Cody Rhodes Deletes Instagram Story Saying He is ‘Retired’

Former AEW EVP Cody Rhodes has deleted an Instagram Story where he teases that he might be retired from pro wrestling.

Rhodes leaving All Elite Wrestling has been the biggest story of the past week; with the shock of a top-level member of the AEW management team deciding not to renew their contract.

Cody Rhodes posted an image on his Instagram of his child and pet dog with the caption “this is what RETIREMENT looks like.”

Although it is likely that Rhodes is just trolling fans, it is certainly not out of the realms of possibility for the former WWE Superstar to be hanging up the boots.

Check out the image via the tweet below:

Cody Rhodes Teases Retirement

It is not currently known what Rhodes’ next step will be. The prevailing thought is that he will be making the move to WWE.

There are a number of backstage personnel in WWE who have been jumping for joy since the news of Cody leaving was revealed.

It was also claimed by Andrew Zarian on the We’re Live Pal podcast that it was WWE who wanted to get the story of Cody leaving before AEW themselves were able to issue an official statement. Which turned out to be successful.

Hopefully, we’ll find out more about Cody’s next career move in the coming weeks ahead of WrestleMania 38 in April.

Becky Lynch Reacts to Upcoming WrestleMania 38 Match

WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch took to social media to react to the news that she will be facing Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 38.

Belair won the Women’s Elimination Chamber event during the Premium Live Event on Saturday night and is now the #1 contender to Lynch’s title.

Taking to social media, Lynch would react to the news that she will be facing the former SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Becky pointed out that this will be a match between the only two women to ever win a WrestleMania main event, giving the contest some gravitas beyond the title stipulation.

She wrote: “Congratulations Bianca. The only two women to win the main event of #WrestleMania go head to head in the main event of #WrestleMania. Maybe this time I’ll beat my own record.”

Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair

There was an expectation that Ronda Rousey would be challenging Lynch at the event, but recent reports have claimed that Lynch vs Rousey is being pencilled in for WrestleMania 39 in 2023.

Whoever wins between Lynch and Belair at WrestleMania 38 will be in the history books as the first woman to ever win two WrestleMania main event matches.

As of writing, it is looking like WWE will be putting the RAW title on Belair, avenging her loss back at SummerSlam 2021 against ‘Big Time Becks.’

Riddle Reacts to Working With Brock Lesnar at Elimination Chamber

WWE RAW Superstar Riddle finally got his opportunity to face Brock Lesnar for an extended period of time at the Elimination Chamber event this weekend.

Riddle has in the past stated his want to be the man to retire the Beast Incarnate, words that have apparently not exactly gone over well with Brock.

Speaking on the After The Bell podcast back in 2020, Riddle discussed how Lesnar felt ‘disrespected’ by the comments. “I’ll be honest with you. The guy has it all. I think he’s taken my comments as like, literal disrespect” Riddle began.

“I think he really hates me. Which, hey, ok. I get it, I rubbed you the wrong way. I told everybody that I get it, I’ll stay away. So I won’t call people out anymore,” Riddle concluded.

Riddle on Brock Lesnar

Lesnar now appears to be in a place where he is happy to work with the former RAW Tag Team Champion.

Both men were part of the Men’s Elimination Chamber match at the Premium Live Event from Saudi Arabia, which would see Lesnar leave as the WWE Champion.

Taking to social media to react to the contest, Riddle would write “Look at us now! Never Say Never bro.”

It is not known what Riddle will be doing at WrestleMania 38, although a match against his tag team partner Randy Orton appears to be the direction that the company is going in.

Hulk Hogan Claims He Is the “Second Best Pro Wrestler of All Time”

2x WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan recently claimed that he is the second-best professional wrestler of all time.

During a night out with the ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair, the ‘Immortal’ Hogan claimed on a club’s PA that he was the second-best ever and that Flair was the greatest of all time.

