WWE Raw Superstar Confirms Character Change

One member of the WWE Raw roster has spoken out on his recent bizarre backstage segment.

When Veer’s repackaged gimmick debuted on the main roster, he was presented as a dominant force. He was booked as a rising monster who put many performers in the hospital, including Dominik Mysterio.

Suddenly, however, Veer disappeared from WWE TV. He ended up resurfacing on the July 18 episode of Monday Night Raw and what followed was quite unexpected.

Backstage interviewer Sarah Schreiber was set to speak with The Miz when Veer interrupted her. He looked at the camera smiling, then looked at Schreiber.

Veer then said, “Boo!” in a lighthearted manner. He walked off happily and Schreiber looked confused. When The Miz showed up, he suggested that Veer has a crush on Sarah.

Veer Confirms Change

During an interview with The Daily Star, Veer Mahaan confirmed that WWE is showing a different side of his character.

“Why say so much when you can get it done saying so little, right?” he went on to say, having loomed over Schreiber before saying ‘Boo!’ and making an exit.

“If that works, what else do we need? The reaction and support has been great [and] has created a buzz around the world.

“The world hasn’t seen my other side yet. Yes, we’re trying to show the world that Veer Mahaan isn’t just a scary guy that walks around in the ring.

“We’re trying to show our audience that Veer Mahaan is not just a beast and an angry man, he has other sides.

“That’s why the world has got to tune in more to see what’s going to happen next!”

Veer on his character change

Time will tell where this goes but it seems the lighthearted nature that this character change is likely to bring had been expected by WWE fans back in April.

Veer became a meme online after WWE continued promising that he was “coming.” Word in the backstage area was that WWE knew that it became a running joke and stretched it out a bit longer.

This had many believing Veer would debut as a babyface but WWE went with the dominant heel role initially.

Watch What Happened With Chris Jericho After Barbed Wire Everywhere Match at AEW Fyter Fest

The special Fyter Fest night three edition of AEW Dynamite is over with and something went down with Chris Jericho after the show.

This week’s episode of Dynamite ended with a Barbed Wire Everywhere match between Jericho and Eddie Kingston. While Jericho won the match, Kingston got the last laugh on this night (July 20).

Jericho got some assistance from his fellow JAS members after they were let out of the shark cage thanks to Anna Jay turning heel. Anna attacked Ruby Soho and took control of the cage to let the JAS members out.

Eventually, Jericho scored the win over Kingston but he paid the price for it afterward.

Chris Jericho Helped to The Back After Fyter Fest

After the match, Kingston got a hold of Jericho and threw him onto a board covered in barbed wire. Jericho was trapped in the barbed wire as Dynamite ended.

Once Fyter Fest went off the air, Dr. Sampson went to check on Jericho. AEW staff then cut the wire to free Jericho. He was then stretchered out of the building.

The shark cage was then raised as the AEW production team prepared for the July 22 Rampage taping.

Excalibur mentioned on commentary that Eddie Kingston delivered what he had promised despite losing the match.

Time will tell if this feud will continue or if Jericho and Kingston will move on.

AEW Star Turns Heel at Fyter Fest

Another AEW personality has turned over to the dark side.

Wrestlers in the industry are constantly switching things up. Whether it’s a total gimmick overhaul or a change in personality, switch-ups in the business are nothing new.

In the latest turn of events, an AEW talent has turned heel after being a babyface since the faction she had been a part of started to embrace fans for a very special reason.

As time goes on, however, changes are made.

Anna Jay Turns Heel

During the main event of the Barbed Wire Everywhere match to close out night three of Fyter Fest, Tay Conti attacked Ruby Soho. Ruby had been in charge of keeping the Jericho Appreciation Society locked in a Shark Cage during the Eddie Kingston vs. Chris Jericho match.

Anna made her way out and pretended to scold Tay for her actions. Instead, she ended up attacking Ruby and allowed the JAS members to escape the cage.

This heel turn had been teased following a Dynamite match last week between Anna Jay and Serena Deeb. Anna lost the match despite turning in one of the best performances of her career.

