Rob Van Dam Talks Current Relationship With WWE, Whether He Was Contacted For The Brand Split

Will Rob Van Dam return to WWE?

RVD hasn’t wrestled for WWE in over two years, which has naturally left fans wondering whether he’s already had his last match for Vince McMahon’s organization.

This morning on Twitter, the 45-year-old responded to a fan question asking whether he will ever return to WWE:

RVD addressed his current relationship with WWE last week while speaking to Sean Waltman on the X-Pac 1,2,360 podcast.

His current relationship with WWE and 2013/2014 stints:

I have a deal now with them, just like [Chris] Jericho, where I can do short term deals. I did a three-month deal and still did sixty-six matches in ninety days, and then the traveling. So then the next time I went back I spread it out a little more, was doing mostly just TVs and that was over five months. It was like eighty matches, or eighty-eight. Me and Jericho have the same deal but I don’t have the ambition that he does. He likes being there a lot. I mean, I really like not being on the road. A lot of celebrities are afraid of being out of sight, out of mind. I’m the complete opposite. I’ve always been trying to do as little as possible and I’m getting better at it all the time.

Did WWE reach out to him for the brand split?

No, I haven’t heard from them since, it’s almost been a year actually. It was last October when we talked, and it really wasn’t a good time for me to go out on the road. I had personal stuff that I was going through. But there’s always a dollar amount that makes it worthwhile, you know what I mean? But the amount that would’ve made it worth it for me to go out and work wouldn’t have been worth it for them and what they were thinking, and so that just didn’t work out, which was good because I really wasn’t wanting to do it then. And also I might’ve scared them away with the number it would’ve taken to make it worth my while. So no, I really haven’t even talked to them.

WWE Releases Another Female Talent From NXT

It was reported earlier today that WWE released Sara Lee, who won Tough Enough last year. Lee was not the only female talent from NXT let go in recent days as SquaredCircleSirens.com has also confirmed the release of Carolyn “CJ” Dunning.

Hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada, Dunning is a former Air Force ROTC member and nationally ranked bodybuilding bikini competitor by The National Physique Committee. She was among a class of 10 recruits that began training at the WWE Performance Center in April.

Former WWE Star Justin Gabriel Breaks Both Of His Ankles In Accident Outside Of The Ring (Photos)

PJ Black, who wrestled as Justin Gabriel in WWE, broke both of his ankles on Saturday in a BASE jumping accident in his native South Africa (BASE jumping is parachuting or wingsuit flying from a fixed structure or cliff).

Black was in the country to work a match today against local wrestler Ananzi for World Wrestling Professionals in what was billed as his homecoming. Despite the injury, he still planned on attending the event to meet with fans.

WWE Cuts Tough Enough Winner Sara Lee

After winning Tough Enough last year, Sara Lee has been released from her contract with WWE.

ProWrestlingSheet.com reports that Lee was cut on Friday. There’s no word at this point on why she was let go by the company.

Lee beat out hundreds, if not thousands, of other women last year to earn one-year contract with WWE worth $250,000. She made her in-ring debut in January, but had only competed sparingly since. She was never introduced on NXT television.

Mandy Rose, who was the runner-up, was instantly signed to a contract and cast on the last season of Total Divas. She’s since made a few appearances on NXT television.

The male winner of Tough Enough, Josh Bredl, has yet to debut on television. He has been making sporadic appearances at non-televised NXT live events in Florida, but hasn’t wrestled in nearly three months.

Is Luke Harper Joining Raw Or SmackDown?, Stephanie McMahon Turns 40-Years-Old

– Luke Harper will be returning to the ring soon after suffering a severe injury to his knee during a match last March. He has been training at the WWE Performance Center in preparation for his return and it was reported on Monday that he was backstage at Raw.

It is now known which show Harper will appear on after not being selected in the WWE Draft. According to F4WOnline.com, he is being advertised for upcoming Raw events.

Harper opened up on the injury in an interview in May, where he revealed that he dislocated his patella and tore his medial patellofemoral ligament.

– Stephanie McMahon is celebrating a milestone birthday today as she turns 40-years-old. The WWE Chief Brand Officer and Raw Commissioner acknowledged her 40th with this post on social media.

