WWE Reportedly Not Interested In Bringing Back Alberto Del Rio

Despite his recent comments, it doesn’t sound like the WWE is interested in bringing back Alberto Del Rio. The former WWE Champion spoke to Contralona TV and revealed he recently apologized to Triple H and mended fences with WWE. Upon that news, many believed this could signal a return to the company for the Mexican star. Here’s what he had to say:

“Now everything is normal with them, I apologized and shook hands, even with Mr. Levesque, with whom I do not agree on many things, especially how things ended and how they were done [when he was fired in 2014], but I should never have crossed the line and disrespect him.

“A man can only be called a man by admitting his mistakes. I lived a very difficult stage in my life: one year and two months in which I had to win the most difficult battle of my life that was against myself.”

However, Fightful reports that such a reunion is unlikely. The report notes that Del Rio left a very poor impression on talent, staff, and management alike due to his no-show issues last year. Also, WWE wouldn’t want to make Paige uncomfortable, who the company holds in high regard. The company doesn’t have a clear plan for Paige yet, and the status of her friendship or relationship with Del Rio is unknown.

It was also stressed that neither Paige or anyone else is actively campaigning against a Del Rio return. It’s simply a matter of the negative possibilities outweighing the positive ones. With that being said, there seems to be no plans to bring Del Rio back, or even any interest in the idea at the moment.

Do you think WWE would ever consider bringing back Del Rio to the company?

  • Chris Jericho Reveals All-Time Dream Opponent & Stipulation

Chris Jericho Reveals All-Time Dream Opponent & Stipulation

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star Chris Jericho recently shared a Q&A session he did with fans on the latest episode of his “Talk Is Jericho” podcast. The Q&A was recorded on his First Annual Chris Jericho Rock & Wrestling Rager At Sea cruise. During the session, Jericho revealed his all-time dream opponent, and what he’d like the match stipulation to be.

“Y2J” admitted that one of his biggest regrets was not being able to have shared the ring with the late Owen Hart. Jericho said he would’ve liked a 30-minute clown nose match with Hart:

“I think when I go through, like, my three heroes when I was a kid were Shawn Michaels, Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat, who is also here on this ship – I will be doing a live Talk Is Jericho with ‘The Dragon’. And the other one was Owen Hart. And I got to work with Shawn extensively.

“I got to work with Steamboat a bunch of times. I never got to work with Owen Hart and one of the reasons why I left WCW to go to WWE, if you have a list of 100 reasons, one of the 80 reasons or the 90th reason, or lower level reasons was ‘maybe I’ll get a chance to work with Owen Hart’ and before I got there, he passed away.

“So I never had the chance to work with Owen. I would have loved to have worked with him and I would have loved to have worked with him as a motivated performer.” Jericho added, “so if I could work with anybody, it would be Owen Hart. Stipulation: 30 minutes, clown nose match.”

Unfortunately, Hart passed away in May of 1999 after an accidental fall at the Over The Edge pay-per-view (PPV). He was 34-years-old at the time of his death. Hart was a two-time Intercontinental Champion, a four-time Tag Team Champion, and the 1994 King Of The Ring winner.

What do you think about Jericho naming Hart as his dream opponent?

  • Update On Possible Changes To WWE’s HOF Ceremony

Update On Possible Changes To WWE’s HOF Ceremony

Earlier this month, The Floor Seat reported that some major format changes were coming to the WWE Hall Of Fame induction ceremony this year. One of those changes being that there will no longer be inductors for inductees. The report also suggested that there will be 15-minute time limits for speeches.

These made sense given one of the biggest criticisms the ceremony has faced over the years is that it’s too long. F4WOnline obtained a statement from WWE regarding the potential changes. The source confirmed that format options are definitely being looked at. It was noted there could be a “mix of ways” to introduce inductees.

As for the 15-minute time limits, the source claims they don’t know where that came from:

“While we are looking at format options, the plan is to have inductors, but there could be a mix of ways to introduce inductees. We are also looking at flow, but I don’t know where the 15 minute time limit info is coming from.”

