Prior to the Vince retirement announcement, WWE announced Levesque was appointed as the new head of Talent Relations. In a press release about his new role, Levesque stated,

WWE Giant Debuts New Look at NXT Live Event

WWE Superstar Commander Azeez has a new look and a new role with the company.

At Saturday’s NXT live event from Cocoa, Florida, Azeez appeared alongside Cora Jade. The duo wrestled a mixed tag match in a losing effort against Ivy Nyle and Sanga.

Azeez previously portrayed Apollo Crews’ Imperial Guardsman on the main roster. That act has disbanded, with both men now wrestling for NXT 2.0.

This latest change is the fourth incarnation of Babatunde Aiyegbusi’s character in WWE. He signed with the company in 2016 after playing football in the Polish American Football League and German Football League. He had a brief stint NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, but only played in the 2015 pre-season.

After debuting as Dabba Kato during the short-lived Raw Underground concept, he was later dubbed Babatunde before transforming into Commander Azeez on the main roster.

It will be interesting to see if WWE sticks with the Azeez & Jade pairing, or if this was a one-off situation while the company decides how to position the 6-foot-9 giant.

Sami Zayn Plans to ‘Run His Mouth’ After He’s Done Wrestling

Sami Zayn discussed the prospect of retiring from active competition on the latest episode of Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions.

Earlier this year, Zayn celebrated the 20th anniversary of his pro wrestling debut. Prior to joining WWE in 2013, Zayn had a lengthy run on the independent scene. Before the WWE Universe met Sami Zayn, he portrayed the masked character El Generico in companies such as PWG, Chikara, ROH and Dragon Gate USA.

At 38 years old, Zayn knows he can’t wrestle forever. He isn’t planning to hang up the boots any time soon, but he has thought about the next phase of his career.

When father time knocks on his door and he’s wrestled his last match, Sami Zan hopes to put his communication skills to good use.

“I don’t know, because it could be taken away when you’re not ready for it. ‘Till the wheels fall off, I suppose, and then when they do, I’d love to run my mouth and be Bobby Heenan, be Paul Heyman, or be whoever, you know.”

– Sami Zayn on retirement

Heenan and Heyman are undeniably two of the greatest talkers in wrestling history, so Zayn clearly has high aspirations for himself. Whether he works as a broadcaster or manager, there’s no doubt that Zayn has a lot to offer the business even outside the ropes.

Zayn has been out of action for several weeks due to an injury. He last competed at WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view. Since then, he’s been seen wearing a sling. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Zayn’s injury is “legit, but it’s not major, and they are hopeful of him being able to wrestle in a few weeks.”

Elsewhere during the interview, Zayn played the ‘word association game’ and named the first thing that came to mind about topics such as Seth Rollins, John Cena and Triple H.

You can stream Sami Zayn’s appearance Broken Skull Sessions right now on Peacock.

Details on Ava Raine’s First Live Promo at Saturday’s NXT Live Event

Ava Raine appeared at Saturday night’s NXT 2.0 live event from Orlando, Florida and cut her first promo in front of a live crowd.

Raine, the daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, impressed fans who were in attendance for this historic moment in her young career.

Raine came to the ring exuding confidence and immediately put the NXT women’s roster on notice. She dubbed herself “The Final Girl” and ran down Cora Jade and the other female competitors in WWE’s developmental program.

Here are some photos from Ava Raine’s first live promo in NXT 2.0:

The Rock is considered one of the best trash talkers in wrestling history, so it should come as no surprise that Raine can hold her own on the mic.

We will update this article if video from Ava Raine’s first promo gets posted online.

In addition to cutting her first live promo on Saturday night, Raine also appeared at Friday’s NXT show from Citrus Springs, FL. She came down to ringside during one of the women’s matches, apparently scouting her competition.

Raine is a 4th generation Superstar and has big shoes to fill. It will be interesting to track her progress in the months ahead.

Big E Reveals “Great News” About His Recovery from a Broken Neck

Big E is checking in with an encouraging update about his health.

Former WWE Champion suffered a broken neck on the March 11th edition of WWE SmackDown. He later provided an update on his condition, revealing that his C1 and C6 vertebrae were fractured. Thankfully, his spinal cord and ligaments were not damaged.

