Dolph Ziggler On Why He Moved To NXT: ‘I Felt Stale”

Prior to Dolph Ziggler’s successful run in NXT 2.0, he was a mainstay and long time veteran on the main roster. Dolph added to his list of career achievements by becoming the NXT Champion by defeating Bron Breakker and Tommaso Ciampa in a triple threat match at NXT Roadblock.

Before heading down to NXT, Ziggler was in a tag team with Robert Roode on Monday Night Raw.

Ziggler On Working In NXT

Ziggler joined Corey Graves on WWE After The Bell to talk about heading down to NXT and how it’s impacted his career.

“Everyone is asking, ‘how do you feel about being surprised?’ Surprised? I came here to scout talent and two weeks later, I’m the NXT Champion. That wasn’t in the cards, that wasn’t even a thought process.

I’m constantly working, I’m never out sick, but I felt stale. Roode and I are really good at what we do and it didn’t seem like we were doing anything that important right now and it’s ‘what have you done for me lately?’ At the moment, we’re not crushing it. It didn’t seem like we were going to have a match on WrestleMania unless we made something happen. We saw an opening and said, ‘Let’s try this out, let’s go see NXT.’

Half the time, anybody who shows up from NXT, their first match is with me anyway. Especially Roode, he even had a match with me.

Now, I’m going to cut out the middle man and go to NXT and start wrestling there. I really came to scout talent, see if a few people had some up and coming things that I could possibly work with that aligned, and got thrown right into the mix. It’s crazy. It’s so funny, if you’re surprised that I’m NXT Champion, normally if you’re surprised I’m United States Champion or World Champion, I’m not, I’m blown away,” he said.

Dolph On Working With Bron Breakker

Ziggler also spoke about sharing the ring with the top prospect Bron Breakker.

The former World Champion said, “I did not plan on this. I’m very happy to be in this moment with Breakker, who has 20 matches under his belt, but somehow can go. He has this insane speed and power that…I’ve been speared by Goldberg and I’m like, ‘This guy, you kidding me,’ and has knocked the wind out of me and put me down. This kid hits harder. That spear put me down. I was happy to kickout and keep moving, but I go, ‘Holy Crap.’

He has that, in that prime of his career, linebacker closing speed for every movement. When he figures out how to hone that in a year or two or three, he’s going to be someone who is kind of unstoppable.”

The current WWE NXT Champion is set to defend his title against Breakker at NXT Stand & Deliver on Saturday, April 2.

Sami Zayn Receives Over 20,000 Text Messages Because Of Johnny Knoxville

Johnny Knoxville pranked Sami Zayn by putting his phone number on a plane which resulted in Zayn receiving over 20,000 text messages.

Knoxville and Zayn are scheduled to face off against each other in a match at WrestleMania 38. Knoxville had challenged Zayn to a match, but Sami only accepted when the Jackass star helped Ricochet take the Intercontinental Title from Zayn

The Results Of Knoxville’s Prank On Sami

In an attempt to annoy Johnny, Sami spammed his phone number with text messages. Knoxville did not take too kind to this and found a way to get him back.

WWE is a community-based business and is all about our fans coming together and sharing this experience. We think there are huge opportunities to expand upon that in the Metaverse itself.

In terms of our approach, we’re doing our due diligence. We’re meeting with various partners and learning as much we can. We don’t want to be hasty in this space. That being said, we certainly don’t want to be behind, we always like to be slightly ahead of the curve. It is something we are actively involved in and investigating and looking into.”

Kamille: I’m Not The Biggest Fan Of The ‘Forbidden Door’

Kamille discusses the ‘forbidden door’ and possible matches in other promotions.

Kamille & The ‘Forbidden Door’

The current NWA Women’s Champion Kamille is no stranger to the ‘forbidden door’. In the past, she has shown up on AEW Dynamite before when she confronted Leyla Hirsch who was her NWA EmPowerrr opponent.

Kamille tends to have the overwhelming power advantage over her opponents. However, fans have begun to wonder what could happen if she challenged another powerhouse, specifically Jade Cargill.