“Well, let me tell you something brother! I want everybody in here, on the one, two, three, to give me a ‘Wooo!’ for the greatest wrestler of all time. One! Two! Three! Wooo! Hey, thank you guys for coming out” Hulk stated whilst out partying with the Nature Boy.

“This is the greatest wrestler of all time, Ric Flair” the former WCW and WWE Champion continued, praising Flair.

Hulk Hogan on Ric Flair

Hogan also claimed that Stone Cold Steve Austin was the third greatest ever, saying “In honour of the third greatest wrestler ever, ’cause he’s #1, I’m #2. In honour of the third greatest wrestler of all time, that no good Rattlesnake, Steve Austin. Somebody give me a hell yeah!” Hogan concluded.

Check out the video below to see the Hulkster out partying with Flair and making some pretty big claims about the pro wrestling industry.

It’s likely that we will never see any of the three men back in a pro wrestling ring ever again.

But, do you agree with Hogan? If not who is your top three picks for the best professional wrestlers of all time? Let us know in the comments.

Botch from Pre-Taped SmackDown Goes Viral

Next week’s episode of WWE SmackDown has already been taped in advance, as the company will be heading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Elimination Chamber on Saturday 19th February.

One of the segments that were taped for next week’s show saw Naomi, Sonya Deville, Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey take part in what appears to be a contract signing for their match at the Elimination Chamber show.

Unfortunately, there was an extremely noticeable botch during the segment, when Rousey tried to slam Flair’s head on the desk in the middle of the ring.

SmackDown Botch

As you can see via the tweet below, the execution of the spot was horrendous, and it has since been going viral on Twitter.

It’s extremely likely that WWE will edit the segment as much as possible to avoid this going out on television next week, but with this fan cam footage, we can see just how bad the spot really was live.

Hopefully, the match between the four women at the Elimination Chamber PPV event itself won’t be quite so botchtastic.

Here is the current card for the Elimination Chamber 2022 event:

  • WWE Champion Elimination Chamber Match: Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins vs. Austin Theory vs. Riddle vs. AJ Styles vs. Bobby Lashley ©
  • WWE Raw Women’s Championship Number #1 Contender’s Elimination Chamber Match:  Doudrop vs. Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Nikki A.S.H. vs. Bianca Belair vs. TBA – The winner will receive a WrestleMania 38 title match for the WWE Raw Women’s Title.
  • Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg
  • Raw Women’s Championship Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs WWE Hall of Famer Lita
  • SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos (c) vs The Viking Raiders
  • SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair & Sonya Deville vs. Ronda Rousey & Naomi
  • Madcap Moss vs. Drew McIntyre

The Miz Talks Recent Releases from WWE

WWE Superstar The Miz recently discussed the recent releases from the company over the past 6 months.

Several major names were let go, including Mike Mizanin’s tag team partner John Morrison.

Speaking to The Rich Eisen Show, The Miz talked about the releases from the company and seeing his colleagues being let go.

“It’s always tough when your friends and your colleagues get released,” The Miz began, discussing the releases.

“But you always wish for the best for them and you just, you do what you do. You just keep going, you know? Like my buddy John Morrison, he got released. He was my tag team partner for a very long time. When he got released, I was like, ‘ah man’, you know?” Miz continued.

The Miz on WWE Releases

“But I know John and I know the type of person he is and I know he’ll succeed in everything that he does, right? And so, you always wish the best for them.

“And, for me in WWE, like, when you go to Monday Night RAW, ‘alright. What am I doing? How do I make this something that the live audience who paid money for their seats can get something out of this? Can really sink their teeth into, you know, and have a memory?'” The former WWE Champion concluded.

It is expected that Morrison will be heading to IMPACT or AEW once his non-compete is over, although this has not as of yet been officially confirmed.

Montez Ford Reveals Conversation with Johnny Knoxville Before the Royal Rumble

WWE Superstar Montez Ford recently discussed a conversation he had with Jackass star Johnny Knoxville ahead of the Royal Rumble event.

Speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast, Ford revealed how big a fan he is of the Jackass show and how much he enjoyed meeting the face of the programme.

