitor, or will it be a WCW or ECW icon joining the Hall?”

Roman Reigns Talks Critics, Whether He Deserves His Spot In WWE, Scripted Promos, WrestleMania

Roman Reigns called into Elvis Duran and the Morning Show’s The Josh Podcast and discussed his WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match at Wrestlemania 31, his critics, scripted promos, keeping ‘The Shield’s’ entrance and more.

On the WWE Championship going on last at WrestleMania:

“I haven’t talked much about that. My assumption is the championship match should always be last, that’s what we’re fighting for, that’s the biggest prize, as awesome as rivalries are. The WWE Championship, if you have that around your waist you are the man, you are on top of the mountain, you’re receiving the biggest paychecks, you’re going to have the best life, you’re going to create the best future for you and your family. So for me, I think the ultimate prize being the WWE Championship, it should always be on last, not just cause I’m fighting for it.”

On butting heads with hardcore fans:

“I don’t think I’m head butting with them, I feel like they are head butting me. I don’t do anything but go out there and bust my ass every single week…Even when I was with the Shield, I’ve always had the critics and I think a lot of it goes with the background of me not having that independent experience, especially being paired up with guys like Seth and Dean because those guys are journeymen. The things they had to do are second to none.”

On “deserving” his spot:

“We have a very strong hardcore fan base and they go in a bit deeper than just what the storyline is. One thing that kind of confuses me is that it is a performance, it is a show, there is a storyline. When people start doing the “He deserves this, He deserves that”, really did Brad Pitt deserved to be Achilles in Troy? It’s a weird world that we live in; it’s very real but very scripted at the same time. It’s a fine line and in my opinion that’s what makes it so neat.”

On scripted promos handcuffing talent:

“I don’t think handcuffing is the right term. I look at it as a challenge. Obviously as a performer, I would love to go out there and go off of impulse, just go off into the arena and feel what’s going, but it is a show, it is a performance, and there is a lot that goes into this machine… For me, I know for a fact I haven’t told my full story. There is still so much more about me that I want to show the world.”

On keeping The Shield’s stairway entrance:

“The entrance itself it’s just such a unique thing, somebody had to keep that because it’s part of the show now and I get Tweets and all kinds of social media stuff, “what area are you coming down.” People want those seats now. It’s upped the value of that seating almost to where it’s like a front row situation. Those fans that are on that stairwell that I’m coming down are right on top of me, you get to see me, you can smell me, and people are touching me. You get a very good feel of what I’m like up close and personal. I think that was one thing WWE wanted to do was keep that moment for the crowd.”

Former Ring Announcer Justin Roberts Upset With WWE, The Undertaker Featured In WWE Top 10

– Former WWE ring announcer Justin Roberts is upset with his former employer having his demo reel removed from YouTube. This was due to the video featuring copyrighted WWE footage, which the company gave him permission to use.

“At the end of my 12 year relationship, there were a lot of things about work that made it hard to want to get on those planes. But on the night that we didn’t renew my contract- I left the building and they told me the door was always open. I chose to walk the opposite direction and move on. I left out the negativity in my heart and wrote a positive goodbye and was on my way into the next chapter,” Roberts wrote on Instagram.

“The company sent me footage and I put together a reel featuring much of that footage since that’s where I was, almost daily for over a decade. My reel was out there and maybe I’d go where the wind blew, but today they pulled that reel off of YouTube. Despite countless hours of their copyrighted YouTube footage uploaded by others, my 5 min reel of my work is pulled. Maybe their legal department isn’t busy enough?”

The video has since been restored.

– In this week’s “WWE Top 10” video, The Undertaker’s “Ghastliest Mind Games” are counted down.

– The official WWE website has issued a poll asking fans which movie franchise The Rock should save besides “Dredd.”

“So what’s the hold up?” Cena asks. “Are you gonna leave or are you gonna stay?”

“So I had some productive meetings in Los Angeles,” she informs him. “There are some really great opportunities out there and I’ve always loved to do acting and I think it’d be amazing to be part of a TV show, of course. I guess I’m talking confusing ’cause I feel confused.”

“I love WWE but I think you and your sister are destined for success outside of the WWE,” Cena says.

“The highlight of my career, still, is our match at WrestleMania XIV,” Kane states. “Despite everything that I’ve done since that night, despite winning multiple championships, that match is still the highlight. It truly was the culmination of everything we’d been through up to that point, and it was one of the best rivalries WWE has ever seen. To have it all come to a head in our first match at the Show of Shows was just awesome. And, even though Undertaker defeated me, it took him three Tombstones to do it, which had never happened before.”

