What Happened With Dolph Ziggler After WWE Raw Went Off The Air?

The July 11 episode of WWE Raw has come and gone but what happened after the show?

This edition of the red brand show emanated from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX. The episode featured the return of Brock Lesnar.

There was also a Raw Women’s Championship match between Bianca Belair and Carmella. Fans also witnessed WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley team up with Riddle to take on Money in the Bank briefcase holder Theory and Seth Rollins.

    When Cameras Stopped Rolling

Before the USA Network broadcast went off the air, Dolph Ziggler nailed Theory with a Super Kick. This was after Dolph cost Theory his tag team match against Riddle and Bobby Lashley.

Theory was caught in an RKO from Riddle and pinned. Theory had attempted to cheat by putting his feet on the ropes during a pin, but Dolph shoved him off. That caused a distraction, followed by the RKO.

There was no dark match when this week’s episode of WWE Raw went off the air. Instead, Dolph Ziggler posed for the crowd.

It’s important to note that WWE had been testing the waters with a Theory vs. Dolph program during a July 10 house show.

WWE had a digital exclusive where Carmella was interviewed after her count-out victory over Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Raw Talk was also aired after the USA Network broadcast.

  • Megastar to Appear on WWE Raw Next Week

Megastar to Appear on WWE Raw Next Week

A big star will be appearing on the July 18 episode of WWE Raw.

Next week’s edition of the show will be held inside Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. This episode of Raw will be the continuation of the road to SummerSlam, which will go down on July 30.

WWE recently signed a social media sensation a few short months after his impressive showing at WrestleMania 38.

He will be making his first appearance as a contracted WWE superstar very soon.

    Logan Paul Coming to Raw

During the July 11 episode of Raw, WWE announced that Logan Paul will be featured on next week’s show. His appearance had been previously advertised by the arena but now it’s official.

For weeks, The Miz has urged Logan to team with him again and go after the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championships. The problem is, Miz turned on Paul following their tag team victory over Rey and Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania earlier this year.

Logan has insisted that he doesn’t want to team with Miz. Instead, he wants to have a match against the “A-Lister.”

Miz has aligned himself with Ciampa and the numbers game has become an annoyance to AJ Styles. Perhaps we’re due for Logan and Styles vs. Miz and Ciampa for SummerSlam.

Time will tell if WWE goes in that direction.

  • Brock Lesnar Returns to WWE Raw, Destroys Tag Team (Video)

Brock Lesnar Returns to WWE Raw, Destroys Tag Team (Video)

Brock Lesnar made his return to WWE Monday Night Raw and got physical.

Brock showed up at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX on July 11. His promo was interrupted by Paul Heyman, who promised that he will prepare Roman Reigns to conquer Brock one more time.

Money in the Bank briefcase holder Theory then made his way out and reminded Brock that he hasn’t forgotten about being F5’d off the Elimination Chamber pod back in February.

    Brock Lesnar Decimates Alpha Academy

Gable and Otis of Alpha Academy made the cardinal sin of trying to attack Brock Lesnar. They paid for it dearly, especially Otis.

Lesnar ended up attacking the former tag team champions with stairs and chairs. He then slammed Otis through the announce table with an F5.

Lesnar is scheduled to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship on July 30 at SummerSlam.

The action will be held inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Reason Why John Cena Won’t Wrestle at WWE SummerSlam

Reason Why John Cena Won’t Wrestle at WWE SummerSlam

We now know why John Cena won’t be in the ring for a match at WWE SummerSlam this year.

WWE recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of Cena on the June 27 episode of Raw in Laredo, TX. Many expected Cena and Theory to kickstart a feud on the show, which would lead to a showdown on July 30.

While the seeds were planted for a potential rivalry between Cena and Theory during a backstage segment, it won’t be for a SummerSlam match.

When Cena addressed the WWE Universe, he said he didn’t know when he was going to wrestle again but promised he has more than just one match left in him.

