Ethan Page has issued a bold invitation to WWE legend John Cena, suggesting the two meet in NXT during Cena’s ongoing retirement tour. The challenge follows Page’s recent interaction with another iconic figure, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, during the NXT New Year’s Evil special, where Page proved he’s ready to share the spotlight with some of wrestling’s biggest stars.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio with Bully Ray, Page reflected on his career and emphasized his readiness to take on top-tier talent. Drawing attention to his confidence and ambition, Page didn’t hesitate to call out Cena directly.
“There’s not a single wrestler living that intimidates me,” Page declared. “John Cena, on this retirement tour—hey, stop by NXT, pal. I’ll look you dead in the eyes. We could do something.
There’s not a single living, breathing wrestler that would make me feel anything other than excitement for the opportunity to take their spot and their money.”

Page also spoke about his growing list of career highlights, including sharing the ring with wrestling legends like Bully Ray, and his desire to continue proving himself at the highest level. “I’ve shared the ring with many Hall of Famers, many big names, many legends, many of the most dangerous men in professional wrestling,” Page said.
“Just one step at a time to reach the top. That man [The Rock] was the top. I was prepared for this. I’ve been prepared for this, and I’ll continue to be prepared for this.”
Ethan Page’s invitation to Cena underlines his confidence in facing wrestling’s biggest names, reinforcing his determination to climb to the top of the industry.
Whether Cena accepts remains to be seen, but Page is clearly ready to seize any opportunity to cement his legacy in the sport.

Former WWE wrestler Tom Pestock, better known as Baron Corbin, stirred up conversation on Twitter by defending AEW President Tony Khan’s practice of extending wrestlers’ contracts to account for time missed due to injuries. Responding to criticism of Khan’s handling of talents like Rey Fenix, Pestock offered a detailed perspective on the nuances of wrestling contracts and workers’ rights, making it clear he was not angling for a job but instead contributing to an important industry discussion.
The debate began when a fan criticized Khan for not releasing Fenix, arguing that keeping him under contract without utilizing him actively was unfair. Pestock, however, countered with a pragmatic take, emphasizing the mutual obligations of contracts. “If you sign a contract, you honor it,” he wrote. “Would it have been okay if Tony didn’t pay him while he was hurt or out of action? The answer is no, because Tony signed the contract as well.”
If you sign a contract you honor it. Would it have been okay if Tony didn’t pay him while he was hurt or out of action? The answer is no bc Tony signed the contract as well. You can’t switch teams after getting what you want and signing the contract.
This set off a back-and-forth where Pestock clarified misconceptions about how contracts work in wrestling promotions like AEW, WWE, and Impact Wrestling. He pointed out that adding time to contracts to account for injuries is standard practice across the industry and not unique to AEW.
“Everyone who gets hurt gets injury time. Doesn’t matter if it’s WWE, AEW, or TNA. That’s part of it,” Pestock explained.
Everyone who gets hurt gets injury time. Doesn’t matter if it’s WWE AEW or TNA
That’s part of it.
And maybe fénix doesn’t want to work. Only him and Tony know that
Addressing Misconceptions About Fenix and Worker Rights
Several fans raised concerns about other aspects of Fenix’s situation, including merchandise sales and restrictions on working independent shows. Some suggested that taking down Fenix’s merchandise from AEW’s store was a petty move meant to freeze him out. Pestock countered by saying that Fenix is free to sell his own merchandise, implying the wrestler still has avenues for income while under contract.
Another point of contention was whether AEW actively restricts wrestlers from working elsewhere. While some fans claimed AEW talent like Ricky Starks had been barred from certain independent appearances, Pestock suggested that Fenix might have the option to work elsewhere if he chooses. “Correct, he is not prohibited from running other shows,” Pestock responded to a fan. However, he acknowledged that ultimately only Tony Khan and Fenix know the full details of their agreement.