Jim Ross On Alberto Del Rio and Paige Relationship Rumors, CM Punk’s UFC Debut This Saturday

In his latest blog entry on jrsbarbq.com, Jim Ross offers his thoughts on recent rumors regarding Alberto Del Rio and Paige’s relationship, CM Punk’s debut fight this Saturday at UFC 203, the WWE Network, and more. Highlights are as follows:

CM Punk’s UFC debut this Saturday against Mickey Gall:

Doing a great deal of MMA related media the past few days to discuss the upcoming UFC debut of former WWE star CM Punk this Saturday on PPV. Punk has an uphill struggle considering that he;s never fought in this environment before but I’d never count him out especially when one factors in the 4 ounce glove element. To create a buzz, perhaps Punk should actually embrace his pro wrestling legacy this week, instead of knocking it as some perceive, as many MMA fans will buy the PPV to see Punk get hammered Saturday night while Punk’s wrestling fans will buy to hopefully see Punk win.

UFC was strategic in signing Punk as his presence will enhance what appears to otherwise be a not so special PPV event. I’m certainly going to buy the show.

Bottom line is that Punk’s WWE created celebrity and the curiosity element will likely lead to a decent number of PPV buys Saturday night in Cleveland.

Recent rumors regarding Alberto Del Rio and Paige:

Personal relationships within the pro wrestling business are daunting. I’ve said that for years. Most ‘pro wrestling romances’ aren’t successful over the long haul but the point is that no company will ever have any success in legislating such. I’m not sure that any companies are attempting to intervene, namely WWE and the Alberto Del Rio/Paige relationship. I’m not a believer of every internet rumor that I read nor do I think that WWE would condone such interactions with staff and talents.

It’s impossible to dictate personal relationships in any business especially when those in question are independent contractors. If Paige is totally committed in her personal life with ADR, and which she has the right to pursue, I’d be surprised if she returns to WWE any time soon.

Hope I’m wrong as it relates to the apparent, troubled careers of both talents.

WWE Hall Of Famer Sunny and Ex-TNA Knockout Clash On Social Media Over Pregnancy Photos

WWE Hall of Famer Tammy “Sunny” Sytch and former TNA Knockout Brooke Adams are going at it on social media.

On Friday, Adams took exception to remarks Sytch recently made on Facebook about women posting “disgusting” pregnancy photos and responded with the following.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BJCD97EjqCH/

On Saturday, Sytch got word of Adams’ rant and went off on her on Facebook.

I love when people get tough behind a computer… No guts to say anything to your face. When you have a WWE Hall of Fame ring, you’ll have room to talk. Until then, when you work for a second rate company that can’t even run house shows because they suck so bad and are on some obscure cable network, shut your mouth. It’s nothing for me to choke a horse-faced bitch out.

FOR THE RECORD: about a MONTH ago, I posted that I thought that pregnant women should keep their naked pregnancy pics private. I DID NOT name ANYONE or single anyone out. It was a generalized statement. Well, last night, a certain Former TNA girl took it upon herself to take offense to it and call me out in a very nasty rant. Ok, you have courage behind your keyboard. YOU are in the wrong here. I never even SAW your photos. Good for you. You’re pregnant. You’re proud of it. There must be SOME INSECURITY though if you took my generalized statement and made it directed at you. Grow the fuck up. You’re kid will need an adult to look up to. Not some horse-faced bitch that acts like a child. You may have just started a war that , believe me, you don’t want to battle..

Shortly thereafter, Adams responded to Sytch on Facebook.

For my fans I apologize again you have to even see this side of me. And honestly it’s no way to talk or act. I am 100% not leading by example with any of this. It solves nothing. But sometimes you have to talk like trash to get through to the trash. She obviously has zero class so this is the best way to get my point through that ignorant head of hers. Sometimes standing up for yourself and a mass of people such as other mommies is more important than keeping your mouth shut to save face. Like I said in my last post its woman like yourself that cause other woman to hide from the real world during one of the most challenging and should be most rewarding time of their lives (pregnancy) and go into serious depression because they don’t feel beautiful or accepted anymore. You should be ashamed. You aren’t a mother so you’ll never understand. You’ll never be able to grasp what I am even saying.