Dolph Ziggler Says He’s Never Happy With His Work, Update On Lilian Garcia Singing At NBA Game

– For WWE’s recent “Legends of WrestleMania” issue exclusively available on newsstands, Dolph Ziggler spoke out on what drives him in the ring.

“On a good day, I’m a bitter, angry, chip-on-my-shoulder type of guy. So when someone tells me I just tore down the house on Raw, I say, “Yeah, but you know what? There was this one situation where I wasn’t in the right place where I wanted to be.’ I was the World Champ, but I should be better,” Ziggler said.

“I’m constantly unsatisfied with any situation, which is both good and bad, because never being fully happy drives me to better every day…but I don’t enjoy the things that I do even when I do them great.”

Paige Talks #GiveDivasAChance, Her WWE Career Thus Far, Not Being Well-Liked In Developmental

In this interview with Justin LaBar of Trib Total Media, Paige speaks out on the the “#GiveDivasAChance” controversy, her less than warm welcome to WWE’s developmental program, her dream WrestleMania opponent, adjusting to WWE’s style, the cameras, Total Divas and more. Highlights from the interview are as follows:

You’ve been in the business your whole life. You’ve been a fan your whole life. You’ve been rookie of the year. Can you articulate this experience? Is it reality yet or does it still feel like a dream?

“I feel like it’s always going to be mind blowing and crazy to me. I spent two and a half years in developmental, which is incredible. I never thought I could make it there, and you never know if you will ever make the main roster. So to graduate there, make the main roster, win the Divas Championship on my first day, it all came so quickly and so soon. I still cannot believe it. I can’t believe I’ve already been the champion twice in under a year, which is completely mind blowing. So right now, no, it still doesn’t seem so real. More people recognize you on the street when you walk around. It’s crazy. I really don’t know to explain it. My ultimate goal was to be in WWE, be a champion, and I’ve done it.”

You had your first match at 13. Your family is a wrestling family. You had a lot of background coming into WWE. Did you deal with any resistance or clique kind of division? Or did everyone welcome you pretty well?

“I feel like there is always going to be a clique at any place you go into. There were handful of people who were really great to me, mostly the trainers. Norman Smiley was great. Terry Taylor was amazing. Dr. Tom was fantastic. Yes, some of the girls were a little standoffish from me, I feel like. I was completely different than they were and already had the wrestling experience. But I realized coming into developmental, I had to start over again from scratch. I guess my look, and you know, a couple of the girls said down the line when they started to like me some more, they were just like, ‘Oh, we were just a little intimidated by the way you were and how you wrestled and stuff.’ So I was like, ‘You were just going to hold that against me because I could wrestle and make me feel terrible about myself?

“So it all worked out. Any place you come in, it’s kind of like a high school thing. There are girls that have been together for a long time and a new girl comes in and it’s like who is that? It’s expected. It didn’t last very long. Summer Rae was actually the sweetest girl to me the first day I got there. She’s always been amazing and the same with me the whole time.”

Lately there’s been a lot of support for more television time for the Divas. I associate a lot of that to you, your popularity and the fan base you’ve created. You’ve been in the center of a lot of these controversies and segments of people wanting to see more of you. I think you really have generated this authentic fan base who want to see more women’s wrestling in WWE. What’s your take on that?

“Well, first of all, thank you. I appreciate that very much. I feel like it’s just me. Me and The Bellas have been working really hard the last couple of months. We’re really trying to build and tell a story and get the fans behind us. There is only so much you can do in a couple of minutes. I feel like the fans see that, and they really want to give us a chance. We only had a couple of minutes on RAW, and it caused this big uproar.

“They usually do give us a bit of time and the segment. I really appreciate the uproar started because now we’re getting tons more. We got a promo, we got this, we got that. I’ve never had this much before, but I love it. I feel like it’s definitely a two-way street. The fans love me, and they love the Bella Twins, too. They definitely have to get a lot of credit for how this big uproar started.”

Former NXT Wrestler Claims Bill Demott Bullied Trainees With Homophobic And Physical Abuse

WWE NXT trainer Bill DeMott is currently trending on Twitter after some harsh accusations from a former WWE developmental wrestler were made public on social media on Monday night.

Austin Draven (real name Austin Matelson), who formerly competed on WWE NXT as Judas Devlin, broke his silence on the nature of his departure from WWE in an interview last week with Joseph Duncan and Billy Blade of Vendetta Pro Radio 2K15. During the interview, Draven accuses WWE’s developmental program of negligence, bullying, inappropriate remarks referencing sexual orientation and favoritism. He also accuses DeMott of being a bully and reveals his tactics. To listen to the interview, click here.

In addition to the interview, a transcript of a memo Draven e-mailed to WWE officials Canyon Ceman, Dorothy Brill and Jane Geddes on March 11, 2013 accusing DeMott of misconduct was posted on Reddit.com. This memo is what led to DeMott trending on Twitter.

