WWE Superstar Natalya recently appeared on the Busted Open Radio show and discussed a variety of topics. The WWE veteran talked about Ronda Rousey and her willingness to “take risks” to make fans care about her character.
Natalya stated that “the thing about Ronda is that she has definitely put in the work. I like the fact that she is willing to take risks. She’s part of this WrestleMania main event for several reasons. One of those reasons is she’s willing to make people hate her to get people interested and watching the show.”
The Hart Family member elaborated further, saying that “you look at some of our most pivotal and polarizing characters in WWE. If everybody in the locker room was getting along, if Charlotte liked Becky, and Becky liked Charlotte, if everybody was just friends, would you pay to see that in the main event?”
Natalya also revealed what the RAW Women’s Champion had discussed with her recently. “Ronda said to me the other day, ‘I don’t care if people hate me, I don’t care if people like me. I want to help change this industry. I want to get everybody wanting to see this WrestleMania main event.'”
Ronda Rousey is set to defend her Championship in the WrestleMania main event next Sunday night.
Former WWE Superstar Torrie Wilson recently appeared on the Ross Report podcast to discuss her upcoming WWE Hall Of Fame induction. Wilson stated that she was surprised to get the phone call for her to be entered into the WWE Hall Of Fame. Torrie also spoke to Jim Ross regarding how far the WWE’s women’s division has advanced over the years.
When asked about her induction Wilson stated that “yes, I was [surprised about the induction]! Actually, Mark Carrano called me and I was on a retreat. And I thought he was calling me to invite me to watch the show and he kind of threw me for a little loop there.” Wilson then added “yeah, I was definitely surprised!”
Torrie also discussed how times were different when she was in the WWE. “During my time, there really wasn’t a ton of women before us kind of showing us the way, so we were kind of, like, learning as we were going” Wilson elaborated further, saying that “Vince [McMahon] was asking for 10s, but he wants them to be able to wrestle and all of that. so we kind of, like, started creating our own thing.”
Wilson went on to say that “a lot of the girls there now were young. Not to age ourselves, but they were watching us and watching us just getting in ring enough and wanting to be that. And, whereas before, we pretty much, I know for myself, I learned in front of all the fans. Like, I was thrown out there. Of course, I showed up early in practice, but basically I was learning in front of the fans.”
New UK promotion Wrestle Gate Pro has announced bouts for their upcoming ‘Lion’s Spirit’ event. The show will be taking place on May 18th from the Rushcliffe Arena in Nottingham, England.
Two big bouts have been announced for the card. British wrestling legend and upcoming PWG BOLA contender Jody Fleisch will be taking on Robbie X. Robbie was one of the stars of the WoS series and is currently a free agent. Japanese performer Shigehiro Irie will also be taking on Rampage Brown.
Wrestle Gate Pro was founded by British wrestling’s Gary Ward. We spoke to Gary regarding the new company’s inception. Ward described the company as “Opening The Gate To British & Japanese Strong Style, while giving the next generation of British based wrestlers an opportunities to nurture.”
Other performers confirmed for the night are as follows:
PROGRESS Wrestling will be hosting their 87th Chapter event this weekend. ‘Breadknife’ will be taking place at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London on Sunday 31st.
The full card has now been released and there are some potential barnstormers on there. PROGRESS Tag Team Champions Will Ospreay and Paul Robinson (Swords of Essex) will be taking on Aussie Open. The Australian team won their first tag team championship in PROGRESS at the Wembley show last year and now they want their gold back. This bout will be contested under TLC rules.
In another potential MOTYC CCK will be taking on LAX. This match also took place back at the PROGRESS United States tour last year, it was the Match of the Night and arguably one of the best tag team bouts on the globe in 2018. There’s a very good chance that both teams will be able to bring back the magic of that night.
Here’s the full card for Chapter 87 ‘Breadknife.’