Kamille recently was asked about the possibility of a match with the current TBS Champion on the Battleground podcast

“That would definitely interest me. To be honest, and this might be controversial or people think I’m crapping on stuff, I’m not the biggest fan of the forbidden door and how open it’s been lately. Contracts are contracts for a reason. People should stay at companies for a reason. If not, why have contracts? If everyone can go everywhere. It’s been taken away the specialness of [appearing for a different company] when it happens. I wish we’d pull back a little bit and everyone stay at the company for a little while. Then, imagine something like that if no one has been switched around for a while.

How big a deal it would be because I do get all the time ‘Kamille and Jade, that’s what I want to see.’ How would I fare against her? I think I’d fare very well. She played college basketball, I played college softball. We have that athlete’s mindset to win and do whatever it takes to win. It’d be an interesting matchup and I definitely think people would be tuning in to watch,” Kamille said.

What’s Next For Kamille & Jade Cargill?

Cargill is undefeated with her record being 29-0. She defeated Tay Conti at AEW Revolution and then went on to issue an open challenge. Cargill recently had a back-and-forth on Twitter with Athena, formerly known as Ember Moon, which teased a possible match up between the two of them.

Kamille will be defending her NWA Women’s Championship in a triple threat match against Chelsea Green and Kylie Rae at NWA Crockett Cup.

Lita recently returned to the ring for a singles match at WWE Elimination Chamber. Lita took part in the 2018 Royal Rumble, and then returned in that match in 2022. Following a great performance in this year’s Royal Rumble, Lita challenged Becky Lynch for the RAW Women’s Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber. Wardlow Is Excited To Be Getting More Mic Time

Wardlow recently got his first big promo segment on the March 9 episode of AEW Dynamite, due to his huge win at AEW Revolution. He’s always been a dominant character, but he mainly did it without talking. Mostly due to his partnership with MJF, Wardlow’s TV time was limited to his in-ring dominance.

Wardlow Is Excited To Show His Ability On The Mic

Wardlow recently spoke to Rick Uchhino of Bleav in Pro Wrestling Podcast about the opportunity to get more time to speak to the audience.

Wardlow said, “I was very excited to show that and I’m excited to have the opportunity to have a microphone in my hand more often. But yeah man, I’m just ready to be myself. I’ve had to be the silent bodyguard… and realistically there is a side of me that is very quiet and to myself.

But, I’m ready just to show the world every aspect of Wardlow. And everything that I can do, because I have so much more to give than what people have seen.”

AEW Revolution Was The Best Night Of Wardlow’s Life

Wardlow also was an integral part of the AEW Revolution pay-per-view. He won the Face of the Revolution ladder match to become the Face of the Revolution. Through that match, he earned the opportunity to challenge for the TNT Title, and that will happen on this Wednesday’s Dynamite. He also interrupted CM Punk and MJF’s Dog Collar Match. He helped CM Punk to defeat MJF when it originally seemed like he was there to help MJF.

Mr. Mayhem also talked about this moment and how the show in general made him feel.

“When I say that was the best night of my life, I truly mean it. I mean, the moment of grabbing that ring and putting it over my head at the end of that ladder match and hearing that crowd and then hearing them again in the moment of placing that ring… When I turned around and I was walking up the ramp and I heard behind me the entire arena chanting my name, best moment of my life. I’ve been dreaming of that moment since I was in elementary school. I knew it would be a big moment. I just didn’t comprehend that it would be received that well,” the Face of the Revolution said.

Wardlow will challenge the new TNT Champion Scorpio Sky on AEW Dynamite this Wednesday.

Athena and Jade Cargill Tease Match Through Fiery Twitter Exchange

Jade Cargill and Athena had a back-and-forth exchange on Twitter which teased a possible match between the two.

Athena, formerly known as Ember Moon, was released from WWE on November 4, 2022. She has since returned to the independent scene with her most notable match being against Thunder Rosa at Warrior Wrestling 19. She is currently scheduled to take part in some WrestleMania 38 weekend events when she faces Mia Yim at this year’s WrestleCon.

On this past week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, the current TBS Champion asked who’s left for her. She urged someone to step up and answer her open challenge. Cargill defeated Tay Conti at Revolution last Sunday. She says she’s ready for real competition and that she’ll give them her “kiss of death”. Cargill posted this promo to her Twitter.