In the backstage area, Tay Conti, who is Anna Jay’s close friend, suggested that she joins her in the JAS to turn her misfortune around.

It’s clear that Anna has heeded Tay’s advice.

Anna had been a member of The Dark Order but that is clearly in the rearview mirror now.

Major AEW Star Returns From Injury

The misfortunate for AEW may be turning a corner as a major star has made his return.

This week’s episode of Dynamite is taking place inside Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia. The main event will be a Barbed Wire Everywhere match between Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho.

The Jericho Appreciation Society will be suspended above the ring inside a shark cage.

Also featured on the show at the end of the opening hour of Dynamite was an unannounced return.

Jungle Boy is Back

Since Jungle Boy was put out of commission after suffering an injury at Road Rager, Christian Cage seemed to have manipulated Luchasaurus.

In storyline, Christian injured Jungle Boy with a post-match attack that ended in a Conchairto.

The reality is, Jungle Boy suffered a legit injury during his AEW World Tag Team Title ladder match against The Young Bucks.

While Christian thought he had Luchasaurus under control, it was all a ruse. Jungle Boy returned on the July 20 episode of Dynamite to confront Christian Cage and Luchasaurus did not stand in his way.

Jungle Boy ended up chasing Christian off into the crowd.

Former WWE Superstar Appears on AEW Dynamite

A former WWE superstar made an appearance during the July 20 episode of AEW Dynamite.

It’s no secret that Tony Khan hasn’t been afraid to sign ex-WWE talent if he sees value. This ranges from part-time deals to one-offs, and of course full-time deals.

When it comes to the latest former WWE star to enter the fray, this performer was trying to cut his teeth under the NXT banner before being released.

It seems he’s quickly gotten back on his feet.

Cole Karter Appears on Dynamite

Cole Karter, who had been competing on WWE’s NXT brand as Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan, has surfaced on AEW programming through the Dark show on YouTube.

He has made his way to Dynamite in a pretty big spot.

During a backstage interview, Karter was interrupted by FTW Champion Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs.

Starks issued an open challenge with his FTW gold at stake. Karter accepted the challenge and will challenge Ricky Starks later tonight.

Karter was released by WWE after a policy violation. It was reported that he tested positive for PEDs.

New Gimmick Debuts on WWE TV

A new WWE gimmick has entered the fray.

Earlier this month, it was reported by PWInsider that an NXT tag team would be undergoing a major change. This team, in particular, was due for name changes.

While it wasn’t confirmed at the time, the speculation was that both men would also be receiving significant adjustments to their character as a duo.

There was also speculation that they would be joining a faction.

As it turns out, the report and speculation were correct.

Grizzled Young Veterans The Dyad

During the July 19 episode of WWE NXT, Joe Gacy revealed members of The Dyad for his new stable. Gacy had long been teasing this formation with two druids.

The team is indeed the former Grizzled Young Veterans. The Dyad consists of Jagger Reid (formerly known as James Drake) and Rip Fowler (formerly known as Zack Gibson).

Gacy revealed the new gimmick during a backstage segment.

What this new faction will have in store for the NXT roster remains to be seen but it won’t be long before fans get the answer.

WWE Talent Misses NXT Despite Being Advertised

One WWE NXT star was scheduled to be in action on July 19 but it didn’t happen.

As they say in the wrestling business, “card subject to change.” The recent episode of NXT 2.0 certainly took that approach as a talent had been advertised for the main event but never appeared.

This week’s edition of the developmental show featured a 20-women battle royal match. The winner, who ended up being the returning Zoey Stark, receives an NXT Women’s Championship match down the road.

Fans who expected Sarray to be a part of the match were left disappointed.

Sarray Doesn’t Make Advertised Appearance

WWE had advertised many participants in the battle royal. Zoey Stark wasn’t revealed ahead of the match as she was the big surprise entrant.

One talent who had been advertised but never showed up was Sarray.

There’s no word on whether or not something happened to Sarray at the last minute or if WWE simply changed plans before the match took place.

