ROH Moves November Texas Shows To June 2020

Ring of Honor wrestling has announced that they are postponing all shows scheduled for Dallas and San Antonio as part of their Texas tour. The events have been moved to June 2020.

The meet and greet events that were set to take place during the tour will take place as scheduled however, only now they will be free for fans who purchased the tickets for the live even shows.

The tour featured two live events that were scheduled to take place in Dallas on November 9, and in San Antonio on November 10. The dates have now been moved to June 5 and 6, respectively.

The company’s officials cite “operational conflict” as the main reason behind the postponement of the event. The company says they will provide full refunds to everyone who purchased a ticket for the show.

“We are in debt to the fans of Dallas and San Antonio,” ROH General Manager Greg Gilleland said. “We take pride in the passion and commitment of our fans and in return always strive to deliver them the best experience in every way that we can. We are currently working on some big plans for 2020 that involve a tremendous effort by everyone in the company and we vow to return to Texas in a big way.”

  • Bully Ray And Mark Henry Discuss If Ricochet Could Work A Program With Randy Orton

Bully Ray And Mark Henry Discuss If Ricochet Could Work A Program With Randy Orton

Randy Orton is set to appear at Crown Jewel in the 10-man tag team match where he will be part of Team Flair against Team Hogan.

Meanwhile on this Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, Orton delivered a RKO to Ricochet, who is going to be against Ortons team. Bully Ray and Mark Henry discussed this topic on SiriusXM’s Busted Open radio and gave their opinions on whether both the Superstars could do a program together.

Bully Ray wondered and asked Mark Henry if Ricochet could be right guy to work with Orton. Bully believes that finding the right guy to compliment Orton is difficult.

“I’ve been saying it for a long time, when it comes to Randy Orton, the problem is not Randy Orton. It’s finding the right guy to compliment Randy Orton. Do you think Ricochet could be that guy to have a good program with Randy?”

Henry answered that he sees Ricochet and Orton having a successful program together. Henry believes that Orton could bring Ricochet out of his shell as Randy Orton can be a devastating man with his words and he doesn’t care.

“I do. I think that it’ll have legs, I loved him and AJ Styles, but I think that this would be even more,” Henry answered. “Randy would bring Ricochet out of his shell. He’s going to have to, because if you’re in the ring Randy is going to talk about your mama, man, Randy don’t care. He will talk about your wife and kids, he’ll talk about ‘Oh, I saw you out there with that girl, was that your girlfriend or was that one of your side pieces?,’ Randy don’t care, he’ll bring it out of you.”

“For those of you don’t understand, when you say Randy Orton doesn’t care – you know the real Randy Orton, and I know the real Randy Orton – Randy truly does not care. Like, he will say and do just about anything. Randy don’t give a f–k,” Bully said.

Henry agreed and advised Ricochet to not piss Orton off. Henry also added that it could be a test for Ricochet to show his compatibility skills while wrestling Orton.

“And Ricochet, hey, people are not gonna blame Randy Orton if this s–t doesn’t go right. They’re gonna blame you. Because ‘You couldn’t work with Randy?’ ‘You couldn’t elevate yourself with Randy Orton?’ ‘I don’t know if you can after that.’”

Finally, Henry gave his opinion on Ricochet saying that he hasn’t been tested well before and working with Orton will be his ultimate test. Orton will try to gauge Ricochet and see what he has to offer.

“I think Ricochet is confused about what leadership is because he’s young,” Henry said. “He hasn’t had a dancing partner where the dancing partner says ‘Hey man, you call it, I want to see what you got,’ and Randy is going to do that. Randy is going to try him, Randy’s going to see, like, are you just a one-trick pony.”

NBC Sports Twitter For Chicago Cubs Says They Like AEW Over WWE In Response To Raw Segment

On this week’s WWE Raw, The Viking Raiders had a squash match against indie wrestlers Mike Sydal and Kyle Roberts who were dressed in The Chicago Cubs uniform, and were even billed as the baseball team’s name.