Sunny if I ever saw you in person trust me Id be glad to say it all to your face. This has nothing to do with being “tough” through a computer. I have zero relationship with you and will never come in contact with you so this is how I will have my voice heard. You bash all new younger talent because you’re just an ate up jealous hag so why not a pregnant woman next right? And weren’t you the “tough” one first bashing me for being a proud soon to be mom without actually saying my name? At least I have the balls to state the direction of my message so I can be sure you know it’s for you sweet cheeks. I wouldn’t expect that from you tho..we all know how weak you are because most of your nights end looking down an empty pill bottle, a needle in your arm, or with some random dick in your ass for $5. And that Hall of Fame ring you have ….the one you want to try and throw in my face as if it’s some value to your worth …what happened to it?? oh yea you sold it . Something that you should have cherished and been proud to keep. The only real thing you ever accomplished you sold. Something that should have never had a price tag on it. That’s how pathetic you are. And for the record I don’t care who you are or if you actually had real accompaniments it doesn’t give you a free pass at being an asshole and disrespecting other woman. You can bash my wrestling career all you want. It legit has zero affect on me. My life has never revolved around it and it’s doesn’t pay my bills. My life is so much more than that. Wrestling and my wrestling career doesn’t define me. It’s simply a chapter in my life and something I enjoyed doing. Did you even wrestle?? I can’t seem to remember a single match. Interesting thought right? lol…But hey keep begging for money and selling your old vagina for cheap porno flicks because the ONLY thing you have accomplished in this world is being in the Hall of Fame. So you’re worthless to society. Most people are clueless to who you even are especially from this generation. The only exception to those who remember are the few from 20 yrs ago who buy your Skype videos . I imagine they must be lining up for you. So yea keep holding on to the one tiny thing you have left with no ring to even show for it . You have zero relevance whatsoever. You should actually send me a thank you card for giving you this much attention lol lol. My biggest piece of advice is to just be happy. Lord wake up and care about getting your own life together. Stop worrying about what everyone else around you does. Stop always trying to knock someone else down for what they are proud of or for their accomplishments. Your life will never be fulfilled when it revolves around bashing other strong, confident, happy women who inspire so many others. Learn to love yourself. It’s obvious you don’t.

Feel free to bash back but this will be my last comment on the subject. Done rolling in the mud with pigs. I’ve got bigger things to worry about…like if my national geographic boobs will ever go back to normal and what level my pregnant gas will be at this afternoon.

Lilian Garcia Speaks Out On Her Departure From WWE, Life Struggles, Chris Benoit & More (Video)

In her first interview since announcing her decision to leave WWE last week, Lilian Garcia appeared on The Tomorrow Show on Monday night.

During the revealing interview, Garcia opened up about her decision to leave WWE, her father’s cancer, and various struggles in life. She also reflected on her 15-year career with WWE, and shared memories on Vince McMahon, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock, Chyna, Owen Hart, Chris Benoit, The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Trish Stratus and many more.

Highlights from the interview are as follows:

Her decision to leave WWE:

Being at WWE is no longer an option. Being on road, skipping work, that’s never been me… you just can’t call in sick or take a leave of absence there, it just doesn’t happen. So it’s the right time for me to be gone from WWE for sure. I can spend way more time with him which is priceless.

Lilian said her dad feels guilty about her departure from WWE and that she misses it tremendously:

My dad feels really super guilty about this. He feels like everything that’s done, he feels like, I mean I’ve been at WWE for 15. So he’s feeling so bad and so responsible for this because I missed work for so many days and because I’m not there and I just keep telling him, I want to be here, I want to be here for you. And I can’t even imagine being on the road right now. If I was still there, my heart. I would literally take off and be on a plane and be like “what the hell I shouldn’t be on a plane right now.” I want to enjoy every second I can with him. So I’m glad I’m not there for that reason. I miss the fans tremendously, I miss the show, I miss everybody I work with. I wish I would’ve even gotten to say goodbye, I didn’t even get to say goodbye. It was just these decisions that were happening so quick and everything. But I do have to say one thing. WWE fans are incredible.

Will she ever return to WWE?

I have a love and a passion for WWE. And I received such beautiful e-mails from Vince, from Stephanie, from Triple H and just saying the door’s always open… we’ve all had such a great relationship over the years. If they were to call me to do something special…totally. I’d be all over it. It’s just a place that has really been good to me, and has been a wild ride.

