Big Update on Tyson Fury’s Future With WWE

Tyson Fury could be making his way back to WWE this summer but it isn’t set in stone.

Fury is the WBC and The Ring Heavyweight Champion of boxing. He claims to be done with professional prizefighting but some are skeptical. “The Gypsy King” insists he’s retired from pro boxing but will dabble in exhibition bouts.

Fury has also hinted at stepping back inside the squared circle. He has been teasing a potential showdown with Drew McIntyre for months.

Could we be on the verge of seeing Tyson Fury back inside a WWE ring?

    Tyson Fury-WWE Talks

Tyson Fury has been in talks with WWE about potentially returning sometime this summer. The report notes that nothing has been finalized at this time and there are no concrete plans for him to appear on any of the upcoming shows yet.

Fury had a match with Braun Strowman in Saudi Arabia back in 2019. Fury knocked Strowman off the ring apron with one punch and won via count out.

There could be a roadblock with WWE’s potential plans for Fury, however.

“The Gyspy King’s” brother, Tommy, reportedly has been denied entry into the United States due to family ties with former boxing promoter and suspected crime boss Daniel Kinahan.

If things don’t get cleared up soon, Tyson Fury may not even be able to make any U.S. shows, although Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales on Sept. 3 wouldn’t be an issue.

Watch What Happened With Becky Lynch After WWE Raw Went Off The Air

The special Independence Day edition of WWE Raw is in the books and something went down when the cameras stopped rolling.

This week’s episode for the red brand featured a six-man tag match involving WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits vs. Theory and Alpha Academy. There was also a singles match between Seth Rollins and Ezekiel.

The main event was a No Holds Barred match. It was Asuka taking on Becky Lynch.

We also saw the formation of a new alliance as The Miz finally embraced Ciampa at the expense of AJ Styles.

    After The Show

Once the USA Network broadcast went off the air, Becky Lynch addressed the WWE Universe and called herself the GOAT.

WWE also aired its Raw Talk show. Riddle was interviewed and discussed saving Ezekiel from a post-match attack at the hands of Seth Rollins.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair were also interviewed and they talked about their tag team win over Natalya and Carmella.

  • WWE Superstar Vomits After Match on Monday Night Raw (Video)

WWE Superstar Vomits After Match on Monday Night Raw (Video)

July 4, 2022 was not a good night for one WWE superstar.

Always expect the unexpected when it comes to the wrestling business. WWE has long had the “anything can happen” mentality and it’s hardly the only promotion to do so.

WWE officials often think of ways to get people talking after shows and for better or worse, a recent scripted mishap has garnered some attention online.

    Otis Barfs on Raw

To celebrate Independence Day, WWE ran an old July 4 tradition. A hot dog eating contest took place and Otis was a participant. Ultimately, Akira Tozawa won the competition.

Later on that night, Otis competed in a six-man tag team match, teaming with Gable and Theory to take on Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits.

Near the end of the match, Montez Ford landed a frog splash on Otis. Lashley ended up pinning Gable with the spear.

After the match, Otis hurled all over the ring.

    https://twitter.com/WWE/status/1544143836976496640

Yes, vomit humor is back in WWE.

Back in the 90s when Droz was an active wrestler, he had the ability to puke on command. There’s an infamous video of Droz hurling inside a conference room and Vince McMahon yelling, “he’s gonna puke!”

One has to wonder if Vince was saying those same words in Gorilla Position when Otis threw up.

  • New Alliance Formed on WWE Raw

New Alliance Formed on WWE Raw

A new duo has been formed within the ranks of WWE.

In the wrestling business, sometimes it’s good to have allies. If you happen to be a dastardly heel, having another like-minded villain could lead to dominance on the Raw or SmackDown brand.

In the case of this new alliance, it’s something that has been building for weeks.

The formation of the duo has seemingly been made official and one has to wonder what this could mean for Logan Paul.

The Miz & Ciampa Form Alliance

During the July 4 episode of WWE Raw, The Miz went one-on-one with AJ Styles. Ultimately, Styles won with the Phenomenal Forearm.

