Dakota Kai To Replace Ember Moon In NXT Opening Match

Tuesday’s episode of NXT will be a busy one for Dakota Kai.

Tuesday, WWE reported Ember Moon was declared unable to compete by the NXT Medical Staff, removing her from tonight’s opening match against Sarray. Kai will now face Sarray in place of Moon.

Shortly after the announcement, Moon took to Twitter to share a statement of frustration. The tweet read:

“.@wwenxt This has been an extremely rough month, I am angry and gutted! I was really look forward to this match and getting back on track but just got another pothole in the road. I’m sorry!”

Also scheduled for Tuesday, NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez will confront Dakota Kai. The New Zealand native turned on the women’s champ on the July 27 episode of NXT, stating that she was no one’s “sidekick”. The two will face each other for the NXT Women’s Championship at TakeOver 36 on Sunday, August 22.

Also scheduled for Tuesday’s episode:

  • Ilja Dragunov will appear
  • Odyssey Jones will face Trey Baxter in the semifinals of the NXT Breakout Tournament
  • A special look at the feud between Samoa Joe and NXT Champion Karrion Kross
  • General Manager William Regal will act as a mediator for a face-to-face segment featuring Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly

Spoiler: A Return Is Set For Tonight’s RAW

A spoiler has been revealed, and a Superstar is reportedly set to return for Monday’s episode of WWE RAW.

According to a report from PWInsider, Jeff Hardy was seen backstage for tonight’s RAW, and will return to the ring to wrestle.

Hardy was last seen in action on July 19, when he defeated a RAW TV-debuting Karrion Kross. Hardy was removed from TV after testing positive for COVID-19 to quarantine himself for two weeks.

The positive COVID-19 test put a stop to the feud with Kross that had reportedly been planned. Fightful indicated that the original plan was for Kross to face Jeff Hardy again on the July 26 episode of Raw, and lose for a second time.

There’s no word on who Hardy will face for his return. The following matches and segments have been announced for Monday’s show, starting at 8pm EST:

  • Randy Orton returns after being off RAW for over a month to open the show
  • Bobby Lashley will respond to Goldberg regarding his SummerSlam WWE title defense
  • Charlotte Flair will address loss to Nikki A.S.H. in last week’s non-title No Holds Barred match

Olympian Tamyra Mensah-Stock Wants To Compete For WWE

Maybe one day fans will see Olympian Tamyra Mensah-Stock on weekly WWE programming.

Mensah-Stock, who won the gold medal in women’s freestyle wrestling at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, is an American sport wrestler who is not only the reigning Olympic and World Champion in wrestling freestyle, but is currently the number one ranked female wrestler in the world.

During an appearance on Olympics coverage for NBCUniversal, Mensah-Stock was asked if she they she could ever compete for WWE. The Houston-native yelled, “I want to!” WWE tweeted the video of the interview, indicating they definitely have their eyes on the 28-year-old.

The Wayland Baptist University graduate wouldn’t be the first Olympian to compete for WWE, nor would she be the first sports-centric athlete to enter WWE as a new Superstar.

WWE would be lucky to have Tamyra Mensah-Stock, who is the first African-American female Olympic gold medalist in the sport of wrestling and only the second American to win Olympic gold in women’s wrestling after Helen Maroulis.

WWE SummerSlam Promoted With Odd Event Name

Fans were met with an odd event name when trying to buy tickets for WWE Summerslam.

Twitter user @GodofWrestling posted Friday about receiving two separate notifications via Ticketmaster for SummerSlam, with the promoted event name “WWE SummerSlam vs. WWE”. Several Twitter users replied to the tweet claiming they also received the same notifications.

Shortly after the odd notifications were sent, the name was changed back to “WWE SummerSlam”.

Though the peculiar event name could have been a mistake, WWE has stated that fans can expect some surprises for the upcoming show.

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Stephanie McMahon was quoted saying as saying:

“SummerSlam is special, It’s the first time we’re going to an NFL stadium [for SummerSlam], and it’s only the second time we’ve ever been in a stadium. It’s about bringing people together and celebrating these huge moments.