Owen Hart’s tragic accident:

He passed away from an accident from what I understand he was going from his cape… But when he went for his cape the release button right here (point to shoulder) is right here too, from what I understand, so he hit the release on it and that’s why he went down…he was trying to adjust his cape, and the release latch was right there and so that’s why it released… So that was a total freak accident that happened.

Chyna’s backstage beef with her:

All of a sudden I hear ‘excuse me you’re in my way, you’re right in my way, like you’ve stood right in my way,’ and I look back and it’s Chyna. She was looking at herself from afar and I just kinda swooped right in and started doing this, not noticing that she was back there trying to get the, you know, the perspective. So I was just like oh my gosh I’m so sorry…that was 17 years ago.

Chyna apologizing to her:

One day after a few weeks I don’t remember exactly when, she looked at me she goes ‘I want to apologize to you, I want to apologize for the way that I have treated you, that I was kind of cold, I thought you were just like every other girl that just wants to be famous and just comes here and doesn’t really respect the business and I know you weren’t from, you know, didn’t grow up in the business and so I didn’t really give you a shot and I just am really sorry.’ And that was so big and so awesome and ever since that day we just had a great relationship.

Why she didn’t reach out during Chyna’s struggle with addiction:

I knew that she was in trouble when she left WWE but I didn’t feel like I could reach out to her because I didn’t feel like I was close enough and had been involved in her life to reach out in that way, and when you are dealing with an addiction, thats something way over my head.

Chris Benoit’s murder-suicide:

I remember that that day we were told that they were going to do a tribute show, and they said just go back to your hotel rooms and we’ll regroup tomorrow to do ‘Smackdown’. So, I’ll never forget that the four people — the three other people I was with that night were Victoria, Ric Flair and Rowdy Roddy Piper…we found a way to come together and really we really figured it out that WWE is a family…I knew Chris for seven years. Never expected that from him at all–ever.

The day she found out she couldn’t get pregnant, Candice Michelle called to tell her that she was pregnant:

The day that I found out that I couldn’t have a child was the day that Candice Michelle called me to tell me she was pregnant… She’s like ‘I got some great news!’ and she tells me she’s pregnant. I literally hold the phone like this and just tears streaming down my face. I couldn’t tell her that I couldn’t have a child. No way would I ruin her moment…I don’t think I’ve ever even told her. So she might hear about this. And we’ve stayed close since but I never wanted to ruin that moment for her.

Eddie Guerrero’s premature death is why she celebrates her birthday:

I remember Eddie Guerrero, he passed away at 39, and he didn’t make it to forty. So all of a sudden, I was just like ‘wait a minute, here’s someone who didn’t make it to their next birthday.’ So when I did, I was celebrating to no end. I was like this is crazy not to celebrate.

If WWE should offer therapy:

It wouldn’t have been a bad idea to have some kind of therapist to go “ok, so this has been your lifestyle and now here’s how I can help you transition into that.” So I think it’s a great idea and I’m all about therapy.

Being approached by a competing wrestling company during her two year hiatus from the WWE:

I was approached to join another company and I was like, ‘Well, I appreciate it, so much, but I didn’t leave to go jump and do another wrestling company because WWE for me has just been great.’

Having an eating disorder:

I struggled with eating disorder for many many years, I was bulimic. And I finally was like ‘okay.’ 15 times in one day I threw up. That’s when the frickin’ light went off on me and I went ‘okay I need help.’

Botch during an Undertaker match:

The Undertaker is having a match, oh my gosh, and I remember Edge was involved in the match and I believe it was a tag team, and I think Umaga was a part of that as well… the referee, I thought, counted to three so I rang the bell. All four of them turned and looked at me like ‘WHAT!?’

WWE Teases The Returns Of Former Superstars, Sasha Banks Pulled From Upcoming Event

WWE.com put together a list of 10 of “the hottest” free agents on the market right now and a few former Superstars are mentioned, including Mickie James.

Do Raw and SmackDown Live have James on the brain?

New blood has invigorated the Women’s division in WWE, but few would argue that seeing a veteran like Mickie James come to Raw or SmackDown Live to square off with the likes of Sasha Banks, Charlotte or Becky Lynch wouldn’t be a sight to behold.

The list also includes The Rock, The Undertaker, Nikki Bella, The Brian Kendrick, Bayley, Cryme Tyme, Carlito, The Great Khali and Tajiri.

