Ryback Says He Will Tell The Truth About CM Punk

Ryback has again responded to former WWE Superstar CM Punk’s “slander” of him in an explosive two-hour interview with Colt Cabana on the “Art of Wrestling” podcast that was released Thursday (listen here).

Ryback wrote on Twitter on Friday afternoon, “Last message on this. I will tell the truth about @CMPunk comments in due time. Not once did he ever confront me. Let’s all move on. Thank u.”

Beginning at 51:50 in the interview, Punk griped about his experience working with Ryback, who he labeled a dangerous worker and steroid user. Punk said wrestling Ryback “took twenty years off my fucking life” and blamed him for injuring him on multiple occasions.

“I’m already beat up and I have to wrestle steroid guy,” Punk said as he recalled being asked to work a program with Ryback in the fall of 2012 since management felt he could carry him in matches. “I call it like I see it. He’s very hurty, sometimes deliberate. There was one time he kicked me in the stomach as hard he could and he broke my ribs, right at the tail end. I never got an apology for that. He was something else. A real piece of work that guy.”

Later in interview, Punk took a jab at Triple H for failing to elevate Curtis Axel after promising he would. Punk offered to work with the third-generation wrestler, but WWE officials ignored his request. Instead, he was continuously booked in matches with Ryback—now paired with Paul Heyman—who he had requested to management to not to work with. Punk later agrees to work with him and gets injured in an encounter at Night of Champions.

“I go up to Ryan [Ryback’s real name] and I go, ‘Hey man, clean slate. Let’s fucking kill this. Let’s fucking show them that you’re better than they think you are. Let’s show them I’m better than they think I am and let’s turn this mid-card shit into a fucking main event,” said Punk.

Imitating Ryback’s voice, “‘Yeah, I’m really excited, blah, blah, blah.'”

Punk recalled, “First night out, Gorilla Press through a table…fucking misses the table. Dumps me on the concrete fucking ground. Tilts my fucking pelvis, fucks me up for weeks.”

Punk said he later asked Ryback if he hurt him on purpose or if he’s “dumb as fuck.”

He continued to Cabana, “I’m compensating because my knee is still fucked, both my knees, you know what I mean? The one I just had surgery on six months ago and the one that was fucking torn up and I refused to have surgery on. I just wanted to rehab it, which I did. And now it’s at the point where I walk up to him and I go, ‘You can’t tell me you didn’t do that on purpose because you’ve done it so many times now. You either tell me right now you’re dumb as fuck and you suck, or you did it on purpose. And he was like, ‘I’m dumb as fuck. I’m sorry.'”

Punk said, “At that point, there was nothing I could do. In my mind it was like, ‘Great. Fuck, there’s nothing I can do.'”

“The Big Guy” fired back at Punk on Twitter with an image of an action figure diorama before saying, “For the record if I quit for being fragile and insecure I would make up excuses too,” Ryback wrote. “Things didn’t go my way for a long time and I kept going day in and out. Slander is a powerful thing and to state complete made up nonsense for no reason shows his insecurities. I will continue to bust my ass study matches every chance I get, cut promos when driving and push myself for hours on end even when hurt. Thank you.”

WWE Issues Statement In Response To CM Punk’s Comments Ripping WWE Doctors

WWE issued a statement Thursday night to Yahoo! Sports in response to an article highlighting CM Punk’s criticism of the sports-entertainment organization’s medical tactics in a podcast interview.

“WWE takes the health and wellness of its talent very seriously and has a comprehensive Talent Wellness Program that is led by one of the most well-respected physicians in the country, Dr. Joseph Maroon,” the statement reads.

Nearly ten months after his final appearance for WWE, Punk finally addressed the circumstances behind his departure from the sports-entertainment organization in an explosive two-hour interview with Colt Cabana on the “Art of Wrestling” podcast (click here to listen).

During the interview, Punk said the main reason he left the company was because of his health. He was particularly critical of Dr. Chris Amann, WWE’s Senior Ringside Physician, who misdiagnosed an MRSA infection he had on his back for months as a “fatty deposit.” A doctor with no affiliation to WWE who examined Punk said he could have died from it.

Prior to this, Punk said he was pressured on more than one occasion by WWE officials to return to action while injured.

