Oba Femi Wins the Men’s Iron Survivor Match at WWE NXT Deadline 2024

Oba Femi has emerged victorious in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge at WWE NXT Deadline 2024, solidifying his position as a top contender for the NXT Championship. The event, held on December 7, 2024, at The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota, showcased some of NXT’s brightest talents in a grueling 25-minute contest.

The Iron Survivor Challenge Format

The Iron Survivor Challenge, a unique match format introduced in 2022, pits five competitors against each other in a race to score the most points through pinfalls or submissions.

The match begins with two wrestlers and introduces a new participant every five minutes, adding layers of strategy and excitement as the bout progresses.

Participants and Match Highlights

The match featured Wes Lee, Je’Von Evans, Nathan Frazer, Ethan Page, and Eddy Thorpe in this year’s men’s challenge.

Despite storyline concerns about Thorpe’s participation due to a mysterious attack prior to the event, all five men brought their A-game to the ring.

Implications for NXT Championship

By winning the Iron Survivor Challenge, Femi has earned a shot at the NXT Championship. This victory adds to his impressive resume in NXT and positions him as a serious threat to the current champion, Trick Williams.

The championship match is expected to take place at the upcoming NXT New Year’s Evil event, setting the stage for an explosive start to 2025 in NXT.

Superstar Returns During Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge at WWE NXT Deadline 2024

Oba Femi has made a shock entry into the WWE NXT Deadline 2024 Men’s Iron Survivor match after Eddy Thorpe was ruled out of the contest.

The former NXT North American Champion has been absent since Halloween Havoc, and fans WERE speculating whether he WOULD make a dramatic comeback at Deadline or if he was destined for a main roster call-up in the near future.

WWE Transfer Window: 5 Moves We Want to See

The newly announced WWE Transfer Window is set to shake up the rosters of RAW, SmackDown, and NXT. With exciting possibilities on the horizon, here are five moves we are eager to see happen.

Read More – WWE Transfer Window Opens: Major Changes Ahead

Chad Gable to SmackDown

Chad Gable and the rest of American Made should really be moving over to the Blue brand and Friday nights. Gable has been languishing somewhat since his stellar feud with Sami Zayn earlier this year and he could be freshened up on a different brand.

Oba Femi to RAW

Oba Femi, a towering star from NXT, should be making the jump to RAW. After a successful run as NXT North American Champion, Femi’s powerful presence and athleticism make him a perfect fit for the main roster.

His potential debut on RAW could introduce him as a formidable force in the division, setting the stage for exciting rivalries with established stars

Cora Jade from NXT to SmackDown

Cora Jade has been a standout in NXT and is beyond ready for a main roster opportunity. Her move to SmackDown would not only enhance the women’s division but also allow her to showcase her talent against top competitors like Charlotte Flair (when she returns) and Bianca Belair.

Jade’s charisma and in-ring ability would undoubtedly make her an asset on Friday nights.

LA Knight to RAW

Having just lost his US Title to Shinsuke Nakamura, a move over to Raw and Monday nights would make sense for LA Knight…yeah. With the Netflix deal just a month or so away it would make sense for someone with his abilities on the microphone to be prominently featured for the new audience that could be coming to the product.

Roman Reigns to RAW

Lastly, moving Roman Reigns back to RAW would put the biggest star on the roster on the new Netflix show. As one of the biggest stars in wrestling today, Reigns’ presence on RAW would create major buzz and elevate the brand’s profile ahead of that transition from TV to streaming. His potential rivalries with top talents could lead to blockbuster matches that fans are eager to see, especially against the likes of CM Punk.

Triple H Reportedly a “Very Big Fan” of NXT Superstar

WWE NXT fans have been wondering about the whereabouts of rising star Oba Femi, who has been noticeably absent from recent tapings. However, there’s no cause for alarm regarding his status with the company.

Femi’s last appearance was at the Halloween Havoc Premium Live Event, where he faced Tony D’Angelo in a high-stakes match. Since then, he hasn’t been seen at NXT shows, leading to speculation about his future.

Current Situation

Contrary to rumors, Femi hasn’t left NXT or the WWE. A new report from Fightful Select, Femi is currently enjoying some well-deserved time off in his home country of Nigeria. There’s no indication of any injury or visa issues preventing his return to the ring.