Just days after the incident, Big E stated that doctors informed him he narrowly escaped a stroke, paralysis or death, due to the C1 fracture.

Last month, he posted a video on Instagram of himself throwing his neck brace in the trash, a sign that his recovery is moving in the right direction.

Big E Feels “Tremendous”

On Monday, July 4th, Big E let fans know that he is feeling “tremendous” less than four months after the career-threatening injury.

According to Big E, he still has a long road ahead of him. His C1 is not ossifying just yet, a crucial development that will determine whether or not he’ll be able to wrestle again.

“The current plan is to get more scans at the one year mark & see how it’s progressing.”

– Big E

Big E feels “tremendous” and neck surgery is still “off the table.”

SEScoops wishes Big E a full and speedy recovery.

WWE Money in the Bank 2022 Predictions

WWE presents Money in the Bank this Saturday live on pay-per-view from Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

SEScoops correspondents Andrew Ravens, Jaycele Nicole and Tyriece Simon have gotten together to provide our official WWE Money in the Bank predictions.

Check back Saturday for our live coverage and post-PPV reaction video.

Plus:

Here are our WWE MITB 2022 Predictions:

United States Champion Theory vs. Bobby Lashley

Jaychele Nicole: Like I predicted at Hell In A Cell, I’m going with Theory again. The people in WWE really seem to get behind Theory and really see something in him. Bobby Lashley seems to be a pretty good matchup for him. However, as we move toward SummerSlam, it’s more and more obvious that Theory will likely be facing John Cena at the ‘Biggest Party Of The Summer.’ I can’t see a scenario where Theory loses to Lashley leading up to this huge, career-making matchup with one of WWE’s biggest stars of all time. (Prediction: Theory)

Andrew Ravens: I still think Theory will wrestle Cena at SummerSlam and although the story could be Cena going after the title, the feud doesn’t need it. In fact, if the title is on the line then it makes it even more clear that Cena won’t be beating Theory. Lashley has been pushed strong once again and a run as the US Champion will keep him away from Roman Reigns. If WWE does do the Theory vs. Cena match then they got to keep Theory somewhat strong enough to face Cena so Lashley can’t destroy him. (Prediction: Bobby Lashley)

Tyriece Simon: This match is difficult to call because I can see how either Theory or Bobby Lashley can win. The champion has been teasing a match with John Cena, and I can see WWE adding Theory vs. Cena at Summerslam. However, Lashley has received good reactions and could be a strong babyface to hold the United States Championship. WWE doesn’t have a male mid-card babyface champion right now, so Lashley could fill that void. I also don’t think you need Theory to be champion to face Cena at Summerslam if that is what WWE wants to happen. Theory will likely retain, but I’ll say Lashley becomes your new champion. (Prediction: Bobby Lashley

Consensus: Bobby Lashley

Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair vs. Carmella

Andrew Ravens: I understand why WWE put Carmella in this spot as they need someone for Belair to beat and Carmella had been out of the mix for a little while. It should be a fine match with Belair going over. (Prediction: Bianca Belair)

Jaychele Nicole: Without a doubt, I think this is Bianca Belair’s match. 100%. It’s ironic how around this time last year Bianca was in a championship match with Carmella as well, except it was for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. As this is a last minute replacement since Rhea Ripley was supposed to face Bianca for the Raw Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, I can’t see Carmella winning the belt. Carmella was also the most unlikely winner in the Raw contender’s five-way, so I can’t see her dethroning Bianca. This is mostly because of Bianca’s momentum and her current star power. (Prediction: Bianca Belair)

Tyriece Simon: I think Belair gets the clean win against Carmella. The champion was supposed to face Rhea Ripley, so I don’t see her losing the title at Money in the Bank. (Prediction: Bianca Belair)

Consensus: Bianca Belair

Undisputed Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. The Street Profits

Tyriece Simon: I have the Usos retaining the titles at Money in the Bank, but I can see the feud extending to Summerslam. The Champions still have momentum, and I don’t see the Bloodline faction losing their titles anytime soon. It should be a great match, and I’m looking carefully at how Montez Ford performs in the match. I can also see WWE possibly breaking up the Street Profits and making Ford a singles star soon. (Prediction: The Usos)