Sarray has been a key part of the NXT brand. While many have questioned her current character on the show, she is crucial given that her in-ring skills far exceeded that of most of the talent on NXT.

She is vital in helping her fellow prospects get better inside the ring given her experience working at a high level in Japan.

WWE Superstar Makes Return, Earns Championship Opportunity

One WWE superstar is back in action and has punched her ticket to a big title match.

Injuries have been pelting the wrestling industry over the past few months. We’ve seen the likes of Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton go down with injuries that’ll put them out of action for a lengthy period of time.

Injuries didn’t just happen on the main roster as the NXT brand was also hit with a few ailments. One of the key talents who had been shelved was Zoey Stark.

The good news is, Zoey is back.

Zoey Stark Returns

For weeks, WWE was teasing a mystery with a QR code for fans to speculate on who would arrive (or return) to NXT.

That mystery was solved on the July 19 episode of NXT.

Zoey Stark made her return for the 20-women battle royal match. She ended up winning the whole thing, which has earned her a shot at Mandy Rose’s NXT Women’s Championship.

Stark had been out of action due to injury.

There has been a lot of talk over what Zoey’s tag team partner, Io Shirai, will do with her WWE future. Her contract is coming due and it’s been said that she could leave the company if she doesn’t get a main roster spot.

After her triumphant return, Zoey Stark was interviewed for a WWE Digital exclusive.

WWE Management Unhappy With SummerSlam Plans

It appears WWE management isn’t too thrilled with how the 2022 SummerSlam card has shaped up.

The big WWE summer event will be held inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. In the main event, Roman Reigns will put the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship on the line against Brock Lesnar.

That title match will be contested under Last Man Standing rules. This is being billed as Lesnar’s final chance at dethroning Roman.

WWE has heavily teased Money in the Bank briefcase holder Theory cashing in on the winner.

There will also be two women’s world titles matches on the card. Liv Morgan will defend her SmackDown gold against Ronda Rousey, while Becky Lynch will look to take the Raw Women’s Championship from titleholder Bianca Belair.

WWE Not Happy With SummerSlam

WrestleVotes reports that there are those in WWE management who aren’t pleased with the SummerSlam card despite being the ones to put it together.

“In the most WWE of ways, I had a source tell me this morning “they really don’t like the SummerSlam card” ‘They’ being the people who put it together. Um, what?!”

WrestleVotes report on SummerSlam

This year’s SummerSlam event will be taking place on July 30. Here’s how the card is shaping up:

  • WWE Undisputed Universal Title: Roman Reigns (c) vs Brock Lesnar (Last Man Standing Match)
  • WWE SmackDown Women’s Title: Liv Morgan (c) vs Ronda Rousey
  • WWE Raw Women’s Title: Bianca Belair (c) vs. Becky Lynch
  • Seth Rollins vs. Riddle
  • WWE United States Title: Bobby Lashley (c) vs Austin Theory
  • WWE Undisputed Tag Team Titles: The Uso’s (c) vs The Street Profits (Jeff Jarrett is special guest referee)
  • Pat McAfee vs Happy Corbin

Major AEW Star Expected to Return Soon

Top AEW star Kenny Omega appears to be just about ready for a big return.

Omega hasn’t been seen since the post-Full Gear episode of Dynamite last year. He took some time away from the ring to heal from a slew of injuries.

Omega wanted to make sure he got the recovery process right as he has said if he has to go through this again, he’ll likely call it a career.

In the midst of a string of injuries pelting the AEW roster, some great news has surfaced.

Kenny Omega Returning Soon

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful is reporting that Kenny Omega is expected to make his return soon. Sapp notes that the return of “The Best Bout Machine” has changed some plans involving other talent and staff.

It appears Omega’s return is happening sooner than expected.

AEW could certainly use a shot in the arm such as this one. The company has seen the likes of its current world champion CM Punk, Adam Cole, and many others go down with injuries.

The list of talents shelved has been growing and it has forced AEW President Tony Khan to switch up plans multiple times.