Raw took place in St. Louis that night, which is the home of the Cardinals, and WWE wanted to play off of the two teams’ bitter rivalry in front of the St. Louis crowd.

The duo of “Rizzo” and “Bryant” of “The Chicago Cubs” didn’t last long in front of the Viking Raiders at all – as is the case with enhancement talent – the match was over in a couple of minutes. The WWE Raw Tag Team Champions didn’t give the Cubs a single chance to attack them.

While the audience in attendance was dead for the most part of the match, WWE’s shot against the Cubs did gain attention elsewhere. The segment caught the attention of the official NBC Sports account for the Chicago White Sox, who enjoyed seeing the Cubs get a beatdown. So of course, the Cubs’ NBC Sports account responded, and said in the now-viral response that they like All Elite Wrestling over WWE anyway.

This got the attention of none other than executive vice president of AEW, Cody Rhodes, and chief brand officer Brandi Rhodes.

Tyson Fury, who is ready to make his WWE debut by facing Braun Strowman in a match at the upcoming Crown Jewel pay-per-view event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Fury discussed how the WWE opportunity came about and how the training for WWE has been in a recent interview.

Fury said that he received a phone call asking if he would like to be work with the WWE, and he agreed to it quickly.

“Very quickly. I got the phone call to say would you like to be involved in a WWE fight, I said yes,” Tyson told Express Sport.

“It was a Wednesday night at 7pm and I was on a plane the next day to LA at 6am in the morning. [My first thought was] do it. I have always wanted to be involved and always wanted to be a fan of it.”

Tyson’s son is a huge fan of WWE so it was a “no brainer” for him to agree to work with the professional wrestling company.

When it comes to training for his WWE debut, Tyson described it as a “lot more demanding”. Tyson reveals that it’s has a more hands-on approach, and is taxing to the body.

After seeing how it’s done, Tyson says he understands how wrestlers are prone to more injury.

“There is a lot more smashes and crashes to the floor. That’s tough and I can see how they can get injured a lot all the time. The surprising thing is the ring is just the same as a boxing ring. People think ‘Oh it’s a padded ring or whatever but it’s really not.”

“It’s definitely tough in there. The ropes are really tight and they really do a lot of damage to you when you get chucked into them.”

Tyson was also asked if he would make an appearance at WrestleMania 36 which is set to take place in Tampa, Florida.

Tyson answered that he might make a surprise appearance at the grand event if he is free from his work in boxing.

  • Billy Corgan Says He’s Blown Away By Fans’ Feedback To NWA Powerrr

Billy Corgan Says He’s Blown Away By Fans’ Feedback To NWA Powerrr

National Wrestling Alliance’s President Billy Corgan recently discussed the company’s new wrestling show NWA Powerrr, and revealed that he was overwhelmed by the unexpected support from fans for the show.

Speaking to PWInsider, Corgan said that the show is doing “20 times further along” than what the company expected. Corgan attributed this success to the new alternative wrestling scene.

“We’ve just been blown away,” Corgan said. “We certainly thought we would do fine, but the numbers and the feedback from the fans has just been overwhelming. I mean, we’re 20 times further along than we thought we’d be at this point. So, it showed that the last couple of years investing and working with different companies and building relationships in the business have really paid of. Word of mouth got around, and certainly, to AW’s credit and of course many others, New Japan. What’s called this alternate universe, this non-WWE universe professional wrestling is kind of kicking into another gear. We’re able to ride that wave at the same time as well.”

Corgan also talked about the creative freedom that the company gives their talent. Corgan revealed that NWA gives full freedom to the wrestlers, they just tell them what they’re trying to accomplish, then set the wrestlers free to do whatever they can do to get the story across.