Andrew Ravens: And we’re back to this feud once again. It will be a really good match and while I can understand the argument as to why there should be a title change, I don’t think it will happen. The Usos will lose the titles shortly before Roman Reigns does and that’s not happening anytime soon. (Prediction: The Usos)

Jaychele Nicole: As much as I wish that The Street Profits were winning, this is The Usos match. I don’t see anything changing with the structure of The Bloodline. I would be interested to see the spiral of Roman and The Bloodline if The Usos were to lose the titles here. I think that the match will be good, and I believe that The Street Profits, specifically Montez Ford, are overdue for some gold. I’m hopeful that their time is coming soon, but I don’t think it’s happening at Money In The Bank, at least this year’s show anyway that is. (Prediction: The Usos)

Consensus: The Usos

Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Andrew Ravens: I’m taking Seth Rollins here. Drew McIntyre previously called out Roman Reigns for Clash at the Castle and I don’t see them making the match official in advance with McIntyre being the MITB holder. Also, WWE likes surprise cash-ins so that eliminates McIntyre in my mind. Rollins should go over. He lost three straight times to Cody Rhodes and really needs to be built up again. (Prediction: Seth Rollins)

Jaychele Nicole: I am pretty torn on this match. Right now, my top two predictions would be Seth Rollins or Drew McIntyre. I’m truly hoping for another Seth run with the briefcase because of how much I enjoyed his last reign with the belt. I think that Seth’s recent character would be able to turn his run with the briefcase into something super entertaining. At the same time, I don’t think you can ever count out Drew and his unpredictability in these big matches. I am also possibly very fearful that the WWE might just pull a fast one on all fans and give the contract to Omos. I really hope this isn’t the case, but I wouldn’t put it past the company. (Prediction: Seth Rollins)

Tyriece Simon: Seth Rollins is the best option to win this match. He’s possibly having the best run of his WWE career, and giving him the Money in the Bank briefcase would only improve his character. I also think that Rollins holding the briefcase and winning a WWE Championship could set up a perfect story for Cody Rhodes’s return feud. (Prediction: Seth Rollins)

Consensus: Seth “Freakin” Rollins

SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Natalya

Jaychele Nicole: Like Bianca, I think this is Ronda’s match as well. Natalya has been incredibly entertaining in this feud, especially knowing how close the two are behind the scenes. I’m not sure if this match will be good, but I’m sure that Nattie will do or say a few things that will get a pop out of me. (Prediction: Ronda Rousey)

Andrew Ravens: Although no one sees Natalya as a real threat to Rousey, credit to WWE for at least making this feud interesting. Rousey should go over and will do so, but it will be interesting to see who they can build up next for Rousey at SummerSlam. (Prediction: Ronda Rousey)

Tyriece Simon: I have Rousey retaining the Smackdown Women’s Championship. This seems like a short feud to have Rousey on the card and defend her title. It should be an interesting technical match. Natalya is a great opponent for Rousey to work with, and I think she’ll have a good showing. I think ultimately, Rousey gets Natalya in the armbar and moves on from this rivalry. (Prediction: Ronda Rousey)

Consensus: Ronda Rousey

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Andrew Ravens: I would like to see Raquel win here, but I don’t think it will happen. Two names make the most sense to me and that’s Asuka and Alexa Bliss. I’ll slightly side with Bliss here as she’s been strongly pushed since coming back and a few more months of build will help cap off her surprise cash-in. (Prediction: Alexa Bliss)

Tyriece Simon: This match is interesting to predict because I can see two viable winners. Becky Lynch and Lacey Evans have the best chances of winning the briefcase. Lynch’s character has been on a downward spiral since losing to Bianca Belair, and it would make sense to give her the briefcase to get her swagger back. However, I can see a scenario where she gets close but loses. WWE is trying to build up Lacey Evans, and It’s an excellent opportunity to make a new contender for the Women’s championship for either Smackdown or Raw. I can see Lynch winning the match, but I lean more toward WWE giving Evans the win. (Prediction: Lacey Evans)