This year’s WWE Hall Of Fame class includes names like Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray), The Honkey Tonk Man, Torrie Wilson, D-Generation X (Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chyna, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, and X-Pac), and Warrior Award recipient Sue Aitchison.

The 2019 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place Saturday night, April 6th from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

What do you think of the rumored changes coming to the WWE HOF ceremony?

  • Possible NXT Title Match Spoiler For TakeOver New York

Possible NXT Title Match Spoiler For TakeOver New York

WWE might have spoiled the result of the NXT Title match at TakeOver: New York next month. It was recently confirmed that Johnny Gargano will face Adam Cole for the vacant title in a 2 of 3 Falls match. NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa was forced to vacate the title due to injury.

Local advertisements for NXT live events in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and St. Paul, Minnesota are advertising a Champion vs. Champion match between Adam Cole and The Velveteen Dream. The events are scheduled for Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28, respectively. Dream is the current NXT North American Champion. As for Cole, he is without a title as of this writing. Perhaps Cole is the man slated to leave New York with the NXT Championship on WrestleMania weekend?

Cole defeated Ricochet, Aleister Black, Matt Riddle, and Dream in a Fatal Five-Way match to earn his way into the NXT Title bout at TakeOver: New York. Gargano was initially slated to face Ciampa, however, his neck injury forced those plans to change.

NXT TakeOver: New York takes place from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Friday, April 5, 2019. Check out the updated TakeOver: New York card below:

    • Two Of Three Falls match for vacant NXT Championship: Johnny Gargano vs. Adam Cole
    • WWE NXT UK Championship: (C) Pete Dunne vs. WALTER
    • NXT North American Championship: (C) The Velveteen Dream vs. Matt Riddle
    • Fatal Four-Way for NXT Women’s Championship: (C) Shayna Baszler vs. Io Shirai vs. Bianca Belair vs. Kairi Sane
    • NXT Tag Team Championship: (C) War Raiders vs. Aleister Black and Ricochet

  • Booker T Blasts Critics Of Torrie Wilson & Stevie Ray Joining WWE HOF

Booker T Blasts Critics Of Torrie Wilson & Stevie Ray Joining WWE HOF

There has been a lot of criticism surrounding some of this year’s WWE Hall Of Fame inductees. Some disagree with the likes of Torrie Wilson and Stevie Ray going into the Hall Of Fame. Despite being one of the most recognizable female competitors in WWE history, Wilson never recorded a title victory during her seven-year tenure.

As for Stevie Ray, he piled up quite a bit of accolades in World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Ray is a 10-time WCW World Tag Team Champion, alongside his brother and now-two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T, but also won a WCW World TV Title. Unfortunately, Ray never got the opportunity to compete in WWE.

Recently, Booker T addressed these criticisms on a recent episode of his podcast, “Heated Conversations.” The five-time WCW Champion called out those who oppose Ray and Wilson’s inductions, and explained why they deserve the honor:

“What dictates whether you should get into the Hall Of Fame or not? I’ve had dirt sheet writers talking about, my brother shouldn’t be in the Hall Of Fame. People who haven’t done anything for this business, talking about who should or who shouldn’t get into the Hall Of Fame.

“My thing is this, if you done nothing and contributed zero as far as taking one bump on the road, you don’t know who should get in and who shouldn’t get into the Hall Of Fame. Torrie Wilson is definitely Hall Of Fame worthy. She has paved the way for so many other lovelies, just like herself, that perhaps didn’t think that they could actually do it because they didn’t fit that mold.

“Torrie Wilson gave them that belief in themselves, to say, ‘Hey, if Torrie Wilson can do it, I can do it too.’ So Torrie is definitely a Hall Of Famer as far as I’m concerned. All the critics out there, all the pundits – who have never done anything, who have never taken one bump, who would never be awarded for anything that they’ve done in their lives, they need to step off. Torrie Wilson, you got my stamp of approval sweetheart. You stepped up.”