“Sure. Okay. So, let’s just pretend we’re talking about an imaginary wrestler. I would pull that wrestler aside, and say ‘Here’s what we’re trying to accomplish. Here’s where we’re going. Here’s the in and here’s the out. You’re on your own.’ And literally, we’re not even giving people time to use … We’re letting them run free. Absolutely. The only sort of stopgap measure is, we tell Galli or Marquez, ‘If you think it’s going long, you pull the plug on the fly.’ But that’s it. So, if an Eli Drake or an Aaron Stevens or a Nick Aldis is on fire, they can run as long as they want to go. There’s limits on our talent. Literally, the only thing we’ve said is let’s try not to curse, because we don’t think that’s necessary for what we’re trying to get across. But beyond that, talent has literal freedom as long as they’re within the lanes of the angle.”

NWA Powerrr debuted its first episode on October 8 on the company’s official YouTube and Facebook. The company said they wanted the show to be freely available for everyone to watch around the world without any restrictions or paywalls. The show airs every Tuesday on the company’s online platforms.

Becky Lynch Believes Sonya Deville Can Have A Breakthrough In Career Similar To Hers

WWE Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch believes another female wrestler on the WWE roster could have a rise in her career similar to her. While speaking to WWE’s The Bump, Lynch revealed she sees potential in Sonya Deville who could be the next star to revive and propel her career to new heights.

While on the show, Becky was asked who she thinks can have a breakthrough moment in their career just like hers, and achieve similar feats like being the first woman on the cover of a video game, main event WrestleMania, etc.

Lynch said that anyone who makes a connection with the crowd will be able to achieve success as the people are the ones who can make it possible.

“Yeah, look I don’t think anybody would’ve expected it to be me and I think that’s the great thing but anybody who can get a connection with the crowd because it’s all about the crowd,” Lynch said.

“It’s the people that put you there, the people that put me there. And if they get that then I see some people that can do that. I think Sonya Deville is one to look out for.”

Sonya Deville teams up with Mandy Rose on SmackDown and they were not drafted in this year’s WWE Draft and were free agents. The company then announced that both Deville and Rose have been signed to SmackDown as part of their free agent signings.

Matt Hardy On Why He Returned To WWE, When He’ll Be Back In Action

Matt Hardy returned to the WWE at WrestleMania 33 on April 2, 2017, where he was added as a last-minute participant along with his brother Jeff Hardy for the Raw Tag Team Championship against the teams of Gallows and Anderson, Cesaro and Sheamus, and Enzo and Cass.

Since then, Matt has had a decent run in WWE with his Woken Matt Hardy gimmick.

Matt, however, has not been since June where he appeared at Super ShowDown to compete in the 51-man Battle Royal.

Fans have been wondering what he’s up to and what his current WWE status is. A fan recently a fan on Twitter asked Matt if he ever regrets coming back to the company now that he isn’t being used.

Matt replied that he had to return to WWE to complete his redemption story and that the company made him. Matt added that he will always be grateful to WWE.

“No. I had to return to @WWE to complete my redemption story. WWE made me, I’ll always be grateful to them. Disliked how I left in 2010 & felt I owed #WWE a debt. Came back & repaid it. The WWE employees have treated me great,” Hardy wrote.

He was also asked when fans can expect him to see on their TV screens. Matt assured them that he’ll be back within the next five months one way or another and will be competing in the ring for a while.

Looks like Matt’s trying to make an in-ring return possible and it would be interesting to see how it turns out as it could possibly be his last run, at least as an active wrestler, in the WWE.

Balor was last seen in the ring at SummerSlam where he was defeated by The Fiend on the PPV event.

After his loss, Balor was not seen on WWE programming for a long time until the October 2 episode of NXT where he made his return to television much to fans’ surprise.

Finn came out after Adam Cole had successfully defended his NXT Championship against Matt Riddle in the opening match of the night. He stared down Cole and exchanged words off-mic.

Meanwhile, on the October 16 episode, a vignette featuring the former Universal Champion aired on the show where Finn Balor talked about his past and the upcoming future. He also sent a message to the entire NXT roster warning them about his return.

“When your life comes to a crossroads, the only way to find a path to take is to revisit the ones you’ve walked before. How did you get here? Did your footsteps leave the world in a better place? Or did your missteps leave the world covered in darkness, egos, mistakes, errors? Re-trace your steps to find your heart. I have. Next week, my future will be my past.”