Jaychele Nicole: I also have two favorites to win this match. I’ve heard a few people predict that Raquel Rodriguez will be winning, but I really hope that doesn’t happen. I’m hoping that either Liv Morgan or Alexa Bliss win this year’s Women’s Money In The Bank. I’m very hopeful that this year’s Women’s Money In The Bank winner will hold the briefcase for longer than a few hours or one day like may have previously. I’m hoping that this year is Liv Morgan’s year. She’s gaining so much momentum that I really believe it’s her time, but at the same time, I said the same thing last year. (Prediction: Liv Morgan)

Consensus: Split

Wardlow Happy in AEW, but “Never Say Never” About a Future in WWE

Wardlow says he’s “very, very happy” with AEW, but he hasn’t closed the door on working for WWE one day.

The 34-year-old fighter from Middlefield, Ohio has made quite a name for himself in AEW. After a years-long storyline as MJF’s hired gun, Wardlow is finally doing things on his own terms.

Wardlow been racking up win and after win. With a record of 14-2 this year, Wardlow now has his sights on Scorpio Sky’s TNT Championship.

Wardlow Addresses WWE

Wardlow took part in a virtual autograph signing for K&S WrestleFest and addressed the possibility of jumping to WWE one day:

“I’m very very happy where I am. I never say never about anything in life, but as of right now, I’m very happy where I am.”

– Wardlow

It would be foolish for Wardlow to say he’d never join WWE, because you never know what the future holds. However, he really does seem happy working for Tony Khan.

Last month, Wardlow appeared on the Superstar Crossover podcast and said even he can’t believe how well his AEW run is going.

“I think even this is exceeding my expectations,” he said. “I couldn’t have wrote myself a better future than what I’m currently living. Or I guess I should say I couldn’t have wrote a better reality for what I’m currently living. I wouldn’t change a single thing that has happened or a single thing that is happening right now.”

Wardlow a success story for AEW, in terms of homegrown talent. His slow-burn storyline with MJF paid off and fans have gotten behind him in a big way.

With his size, agility and charisma, it should as no surprise that WWE is already interested in Wardlow.

John Cena “Overwhelmed” With Gratitude Following WWE Return

John Cena made a triumphant return to WWE television on Monday’s edition of Raw. Cena was on hand to commemorate the 20th anniversary of his debut. As he put it on Raw, his 20th “Birthday” with WWE.

Cena has been a divisive figure throughout the majority of his WWE run. Cena has been polarizing, with some fans loving him and some fans rejecting him as the squeaky-clean, almost corny, hand-picked corporate champion.

On Raw, it was nothing but love. Cena gave an impassioned speech about how much the support from fans as meant to him. The main theme of his address is that we’re all in this together. Everything he’s accomplished has been with the support of the WWE Universe. His accomplishments are OUR accomplishments.

Cena said he haven’t seen the last of him, but he’s not sure when he’ll be back in a WWE ring. It’s been rumored that Cena will return at SummerSlam to battle Theory. The two had a brief interaction backstage:

Cena Overwhelmed with Gratitude

On Tuesday, Cena posted a message on social media expressing his gratitude. Cena says he’s “overwhelmed” by all the outreach he’s received from people recognizing his milestone.

WWE’s Cena tribute edition of Raw featured video clips of Cena’s greatest rivals touting as a leader not only in the professional sense, but also as a man and role model. We even saw cameos from AEW talent, including Chris Jericho, Bryan Danielson and Paul Wight.

Click here for details on how the “AEW stars appear on Raw” situation came about.

Okada Teases We Haven’t Seen The Last of Him in AEW

Kazuchika Okada walked through the Forbidden Door at Sunday’s historic AEWxNPJPW pay-per-view from Chicago, IL.

Okada competed in the fatal 4-way match with Jay White’s IWGP World Heavyweight championship on the line.

Switchblade emerged victorious in a match that saw an abrupt finish due to an injury sustained by Adam Cole.

AEW President Tony Khan addressed Adam Cole’s condition during the post-PPV media scrum:

“He’s gonna be okay long term, but probably if he couldn’t continue wrestling it made sense [to end the match]. I think if you can’t keep fighting there’s discretion is a better part of valor. I think long term he’ll be okay.”