The Twitter Exchange

To which Athena responded with, “Hmmmm [thinking face emojis]…”

“Hmmmm? What? Say how you feel if you feel it. I don’t play games. Open up,” Jade responded.

The former NXT Women’s Champion replied, “Sure, Jade Cargill. I’ll give in to your request and ill say loud enough for the people in the back…even though I’m pretty sure I know the answer. GIVE ME A MATCH SO I CAN TAKE YOUR TITLE! Talk to ya boy and make it happen… I’ll be waiting.”

Cargill answered by throwing shade in reference to her WWE release, “You’re welcomed kid. I’m a needle mover. I’ll help you out. Clearly you need it. Looking kind of dry out there without TV.”

Below is the full back-and-forth exchange:

Natalya informed her that she will be taking WWE Official Sonya Deville out for dinner to try and make it happen.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Match At WrestleMania 38

There is already a WWE Women’s Tag Team Title match scheduled for WrestleMania 38. On WrestleMania Sunday, Queen Zelina and Carmella will defend their titles against Sasha Banks & Naomi and Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan. Natalya & Shayna Baszler are currently trying to politic their way into the match.

The former ROH, Impact and NXT Champion is just one of many players released from WWE that still remain as playable characters in the WWE 2K22 game.

Samoa Joe on WWE 2K22

Samoa Joe spoke about how this process worked for him when he appeared on Kinda Funny Games Daily. He was asked about how WWE was still able to keep him in the game despite him no longer being in the company.

“Built into our contract is a licensing agreement,” he said. “I am Samoa Joe, that’s my trademark that I own. For me, it’s a little different than most guys because I have a licensing agreement and we negotiated our price based off that.

It’s essentially the same type of thing with guys who don’t have their own name. When you leave there, that character is still there for their properties.”

WWE 2K22 is now available on all platforms. Make sure to check out our WWE 2K22 Review. You can buy WWE 2K22 now from Amazon.

What’s Next For Samoa Joe?

Samoa Joe is still currently under a non-compete clause with the WWE. His 90 days will be up on April 6, 2022. Samoa Joe will be inducted into the Ring of Honor Hall of Fame as a part of the 2022 class. He will be inducted with Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, and the Briscoes.

Big E And Goldberg Promote WWE 2K22 On Hot Ones: Truth Or Dab

Big E and Goldberg appeared on Hot Ones: Truth Or Dab to answer questions, eat hot wings, and cut a promo on each other.

“Big Meaty Men Slapping Meat”

On the New Day: Feel The Power podcast back in 2020, Big E explained why Goldberg was his dream match while cutting the famous “big meaty men slapping meat” promo.

It seems like that promo led to the most recent edition of Hot Ones: Truth Or Dab YouTube show. Big E and Goldberg both competed in a truth-or-dare game with hot wings beginning the dare. On Hot Ones: Truth Or Dab, you must either truthfully answer the host’s question or eat a chicken wing with hot sauce on it.

Second Round: The Spicy Questions

In the second round, the host, Sean Evans brings the pressure to both Superstars by asking them spicier questions after an easy first round.

Evans says, “Big E, we’re back with you. Your tag team, The New Day, you guys have had a Hall of Fame career. But, I’m curious how you would rank yourself against your tag team partners, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, in an individual matchup.”

The former WWE Champion said, “Yeah, you know, you know I can’t do that. Yeah, we’re gonna- we’re gonna do this,” and then took a bite of a level two hot wing.

Big E declined to answer the question and chose to eat a hot wing. He had a lasting reaction but decided to try and ‘no-sell it’ for the most part.

When it was time for Goldberg to get a harder question, the multi-time champion had no problem answering.

Sean Evans asked, “Goldberg, perhaps it’s time for you to join the party. From interviewing wrestlers in the past, I know the pre-fight rituals is the stuff of locker room legend. Is there a wrestler who annoyed you the most behind the scenes, even if you respected what they brought to the ring?”

Goldberg responded with, “Oh yeah, how much time do I have? I’d say Scott Hall may be at the top of that list. 100%. As much as I’d like to eat these wings, I’d much rather select him as the number one guy in that category.”