“I got a concussion in the Royal Rumble,” Punk said, referring to the 2014 match. “It’s pretty godd*** obvious. I knew I had a concussion. Everyone knew I had a concussion. And they were like we want you to take this test and I said your test is bull***. I took the test while texting you [Colt Cabana] and listening to my headphones and I “passed” with flying colors. But then they were like we want you to go to the ring and run the ropes. And I was like but I just passed your test and they were like yeah, but we still think you have a concussion. I was like so your test is worthless. I’m not going out in the f****** ring like a two-week rookie to run the ropes in front of everybody. Let’s just call it [a concussion] now.”

Punk was also pressured to wrestle just as he was to begin rehab from elbow surgery. He recalled, “I remember when I was supposed to go back to Birmingham and get cleared before I came back to wrestle from my elbow. One day I was just at TV and it was the same thing … I’ll probably just cut a promo and then Michael Hayes comes up to me and goes, “Alright, you’re working so and so,” and I was like no I’m not. I just got this laser eye surgery and I don’t want anyone f****** up my eyes. And he’s like you really should have told somebody, and I was like told them what … my elbow! And he goes no, I just checked and they said you’re cleared. I was like I haven’t even gone to Birmingham to see Dr. [James] Andrews yet, what do you mean I’m cleared? I talked to Dr. [Chris] Amann and Dr. Amann was like I called him [Dr. Andrews] and I told him how you were and he said OK and he cleared you. I was like what kind of witch doctory bull**** is that? Like I’m going to go see him before I f****** wrestle. Book that s***, I’m not wrestling tonight.”

Punk noted that he would forward to undergoing surgery just so he could get some time off from WWE’s strenuous road schedule.

WWE Employee Argues With Fans On Twitter Over CM Punk Interview Comments

For the first time since bolting from WWE in January, CM Punk publicly addressed the circumstances behind his departure from the sports-entertainment organization in an explosive two-hour interview with Colt Cabana on the “Art of Wrestling” podcast. (Listen Here)

Punk spoke extensively on Vince McMahon and Triple H as he went after them on issues relating to creative direction and mismanagement. Brian “Road Dogg” James, who works behind-the-scenes for WWE, argued with fans criticizing the company on Twitter Thursday night after the interview came out.

After a fan James follows on Twitter wrote, “Fuck you Vince. Fuck you Hunter.” James responded, “You only hear one side of the story!” After the fan said what Punk revealed about McMahon and Hunter made him angry, James said, “I understand that but are you sure you have all of the facts? There are always 2 sides to every story. Just to be clear, I don’t know the truth either! I just know how these stories get told around our industry.”

James then had lengthy exchange with a fan expressing his unhappiness with Punk feeling unhappy and mistreated behind-the-scenes in WWE. This fan wrote to James, “I hope no one else is holding those emotions inside & not speaking up about it.” James responded, “It’s crazy but do you always get treated perfectly at work? It’s a team and we need team players, everyone can’t win!”

The fan then wrote, “Never was a big Punk mark, but seems like he was very unhappy & mistreated behind the scenes.” James wrote back, “How was he “mistreated”? After the fan said “just his words,” James wrote, “I get it, but you just asked me if anyone else was being “mistreated” so I was interested as to what he meant by that.”

The fan then said, “Well, from what I heard, he was beat up & needed a break that he never got, he wasn’t paid handsomely & claimed the he deserved to be in the main event of WrestleMania, which is why he felt miserable.” James responded, “Did you just read what you typed? He didn’t get to be in the main event so he got hot!!! C’mon man! I like Punk but dang.”

Ryback Reacts To CM Punk Calling Him A Roided-Up Dumb F*ck

After the fan again said it was Punk’s words, James remarked, “So if VKM or HHH did a podcast would you believe every word of those too?”

James continued, “When I quit and then got release papers, I dogged the company too. It’s what you do when you aren’t honest with yourself.”

The fan then remarked to James, “I’m not taking sides, but I wanna hear WWE’s response to what he said.” James responded, “Well you never will. The way everyone is reacting, I don’t believe it’s in the WWE’s best interest to give one.”

After it appeared both sides were going to have a stalemate until his contract expired, Punk recalled getting a text message from Triple H on June 11—two days before his wedding with AJ Lee. Punk told Hunter he was getting married and they could discuss the matter when he returned home from the honeymoon. Then, on the day of his wedding, Punk received a FedEx with termination papers. James addressed the topic to the fan, saying, “As far as release papers on his wedding day, wasn’t his wedding a secret? How did they know it was his wedding day?”

CM Punk Says WWE Banned Him, Another Top Superstar From Signing With UFC

James continued, “If he has no hard feelings why all the negative talk. He was “The Man” and that guy runs hard all year long. I’m done!”

