Kofi Kingston To Randy Orton: “I Am Not The Same Kid You Buried In 2009”

After successfully retaining the WWE Championship, Kofi Kingston set his sight on the next block – WWE SummerSlam. Kingston wrote, “And we’re on to #SummerSlam…”

The man who is set to face Kingston for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam – Randy Orton, replied to the tweet, coldly reminding him that he’s coming for his title and how lucky he has been at SummerSlam events when it comes to title matches.

To this, Kingston snapped back and said that he’s not the same person that Orton was able to bury back in 2009. He warned Kingston that SummerSlam will be very different.

You can see their interaction below:

Orton still didn’t stop with his jabs and posted a pic in a jocular vein from his vacation with his wife in the Maldives. The caption read, “Day 3 of my #WWE Championship winning workout regimen. I can already feel the gains, and yes I am tan af. Today was balancing while intoxicated and tomorrow @kim.orton01 will help me with my oxygen deprivation training.”

The back and forth between Kingston and Orton has been entertaining so far and it only builds up well towards their eventual meeting in the ring. Meanwhile the current card for the event looks something like this:

  • WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins
  • WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Natalya
  • WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Ember Moon
  • Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon – If Owens Loses He’s Forced To Quit WWE
  • WWE Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton
  • Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt

Lisa Marie Varon On Not Being Inducted Into WWE’s Hall Of Fame

Lisa Marie Varon, better known as Victoria to WWE fans, recently spoke to Kevin Kellam of WrestleZone.com. During the interview she was asked about possibly being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Varon said that she gets that question all the time and all she really needs is to hear from fans that she did good and that she deserves the honor of getting inducted into the Hall of Fame.

“I get that question all the time. When I hear it from the fans that I deserve it, that means I did my job. They were entertained by me and they appreciated my work, my ethic in the business and they’ve appreciated what I’ve done. That makes me feel good when I hear it from fans, and that’s all I really need.”

Varon also explained that ultimately it only depends on WWE – not on her or fans’ support.

“It’s not my decision to be inducted into the Hall of Fame; we don’t call and say, ‘hey, it’s my turn.’ It’s not something we do. Or it’s ‘well, why don’t you go back?’ You don’t understand—we don’t pick up the phone and say we want to come back, you have to be invited.”

Varon said that it would be amazing if she gets inducted in the future, but for now support from fans is enough for her.

“When that next time comes, it will be amazing, but when I hear it from the fans it’s enough right now. Getting a shout-out from Torrie Wilson—it’s nice, but it’s a hard question to answer because it sounds pompous to say ‘yeah, I deserve to be there’. At the same time, will it happen? I don’t know. It’s not my decision.”

Varon was encouraged to become a professional wrestler by then WWF star Chyna, who she met through a chance meeting. She trained for three years in WWF’s developmnental territories and then made her debut in June 2002. She got a push as soon as she stepped in as she would go on to become the WWE Women’s Champion in just four months of her debut. She won the title from Trish Stratus in a Women’s Championship Hardcore Match at Survivor Series 2002.

She was a part of many Hardcore Matches and Street Fights, and even won a Divas Steel Cage Match against Lita in 2003. She would go on to win the Women’s Championship a second time in February 2004.

She subsequently left WWE in 2009 and debuted in TNA as Tara, where she would go on to become five-time TNA Knockouts Champion.

While it’s no question that she deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, we wonder when the time will come.

John Morrison Set To Undergo Stem Cell Treatment

Johnny Impact aka John Morrison is headed to Medellin, Colombia to undergo advanced stem cell treatment for his nagging injuries.

The 39 year-old shared the news on his social media yesterday. Morrison explained that he is excited to be heading to the South American country to receive the advanced treatment.

He wrote, “I’m excited to head to Medellin, Colombia, South America to receive according to my research safe and extremely advanced stem cell treatment for nagging injuries incurred over the last 18 years of making towns, bumping & feeding, & taking dudes to Slamtown”

John Morrison last appeared on Impact Wrestling at Slammiversary XVII where he challenged X Division Champion Rich Swann for the title. It was later reported that he was done with the company.

