Ronda Rousey Says WWE Copied Women’s Evolution In Backhanded Compliment

In an apparent backhanded compliment, Ronda Rousey said that WWE is copying the women’s evolution.

Appearing on ESPN’s Sports Center with fellow stars Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, Rousey talked about women in WWE and how much progress the women’s evolution made in a timespan of a year. What seemed like a plaudit for WWE’s efforts to revolutionize the women’s roster, Rousey said that the company started focusing on women after others started doing it.

“It’s just incredible the amount of momentum that we’ve been able to generate within just a year. If you look at last year’s WrestleMania compared to now, like what I think was happening with WWE is really a parallel for everything that’s happened culturally around the world.

The WWE just… copies everything else that’s happening, like the women’s evolution and revolution and every industry out there.”

Rousey further added, “I really think that this is one of those mediums where you can affect real social changes and affect how women view themselves. This is the same company that had bra and panty matches that are now you know, raising the women to the highest pinnacle that they have in the industry.”

Rousey basically implied that WWE is late to the party and are only going with the women’s evolution because it is “in” right now. But the rest of the interview was Rousey praising WWE for their efforts. It is after all very Rousey-esque to still take a small shot at WWE while praising them.

  • Tammy Sytch (Sunny) Jailed For Parole Violations

Tammy Sytch (Sunny) Jailed For Parole Violations

WWE Hall of Famer Sunny has been jailed for alleged parole violations.

According to The Express-Times, Sunny was being held on Tuesday in the Carbon County prison for violating parole terms related to guilty pleas from three drunken driving cases from 2016.

Court records show that a bench warrant was issued for Sunny’s arrest on February 15 by a Carbon County judge, at the request of the Carbon County Adult Probation/Parole Department. This is because Sunny missed a scheduled drug test on February 11, and failed to maintain a stable residence and report her whereabouts to her parole officer, as directed.

She was then arrested on February 23 for driving while intoxicated in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. This would be her third DUI arrest in 12 months, and sixth overall.

She was sentenced to 5 years in prison in 2016 but was given credit for 97 days time served and paroled. She is now set for a hearing scheduled for April 5 in Carbon County Court on probable cause for revocation of her parole.

Sunny’s attorney filed a petition on Tuesday to withdraw as her defense counsel, court records show.

  • NXT Star Oney Lorcan Joins 205 Live

NXT Star Oney Lorcan Joins 205 Live

Oney Lorcan is the newest member of the 205 Live cruiserweight roster.

205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick made the announcement Tuesday night in a video seen below.

“WWE Universe, this is 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick. I said at the beginning of the year that you would be seeing some new faces here on 205 Live. We’ve already added Humberto Carrillo to the Cruiserweight Division. Now, I am proud to announce to you that Oney Lorcan will not only be competing for NXT but also going forward will be competing for 205 Live in the Cruiserweight Division. He is excited for this tremendous opportunity, and so am I.”

Lorcan was present at last night’s 205 Live episode and watched the main event match of Cedric Alexander vs. Ariya Daivari from ringside. Alexander was distracted from Lorcan, and the two were also involved in a brawl after the match.

This happened because during the match, Alexander knocked down Lorcan’s jacket and this angered Lorcan. Lorcan distracted Alexander and Daivari took the opportunity by defeating him with a surprise roll-up pin. The two engaged in a brawl and had to be separated by WWE officials.

    WWE 205 Live Results (3/26/19)

The March 26, 2019 edition of WWE 205 Live took place from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut after SmackDown on the WWE Network.

Below are match results from the episode:

    • The Lucha House Party def. Humberto Carrillo, Drew Gulak & Gentleman Jack Gallagher

The six-man tag team match lasted well over a thirty minutes. The back-and-forth action came to an end when Gulak and Carillo started arguing.

Carrillo and Kalisto were the only legal competitior in the ring, and Carrillo went up the top rope to execute a high-flying move. Gulak, however interjected, and told Carrillo to come down. The both of them conitnued to argue while Kalisto took advantage by pinning Carrillo after hitting the Salida del Sol on him.

    • Ariya Daivari def. Cedric Alexander

The main event of the episode. Before the match began, Oney Lorcan made his way to the ring and watched the match from ringside – which was a little distracting for Alexander.

Daivari took advantage of this and put down Alexander with some vicious strikes. Alexander however, was able to fight back and scored a near-fall with a Flatliner.

Alexander got on the top ropes but Daivari knocked him down. Daivari puts Alexander for a near-fall of his own. They both then exchange strikes in the middle of the ring with another near-fall for Alexander.

Daivari hits a Persian Lion Splash but is still unable to score a three count. Alexander fought back by throwing Daivari outside of the ring. Alexander knocked down Lorcan’s jacket and Lorcan started screaming at him. This confused Alexander and he was distracted as he reentered the ring, and Daivari capitalized by rolling him up for a shocking victory. Lorcan attacked Alexander after the match and the two of them had to be separated from their brawl.