What do you think about Booker T’s comments regarding Ray and Wilson in the HOF?

  • WWE Selling Titan Towers, Moving Global Headquarters

WWE Selling Titan Towers, Moving Global Headquarters

WWE will be selling Titan Towers after 34 years of using the facility as their global headquarters. The move was announced via an official press release earlier today (Wed. March 20, 2019). WWE will move to a new location on 677 Washington Boulevard. Also, the company is leaving their leased spaces on 1266 East Main Street.

As for their production studio facilities at 88 and 120 Hamilton Avenue, WWE will “evaluate their options.” Titan Towers was built in 1981 and purchased by WWE in 1985. The building has been the location for numerous filmed angles and segments both inside and out. Now, they’re expected to make the move on from the building in 2021.

WWE’s new building will be leased for an initial 16.5-year term, beginning no later than July 1, 2019. WWE Co-President George Barrios had this to say about the move:

“One of the most important elements necessary to execute WWE’s long-term growth strategy is world-class talent collaborating seamlessly to create compelling content. Our workplace initiative will be the foundation to meet these objectives and underpins our ability to deliver long-term value.”

  • Dana White Provides Brock Lesnar UFC Update

Dana White Provides Brock Lesnar UFC Update

Current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar has long been expected to be making his UFC return soon. The former UFC heavyweight champion hasn’t fought since UFC 200 in 2016. He defeated Mark Hunt via unanimous decision in the co-main event of the night. However, that win was later overturned to a No Contest.

“The Beast” tested positive for a banned substance. After serving a suspension, Lesnar is now eligible to return to fighting action whenever he’d like. Last summer, Lesnar set up a future meeting with current UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. The pair engaged in a shoving match after Cormier’s title win in July.

The UFC was angling for an early 2019 fight between the pair, but that never happened. Despite this, UFC President Dana White still expects the fight to happen. Speaking to Megan Olivi for the UFC’s YouTube channel, White provided an update on Lesnar’s UFC status. White said he’s still waiting on Lesnar’s phone call and hopes to hear from him this summer:

“Brock Lesnar is doing his thing with WWE. One of the things about Brock Lesnar is, when that guy is ready to fight, he is not shy. He will call me and he will let me know. To be honest with you, I’m hoping to hear from that guy this summer,” White said.

In regards to the possible fight between Lesnar and Cormier, White says he thinks both men really want it. Because of that, he expects the fight to eventually happen:

“I think both guys really want it, Cormier wants it bad. I know Cormier wants it bad, and Brock wants it bad. So, when two fighters want to fight each other as bad as these two do, I think it’s going to happen,” White said.

What do you think about Lesnar returning to the UFC to fight heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier?

Jim Ross Underwhelmed By Kurt Angle WrestleMania 35 Announcement

WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle’s retirement match has been confirmed. On last night’s (Mon. March 18, 2019) episode of Monday Night RAW, Angle announced he’d be facing Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35. Angle wants revenge for the hell Corbin caused him when he was General Manager of RAW.

However, upon the announcement, fans were extremely disappointed with the decision. Instead, chants of “we want Cena” broke out. John Cena is expected to be competing at WrestleMania 35, but is currently without an opponent. It looks like the likes of WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross share the WWE Universe’s disappointment.

In response to the news of Angle vs. Corbin at WrestleMania, Ross called the news “underwhelming” on Twitter:

Even Angle’s wife, Giovanna, had some unfavorable comments about the match-up on Twitter. She initially Tweeted out, “The fans chanting We want Cena…..we feel ya!” She later responded to Ross’ “underwhelming” Tweet with, “Very.” Both of Giovanna’s Tweets have since been deleted.