James continued responding to the fan after the fan wrote, “& he wanted to know, why John Cena is the only one, that gets his “Make-A-Wish” showcased, when has had equal amount of grants.”

“I’m not sure that’s true. Like I said, I’m done. It’s he said she said stuff and it’s history. #HappyThanksgiving,” James wrote.

The exchange concluded after the fan says “Maybe he’s just a little salty, about not being the top guy anymore.” To this remark, James said, “Yep, maybe!”

James also responded to this fan question: “Why were vince and Hunter such jerks to cm punk?”

“A business relationship is between 2 or more people, you’ve now heard 1 side of the story,” James stated. “You’ll never hear the other. That’s his story. I can tell you some too if you’d like!”

During the interview, Punk was particularly critical of Chris Amann, WWE’s Senior Ringside Physician. Punk said Amann misdiagnosed and ignored a MRSA infection on his back for months and that the first doctor he went to after leaving WWE was stunned to hear that he wrestled with it. This doctor said he could have died from it. A fan asked James, “Why didn’t the wwe doctors treated his injuries right? Or even the @WWE?”

“Can’t even believe you just asked that! We have a trainer and a dr. Talent goes to doc of their choice! Dang,” James wrote.

WWE Issues Statement In Response To CM Punk’s Comments Ripping WWE Doctors

James again compared the situation to his own several years ago when he parted ways with WWE on bitter terms. A fan wrote, “@WWERoadDogg is bashing @CMPunk now. Coming from the hypocrite who trashed HHH on a shoot video a few years ago and now is up his ass.” James responded, “I did exactly what Punk did. I parted ways from the company and I bashed them. Call me what you will mate.”

James continued, “And if you call being friends with someone being “up their a**” then I guess you’re right. Not bashin Punk, just counter points.”

The fan then remarked, “There’s just a lot of us who hate what WWE has become. After hearing what Del Rio and Punk have said it’s not hard to see why.” James responded, “I understand your complaint and you’re definitely entitled to it. I don’t want to bash Punk but there is another side.”

Following all this, James stated to his Twitter followers, “Didn’t mean to argue and I’m sorry to those I offended. I’ll just keep quiet on this subject. I’m passionate about the business. I’m sorry.”

WWE Trying To Stop Fans From Chanting “CM Punk”, Late Change To Sunday’s Divas Title Match

– He might be gone from WWE, but CM Punk has left a presence in the company. Nearly ten months after his last appearance for the sports-entertainment organization, fans continue to chant for the Chicago native at live events. This often occurs during matches featuring his wife, AJ Lee. While WWE has been able to censor signs acknowledging the former WWE Superstar, this may now extend to chants.

According to a fan who sat ringside at last night’s Survivor Series pay-per-view event at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri, WWE personnel directed security members for the venue to not allow fans to chant “CM Punk.”

– AJ Lee is once again a former Divas Champion after losing the title Sunday night at Survivor Series to Nikki Bella in 33 seconds. Brie Bella planted a kiss on Lee, leading Nikki to quickly pin the stunned Diva. As short as the match, it was actually supposed to be shorter. Plus, the participants weren’t notified of the creative direction for the match until the last minute.

“Do you know when these two were told they had 20 seconds?” Bryan Alvarez mentioned on today’s Bryan & Vinny Show on F4WOnline.com recapping Survivor Series. “They were told right as they were going over all of the spots in their match.”

He was admitted to emergency room after having problems breathing due to his airway passages being blocked. It’s his third time battling tonsilitis this year.

The New York Times published an article on Friday on Cesaro Granados, a 39-year-old independent pro wrestler from New York who works as a chimney sweep.

“A promoter gave me the name [Super Astro] because of the way I could fly through the sky,'” said Granados, who competes for the Bronx Wrestling Federation and other independent organizations.

It is noted in the article that his girlfriend objects to the roughly $150 a week he spends on wrestling equipment and practice. Granados’s outfit alone cost $500 and he often makes less than $100 per match.

Kamala Talks Life As A Double-Amputee, Negative Dealings With Vince McMahon

BleacherReport.com has published a story looking at the rise and fall of “The Ugandan Giant” Kamala, who now lives his life as a double-amputee. In the article, the former WWE Superstar discusses his present circumstances and looks back at his lengthy wrestling career.

On November 7, 2011, Kamala, who’s real name is James Harris, had his leg amputated below the knee due to complications of high blood pressure and diabetes. His right leg was amputated the following spring. This was due to Harris going nearly 20 years without paying attention to his health.