WWE had officially moved Finn Balor from the SmackDown roster to NXT. The popular superstar returned to his former brand last week and faced off with Adam Cole.

“In 2019, (Balor) returned to WWE NXT on the first-ever two-hour live episode on USA,” Balor’s bio now reads on WWE.com.

It would be interesting to see who Balor would get involved in after his return to NXT. Adam Cole is the NXT Champion and judging by Balor’s last appearance on the show, he could be going straight for the title.

Alicia Fox Moved To Alumni Section On WWE’s Website

Alicia Fox hasn’t been seen on WWE programming lately and wasn’t even in the WWE Draft. She was still listed as an active Superstar on WWE’s website, however, but it looks like she’s apparently done with the company as her profile has been moved to the Alumni section.

  • NJPW To Release New App Titled “NJPW Collection”

NJPW To Release New App Titled “NJPW Collection”

New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced that they are releasing a new app soon, titled NJPW Collection.

The app will feature card collecting, along with NJPW news and stories.

The company has said that a user can “collect gorgeous cards depicting wrestlers and moments from New Japan’s past and present.”

Each wrestler will have multiple cards, which are probably ranked in a silver, gold tier, etc.

Apart from the card collecting aspect, the app will work as a news and content hub for the Japanese wrestling promotion, which will show content directly from the official NJPW site and its social media.

Users of the app will be able to earn in-app special bonuses from venues while attending a NJPW event in person. One can collect coins for gacha games in the app to obtain new cards. Gacha is similar to a loot box in video games, where players can “pull” or “spin” the gacha to obtain cards or other items in exchange for in-game currency, which are usually bought from real money. The Google Play Store says that the app does contain in-app purchases, which means one can probably buy coins or gems with real money to spin the gacha to win a card.

The app is available for pre registration on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Pre-registration for the app has begun, which you can do so by clicking this link.

  • Britt Baker Doesn’t Want To Be Known As Just The First Woman Signed By AEW, Hopes To Be Women’s Champion

Britt Baker Doesn’t Want To Be Known As Just The First Woman Signed By AEW, Hopes To Be Women’s Champion

Britt Baker was the first woman to be signed to All Elite Wrestling and became one of the top names in the division. Baker says she wants to be remembered more than just being the first woman to be signed to the company, and she’ll achieve that by capturing the AEW Women’s Championship.

Baker will be challenging All Elite Wrestling Women’s Champion Riho for the title this Wednesday, October 16 at AEW Dynamite.

Baker believes that now that the Women’s Championship has been established in AEW, one has to capture it to be considered the best.

“I always like to keep the mentality that the next big thing is steps ahead of you, because if not it’s really easy to get discouraged and stay down on yourself. But I definitely did not see [2019] being quite so explosive in my world, per se,” Baker told Sportskeeda in a recent interview. “I was the first woman signed to AEW so I was catapulted right away to the top just for that basic fact… But now there’s a Women’s Championship introduced, so now to be the best you have to be the champion. So I don’t want to just be the first woman signed anymore, I want to be the World Champion and that’s exactly what I’m gonna do.”

Baker is relatively new to wrestling and only made her debut back in August 2015. Baker was studying to become a healthcare professional.

Baker has studied behavioral medicine with a minor in human development and family studies at Pennsylvania State University. She graduated from Penn State in 2014 but decided to pursue a degree in dental medicine, enrolling in the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Dental Medicine. She is currently employed at a private practice in Winter Park, Florida.

Jordynne Grace Wants To Be Impact Tag Team Champion With Tessa Blanchard

Impact wrestler Jordynne Grace says that she wants to tag with Tessa Blanchard and challenge for the tag team championships.

Jordynne recently spoke to Fightful where she talked about a number of topics and gave her thoughts on women in Impact Wrestling.

Grace thinks that women in Impact are getting more opportunities now and that the promotion is slowly building up their women’s division. Grace thinks the main event intergender match at Slammiversary between Sami Callihan and Tessa Blanchard shows that women and men are on the same level in the company.