Why John Cena Isn’t Booked For SummerSlam

Theory has now been booked for a rematch with Bobby Lashley, who defeated him at Money in the Bank earlier this month to capture the WWE United States Championship. They’ll collide inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee for SummerSlam.

Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live noted that John Cena has begun filming for season two of Peacemaker. This would explain why he won’t have the time in his schedule to make it to one of WWE’s biggest premium live events of the year.

Theory is the men’s Money in the Bank briefcase holder. WWE has been heavily teasing that he will attempt to cash in on the winner of Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the Undisputed Universal Championship at SummerSlam.

It’s led some to speculate that Theory could be WWE’s top champion going into WrestleMania in 2023 with John Cena possibly challenging him.

It’ll be interesting to see when Cena’s schedule will allow him to get back inside the ring for a match.

  • Tentative Plans for WWE Raw Tonight

Tentative Plans for WWE Raw Tonight

Early plans for the July 11 episode of WWE Raw have been revealed.

Tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw will take place inside the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX. Already advertised for the show is the return of Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar hasn’t been seen since he appeared on the June 17 episode of SmackDown. He took out Roman Reigns and the rest of The Bloodline.

This has set the stage for a Last Man Standing match between Brock and Reigns. Roman’s WWE Undisputed Universal Championship will be on the line and WWE is billing this as Brock’s last chance at taking the gold from Reigns.

    Early WWE Raw Plans

Fightful is reporting that the WWE crew had gathered materials to potentially implement the Elias character into tonight’s show. The character last appeared on the June 20 episode of Raw, smashing a guitar over the back of Kevin Owens.

In an update, plans for Elias were delisted.

It’s also been reported that an angle involving someone stealing Alexa Bliss’ Lilly doll has also been floated. At this time, it’s unclear if the pitch has been approved.

Early plans have also pegged R-Truth to serve as a referee in one match tonight. It’s also been said that Reggie, Street Profits, and Omos will all be a part of the show as of now.

Already advertised for tonight’s episode of Raw is Bobby Lashley issuing an open challenge for his WWE United States Championship. Plus, Money in the Bank briefcase holder Theory will go one-on-one with Riddle.

AEW Star Speaks on Paying Homage to John Cena on WWE Raw

One AEW star is quite happy that he got to pay homage to John Cena during the June 27 episode of WWE Raw.

WWE celebrated the 20th anniversary of Cena’s promotional debut in Laredo, TX. During the show, there were special video messages from WWE superstars past and present. There were even some key AEW names such as Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho, and Paul Wight.

When Cena made his way to the ring to address the fans, he said he doesn’t know when he’ll wrestle again but he made it clear he’s got a lot more than one more match left in him.

Paul Wight on Paying Tribute to John Cena

During an interview with SportsKeeda, AEW star Paul Wight said he’s grateful for the opportunity to have shared some kind words for John Cena.

“Like I said, it’s still a business. I worked with John Cena, you know, probably for 20+ years. You know, I was instrumental in the beginning of his career, and throughout my career, I had a lot of incredible battles with John Cena all over the world.

“I used to make a joke that every five months, it was time for Big Show and John Cena to fight again. I mean, we were great at the David and Goliath spectacle, and he was such a superhero. I was able to be a great monster for him to battle with and people enjoyed it.

“So that was a cool situation.

“I’m glad that WWE gave me the opportunity to say thank you to John,” Paul continued. “It’s really cool of Tony Khan, to allow his contracted talent to appear on another show to say thanks.”

Paul Wight on paying homage to John Cena

“This shows a lot of class, I think on both companies. You know, it’s great to be competitive. At the same time, the talent involved are also human beings. I have a lot of friends still in WWE. So it’s nice to be able to, in an appropriate way, pay homage to a friend that’s had an amazing career.

“Don’t get me wrong, we still want to kick their ass and ratings, but, I wouldn’t expect anything less from them.”