It’s great that he is trying to get treatment – there’s a lot going on in the wrestling world right now and since he’s done with Impact Wrestling it’s safe to say that he has essentially become one of the hottest free agents in wrestling.

Here’s hoping Morrison gets well quickly and after his treatment we can see him back in the ring again.

AJ Styles On Seth Rollins Defending WWE Against Criticism

Current WWE United States Champion AJ Styles shared his thoughts on all the criticism received by WWE from the fans during the past few weeks. He also defended Seth Rollins who has recently been vocal about WWE’s critics.

In an interview with Sporting News, Styles said that he understands why Rollins was calling out fans for their negativity towards WWE. Styles believes every Superstar tries their hardest to be received well by fans and it gets aggravating when things don’t go the way that they like and then we have to hear it from somebody else. Styles also thinks it is important to not care about armchair critics.

Speaking about Rollins calling out fans, Styles said, “I totally understand where he’s coming from. We’re out there doing trying our best to entertain everyone to the best of our ability. It’s not easy to do that and then you want to be arm-chair quarterbacks. Hindsight sucks. Everybody wants to do that. You can’t do that.

Styles says that if the critics were good at what they do, they would be working in the wrestling business:

“If they were so good at what they’ve done, and I know you’ve heard this before, if these guys who want to criticize wrestling were so good at what they do, they’d have a job in the wrestling business. But they don’t. They rely on what someone else has said and whether or not they agree with that. They pick and choose what they like. You can’t do that. Either you enjoy it or you don’t. Regardless, you’re making a show about it weekly, so something must be going right. Somebody is doing something right.”

Styles then ended with a comment emphasizing the fact that WWE Superstars are trying their best to entertain and it gets frustrating when people keep pointing out things that didn’t go the way they wanted to go.

“We want to entertain. We want to do our best, so it’s aggravating when not only do we know some things don’t go the way that we like, then we have to hear it from somebody else.”

Lacey Evans To Appear On Lifetime’s “Military Makeover” Show

WWE Superstar Lacey Evans is a veteran of the U.S. Marines where she served for five years as a military police officer with the Special Reaction Team. She was able to successfully transition into wrestling but she knows how difficult it is for veterans to make it into civilian employment.

Which is why Evans will be appearing as a special guest on an upcoming episode of Lifetime Network’s TV show Military Makeover – a home-improvement series with Montel Williams which helps rebuild homes of military families. The team of the show comes prepared with building supplies, furniture and other materials to give their house a makeover.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B0CEEI5HTJV/?hl=en

The show’s team was in Panama Beach last week to reveal a revamped house of Gold Star widow Cody Patron, whose husband Sergeant Daniel J. Patron was killed in the line of duty back in 2011 in the Sangin Valley, Afghanistan, and her home destroyed by Hurricane Michael this past October.

The host Montel Williams, special guest Lacey Evans and the crew of the show wrapped up filming of the episode on July 20 with a big reveal of the rebuilt house.

You can catch the episode on Lifetime, August 30 at 6:30 a.m. central or on militarymakeover.tv

Dominik Dijakovic Seeks Taz’s Permission To Use His Finisher

A finishing move of a wrestler is amongst one of the defining traits of what makes a character work. There’s only so many maneuvers you can use as your finishing move and sometimes you just have a favorite move that has already been attached to someone else’s name.

WWE NXT Superstar Dominik Dijakovic is one of those wrestlers who has become fond of such a move that’s already used by another wrestler in the past. The move in question is the Tazmission, which Taz used during his time in ECW and WWE.