– Sasha Banks has been pulled from her scheduled appearance at the Wizard World Chicago Comic Con in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, on Aug. 18. Bayley will take her place. Click here for details on her schedule.

– A preview of Disney’s 3D computer-animated film Moana with The Rock voicing a lead character will air during NBC’s coverage of the Olympics on Sunday night.

Booker T To Miss Tonight’s Raw Pre-Show After Being Hospitalized

Booker T will not be on tonight’s Raw Pre-Show after being hospitalized over the weekend.

His wife, former WWE Diva Sharmell, revealed on her Instagram account that he was hospitalized over the weekend and is currently recovering at home. She did not, however, offer an explanation for his hospital stay.

It would appear that his hospitalization led him to announce on Saturday that he would no longer perform the Spinaroonie.

Heath Slater Injured At WWE Live Event On Saturday Night (Photo)

WWE announced this morning that Heath Slater was injured at Saturday night’s WWE Live Event in Bangor, Maine when a gash developed over his right eye during a match against Titus O’Neil. The contest was immediately stopped and O’Neil was declared the winner.

WWE ringside physician Dr. Stephen Daquino, who treated Slater, relayed the following to WWE.com: “Heath has a six centimeter laceration above his right eye. It was quite open, right down to the bone. He got 18 sutures and hopefully that will close it up.”

After the show, Slater tweeted a photo of the gash.

Christy Hemme Says Politics Kicked Her Out Of WWE, Compares Triple H To Hulk Hogan

During an in-studio interview with Keven Undergaro on The Tomorrow Show, Christy Hemme spoke out on a wide range of topics including her departure from WWE and why she always travels with a Trish Stratus action figure. The former WWE and TNA performer also offered her opinion on various people she’s worked with over the years.

Highlights from the interview (listen to it here) are as follows:

Christy says Triple H gives to everyone while Hulk Hogan is more about himself:

Hulk is great for Hulk. Triple H is great for business. You know, as far as like, bringing people in, bringing people up…he was always giving to the people…Hulk is like an icon and he is legendary and he is building his own brand.

Christy reveals two sure fire ways to tell if a wrestler has “it” and why Sasha Banks does:

There’s two things, there’s a feeling. And that’s something you cannot explain. Like, there’s a feeling you get from her when you watch her in the ring, and that, that’s the that “it” factor, right? That’s like, Wow! Like, you know you get little butterflies like in your heart for what she does. Right? And then the second thing is, you know, I always can see the difference between somebody that’s really in it, and not in it with their in between movements. So people do a big move, they do a move, they do a move, all those in-betweens, like in between the moves, where are they? What are they doing? Are they really there? So it’s believable when you see like, like as a piece of art…she’s a feeler. She’s really there, she’s really being.

Why Gail Kim would beat Awesome Kong in a TNA Knockouts shoot fight:

Everything comes down to passion I think that that wins, and she is probably the most passionate when I picture, as far as being in the ring and physically going.

Why Jacqueline Moore would win in a WWE women shoot fight:

She is someone that will put you in your place. She is very strong. She is, she’s amazing. She is really good…You don’t want to mess with her. You don’t. You just don’t.

What it’s really like to work with Stephanie McMahon:

I really love her. She is so poised and so powerful and as a female…She had worked on a couple of my segments and I was always lost when she was talking to me in the moments because she is really one of those people that she’s a really good producer…She’s really good at connecting and pulling something out of you that she’s looking for…but she’s softer in like, she’s a warm person. She’s a strong person but she’s a warm person and she’s passionate about the females so she’s always fighting for them.

How “politics” kicked her out of WWE

They asked me to move to OVW to train and I was like YES! I get to go train! Like I want to go work hard, I was really excited. And then when I got there, I was there for maybe a week and then I got the call that I was released. And I was heartbroken. Crushed.

When asked why, she responded:

I’m a strong woman that lives by my morals, and if you ask me to do something that’s not within my morals I will say no. So once I put that you know line down, that’s when I got the axe…It was one specific incident, so I’m just gonna leave it at that, cause I don’t need to go into details…It was not a wrestling related risque thing, I did Playboy…it’s just behind the scenes, politics, politics.