After the match, Ciampa delivered another sneak attack on Styles. The “Phenomenal One” got the upper hand on Ciampa but he was distracted, allowing Miz to plant him with the Skull Crushing Finale.

Miz finally embraced Ciampa, making their alliance official.

Logan Paul has insisted that he signed a WWE contract to get revenge on Miz not team up with him. Perhaps we could be in for a tag team match between Logan Paul and AJ Styles vs. The Miz and Ciampa at SummerSlam.

Time will tell if that’s the direction WWE will go in.

  • Major WWE Superstar Set to Return on SmackDown This Week

Major WWE Superstar Set to Return on SmackDown This Week

A big-time WWE superstar will be making his return this Friday.

WWE is known for having larger-than-life characters. Some feel that the star power has been running thin, however. We’ve seen key injuries to the likes of main eventers such as Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.

There have also been megastars that have taken reduced schedules but one major name is set to return.

    Roman Reigns Returns This Week

Roman Reigns is the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion. Fans haven’t been able to see much of him, however.

That’s because Reigns inked a new deal with WWE that will allow him to work fewer dates. He hasn’t been seen since successfully defending his title against Riddle on the June 17 episode of SmackDown before being laid out by Brock Lesnar.

WWE has announced that Roman Reigns will be back on the July 8 episode of SmackDown in Fort Worth, TX.

It’ll be interesting to see what he’ll have to say after being attacked by Lesnar during his last appearance.

The two will face off with the WWE Undisputed Universal Title on the line at SummerSlam on July 30 in Nashville. It’ll be a Last Man Standing match.

  • WWE Talent Misses July 4 Episode of Raw

WWE Talent Misses July 4 Episode of Raw

A WWE personality isn’t present for the special July 4 episode of Monday Night Raw.

The Independence Day edition of Raw is being held inside Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California. This is the post-Money in the Bank episode of Raw.

The WWE Universe is fresh off witnessing the MITB premium live event. Fans saw two Money in the Bank winners crowned and a SmackDown Women’s Championship change when Liv Morgan cashed in her contract to defeat Ronda Rousey.

When the show got started, however, one notable name was absent.

    Jimmy Smith Not on Raw

When WWE Raw got started, Corey Graves revealed that Jimmy Smith is on vacation. He was replaced by Kevin Patrick as the play-by-play commentator this week.

Smith has been the lead PBP person on Raw since the company dropped Adnan Virk. Smith has been praised for holding his own in the booth despite not having much knowledge about the current WWE product going into the role.

This week’s episode of Raw features The Judgment Day vs. The Mysterios. There will also be a six-man tag team match with Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits vs. Theory and Alpha Academy.

Keep it locked on the SEScoops homepage for ongoing coverage of WWE Raw.

  • Watch What Happened With Pat McAfee After MITB Went Off The Air

Watch What Happened With Pat McAfee After MITB Went Off The Air

This year’s WWE Money in the Bank event has reached its conclusion and fans got something extra when the show was over.

The 2022 MITB card was held inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show had two Money in the Bank ladder matches. One for the men, and one for the women.

Theory, who wasn’t initially in the MITB ladder match, ended up being thrown in the match and won it. On the women’s side, Liv Morgan not only won the ladder match but she successfully cashed in on Ronda Rousey to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion.

    Pat McAfee Attacked

When Money in the Bank went off the air, Happy Corbin attacked SmackDown color commentator Pat McAfee. He then celebrated inside the ring with Theory.

Fans figured something was going to spill over between Corbin and McAfee. Corbin had expressed his displeasure with McAfee making fun of him on commentary and threatened to teach him a lesson inside the ring.

McAfee wasn’t fazed by the threat as he led fans to laugh Corbin out of the building when their issues were first addressed on an episode of SmackDown.

Before MITB, McAfee challenged Corbin to a match at SummerSlam but Corbin has yet to answer.

  • Who is the Mystery Man behind WWE’s cryptic vignette?

Who is the Mystery Man behind WWE’s cryptic vignette?

WWE has fans talking following a mysterious vignette that aired during Money in the Bank.

MITB is currently taking place inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show is featuring two MITB ladder matches.