Jordynne said, “At Slammiversary, they had the main event was an intergender match. So I think they’re definitely starting to build the women just as much as the men at this point. We’re side by side. It’s not like the women’s division is under the men’s division at all. They’re given equal opportunity and they’re putting eyes on both products. I think they have a really distinct vision of what they’re gonna do just by hearing what they say in the talent meetings and hearing what they say to me personally. I’m super excited in the direction everything is going. I think people, maybe they’re not going to be surprised, but they’re going to be really happy with what’s coming up.”

Jordynne says she wants to challenge for the Impact World Tag Team Championship with Tessa Blanchard as her partner. She believes her team and current champions The North (Ethan Page and Josh Alexander) will put on an incredible match.

“So, me and Tessa [Blanchard], we really, really want to tag team and we wanna challenge for the tag team titles. And I think Ethan Page and Josh Alexander, I think it would just be an incredible match. I think it would blow it out of the park. And I think that’d be awesome to see. I don’t know if they’ve ever had an intergender tag championship match like that, but I think it’d be really cool.”

Grace made her debut for Impact Wrestling on November 8, 2018. Before that though, she made a name for herself in the indie scene where she became a regular of Beyond Wrestling, Women’s Wrestling Revolution, SHINE, NOVA Pro, Pro Wrestling Magic, Black Label Pro Wrestling, and several other promotions.

  • Chris Jericho Bringing The Painmaker To AEW Dynamite This Week

Chris Jericho Bringing The Painmaker To AEW Dynamite This Week

The All Elite Wrestling World Champion Chris Jericho has announced that he’s bringing his alter ego The Painmaker to the company’s weekly show Dynamite this Wednesday.

Jericho is set to defend his title against challenger Darbie Allen on Dynamite this week. He warned Allen on Instagram that he’s going to bring back The Painmaker for him. “So beware […] hell is coming for you,” wrote Jericho.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/B3m8bNpDjq6/?utm_source=ig_embed

When Jericho started working in NJPW, he debuted a new persona when he faced Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. In this character, Jericho paints his face and shows a more violent side.

Chris Jericho debuted the Painmaker persona first when he got in a feud with Tetsuya Naito after Wrestle Kingdom 12. The character’s attire involved wearing face paint, a hat, a scarf, a jacket, and leather pants.
At Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall, in June 2018, Jericho defeated Naito to win the IWGP Championship. This side of Jericho was shown to being more violent and would often attack his opponents backstage or after they’re down. Seeing this side of Jericho in AEW will be interesting as the character was well received in NJPW. The addition of Painmaker would only enhance Jericho’s presence on the show.

Last week, Darby Allin defeated Jimmy Havoc in a #1 contender’s match. The show concluded with a wild brawl that saw Darby Allin roll to ringside on a skateboard and attack Le Champion.

This will also be Jericho’s first title defense as the AEW World Champion.

The Japanese promotion announced the news via Twitter:

Typhoon Hagibis caused a lot of damage to the Nagano area where the event was supposed to take place in the Nagano Sports Park Gymnasium. The company had no choice but to cancel the event. NJPW said ticket refunds are currently being finalized.

Every year, the Road to Power Struggle sees the Super Junior Tag League take place, as teams compete in a final at the Power Struggle pay-per-view on November 3 in Osaka.

Typhoon Hagibis was an extremely violent and large tropical cyclone that caused widespread destruction in Japan, starting from October 6 up until October 13.

Japan Rail, Japan Airlines, and All Nippon Airways had all announced suspended services during the typhoon.

NJPW had announced that the King of Pro Wrestling event will take place despite the storm.

They did have to cancel a Juice Robinson autograph session that was supposed to take place in Suidobashi in the NJPW Tokon shop on Saturday, October 12. The autograph session has since been rescheduled to October 19.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling had announced that the IWGP US Heavyweight Championship had been declared vacant, due to Jon Moxley’s inability to travel to Japan to defend the Championship at King of Pro Wrestling as a result of Typhoon Hagibis. Juice Robinson and Lance Archer competed for the vacant title at the event.