Okada’s Future in AEW

Okada Forbidden Door
Kazuchika Okada at AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door

On Monday, Kazuchika Okada addressed his future with All Elite Wrestling.

The Rainmaker thanked AEW, as well as the city of Chicago. The rowdy crowd nearly lost it at the sight of Okada in an AEW ring and showered him with praise and appreciation.

Okada wrote, “The door is closed. But I’ll open the door again. See you next time.”

It remains to be seen when we’ll see the likes of Okada, Tanahashi and White back in AEW. However, all indications are that Forbidden Door was a huge success We already know the event grossed over $1 million in ticket sales and sold over 100,000 PPV buys.

With so many of AEW’s top stars unable to compete at Forbidden Door, it’s just a matter of time before we Okada and more cross paths with the likes of Kenny Omega, CM Punk and Bryan Danielson.

Ric Flair’s Last Match Moved to a Much Larger Venue

Ric Flair is still a draw, brother.

The Nature Boy is scheduled to wrestle his final match on Sunday July 31st during Starrcast weekend. After selling out the Nashville Fairgrounds in less than 24-hours, event organizers (Jim Crocket Promotions) made the call to move the spectacle to a significantly larger venue.

“Ric Flair’s Last Match” will now take place at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium, which can accommodate over 7,000 fans.

According to a press release sent in to SEScoops current ticket holder’s seats will be honored, and communication on the changes will be emailed to them this week.

The Latest on Sasha Banks Getting Released From WWE

We have an update on Sasha Banks’ status as a WWE superstar.

Earlier this week, WrestlingINC founder Raj Giri broke the news that Banks had been released. It was unclear at the time if she had requested to be let go, or if it was a WWE call, but it was a bombshell report that rocked the wrestling community.

Since then, more details have emerged and several verified WWE insiders have confirmed the news is true.

On Friday, Wrestlevotes tweeted that the word going around backstage at SmackDown is that Raj Giri’s scoop is accurate.

Reddit user /u/Kermit125, who has verified his/her backstage credentials with the mods at /r/SquaredCircle, has also confirmed the news.

In recent days, it’s been reported that Sasha Banks’ lawyers have working on her release, we can independently confirm this is the case.

Sasha Banks’ Road to Free Agency

Sasha had been in the midst of a suspension after she and Naomi walked out of the May 16 episode of Monday Night Raw. The two had been the reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

It was reported that the two had creative differences with the company over the direction of the women’s tag team division. There was a six-pack challenge involving both Sasha and Naomi set for that edition of Raw.

Naomi was reportedly going to win that match and move on to challenge Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship at Hell in a Cell. Sasha would’ve challenged Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Title.

It was also reported that during their suspensions, Sasha and Naomi weren’t being paid. They also had all of their merchandise online removed.

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles have been vacated and a tournament was announced. WWE still hasn’t given any more info on the tourney and it is reportedly “dead in the water.”

We’ll keep you posted once more details surface.

Alexa Bliss Recently Had Surgery To Fix “Collapsed” Nose

Alexa Bliss reveals she underwent plastic surgery during her time away from WWE. According to the new Mrs. Cabrera, her nose “finally collapsed” as a result of injuries she sustained during her wrestling career.

Following February’s Elimination Chamber event, Bliss took a 4-month hiatus from WWE programming. She returned to WWE Raw on May 9th.

During an appearance on Wichita’s T95 The Rock Station earlier this week, Bliss spoke about her much-needed break from WWE’s hectic road schedule.

Aside from planning her wedding, which took place in Palm Desert, California back in April, she also got her nose “handled.”

“I had surgery, I had to get my nose all handled because, after six broken noses, it finally collapsed.”

Alexa Bliss’ Time Away from WWE

She continued, “Then, I took that time, as well as that, to plan my wedding and get married and go on my honeymoon. So it was definitely much needed.”

Bliss said it was great to actually have time to focus on herself for a few months. She is one of WWE’s most popular performers, but that life comes at a cost. She’s been with WWE for nine years and is on the road nearly 200 days per year.

“So, we don’t get a lot of time to plan stuff. So, it was nice to have that time for once and kind of take advantage of that.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Bliss spoke about her new WWE theme music. She’s excited because this version of her theme song is the first time she got to have input on the music and the lyrics.