Just before the SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Ronda Rousey and Natalya got started, there was a video package of Kevin Owens.

That clip wasn’t what had the attention of the viewers, however. It was the clip that was played right after it.

    Who Did WWE Tease?

The video after the KO showcase was rather ominous and featured a cross and some callbacks to WWE characters of old. A superstar, who could not be identified, was briefly in the video as well.

Speculation has run wild on who exactly is the person in question. Naturally, social media ran with this claiming it’s a sign that Bray Wyatt will be making his return to WWE.

WrestleVotes has responded to that idea, telling fans to not get their hopes up.

“Don’t get overly excited about that vignette…”

    WrestleVotes on WWE tease

Wrestling podcaster Sam Roberts shared an interesting theory:

“Watch back. Lots of attitude era references. Eddie, Angle, Hardys, Dudley’s… Where you at [Edge]?”

Edge hasn’t been seen since being kicked out of The Judgment Day group that he created. Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley brought Finn Balor to the group to replace Edge. Priest laid out the “Rated-R Superstar” with a Conchairto.

Of course, Kevin Owens was more intrigued by his own video package.

“Hey WWE, I liked that video package you guys aired about me. My dad also liked it. Thanks!”

  • WWE Had Plans to Add More Members to Disbanded Faction

WWE Had Plans to Add More Members to Disbanded Faction

WWE wanted some more additions to a faction that is no more.

There have been some legendary factions in the wrestling business. From The Four Horseman to the nWo to DX and many more, stables in wrestling go together like peanut butter and jelly.

When it comes to this faction, it started off with three close friends and soon a fourth friend joined the party. For the members of this faction, however, four was enough.

Undisputed Era Almost Had More Members

During an appearance on The Kurt Angle Show, Adam Cole revealed that WWE initially wanted Undisputed Era to have more than four members.

“So originally, The Undisputed Era was just supposed to be me, Bobby, and Kyle O’Reilly, that was it, supposed to be the three of us. And they were like, nope, it’s not going to be like a group that expands and we add more and more and more.

And I remember, they came to us with the idea of adding Roderick Strong. And the three of us were kind off to ourselves, and we were sitting there and we’re like I know we said we don’t want anyone else in the group, but Roderick Strong would be perfect because we’re all buddies with him.”

“It really felt like that’s when the group truly started with the four of us but going off of like different ideas that ended up not happening. I know it was discussed at one point that I can’t even specifically think of the name, but adding one or two more people to the group at one point, that was discussed.”

“I know that the four of us were kind of like, eh, we felt like Roderick was like the exception to the rule. And of course, all four of us are good in the sense of if they were like, no, we really want to do this, we’re gonna go okay.

“‘Yes, sir. Yeah, whatever you want.’ But when they were asking us our opinion, it was no, I feel like just this, this four-man group is the way to go. So yeah, there was discussions about maybe adding different members to The Undisputed ERA at one point that all of us weren’t crazy about, and it ended up not happening.”

Only one member of Undisputed Era remains under WWE contract. That superstar is Roderick Strong, who recently requested his release from the company.

Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish are all members of the AEW roster now.

  • What Happened With Seth Rollins After WWE SmackDown Went Off The Air

What Happened With Seth Rollins After WWE SmackDown Went Off The Air

The July 1 episode of WWE SmackDown has come and gone but there was a dark match after the show.

During this week’s edition of the blue brand, we found out who would be the final participant in this year’s men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. It ended up being Madcap Moss who defeated Ezekiel, Happy Corbin, and The Miz to earn his opportunity.

We also got quite the tease of a tag team possibly breaking up. Kayla Braxton dropped a potential bombshell rumor that The Street Profits haven’t been getting along.

    Once Cameras Stopped Rolling

Once the FOX broadcast went off the air, Riddle and Seth Rollins had a singles match. Both men will be participants in the Money in the Bank ladder match on July 2 in Las Vegas.

Rollins and Riddle have been at each other’s throats in the buildup to Money in the Bank. It’s led some to speculate that it’ll lead to a match at SummerSlam but that hasn’t been confirmed at this time.

For now, it looks like they’re starting a string of dark match and live event battles.