In this case, surely changing plans because a top star is returning is much preferred.

Time will tell what date Kenny Omega will be making his big return but perhaps All Out on Sept. 4 is now a possibility.

AEW Star Avoids Serious Injury

One key member of the AEW roster has seemingly avoided being on the shelf again.

If there’s one thing AEW could have less of, it’s injuries. The promotion has been hit with a string of bad luck when it comes to their talent being forced to sit on the sidelines.

The company is currently without its world champion CM Punk. An interim title had to be put in place and that piece of hardware is currently held by Jon Moxley.

Other top stars such as Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, and Jungle Boy have also been bitten by the injury bug. Of course, one of AEW’s biggest stars Kenny Omega has been out since Nov. 2021.

Rey Fenix is Fine Following Injury Scare

There was some concern that yet another member of the AEW roster would be out of commission following the July 15 episode of Rampage.

On the show, Rey Fenix and Penta took on Private Party. While The Lucha Bros won the match, Fenix was noticeably limping as Rampage went off the air.

The issue occurred when Fenix rolled his ankle after an atomic drop.

There is some good news, however, as Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio noted that Rey Fenix appears to be okay following the match.

Fenix did perform after the Rampage show at a special benefit event in Tijuana.

This has to be a sigh of relief for Fenix, who had to miss ring time earlier this year after suffering an arm injury. He avoided any broken bones and was able to return to action quicker than many anticipated.

Watch What Happened With Seth Rollins After WWE Raw Went Off The Air

The July 18 episode of WWE Raw is in the books and here’s what went down once the USA Network broadcast ended.

This episode of the red brand’s show was held inside the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. Featured on the latest edition of Raw was Miz TV with special guest Logan Paul.

There was also a Raw Women’s Championship match between titleholder Bianca Belair and Carmella. Fans also got to see a singles match between AJ Styles and Money in the Bank briefcase holder Theory.

After The Show

Fans in attendance got to see a dark match between Riddle and Seth Rollins once Raw went off the air.

Riddle and Rollins are involved in a feud that will lead to a singles match at SummerSlam. During the July 18 episode of Raw, Rollins attacked Riddle from behind during the KO Show and hit him with The Stomp.

Later on in the night, Seth defeated Ezekiel in singles action.

The feud between Riddle and Rollins began in the buildup to MITB. It has spilled over past that match as Riddle delivered an RKO to Rollins on the July 4 episode of Raw to prevent him from attacking Ezekiel.

Here’s an image of the dark match between Riddle and Rollins.

WWE Raw Superstar Possibly Undergoing Gimmick Change

One WWE superstar on the Raw brand could be having a change in character.

In general, the wrestling industry is full of changes. New gimmicks, attitudes, attire, and entrance music is constantly rolled out. Perhaps no company adjusts characters for better or worse more than WWE.

Fans may have gotten a glimpse at the latest change for a superstar who is seen on the Monday Night Raw show.

In this case, it may be a performer going from having a serious tone, to a more lighthearted character.

Veer Has Change of Heart?

During the July 18 episode of WWE Raw, backstage interviewer Sarah Schreiber was prepared to interview The Miz but she was interrupted by Veer.

While Veer has been presented as a dominant force on TV since April, he showed a more relaxed side this time.

He looked at the camera, smiled, and then said “Boo!” and laughed in a lighthearted manner. He then happily walked off.

When The Miz showed up, he suggested that Veer has a crush on Sarah.

Fans will have to wait and see which direction Veer goes in following this bizarre backstage segment.

Adorable Young WWE Fan Sends Heartwarming Message to Cody Rhodes

Being a performer in the wrestling industry is far from easy but the rewards can be quite special.

Cody Rhodes has been out of action after suffering a torn right pectoral muscle. Despite the injury, he turned in a gutsy performance against Seth Rollins in the main event of Hell in a Cell.

With nearly his entire arm being bruised, Rhodes delivered a classic against Rollins and scored the pinfall.

