– Cody Rhodes disagrees with those who feel that Vince McMahon squandered his talent during his nine-year tenure with WWE (2007-2016).
On Twitter, Rhodes responded to a fan who feels that McMahon used him “like crap” during his time in WWE. Rhodes takes completes responsibility for his career stalling while there.
Rhodes also responded to a fan who believes that he never complains about WWE.
WWE granted Rhodes his release on May 21, 2016, after he requested it the day before. Rhodes cited frustration with WWE’s creative team and his standing in the company as reasons for requesting his release. He pleaded with writers to end the Stardust character for over six months and pitched numerous storyline ideas that weren’t used.

Stephanie McMahon was among the featured speakers today at the SportsBusiness Journal’s 2018 SBJ Game Changers Conference in New York City, a one-day event focused on the multiple ways in which women intersect with sports. During a discussion panel called “Ideas That Move Us Forward: Storytelling In Sports Business,” Stephanie revealed the reason behind WWE’s success.
“We’re successful for one reason only: We listened to our audience,” Stephanie said.

WWE.com has announced that Sheamus and Cesaro’s opponents will be determined in a Triple Threat Match on next week’s episode of SmackDown LIVE. The teams that will be facing off are The Usos, SAnitY and the tandem of Rusev and Aiden English.
– Tino Sabbatelli, who is currently sidelined after tearing his pectoral muscle during a match in April, revealed on his Instagram Story earlier this week that he underwent another procedure.
There’s no word on how long the NXT star will be out of action, but this type of injury generally requires a six to nine month recuperation period following the initial surgery.
On another note, Sabbatelli turned 35 years old on August 24.

– Neville is now a former WWE Superstar.
After it was reported last week that Neville is no longer under contract to WWE, his WWE.com profile has been moved to the Alumni section — in between MVP and Papa Shango.
Although WWE has not issued an official statement regarding Neville’s departure from the organization, the company confirmed to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline that he is no longer under contract to WWE. Meltzer also noted that Neville is free to wrestle elsewhere.
– Alexa Bliss, Seth Rollins, Nikki Bella, Brie Bella and Lilian Garcia are among the celebrity guests scheduled to appear at ACE Comic Con Midwest on Friday, October 12 at Chicago’s Navy Pier. Fans will have the opportunity to meet all five wrestling stars as they will be signing autographs and doing photo-ops. Garcia will also moderate Q&A panels with Bliss, Rollins, and The Bella Twins.

– Nineteen years ago this week, Lilian Garcia made her WWE debut in Ames, Iowa, handling ring announcing duties for Raw Is War. She held this position for the next 10 years, and in the process, became the first “WWE Diva” to remain with the promotion for a decade.

Two more big matches have been revealed for WWE Hell in a Cell, which takes place on Sunday, September 16 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The official website of the AT&T Center is now advertising Roman Reigns as defending the Universal Championship against Braun Strowman, as well as Ronda Rousey defending the Raw Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss.
WWE has officially announced two matches for the show so far: AJ Styles defending the WWE Championship against Samoa Joe (announced on Friday), and Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella vs. The Miz and Maryse in a Mixed Tag Team Match (announced on Tuesday).
In addition to the aforementioned matches, the AT&T Center is also advertising these two bouts:

– As expected, Madison Rayne’s latest stint in IMPACT Wrestling has officially come to an end.
Earlier this week, her profile on ImpactWrestling.com was removed from the Knockouts roster and placed among the Alumni.
Last month at Slammiversary, Rayne unsuccessfully challenged Su Yung for the Knockouts Championship. Rayne passed out after Yung locked in the mandible claw, thus awarding the victory to Yung. Immediately following the match, Yung placed an unconscious Rayne inside the coffin and stood on top of it with the Knockouts Championship held high.
Yung’s actions seemingly wrote off Rayne’s character from IMPACT Wrestling and the promotion alluded to that on Twitter.
A week later, WWE announced that she would compete as Ashley Rayne in Mae Young Classic 2018.
– In association with Xcite Wrestling, IMPACT Wrestling will hold their next One Night Only pay-per-view event taping this Saturday in Binghamton, New York at American Legion Post 80. The event is officially titled “One Night Only: Night of the Dummies” and tickets are currently on sale at xcitewrestling.com.
Rebel has announced that she will be facing Alisha Edwards at the event.
Alisha recently broke out on her own after generally being attached to angles involving her husband, Eddie Edwards. On August 2, she revealed to Alicia Atout that she was putting her personal life to the side to focus on the Knockouts division. She returned to action the following week on IMPACT, losing to Tessa Blanchard. She had her second match on last night’s show, which resulted in a loss to Kiera Hogan.

– Ahead of SummerSlam next Sunday, WWE has announced a contract signing and another match for Raw tomorrow night in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Seth Rollins will meet Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler (and Drew McIntyre) for a contract signing that will make their title match at SummerSlam official.
Before defending the Raw Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam, Bliss will take on Natalya as both Alicia Fox and Rousey look on from ringside.
This is in addition to an already announced Triple Threat Match for the Raw Tag Team Championship, with The B-Team defending the straps against The Deleters of Worlds and The Revival.