  • Arn Anderson Breaks Silence After WWE Release

Arn Anderson Breaks Silence After WWE Release

WWE Hall Of Famer Arn Anderson has broken his silence since his release from the company last month. Anderson spoke to Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso to issue his first public comments on the matter since his firing. The 60-year-old said he had a great 18-year run with the company, but his shelf life simply came to an end:

“I was fortunate enough to work with WWE for 18 years,” Anderson said. “Certainly that provided my family and myself with a nice living, and I have no regrets. A lot of my best friends still work there. Everything has a shelf life, and I guess mine ran out.”

Details behind the reasoning for Anderson’s release were reported shortly after he was let go. It appears an incident at a WWE live event involving Alicia Fox led to the end of his time with the company. Fox reportedly showed up to the live event intoxicated. Anderson, who was the agent for her match that night, still allowed her to compete. WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon was furious with Anderson for the decision.

This was deemed the final straw for Anderson, and he was subsequently handed his walking papers. There’s currently no news on Fox’s status with the company, but we’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

What do you think about Anderson’s comments following his WWE release?

  • Ric Flair Undergoing Surgery Today

    Ric Flair Undergoing Surgery Today

During last night’s halftime show for the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks vs. Denver Nuggets game, Charles Barkley revealed two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair will be undergoing surgery today (Fri. March 15, 2019). Barkley offered well wishes to Flair before his operation, which was followed by some “Whoos!” from the crowd.

PWInsider confirmed this with a report, saying Flair is, in fact, undergoing surgery today. The nature of Flair’s situation remains unknown, however. It’s unclear why exactly Flair is undergoing surgery today, or if it’s related to his 2017 health scare. The 16-time World Champion had a significant piece of his bowel removed after an intestinal blockage.

Flair was hospitalized for over a month after the surgery. There was a point where doctors gave “The Nature Boy” a slim chance at survival. However, Flair returned to full health several weeks later. He also had an external pacemaker inserted in order to help his heart beat normally. We’ll keep you updated on Flair’s status as more information continues to be made available.

  • Dash Wilder Reveals The Revival’s Dream Match At WrestleMania 35

Dash Wilder Reveals The Revival’s Dream Match At WrestleMania 35

Last month, The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) defeated Bobby Roode and Chad Gable to become the WWE RAW Tag Team Champions. At Fastlane this past weekend, the pair successfully defended their titles against Roode and Gable, and Aleister Black and Ricochet. Now, it remains to be seen who the duo will defend their titles against at WrestleMania 35.

Speaking to Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, Wilder was asked about his dream match for The Revival at this year’s WrestleMania. Wilder responded by naming a two-out-of-three falls match against Roode and Gable for the RAW Tag Team Titles:

“Personally this year – I don’t know it’s possible or within reach but we’re going to do everything in our power make it – would be a match with Roode and Gable, two-out-of-three falls, for the tag team titles.

“I feel like those guys have so much to offer as a tag team and they’ve only scratched the surface – especially on TV – compared to what they can do. I know what each guy is capable of individually and what they’re capable of as a team because we’ve wrestled them on live events all across the world at this point.

“We’ve had 40-minute matches, two-out-of-three falls matches, straight-up matches and I can’t say enough how much more they have to offer to this division and how great both guys are – as much as I love that we’ve beaten them [laughs]. I’d love to have a two-out-of-three falls match with them because the four of us will go out there, work harder than anybody else is going to work and we’ll give fans something to remember.

“That’s something we’re going to pitch for until the day is over. I don’t know if it’s going to happen, what’s going to go on but up until WrestleMania goes off the air we’ll be pitching that!”

WrestleMania 35 goes down from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on April 7, 2019. Only a few matches have been confirmed for the card thus far. None of them include WWE’s plans for The Revival and their RAW Tag Team Titles. Check out the updated WrestleMania card here:

  • Ronda Rousey: F*ck The WWE Universe, Wrestling Is Scripted

Ronda Rousey: F*ck The WWE Universe, Wrestling Is Scripted

Ronda Rousey has certainly had a lot more attitude on WWE TV as of late. It seems like “The Rowdy One” has turned heel after her recent promo on Monday Night RAW. She denounced the WWE Universe and said she’s done parading around for fans’ entertainment. Rousey proceeded to beat down the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble winner, Becky Lynch.