This will be our biggest pay-per-view with full capacity [since Elimination Chamber in March 2020],” said Stephanie McMahon, “and we can’t wait to show off our surprises, too.”

WWE’s biggest show of the summer takes place August 21 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

WWE Returns To Classifying NXT As Developmental

WWE is back to classifying the Black-And-Gold Brand as developmental.

As pointed out by Lavie Margolin on Twitter, according to their quarter report with the SEC, WWE has once again labeled NXT as “developmental”.

In page 33 of the report, under “Operating Metrics”, item #3 states:

“Metrics exclude the events for our domestic and United Kingdom NXT brands. These are our developmental brands that typically conduct their events in smaller venues with lower ticket prices. We did not conduct any ticketed NXT events in the periods presented.”

This recent classification as a “developmental” territory is contradictory to recent statements made by WWE executives and Superstars that concluded NXT was considered a third brand.

Earlier this year, Triple H stated that Finn Balor’s return cemented NXT as WWE’s third brand.

Two years ago, Adam Cole was quoted saying in an interview with Newsweek, “We’ve called it this for a while, but we look at NXT as the third brand,” when asked about whether the show’s move to USA qualified it as so.

With live events back in play due to looser COVID restrictions, it will be interesting to see if WWE still keeps NXT in developmental classification.

New WWE Action Figures Revealed At San Diego Comic-Con

A batch of new WWE action figures are on their way to fans, soon.

Friday, WWE and Mattel joined forces to host a fan panel during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, where they revealed their newest round of upcoming WWE figure releases.

The panel was moderated by WWE broadcaster Sam Roberts, and featured Mattel Elite Squad representatives Bill Miekina and Steve Ozer. WWE Superstars Johnny Gargano, Bianca Belair, Dominik Mysterio, and Adam Cole also dropped by at various points to help reveal the figures.

Among those released are various Elite Collection Series, Ultimate Edition, and Retro figures, along with figures for Masters of the WWE Universe Wave 8. Superstars with new figures range from current NXT and WWE talent like Ember Moon, Keith Lee, Santos Escobar, Damian Priest, Reckoning, to legends like Trish Stratus, Sgt. Slaughter, Zodiac, and The Goon.

The panel revealed several new Championship Showdown 2-Pack sets, including the Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair set, and the Drew McIntyre and Goldberg set. New Royal Rumble, Survivor Series, and WrestleMania Elite figures were also added to the new batch, which included new Dakota Kai, Bayley, Bret Hart, and Vince McMahon figures.

New entries into the Hollywood Elite Collection Series was introduced, featuring The Rock as Luke Hobbs from “Hobbs & Shaw”, John Cena as Jakob Toretto from “F9”, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper as John Nada from “They Live”, Roman Reigns as Mateo Hobbs from “Hobbs & Shaw”, and even The Rock as “The Scorpion King”.

Most notable from the panel, was the new campaign from WWE and Mattel seeking backers for the WWE Ultimate New Generation Arena. The crowdfunding campaign requires at least 5,000 backers at $250 each before Aug. 22 to produce the set. More features are “unlocked” after 7,000 and 8,000 backers are reached. At the time of this article, there are 660 backers.

WWE released a gallery of photos featuring the new Mattel WWE action figures Friday, as well.

The entire San Diego Comic-Con virtual panel that aired Friday can be seen at the video below.

Chelsea Green Back In A Cast After Slammiversary

Chelsea Green’s doctor has put her back in a cast.

July 17, Green made her return to Impact Wrestling at their annual pay-per-view event Slammiversary, teaming up with her fiancé Matt Cardona in a winning effort against Brian Myers and Tenille Dashwood. During the match, Green landed a one-arm Canadian Destroyer on Myers.

Friday, Green posted x-ray photos on Twitter before visiting her surgeon for a follow-up on her injured arm, stating she had plans to show her doctor a video of the Destroyer.

Later Friday, Green updated her followers on Twitter by revealing her doctor had watched the video and put her arm back in a cast.