On Setting Precedents and Workers’ Options
When asked whether Khan’s reluctance to release Fenix stemmed from a desire to avoid setting a precedent, Pestock did not directly confirm but seemed to dismiss the idea that Fenix’s departure would negatively impact AEW. He also speculated that the situation might not be as one-sided as it appears.
“Maybe Fenix doesn’t want to work. Only him and Tony know that,” he remarked.
Despite his defenses of AEW and Tony Khan, Pestock maintained an objective stance, describing his contributions to the discussion as purely conversational. Responding to accusations of “fishing for work” he quipped, “I don’t want a job, but nice try. I’m cool, trust me.” Pestock also admitted uncertainty about whether he would ever sign another wrestling contract, leaving the door open for future opportunities without committing to a return.
Insights on Wrestling Contracts and Workers’ Rights
The conversation highlighted Pestock’s interest in the legal and ethical dimensions of wrestling contracts. He emphasized the importance of honoring agreements while acknowledging the frustration fans and wrestlers might feel in certain situations. His commentary underscored a larger debate about the balance between protecting workers’ rights and maintaining the integrity of contracts in the high-stakes world of professional wrestling.
While the specifics of Rey Fenix’s situation remain unclear, Pestock’s perspective offered valuable insights into industry practices and shed light on the complexities of balancing business interests with individual freedoms in wrestling.
Brooke Hogan, daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, has announced the birth of her twins, Oliver Andrew Oleksy and Molly Gene Oleksy, on January 15, 2025. The former TNA personality shared the joyous news on Instagram, captioning a photo with her newborns, “Our hearts have been made whole by the arrival of these two sweet souls we get to love. God is good.”
This milestone makes Hulk Hogan a first-time grandfather, adding another chapter to the legacy of one of wrestling’s most iconic families. Fans are already speculating whether the third generation of Hogans might step into the wrestling ring in the decades to come.
Brooke, who served as an on-screen authority figure in TNA Wrestling from 2012 to 2013, has largely stayed out of the spotlight in recent years. However, her father’s influence in professional wrestling continues to draw interest in her personal life.
Brooke married NHL player Steven Oleksy in a private ceremony in Florida in 2022, a union kept secret until late 2023. Oleksy, a Stanley Cup-winning defenseman with the Pittsburgh Penguins, is also an entrepreneur and founder of ESE Hockey. While the couple values their privacy, Oleksy has praised Brooke’s strength and authenticity, calling her the “most authentic person I’ve ever encountered.”
With the Hogan legacy expanding, wrestling fans are left wondering if Oliver and Molly might one day follow in their grandfather’s legendary footsteps. Could we see the third generation of Hogans stepping into the squared circle by 2050? Time will tell.
Drew McIntyre recently reflected on his interactions with CM Punk, offering a candid take on their dynamic both on-screen and off. Speaking openly to Alex McCarthy for the Daily Mail, McIntyre acknowledged his no-holds-barred approach toward Punk during their feud, emphasizing how Punk stood out by handling the pressure without faltering.
“I went completely gangbusters for him,” McIntyre explained, recounting his aggressive tactics, particularly on social media. He clarified that, while he can be limited in what he says on TV, his personal social platforms give him freedom to be unfiltered. Despite his relentless approach, McIntyre admitted Punk remained unfazed:
“I went at him and went at him. And I’ve done that with a couple of people, and they have got a boo boo face. Not that I care, but he didn’t. He ate it like a man and then came back with what he had to say. So I’ll give him that.”
McIntyre also mentioned that WWE did not intervene to tone down his rhetoric, further demonstrating the intensity of their storyline. “The company could have asked me to pull back if they wanted me to, and I’d have said, ‘No, it’s my social.’”
Although McIntyre’s comments hint at mixed feelings toward Punk, he seemed to appreciate Punk’s resilience and ability to engage in the back-and-forth exchange. His remarks offer insight into the complexities of their professional relationship and highlight the impact of their feud.

The wrestling world has been abuzz with excitement following the announcement of a groundbreaking collaboration between WWE and TNA Wrestling. Wrestling stars took to social media to share their thoughts on the unexpected partnership.