There was also a dark match before the show aired. Shinsuke Nakamura took on Humberto in singles action.

New Members Finally Join WWE SmackDown Faction

A WWE SmackDown faction has new members.

Stables in the world of wrestling are nothing new. The biggest group in WWE today is The Bloodline. Roman Reigns and The Usos have dominated the SmackDown brand but there’s another heel faction looking to make a splash.

The newest members have been introduced.

ma.çé and mån.sôör join Maximum Male Models

Several weeks ago, Max Dupri, the leader of Maximum Male Models, promised he would introduce new members of his faction.

That didn’t end up happening as WWE used the storyline excuse that Dupri had travel issues. Dupri continued to stall on the reveal, claiming authority figure Adam Pearce wasn’t properly prepared for the big reveal.

Dupri finally delivered on the July 1 episode of WWE SmackDown.

The new members of Maximum Male Models are Mace, who is now known as “ma.çé” and Mansoor, who will be referred to as “mån.sôör” going forward.

ma.çé and mån.sôör had been tested as group members with Dupri during dark matches. It looks like they impressed WWE officials enough to be used on TV going forward.

  • WWE Possibly Teases Tag Team Breakup

WWE Possibly Teases Tag Team Breakup

WWE may have dropped a hint that one of its top tag teams could soon be splitsville.

When it comes to WWE, the tag team division is thin. Randy Orton is out with a back injury, so the red hot RK-Bro team is on ice at the moment.

The Usos are the top team in the company but their challengers are running low.

While one would think WWE would keep as many teams together as possible, the company may have teased a breakup.

    The Streets Profits Splitting?

During the July 1 episode of WWE SmackDown, there was an “Ask Them Anything” segment. Kayla Braxton served as the host.

The segment featured Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos and their Money in the Bank challengers The Street Profits.

During the segment, Braxton said she’s heard rumors that Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins haven’t been getting along.

The Street Profits denied the rumor. Dawkins went as far as to liken Ford as a brother.

Many fans and experts have expressed their belief that Montez Ford will eventually become a singles star. He’s certainly been putting in work in the gym and some feel he’s ready to be on his own.

Time will tell if this will lead to a breakup.

  • AEW Star Pulled From WWE Raw

AEW Star Pulled From WWE Raw

One AEW star was set to make a video appearance on WWE Raw but it ended up being canned.

The June 27 episode of Monday Night Raw celebrated the 20th anniversary of John Cena’s WWE debut. A plethora of current and former WWE superstars paid homage to the “Doctor of Thuganomics.”

Even some current AEW stars such as Bryan Danielson and Chris Jericho were allowed to appear to share their well wishes to Cena.

One notable AEW name was left off the tribute show, however.

Mark Henry Denied WWE Raw Appearance

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that AEW personality Mark Henry had shot a video clip for the anniversary show. Of course, that didn’t end up making it on the USA Network broadcast.

At this time, there’s no word on why Henry’s video was omitted from the show.

Mark Henry had a highly praised feud with John Cena back in 2013. Henry claimed he would be retiring and gave an emotional speech.

When Cena went to hug him, Mark lifted him up and slammed him down to the mat for the World’s Strongest Slam. It was a red hot start to get their program going.

Bruce Prichard was said to have been the one to contact AEW President Tony Khan about using his stars for the anniversary show. Khan gave the green light and it was said that pretty much everyone WWE wanted to use was allowed to be on the show.

  • Another Top AEW Star Expected to Miss Significant Time

Another Top AEW Star Expected to Miss Significant Time

One AEW star isn’t expected to be back inside the ring for a while.

There has perhaps been no time more trying for AEW President Tony Khan as a wrestling promoter than right now. His company has had to endure a slew of injuries all at once.

Kenny Omega has been out of action since Nov. 2021 but things appeared to be steady enough during his absence. Unfortunately for the promotion, a wave of injuries to the likes of AEW World Champion CM Punk has derailed some plans.

Some performers will be missing more time than others and in the case of this top main eventer, he will be out for a lengthy period of time.