Christy shares a funny story about Victoria/Tara being nude in the TNA locker room:

They had hired all of these young girls, like millennials to come in and be on the show and there was like, 8 of them, right? And in the locker room, I walk in and they’re all standing around somebody and everybody’s laughing and I’m like “what is happening” and they’re going crazy, and I see Lisa (Tara/Victoria), in the middle of them, spinning around like this, I’m like ‘what are you doing?’ she’s like ‘I just feel so young.’

Carrying a Trish Stratus action figure in her suitcase:

When I was going through the Diva Search, I had one of her action figures and I kept it in my suit case and it was like my good luck charm right…She’s done so much in this business and she definitely knows how to build a brand and she’s done very well. And so yeah, who doesn’t aspire to be powerful like that.

Brock Lesnar Responds To Potential Anti-Doping Violation, Mark Hunt Issues Ultimatum

Brock Lesnar has responded to news of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected prior to his fight against Mark Hunt at UFC 200.

In a brief statement provided exclusively to The Associated Press, Lesnar said, “We will get to the bottom of this.”

The Associated Press also received copies of three letters from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency to Lesnar informing the fighter that he had passed tests on three samples submitted over a nine-day period in mid-June.

Having lost to Lesnar at UFC 200, Hunt said he has asked UFC President Dana White for half of Lesnar’s record $2.5 million guaranteed purse or to be released from his contract effective immediately.

“They say they are trying to clean up the sport, but it doesn’t feel like it,” Hunt told MarkHunt.TV. “The UFC is basically saying if you cheat you won’t be penalized.”

He continued, “This is the third time I’ve had to fight a cheater in my career. The other two times I didn’t ask for compensation, but this is the third time and I’m sick of them getting away with cheating. I’ve told Dana that I want a release from the UFC if they don’t sort this out.”

WWE Issues Statement On Brock Lesnar’s Potential Anti-Doping Policy Violation; Is He Still Wrestling At SummerSlam?

After UFC issued a statement Friday saying Brock Lesnar was notified by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected on June 28, his status with WWE immediately came in to question. As such, the organization issued the following brief statement on the company website and to various members of the media.

Brock Lesnar has not performed for WWE since WrestleMania and is not scheduled to return until Sunday, Aug. 21.

While it remains unclear whether WWE will discipline Lesnar, their statement indicates that he is still scheduled to face Randy Orton at SummerSlam on August 21 in Brooklyn, New York.

Brock Lesnar Flagged For Potential Anti-Doping Policy Violation, UFC Issues Statement

WWE Superstar and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar has been informed by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected on June 28, 2016.

The UFC announced the following Friday night on its official website:

The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Brock Lesnar of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection on June 28, 2016. USADA received the testing results from the June 28, 2016 sample collection from the WADA-accredited UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory on the evening of July 14, 2016.

USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. The Nevada State Athletic Commission also retains jurisdiction over this matter as the sample collection was performed in close proximity to Lesnar’s bout at UFC 200 in Las Vegas.

Consistent with all previous potential anti-doping violations, additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.

This news comes six days after Lesnar made a successful return to MMA at UFC 200, defeating Mark Hunt by unanimous decision.

Chris Jericho On Why There Isn’t “Stupid Idiot” Merchandise, Social Media’s Impact on Wrestling

Don’t expect WWE to release any merchandise featuring Chris Jericho’s oft-used phrase “stupid idiot.”

“I have a real rule that when I’m heel I don’t want the WWE selling my merchandise,” the WWE Superstar said during an interview with Fansided.com promoting The Jericho Network on PodcastOne.

“I don’t want someone in the crowd wearing a shirt with that phrase and thinking it’s funny when it’s supposed to be an insult. I still have enough old school in me that I don’t want people wearing my slogans or phrases that are supposed to be booing me. Does it really matter? Probably not. But it’s one of those things to me that it does matter. Maybe it will piss you off that there are no shirts out there so it will make you boo or hate me more.”

Jericho, who has had an online presence since his time in WCW in the late 1990s, was asked if social media has helped the progression of professional wrestling.

“To me it doesn’t really matter. It’s the way of the world now and you have to adapt. I don’t think the world is better. Growing up in my era things were magical as you didn’t know wrestling wasn’t fully legit. You were watching stories unfold as they were meant to do. Same thing going to a movie. I don’t want to read the plot line before I go because I want to see what the director’s way that he wanted. One of my favorites things to do but also least favorite things to do is look up a band’s set list while they are on tour. But it was sure a lot more fun when you didn’t know if your favorite song was going to play,” Jericho said.