Seth Rollins Burns Down Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House

In the closing moments of WWE Raw this week, Seth Rollins invaded Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse and set it on fire.

The WWE Universal Champion didn’t appear on Raw last week, but he did state that he’ll find Wyatt wherever he may be.

At the Fun House, Rambling Rabbit warned Wyatt that Seth is on his way. Wyatt replied that there is nothing to worry about and tells it that “he” keeps us safe here.

Seth then ran in out of nowhere and cheap shotted Bray from behind and then started destroying the Fun House. Wyatt asked Seth why he’s destroying the House and begged him to stop. Seth punched out Bray and continued destroying the Fun House.

While the various Fun House friends looked on in terror and as flashes of Wyatt’s alter-ego appeared onscreen, Rollins continued the damage.

He pulled out a match and set a table on fire, then flipped it over so the fires reach the back wall of the Fun House which set the pictures of The Fiend’s victims ablaze too.

WWE announced a rematch between the two for the WWE Universal Championship at Crown Jewel. The match will be a Falls Count Anywhere match.

Wyatt vs. Rollins ended in a match stoppage at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event earlier this month.

WWE presents the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event on Thursday, October 31, 2019, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Fahd International Stadium that will air on the WWE Network.

Wrestlers Unable To Attend NJPW King Of Pro Wrestling Due To Typhoon Hagibis, Card Changed

As reported earlier, New Japan Pro-Wrestling had announced that the IWGP US Heavyweight Championship has been declared vacant, due to Jon Moxley’s inability to travel to Japan to defend the Championship as a result of Typhoon Hagibis.

Jon Moxley was originally scheduled to defend the IWGP US Heavyweight Championship today against Juice Robinson at NJPW’s King of Pro-Wrestling 2019 event. Juice Robinson will now compete against Lance Archer for the vacant IWGP US Heavyweight Championship. The match will have a sixty-minute time limit.

Despite the damage caused by the storm, the company had announced that the event will take place as scheduled.

However, apart from Moxley, one more wrestler was unable to make it to Japan and therefore the company had to change the card for King of Pro Wrestling.

NJPW has announced that Zack Sabre Junior is also unable to appear at the event, due to travel issues arising from Typhoon Hagibis.

Japan Rail, Japan Airlines, and All Nippon Airways had all announced suspended services during the typhoon.

Here are the changes to the card:

Shingo Takagi & Tetsuya Naito vs Taichi & DOUKI

  • Beth And Reby Hardy Get In Twitter Spat Following Jeff’s Arrest

Beth And Reby Hardy Get In Twitter Spat Following Jeff’s Arrest

Following Jeff Hardy’s recent DWI arrest, it looks like things are getting a little bit heated between the Hardy brothers’ wives. Matt Hardy’s wife Reby, and Jeff Hardy’s wife Beth engaged in a war of words on Twitter over Jeff’s arrest.

On October 3, 2019, Hardy was arrested and charged with driving while impaired in Moore County, North Carolina.

Jeff’s brother Matt issued the following statement on social media about the situation:

“Since so many have asked me about my brother tonight-I love my brother & want him to be happy & healthy. I’ve expressed that to him as much as I can. Jeff has to make his decisions about his life.

I have to focus on my 2 boys & soon to arrive son. I can only control MY actions.”

Last night, Beth Hardy published two posts on Twitter, where she implied that she wasn’t happy with Matt’s statement.

Reby Hardy replied to Beth’s statements with the following rant on how Matt cares about Jeff even if Beth doesn’t believe it:

“No matter how much you dislike him, MATT IS STILL HIS BROTHER, here LONG before your ass & is family, not ‘family,’ PERIOD. Any statements from Matt about Jeff don’t need YOUR approval; it ain’t about YOU. I know it kills you to have anyone acknowledge that the facade of a perfect life you try to maintain is a f–king joke, but not everyone thinks the sun shines out of your asses, Beth, and not everyone wants to be complicit in your ‘protecting’ & enabling of a man who is well on his way to killing himself or someone else.