WWE Superstar Bayley joked, “Finally, my TNA Gut Check tryout has paid off!!!” referencing TNA’s developmental program from years past.
Santino Marella, known for his comedic persona, chimed in with, “This feels so right!!” hinting at the potential nostalgia and excitement surrounding the deal.
Mickie James, who has deep ties to both WWE and TNA, expressed her enthusiasm with, “Ooooh… I like this,” adding fuel to the growing speculation about what this collaboration might entail.
Zachary Wentz, currently a part of WWE NXT, delivered a series of humorous tweets. In one, he asked, “Yo, so when y’all gonna let me tag with @gigidolin_wwe at TNA? We do mixed tags over here! Pleasseeeeee!” In another, he quipped about his history with TNA, saying, “I do believe @TheTreyMiguel and I are still the number one contenders for the NXT Tag Titles right?”
Former WWE Champion John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield (JBL) also reacted in his signature style, tweeting, “I guess I should pack an extra clothesline for Dallas next week,” likely hinting at potential cross-promotional appearances.
Meanwhile, A.J. Francis joked about the unpredictability of the wrestling world, saying, “When you walk in the back door after they kicked you out the front…”
Xia Brookside, a former NXT UK star, raised eyebrows with her cryptic tweet, “Am I going to @WWENXT?!”
The possibility of talent swaps between WWE and TNA has fans speculating about dream matches and new opportunities for wrestlers across both rosters.
Nathan Frazer kept it simple yet intriguing with, “The possibilities…”
What the Deal Means for Wrestling Fans
The WWE-TNA deal represents a significant shift in the wrestling landscape, creating opportunities for cross-promotional events, dream matchups, and shared storytelling. Both WWE and TNA have rich histories and passionate fanbases, and this partnership could bridge the gap between the two companies in unprecedented ways.
The hype for WWE 2K25 is building, with significant details emerging about new features and updates that could revolutionize the series. Among the highlights are a brand-new match type being teased, a potential “City Mode” inspired by NBA 2K, and a showcase centered around The Bloodline. Here’s the latest news about the game:
Franchise-First Match Type Teased
In a resurfaced clip from an interview with WWE Games Associate Gameplay Producer Bryan Williams, the developer teased the addition of a new match type for WWE 2K25. According to Williams, the new match type would be a first for the series and one of the most visually unique modes ever introduced. He explained:
“It requires a lot of heavy lifting and rethinking about how we do certain things because we’ve never done them before. But you’ve seen what we did with 2K23 with the introduction of WarGames, and I think this team can do anything.”
Speculation among fans has pointed to a few possibilities, including:
NXT’s Iron Survivor Match: A timed match with five competitors, featuring unique rules like a penalty box for pinned competitors.
Strap/Bull Rope Matches: Visually distinct due to the tether between competitors, adding new challenges for the game’s mechanics.
NXT Fight Pit: A no-ropes, cage-style match with a platform on top, requiring significant adjustments to current gameplay systems.
While the exact details remain under wraps, Williams’ comments hint at an ambitious addition that could rival the complexity of 2K23’s WarGames match.
“City Mode” Could Bring Open-World Elements to WWE
Another exciting rumor comes from YouTuber HipHopGamer, who claims that WWE 2K25 will introduce a “City Mode” similar to NBA 2K’s The City. In NBA 2K, players can explore a vast open-world environment, engage in activities, train, shop, and challenge others to matches.
WWE 2K25 will officially introduce a CITY to play in just like NBA 2K series.
Breaking News WWE will also feature inter gender matches and the graphics is better and the gameplay is even smoother.
— HOT97 | HipHopGamer | AMD | PLITCH | THE G.O.A.T. (@HipHopGamer) January 13, 2025
If adapted for WWE, this mode could evolve into an interactive arena environment, where players might:
Explore backstage areas.
Engage in mini-games or side quests.