The NXT star requested to use Taz’s old finisher by writing to him on Twitter. His succinct tweet read, “Hello @OfficialTAZ, do you mind if I start using your Tazmission hold on WWE programming and events to defeat my opponents? I have found it to be a very effective maneuver. Thank you.”

https://twitter.com/DijakovicWWE/status/1155587323100323840

The Tazmission is a half nelson choke which is a professional wrestling variant of the kata ha jime chokehold move from judo. The move is performed by putting the opponent in a half nelson with one arm and using the other to grab the opponent’s neck. Taz used this move while adding the body scissors to it, which made it look much more stronger. Here’s Taz applying the move in his WWE debut match against Kurt Angle at the 2000 Royal Rumble (6:12 mark in the video):

Dijakovic has an entire career ahead of him and we might very well be seeing him use the Tazmission on his opponents in WWE in the near future. This could of course only happen once Taz responds to Dijakovik’s request, which we will be on the lookout for.

UPDATE: Taz has responded to Dijakovic and also to other people’s comments, which reveal his thoughts on the whole thing.

https://twitter.com/OfficialTAZ/status/1155879391324450816
Taz seemingly agrees that a big guy like Dijavokic shouldn’t be using a submission move as his finisher.

Some users said that the move existed in judo way before Taz even started using it, like explained above. Taz clarified that he was the first to use the move in professional wrestling:

https://twitter.com/OfficialTAZ/status/1155881725991538688

Taz concluded by stating that every move that he incorporated in his wrestling style is special to him and they aren’t merely just moves or holds for him:

Alberto El Patron Says His New Promotion Will Offer Health Insurance

Health insurance had become the talk of town in the wrestling world recently, with John Oliver having an entire segment on WWE refusing to provide its workers with insurance on Last Week Tonight. AEW, on the other hand, has promised benefits and lighter schedule for wrestlers – but has the same answer more or less when it comes to the question of health care.

There is, however, one promotion who claims to give health insurance and life insurance to its wrestlers. Speaking to Miami Herald, Alberto El Patron – formerly Alberto Del Rio – revealed that his new promotion Nacion Lucha Libre will offer “stuff they don’t have in other companies”, including insurance.

El Patron, who is teaming with Chavo Guerrero Jr. to form the promotion said (transcription via Wrestling Inc.), “We’re always going to have doctors. [Our wrestlers] are going to have health insurance and life insurance. Stuff they don’t have in any other companies.”

“Most of the companies, including WWE, they have their own doctors. They don’t provide you with health insurance. They force you to get your own health insurance. If you don’t get you own insurance, you’re not allowed to perform. If anything happens in their shows, yes you’re completely covered, which I think is the only company doing that. Me, I remember having a terrible injury about eight years ago and they took care of everything. I think they’re the only company doing that but they don’t actually provide you with health insurance. They’re just covered in their events.”

El Patron explained that NLL will also include a retirement plan. He claimed that other promoters don’t care about wrestlers’ well-being and they’re “just meat” to them.

The promotion has also secured a television deal with Imagen TV in Mexico. NLL’s debut show will be held on Friday, 11 July at Sala de Armas in Mexico City, Mexico. Ricardo Rodriguez will work as a referee in the promotion and names such as MVP, The Lucha Brothers, Chavo Guerrero Jr., El Hijo del Fantasma will be competing at the event. The entire lineup is as follows:

  • Alberto El Patron, Hijo Del Fantasma & Rey Wagner vs MVP, Apolo, & Mesias
  • The Lucha Bros (Pentagon & Fenix) vs Chavo Guerrero & Mechawolf 450
  • Daga & Flamita vs Puma King & Rey Horus
  • Thunder Rosa, Cristy James, & Stephanie Waquer vs Sexy Star, Lady Flammer, & Reina Oscura
  • Solar vs Negro Navarro vs Damian 666 vs Canek
  • Mr. Iguana & Fresero Jr vs Bestia 666 & Black Taurus vs Laredo Kid & the Tiger
  • Hijo De Dos Caras, Hijo De Wagner, Dual vs. Bram, La Mascara and Batab El Guerrero
  • Relampago vs. Heddi Karaoui

Young Bucks Discuss AEW’s Plans To Expand In UK

We recently learned from a report that WWE is trying to strengthen their grip on the United Kingdom market after AEW signed a TV deal with popular free-to-air channel ITV. (More details here)

We only know that AEW has a weekly television deal with ITV in place and a possible PPV event in the island nation for now, and Young Bucks are here to give more info on the matter.