– Maria Kanellis’ plan for returning to WWE television could be put on hold as the SmackDown LIVE Superstar recently broke her wrist.

– Hulk Hogan is teasing a big announcement for October 27.
On Saturday, “The Hulkster” appeared at the National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland, Ohio and while firing up a large crowd of fans, the WWE Hall of Famer teased a big announcement.
“All the brothers out here with the nWo shirts on, something really special is going to be going down,” Hogan said.
“Just remember, the date, October 27. Go to HulkHogan.com, something very special is gonna happen October 27.”
On the front page of HulkHogan.com, there is a message from Hogan (or Hollywood Hulk Hogan) that reads:

Hogan also addressed his reinstatement into the WWE Hall of Fame during his speech.
“There’s a lot of stuff going on. WWE put Hulk Hogan back in the Hall of Fame,” Hogan said to a rousing ovation.

– WWE.com has added a profile on the newest member of NXT’s broadcast team, Sarah Schreiber.
Schreiber began working for WWE in April at WrestleMania Axxess and quickly became a fixture at NXT live events in Florida as she often serves as a ring announcer and host. She recently began appearing on NXT television in a role similar to Renee Young.

– Bret Hart attended tonight’s UFC event, UFC Fight Night: Alvarez vs. Poirier, at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and appeared on camera during the television broadcast on FOX.
UFC Heavyweight/Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier got excited putting “The Hit Man” over on commentary, saying, “The Intercontinental Champion, the tag team champion, the WWE Champion! He’s the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be, “The Hit Man” Bret Hart! Welcome Bret to the UFC!”
Before beating Gadzhimurad Antigulov via TKO, Ion Cutelaba entered the Octagon wearing Hart’s trademark sunglasses as the wrestling legend’s WWE entrance theme played.
During the show, Hart posted a photo on Instagram of himself with UFC President Dana White.

– Brandi Rhodes noted yesterday on Twitter that she will not be wrestling at “ALL IN,” which takes place on Saturday, September 1 at the Sears Centre in the Chicago suburb of Hoffman Estates, Illinois. She will, however, still appear at the event “with as many Beyonce style costume changes as time will allow.”
In response to a question asking if she will ring announce at the event, Rhodes said she’s not a ring announcer anymore.
Rhodes appeared as a ring announcer for WWE before leaving the promotion in 2016. She is currently under contract to Ring of Honor and also appears for various independent promotions alongside her husband, Cody Rhodes.

– Moose suffered a concussion during Sunday’s Impact World Championship Match at Slammiversary against Austin Aries, IMPACT Wrestling announced Friday.
As a result, Moose will not wrestle at Sunday’s Confrontation LIVE event in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was advertised to face Jaxon Stone at the show, which IMPACT Wrestling is co-promoting with AML Wrestling.
IMPACT adds, “We will provide updates as they become available.”
In the main event, Moose came up short to Aries as the former 205 Live star connected with a second Brain Buster to win the match and retain the Impact World Championship.

– IMPACT Wrestling has released Scarlett Bordeaux’s theme song and entrance video on YouTube.

After weeks of mysterious vignettes, Bordeaux made her IMPACT Wrestling debut last Thursday. Calling herself “The Smoke Show” during an interview with Alicia Atout, she vows to make wrestling “sexy again.”

– Kona Reeves is firing back at harsh criticism from fans.
Before his match against Kassius Ohno at Thursday’s NXT live event in San Diego, California, the official Instagram account of NXT posted a photo of Reeves backstage and noted that he only drinks “The Finest” coffee. The post drew a lot of harsh criticism from fans towards Reeves and he responded in the comment thread by calling them “dirtbags” who are jealous of him.
Reeves wrote, “All these #DirtBags on this comment thread are just jealous of me because I’m living my Dreams, while they are working their 9-5 common life!! They live life to the fullest? Well, I Live Life To #THEFINEST.”

– Jessica “Jessie” Elaban made her NXT road trip debut at Thursday’s show in San Diego, California, teaming with Kairi Sane in a victory over Taynara Conti and Vanessa Borne. This is a huge step for her since she only began training to wrestle about a year ago at the WWE Performance Center.

– James Ellsworth’s future in WWE appears uncertain after Asuka annihilated the man himself to the tune of kicks, strikes and a smothering Asuka Lock following her loss to Carmella last Sunday at Extreme Rules. Then two days later on SmackDown LIVE, General Manager Paige asked Carmella how “her boyfriend” is doing. Carmella appeared disgusted, saying “eww” and that he’s not her boyfriend.
With Ellsworth seemingly out of the picture as Carmella’s associate, WWE Network personality Peter Rosenberg wants to give the SmackDown Women’s Champion “a real manager.”
On Friday, Rosenberg responded to Carmella’s latest Instagram post with the following: “I have so many ideas for when I supplant @jamesellsworthwrestling and give you a real manager!”

– Two weeks ago, IMPACT Wrestling announced that Tessa Blanchard had signed a “long-term” contract.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Blanchard’s contract with IMPACT Wrestling is a two-year deal.
Blanchard will be in action tonight at Slammiversary as she takes on Allie. Here is a video previewing their match.