Start brawls in different parts of the arena.
Interact with NPCs to develop storylines or rivalries.
The concept would mark a big change in the WWE 2K series, but some fans have expressed concern that the developers should prioritize fixing existing game modes before introducing such an ambitious new feature.
The Bloodline Showcase
The game is also rumored to feature a Bloodline Showcase, focusing on Roman Reigns, The Usos, and other members of the faction. If true, this showcase would provide fans with a deep dive into one of the most dominant storylines in recent WWE history.
There’s also speculation on social media and Reddit about the removal of gender restrictions, potentially allowing for intergender matches—a feature last seen in the SmackDown vs. Raw series.
Cover Star Reveal and Key Dates
WWE 2K25’s official reveal is scheduled for January 28, 2025, following a teaser on the January 27th episode of RAW. Early hints suggest Roman Reigns could headline the cover, while Liv Morgan is rumored for the deluxe edition.
The recent multi-year partnership between WWE and TNA Wrestling offers WWE several strategic advantages that can enhance its brand and operations. Key benefits include:
1. Fresh Matchups for WWE Stars
Collaborating with TNA introduces a plethora of new opponents and storylines for WWE talent. This cross-promotional synergy allows for unique encounters that were previously not in play. The integration of TNA talent into NXT programming that we’ve seen already has led to some very compelling matches and moments. WWE/NXT and TNA are about to kick this into high gear.
Joe Hendry’s organic success in TNA Wrestling has brought him to NXT on several occasions
2. Expanded WWE Universe
By incorporating TNA into its ecosystem, WWE effectively broadens its ‘universe’ to encompass WWE, NXT, and now TNA. This expansion facilitates cross-promotional storylines and events, offering fans dream matches that were otherwise impossible. Interestingly, the partnership was made just weeks before the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble. With only a few participants announced for this year’s Royal Rumble, you can be sure we’ll be seeing a healthy does of T-N-A in Indianapolis.
3. Enhanced Talent Development
The partnership provides WWE with an additional platform to develop its talent. Sending wrestlers to TNA offers them diverse experiences and exposure to different wrestling styles, accelerating their growth and readiness for main roster opportunities. This approach aligns with WWE’s strategy of utilizing external promotions for talent development, as seen in past collaborations.
4. Access to TNA’s Dedicated Fanbase
TNA boasts a wildly passionate fanbase that’s stayed with the company through thick and thin. Wrestling promotion’s don’t last 20 years by accident. TNA has been like a cat with nine lives, and it’s been the die-hard fans that have sustained them.
By partnering with TNA, WWE can tap into this audience, potentially converting TNA fans into WWE viewers. This cross-pollination of fanbases can lead to increased viewership and engagement across both promotions. The positive reception of TNA talent on NXT programming indicates a strong interest from fans in such collaborations.
5. Talent Acquisition Opportunities
TNA star Jordynne Grace has also shined in her NXT appearances
The partnership allows WWE to closely monitor emerging TNA talent and swiftly integrate standout performers into its roster. This seamless talent acquisition process ensures that WWE can capitalize on rising stars, enhancing its programming with fresh and popular talent.
The WWE-TNA partnership is a strategic move that offers substantial benefits, from fresh in-ring matchups and expanded storytelling opportunities to enhanced talent development and fan engagement. The collaboration strengthens WWE’s already-rock-solid position in the wrestling industry and gives fans another reason to get excited for what’s to come.
Rapper and actor Action Bronson, who made his professional wrestling debut at AEW Grand Slam 2022, recently revealed that his experience backstage left him with mixed feelings. Despite his enthusiasm for wrestling and his performance alongside HOOK, Bronson described the backstage environment as “cliquey” and suggested that his plans to return to the ring were met with little interest.
One Match and Done?
Action Bronson teamed up with AEW star HOOK at Rampage Grand Slam 2022 in Queens, New York, where they defeated Matt Menard and Angelo Parker. The match, set in Bronson’s home borough, was expected by many to be a one-off event. However, during a recent interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Bronson expressed that he was open to more matches but claimed AEW never reached out to him for a follow-up.