Angelico vs TK Cooper
PROGRESS Tag Team Championship Match – Will Ospreay and Paul Robinson vs Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis)
Nina Samuels vs Kasey Owens
wXw 16 Carat Gold Winner Lucky Kid vs Tristan Archer
Former WoS/World of Sport Women’s Champion Viper/Piper Niven has officially joined the NXT UK roster. The powerhouse performer appeared following a Rhea Ripley vs Xia Brookside bout. Ripley proclaimed that she was the most dominant women in NXT UK, Niven’s music then hit and the Scottish Superstar appeared.
Ripley quickly escaped from the ring as Niven entered. Piper looked at Ripley and said “The most dominant woman in NXT UK? Not anymore!”
We had previously reported that there was interest from both WWE and AEW for Viper/Piper Niven. ICW Superstar Viper was allegedly offered deals by both AEW and WWE around the time that her WoS deal was expiring. Viper/Piper Niven does have some experience in a WWE ring, having performed in the inaugural Mae Young Classic. The Wrestling Observer confirmed that Viper was given a much “better offer” than Kay Lee Ray as there was apparently interest from All Elite Wrestling.
Whilst the future of WoS is still unclear this constant stream of stars leaving cannot be a good sign. Viper, Kay Lee Ray and Bea Priestley have all left for WWE/AEW respectively. These three Women were the biggest female stars on the WoS roster, there is a chance that new talent could be built around but as of writing we do not have any indicators regarding the promotion.
Dragon Gate and UK independent star PAC has been announced for an upcoming Rev Pro event. The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion will be joining the company on April 14th for their Southampton show.
PAC was originally scheduled to join the company on WrestleMania weekend. The Geordie star was booked to tag alongside Will Ospreay to take on CCK’s Chris Brookes and Jon Gresham. Rev Pro had to pull PAC from the event for undisclosed reasons, forcing a change. That match will now see Ospreay teaming with Hiroshi Tanahashi to take on Suzuki-gun’s Zack Sabre Jr and Minoru Suzuki.
PAC will be back in action for Rev Pro in Southampton against Paul Robinson. Robinson is Will Ospreay’s longtime tag team partner in the ‘Swords of Essex.’ The two men are currently the PROGRESS Wrestling Tag Team Champions and this bout should be an intriguing pairing.
An intriguing contest signed for April 14th, Live In Southampton as PAC will go one on one with Will Ospreay's best friend, a man he held the British Tag Team Championships with, the returning PAUL ROBINSON!

Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) Wrestling has announced a big tag match for their WrestleCon event in April. Will Ospreay and Hiroshi Tanahashi will be teaming to take on Zack Sabre Jr and Minoru Suzuki.
The show will be taking place on Friday April 5th from the Hilton New York Midtown Ballroom. Already announced for the show are Tomohiro Ishii and CCK (Chris Brookes and Jon Gresham).
Ospreay and PAC were originally scheduled to take on Brookes and Gresham. The two men had an incredible time limit draw at the recent High Stakes 2019 event in York Hall, Bethnal Green. Brookes and Gresham interfered during the bout which has lead to this match. There were originally rumors that Ospreay would be facing PAC as a way to give Rev Pro one of the ‘best’ in ring bouts of WrestleMania weekend. Unfortunately PAC had to be removed from the event for undisclosed reasons. Hiroshi Tanahashi is quite the replacement for the show.
Ticket information for the show can be found here.
HIROSHI TANAHASHI joins WILL OSPREAY to take on the Suzuki-Gun team of ZACK SABRE JR & MINORU SUZUKI in a non-title match which has serious ramifications for the tag team & heavyweight championship picture!
United Kingdom based promotion IPW:UK will be heading to New York City for WrestleMania weekend in April. The company will be hosting a show on Friday April 5th from the NYC Arena at 12pm.
Four matches for the show have already been announced. Company veteran and newly signed AEW star Jimmy Havoc will be making one of his final appearances for the company. A farewell UK show was recently held for Havoc but this will be first time that IPW has ventured to the States, so they wanted to take Havoc.