Final Round: Line-For-Line Promos

Goldberg has always been Big E’s dream opponent, but this is the first time we’ve seen them go face to face. Towards the end of the video, Evans challenges the two former champions to face off, eat hot wings, and cut back-and-forth promos on each other. This line-for-line promo battle ends with a simulated 2K22 matchup.

Paige VanZant Did First AEW Appearances For Free, Starts Training on 3/14

The new AEW signing spoke to ESPN, and revealed that she did many of her first appearances with AEW for free, which led to her falling in love with wrestling.

Paige VanZant signed her AEW contract on this past Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite. After Scorpio Sky won the TNT Championship, VanZant laid out Tay Conti, seemingly setting up her first feud. VanZant is a former UFC fighter and her record was 8-5. In addition to AEW, Paige is also signed to Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships. Paige first started making appearances in AEW back in September as a part of the American Top Team faction.

Paige On Venturing Into Pro Wrestling

Paige spoke with Marc Raimondi of ESPN and talked about her interest in wrestling and how she always considered venturing into professional wrestling.

VanZant said, “The more I got involved, the more I loved it. I just realized I was meant to be a part of the show. I wanted to be one of the wrestlers for them and I knew I would be really good at it.”

VanZant On Her Pro Wrestling Journey

VanZant will begin her pro wrestling training on Monday, March 14 with David Heath, aka Gangrel. ESPN’s Marc Raimondi reports that Van Zant will be training at Coastal Championship Wrestling in Pompano Beach, Florida. One of the coaches that work at Coastal Championship Wrestling is former WWF talent Gangrel.

“My only frustration so far with my whole pro-wrestling journey is I would show up and I said, ‘Hey, I want to jump off the ropes tonight. I want to slam someone through a table tonight — someone is getting slammed through a table.’ They’re like, uh, you should probably train first.

My only concern is they don’t let me do the crazy stuff right away. I want to go in there and I want to do all the crazy stuff. I want to fully immerse myself in this world,” Paige said.

You can watch video of Paige VanZant’s conversation with ESPN here:

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships And AEW Partnership

Bernie Bahrmasel, a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships spokesperson, has said before that BKFC and AEW will work together to develop her career. She has said that she has no plans to leave the promotion, and her AEW deal will still allow for her to work with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships.

It’s unclear how VanZant will balance working for AEW and BKFC. The injuries for BKFC could be significant that could impact her wrestling career. She’s also lost two bare-knuckle boxing fights by unanimous decision. Van Zant hasn’t shared if she’s contemplated retiring from professional fighting to focus on her wrestling career. Regardless, the former UFC fighter will begin training at Coastal Championship Wrestling to become elite in the wrestling ring.

The President of BKFC, David Feldman, previously said, “If she wins this fight, then she has a future. If she loses this fight, she’s probably not going to want to do this, either, and we’ll part ways amicably. But I don’t expect that to happen. I think she’s learned this craft, and she has a lot of tenacity. I do expect her to perform even better this time.”

VanZant has also explained that she still sees MMA in her future. We are unsure when Paige will work her in-ring debut with AEW.

Sycho Sid Will Reportedly Be A Part Of The 2022 WWE Hall of Fame Class

Sycho Sid will reportedly be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a part of the 2022 class.

Sycho Sid’s Career

Sid is a two-time WWF Champion and two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Sid’s real name is Sid Eudy, but he mainly went by Sid Justice, Sid Vicious and Sycho Sid.

Sid wrestled full-time from 1987 to 2001 until an extremely brutal leg break at the WCW Sin pay-per-view. Sid would end up wrestling 24 matches for many independent promotions from 2004 to 2017. His last WWE match was in 2012 when he ended up squashing Heath Slater in exactly 90 seconds.

Sycho Sid Is Rumored To Be Inducted Into The Hall Of Fame

Andrew Zarian of The Mat Men Podcast sent out a tweet revealing that he’s hearing Sid’s name for the 2022 Hall of Fame class.

There are currently two confirmed inductees for this year’s class. The Undertaker and Vader have both been confirmed by WWE as a part of the class. Vince McMahon has also said that he will be the one to induct The Undertaker. This year’s Hall of Fame ceremony will take place after SmackDown on April 1 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

WWE has yet to confirm whether or not Sid will be inducted.