“He was all game. The cool part about it, I was telling him, ‘Hey man, me and my sister used to stay up late nights to watch MTV, MTV 2, and watch Jackass and The Wild Boys, and everything’” Montez began.

“Like, all night, and we’d see all the crazy scenarios that they did. So for me to have that moment was just like full circle, all the childhood nostalgia all the way around. But he was all game, man” Montez revealed.

Montez Ford on Johnny Knoxville

“He was like, ‘Hey guys, if I am in there, I am in your guys’ world. Don’t let up on me, I want the real thing.’ He said, ‘I have spent my whole entire career hurting other people.’ He’s a great guy, all for it. It’s always cool too to have people from different worlds come in” the former RAW Tag Team Champion continued.

“People that you’ve grown up and watched and come across people that are fans of the business, to come across and just be so welcoming to our world and everything.

“It was cool. He said he was ready to come back too, so I guess we need to lay the smackdown a little bit harder next time” the Street Profits member concluded.

Serena Deeb Talks Tony Khan “Embracing” Deeper Storytelling in AEW Women’s Division

AEW star Serena Deeb recently discussed how Tony Khan has “embraced” having deeper storytelling in the All Elite Women’s division.

Speaking to Tuesday Wrestling Tuesday, Deeb said that the Women’s division is much better in All Elite now that it is more than just “one-off” matches.

“That was the thing for a while where it was just one-off matches” Serena Deeb began. “And the fact that Tony embraced wanting to do more and wanted to put some, some deeper storytelling in there is really cool.

“Hopefully, that continues for other people as well. I think just from an emotional investment standpoint for the fans, one-off matches are great” Deeb noted.

Serena Deeb on

“Especially if they’re dream matches, right? Like Bryan Danielson versus Kenny Omega. Like that’s a dream match, people want to see that and even one time, these people are going to love it. But I think, historically speaking in wrestling, if you look back on the Attitude Era, for example, there were stories and feuds that went on for a year.

“And people stayed emotionally invested as long as there was something compelling to pay attention to. So I think it’s a great sign. I’ve seen it also across other stories in the women’s division and as of late and it’s great. I think a lot of wrestling fans appreciate that” the former WWE Superstar concluded.

Brie Bella “Not Sure” if She Will Be Back on WWE Programming

WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella recently discussed her return to the company as part of the WWE Royal Rumble match on Saturday 29th January.

Whilst discussing her time in the 30-woman match, Brie revealed that she wanted to make the most of it as she didn’t know if she would be back.

Talking about getting to go at it in the ring with Ronda Rousey, she said “I’ll say, like, after I got you [Nikki Bella] out, which was really fun” Brie Bella began.

“I didn’t know if I’d ever get my moment again with this because I never know when I’m gonna get the call to come back” Brie continued.

“And it could never be. It was just too perfect, Nikki. It was too perfect, I’m sorry” the former WWE Superstar concluded.

Brie Bella on WWE Return

It is not currently known if WWE will be bringing back Brie or Nikki Bella at any time in the near future.

Both women have expressed their desire to try and go for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, so it is likely that we will see them both back at some point.

WrestleMania 38 would certainly make sense for a big tag team match for the twins, and it would potentially be a spot on the ‘Mania card for Carmella and Queen Zelina if they are still tag champs by that point.

Powerhouse Hobbs Pushes Back on Claims that AEW Lacks Diversity

AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs is addressing some of the criticisms that have been levied at All Elite Wrestling and Tony Khan in recent months.

The issues mainly stem from a perceived lack of diversity in the company, which has been brought up by several former names in the company such as Big Swole and Lio Rush.

Speaking to the Tuesday Wrestling Tuesday, Hobbs gave his own qualified perspective.

“I can only speak from my own experience. So I don’t know about anybody else’s experience in the company,” Hobbs began. “I can tell you from my experience that everything has been really well.

“I’ve had ideas that I’ve pitched that worked. I’ve had ideas that I’ve pitched that haven’t worked. Overall, the company is very diverse.”