Green had appeared at Slammiversary with a cast on her arm; commentary claiming she had been cleared medically to compete. On her podcast “Green with Envy with Chelsea Green”, Green confirmed she had wrestled with a broken arm, noting Tennessee doesn’t have a health commission. A health commission can prevent a wrestler from competing when injured.

“So, obviously I’ve been talking about the familiarity—look at that fancy f*cking word. Ah, the familiarity of IMPACT. But one thing that wasn’t familiar, clearly, was wrestling with a broken arm,” started Green. “Slammiversary was in Tennessee, so they don’t have a health commission, so a health commission cannot ban me from wrestling with a broken arm. See what I mean? So I f*cking did it. YOLO, right?”

Green continued by stating that though her arm didn’t feel the best, it was worth it to wrestle, in her opinion.

“Last week, obviously I was upset that I couldn’t wrestle for Ring of Honor in the Women’s Championship tournament, but I understood why,” shared Green. “The Maryland Commission was not having any of it. But in Nashville, however, it is balls to the wall. Woo! We were good to go, so I took the opportunity and I ran with it, cast and all. I will say it doesn’t feel great, okay. Doesn’t feel 10 out of 10, but it was 10 out of 10 worth it, 100 percent worth it. A little pain, a lot of pleasure; that sounds dirty.”

The Canadian native first suffered a broken wrist during her first TV match on the March 13, 2019 NXT TV tapings, undergoing surgery the next day. Green re-injured her wrist on her SmackDown debut in November 2020, placing her on the sidelines again. After months on inactivity, WWE released Green in April, despite having signed a three-year contract.

On the same episode of “Green with Envy with Chelsea Green”, Green shared how the injury affected her mentally while preparing for Slammiversary.

“I just had this weird mental blockage,” shared Green. “I didn’t realize how much this injury would affect me mentally this time around. I think the first and second time that I broke my arm, I truly believed in my head that it was a freak accident. So, when it happened for the third time, because this is the third time I’ve broken my arm, if you don’t know, I really was in my head about it.”

Green worked recent Impact Wrestling tapings, and appeared on Thursday’s episode of Impact Wrestling in a six-man tag team match with Jake Something and Cardona. She’ll also be featured in a tournament for the upcoming Impact Homecoming special, which was also taped during the same time.

Four NXT Stars Reported Backstage at WWE SmackDown

Details have surfaced stating four NXT Superstars are present backstage for Friday’s WWE SmackDown.

Friday, Xyon Quinn, formerly known as Daniel Vidot, tweeted a picture of him and NXT Superstar Odyssey Jones backstage in Houston. Later Friday afternoon, PWInsider reported that Xia Li, Austin Theory and Aliyah were also backstage.

Prior to their debut on main, Shotzi, Toni Storm and Tegan Nox all showcased their skills in dark matches, for WWE management’s consideration. It’s likely these four NXT Superstars are also wrestling in dark matches for similar reasons.

Wednesday, WrestleVotes disclosed that a trade had happened between rosters, landing Mandy Rose back on WWE NXT and moving Aliyah up to WWE Raw. Multiple outlets confirmed that Aliyah impressed management during a scouting trip.

These reports also follow the rumored return of Finn Balor on tonight’s Money In The Bank go-home show.

Potential Spoiler On Another Big Return For Tonight’s WWE SmackDown

Another speculated WWE return has surfaced, this time rumored to happen during Friday’s SmackDown.

A tweet posted by WrestleVotes on Friday hints at the possible return of Finn Balor for Friday’s episode of Smackdown in Houston. The tweet states Friday’s “SmackDown will be #2Sweet & #4Everyone“, referencing Balor.

Balor returned to NXT in October 2019 for a stint, winning the WWE NXT Championship from Adam Cole almost a year later in September 2020. Balor successfully defended the title several times before losing it to the current WWE NXT Champion Karrion Kross in April at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.

Now it appears Balor is back to the main roster as WWE returns to the road during the big push to SummerSlam.

The rumor of Balor’s SmackDown return joins several others during the final weeks leading up to August’s event.

According to a report on Thursday from PWInsider, Becky Lynch is set to make her return from maternity leave this weekend at Money In The Bank.