Return Timeline

While an exact date hasn’t been specified, sources suggest that Femi’s return to NXT television will be “sooner rather than later”7. This news should reassure fans eagerly awaiting his comeback.

Contract Status and WWE’s Perspective

Although there’s some uncertainty about Femi’s current contract status, insiders would be surprised if WWE hadn’t extended his initial 2021 deal7. This confidence stems from the high regard in which Femi is held within the company.

Impressive Track Record

Oba Femi has consistently impressed NXT officials, including producers and Shawn Michaels. His talent hasn’t gone unnoticed by top WWE executives either, with Triple H reportedly being a significant supporter of the young star, with Fightful claiming that he is a “very big fan” of the former NXT North American Champion.

WWE NXT Deadline 2024: Final Match Card, How to Watch

WWE presents NXT Deadline 2024 tonight from The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota. With championships at stake, Iron Survivor Challenges set to redefine the brand’s landscape, and deeply personal rivalries coming to a head, this premium live event is a must-watch spectacle to close out the year.

How to Watch: Deadline streams live on Peacock on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 7pm ET. There is also a kickoff pre-show.

NXT Championship Match: Trick Williams (c) vs. Ridge Holland

Headlining the premium live event, Trick Williams defends his NXT Championship against the imposing Ridge Holland. The champion’s condition is uncertain after Holland viciously slammed him onto the commentary desk during the final NXT episode before Deadline. Despite being stretchered out, Williams is determined to compete, setting the stage for high drama in tonight’s main event showdown.

Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge: Wes Lee, Je’Von Evans, Nathan Frazer, Ethan Page, Eddy Thorpe

A coveted future NXT Championship opportunity is on the line as five rising stars battle in the revolutionary Iron Survivor Challenge. Each competitor will have 25 minutes to secure the most falls. However, Eddy Thorpe’s readiness is in question after a backstage assault earlier this week. Who will seize the chance to ascend to the top of NXT?

Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge: Sol Ruca, Stephanie Vaquer, Zaria, Giulia, Wren Sinclair

The women’s division takes center stage in another Iron Survivor Challenge, with the winner earning a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. Wren Sinclair claimed her spot in controversial fashion after a last-chance qualifier mishap involving Lola Vice. With such a formidable field, the battle to define the future of the division is bound to be fierce.

NXT Tag Team Championship: The Super Sonic Duo (Axiom & Nathan Frazer) (c) vs. The No Quarter Catch Crew (Myles Borne & Tavion Heights)

The tag team division heats up as Axiom and Nathan Frazer defend their titles against the ambitious duo of Myles Borne and Tavion Heights. After surviving a grueling Battle Royal to earn this opportunity, Borne and Heights are ready to challenge the champions. Expect an exhilarating showcase of high-flying maneuvers and seamless teamwork.

NXT Underground: Lola Vice vs. Jaida Parker

In the unforgiving confines of NXT Underground, Lola Vice and Jaida Parker will finally settle their feud. Stripped of the pageantry of a traditional match, this clash will test their raw intensity and grit as they battle for dominance in a no-holds-barred environment.

Iron Survivor Challenge Predictions

The Iron Survivor Challenge matches are undoubtedly the most talked-about aspects of NXT Deadline. In the men’s division, Wes Lee has emerged as a fan favorite and potential winner.

His recent momentum and ability to play a convincing heel have many speculating that he could be on the path to main event status. Meanwhile, Je’Von Evans and Nathan Frazer are also generating buzz as potential dark horses who could surprise everyone with a victory.

For the women’s Iron Survivor Challenge, Stephanie Vaquer has been gaining traction as the frontrunner.

Her impressive performances in recent months have not gone unnoticed by fans. However, the debut of Giulia in this format adds an intriguing element to the match, given her established reputation outside of WWE.

Championship Match Speculation

The NXT Championship match between Trick Williams and Ridge Holland has fans talking, but not necessarily about a potential title change.

The prevailing sentiment is that it’s too soon for Holland to dethrone Williams, who only recently reclaimed the title from Ethan Page. Many see this match as an opportunity for Williams to solidify his position as a cornerstone of NXT’s future.

Potential Surprises and Returns

One of the most exciting rumors circulating is the potential return of Oba Femi. The former NXT North American Champion has been absent since Halloween Havoc, and fans are speculating whether he’ll make a dramatic comeback at Deadline or if he’s destined for a main roster call-up.