Powerhouse Hobbs on Diversity in AEW

Hobbs also went to bat for AEW President Tony Khan. He can only speak from his personal experience, but he’s completely satisfied with what he’s seen in AEW.

“As I said before, Tony Khan has been very fair to me. I can’t speak about anyone else’s situation. I can only speak on mine. The same thing can be said with Google, with Facebook, with any company. It can be said with any company on this planet.

“What I said is what I said, and that’s just from my personal experience. I will back that up a hundred per cent, a thousand, million times over again” the Team Taz member concluded.

Tony Khan has not discussed the situation publicly since the tweet where he previously referenced Big Swole.

Mickie James Reveals Rumble Spot She “Didn’t Love”

Former WWE Superstar and IMPACT Knockouts Champion Mickie James recently discussed her involvement in the WWE Royal Rumble match back on Saturday 29th January.

Speaking on her GAW TV show alongside SoCal Val and Victoria, Mickie revealed a moment in the match that she was not a big fan of.

“I didn’t love that at all [Melina being eliminated after 53 seconds],” Mickie began. “I did love that, you know, her entrance, people did exactly what we knew they were going to do. They erupted, like ‘holys**t’, it was so good to see her back.

“She hadn’t been in WWE for over a decade, so I think that was amazing to see her get teared up, and, it was awesome” the IMPACT Knockouts Champion continued.

Mickie James on Melina Elimination

“I didn’t love the whole she got eliminated first, no I didn’t love that because obviously as I wanted to be able to be in there with her and tangle it up, and I want her to have those moments with some of the other girls, you know.

“I know it was special for Sasha, and I know Sasha, I know it was special for Sasha to be in there with her” James concluded.

It has not been revealed if WWE is planning on bringing Melina back for any more segments or matches going forward. Right now, it appears as though it will be a one-off for the former WWE diva.

Producers Revealed for WWE Royal Rumble 2022 Matches

WWE held their annual Royal Rumble event this weekend from The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri, and now the producers for all six of the matches on the card have been revealed.

The following people were responsible for putting together the matches at the Royal Rumble, per Fightful Select:

  • Michael Hayes and Petey Williams produced the Universal Championship match between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns
  • Finlay, Shane Helms, Molly Holly, Pat Buck, and Michael Hayes produced the Women’s Royal Rumble Match.

Royal Rumble 2022 Producers

  • Pat Buck and Shawn Daivari produced The Raw Women’s Championship match between Becky Lynch and Doudrop
  • Michael Hayes and Jason Jordan produced the WWE Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley
  • Adam Pearce and Kenny Dykstra produced Edge and Beth Phoenix vs. The Miz & Maryse
  • Abyss, Jamie Noble, Shawn Daivari, and Adam Pearce produced the Men’s Royal Rumble Match.

Many believe that the Women’s Rumble match outshone the Men’s match on the 4+ hour card, and it is interesting that there were completely different agents working on both.

Molly Holly would of course appear in the match itself as well as produce what happened on the night. Holly was attacked by Nikki A.S.H. shortly before he entered the ring, and would be eliminated by the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion shortly after.

Mickie James Reacts to WWE Royal Rumble Appearance

IMPACT Knockouts Champion Mickie James made a historic appearance as part of the 30-woman Royal Rumble match on Saturday night.

James became the first woman in the contest’s history to appear whilst representing the top title of another promotion.

Following the contest, James spoke to Megan Morant about representing IMPACT Wrestling at the WWE Premium Live Event.

Mickie James Makes History at the Royal Rumble

“Unbelievable, unbelievable,” James began, explaining how it felt. “If you would’ve said to me that this moment would be happening right now, I would’ve said you’re insane. And here we are.

“We went out there and made history. I mean obviously, I wanted to win, I had my sights set high because obviously the winner goes on to WrestleMania, and I wanted that moment, but just to go out there as WWE family, as Mickie James – the legend, but also as Mickie James… ‘Hardcore Country’ Mickie James, something that the WWE Universe never saw, and to represent Impact as the Knockouts World Champion…

“I thought I did a great job, I had a heck of a showing and I’m sorry guys, I didn’t win, but in my heart the world won because we just broke down one of the biggest ceilings you’ve ever seen, and we did it for the ladies! You know what I mean?”