Wight had his share of encounters with Cena when he was known as the “Big Show” during his time with WWE. One of those matches took place at WrestleMania 25 back in 2009.

It was Cena vs. Big Show vs. Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship. Cena won the match.

Former WWE Superstar Nia Jax Sports New Look

Former WWE Raw Women’s Champion Lina Fanene (Nia Jax) is rocking a new look.

Fanene was released from her WWE contract back in Nov. 2021. During her time with the company, she became a Raw Women’s Champion and a two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion.

In the months that she’s been away from the wrestling business, Fanene has been quite active on social media.

She recently revealed a switch-up in terms of her appearance.

    Nia Jax’s New Look

Nia Jax took to her Instagram account to show off her new hairstyle.

Fanene was expected to be a part of the first World Entertainment Series event.

Eventually, she shot down being on the show and urged fans not to give the company any money as they were still advertising her appearance.

“I do not know why I am still on this poster, but I will REPEAT myself again…I will NOT be at the show. Please do not buy a ticket thinking you will see me perform or get a chance to meet me. I hate that this misleads people!”

  • WWE Superstar Teases Joining New Faction

WWE Superstar Teases Joining New Faction

One WWE talent is dropping a hint that perhaps he is the perfect candidate to join a fresh faction.

Whenever a new faction debuts, it can be quite polarizing. That seems to be the case with Maximum Male Models led by Max Dupri.

Some people think the stable is hysterical, while others don’t see the comedy and feel it’ll fall on its face within a matter of months.

At least for the time being, the group is sticking around on WWE SmackDown revealing new fashion collections on a weekly basis.

One NXT star has seemingly thrown his name in the hat to join the faction.

Duke Hudson in Maximum Male Models?

NXT star Duke Hudson has taken to social media and made a rather convincing argument that perhaps he should be the next member of Maximum Male Models.

As of now, MMM consists of Max Dupri, ma.çé, and mån.sôör.

Who knows what the play on words would be for Duke Hudson if he joins the stable or if WWE would give him a new name altogether.

There is an official website for Maximum Male Models where “applications” are being taken.

With that said, the website notes that this is purely for fun and WWE will not be taking any applications into consideration when it comes to hiring talent.

  • Vince McMahon’s demeanor at SmackDown, WWE budget cuts & more

Vince McMahon’s demeanor at SmackDown, WWE budget cuts & more

Some backstage notes from the July 8 episode of WWE SmackDown have surfaced.

The latest edition of the blue brand’s show emanated from Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, TX. Fans got to see the return of WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns, who received quite the pep talk from his Special Counsel Paul Heyman.

Also featured on the show was a rematch between Ronda Rousey and Natalya. Shinsuke Nakamura took on Ludwig Kaiser, while Drew McIntyre mixed it up with Butch.

There were some key things to note behind the scenes.

    Vince McMahon Avoids Controversial Topic

Hours before SmackDown went on the air, The Wall Street Journal reported more hush pacts involving Vince McMahon and four other women.

One female is allegedly a former WWE talent who was coerced into giving Vince oral sex, demoted, and then wasn’t re-signed in 2005 once she declined further sexual advances.

PWInsider reports that while backstage at SmackDown this week, Vince didn’t address the latest report. Sources told PWInsider that the feeling behind the scenes was Vince avoiding the “elephant in the room.”

    Budget Cuts Negatively Impact SmackDown

WWE producer Jason Jordan wasn’t backstage for SmackDown as he and his wife are expecting a baby any moment now. Adam Pearce filled in for him.

Budget cuts have also made it difficult for producers. Joe Hennig (Curtis Axel) and Ariya Daivari haven’t been brought in for work due to the budget cuts. They had been appearing on a probationary basis.

This has caused a lot of strain on producers as the workload is mounting.

    Other Notes

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were not backstage for SmackDown this week. Bruce Prichard returned after spending some time away to recover from surgery.