“You know what they do. They don’t call you back. I never got called back. There was an angle there. I’m ready right now. I’m ready for whoever.”
Action Bronson says AEW dropped the ball with him wanting to wrestle again
Weird Vibes, Cliquey Atmosphere
When asked about his backstage experience at AEW, Bronson initially gave a positive response before admitting he found the environment uncomfortable.
“Actually, no. I enjoy the act. I don’t like the…the backstage is weird over there. It’s just weird. It was just like everyone’s cliquey… You could tell it was weird vibes,” he explained.
Bronson also suggested that his opponents, Matt Menard and Angelo Parker, were hesitant to take certain moves during their match, such as top rope splashes and face-busters, likely due to his lack of formal wrestling training. This creative limitation may have added to his frustration with the experience.
Action Bronson is willing to step back into the ring, and named Bad Bunny as a possible opponent, his comments indicate that a return to AEW is not the cards.
Bob Uecker, the beloved baseball broadcaster and WWE Hall of Famer, passed away Thursday at age 90.
Known affectionately as “Mr. Baseball,” Uecker created two of WrestleMania’s most memorable celebrity moments during the late 1980s. At WrestleMania III in 1987, he served as the special guest ring announcer for the historic main event between WWE Champion Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant.
He returned the following year at WrestleMania IV as both a ringside commentator and backstage interviewer. His WrestleMania IV appearance produced an iconic moment when Andre the Giant choked Uecker backstage after the broadcaster’s witty remarks irritated the legendary wrestler. The image of Andre wringing Uecker’s neck became one of WWE’s most enduring clips of the 1980s.
In recognition of his contributions to WWE’s flagship events, Uecker was inducted into the Celebrity Wing of the WWE Hall of Fame in 20103. During his induction, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon noted how Uecker “cemented his place in WWE history” through his WrestleMania appearances.
Beyond wrestling, Uecker enjoyed a 53-year career as the radio voice of the Milwaukee Brewers. He also also starred in the sitcom “Mr. Belvedere” and the “Major League” film series, showcasing the wit and charm that made him such a natural fit for WWE’s grandest stage.
Former WWE and AEW star CJ Perry, known for her time in WWE as Lana, is recovering from successful surgery in New York City. Perry, who has been absent from professional wrestling since her release from AEW in July 2024, shared the news with fans via social media.
In a Twitter video posted just before the procedure, Perry asked for prayers and expressed gratitude to her medical team. “Hey guys, I’m going into surgery right now, please say your prayers for me,” she said, tagging Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and thanking Dr. Chan in the caption.
Hours later, Perry followed up with another post confirming the surgery’s success. She shared a photo from her hospital bed, writing, “Made it out of surgery. Thank you all,” while thanking fans for their support.
This marks the second significant health issue Perry has faced in recent years. In early 2024, she battled a severe MRSA infection that began in her finger and spread to her arm. The life-threatening condition required surgery and intravenous antibiotics after oral treatments proved ineffective.

I can also code-switch because I’ve been in the States for like seven years. So if I go to the store and I’m like, ‘Hey man, you put that thing in the bag,’ I can do both.
People think, ‘Oh, one is real, one is fake.’ But no, both are me. I just have the ability to code-switch. for like seven years. NXT wrestler Jaida Parker is facing backlash after liking an Instagram post advocating for a ban on transgender athletes in women’s and girls’ sports at federally funded educational institutions.
The Instagram post from @Spiritualword highlighted the U.S. House of Representatives’ passage of the “Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act.” This legislation seeks to bar transgender athletes, specifically those assigned male at birth, from competing in sports teams designated for women and girls under Title IX.
The bill frames sex as determined by “reproductive biology and genetics at birth” when addressing athletic participation in schools and colleges receiving federal funding.
The reaction to Parker’s apparent support of the post has been largely negative, with fans and commentators divided over her perceived stance on the highly debated issue.