Unfortunately, Rhodes has been forced on the shelf for a while after undergoing surgery. In the midst of “hard times” is a message that makes the “American Dream” worth it.

Young Fan Wishes Cody Rhodes Well

A young fan attending an episode of Monday Night Raw sent a very special video message to Cody Rhodes.

Rhodes caught wind of the heartwarming message and he has responded.

Rhodes recently appeared on Busted Open Radio and revealed he nearly hemorrhaged during surgery for his torn pec. He admitted that doctors have remained coy on his recovery time as there appears to be a fear that he’ll try to push himself to return sooner than expected.

In a perfect world, Cody Rhodes will be ready for the Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant in early 2023.

Many feel if he can return on time, then Cody could be primed for a world championship match at WrestleMania.

Time will tell if things ultimately pan out that way.

Becky Lynch to Receive Raw Women’s Championship Match at SummerSlam

Becky Lynch has punched her ticket to WWE SummerSlam.

The current Raw Women’s Champion is Bianca Belair. She put her gold on the line against Carmella during the July 18 episode of Monday Night Raw.

Belair successfully defended her title, hitting the KOD on Carmella for the three-count.

Before the title match took place, Becky made her way out and announced that she will challenge for the Raw Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.

This year’s SummerSlam event will take place inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. It’ll be held on July 30.

WWE SummerSlam Card Thus Far

Here’s an updated look at the 2022 WWE SummerSlam card.

  • WWE Undisputed Universal Title: Roman Reigns (c) vs Brock Lesnar (Last Man Standing Match)
  • WWE SmackDown Women’s Title: Liv Morgan (c) vs Ronda Rousey
  • WWE Raw Women’s Title: Bianca Belair (c) vs. Becky Lynch
  • Seth Rollins vs. Riddle
  • WWE United States Title: Bobby Lashley (c) vs Austin Theory
  • WWE Undisputed Tag Team Titles: The Uso’s (c) vs The Street Profits (Jeff Jarrett is special guest referee)
  • Pat McAfee vs Happy Corbin

AEW Talent Stepping Away From Wrestling

One AEW star has decided it’s time to take a step back from the wrestling industry.

For some wrestlers, the industry will always be a part of their identity. Some stars wouldn’t want to do anything other than perform inside the ring. Those talents love the business and would rather perish inside the squared circle than truly retire.

For others, the industry can bring about frustration and resentment. It can get to the point where these performers end up venturing off into a new career path entirely.

The latter appears to be the case with one AEW talent.

A.Q.A Steps Away

A.Q.A, a student of wrestling legend Booker T, had been signed with AEW but she has announced a hiatus from wrestling altogether.

She issued the following statement on social media.

“I want to take this time to say thank you to anyone who has ever cheered for me, supported me, bought merch, had me on your podcast or wrote an article about me. Those who sent loving messages, made fan art, gave me a hug during a meet & greet, or a high-five on my way to and from the ring.

Promoters who booked me, opponents that stood across from me, and my trainers for teaching me everything I know for I wouldn’t have made it this far without all of you.

“At this time, I have decided to step away from professional wrestling for the immediate future.”

A.Q.A announces hiatus from wrestling

“For the past few years, both mentally and physically, I have not been in a great place with wrestling, and silly me, I kept pushing through because I didn’t want to be seen as weak, but it only sucked the fun out of every opportunity I had. I hope during this time I’ll be able to reflect deeply and see what path is best for me.

“Thank you AEW for granting me this time.

“Until I see you all again, much love.”

Time will tell if A.Q.A ever decides to step back into the squared circle. It’ll also be interesting to see if she’ll ever reveal exactly what her frustrations were with the wrestling business.

At just 25 years old, A.Q.A has plenty of time to find something in her life that is fulfilling. If she happens to return to the wrestling world under better circumstances, she’d still have plenty of years ahead as well.

New AEW (or ROH) Faction to be Pushed by Tony Khan

Tony Khan is said to be quite high on a new faction that is debuting on AEW Dark.

Factions in the wrestling business are simply meant to be. There are a ton of legendary stables in the business.