Adam Cole Out For A While

Adam Cole competed at the AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door PPV event on June 26. He challenged Jay White, Kazuchika Okada, and Hangman Page for the interim IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

Jay scored the pinfall over Cole but the ending was awkward. Jay simply got the pin after Cole ducked a Rainmaker, so fans instantly suspected something was off.

As it turns out, he suffered a concussion. Dave Meltzer reported on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the concussion was “very serious.”

On top of that, Cole had been trying to work through a torn labrum. The belief is that Adam Cole would be best served to get surgery for the tear rather than try to tough it out once he’s clear from the concussion.

It’s another blow to AEW because at this point, there is a growing mega-list of injuries within the company.

  • WWE Considering Turning Popular NXT Star Heel

WWE Considering Turning Popular NXT Star Heel

It looks like one WWE star could be on the verge of a change in attitude.

Heel and face turns are nothing new in the wrestling business. Very few can say they remained on one side of the fence throughout their entire career.

Even some stars who worked best at one role eventually switched things up.

When it comes to this star, however, a heel turn would be quite the surprising move.

    Cora Jade Heel Turn?

NXT star Cora Jade has a bubbly personality and she’s one of the last performers you would expect to turn over to the dark side.

With that said, it looks like WWE is mulling over possibly turning her heel.

Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE is considering having Jade turn on Roxanne Perez at some point. It’s important to note that this is not set in stone, rather an idea being floated around within the company.

Since NXT is a developmental brand, this is where experiments such as this one can be done without much backlash. It could also be a good test to see if Cora Jade has the chops to be a heel.

Time will tell if WWE goes through with the idea.

  • AEW Faction Possibly Splitting Up

    AEW Faction Possibly Splitting Up

It may soon be curtains for one AEW faction.

AEW certainly isn’t the only promotion that leans on stables. The likes of NJPW and Stardom are quite group-heavy as well. Even WWE has its share of factions such as The New Day and The Judgment Day.

One AEW faction, however, could very well be in the midst of a breakup.

Gunn Club Splitting From The Acclaimed?

There could be some trouble brewing between the Gunn Club and The Acclaimed.

During the special Blood & Guts edition of AEW Dynamite, Danhausen and FTR took on Max Caster & The Gunn Club. Anthony Bowens accidentally hit Austin Gunn with one of his crutches, costing Gunn Club the match.

Afterward, Austin & Colten Gunn were not happy with Bowens. Things got heated, which led to Billy Gunn shoving Austin down and appearing to side with The Acclaimed.

For weeks, The Gunn Club has hinted at not being aligned with The Acclaimed, who have been pandering to the crowd in babyface-like fashion.

In particular, Austin and Colten are not amused when being referred to as the “Ass Boys.” Bowens had been leading the crowd to sing “Ass Boys” while The Acclaimed’s theme would play.

He did not do so on Wednesday night.

New WWE Signee Was Never in Contact with AEW

One of the newest members of the WWE roster was never in touch with AEW.

When it comes to signing talent, there’s some competition for WWE. AEW has emerged as a solid option now that the Stamford giant isn’t the only game in town.

This opens the door for bidding wars where in the end, it’s the talent who wins out and secures a nice payday.

In this situation, however, it was just one-way traffic.

Valerie Loureda Never Spoke to AEW

Almost a full month after Fightful reported that former Bellator MMA fighter Valerie Loureda was expected to sign with WWE, the company and Loureda made it official.

During an interview with Ariel Helwani on MMAFighting’s The MMA Hour, Loureda revealed that she was never in contact with AEW before signing with WWE.

“No. Team WWE, all the way. Nothing compares to WWE. It’s a monster of its own and everyone knows that. It’s a global organization. There is nothing that compares to WrestleMania. Who could pull that off?”

Valerie Loureda on not speaking with AEW

With the WWE signing, Loureda hangs up her MMA gloves to start a new journey in the world of sports entertainment. Once she gets a grasp on things inside the WWE Performance Center, she will debut on the NXT brand.

Loureda exits pro MMA competition with a record of 4-1. At the young age of 23, Loureda has plenty of time to hone her skills in the squared circle. Time will tell if she can excel in WWE.