Jaida Parker addressed the situation in this reply:
Oh I’d love too. @clotheslinings wants to be messy & that’s fine cause ignorance is contagious but what they not gon do is come @ my name cause my opinion doesn’t align with theirs & clearly don’t know how to educate themselves on the real definition of being “transphobic”. ????? https://t.co/uMSIfAR6GC

WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair was backstage during Tuesday’s WWE NXT television broadcast at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Flair has been absent from WWE television since December 2023 due to a severe knee injury. She sustained the injury during a match against Asuka on the December 8, 2023, episode of SmackDown, where she tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus.
Following surgery in January 2024, Flair has been focused on rehabilitation and has shared her recovery journey with fans through social media, often posting training videos and photos.
The 14-time World Champion shared a photo on social media alongside NXT Tag Team Champions Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend, captioned,
“Some girls want to be a princess when they grow up, I wanted to be in a bad b**ch girl gang.”
Charlotte Flair
This caption has sparked speculation among fans about the possibility of Flair leading a faction upon her return to WWE television. While Flair is widely recognized as a standout singles competitor, she was part of a faction during her early days in NXT over a decade ago.
Most wrestling fans know about the (unofficial) Four Horsewomen, but real ones remember the Beautiful, Fierce Females. In November 2013, Charlotte joined The BFFs alongside Sasha Banks and Summer Rae, turning heel after attacking her former tag team partner, Bayley. The BFFs became one of NXT’s most successful factions before disbanding when Summer Rae was called up to the main roster.
Though WWE has not officially announced when Charlotte Flair will return to television, her appearance at this week’s NXT broadcast suggests her return is imminent.
Ethan Page’s transition to NXT has marked a significant turning point in his career, with the wrestler not only capturing the NXT Championship but also sharing the spotlight with The Rock in a backstage segment. This new chapter comes after a period of limited opportunities in AEW, where Page saw minimal TV time before moving to ROH. There, he engaged in a prolonged feud with Tony Nese but eventually found himself off television once more.
In an appearance on Busted Open After Dark with Bully Ray, Page shed light on the difference in how he has been utilized in NXT versus AEW. When asked why AEW failed to capitalize on his potential while NXT has embraced him, Page attributed it to the leadership.
“This company is run by wrestlers.”

Highlighting the wrestler-centric approach in NXT. Elaborating further, Page explained,
“[AEW] didn’t know what they had, and now they do. I’m gone. These guys have me. They have the ability to do whatever it is that they want, and they have chosen to open a door for Ethan Page to absolutely kick wide open.”

Since joining NXT, Page has showcased his talent in high-profile matches, defeating notable opponents like Je’Von Evans, Cedric Alexander, and Dante Chen. His performances have not only elevated his status but also brought a new energy to the NXT roster, with Page visibly thriving in his new environment.
“Busted Open After Dark” is the late-night wrestling podcast, where Dave LaGreca and his rotating co-hosts dive deep into the hottest topics and biggest moments in pro wrestling.
Ethan Page’s NXT Championship Reign
Ethan Page’s reign as NXT Champion stands out as one of the most remarkable in the brand’s history due to its rapid ascent, record-breaking achievements, and notable title defenses.
Page captured the championship on July 7, 2024, at NXT Heatwave, emerging victorious in a fatal four-way match against Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, and Shawn Spears. The match ended dramatically when Page secured the pinfall on Evans after inadvertently landing on him following Williams’ Trick Shot finisher. This victory made history, as Page clinched the NXT Championship a mere 40 days after his debut, the fastest climb to the title in the brand’s history.
Throughout his 86-day reign, which lasted until October 1, 2024, Page successfully defended the championship against formidable competitors such as Dante Chen, Oro Mensah, and Joe Hendry. His reign concluded during NXT’s premiere on The CW Network, where he dropped the title back to Trick Williams in a highly anticipated rematch, with CM Punk serving as the special guest referee.