Also on Thursday, Fightful reported that WWE had plans in place for Goldberg to return to challenge WWE Champion Bobby Lashley in a title match at SummerSlam. Additionally, Fightful reported on Tuesday that John Cena was to appear on WWE programming over the next two weeks.

All of the reports and rumored returns line up with Stephanie McMahon’s promise in a recent interview with Sports Illustrated that the company had surprises in store for their return to the road.

The IIconics, Now Free Agents, Bid Farewell To WWE Personas

The duo formerly known as The IIconics said goodbye to “Peyton Royce” and “Billie Kay”, Wednesday.

Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee took to Twitter to say farewell to their old WWE gimmicks, expressing gratitude towards the opportunity to portray and create the personalities.

As pointed out by Reddit user u/braincloud215 on r/SquaredCircle, the pair’s WWE 90-day non-compete clause expires on the same day they announce their separation from the names.

Similarly, Tommy End, formerly Aleister Black, posted a video on his Instagram account in which he escapes from an “insane asylum” the same day he debuted for AEW.

In June, The IIconics appeared on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast and revealed they were unable to work in the US, due to issues with their visa status after leaving WWE.

Though it stands as mere speculation, it is interesting to note that the two former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions say “adios” to their old gimmicks on a Wednesday—the same day AEW Dynamite airs.

AEW All Out 2021 Sells Out Almost Immediately

Once again, tickets for AEW All Out sold out almost immediately.

Thursday, AEW held a ticket presale for the event, which resulted in nearly every ticket inside Chicago’s NOW Arena to sell out. Friday, the general public was given access to the remaining seats, which were also snagged incredibly quickly, selling-out the venue for the September event.

POST Wrestling reported they were told once AEW arrives in Illinois and finalize production set-up, the company may have more seats available.

According to WrestleTix, a Twitter account that posts live ticket information for numerous wrestling promotions including AEW, NJPW, and WWE, the map held 9,496 seats, with suite seats likely increasing that number. The venue’s website itself states the center has 11,800 seats.

WrestleTix also reported that the All Out sold out before the que could lighten, sharing screenshots that revealed very few seats were available before the general public sale began. Even the Trio Combo packages were mostly sold out when WrestleTix made it to the front of the ticket line.

In 2019, AEW also sold out the same venue in 15 minutes for their inaugural All Out event.

This is the third All Out in the event series, the second to be held an hour outside of Chicago in Hoffman Estates, IL. AEW will hold a total of three events at NOW Arena during the same week as All Out— including Dynamite on Wednesday and Rampage on Sunday.

AEW All Out Week begins Wednesday, Sept. 1 with Dynamite. AEW All Out 2021 takes place Sunday, Sept. 5, live from NOW Arena starting at 7:30pm EST.

Stephanie McMahon Says Live Shows “Will Look And Feel Different”

Stephanie McMahon is promising fans that live shows will feature a different look and feel when it comes to production and creative.

During an interview with Variety, McMahon explained how excited WWE is to get back to live shows, stressing how important fans are to the wrestling experience.

“I think I can speak for everybody that touches the WWE Universe — whether it is our fans, our Superstars, our employees, or our partners — we absolutely cannot wait to get back together and come back home where we belong,” McMahon told Variety. “And even though we never went off the air and we continue to produce our content, even though we brought in nearly a million virtual fans over this time period through the ThunderDome with over 70 plus live shows, there’s still just such a huge component missing without fans physically in attendance.”

WWE’s Chief Brand Officer also revealed how the company’s stint inside the Thunderdome taught the crew many lessons, describing how WWE plans on using those lessons to create change at the upcoming live shows.

“In the ThunderDome, we were able to experiment with different types of technology,” stated McMahon. “And we needed to over-deliver for our partners and our fans watching at home. But now we have the ability to apply all of those learnings to the live event experience with our fans. So from a production and storytelling standpoint, it will look and feel different.”

McMahon continued, “We’re going to have a new set design, a new presentation of our talents, different locations, and arena setups. We’re going to be utilizing augmented reality in a way that we never have before. We experimented with it a lot during Thunderdome, but it is now going to be incorporated into our talent entrances. There’s also going to be animated graphics. It’s going to be so exciting and so different than anything we’ve done before.”