Rousey will defend her RAW Women’s Title at WrestleMania 35 against Charlotte Flair. However, should Lynch defeat Flair at Fastlane this weekend (Sun. March 10, 2019), she’ll be added to the match, making it a Triple Threat. In a recent upload to her YouTube channel, Rousey continued to attack professional wrestling fans, and the industry itself.

Here’s what the RAW Women’s Champion had to say about her promo this week:

“It wasn’t a promo. They gave me other things to say, I didn’t f*cking say it. It’s not a f*cking promo, it’s not an act. I’m not going out there and doing your f*cking acting anymore. They can say it’s part of the act to try and save face to everybody else, but it’s not an act.

“I’m going out there, I’m doing whatever the hell I want, and they can explain it however they want, but, f*ck em. Everybody, WWE Universe included. I admit that I’m going to disrespect the sport that they all love so much. “Oh don’t break kayfabe, Ronda -” wrestling is scripted.

“It’s made up. It’s not real. None of those b*tches can f*cking touch me. The end.”

She must then manage the struggles of being 19 years old, living in a completely different country, and attempting to rise up in the biggest professional wrestling company in the world. The film has done so well, in fact, that it became the U.K.’s number one film. Recently, Paige was interviewed on the Variety Playback podcast to talk about the film’s success.

Paige admitted she didn’t expect it to blow up the way it has:

“I never thought it would blow up the way it has. I like that it opens up doors for other people that aren’t wrestling fans and have no idea who me and my family are, they get to see this young girl and her struggle to get to her dreams.

“I think it resonates with a lot of people. Everyone in their life has felt like an underdog or felt insecure. Some people have come from humble beginnings and have just been chasing this dream.”

Mark Henry Reveals He Will Donate His Brain To CTE Research

WWE Hall Of Famer Mark Henry spoke with former WWE star Chris Nowinski during today’s (Thurs. March 7, 2019) episode of Busted Open Radio on SiriusXM. Nowinski talked about his work with the Concussion Legacy Foundation, for whom he serves as CEO. During the interview, Henry announced that he would be donating his brain to CTE research.

Nowinski explained how the best way to study the brain is after the athlete has passed away:

“The best way to study the brain is after they pass away, so you can know on a cellular level what’s happening,” said Nowinski.

“We just got our 700th brain donation and we’re constantly getting athletes to pledge [their brains], so we can build awareness and do studies while they are still alive. We have 5,000 athletes that have pledged their name and it’s important to get famous athletes [to spotlight the issue].”

Henry then explained why he made the decision to donate his brain for research. “The World’s Strongest Man” hopes it will help benefit the generations to come:

“I definitely want to go on record that I’m donating my brain and I hope that something good can come out of y’all having my brain. Maybe it will help with how things work in the future that will benefit my kids and everyone else’s kids. We want the future to be better for our families and your families, speaking to the fans.”

Throughout over 20 years of professional wrestling, Henry has likely suffered his fair share of concussions. Henry is a former ECW, World Heavyweight, and European Champion. He was inducted into the WWE’s Hall Of Fame last year. He still contributes to the business in a backstage role, making sure locker room etiquette is on point during pay-per-view (PPV) events.

  • Shawn Michaels Says There Was An ‘Out Clause’ In Undertaker Retirement Storyline

Shawn Michaels Says There Was An ‘Out Clause’ In Undertaker Retirement Storyline

Back in 2010, Shawn Michaels made his WWE exit after losing a Streak vs. Career match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26. The pair had a rematch of what was one of the best WWE matches of all time at WrestleMania 25 the year before. However, in their rematch at the University Of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, Michaels’ career was on the line if he lost.

Of course, at the time, The Undertaker still had his undefeated WrestleMania streak to worry about. Unfortunately for “HBK”, he was once against bested by “The Deadman” at “The Showcase Of The Immortals”. Michaels would wrestle his last match for a decade that night. In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Michaels revealed that he wasn’t sure about his retirement until after the match was actually over.