Harris had been urged by his physicians to begin dialysis treatment after being diagnosed with diabetes in 1992. He ignored their advice, choosing instead to carry on with his life as if the disease wasn’t present within him. Poor eating habits pushed his weight past 400-pounds in 2002; a simple walk from the parking lot to his physician’s office caused him to become short of breath.

“‘If you don’t go on dialysis soon, you’re going to start losing body parts,'” the doctor told Harris.

“I wish I would’ve listened,” says Harris.

A few days after noticing fluid leaking from his foot in September 2011, Harris went to a doctor and had three of his toes removed. Within a month of the surgery, Harris returned to the hospital to have his entire foot amputated. The recovery process was so painful that a few days later, he asked the doctor to remove the rest of his leg above the knee.

The pain was excruciating for Harris as screams echoed through the halls of Baptist Memorial Hospital the day after surgery. His dosage of anesthetics increased, and Harris’ wife, Emmer, tried to calm him down by clutching his hand. It did not work as Harris wailed in agony throughout the day while nurses plead with him to stop.

Harris endured the same ordeal the following spring by losing his right leg.

“I could hardly stomach it,” he says.

Medicaid paid for a $6,000 pair of prosthetic legs for Harris, but because of his great size, doctors struggled to attach them to his stumps. Rather than cling to false hope of walking again, Harris adjusted to life as a double-amputee.

“I didn’t even want to look down at first,” says Harris, who found the situation difficult to accept. “But when I came home (from the hospital), I would look down, and I’d cry a little. I’d think, ‘I’m not normal, am I? I’m not normal anymore. People are going to treat me like I’m not normal.’ But I made it through. I made it through.

“I still have crying spells, but they’re not as bad as they used to be.”

Harris has never been shy about expressing his displeasure about how he was treated in WWE, and does so again in this article. However, he now admits he was partly to blame.

Harris says his biggest mistake was leaving WWE without warning in 1987 due to unhappiness with pay, after feuding with Hulk Hogan and Jake “The Snake” Roberts. He now feels he should’ve handled things differently.

“I can understand now why Vince [McMahon] would’ve been upset,” he says.

Harris returned to the company in 1992, but it was still a struggle for him financially. Since WWE makes most performers pay their own hotel and rental car fees, there were nights when Harris would sleep in his vehicle so he wouldn’t have to pay for a room. He was released in July 1993, two weeks after his sister and his niece were murdered by his sister’s husband.

Asked to comment on its relationship with Harris, WWE released this statement:

“During his time at WWE and the other organizations he performed for, Jim Harris’s larger-than-life character, Kamala, resonated with fans around the world. Jim had several stints with WWE, where he was given every opportunity to succeed, often being paired with such legends as Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker.

“Ultimately, Jim was the one who made the decisions to leave WWE. WWE appreciates the contributions he made to our organization, and we send him our best wishes as he continues to fight health challenges.”

Harris hopes his relationship with WWE going forward is a positive one.

“A lot of the things I’ve said about the WWE…I don’t mean them,” Harris says. “I’m proud to say I worked there. I just always hoped that one day Vince would accept me like he did some of the other wrestlers.

“I wish things would’ve been better.”

Much more is contained in the article, with Harris discussing his day-to-day life in Senatobia, Mississippi, his early life, the creation of Kamala, wrestling the likes of Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan, the WWE Hall of Fame, and his outlook on life now that he is no longer on top. Jim Ross, Jerry “The King” Lawler, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, Mick Foley and Koko B. Ware were also interviewed for the piece.

Another Sign That Eve Torres Could Be Returning To WWE

The official WWE website issued a poll that will again fuel rumors of former Diva Eve Torres returning to the sports-entertainment organization.

For a future episode of WWE Countdown on the WWE Network, WWE.com issued this poll today asking fans, “Who is the most dynamic Diva?” The poll is limited to active Divas, with one exception: Eve Torres.

A piece of news last month indicated that Torres could be returning to WWE as an active performer. On Oct. 24, WWE filed a trademark application to the U.S Patent and Trademark Office for “Eve Torres” for the purpose of “wrestling exhibitions and performances by professional wrestlers.” This description matches another performer name the company applied to trademark.

Torres, who became the first person to win the Divas Championship on three occasions, left WWE in January 2013 on her own accord to focus on her role as an instructor for the Gracie Self-defense Program for Women. Earlier this year, she landed a recurring guest role as Reyna Flores on the El Rey television series, Matador. Throughout her hiatus, she has remained linked to WWE as an ambassador.