The WWE NXT Iron Survivor Challenge is an innovative match concept introduced by WWE legend Shawn Michaels in 2022. This unique contest combines elements of an iron man match and a gauntlet match, creating an exciting and fast-paced competition that tests the endurance, skill, and strategy of NXT superstars.

Origins and Concept

NXT Underground matches were introduced as a way to bring a new level of excitement and realism to WWE’s developmental brand, NXT.

The concept draws inspiration from the short-lived Raw Underground segments that aired in 2020, which featured shoot-style wrestling in a gritty, underground fight club atmosphere.

Rules and Format

NXT Underground matches differ from standard WWE matches in several key ways:

  1. The match takes place in a modified ring without ropes or turnbuckles.
  2. Competitors typically wear MMA-style gear rather than traditional wrestling attire.
  3. Matches can be won by knockout, submission, or referee stoppage.
  4. There are no count-outs or disqualifications.

Notable NXT Underground Matches

One of the most significant NXT Underground matches took place at NXT Battleground 2024, featuring Lola Vice against Shayna Baszler.

This match showcased the intense, hard-hitting style that NXT Underground is known for, with both competitors utilizing their extensive MMA backgrounds.

Impact on WWE Programming

NXT Underground matches have added a new dimension to WWE’s product, appealing to fans of both professional wrestling and mixed martial arts.

These matches often feature performers with legitimate combat sports backgrounds, lending an air of authenticity to the proceedings.

Training and Preparation

Competitors in NXT Underground matches often undergo specialized training to prepare for the unique demands of this format.

This may include additional striking and grappling practice, as well as conditioning work to maintain a high level of intensity throughout the match.

Future of NXT Underground

As NXT continues to evolve, it’s likely that Underground matches will remain a part of the brand’s identity.

These matches provide a platform for performers to showcase their skills in a different context, potentially leading to new storylines and character development opportunities.

The two headliners would be the Women’s and Men’s WarGames matches respectively, with Team Rhea Ripley vs Team Liv Morgan and Team OG Bloodline vs The New Bloodline bookmarking the show from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.

Survivor Series Results

Here are the full results from WWE Survivor Series WarGames:

  • Women’s WarGames MatchRhea Ripley herself would take the win for her team after hitting a Riptide on Liv Morgan from the top rope through a table.
  • United States Championship Match: Shinsuke Nakamura b. LA Knight – Nakamura would take the win after hitting the Kinshasa to become the NEW United States Champion.
  • Intercontinental Championship Match: Bron Breakker b. Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser – Breakker would get the win after hitting a Spear on Sheamus for the 1, 2, 3, but not before he hit a hellacious version of the move on Kaiser.
  • World Heavyweight Championship Match: Gunther b. Damian Priest – Gunther would retain the title after Finn Balor screwed Priest out of ANOTHER title match, hitting the Coup de Grace on the outside. The Champ rolled Priest back into the ring, hit him with a Powerbomb and then sent him to sleep, completely out cold, with a modified rear choke.
  • Men’s WarGamesOG Bloodline would take the win after the whole team hit their finishers on Solo Sikoa, with Roman Reigns hitting his Spear to get the 1, 2, 3.

Team OG Bloodline Wins at WWE Survivor Series 2024

The WWE Universe witnessed an epic clash at Survivor Series 2024 as the Original Bloodline faced off against the new Bloodline faction in a high-stakes WarGames match.

OG Bloodline would take the win after the whole team hit their finishers on Solo Sikoa, with Roman Reigns hitting his Spear to get the 1, 2, 3.

The Bloodline Civil War

The Bloodline saga has been a cornerstone of WWE storytelling for the past few years, and the civil war within the faction has taken center stage in recent months.

Roman Reigns, the self-proclaimed “Head of the Table,” found his authority challenged by his own family member, Solo Sikoa, who declared himself the new Tribal Chief during Reigns’ absence.

Formation of the New Bloodline

Solo Sikoa’s bold move led to the creation of a new Bloodline faction, consisting of Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and the powerhouse Bronson Reed.

This group quickly established themselves as a formidable force in WWE, setting the stage for an inevitable confrontation with the original Bloodline members.

Roman Reigns made a dramatic return at SummerSlam, sporting an “OTC” (Original Tribal Chief) shirt, signaling his intention to reclaim his position at the head of the Bloodline.