The interview could be alluding to other interviews where Stephanie McMahon has stated that WWE has some surprises in store for SummerSlam. It’s also been rumored that WWE will have special “themed” live events to drive ticket sales.

In May, WWE announced they would return to live events beginning in July 16 with a 25-city tour, starting with the return’s debut at the Toyota Center in Houston for SmackDown.

AEW Faced Many Roster Changes During Daily’s Place Residency

AEW is close to finishing up residency at Daily’s Place, and their roster has changed drastically since first arriving at the start of the pandemic.

As noted by William R. Washington of the RBR Wrestling Podcast, AEW has lost and gained many notable roster members during the company’s ‘residency’ at the amphitheater in downtown Jacksonville.

Since housing weekly shows at Daily’s Place, AEW has lost Awesome Kong, Bea Priestley, CIMA, Jimmy Havoc, Sadie Gibbs, and Shanna from their roster.

The promotion added many more wrestlers to the roster during their time at Daily’s Place, however. Over 25 wrestlers were added, including The Acclaimed, Anna Jay, Eddie Kingston, Ethan Page, and wrestling legends like Christian Cage, Matt Hardy, and Sting.

AEW Fight For the Fallen in July 2019 was AEW’s first event at Daily’s Place, and the promotion made it a regular home starting in March 2020. Since last March, AEW has held 165 events at the arena, including annual events All Out, Full Gear, and Revolution.

The company made the decision to house their weekly shows at the location after traveling during the COVID pandemic became impossible. Originally, shows were taped with no audience, but after health restrictions loosened, AEW added fans and live shows to their schedule.

AEW will finish its residency at Daily’s Place and return to live show tours in mid-July. The company has stated they will return to the arena in the future to hold events.

Andrade El Idolo On Adding Nakamura And Charlotte To Los Ingobernables

Andrade El Idolo is looking to expand Los Ingobernables to include two of his favorite WWE wrestlers.

During an interview with Hugo Savinovich of Lucha Libre Online, newly-signed AEW roster member Andrade El Idolo expressed interest in working with Charlotte Flair and Shinsuke Nakamura as new members of Los Ingobernables.

“It’s a wonderful pitch,” said Andrade. “Nakamura is a great talent, so are RUSH and Charlotte. I have never been with my fiancé [Charlotte Flair] on TV, so it would be a dream to be with her, whether that be in this faction or not.”

Andrade continued by stating, “I also have never been on TV with Ric [Flair], who is always a great person with me, so it would be very cool to make a faction with my friend, RUSH, with my fiancé and my father-in-law, and with [Shinsuke] Nakamura, who has treated me well since Japan and is always a great person. This group would be wonderful, and I think we would make history. I hope this dream becomes a reality in a not-so-distant future.”

Los Ingobernables, which as a stable has not competed since 2019, has featured members La Sombra (Andrade El Idolo), RUSH, La Mascara, La Bestia Del Ring, El Terrible, Tetsuya Naito, Marco Corleone, and Rey Escorpion, competing primarily in CMLL. In New Japan Pro Wrestling, the stable Los Ingobernables de Japon consists of member Naito, EVIL, BUSHI, SANADA, Hiromu Takahashi, and Shingo Takagi.

Watch the entire interview with Andrade El Idolo from Lucha Libre Online below, where he also speaks on potentially reuniting with former manager Zelina Vega.

WWE Las Vegas Tryout Application Reveals Ideal Superstar Traits

The application to participate in WWE’s upcoming Las Vegas tryout camp reveals unique details about what the company looks for in prospective recruits.

Earlier this month, WWE announced they would hold a multi-day talent tryout in Las Vegas as part of SummerSlam week, hoping to find “the next generation of Superstars”.

On Monday, WWE announced they were accepting applications by releasing a promo that featured Mandy Rose, who shares her pre-WWE resume, before inviting interested parties to apply at the link in the tweet.

When initially opened, the application asks for basic information before sending the applicant to the meat of the questionnaire. Included are basic questions on contact information and physical build, as well as questions on experience within wrestling.