Former Germany Goalkeeper Tim Wiese Appears At WWE Live Event On Saturday

Former Germany goalkeeper Tim Wiese appeared at Saturday’s WWE live event in Frankfurt as an official timekeeper for a match pitting The Usos against Gold and Stardust.

After the match concluded, Wiese had a staredown with the Dust Busters.

Wiese drew a lot of attention from the German media for his WWE appearance he spoke to a number of reporters prior to the show.

Wiese made multiple appearances for Germany’s national team between 2008 and 2012, but more notably, was German club Werder Bremen’s No 1 goalkeeper between 2005 and 2012. His contract with German club Hoffenheim was mutually terminated on January 21, 2014 after the 32-year-old suddenly ballooned and put on an incredible amount of muscle. This prompted reports that he was planning to switch trades and pursue a career as a professional wrestler. He has tried out for WWE and claimed in September that he was offered a contract.

“@NotSoAverageJoe: @JRsBBQ any thoughts on ex-goalkeeper Tim Weise??”, Jim Ross was asked by a fan today, responding, “I was at his tryout. Lots of charisma. #hopeful.”

Hulk Hogan Training For Match At WrestleMania, Talks John Cena Turning Heel, Sting & More

Hulk Hogan appeared as a guest on The Turnbuckle Weekly with Chuck Carroll where he discussed the possibility of wrestling at WrestleMania, John Cena turning heel, Sting and more. Carroll sent us these highlights from the interview:

Hogan told me his training is going great, he’s lost a few pounds, and isn’t having any back pain. So does that mean he’s going to have one final match at WrestleMania?

He’s hoping to, but told me he needs to keep getting in the ear of Vince McMahon and Triple H to make it happen.

I also asked him how a heel turn from John Cena would compare to his in 1996.

“If John Cena ever turned heel and really stole some of Hollywood Hogan’s tricks and backstabbing tacticts, I think the people would cheer him out of the building. I think the fans would go crazy. I’m not talking about Thuganomics, I’m talking about being a stone cold, heartless, no good bad guy… I think Cena could pull it off.”

I also asked whether he’d have any interest in wrestling Sting at WrestleMania.

“I don’t think the match would be Sting and Hogan. Sting has been talking about the Undertaker. I’ve got a split decision, I think either the Undertaker or John Cena would be a great match for Sting. I really have a gut feeling that we’re going to see some Stinger Splashes at WrestleMania 31. That’s my opinion.”

He was pretty funny talking about WWE giving away the WWE Network for free in November.

“I think Vince McMahon must have been hit in the head with one of your turnbuckles, brother! That’s crazy!”

Dean Ambrose, who will face Seth Rollins this Sunday at Hell in a Cell, still finds being a babyface to be “a bit strange” after splitting from The Shield in June.

“I never pictured myself being liked by anybody. I’ve always fed off negativity and wanting people to hate me. That attitude really fueled me for my entire career. So being a guy that people like and want to cheer for is the weird part,” Ambrose told Rolling Stone for an article profiling his persona.

As a babyface, Ambrose must also face the challenge of maintaining his performance edge “without succumbing to clichés.”

“I think we’ve trained the audience that it’s, ‘Good guy does down, good guy starts shaking, crowd starts clapping, good guy claps his hands three times, hits his move, finish,'” Ambrose laments. “Everybody’s got a formula for their comeback. And no offense to anybody, but John Cena has his comeback, Kofi Kingston has his comeback. I’ve got a little formula too, but I keep it much shorter. I’m like, ‘Why does everything have to be so locked into a box?'”

Name-dropping Dusty Rhodes, Terry Funk and Bruiser Brody, Ambrose hopes to fashion himself in their image as “just a wild man,” saying, “I have that anti-romantic image in my head. I was kind of living in my own little mini-version of that.”

He continues, “Who knows how long that will last? All the people who love me right now are probably gonna hate me next month.”

Elsewhere in the article, it is revealed that Ambrose has a girlfriend and he currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her name, however, is not mentioned, only that she resides in New York City and he was spending time there in a rare window of time off.

Seth Rollins Talks Wanting To Headline Hell In A Cell, Whether CM Punk Will Return To WWE, Heyman

Ahead of his match against Dean Ambrose at Hell in a Cell this Sunday, Seth Rollins spoke to Digital Spy.

Since the former Shield teammates are ‘co-main eventing’ the show with John Cena and Randy Orton, Rollins was asked whether he cares which match is going to be on last.