Update on Bobby Lashley’s WrestleMania 38 Booking Plans

WWE RAW Superstar Bobby Lashley defeated Brock Lesnar to win back the WWE Championship at this weekend’s Royal Rumble event.

Lashley won the match when Roman Reigns interfered and re-aligned himself with Paul Heyman, setting up a showdown between the Head of The Table and the Beast Incarnate at WrestleMania 38.

The Men’s Royal Rumble match would headline the night, and Lesnar would take the win in the 30-man contest.

With all of that happening, it leaves Lashley and his WWE Championship in a bit of a void ahead of the WrestleMania event in Dallas, Texas.

Bobby Lashley WrestleMania 38

WrestleVotes recently revealed that WWE still do not know what the situation is regarding the WWE title and who Lashley will be facing at ‘Mania.

They tweeted: “Lesnar had to be the winner here. I’m told they legitimately have no idea what the WWE Title match at Mania is going to be at this point. Avoid the old pigeon hole.”

We’ll hopefully get more of an indication of who Lashley will face at WrestleMania in the coming weeks, with his opponent possibly set to be decided at the Elimination Chamber event in Saudi Arabia.

Fightful Select confirmed just before the show went live that Gresham would not be appearing.

They wrote: “Jonathan Gresham is not at tonight’s show. We’re told that Lio Rush was expected to replace him as of this weekend, which is why G-Raver took Lio’s spot in the ladder match.”

Killer Kross Wants to Be a More “Complete Version” of Himself post-WWE

Former WWE NXT Champion Killer Kross/Karrion Kross recently discussed his plans post-WWE, with him wanting to round out his character and in-ring performance even more.

Speaking on the Wrassle Rap podcast, the former NXT and RAW Superstar revealed “I learned so much in my entire experience with that company, with NXT and the main roster.

“I feel like a more complete version of myself actually going through that entire experience. There were different challenges on the main roster than there were in NXT” Kross continued.

Killer Kross on Post-WWE

“One of them, and this might not translate to a lot of people but this is like, just having your times changed when you’re out there” Kross noted.

“And that happened pretty frequently. Having the confidence to go out there and perform live while the entire world is watching, and change things on the fly when somebody else’s life is completely in your hands. There’s just a lot going on” Kross revealed of his time on the main roster.

It is not yet confirmed where Kross will be appearing next, however, the chances of a return to IMPACT Wrestling is certainly not out of the question.

AEW is another potential option for the former NXT Superstar, but it is not known if All Elite and Tony Khan are interested in bringing him into the company.

Rey Mysterio Names His ‘Dream’ WrestleMania Moment

WWE and WCW Legend Rey Mysterio recently revealed his ‘dream’ WrestleMania moment, which unsurprisingly includes his son Dominik.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Mysterio revealed that he wants to have a match at the iconic event alongside his flesh and blood.

“There is definitely a WrestleMania moment that has yet to be seen next to my son,” Mysterio began the interview.

“That is something that if you would have told me a year ago, that I was going to be able to share the ring with my son, let alone become tag-team champions – the first-ever in WWE – I would have said, ‘get out of here,'” Mysterio added.

Rey Mysterio WrestleMania Moment

“Now things have just flourished and have manifested,” Mysterio continued. “I’m putting this out in the world that I want to have a WrestleMania moment with my son before I end up hanging up the mask.”

Mysterio is no stranger to major WrestleMania moments, with the former WCW Cruiserweight Champion having matches against the likes of Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle and Randy Orton at the Showcase of The Immortals.

Getting the opportunity to share the ring with his son will of course be the most sentimental WrestleMania moment he could hope to have.

It remains to be seen if WWE will honor the request from the Luchador legend, but it would certainly make sense for the Mysterios to have a match of some form on this year’s WrestleMania 38 card.