WWE SmackDown has wrapped up but fans inside Dickies Arena got to see a dark match.

Newly crowned SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan also appeared and addressed the WWE Universe.

    Once Cameras Stopped Rolling

Once the FOX broadcast went off the air, fans in Fort Worth, TX were treated to a special match. It was WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley taking on Money in the Bank briefcase holder Theory.

Lashley ended up winning the match and high-fived the fans on his way out of the arena.

A championship rematch between Lashley and Theory is set for WWE SummerSlam on July 30. Lashley defeated Theory at MITB on July 2 to capture the WWE United States Championship.

The rematch will be held inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

    WWE SmackDown Superstar Turns Heel

A WWE SmackDown talent has turned heel.

The face and heel turns continue throughout the wrestling business. During the July 8 episode of WWE SmackDown, we got another superstar moving over to the dark side.

At first, it seemed that this superstar was going to be pushed as a face after initial reports. It looks like the original plan has materialized, however.

This heel turn won’t come as a surprise as it wasn’t a matter of “if” but “when.”

    Lacey Evans Turns Heel

Lacey Evans was expected to be in a tag team match with Aliyah. Lacey made her entrance but wasn’t fond of the lack of crowd reaction.

She made two more entrance attempts but by that point, fans started booing her.

Evans got on the mic and said she was disgusted by fans inside Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, TX. She talked about pouring her heart out to the fans for a lame reaction and “What” chants.

Evans also claimed that the WWE Universe is weak and can’t handle half of what she’s been through. She said that until she gets the respect she deserves, WWE fans can “go to hell.”

Lacey then nailed Aliyah with the Women’s Right.

For weeks, WWE aired vignettes of Lacey Evans telling her real-life story of going from tragedy to triumph. It was the perfect story for a babyface but reports suggested Evans would be a heel.

Upon her return, WWE treated Lacey as a face but the fans never truly got behind her. This was evident but the negative crowd reaction to her at Money in the Bank.

WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns put his gold on the line against Riddle in the main event of the June 17 episode of SmackDown. After some thrilling action, Reigns caught Riddle midair with a Spear for the three-count.

After the match, Reigns said there was no one left and that he was going back home. Lesnar’s music hit and he ended up taking out The Bloodline.

The match was set for SummerSlam shortly after and it’ll be Last Man Standing.

    Brock Lesnar Set For Raw

During the recent edition of SmackDown, WWE announced that Brock Lesnar will be making an appearance on the July 11 episode of Monday Night Raw.

This will be Lesnar’s first sighting on WWE TV since delivering an F5 to Reigns last month. Roman recently appeared on SmackDown and received a pep talk from his Special Counsel Paul Heyman.

WWE is billing the Last Man Standing match as Brock’s last chance to take WWE’s biggest prize from Roman.

Heyman recently put over the stipulation, saying Reigns will have to turn in the greatest performance of his career to keep Lesnar down for the 10-count.

WWE SummerSlam will take place on July 30 inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

Visa Issues Prevented Star From Making AEW Debut

One star from a major promotion wasn’t able to make his planned AEW appearance.

Last month, the AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door crossover PPV took place inside the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. In the weeks leading up to the event, NJPW stars appeared on Dynamite and Rampage to hype up Forbidden Door.

Will Ospreay and other members of NJPW’s United Empire faction also made appearances. One notable name left off the shows, however, was Francesco Akira.

Why Francesco Akira Didn’t Appear on AEW TV

Francesco Akira had an interview with Cultaholic and when the topic of missing out on Forbidden Door and the weeks prior was brought up, Akira revealed that visa issues were to blame.

“There was [A plan to appear], but unfortunately we’re working on my visa stuff now, because I’ve never been to the U.S, but I just joined New Japan.

Francesco Akira on missing out on Forbidden Door month

There’s a process you need to do before getting to America. I think Forbidden Door was one of the greatest shows of the last ten years to me. Every match delivered, especially the United Empire matches.