Rush Isn’t Signed With AEW Yet, But Wants to Work With the Best

As it turns out, Rush is not All Elite, after all.

The world-renowned luchador made a surprise appearance at last month’s AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view. During a backstage segment, Andrade El Idolo announced he was dissolving the AFO faction. He then introduced Rush as his new business associate.

The former Los Ingobernables partners could raise hell in AEW, but Rush reveals he’s not under contract with the promotion.

In a new interview with Lucha Libre Online, Rush says he’s working limited dates for AEW and is negotiating with Tony Khan about signing a contract.

Rush’s Status with AEW

“I am grateful to Tony Khan for giving me the opportunity,” said Rush. We are still under talks and negotiations. For now, there are just dates.”

– Rush isn’t signed with AEW just yet

“I already did the first jump, which is being in the PPV, and not just a segment, but they gave it the value that both Rush and Andrade have. They left that promo for the end. Nobody expected it, not even my own family.”

RUSH debuts at AEW Double or Nothing 2022

After holding the ROH World Championship twice, Rush now has his focus locked on All Elite Wrestling. He sees dream matches with AEW’s top stars and isn’t shy about name-dropping who he wants to work with.

“For now, my objective is AEW, I am now in AEW and I want to face the biggest names. I want everything! I am not going for the minimum. You name it! CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Moxley, Samoa Joe, the best they have.”

He continued, “Imagine Rush vs Samoa Joe. There’s a lot of material. Bryan Danielson vs Toro Blanco Rush, two ex ROH World Champions against each other. There’s Moxley, which they state is the most extreme one. They need to see a real Mexican badass. A lot of people have requested this match… Rush vs. Kenny Omega. We can finally have that match.”

Details on WWE’s Involvement in Vice TV’s New Wrestling Project

We have some new information about Vice TV’s new wrestling series.

Dark Side of the Ring is on hold after three controversial seasons. Despite its popularity, the show was considered toxic due to the negative attention it generated, as well as questionable editing that had participants such as Jim Ross swearing off future involvement.

During the planning stages of a fourth season of Dark Side, several legends who were contacted passed on doing on-camera work. Understandably, the explosive Plane Ride From Hell episode is seen as a turning point for the show.

Vice understands the need to go in a different direction. Dark Side creators Evan Husney and Jason Eisener are involved with the new project, which will have a much softer, “sanitized” tone.

According to a source involved with production, the format of the new show has been described as “campfire talks” about the old days of wrestling.

We’ve heard the network is discussing a mid-September premiere.

WWE Involvement

Unlike Dark Side of the Ring, WWE will be heavily involved with the new series. Vice will have access to the company’s vast archives, as well as WWE-contracted talent.

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin recently participated in filming that’s underway in Los Angeles. Additional WWE legends are scheduled to film in the weeks ahead.

WWE has a lucrative relationship with A&E, a company that has an ownership stake in Vice. Expect to see a show that resembles WWE’s “softball” programming on A&E, instead of the exposé format of Dark Side that explored some of wrestling’s most disturbing urban legends.

Damien Priest Eyeing NXT Star to Join Judgment Day

WWE’s Judgment Day faction underwent a significant shakeup this week. At the conclusion of Monday’s Raw, we saw Finn Balor align himself with Edge, Damien Priest and Rhea Ripley. Balor is a strong addition, but they would not remain a foursome for long.

Within moments, Balor, Priest and Ripley turned on Edge and kicked him out of the group he founded. It was a swerve that fans, nor Edge, saw coming.

Damien Priest spoke with TV Insider this week about the rise of Judgment Day, how he’s changed since joining and an NXT star he could see joining their ranks.

Coming into His Own

Damien Priest has enjoyed success in WWE, including in NXT and on the main roster. However, he feels that he’s now doing his best work and can truly realize his potential.

“The best stories are when they come from reality,” said Priest. “I was frustrated. I was doing what I was asked to do. I was this overly babyface good guy coming out smiling, happy, saying all the right things. It just didn’t click. I was doing everything everyone wanted me to do.”

Fans would cheer him whenever he was helping out WWE’s top babyface wrestlers, but that wasn’t satisfying him. Judgment Day has given him the opportunity to embrace his darker side and express himself creatively.