Gisele Shaw Debuts for IMPACT Wrestling

Gisele Shaw officially made her debut for IMPACT Wrestling as part of the recent television tapings that took place.

Shaw appeared on the entrance ramp after Lady Frost defeated Alisha Edwards, Gisele would pose in front of Lady Frost while ignoring her, then leave.

Gisele Shaw is currently the PROGRESS Wrestling Women’s Champion and will be appearing for the company at their Sunday 6th February show in Manchester, England.

It is not currently confirmed if Shaw is now officially signed to the company or whether this will be a short run.

Gisele Shaw IMPACT

It is also not confirmed if Shaw will be dropping the PROGRESS Women’s Championship, or whether she will be able to honor the dates she is already booked for to drop the title.

Rhio and Mercedez Blaze are set to collide at today’s PROGRESS live show return in the Revelations of Divine Love tournament final. The winner of that bout will go on to face Shaw for the title on Sunday 6th February.

It is not known when the episode of IMPACT Wrestling featuring the debut of Gisele Shaw will be aired, but it will likely be in the coming weeks ahead of the No Surrender event on Saturday February 19th.

Liv Morgan Praises Mandy Roses’ NXT Title Run

WWE RAW Superstar Liv Morgan recently discussed Mandy Rose returning to NXT and the former main roster Superstar’s run as NXT Women’s Champion.

Speaking on Robbie Fox’s “My Mom’s Basement” podcast, the former Riott Squad member said that Rose is doing a “phenomenal” job as Champion.

“I love, I absolutely love Mandy Rose as NXT Women’s Champion, I think she’s doing so phenomenal” Liv Morgan revealed.

“I think she has grown so much too, just in the last couple of months. Being put in this position of, you know, you’re like the ‘top b-tch’ you’re the ‘head b-tch in charge’. You know this is your division. And so, I think that this is cool, I enjoy watching it and it feels refreshing” Morgan added.

Liv Morgan vs Becky Lynch

Morgan is expected to be challenging for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship at the Royal Rumble event against Becky Lynch.

There is a chance however that the match could be changed, as the ending to their WWE Day 1 contest was botched and Lynch appeared to just get a clean pinfall win over Morgan rather than with her foot on the ropes, giving Morgan an out to get another match.

Alexa Bliss Teases Character Return on WWE RAW

WWE Superstar Alexa Bliss is set to make her return on WWE RAW tonight. The former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion will be making her return to the company after leaving following the Extreme Rules 2021 PPV event, where she lost to Charlotte Flair.

Bliss left the company reportedly to get sinus surgery, although it was played off in the storyline that Bliss could no longer appear on WWE programming after the destruction of her doll, Lily.

The former Women’s Champion alluded to The Fiend-esque character that she was playing prior to her leaving the company returning tonight on RAW.

Alexa Bliss Tweets

“Dear Monday Night RAW,” Alexa Bliss tweeted. “Starting tonight…she’s officially YOUR problem now. Good luck.”

It’s not confirmed if Bliss is referring to Lily, herself, or a different character that she will be portraying when she returns. There’s also a chance that Bliss could be coming back alongside another current WWE Superstar or someone from NXT 2.0, but that remains to be seen.

The tweet from Bliss showed her in the same gimmick that she was portraying just before she left WWE programming, but this may of course be a rouse from the former Women’s Champion.

Mickie James Retains Knockouts Title at Hard To Kill

IMPACT Knockouts Champion Mickie James retained her Championship in the main event of the Hard To Kill PPV event in Texas.

James defended the title against Deonna Purrazzo in a Texas Deathmatch, with both women taking massive bumps throughout.

The finish saw Mickie hit her Mick Kick followed by the Mick-DT, gaining the 3 count and then burying Purrazzo underneath a broken table and chairs to stop her from answering the 10 count.

James now heads into the 30-Woman Royal Rumble match for WWE at the end of the month, being the first-ever reigning IMPACT Knockouts Champion to do so.