This unexpected comeback set the wheels in motion for the WarGames match at Survivor Series.

Reuniting the Original Bloodline

In the lead-up to Survivor Series, Reigns managed to reunite key members of the original Bloodline.

The Usos, Jimmy and Jey, put aside their differences to stand with their cousin. Sami Zayn, the former “Honorary Uce,” also made a surprise return to the fold, adding an element of unpredictability to the team dynamics.

CM Punk’s Shocking Alignment

In a twist that stunned the WWE Universe, CM Punk was revealed as the fifth member of the Original Bloodline team for WarGames.

This unexpected alliance, orchestrated by Paul Heyman, added a new layer of intrigue to an already complex situation.

GUNTHER Successfully Defends World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Survivor Series 2024

The highly anticipated World Heavyweight Championship match between GUNTHER and Damian Priest at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 has concluded, marking another chapter in their intense rivalry.

The Road to Survivor Series

GUNTHER’s reign as World Heavyweight Champion began at SummerSlam 2024 when he defeated Damian Priest in controversial fashion. The victory was tainted by Finn Bálor’s betrayal of Priest, which allowed The Ring General to claim the gold from The Archery of Infamy.

This shocking turn of events set the stage for a rematch that would see Priest seeking redemption and reclamation of the title he felt was unjustly taken from him.

GUNTHER’s Dominant Reign

Prior to capturing the World Heavyweight Championship, GUNTHER had already established himself as one of WWE’s most formidable competitors. His record-breaking 666-day reign as Intercontinental Champion and victory in the 2024 King of the Ring tournament solidified his status as a dominant force in the company.

The Austrian powerhouse brought this same intensity to his world title reign, making him a daunting opponent for any challenger on Raw.

Despite facing internal struggles with The Judgment Day, Damian Priest earned his opportunity to challenge GUNTHER by emerging victorious in a Fatal 4-Way Match. Overcoming the likes of Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Sheamus, and Dominik Mysterio, Priest proved he was ready to reclaim what he believed was rightfully his.

The Build-Up to the Championship Clash

In the weeks leading up to Survivor Series, the rivalry between GUNTHER and Priest intensified. Promos and confrontations showcased Priest’s calm confidence, which seemed to unsettle the usually unflappable champion. This psychological warfare added an extra layer of intrigue to their impending battle.

The Match Result

Gunther would retain the title after Finn Balor screwed Priest out of ANOTHER title match, hitting the Coup de Grace on the outside.

The Champ rolled Priest back into the ring, hit him with a Powerbomb and then sent him to sleep, completely out cold, with a modified rear choke.

How Breakker Won

Breakker would get the win after hitting a Spear on Sheamus for the 1, 2, 3, but not before he hit a hellacious version of the move on Kaiser.

The Build-Up to the Triple Threat Match

The road to this championship clash began earlier in November when Breakker’s initial title defense against Sheamus was interrupted by Ludwig Kaiser.

This interference set the stage for a high-stakes triple threat match at Survivor Series, with Breakker facing the challenge of defending his title against two hungry competitors simultaneously.

Bron Breakker’s Rise to Championship Status

Bron Breakker, who ranked 11th on ESPN’s 30 under 30 list, has been making waves in WWE since his NXT days. His ascent to Intercontinental Champion status has been meteoric, with this match marking only the second defense of his second reign with the title.

Breakker’s explosive in-ring style and undeniable charisma have quickly made him a fan favorite and a definitive face of WWE’s current era.

The Challengers: Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser

Sheamus, the veteran Celtic Warrior, entered this match with the potential to complete his Grand Slam championship run. His experience and hard-hitting style made him a serious threat to Breakker’s reign. Ludwig Kaiser, representing Imperium, brought his technical prowess and cunning to the match, aiming to capture his first Intercontinental Championship.

The Impact on WWE’s Midcard Scene

Breakker’s successful title defense at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 cements his position as a cornerstone of WWE’s midcard. The Intercontinental Championship, often seen as a stepping stone to main event status, continues to gain prestige under Breakker’s reign.

This victory sets the stage for future challengers and potentially epic feuds as Breakker’s star continues to rise in WWE.

As WWE moves forward from Survivor Series, all eyes will be on Bron Breakker to see how he will continue to elevate the Intercontinental Championship and who will step up next to challenge for this prestigious title.