Speaking to The Independent, Matt explains why having a UK TV deal was a priority for the promotion. “We’ve had a large fan-base in the UK for years. The Khans are popular over there with Fulham FC and, I think, right away we have our foot in the door – we’re definitely looking to come there and present AEW.”

As for the UK PPV event, which will be a first in over 25 years, Young Bucks reveal they already have a working title for the event in mind.

“I don’t want to put out too many spoilers, but we might have already thought of the name for one event!” said Nick.

Matt added, “We already have a working title, if that tells you anything – I can’t take credit for it because a fan gave me the idea! I presented it in the group chat and everybody immediately gave it the thumbs up. “

While nothing is confirmed yet, the company seems to have UK on their bucket list for sure.

“Going over there is a big priority for us; we know there is a large fan-base there and that they want to see All Elite Wrestling,” Matt said.

“We don’t have anything confirmed yet, but I can almost guarantee that we’ll eventually be there.”

With their TV deal with ITV, Matt says AEW wants to become a household name and reach the casual audience.

“My hope is that we’re regularly on television, pulling in good ratings and have developed an even larger fan-base where more casual fans are AEW fans.
Right now we have that cult following, we have the ‘smarter’ fans, but it’s time to appease the children, to reach families and get everyone on board.”

Bullet Club Member Turns On Stable, Joins CHAOS

A Bullet Club member has turned his back on his stablemates and instead joined the rival faction CHAOS at the NJPW Southern Showdown event in Sydney on June 30.

Robbie Eagles had enough of Bullet Club and turned on them by joining CHAOS’ Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada.

Eagles was frustrated with Bullet Club as he felt that his spotlight was stolen by the addition of Canadian indie star El Phantasmo to the group.

On Night 2 of the NJPW Southern Showdown event, Eagles was part of the six-man tag team match where he teamed up with Jay White & Bad Luck Fale against Hiroshi Tanahashi, Okada & Ospreay of CHAOS.

After the match, Eagles turned on Bullet Club after having enough and was subsequently beaten down by his now-former partners. Surprisingly, Ospreay returned to help Eagles and offered him a spot in CHAOS, which he accepted.

Ric Flair Discusses Cody Rhodes Destroying Triple H’s Throne

All Elite Wrestling has become the most trending commodity in the world of professional wrestling and everyone has thoughts about it. A particular event made more waves during the company’s Double or Nothing show during which Cody Rhodes smashed Triple H’s throne while making his entrance.

WWE Hall of Famer and Legend Ric Flair who is close friends with AEW President Tony Khan, spoke to WrestlingInc. on their WINCLY Podcast and gave his opinion on Cody smashing the throne with a sledgehammer.

Flair believes that Cody went straight for Triple H because The Game is a top guy. “If you are going to make a statement, Hunter’s a top guy,” said Flair.

“Hunter is a disciple of the business and could not have come along at a better time in wrestling than he did. Then of course marrying Stephanie and he’s got a work ethic just like Vince has. In my mind, if something ever happens to Vince, God forbid, Hunter will be the one running the company.”

And that is how a statement is made, according to The Nature Boy. “So, that’s how you get someone’s attention. You jump on a guy. When they are talking about you, you’re doing something good. That’s a good saying in this business.”

AEW Wrestlers Spoof Infamous Fyre Festival On Twitter

If you are unaware, All Elite Wrestling’s Fyter Fest event takes its name, logo and branding from the fraudulent “luxury music festival” Fyre Festival that took place in 2017. It was attended by more than 4,000 people on the Bahamian island of Exuma. The event was heavily promoted on Instagram by top “social media influencers” including Kendall Jenner (who was reportedly paid $250,000 for a single Instagram post to promote the event), and other celebrities.