“We’re working on it, I would love to come to America, especially for STRONG and defend [these] championship[s] too with TJP in America.”

With the amount of jaw-jacking Will Ospreay has done towards Kenny Omega, many are convinced that we have not seen the last of him or United Empire on AEW programming. This would be great news for Akira.

Vince McMahon Allegedly Agreed to $12 Million Hush Pact to Four Women

Vince McMahon has found himself in more hot water.

Back in June, it was reported by The Wall Street Journal that the WWE board was investigating Vince McMahon over an alleged $3 million hush pact with a former employee. Vince was said to have had a sexual relationship with the former WWE worker.

The former employee reportedly saw her salary go up from $100,000 to $200,000 after the relationship with McMahon began.

As a result of the investigation, Vince voluntarily stepped back from his role as WWE Chairman and CEO for the time being. Stephanie McMahon is now the interim CEO and Chairwoman.

    New Hush Pacts Revealed

A new report from The Wall Street Journal claims that Vince McMahon also secured nondisclosure agreements involving four women to hide allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity.

It’s been said that these NDAs have been put in place over the last 16 years.

Two accusations against McMahon are quite serious. The report claims one settlement for $7.5 million was for a former WWE talent who was allegedly coerced into giving McMahon oral sex.

It’s also alleged that when she shot down further sexual advances, she was demoted and the company declined to renew her deal in 2005.

The WSJ report also notes the following:

“A WWE contractor presented the company with unsolicited nude photos of Mr. McMahon she reported receiving from him and alleged that he had sexually harassed her on the job”

    WSJ report

Time will tell how this will ultimately shake out. For years, Vince McMahon has come across as bulletproof but in 2022, things like this don’t slide very often.

We’ll continue to provide updates on the Vince McMahon situation as more details continue to trickle in.

Jericho began experiencing problems during a Fozzy tour in the UK. The AEW star and overall wrestling legend had been dealing with shortness of breath, which led to a trip to the hospital.

The multiple-time world champion detailed the issues that were plaguing him during an edition of his Talk is Jericho podcast.

“I did have what is called a pulmonary embolism.”

Chris Jericho on 2021 health scare

“Back on December 7th, I believe, of 2021. I found this out when I was in London, England. I’ve been waiting a while to tell the story.

I kind of wanted to wait until some things were settled and figure it out, and make sure that everything is back to where it needs to be, and is back to normal, and is back to the new normal.”

    Recovery

Chris Jericho went on to explain that blood clots in his lungs were slowing him down but now they are all gone.

“Pulmonary embolism basically means blood clots in your lungs, and that’s what I had, a whole bunch of them, which are now pretty much gone. All of them are gone, which is great to hear.”

Chris Jericho explains serious health scare

The ordeal was quite scary for Jericho as he said he could barely walk when he went to the hospital and his chest was pounding.

Luckily for him, he was able to have the issue cleared up and he has fully recovered. Jericho did mention that he has a Factor V gene in his blood, which contributes to blood clots.

Before Jericho was out of the woods, he had to be put on blood thinners in order to keep performing. He also underwent more tests to figure out how to solve his issues.

Jericho is currently involved in a personal feud with Eddie Kingston on AEW TV.

PWInsider reports that internally, Liv Morgan is now a full-time member of the SmackDown roster.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise seeing as how Liv successfully cashed in her briefcase at Money in the Bank on July 2. She pinned Ronda Rousey to become the SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Liv appeared on the post-MITB edition of Raw and teamed with Bianca Belair. The two defeated Natalya and Carmella.

In this case, it was two teams coming together for a good time but not a long time.

The Gunns Turn on The Acclaimed

The Acclaimed and The Gunn Club had formed a fun stable together. Fans were entertained by Austin and Colten Gunn being called the “Ass Boys” but they never found it to be funny.

Things finally boiled over when The Gunns didn’t allow Max Caster to get in his entrance rap during the July 6 episode of Dynamite.