When wrestling fans think of factions, they reminisce on the days when The Four Horsemen ruled the earth, or when the nWo ran roughshod all over WCW.

Today, factions continue to be a key part of the wrestling industry.

You can add another faction to the list of current groups and this one has Tony Khan seeing dollar signs.

Tony Khan Gushes Over New Faction

A stable featuring former WWE NXT star Parker Boudreaux, Ariya Daivari (now Ari Daivari), and Slim J will be making its presence felt on AEW Dark at first.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that Tony Khan is very high on the group, which he’s calling the Trust Busters.

The idea is that Daivari is now rich after his trust came in on July 4.

Meltzer notes that a decision has yet to be made on whether or not this faction will be featured regularly on the AEW brand or ROH.

Boudreaux was released by WWE earlier this year, which came as a surprise as many felt he had big star potential. It was even reported that Edge wanted him to join The Judgment Day stable at one point.

WWE SmackDown Superstar Gets New Entrance Music

One WWE superstar on the SmackDown roster has a brand new theme song.

WWE officials have no problem switching things up when it comes to its characters. This ranges from gimmick overhauls to smaller tweaks in order to see a vision through for a superstar.

This doesn’t just apply to the NXT developmental brand. Superstars on both Raw and SmackDown have undergone numerous changes.

In the case of this young WWE superstar, it’s fresh entrance music.

Raquel Rodriguez Has New Theme Song

Raquel Rodriguez wasn’t featured on the FOX broadcast of the July 15 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. She was, however, in action for a dark match against Sonya Deville before the show went on the air.

When Raquel made her entrance, fans noticed new theme music for the promising star.

WWE has been quick to push Rodriguez as a young prospect on the blue brand. She gave Ronda Rousey all she could handle on her main roster debut.

Rodriguez also competed in the 2022 women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

Take a listen to Raquel Rodriguez’s new theme song below:

What Will Logan Paul Be Doing on WWE Raw?

We now know what Logan Paul is set to do on the July 18 episode of WWE Raw.

This coming episode of the red brand’s show is set to take place inside Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL. Advertised for the show is a Raw Women’s Championship rematch between titleholder Bianca Belair and Carmella.

Also scheduled for the show will be the return of Internet sensation Logan Paul. This will be his first WWE appearance since signing a deal with the company.

Ariel Helwani reported that this is a multi-year deal for multiple dates per year.

Logan Paul on Miz TV

WWE has announced that Logan Paul will be appearing on Miz TV for the upcoming episode of Raw.

The Miz has been in a feud with Paul over what happened following their WrestleMania 38 match. Miz and Paul defeated The Mysterios in their tag team match but Miz attacked Paul afterward with the Skull Crushing Finale.

When it was announced that Paul signed with WWE, Miz claimed that he told Paul the attack was simply a lesson in the business and the two will be on the same page to go after the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championships.

In a series of videos posted on social media, Paul made it clear that he is not on good terms with The Miz and wants to fight him.

Miz recently aligned with Ciampa and has warned Logan to team with him or suffer the consequences. AJ Styles has also been having issues with Miz and Ciampa, so it could lead to a big tag team match at SummerSlam on July 30.

Watch What Happened With Riddle After WWE SmackDown Went Off The Air

The July 15 episode of WWE SmackDown is over and fans got something extra.

This edition of SmackDown took place inside the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. The show featured a non-title match between SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan and Natalya.

The show also saw Money in the Bank briefcase holder Theory go one-on-one with Madcap Moss.

In the main event of the show, Angelo Dawkins took on one-half of the Undisputed Tag Team Champions The Usos. After the match, Jeff Jarrett was announced as the special guest referee for The Usos vs. Street Profits at SummerSlam.

After The Show

Once WWE SmackDown went off the air, there was a dark match between Riddle and Omos.

Riddle ended up winning the match via DQ.

Neither man was seen on the FOX broadcast tonight, so their appearance was exclusive to the fans inside the Amway Center.