“Yeah, it is. I’d be lying to you if I didn’t say that it was. We won’t know the answer to that question till Sunday comes. Of course it’s important. I want to go on last every single night, regardless of the match, regardless of the show,” Rollins said.

“But you throw in the added element that we’re going up against a Cena-Orton match, which has been headlining pay-per-views for the last decade, that’s something huge. That’s a big thing to be able to go on after that match and exceed all the expectations.

“That’s important. I want that challenge, I want that responsibility and I wanna go on last and I wanna be known as the guy who goes on last every single night. That’s important to me.”

After nearly cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase on Brock Lesnar at Night of Champions, Rollins had an interesting chat with Paul Heyman afterwards. Rollins was asked whether it’s possible he will be a “Paul Heyman Guy.”

“You never know. Paul’s a very intelligent guy, a good guy to have on your side, clearly. He’s representing, advocating for the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion and I’d never rule it out,” said Rollins. “I’d be lying if I’d tell you right now that I’ve never taken a piece of advice from Paul Heyman, ‘cos I surely have. And there’ll probably be more pieces of advice in the future that I’ll take from him. Paul’s a guy who’s always helped me out, always been on my side.”

Another “Paul Heyman Guy” was CM Punk. Rollins was asked whether he will ever be back, possibly before WrestleMania 31.

“Before WrestleMania 31 highly, highly unlikely. Down the road? Part of me was 100% sure he’d be back at some point but the longer he’s away, the more it makes me wonder that maybe he’s gone. He spent a good portion of his life dedicated to this business, it’s good for him to maybe get away,” Rollins said.

“He’s done all there really is to do. So I hope that he’s happy and I hope that he’s doing well for himself and enjoying his life away from wrestling. You know, that’s what we all work for is to be able to retire early and enjoy our lives, so I hope that’s the case for him.”

Rollins also discussed Hell in a Cell memories, his rivalry with Randy Orton and the NXT star he feels is the one to watch. The full interview is available here.

AJ Lee On Why She Won’t Appear On Total Divas, Locker Room Reaction To Paige Winning The Title & More

Ahead of her match against Paige at the Hell in a Cell this Sunday, Divas Champion AJ Lee appeared as a guest this week on Turnbuckle Weekly with Chuck Carroll.

Lee was asked about whether she would ever consider joining the cast of Total Divas and she was adamant that would never happen.

“It’s been well documented for the second season they tried to get me on board. I’m not interested in being famous. I’m interested in doing my job and doing it well and that’s wrestling and that’s what I love,” AJ said. “I could do it, but I wouldn’t do it. I’m just happy being who I am on TV two days a week and on live events and then going into my private life, and into my little hole in the middle of nowhere and having no one talk to me about my private life.”

She also said she was happy that Paige would be joining the cast next season.

They spoke a lot about her in-ring chemistry with Paige as well as their friendship outside of WWE.

She asked whether there was any animosity toward Paige from veterans after she won the Divas title in her debut. She said no, because her debut was perfectly timed because the AJ character had been talking crap for about a year and just defeated every Diva on the roster a night earlier in the inaugural Vickie Guerrero Battle Royal. So, new blood was definitely needed.

“We needed something to give the division a kick in the butt and Paige is perfect for that,” she said.

Here is a little more from the interview:

On whether she knew she would win Diva’s Title after taking two months off from WWE

I certainly didn’t know. That was a pleasant surprise. That’s the thing, every time I’ve put the title on the line against Paige she’s won it. So, I’m slightly nervous going into Sunday.

On teasing a same-sex crush between she and Paige

“Well, we are a PG program. But I think that’s the fun part. The thing is everyone said my character is unpredictable and you didn’t know where it was going. And then to have somebody that does the same thing, that’s also kind of kooky and crazy and you didn’t know what we were going to do for a while.”

During the full interview, they also covered:

– More on her in-ring chemistry with Paige

– More on their friendship and similar characters

– More on why she just said no to Total Divas

– Debunking rumors about Total Divas cast members not getting title shots

– Who she wants to be in the WWE Hall of Fame

– Whether she considers herself Hall of Fame worthy

Press Release Issued On Grand Jury Investigating 1983 Death Of Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka’s Girlfriend

As reported today, it was announced that a Pennsylvania County grand jury will investigate the 1983 death of Nancy L. Argentino, the girlfriend of WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka.