Logan Paul Signs Multi-Year WWE Contract

Internet sensation Logan Paul has signed a deal with WWE.

Paul has been getting quite comfortable with the company and for good reason. He performed at WrestleMania 38, teaming with The Miz to take on Rey & Dominik Mysterio.

Logan was highly praised for his showing and many believed he looked like a natural inside the ring. While Paul had been announced for a SummerSlam return, he has now put pen to paper.

Logan Paul Signs on Dotted Line

Logan Paul took to his Twitter account to show he’s signed a WWE contract in front of Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.

A video was then released of Paul writing a message to The Miz on the back of his contract.

Some were wondering if this is just a deal for the SummerSlam premium live event or if it’s a more long-term situation.

Ariel Helwani is reporting that this is a multi-year deal for multiple matches per year.

“Deal includes an undisclosed number of premium live events across 2022 and 2023. He’ll likely, I’m told, have his first big appearance at SS but could be on TV before that. He signed his deal yesterday.”

Ariel Helwani on Logan Paul’s WWE deal

Paul and Miz picked up the win over The Mysterios at WrestleMania. After the match, Miz turned on Paul by hitting the Skull Crushing Finale.

During a recent episode of Monday Night Raw, Miz revealed he told Paul that this was just a learning lesson and the two are back on the same page.

  • WWE Legend Returns After Undergoing Back Surgery

WWE Legend Returns After Undergoing Back Surgery

A WWE Hall of Famer is back to work for the first time since undergoing spinal surgery.

The wrestling business can be grueling. Even years after a performer has had one final match, there are likely to be lingering effects. In the case of one tag team legend, it led to him undergoing back surgery.

Luckily, everything seems to be in order now and this legend is back working behind the scenes in WWE for the first time since the operation.

    D-Von Dudley Returns

Legendary tag team wrestler D-Von Dudley has revealed on his Twitter account that he is now back to work in WWE for the first time since the fall of 2021.

“This past Tuesday night was the first time back at work since my back surgery that took me out last October,” said D-Von.

“Feeling great and Glad to be back, but even more glad to be back in my new role in NXT. Love working with the new talent now. I thank God for this opportunity.”

D-Von Dudley on returning after spinal surgery

Back in May, D-Von announced the end of his Table Talk podcast and he also had another announcement. He revealed he’d be transitioning from a producer role in WWE to a coach for NXT talent.

This job is crucial as NXT is now being used as a developmental system to prep the stars of tomorrow for the main roster.

D-Von has seen and done it all, so one figures WWE puts great trust in him to help get the talent ready for the callup.

  • WWE Considering Calling up Two NXT Names for Main Roster

WWE Considering Calling up Two NXT Names for Main Roster

Two NXT prospects are said to be on the radar of WWE management for potential callups to the main roster.

WWE has made many changes to NXT over the years. The brand has gone from the black and gold look to a more colorful vibe. With its current iteration also came a change in direction.

NXT is now a true developmental system, preparing stars for the main roster. It’s no longer considered its own top brand filled with high-level indie talent and international stars.

It appears WWE feels two NXT talents have been doing well enough to potentially earn main roster spots.

Sanaga & Xyon Quinn to the Main Roster?

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio is reporting that WWE management is mulling over the possibility of adding Sanga and Xyon Quinn to the main roster.

Furthermore, Meltzer claims WWE sees Quinn as “the total package.”

Sanga and Quinn shared the ring on the June 28 episode of NXT 2.0. Sanga emerged victorious.

It’s unknown which brands are being discussed should Sanga and Xyon Quinn make the jump to the main roster.

At the moment, SmackDown is depleted of babyfaces so perhaps Sanga could be a good fit there but nothing has been confirmed.

  • Reason Why Jim Ross Changed Roles on AEW TV This Week

Reason Why Jim Ross Changed Roles on AEW TV This Week

Fans who watched Forbidden Door and AEW Dynamite may have noticed something different about Jim Ross’ appearances.

The legendary play-by-play ace has been in the AEW booth since the company was founded back in 2019. He took some time off to battle and defeat skin cancer but he was back in the saddle quickly.