Havoc will be taking part in a ‘No Rules Bar Room Brawl’ against James Storm. The former TNA World Heavyweight Champion has appeared sporadically for the company and now he has the honor of helping the company say farewell to Havoc.
Other confirmed matches for the show are as follows:
PROGRESS Wrestling will be hosting their 87th Chapter event this weekend. ‘Breadknife’ will be taking place at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London on Sunday 31st.
The latest bout to be announced will see former Lucha Underground star Angelico take on TK Cooper. Cooper is one of the standard bearers of the company, having teamed with Travis Banks and Dahlia Black as the ‘South Pacific Power Trip’ for the past couple of years.

PROGRESS Tag Team Championship Match – Will Ospreay and Paul Robinson vs Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis)
Nina Samuels vs Kasey Owens
wXw 16 Carat Gold Winner Lucky Kid vs Tristan Archer
As we reported earlier today the RAW Women’s Championship will be main eventing WrestleMania in just a few weeks time. Ronda Rousey will be defending her Championship against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.
The decision to headline the show with this match has been likely for some time. The feud between Lynch and Rousey had been one of the hottest feuds in the company during the year.
With the inclusion of Flair and the convoluted nature of the feud some were predicting that this match would not in fact headline. According to PWInsider, this may have actually been the case.
The decision to make the Women’s Triple Threat the headliner was still being debated down to the wire. The Universal Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins was heavily in contention for the spot.
Although the Triple Threat is perceived as ‘less hot’ going into Mania it is almost inconceivable that the company would consider putting Lesnar in the main event spot again. Turns out, they almost did.
Do you feel that the Women’s match deserves to main event?
United Kingdom based promotion IPW:UK has announced the first three stars for their Super 8 event in July. Former TNA World Champion James Storm and David Starr will be appearing on the show in Maidstone, England. Also announced for the event is former WWE Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins (TJP).
TJP was recently released from WWE and he stated that “there was nothing negative” and he was not disgruntled in the company. The former Cruiserweight Champion also stated on Twitter that “I have been swinging for the fences quietly behind the curtain for a year and this was a “spread your wings” thing. Boss said he respected my effort and diligence and it just didn’t fit what they wanted. It’s not my call, and I’m cool with it.”
In the United States TJP has been announced for The Wrestling REVOLVER‘s three-year anniversary show. The action will take place from the Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines, Iowa on May 10. Also, TJP will compete for Expo Lucha at the San Diego City College Harry West Gymnasium on August 17 and 18. With the purchase of a ticket, fans will also receive autograph and photo opportunities
Tickets for IPW:UK’s Super 8 are available to purchase via RingsideWorld now.
RIPTIDE Wrestling has announced the next bout for their upcoming ‘RIPTIDE Rumble.’ The show will be taking place on April 12th from the Brighthelm Centre in Brighton, England.
Cara Noir will be taking on Chris Ridgeway on the night. Noir is one of the most refined character performers on the UK scene today. Having shed his previous persona he now appears as a ‘black swan’ styled character with a mysterious aura. Chris Ridgeway is one of the toughest practitioners of ‘strong style’ in the UK currently.
Already announced for the event are Chuck Mambo vs TK Cooper plus Jimmy Havoc and Jinny vs Paul Robinson and Chakara. Mambo vs Cooper will be contested for Chuck’s Brighton Championship. Chuck Mambo won the belt at the inaugural Brighton Championship tournament.
New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced the latest star that will be joining their Royal Quest event in the UK. ‘Golden Star’ Kota Ibushi will be heading overseas to take part in the Copper Box Arena.
NJPW also recently announced that NEVER Openweight Champion Will Ospreay will be heading to the Copper Box Arena in London. Ospreay won the NEVER Openweight Championship at the Wrestle Kingdom show in January. The ‘Aerial Assassin’ defeated Kota Ibushi to claim the title and dethrone the Japanese star.