You’re an idiot if you really believe Jeff’s actions don’t affect Matt; they do & and he has every f–king right to speak his mind on HIS OWN BROTHER. Remember, he speaks from EXPERIENCE. Unlike you, we don’t run & hide from our issues & pretend nothing is or was ever wrong in this house. Matt was the absolute worst & I’ve seen how bad it can truly get. I know how this story ends if you don’t f–king wake up already. Worry about THAT instead of what is said to ‘f–king nobodies online,’ as you so eloquently describe their fans.

It’s not ‘talking s–t,’ it’s living in REALITY & holding people accountable when they need it. Maybe it’s time to put the wine emojis away, drop the Twitter stuntin’ & put that energy into keeping your man from driving f-ked up on the street I drive WITH MY CHILDREN before trying to come at a man for addressing his own blood/business partner. In short, & as always, MIND YOUR F–KING BUSINESS.”

Matt Hardy also weighed in on the matter and said that he doesn’t need permission to address his own brother.

Jeff was also arrested in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for being intoxicated in public back in July. Hardy was released later that day on a bond that was less than $200.

Hardy underwent knee surgery back in May with the expected timeline that he is going to be out of action for approximately 6-9 months following surgery to repair a damaged knee.

  • Becky Lynch On The Anniversary Of “The Man”

Becky Lynch On The Anniversary Of “The Man”

Last year in June, Becky Lynch began a winning streak after a major slump in her career and won the SmackDown Women’s Championship. She then turned heel for the first time and started using “The Man” moniker. Lynch perceived herself as an unfairly-treated underdog and attacked Charlotte Flair after their match with Carmella at SummerSlam.

The change in character was well received by audiences and Becky Lynch would go on to win both the Raw and SmackDown Women titles in the main event of WrestleMania, which got her another nickname, “Becky Two Belts”.

Since then, the current Raw Women’s Champion has been on a roll and she looked back on her career and talked about her “Manniversary” in a recent interview with IGN.

“Wow, yes, it would have been around this time that I started it. Whoa. Either time is flying or, I don’t know, maybe it even feels shorter than a year. It’s been crazy. It’s been go go go go. So many things have happened that it’s sometimes hard to sit back and realize ‘Well, this has gone alright for itself,” Becky Lynch said.

The Man also discussed how her journey has been to this point. She stated that she didn’t usually have time to think and look back at her achievements, but when she realized how much she has progressed she asked herself how far can she still go.

“It’s all been incredible. I’ve been fortunate enough to have done so many firsts, but it’s very hard to sit back and let it all sink in. When we were filming the trailer for [WWE 2K20], it was the first time I sat back and realized what the magnitude was of main eventing WrestleMania this year. And what it had done for me. And it sat in me for a second on the set, because I never usually have time to think about it. Because after WrestleMania there was media. And then there was RAW. And then SmackDown. And then my parents came back to my house. So I never had time to digest any of it. So while shooting for this, it was probably the first time I really thought about it. But, also, it’s always just ‘What’s next?’ How can we keep it going? How do we keep it moving? How can we keep this industry exciting? How can we make people care more? How can we get people more invested? That’s what I’m always thinking about.”

On main eventing WrestleMania, The Man said that she needs more girls to step up as she can’t do it alone.

“If everyone’s resting on their laurels, and feeling complacent, then we can’t get better. I can’t main event WrestleMania by myself. And I got a taste of it and I don’t want to give up that spot. I want to main event WrestleMania again and again and again.”

Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch will go one-on-one this Monday on Raw. Lynch was the first pick selected in the draft by Raw while Banks was drafted to Smackdown.

“This time, their rivalry’s latest chapter determines which brand gets the first pick to begin Night 2 of the WWE Draft. Becky will represent Raw after being selected first overall on Friday’s SmackDown, while ‘The Blueprint’ battles on behalf of the blue brand,” a WWE press release for the match reads.