District Attorney Jim Martin determined that after taking a “fresh look” at the cold case, there is enough evidence for the Lehigh County grand jury to review it. His decision to re-examine the case stemmed from a report in the Allentown, Pennsylvania-based newspaper The Morning Call seven months ago, which published a story concerning Argentino’s death. The article revealed an autopsy report and police interviews that were never released to the public.

The following press release concerning the case was issued.

SEVENTH INVESTIGATING GRAND JURY IN LEHIGH COUNTY TO REVIEW 1983 DEATH OF NEW YORK WOMAN

Lehigh County District Attorney James B. Martin has directed that evidence in the 1983 death of Nancy L. Argentino of New York be presented to the Seventh Investigating Grand Jury.

Argentino, 23, of Brooklyn, N.Y., died on May 11, 1983, in Allentown.

District Attorney Martin has issued the following statement regarding the death:

“Several months ago, I was contacted by the surviving sisters of Nancy L. Argentino, who died under unusual circumstances. I directed Chief Deputy District Attorney Charles F. Gallagher III to conduct a preliminary review of the investigative file and any and all evidence that was gathered over the past 30 years by the lead Detective, former Whitehall Township Detective and now Lehigh County Detective Gerald Procanyn, and others.

“Chief Deputy District Attorney Gallagher has recommended that the District Attorney’s Office utilize the power and resources of the current Investigating Grand Jury in this matter.

Accordingly, I directed that the circumstances surrounding the death of Nancy L. Argentino, and all evidence related thereto, be presented to the Seventh Investigating Grand Jury, which is currently empanelled.

“Grand Jury proceedings are a time-consuming process, and it will take months before the Grand Jury concludes its work on this case.

“Under the Investigating Grand Jury Act, 42 Pa.C.S.A. §4541 et seq., the proceedings of the Grand Jury are secret and may not be disclosed. Accordingly, I will have no further comment on this matter until the Investigating Grand Jury concludes its work.”

Jim Cornette Speaks Out On Triple H, Vince Russo, The State Of TNA, Owen Hart & British Bulldog

Legendary manager and wrestling personality, Jim Cornette recently returned to WGD Weekly with Steve and the Scum, sitting down for a very entertaining, hour long interview, where he discussed his time alongside some of the most memorable personalities in wrestling history as a manager, as well as the years he spent working creatively in the WWF, WCW, SMW, and OVW.

Cornette told many entertaining tales from his years in the industry spanning from his time as a photographer in Memphis all the way up through the present day and his thoughts (or lack thereof) on the current WWE product. Highlights from Cornette’s return to WGD Weekly include him speaking on:

Triple H and his involvement in the current WWE product: “…Well, I would love to give you an opinion, but I am clean and sober from WWE programming for several years now, and I do read what is going on, but it seems like it’s more of the same. In my opinion, he was never the star, he was always the guy that worked with the guy that drew the money, and he continues to push his boring self down the people’s throats. You know, what more can I say, I haven’t seen it first hand, but at least he got a haircut…”

Vince Russo’s time writing TV for WWF, WCW, and TNA: “…I had to spend eleven months in the same room with Vince Russo and Vince McMahon, that’s where I really got to hate life in general…they put Bruce (Prichard) in the office and put Russo on the writing team. At first, it was sort of like the Donald Pleasence line in the original Halloween, ‘For the first six years, I tried to reach him, and then I spent the next eight trying to make sure that he would never escape being locked up. Because what I saw behind those eyes was pure and simple evil.’ For the first few months I thought, ‘ok, he is a nice, energetic guy, who doesn’t know anything about wrestling, we’re going to try to teach him. Then I figured out he didn’t want to learn, because he though he knew what the f@*k he was doing and that we were all crazy…and that he wasn’t ever going to learn anything about wrestling and didn’t want to. Then, I made it my life’s mission to somehow keep anything that he did from actually seeing the light of day to the detriment of the wrestling business. Finally it got to the point, where all we did was argue with each other…But, Russo’s problem, besides the fact that he is from New York and he’s the worst stereo type of just an obnoxious Yankee is also that he was not a wrestling fan. He watched wrestling and liked angles and liked gimmicks. He wasn’t enough of a wrestling fan to watch and understand that all those things he saw as a child, like Piper hitting Jimmy Snuka with a coconut or whatever, those things happened every few months and then you followed up on them, so they made sense when you did them because you told the story leading up to them, telling why these people would do these things. All Russo would remember, because he had the attention span of a f@*king junkie with a clicker on a morphine drip, was the actual incidents themselves, so he wanted to write two hour television shows full of people hitting people over the head with coconuts, and f@8cking he loved the Jerry Springer show and he thought that the wrestling fan’s IQ was that of a flea and there attention span was like his, and all they wanted to see was mayhem and carnage. He didn’t believe in baby faces and heels, because there is no such thing as good people and bad people, everybody knows that, f@*cking idiot. So, he put matches together where people didn’t know who to cheer, they didn’t know whose side, who was on. In TNA when he didn’t have Vince McMahon to edit him and calm him down, it was even worse. That was when you would see those Impact’s, where people would be screaming at each other and then it would go to people brawling in the arena, to people brawling backstage by the dressing room trailers, to women brawling in the f@*cking bathroom, to more people screaming at each other and by the end of the show, you didn’t know what the f@*ck had gone on and you didn’t care about anybody…That was the problem, Russo remembered all the highlights, in his little pea brain that he had seen growing up in wrestling, but he didn’t understand how they were done, why they were done, how they were led up to and how they were followed up on. So, as a result, all you got was the trailer for the movie. You can make a really good one minute trailer out of a really stinky two hour movie…that’s been proven. But he didn’t know how to write the movie, he only knew how to write the trailer and that was his biggest problem…So, Russo pretty much had a cup of coffee in the WWF, where he had a few good ideas and took credit for everything else. He then followed that up by bankrupting the most well-funded wrestling company in the history of the world and then he destroys Vince McMahon’s only competition to the point that a lot of people in TNA at points in time thought that Vince McMahon was still paying Vince Russo to not come back to the WWF…”