The company confirmed earlier this month that “Three” of their “top Japanese wrestlers have confirmed they will be on the card and they will be bringing New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s fighting spirit to the heart of the UK’s capital.” Those three stars were Kazuchika Okada, Tetsuya Naito and IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi.
NJPW aren’t strangers to the United Kingdom. They have held numerous events in conjuncture with other promotions. Most notably Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro) and Ring Of Honor (ROH). ‘Royal Quest’ will be their first major solo show in the UK.
You can find more information on their website, NJPW1972.com.
??Guess who's coming to Royal Quest? ??
The Golden star is making his way to London in August, will you be there? Make sure to get your tickets before they all sell out!?

The ICW World Championship will be defended when Champion Lionheart takes on Ashton Smith. Smith is known in ICW for his work alongside tag partner Rampage, the WoS star will be looking to advance his singles career in the promotion.
ICW’s Tag Team Championships will also be on the line when the Kings of Catch defend against The Nines. The Kings won their titles back at the SSE Hydro event Fear & Loathing.
Here’s the card as it currently stands:
ICW World Championship Match: Lionheart (c) vs Ashton Smith
ICW Tag Team Championship Match: The Kings of Catch vs The Nines

Already announced for the Megashow are WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley. WAW World Champion Roy Knight. WWE Superstar and former Smackdown General Manager Paige and Billy Gunn.
WAW is owned by Paige’s family, the Knights. This will be the former Champion’s first official appearance for the company since she joined the WWE a number of years ago. The Knight family are currently celebrating the release of ‘Fighting With My Family.’
The film is based on Paige’s journey to WWE and her rise to RAW and the Diva’s Championship. The motion picture has garnered critical praise and was produced by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
Independent performer David Starr will be challenging Jay Lethal for the Ring of Honor title on 4/21 in Netanya, Israel. Starr cut a promo for the match and in doing so critical of Sinclair Broadcasting’s politics. The ‘Jewish Cannon’ accused Sinclair of being a “corporate propaganda machine.”
Starr was asked to take the promo off of the internet by IPWA (Israeli Pro Wrestling Association). The promotion where the bout will be taking place.
IPWA were contacted by ROH and the American company were very upset with the politics being included with the promo. There are several other reports saying that ROH are threatening to pull Lethal from the show. This would be if the promo didn’t get removed. There has not been any confirmation of this. There’s a belief that IPWA are fearing that would happen if the promo isn’t taken down.
David Starr recently sent out a tweet saying. “Last night, I posted a promo for my historic championship match on April 21st against Ring of Honor champion Jay Lethal. In Netanya, Israel for Israeli Pro Wrestling Association. I, have been asked by the powers that be to remove said promo. Out of respect to IPWA, who have already paid for Jay’s very expensive flight and accommodations, I will comply. My complying with this request is not an admission of wrongdoing or a retraction. I stand by my entire statement and do not regret any of my actions regarding this subject.”
At the time of writing the match will still be taking place. Lethal is still scheduled to head over to Israel in April.
You can check out the full promo below:
David Starr's Sinclair bashing promo (seen below) has been pulled due to pressure from ROH.
PROGRESS Wrestling will soon be hosting their Super Strong Style 16 tournament. The annual 3 day event is traditionally held in May and features some of the top stars from the UK/European and International scenes. Last year saw WWE/NXT Superstar Kassius Ohno appear in standout bouts with NXT UK Superstar Tyler Bate and CCK’s Chris Brookes.
One half of the PROGRESS Wrestling Tag Team Champions Paul Robinson has declared that he wants ‘in’ on the tournament. PROGRESS recently sent out a tweet seeming to indicate that there would be an issue with the Tag Team Title bout at the upcoming ‘Breadknife’ event. That show will be taking place on March 31st from the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London. It is not yet known if this is due to a scheduling conflict. Robinson’s tag partner is Will Ospreay, a big star in NJPW and someone who the company relies on heavily. Ospreay may otherwise be occupied and they are therefore working this into a storyline. This however has not yet been confirmed. Check out the recent promo from Robinson demanding his shot in the tournament via the tweet below:
Japanese promotion DDT Pro will be heading to the United States for their first ever WrestleMania weekend show in April. The company will be hosting “Coming To America” on Thursday 4th April from La Boom in New York.