Michaels apparently had an “out clause” for the storyline that would allow him to return to the ring if he changed his mind:

“I don’t know that I ever completely decided that it was going to be it [for my career] until after that match was over. We had always sort of discussed sort of an ‘out clause,’ so to speak, if I had the desire to do it again.

“But I can remember myself, and ‘Taker, and Michaels Hayes just sitting there after the match, like we had done the year before, just the three of us, sort of sitting there, alone, taking it in, and I said, ‘You know something, guys? I feel good with that.’”

What do you think about Michaels having an “out clause” in his retirement storyline with The Undertaker?

  • News On Reasoning For WWE Booking Triple Threat Main Event For WrestleMania

News On Reasoning For WWE Booking Triple Threat Main Event For WrestleMania

As the Road To Wrestlemania continues, it’s looking more and more like a Triple Threat match will, in fact, determine who will be the RAW Women’s Champion. Most fans preferred to see a singles contest between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch. However, WWE has decided to insert Charlotte Flair into the mix.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that injury risk played a factor in WWE’s decision. These days, WWE stars are getting hurt a lot more frequently. One reason WWE was motivated to book a Triple Threat was because, if one woman became injured, they could still make a singles match. The report notes that this is not a major reason for the decision, but it was one reason.

Currently, the match only officially includes Rousey and Flair at WrestleMania. However, on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, WWE set the scene for how Lynch will be added to the match. If she defeats Flair in singles competition at Fastlane this weekend (Sun. March 10, 2019), “The Irish Lass Kicker” will be WrestleMania-bound. Lynch has been dealing with a storyline injury for the past few weeks on WWE TV.

RAW ended with the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble winner taking a vicious beating from the RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. Her condition will likely be worsened for her match with Flair, so that should be a key storyline Sunday night. The Triple Threat match between Flair, Rousey, and Lynch is expected to be the first-ever women’s match to headline a WrestleMania card.

What do you think about the Triple Threat match between Lynch, Rousey, and Flair?

  • Dana White Confirms Daniel Cormier Will Get Brock Lesnar UFC Heavyweight Title Fight

Dana White Confirms Daniel Cormier Will Get Brock Lesnar UFC Heavyweight Title Fight

Last year, the UFC teased a big heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar. Cormier had just knocked out Stipe Miocic – the most successful heavyweight champion in UFC history, to win the heavyweight throne. After the fight, Lesnar, who was cageside, entered the Octagon and confronted “DC”.

The pair engaged in a shoving match before exchanging trash talk. This was in July. Since, Cormier has successfully defended his title once, and Lesnar has fulfilled his United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) suspension and is eligible to fight at any time. UFC President Dana White has been asked on numerous occasions what the status on Lesnar’s return to the UFC is.

Every time the answer is the same – he’s waiting on Brock’s call. White said Lesnar is the type of fighter that will call him when he’s ready to fight, while also continuously reminding the media of Lesnar’s current WWE obligations. Over the weekend (Sat. March 2, 2019), Lesnar’s name came up with the UFC again. Following Jon Jones’ light heavyweight title defense over Anthony Smith, Jones was asked about a possible fight with “The Beast” down the road.

“Bones” is certainly interested in the match-up and the money he and Lesnar could draw together. You might remember, Jones called Lesnar out initially after his win over Cormier at UFC 214 back in 2017. However, that win was later overturned after Jones tested positive for a banned substance, and he once again served a suspension:

Dana White spoke at the UFC 235 post-fight press conference and addressed the pending Cormier vs. Lesnar fight. He confirmed Cormier will get his desired fight with Lesnar as payment for all he has done for the promotion and the sport. Cormier is planning on retiring soon, and White wants to give “DC” his long-awaited money fight before he walks away:

“I think Brock and Cormier want that fight,” White said. “I owe Cormier a lot. Cormier wants that fight, so Cormier’s going to get it.”