Austin also stole Caster’s thunder by tagging himself in after he had done all the work in their eight-man tag team match.

The teams brawled after the match when Billy Gunn initially appeared to reprimand his sons for their actions. Instead, he ended up attacking The Acclaimed.

Top WWE Superstar Could Miss Another Premium Live Event

A major player for WWE may not be on the docket for one of its premium live events.

The wrestling business has certainly had its share of circumstances that haven’t been ideal this year. There have been a slew of injuries impacting top promotions such as WWE and AEW.

Some top performers also haven’t been around often due to reduced schedules.

For this top superstar, in particular, he may be missing out on a key event set to take place in a few months.

    Roman Reigns Missing Extreme Rules?

The poster for Extreme Rules has been released and the current WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns is nowhere to be seen. This doesn’t serve as a confirmation of his absence but it certainly isn’t a good sign.

Reigns inked a new deal with WWE that sees him work fewer dates. While some thought the “Tribal Chief” would only be reducing his house show schedule, he has been MIA for many TV shows and he wasn’t present at the Money in the Bank premium live event.

A report from WrestleVotes claims that when the decision was made to unify the world titles with Reigns as the champion, the belief was that it would allow the “Head of the Table” to make more appearances on Raw and SmackDown.

    So much for that.

Reigns is scheduled to appear on the July 8 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. He will put his gold on the line against Brock Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam on July 30 in Nashville.

That title match will be contested under Last Man Standing rules.

  • Shotzi Explains Why She Deleted Twitter Account

Shotzi Explains Why She Deleted Twitter Account

WWE SmackDown superstar Shotzi has given an explanation for deleting her Twitter account.

After performing in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, Shotzi received some brutal remarks over struggling at certain spots. These comments went beyond fair criticism.

Some reminded the SmackDown talent that she had poked fun at Chris Jericho’s infamous crashpad spot at the conclusion of AEW’s Blood & Guts match back in 2021.

At the time, Shotzi insisted that she was simply making a joke and she thought the match Jericho had been in was great.

What seemingly drove Shotzi to delete her Twitter account, however, were people calling for her to be fired over a few botched spots.

    Shotzi Speaks Out

Shotzi took to her Instagram Stories to break her silence on deleting her Twitter account. She said that simply put, all the negativity wasn’t doing her mental health any good.

“I appreciate everyone checking on me but I swear I’m fine. I have been going through the toughest year of my personal life so it’s deeper than nasty comments, but also Twitter has not helped with my already fragile mind state. Just trying to stay motivated and positive. I am focused on my goals and not what’s on the internet.”

    Shotzi on leaving Twitter

The good news from that statement is that Shotzi is doing well. Perhaps removing herself from the cesspool that is Twitter will do her some good.

Despite having an off night at MITB, Shotzi was still very over in the match as the crowd cheered every time she went to climb up the ladder.

Despite the botches, Shotzi has made it clear that she’s willing to sacrifice her body for fans’ entertainment.

  • Yet Another WWE Talent Changes Name

Yet Another WWE Talent Changes Name

Another day, another name change over in WWE.

The company is known for switching things up with its performers. Whether it’s on Raw, SmackDown, or NXT, WWE will make changes to its characters in an attempt to shake things up.

For better or worse, the company is not afraid to switch up entrance music, gimmicks, attire, and of course the names of the performers.

In this situation, it is an NXT star who will be going by a new name.

    Goodbye A-Kid, Hello Axiom

During NXT’s The Great American Bash show, a vignette aired promoting a “new” superstar who goes by the name of “Axiom.”

As it turns out, this is a name change for A-Kid. The man now known as Axiom had been competing on the NXT UK brand but has made the move to NXT 2.0.

It’s unknown if this re-debut has anything to do with the mysterious QR code that aired earlier in the show.

SEScoops had you covered with results and video highlights from NXT’s The Great American Bash. There was also a major title change on the show.