“I’m more comfortable now than I’ve been since joining the Raw roster.”

– Damien Priest on his role in Judgment Day

Priest was the first Superstar to embrace Edge’s dark vision. Rhea Ripley and Finn Balor would soon follow. Edge no longer fit the group’s direction, but Priest sees one NXT star in particular who would.

“If I had to pick anyone from NXT, the first person I would pick is Santos [Escobar]. I’ve always been a fan of his stuff. Just carries himself so well. Great in the ring, well-spoken. When you look at him, the guy doesn’t look like a random person. He looks like a star.”

Santos Escobar is a second-generation luchador and a former NXT Cruiserweight champion. He currently leads the Legado Del Fantasma faction. Prior to joining WWE he competed as King Cuerno in Lucha Underground.

WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 Predictions

It’s time for our WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 predictions. WWE’s latest premium live event takes place this Sunday, June 5th live from the Allstate Arena just outside Chicago, Illinois.

Jaychele Nicole, Andrew Ravens and Tyriece Simon ran down the card and gave their picks for who they think will win each match on the card.

Steve Fall and Stephanie Hypes also got together and shared their predictions in this video the SEScoops YouTube channel:

Here are our WWE HIAC 2022 Predictions:

Theory vs. Mustafa Ali

Theory vs. Mustafa Ali
Theory vs. Mustafa Ali

Tyriece Simon: This match has the potential to be a match of the night candidate. Both wrestlers are talented and, if given time, could have a great match. I don’t think Ali will get the win because Theory is still new as United States Champion. I predict Ali will come close to winning, but Theory cheats to retain the title. (Prediction: Theory)

Jaychele Nicole: Right now, this looks like one of the best matches on the card. I’m excited to see Ali on a pay-per-view, especially since he’s competing in a title match. However, Theory is getting a really big and long push. I don’t think that push stops here. As Ali’s star power grows, I could see him eventually becoming the United States Champion, but not at this time. (Prediction: Theory)

Andrew Ravens: This should be one of the best matches of the night as both stars can go in the ring. I know Theory has been pushed strongly over the last few months, but I’m not ruling out Ali walking out with the title as they’ve been behind him since returning. I have Theory going over and that’s the right call because he’s a bigger star than Ali at this time. (Prediction: Theory)

Consensus: Theory retains the US Championship

Judgement Day vs. Finn Bálor, A.J. Styles & Liv Morgan

Judgement Day vs. Finn Bálor, A.J. Styles & Liv Morgan
Judgement Day vs. Finn Bálor, A.J. Styles & Liv Morgan

Tyriece Simon: This will be an interesting match to see how they will use Morgan and Ripley in the match. I believe they should have moments to shine because everyone else is established in WWE. I think we will get some excellent tag team moves involving both Morgan and Ripley. I have the team of The Judgement Day winning because I think we will get a new member of the faction to cost the group of Balor, Styles, and Morgan. (Prediction: Judgement Day)

Jaychele Nicole: I’m excited to see this match because I love mixed tag team matches. I’m excited to see the use of Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley. The other talent in the match are much more established than the women. This could be a huge moment for Liv Morgan. For a while, she struggled to even get on pay-per-views. I believe that Finn, AJ, and Liv will get the win here, but will lose in their next bout. (Prediction: Finn Balor, AJ Styles & Liv Morgan)

Andrew Ravens: A fun match on paper that should deliver. This is a placeholder type of match for the event that can be described just like it. WWE shouldn’t beat Judgment Day here or anytime soon. They’re the top fact on the show and should remain booked as strong as possible. (Prediction: Judgment Day)

Consensus: Judgement Day

Bobby Lashley vs. MVP and Omos

Bobby Lashley vs. MVP and Omos
Bobby Lashley vs. MVP and Omos

Tyriece Simon: I think this may be the least exciting match on the card, but it still has the potential to be a solid match. I’m assuming this will end the feud between Lashley and Omos with MVP. I have Lashley defeating Omos and MVP due to miscommunication between the new team. MVP may hit Omos with an illegal object, and Lashley hits a spear on MVP to win. (Prediction: Lashley)