The Suzuki-gun leader brings a vicious streak to the ring that is only matched by his charisma and presence.
Earlier this week, Lana was in Los Angeles take part in two photoshoots. One of these shoots included taking a few shots in the middle of heavy traffic. Lana’s most recent IG Story showed “The Ravishing Russian” posing for the shots.
Incidentally, one of the drivers who was queueing in the traffic is actually a big television star in her own right. Stephanie Beatriz, who plays Rosa Diaz on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, stated that she was not happy with being an unintended part of the WWE Superstar’s photoshoot. Beatriz recently posted an IG Story showing video of Lana’s shoot. The caption on the video read “Like. I just want to drive and not be in your photo shoot.”
You can check out the video via the tweet below. Quite hilariously Lana appears to smile at Beatriz’s camera after getting the shot. Maybe there’s a chance that Lana thought was a fan?
Do you think that Lana and Rusev are trying to get out of their WWE contracts? Let us know in the comments
New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced the new performer who will be appearing at their ‘Royal Quest’ event in London. Suzuki-gun stable member Zack Sabre Jr will be heading to the Copper Box Arena in London, England on August 31st.

Becky Lynch appeared at a signing yesterday and made headlines for helping a fan in need. Lynch helped the fan after she suffered from a seizure.
One fan in attendance wrote that “a girl had a seizure in line at the signing, started shaking uncontrollably and couldn’t make it up the stairs. Becky ran and held her tight as she could for like 5 minutes until it completely stopped.”
Becky also recently appeared at a WWE house show and wrestled without a crutch. The leg injury angle that Lynch has been portraying on television does appear to be ending shortly ahead of her likely main event match at WrestleMania.
Becky Lynch was recently added to the RAW Women’s Championship match expected to main event WrestleMania this year. Lynch won the WWE women’s Royal Rumble this year and intended to challenge Ronda Rousey but was removed from the match by Stephanie McMahon and placed under suspension.
After Rousey threatened to vacate her championship if Becky wasn’t allowed in the match, Lynch was scheduled to face Charlotte Flair at Fastlane. The stipulation at Fastlane was that if Lynch won, she’d be added to the WrestleMania main event. Rousey attacked Lynch during the match, leading to the disqualification.
Due to a quirk in the rules, this led to Lynch being declared the victor via DQ and thus being added to the RAW women’s championship match at WrestleMania. The match will now be contested under triple threat rules.
Bray Wyatt recently posted some photos on his Instagram of himself and JoJo on the “Wyatt Family Compound.” They appeared alongside a few of their mini-horses. In the post’s caption he wrote:
“News from the horse’s mouth, not someone [else’s] ass. New and improved Wyatt Family Compound: preparing MY DAUGHTERS’ mini horses for The Battle of New York. Life is good man. Especially when you know rebellion and redemption are around the corner. I’ll see you when I see you. #RevengeIsAConfession #HookEmHorns”
With Wyatt mentioning New York, he may well be teasing a return around WrestleMania weekend. Wyatt was one half of the RAW Tag Team Titles alongside Matt Hardy, however since the duo lost the belts Wyatt’s appearances have been sparse since last summer.
Bray made a surprise appearance at WWE Starrcade back in November, defeating Baron Corbin. Since that appearance Wyatt has worked a handful of live events, including as recently as December. Wyatt has not been seen on WWE television since his return.
As of writing there are not any clear bouts for Wyatt to have at the ‘showcase of the immortals.’ Longtime Wyatt family members Luke Harper and Erick Rowan do not appear to have any bouts confirmed so a triple threat could happen, although this is unlikely.