Working alongside and constantly being ribbed by Owen Hart and the British Bulldog: “…You know Owen and Davey together, Davey Boy Smith, they were like two children. They just had to top each other. We would be doing promos, we would be standing there in front of the camera and all of a sudden I’d look to the left of me and Owen all of a sudden was two inches taller than both me and Davey, and we were all sort of the same height. You would look down and he would be standing on a roll of duct tape. Then you look over and Bulldog would be about three inches taller and he’d be standing on a box. Then I’d look down because I’d feel something and while we were standing there staying concentrated on the camera, Owen had one of those spray bottles and he would spray the front of my pants, so it would look like I had pissed myself on camera…If Owen or Davey, either one if they came to you and gave you a million dollars, you’d be looking for the printing press. It had to be a rib. It got to the point where they ribbed so much, that nobody would believe anything…”

Jokes about the current state of TNA Wrestling: “…You know they are changing their website, you haven’t heard about this? You haven’t heard about TNA changing their website? Instead of TNAWrestling.com it is going to be TNAWrestling.org because it’s a non-profit organization. Actually they have come up with a new strategy for 2014, Dixie keeps teasing these big, major ideas. She finally hit on a genius idea that I think is going to turn TNA around in 2014. Starting on the first, they are going to let all of the fans in the shows for free and charge them to get out…”

A memorable WCW booking meeting run by Jim Herd: “…The best stupid idea that Jim Herd had, there is so many of them that we could go on and on, but the best one I ever heard was when he wanted to introduce the team of the Hunchbacks. I’m sitting there in a room, and Flair had already quit as booker and I was shortly after to follow, but I was still there. I was sitting there in a room, with Jim Barnett, Jim Ross, Jim Herd, Kevin Sullivan, myself, Jody Hamilton, Terry Funk may or may not have been there, and Ole Anderson. So, Jim Herd goes off on this ten minute soliloquy of how he has come up with the greatest idea for a tag team ever, the Hunchbacks. ‘They got the big hump on their back, you know, and ya’ get ‘em in there and ya’ can’t pin ‘em, because they got the hump on their back. So, they are an unbeatable tag team and that’s how we’ll sell ‘em, you can’t beat these guys, because they’ve got humps on their backs.’ He was deadly serious, because remember, the Ding Dongs made it to television and that was Herd, so he was deadly serious about this. Finally, Ole let him get it all out of his system, and Ole, bless him, wrestling’s cantankerous old man. He says, ‘All right, Jim, you book the Hunchbacks, build them up, they’re undefeated. Then you book them with me and Arn. As soon as I tag in, I’m going to take one of them down, I’m going to slap an arm bar on him and I’m going to make him submit. He is going to give up. I just beat your unbeatable team.’ ‘Well, god dammit, Ole, you know what I mean!’… Thankfully, the Hunchbacks did not make their appearance in WCW, but by the time Herd got finished with WCW it wouldn’t have really mattered anyway…”