Jaychele Nicole: Honestly, I’m very tired of this feud. It’s extremely boring and played out at this point. I wish it would’ve ended after the Cage Match that they had. In order for the feud to end, I feel like the heels have to get a win. I’m guessing that the goal of this feud was to elevate Omos and this would be the only way to do it since he’s lost so much already. (Prediction: Omos & MVP)

Andrew Ravens: I think this is a clear example of WWE liking to repeat matches so often. Omos and MVP should go over since they have the advantage in storyline, which will lead to another handicap match with some type of a stipulation to go along with it. (Prediction: Omos and MVP)

Consensus: Omos & MVP

Kevin Owens vs. Ezekiel

Kevin Owens vs. Ezekiel
Kevin Owens vs. Ezekiel

Tyriece Simon: Does Ezekiel get the win over Owens? This match is hard to call. I can see Ezekiel defeating Owens to finish their program. The crowd is behind Ezekiel, and he is a new babyface that WWE should build up. Although, I can see Owens defeating Ezekiel to move on to another feud, maybe Rhodes, potentially.  I’ll go with Ezekiel because I think it won’t hurt Owens, and he could get a win back later. (Prediction: Ezekiel)

Jaychele Nicole: The only way I can really see Ezekiel winning is if they decide to make a star out of him here. Kevin Owens doesn’t have the best win record recently. Owens needs a pretty strong win, and this pay-per-view match would be a good spot for it. Owens is bigger than this feud which makes me think he’ll get the win. (Prediction: Kevin Owens)

Andrew Ravens: There’s no reason why Owens shouldn’t win here. Ezekiel is a comedy character and the fact that Owens is in this feud is just not right as he should be used better even though he’s been great with what he’s had to do. (Prediction: Kevin Owens)

Consensus: Kevin Owens

Bianca Belair vs. Asuka vs. Becky Lynch

Bianca Belair vs. Asuka vs. Becky Lynch
Bianca Belair vs. Asuka vs. Becky Lynch

Tyriece Simon:  The build to this match has been underwhelming to me. I think the match would be better if it were a singles match between Asuka and Lynch because that feud has been in primary focus. It’s understood that Belair should defend her title, but I’d like it if she had her rivalry. With that said, I think Belair retains her title. There isn’t a need to take the title off of her, and I believe this is to have her defend the title on the card. It should be an entertaining match. (Prediction: Bianca Belair)

Jaychele Nicole: I’m really excited for this match and it is definitely my favorite on the card. All three women are extremely talented. I believe that Bianca is in for a lengthy reign and that this isn’t the time for her to lose her championship. With this match, they can still continue the feud between Asuka and Becky Lynch. This would allow for one of them to take the pin while still remaining strong. (Prediction: Bianca Belair)

Andrew Ravens: An interesting match that is the second biggest on the card in terms of star power. I find it hard to believe that Belair would drop the title here, but unless they want her to chase it again, it would be the place to do that should they not want her to take the pinfall or submission loss. I don’t see that here and have Lynch eating the loss with the program with Asuka continuing. (Prediction: Bianca Belair)

Consensus: Bianca Belair

Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins (Hell in a Cell)

Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins (Hell in a Cell)
Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins (Hell in a Cell)

Andrew Ravens: Just like their previous two matches, Rhodes must win here. Especially at this point as he has already beaten Rollins twice. While Rollins did get some heat back, in my opinion, it’s never a great idea to beat someone three times in a row on PPV. (Prediction: Cody Rhodes)

Jaychele Nicole: I’m really excited for their match. Every time that these two have faced each other, they have produced an amazing match. This will be the same. Cody cannot take a loss this early into his return. I don’t know if it’s the best that Seth is losing so much recently, but the matches are always stellar. (Prediction: Cody Rhodes)

Tyriece Simon: This is the match I am looking forward to the most on this card. I have enjoyed this feud between Rhodes and Rollins. It will be interesting to see how much WWE will allow them to do in the match. AEW fans know that Rhodes likes to take risks and be extreme in matches that will enable it. I expect both wrestlers to climb the top of the cell. This match will be the main event, and it’s well deserved. I have Rhodes getting the win and ending the rivalry with Rollins. (Prediction: Cody Rhodes)

Consensus: Cody Rhodes