Riddle and Omos are officially members of the Monday Night Raw brand. As of late, Omos and MVP have offered their services to The Bloodline.

Meanwhile, Riddle has gotten into a feud with Seth Rollins.

Special Guest Referee for WWE SummerSlam Title Match Revealed

We now know who the special guest referee for a key WWE SummerSlam title match will be.

At this year’s SummerSlam event, WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions The Usos will put their gold on the line against the Street Profits. One stipulation added to the match is that there will be a special guest referee.

During the July 15 episode of SmackDown, that referee was revealed.

Jeff Jarrett Will be Referee for WWE SummerSlam

At the conclusion of the most recent SmackDown show, Adam Pearce announced that Jeff Jarrett will be the official for the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship match at SummerSlam.

The move makes sense for the Nashville area. Jarrett is quite popular in the state of Tennessee. This year’s SummerSlam show will be held inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

After the announcement was made, The Usos and the Street Profits brawled to end the July 15 SmackDown show.

New WWE Character to Debut on SmackDown Next Week

A brand new character will be seen on the July 22 episode of SmackDown.

In the world of wrestling, new gimmicks are seen all the time. This is especially true in WWE, where characters of all kinds are found.

One new faction has been formed on the blue brand and it has been quite polarizing, to say the least. While some find the group to be quirky, others believe it’s dead in the water.

Regardless, the Maximum Male Models will stick around for now.

Introducing Maxxine Dupri

During the recent episode of WWE SmackDown, it was announced that Max Dupri, ma.çé, and mån.sôör will be debuting the new 2022 beachwear collection next week.

The group will be joined by a special guest.

WWE is advertising that Max Dupri’s sister, Maxxine, will be present for the reveal of the beachwear collection.

There is no word on the identity of the person donning this new character but we’ll be sure to update you once more details surface.

Until then, brace yourself for the ultimate titillation.

Big WWE SummerSlam Reveal Taking Place on SmackDown Tonight

A big SummerSlam reveal is set for tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

The July 15 edition of the blue brand’s show will take place inside the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. Featured on the show will be SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan taking on Natalya in a non-title match.

If Natalya wins, she will earn a future title opportunity.

Money in the Bank briefcase holder Theory will go one-on-one with Madcap Moss. Also set for the show will be a singles match between one-half of the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions Jimmy Uso and Angelo Dawkins.

SummerSlam Referee to be Revealed

WWE has announced that on tonight’s episode of SmackDown, the special guest referee for the Undisputed Tag Team Title match will be revealed. The Usos are set to put their gold on the line against the Street Profits at the big event.

There has been plenty of speculation on who the referee could be. Some have theorized that Sami Zayn could do The Bloodline’s dirty work by being the special referee. Time will tell if that is the plan.

This year’s SummerSlam event will be held inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. The action goes down on July 30.

Be sure to keep it locked on the SEScoops homepage for live coverage of WWE SmackDown tonight.

Latest Update on Io Shirai’s WWE Status

There’s been plenty of rumblings on the future of Io Shirai and a new update has surfaced.

It was recently reported by Dave Meltzer that Shirai was “pretty much gone” from WWE. The Japanese star has been on the NXT brand since Nov. 2018.

Despite being considered one of the premier female talents in the world regardless of promotion, she simply has not been given a chance on the main roster. This is said to have caused frustration with Io.

For what it’s worth, Shirai did seemingly respond to Dave’s report with the following Tweet:

What’s Going on With Io Shirai?

In a follow-up, Dave Meltzer took to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter to provide an update on the situation between Io Shirai and WWE.

The report notes that those within NXT were under the impression that Shirai would be leaving WWE to return to STARDOM in Japan. With that said, those close to Shirai are led to believe that she would sign a new WWE contract if she’s brought up to the main roster.

The report also noted that Io has been training at the WWE Performance Center as she’s ready to return to the ring soon following an injury.

It’s been said that WWE has an offer for Io Shirai on the table but whether or not that’s for the main roster is unknown at this time.

We’ll keep you posted on the latest updates involving Io Shirai and WWE.