The Fyre Festival was a huge disaster as during the inaugural weekend, the event experienced problems related to security, food, accommodation, medical services and artist relations, resulting in the festival being postponed indefinitely. Instead of receiving the promised luxury villas and gourmet meals for which festival attendees paid thousands of dollars, they received pre-packaged sandwiches and FEMA tents, which were declared “free for all”, resulting in absolute chaos.

The AEW boys of course made several spoof references on Twitter to the disastorous event and its organizers before Fyre Festival.

Below are the parody tweets, with some real tweets from Fyre Festival that they are referencing.

Eric Bischoff’s 83 Weeks Podcast To Continue Despite New WWE Role

Eric Bischoff, whose recent hiring by WWE has shaken the wrestling world, has clarified that his 83 Weeks With Eric Bischoff podcast will continue despite his new WWE role.

Bischoff is set to be in charge of SmackDown Live and was hired along with Paul Heyman who is brought to be in charge of Raw.

The new Executive Director of SmackDown was asked by a fan if he would be taking a break from the podcast because of his new job.

“83 Weeks will continue as scheduled. The show must go on!!” answered Bischoff on Twitter.

The podcast made its debut on 30 April, 2018 and has been running for 61 episodes as of this writing. The name “83 Weeks” comes from the fact that Bischoff, when he was President of WCW, beat WWF’s Monday Night Raw with his Monday Nitro show for 83 weeks straight during the Monday Night Wars.

ROH Reportedly Signs Billy Gunn’s Son Austin

At the River City Wrestling Con last night, Teddy Long made a surprise appearance and introduced WWE Hall of Famer Billy Gunn’s son, Austin Gunn.

Austin arrived sporting a Ring of Honor t-shirt and reportedly declared that he has signed with the company. Fightful say they have been able to confirm that the company has indeed signed Austin.

https://twitter.com/travisakers/status/1145094008957480961

Austin was seen at All In’s pre-show Zero Hour on 1 September, 2018 where he took part in the Over the Budget battle royal. The 24-year old has made appearances for MCW Pro, Ohio Valley Wrestling, etc since he started wrestling in 2017 after receiving training from his father, Bully Ray, and Devon Dudley.

It’s interesting that Austin has headed the other way instead of joining AEW where his father currently works. Billy Gunn is a coach and a producer for the new promotion, but ROH can be a great ground for gaining experience.

Braun Strowman Reportedly Working Injured

We haven’t seen Braun Stormwan wrestle for a couple of weeks now, and there seems to be a good reason behind it.

Strowman’s last match was a fatal five-way elimination match two weeks ago, and since then he has been involved in stuff like arm wrestling and tug-of-war contests.

The reason why we’re not seeing Strowman plow his enemies in the ring, is because he is currently working through a leg or knee injury which has slowed him down, according to report by Wrestling Observer Radio. It was reported that Strowman will still continue to work despite the injury.

Meanwhile WWE has announced a Falls Count Anywhere Match between Strowman and Bobby Lashley for tomorrow night on Raw.

It remains to be seen if he’ll actually participate in the match or not.

Strowman is also not booked for Extreme Rules yet, but there’s still two Raw episodes to go so it’s possible to find him competing at the event. Interestingly enough, Strowman was also not booked for Stomping Grounds and Money in the Bank.

Paige On How Fighting With My Family Helped Her, Vince McMahon’s Reaction To The Film

The Kabuki Warriors manager, Paige recently talked about how Fighting with My Family helped take a new direction in her life and career.

Speaking to The Sun Sport, Paige revealed that she was going through terrible times when the movie was being made, but she was able to power through.

Paige was hit with two drug test suspensions by WWE, and a rocky relationship with her now-ex Alberto Del Rio. She was also the victim of a sex tape leak.

Paige suffered a neck injury and was out of action for a year. When she returned in 2017, she suffered another injury which forced her to retire from wrestling.

Paige says that even though she was going through a lot, she opened her eyes and got out of the bubble so that the movie could be made.