Subject: Coach Demott

I am composing this memo today because I have had a number of serious concerns about the actions and words of head coach Bill Demott during my employment as talent for WWE developmental. Many of these actions I have tried to ignore or hope that they would cease but because they have now put me in a dangerous situation not only for my career but for my personal health and safety I feel the need to speak out to someone of a higher authority. In this memo I will provide details on a series of incidents which underlie my concerns.

I would like to request that this remain in strict confidence as I am afraid that if Coach Demott were to know I spoke out he would find ways to punish me for it. In fact the entire process of writing a letter to human resources has been called a “faggots” way of dealing with problems by Coach Demott.

Physical Injury Due to Imprudent Coaching: The action that has led me to finally speak out happened Thursday February, 28th following our house show. I had taken an awkward hit to my knee in a match and was being examined by Brian Duncan. This hit aggravated a previous injury, one that should never have happened, that I had sustained during a practice drill orchestrated by Coach Demott after practice had already been completed. An MRI revealed a partial tear of my PCL and a strain on a ligament in the back of my knee. I have been told that I can work through it but it may aggravate here and there. This injury can be enduring as many of the superstars on the main roster wrestle their whole careers with it.

I should never have had any issues with this knee but on that particular practice day, after a 3 hour morning session had ‘ended’ at 11 AM, Demott put 280lbs Gary Jackson back in the ring at 11:30 and forced 8 of us to give him 10 takedowns each. After Gary had bumped 60 times in a matter of minutes, I entered the ring and was asked to give him 10 fireman takedowns. On the first one he collapsed from exhaustion while on my back, driving my knees into the mat where I sustained this injury.

The hit I took aggravated it and Coach Demott pulled trainer Brian Duncan and I into the training room and said without any knowledge of my actual injury, “This injury can’t keep flaring up. It doesn’t look good perception wise to us (the office) or for your career going forward.” This injury was treated after the match and I was cleared by Duncan at the time.

Based on Coach Demott’s statement I feel that I am in a position where I have to cover up any injuries I may have otherwise I will be punished or fired. The following week I was in severe discomfort but fearing repercussions I attempted to work through it. Coach Demott has not only instilled this fear in me but I have spoken to several other members of the roster who have been made to feel by Coach Demott that their current injuries are signs of weakness as men, and could potentially lead Coach Demott to advocate for their firing.

On two separate occasions Coach Demott forced me to perform dangerous moves without properly warming up. One incident followed my first evaluation where Canyon Ceman asked me to start working on my parkour and gymnastics moves. It was 7:30 am before practice and he saw me standing in the ring with Enzo Amore and said, “Do a takedown let go of him and do a back flip then go back to him.” The idea made no sense, I was not properly warmed up, and I nearly landed on my head on one attempt. Thesecond incident was before a live event he wanted Oliver Gray to test out his finisher on someone so he grabbed me and forced me to take a high bump on my neck without warming up. I had missed a week of practice because of a neck strain prior to this and Coach Demott was well aware of that.

I have also watched and participated in drills that were hazardous to our safety. He has made us do squats on the top rope including some students who had never been up that high in their careers. He made the beginners group perform monkey flips without a crash pad and the first six who participated landed on their heads and necks and were lucky not to have been seriously injured. The aforementioned drill in which Gary Jackson injured my knee also saw Memo Montenegro injury his neck and shoulder. He was on his 40th bump in 5 minutes and got dizzy before his 7th consecutive hip toss and landed on his head.

Unprofessional Work Environment: The issue of physical well-being is not my only concern. I am an educated individual who worked at Cal State Northridge with Professors and students. I know how one is suppose to conduct one’s self in a professional sense. I also understand that this is a unique business and the lines on proper behavior may be a bit blurred. Yet there is no question that Coach Demott, on a daily basis, not only makes unprofessional choices in words and actions, choices that go against many policies of this company, but choices that have created a culture of fear and negativity in this system. Showing up each day for training is mentally agonizing because of the comments we are all forced to hear. He routinely makes fun of anyone sitting out because of injury and also makes rude comments about people’s names and personal lives and has established a hostile work environment through verbal assaults. To wit:

• Demott constantly refers to Oliver Gray as Joel Pedophile which personally enrages me because I used to help a Psychology Professor in Los Angeles do lectures for sexually abused children. • When Dante Dash referred to his finishing move as the Davey boy, as it was utilized by the late Davey Smith who died tragically, Coach Demott makes the following comment, “The Davey Boy? What turning blue and dropping dead on the lawn?” • Coach Demott told student Enzo Amore that he hopes he dies. • Demott also told our entire morning class and Ricky Steamboat’s class to kill themselves just days after we tolled the ring bell 10 times for the late Mike Graham a former star FCW wrestler, who committed suicide. • Coach Demott routinely bullies Enzo verbally as well as physically. I have seen Enzo on several occasions be slapped in the face by Bill. During one practice he decided to show Enzo how doing a slam wrong could hurt someone, so he picked Enzo up and dropped him without warning directly on his head and neck. He then decided that each time a student slammed his 100lbs heavy bag with bad form that student had to slam one of his peers the same way. Demott found this drill amusing yet each student was put at serious injury risk. • Demott has grabbed an injured David Harwood by his neck pulled him to the office door and verbally chastised him for standing by the ring during practice when he wasn’t cleared, even though he was simply listening to a lecture by Ricky Steamboat. • Demott has kicked Memo Montenegro in the groin and laughed as he crumbled into a heap. Memo being a Mexican immigrant to the United States has a heavy accent, which Coach Demott constantly criticizes and makes fun of. • He routinely will attempt to bust students lip on the bottom rope when they stand to close to the ring. On several occasions he has punished students for mistakes in practice by making them bend forward putting their face near the ropes so that Coach Demott can bounce the rope off the bridge of their nose. • He routinely calls Gary Jackson a fat tub of goo, tells Osmund Cherry who is of African descent, to go back to Africa and most recently has made derogatory remarks about sexual preferences to Brandon Traven. • Coach Demott insinuated that Traven is gay and used the derogatory term “half a sissy” to make fun of him simply because he sat out practice and has had several injuries in the last couple months. This is not the first time he targeted Brandon either. In December I witnessed Coach Demott question Traven about a head injury in the trainer’s room. After Traven explained that a blow to the head in practice had made him dizzy Demott slapped him in the head and left the room. • I witnessed a similar incident a few months ago when Alexander Russev was recovering from neck surgery. Coach Demott saw Russev wearing a NY Jets shirt at practice and not liking that sports team proceeded to physically grab Russev by the collar and rip the shirt off him. Russev was not cleared for any contact at that point and clearly showed physical pain after the incident. Following this incident a group of students were discussing how this sort of thing happened before with an injured Briley Pierce. Briley had a broken leg and Coach Demott kicked him in his medical boot. This happened before I was under contract but it nonetheless seems to fit a pattern of negligent and abusive behavior that I have observed with Coach Demott and is worth investigating further. • According to Oliver Gray, he was once told that if he sat out practice to rest a very bad low back injury that CoachDemott would pull him from the NXT tapings and from attending the Royal Rumble, even though the trainer had requested that Oliver sit out just one practice.

I have been in this system under Coach Demott for 8 months now and was recently told that I am not improving at a rate that is acceptable. I have made concerted efforts in the past to practice more often and work on the parkour moves requested by Canyon Ceman. However Bill has routinely kicked me out of the building after practice including a day when WWE superstar Alex Riley asked me to work on some parkour moves with him. This along with his constant interrupting of practices just to put people down and make negative comments has all but killed any motivation I have to spend extra time around him.

It should be stated that I am not a vindictive person. I am open-minded and do not have a problem with off-color jokes or difficult practice drills. I was signed to this company after Steve Regal told me he saw tremendous improvement in my ring work between tryouts. I told Mr. Regal that I could only imagine how good I could become working 24/7 for this company. I have always been intrinsically motivated and will practice something until I perfect it. Yet I personally feel that coach Demott creates an environment that hinders my opportunities to improve. Coach Demott restricts our practices, instead opting for dangerous and unproductive drills, while constantly verbally assaulting our appearances, personalities, sexual preferences, injuries, and character it seems impossible for me to maximize my time in the ring. In fact even as recently as training on March 4th, guest trainer Lance Storm went out of his way to demonstrate moves to me that Coach Demott had kicked me out of the building for not doing correctly. When I asked him how to do them Coach Demott said, “That was shit Judas, get out of the building.”

Is this the type of work environment that the WWE desires? When can we set up a time to discuss this matter?

In closing I would be remiss if I did not clarify to you that this is solely a problem with Bill Demott and not a problem with the fine coaching staff that has been assembled around him. For example, Ricky Steamboat has been a terrific help to me and always provides me with positive reinforcement and quality examples to learn from. Terry Taylor has gone out of his way to pull me aside and give me helpful advice. Billy Gunn has been an amazingly refreshing force bringing knowledge and enthusiasm that has been extremely beneficial to the system. The changes that have recently occurred in the WWE have been excellent and I am excited for the future plans of WWE Developmental. It is because of these positive attributes that I am expressing my concerns to you. I want to be a part of a solution to the problems that I have listed, one that will lead to future success for the developmental system.

Thank you for your time, Austin Matelson