What had some fans puzzled, however, was the fact that JR didn’t do commentary for Forbidden Door until later on in the show, and he only appeared on Dynamite for the main event.

Ross remained on commentary for the Rampage tapings as well, which is something he isn’t used to doing.

Latest on Jim Ross’ AEW Role

In an update, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that AEW is simply experimenting with the commentary team. For now, it appears Jim Ross will be doing the second hour of Dynamite, followed by the entire hour of Rampage.

There’s no word on exactly what AEW is looking for with this experiment. It’s been apparent that Rampage has struggled in viewership due to the 10 p.m. ET Friday night time slot.

Many of the Rampage shows haven’t been stacked either and have felt like glorified B-level shows. The July 1 episode will be an exception, however, as that show actually has some significance.

A Royal Rampage match will take place to determine the number one contender for Jon Moxley’s interim AEW World Championship. There will also be a non-title match between AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks and NJPW’s Hiroki Goto & Yosh-Hashi.

Toni Storm will also be in action as she’ll share the ring with Nyla Rose.

Could an AEW faction be on the verge of getting a new member?

When it comes to several wrestling promotions, factions are tried and true. AEW is no exception as there are plenty of stables within the company. Members of factions come and go and one group could be adding a new member.

With that said, this potential member likely won’t have an easy time getting into the faction.

    Fresh Name For The Baddies?

During the Blood & Guts edition of AEW Dynamite, Jade Cargill successfully defended her TBS Championship against Leila Grey. After the match, Jade and her manager Stokely Hathaway, cut a promo before being interrupted by Kris Statlander and Athena.

Hathaway convinced Grey to stop Athena from hitting her finishing move on Jade. Grey shoved Athena off the top rope and attacked her before Cargill shoved her away.

Grey went to shake Stokely’s hand but Jade once again shoved her away.

Stokley has been seeking a new addition for The Baddies. The faction is down one less member after Red Velvet suffered an injury.

Fans will now wait to see whether Leila Grey got played or if she’ll have to work harder to gain the trust of The Baddies.

Several AEW Stars Stricken With COVID-19

The decision-makers over at AEW are certainly earning their money.

The company’s movers and shakers have to be thinking to themselves, “if it’s not one thing, it’s another.” AEW has been hindered by a slew of injuries, forcing the promotion to have a change of plans.

The likes of AEW World Champion CM Punk, Adam Cole, Jungle Boy, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish, and others have recently been out of action due to injury. While injuries are bound to happen in the wrestling industry, several key injuries are happening all at once in AEW.

To top it all off, the company had to deal with several of its stars being unavailable for the Blood & Guts episode of Dynamite due to COVID-19.

    COVID-19 Strikes AEW

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that several AEW talents weren’t available for the June 29 episode of Dynamite due to COVID-19.

This explains why the company didn’t advertise much outside of the actual Blood & Guts match until mere hours before the show.

At this time, there is no word on who exactly caught COVID-19 and who had been planned to perform on the show but couldn’t.

Fortunately for AEW, none of the main eventers were impacted by the COVID-19 wave. There was still some bad news even in that match, however, as Santana appeared to suffer a leg injury and had to be helped to the back.

Joey Ryan Has Been Fired From His Job at Disneyland

Joey Ryan has been out of work in the wrestling business and now he longer has his gig at Disneyland.

Images had been surfacing of Ryan working for the Jungle Cruise attraction. Fans were quick to jump on the pics and react negatively as Ryan had been accused of sexual misconduct during the Speaking Out movement back in 2020.

Several accusations cost Ryan his job with Impact Wrestling and pretty much blackballed him from the wrestling industry.

The LA Times reports that Joey Ryan had been working at Disneyland for three months on a probationary period. A Disneyland spokesperson confirmed to the news outlet that Ryan is no longer working for them.

The spokesperson did not comment on whether or not the accusations played a role in Ryan being fired.

It was also said that during Disneyland’s screening process for Ryan’s hire, the harassment accusations were not brought up.

It has been quite the fall from grace for Joey Ryan. He went from being one of the most beloved indie wrestlers to becoming public enemy number one due to the horror stories from those who accused him of sexual misconduct.