“The movie was in the process of being made while I was going through those terrible two years. I could have lost it completely but I opened my eyes and got out of that bubble quick enough that the movie was still able to be made. It was a wonderful feeling to finally get to watch it and put what I’d done before completely in the past and bury it and pretty much start over again.”

When the movie came out, Paige received a lot of well wishes by her co-workers. One particular personality that also wished her was Vince McMahon.

“I don’t know what Vince’s reaction to it was. But if you get a big hug from Vince McMahon you’re doing well. I saw him last week and he gave me a big hug and said, ‘I’m very happy for you.’ I don’t know it that’s about the movie or the fact that I’m healthy. I think he probably liked it if he did watch it.”

Additionally, Paige also talked about how helpful Triple H and Vince McMahon can be when it comes to issues with writing, or when they’re not utilised properly.

“It frustrates me but once you actually get to speak with Vince and Hunter about your problems and frustrations, they’re always the first to say, ‘Let’s change this.’

“If you go up to writers it’s like talking to a brick wall sometimes, whereas if you go to Vince and Hunter they’re like, ‘If you have a problem we can change that for you.’”

WWE Reportedly Negotiating Free-To-Air Highlights Package In UK

The WWE is reportedly negotiating a free-to-air highlights package in the United Kingdom.

In the UK, WWE content was only available on Sky Sports behind a paywall. The broadcast time for Raw and SmackDown is in the early morning, and no highlights of the show were broadcasted later in the day since the early 2000s when Channel 4 aired a highlights show and some main events.

According to a report by SportsBusiness Media, WWE is in negotiations with broadcasters to televise a free-to-air highlights package.

The rights will reportedly start from 2020 but the end date has not been not defined yet. It is possible that the end date will depend on the broadcaster.

The WWE will also be ending their partnership with Sky Sports after three decades. Earlier this month, WWE signed a new multi-year deal with pay-television broadcaster BT Sport to air Raw and SmackDown in the UK. This deal also begins in 2020.

If all things go smoothly, the UK audience will be able to access WWE content better than ever before, considering a deal goes through.

This comes after All Elite Wrestling signed a deal with ITV to air their upcoming weekly show on free-to-air channel ITV 4 later this year.

Matt Riddle Responds To Booker T Saying He Needs A Lot Of Work

Booker T appeared to have taken offense to Matt Riddle’s comments about Bill Goldberg. Riddle had said that Goldberg is “hurting people” when talking about his performance at Super ShowDown against The Undertaker:

“The thing for me is, and one of the reasons I was never a fan of Goldberg in the beginning when everybody was like ‘oh, he’s so good!’ I was like ‘no, he’s terrible, he’s hurting people’ and there’s nothing else.”

Booker T didn’t take this comment lightly and said that Riddle needs to work a lot on himself before he starts talking about anybody.

“I was listening to Matt Riddle talk about Goldberg,” Booker T said on his Reality of Wrestling show. “And I got a chance to watch Matt Riddle work. This guy needs a lot of work. You’re talking about somebody that needs to work on their craft? This Matt Riddle, he needs to work on his craft and that’s coming from Booker T.”

It didn’t take long before Riddle himself took notice of Booker T’s comments and responded back to the story on his social media.

The Bro wrote without a care in the world, “I guess old WCW wrestlers hate the bro, I wonder who will be next”

Riddle is known for being outspoken and speaking his mind, it is quite possible that these comments can get the attention of another wrestling veteran.

WWE Teasing Undertaker For Raw

The Undertaker shocked the audience in attention and the fans watching earlier this week when he made a surprise appearance on Monday Night Raw and saved Roman Reigns from Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon’s attack.

Shane was about to go Coast To Coast and that’s when the spine-chilling gong was heard. The Deadman appeared and Chokeslamed Shane, and kicked McIntyre outside of the ring.

It was later confirmed that this return would be an in-ring one, as The Phenom will be teaming up with The Big Dog to take on McMahon and McIntyre on Extreme Rules.