“I don’t know if social media has hurt wrestling. But I think it has created a certain sense of entitlement to a certain part of the fan base. They think they should know everything and it eliminates that magical sense. Like when I return and nobody knows about it, I like that. I pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes and it’s getting harder and harder to do these days.”

Jericho also discussed the process of launching his podcast network, his current run in WWE, and Fozzy. Check out the interview here.

Alberto Del Rio Explains Why He Didn’t Sign With TNA After Being Released By WWE

During a promotional tour of India this past week, Alberto Del Rio revealed why he didn’t join TNA after being released by WWE in 2014.

“At the end of the day you can love what you do, but you have to be rewarded. If somebody wants to have me in their organization, they have to pay me, and there is no other place like WWE, which is a major league of progress and growth. TNA does not have the wherewithal as WWE does,” he said in an interview with The Indian Express, which is titled “I didn’t sign up with TNA because they can’t pay.”

Del Rio was also asked about Indian native and former WWE Superstar The Great Khali.

“I know who Khali is. We worked together in WWE. It is just we were never friends, and hence I have no interest in meeting or seeing him or even talk to him,” he said.

Sunny Reveals Her Plans After Getting Out Of Rehab

Tammy Sytch (a/k/a Sunny), who recently completely a long stint in a rehabilitation program sponsored by WWE, plans to get back to work in front of a webcam.

The WWE Hall of Famer claimed to TMZ Sports that during her stint in rehab, she received more than 5,000 emails from fans requesting “some private time” on Skype. The 43-year-old charges $100 for 10 minutes in front of the webcam.

Fans can still see Sytch in person as she is ready to hit the road. The former WWE Diva says she’s scheduled for convention appearances and that she will be “sober this time.”

Sytch posted the following on Monday on Facebook regarding her long stint in rehab — at $40,000 per month, which WWE covered for the final two months.

Just to clear up any assumptions or speculations, yes, I have been in rehab for alcohol for the past 95 days. I chose to go on my own accord after having the worst relapse I’ve ever had in June of 2015. I have done a few rehabs prior, for a month at a time, and trust me, a month is not enough, So this time I gave it 3 months. And it was the best decision I ever made. The people at Retreat at Lancaster County in PA and Mountainside Treatment Center in CT gave me the courage, strength and hope to change my life for the better. The last three months have been filled with counseling, yoga, mediation, hikes, camp-outs, ropes courses, Equine therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Culinary Therapy, Spiritual Enhancement and Religion (yes, I now practice both Christianity and a little Buddhism) — all of this has made me a better person. I had some serious health issues that are now on the mend, and my recent diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is being managed. I am eternally grateful to the 2 treatment centers, my family, friends, fans, and the WWE for all of the support I have gotten. I encourage anyone and everyone who has any type of substance abuse problem to seek help—it’s the best thing you can do, and it will save your life. God Speed and NAMASTE…..

Kane On Whether He’s Considering Retirement At Age 49, Brock Lesnar Fighting At UFC 200

Kane, who will turn 50-years-old next spring, is not thinking about retiring at this point.

“Not really. It’s still fun,” he said when asked about the subject during an appearance on the Like Father, Like Son podcast.

“I have a lot of fun now with the younger guys and just being in the position that I’m in, as more of a mentor at times. I’ve also been very fortunate that I haven’t had many injuries, so my body still feels good. I can’t say it feels as good as it did when I was 25, but it still feels good and I can still do most of the things that I used to be able to do. And I still think that I perform at a high level, even when I’m in there literally against guys that are half my age sometimes. I think they still have to keep up with me.”

He also offered his thoughts on Brock Lesnar fighting at UFC 200.

“I think that’s good for both brands, frankly. Brock Lesnar is one of those guys, like The Rock has done in movies,” said Kane. “Brock has done the same thing in UFC and MMA. He has transcended WWE and that sport, and I think he helps bring UFC and MMA fans into WWE, and vice versa. So anytime someone has crossover appeal like that, I think it’s good for everybody.”

Other topics discussed include Shane McMahon’s return to WWE, Shaquille O’Neal wrestling in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, the upcoming brand extension, various characters he has portrayed (Christmas Creature, Isaac Yankem, DDS and Diesel), working with The Undertaker over the years, his various masks, and more.