Also included in the question set, however, are questions that ask the applicant to describe any acting and public speaking experience, their nearest airport city, if they have any military and/or athletic background, and if they speak any other foreign languages; all questions indicative of the type of person WWE looks for when choosing their next Superstar.

Applicants are also able to describe what type of background best fits their experience by choosing “athlete”, “wrestler”, “referee”, or “other”; indicating that WWE is not only considering wrestlers during the SummerSlam tryouts.

It’s well known that WWE considers themselves a “Sports Entertainment” company, rather that just a wrestling promotion. The tryout application confirms this by making allowances for those who have skills other than wrestling.

WWE’s invite-only Las Vegas tryouts are scheduled for SummerSlam week, from Wednesday, August 18 to Friday, August 20.

SummerSlam takes place Sunday, August 21st from Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.

Jennifer Decker On Differences Between AEW & WWE

Former model, spokesperson, and sports journalist Jennifer Decker with Nick Hausman of Wrestling Inc about her new role within All Elite Wrestling, and how AEW differs from WWE.

Decker participated in a 2012 WWE tryout, after the company placed a casting call for new Divas. The Miami native sustained a concussion and a stress fracture in her neck after two-and-a-half weeks at the camp, and was unable to continue her wrestling career.

The former Sports Illustrated columnist has found herself in the wrestling community once again, where she’ll act as host for AEW’s “Double or Nothing” weigh-in and press conference.

Decker was asked how AEW differed from WWE.

“It’s fun,” Decker said. “You know how you go to one job and it feels super corporate, cookie-cutter and kind of unoriginal? Then you see another world and you’re like, ‘Wow! This is the fun I was supposed to be having.’ It’s just a reinvigorated environment. You feel the level of excitement around it and you know you’re a part of something that’s building and is gonna become amazing.”

Decker was also asked if AEW would be ran in ways similar to sports promotions, since AEW owner Shahid Khan also owned the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Fullham F.C.

“I think so. They are creating something that hasn’t had a template before… They are completely reinventing professional wrestling as we know it,” Decker said of AEW.

“You don’t bring on people like Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho and create something ordinary. The Young Bucks, Cody – they have all built something from nothing as far as “Being the Elite” and, “The Road to Double or Nothing”, and The Nightmare Family. These are all things they have built bare bones and that’s something they can be really proud of and is something this company is gonna stand for.”

Decker graduated from Florida State University, and continued in roles primarily in the world of sports journalism. She acted as “Gameday Host” for the New York Jets, a co-host of the Versus sports news show The Daily Line, and was the segment host on the ABC show Race to March Madness.

Decker will host AEW’s weigh-in and press conference for “Double or Nothing” as a part of Starrcast II on Friday, May 24, streaming live on Fite.tv.

Readers can listen to the entire Jennifer Decker interview here.

Do you agree that AEW will be more original than a promotion like WWE?

WWE Superstar Shakeup Results (Night 1)

WWE’s Superstar Shakeup kicked off on this week’s WWE RAW. Several Superstars have moved from SmackDown to Raw. The draft continues Tuesday night with SmackDown Live. WWE also typically announces more brand switches online, so it will probably be a few days before the dust settles and all moves are finalized.

This year’s shake-up is the thirteenth ‘draft’ produced by WWE. The rosters are freshened up, creating new possible storylines and feuds. Previously it was known as the WWE Draft. The event evolved into theSuperstar ShakeUp in 2017.

The Miz

The Miz was the first Superstar Shakeup move from SmackDown to Raw. He surprised Shane McMahon at the start of Raw.

Miz has been tossed back-and-forth between Raw and SmackDown Live since his main roster debut in 2006. Shane McMahon, as of now, is still a SmackDown Live staple, so it will be interesting to see how his feud with Miz continues to play out.

Andrade and Zelina Vega

The second draft to the Blue Brand came in the form of a duo. Zelina Vega and Andrade appeared on Raw, taking part in a match against the Intercontinental Champion, Finn Balor. Vega and Andrade haven’t had much title success on SmackDown, but that could all change now that they’re on Team Red.

Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio interrupted Elias as the next new draft to Raw. Mysterio has spent the majority of his time on SmackDown feuding with Andrade and Superstars like Samoa Joe. Mysterio could easily continue his battle with Andrade, but it appears that NXT call-up Lars Sullivan has his eyes on him, first.

The Usos

The Usos appeared on Raw’s Superstar Shake-Up from Tuesday’s brand as a pair, moving to their new home intact as a tag team. They lost their SmackDown Tag Team Titles to The Hardy Boyz on the SmackDown after WrestleMania, but they’re sure to be after Raw‘s belts. Unless Roman Reigns moves to Tuesday nights, the Usos will also be on the same brand as their cousin.

https://twitter.com/tde_wrestling/status/1117962288730968064

EC3

EC3 is officially on the Raw brand now, but it was a rough first night for him. He issued an ‘open challenge’ that was answered by Braun Strowman. The giant absolutely destroyed EC3.

Ricochet

The One and Only Ricochet is officially part of the Raw brand. He competed in the 8-man tag team match that opened this week’s show. Since Aleister Black was not drafted yet, it appears this popular upstart tag team might be going their separate ways already.

Lacey Evans

Lacey Evans defeated veteran Natalya in her first match as a member of the Raw roster. She looked great in her ‘debut’ and appears to be the top challenger for the reigning queen of both WWE’s women’s divisions, Becky Lynch.

Cedric Alexander

A video package aired announcing former WWE Cruiserweight champion Cedric Alexander is now on Raw.

Naomi

Bayley could not get a hold of her tag team partner Sasha Banks, but she a replacement in Naomi, who is now on Raw. The defeated Women’s tag team champions the IIconics, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay, in about two minutes.

https://twitter.com/tde_wrestling/status/1117967623180947456

Eric Young

Sanity leader Eric Young has is now on Raw. His move to Raw was flashed on an on-screen graphic.

https://twitter.com/DSmithScenes/status/1117970985880379394

AJ Styles

Former WWE Champion AJ Styles was the final Superstar to jump to Raw. Throughout the show, WWE advertised Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and a mystery partner against Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley as the main event.

It was teased that Rollins and Reigns’ partner would be a SmackDown acquisition and WWE delivered in a big way.

Update On Sasha Banks Taking Time Off For ‘Personal Reasons’

We have an update on Sasha Banks’ situation, courtesy of television personality Wendy Williams. On Wednesday’s episode of the Wendy Williams Show, Williams announced that Sasha Banks would not be making her scheduled appearance due to a “family emergency”.

You can see footage of Williams’ comments below, courtesy of Casey Michael of Squared Circle Sirens:

The episode was set to be filmed Tuesday, and when Banks missed the filming, show staff and insiders were said to be “fuming” that the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion had “bailed” last minute.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful released a report stating, “Whatever the situation surrounding Sasha Banks, many on the SmackDown crew had no idea that she’d even missed her morning obligation (despite her tweeting about it), let alone were clued in about what is going on.”

Questions regarding Banks’ whereabouts started Monday on Twitter, when Banks didn’t appear on Raw. The questions intensified when Banks tweeted out a post with a very melancholy undertone.

The news that Banks missed The Wendy Williams Show last minuted only added to the concern over what seemed to be the 27-year-old wrestler’s “disappearance”. Though the situation is still grim, the explanation that Banks has left due to a family emergency at least gives fans a plausible reason for her MIA status.

Sasha Banks and tag team partner Bayley dropped their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, and their first-ever reign, last Sunday to the IIconics, during WrestleMania.

The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection were picked as clear favorites to retain the titles, and when they belts were stripped away, fans were not surprised to see vague and troublesome social media messages. There’s been plenty of fans and critics calling for Banks and Bayley to leave WWE for other promotions, considering how poorly the company has used them since their call-ups from NXT.

The staff at SEScoops wishes for a swift recovery for Sasha Banks’ family, and we hope to see The Boss back in the limelight soon.

What’s your theory on Sasha Banks’ behavior, as of late? What are your thoughts on her enigmatic tweet?