WWE Raw Preview For July 1, 2019: New Day To Compete Via Wild Card Rule

However it looks like there is another appearance The Undertaker just might make on the Monday Night show. WWE is seemingly teasing Undertaker’s appearance on Raw on their preview of the show.

“It was an alliance that no one saw coming (especially not Roman Reigns), but The Undertaker returned this past Monday night on Raw to help The Big Dog repel a two-on-one beat-down at the hands of Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre. The unexpected assist led to a blockbuster WWE Extreme Rules announcement that Reigns and The Deadman will join forces against “The Best in the World” and The Scottish Psychopath in Philadelphia.

What fallout from this shocking team-up will we witness this Monday on Raw?”

We would like to remind our readers that WWE has not officially advertised Undertaker for Raw, but that he is only featured in the preview. Do you guys think there is a possibility he will make an appearance on 1 July? Let us know below.

Christopher Daniels On Working In & Out Of The Ring At AEW

Christopher Daniels, who is getting ready to face CIMA at All Elite Wrestling’s Fyter Fest event, recently talked about his backstage role as the Head of Talent Relations in AEW and how he managed to transition into a role of managerial capacity.

Speaking to CBS Miami, Daniels described his backstage role at the company. “It’s really just a matter of being a liaison between the talent and the office. Right now my job is a lot of emails, a lot of phone calls. We’re working on visas for international talents and all this stuff for all the regular talent. Trying to find referees, trying to find announcers. Just coordinating all of that stuff. It’s a lot of busy work. But, it’s fun and I’m glad that I was given an opportunity to sort of use my relationships with a lot of these wrestlers in a positive way, to help the company and build from the bottom a good locker room, and a positive feeling between the talent and the office.”

Daniels says that while he hoped he got to work backstage, he never envision it to happen so fast. If the AEW didn’t exist, Daniels would be working in Ring of Honor in a similar capacity.

“If you had asked me two years ago, I probably would have told you that I would be doing something similar to this in Ring of Honor. But you know, this opportunity came around, and when it did, I couldn’t really turn away. Yeah, it’s brand new territory that we’re sort of blazing a trail in, but it’s an opportunity that I couldn’t say no to. And I’m glad. So far the trip has been exciting and amazing and I can’t wait to see how the next couple years go for us.”

AEW will soon be getting its own live weekly TV show. Daniels was asked if he has thought about how he’s going to manage his in-ring and backstage role.

“No. It’s not going to be up to me whether I’m wrestling every week or not. If I’m wrestling every week, so be it. And we’ll see if I can hang or not. We’ll all find out together, but my plan is to wrestle as often as I can, and once the television goes on, it’s all hands on deck. I’m going to continue to go until I feel that I can’t go at a level that is respectable for me.”

WWE Raw Preview For July 1, 2019: New Day To Compete Via Wild Card Rule

Monday night’s edition of WWE Raw takes place from American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on 1 July.

The top match advertised for the episode is a first-time ever tag team match between the New Day and the Viking Raiders, and a Falls Count Anywhere match between Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley.

The WWE is also seemingly teasing an appearance from The Undertaker for the show. The website is focusing on what fallout the team of Roman Reigns and The Undertaker will witness on Monday night. Interestingly enough, there are no mentions of Paul Heyman or Eric Bischoff in the official preview.

Finally, the Raw preview at WWE.com focuses on the following:

  • How will Baron Corbin & Lacey Evans exploit Seth Rollins’ “kryptonite”?
  • Is AJ Styles in line for a U.S. Title opportunity?
  • Is Samoa Joe our next WWE Champion?

“PSA: For the promoters who false advertise and say I am on their show… You look dumb AF. I will call your ass out on all my social media so all the many wrestling fans will see you are a scam. To the fans: If I don’t post it on my social media, it is probably fake.”

Zhang was signed in 2017 to NXT under the ring name Zeda. She made her wrestling debut on May 13, 2017. She was eliminated in the first round of the Mae Young Classic by Shayna Baszler.