  • Kurt Angle To Face AJ Styles In SmackDown Match

Kurt Angle To Face AJ Styles In SmackDown Match

Kurt Angle is going to face AJ Styles this Tuesday in what will be his last ever match on SmackDown, WWE announced on Sunday.

Despite sharing a long history of matches, this will be the first time that Angle and Styles would face each other in WWE.

On March 11, Angle made the announcement that he would be competing in his final match at WrestleMania 35. He has been having matches since then every week on Raw as part of his farewell tour, facing the likes of Apollo Crews and Chad Gable.

The two were involved in literally a 100 matches during their time in the TNA. They faced each other for the last time in July of 2013 at the TNA BaseBrawl house show, where Angle defeated Styles. Will the SD Live match have the same outcome?

AJ Styles actually commented on his upcoming match with Angle during a Live Event in Buffalo yesterday. He said that he expects the Olympic Gold Medalist to tear the house down in his final match on the blue brand.

“Mohegan Sun Arena… Tuesday night SmackDown Live! Kurt Angle’s last match… at least for SmackDown that is. Against AJ Styles. We’ve got history, Kurt. Great matches. So we get to end this one in a WWE ring. I’m looking forward to it. You know of the respect that I have for you… But I’m not gonna make this easy on you Kurt. I expect you to bring it. Just tear the house down.”

While on the topic of 2018’s European tour that Nikki wrestled in, she made the announcement that she will be hanging up her boots. “The tour was good but I just feel like I’m too old for that travel,” Nikki told her family and friends during a dinner. “The travel was really, really rough. So I realized and I was like, ‘Why am I doing this?’ I don’t feel good, and I can’t – The girls are doing amazing things over there. I really am ready to hang up the jersey.”

Nikki noted that while on the European tour she realized her body and her mind can’t keep up with the schedule of a wrestler.

“Being on the European tour, I’ve had a lot of time to think. Just how my body feels, being away from my companies, how time consuming this is. It’s making me realize I’m ready to fold the jersey and put it away. I’m ready to put the kicks aside and I’m ready to take Nikki Bella into a different direction.”

Nikki Bella’s last match was against Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Title at a House Show in Italy which took place during the WWE European tour on November 9, 2018.

Nikki’s announcement comes just shortly after her sister Brie’s retirement announcement, which she made on March 10 episode of the show.

  • Kofi Kingston: WWE’s Established Stars Still Have A Lot More To Offer

Kofi Kingston: WWE’s Established Stars Still Have A Lot More To Offer

WWE has a lot of talent coming in from different backgrounds and styles and the roster is full of newcomers impressing the audience with their skills.

Kofi Kingston, an eleven-year WWE vet, gave his thoughts on this wave of newcomers in the company and said that the old-timers still have a lot they can give to the fans.

Speaking to The Independent, Kofi said, “AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton… you forget how long they’ve been doing this for.”

“I don’t think there’s a person watching them that would say ‘they need to hang up their boots’ – they’ve got a lot more gas left in the tank.

“That’s just a testament to how good they are, and how good they’ve been over time.”

Kofi was asked who he would like to see given a chance to shine in the company. He said, “There are a lot.I am happy to see Apollo Crews getting some time [on television]; he had a real good match with Kurt Angle on Raw last week. He is super athletic and super talented, so for him to get a chance to shine is awesome.

“I’ve always said that 205 Live [one of WWE’s other weekly programmes] is one of the best-kept secrets in WWE.If you watch that show, and see the quality and calibre of athletes on that show; it’s amazing, the things they can do and the stories they can tell in the ring.

“There’s a lot of talent out there, man. It’s tough because, oftentimes, not all of that talent can’t get used, so I’m always happy to see guys that don’t get used a lot, get used and get a chance to really show their abilities on television.”

Kofi Kingston has been the center of attention because of his championship pursuits the past few weeks. On the last episode of SmackDown, Kofi was asked to defeat Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Cesaro, Sheamus, and Rowan in a gauntlet match to receive a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 35. Kofi won the match, but was screwed over by Mr. McMahon who then forced him to also face WWE Champion Daniel Bryan. An exhausted Kofi was unable to win against Bryan.

  • The Miz On WM Venue, If He Would Let His Kids Join WWE

The Miz recently talked to ExtraTV to promote the upcoming second season of Miz and Mrs. During the interview they also discussed a number of various topics, from WrestleMania to the ever-evolving roster of WWE and more. You can read the highlights from the interview below.

On April 7 of 2013, WrestleMania 29 was held at MetLife Stadium with an attendance of 80,676 fans. The Miz was asked about his thoughts on WrestleMania 35 returning to the Stadium.

“We did it a couple of years ago and now we’re back and there’s nothing like being in front of 80,000 people. You know, whether they’re booing. whether they’re cheering. It’s just an electricity in that stadium and it’s always absolutely incredible.”

Miz also talked about the new superstars in WWE who are more fast-paced, possess high-flying skills and how he tries to keep up with them.

“We are always evolving. And as a WWE Superstar, you know, me, I have been there for 13-plus years and now seeing these newcomers come in – they’re a lot more fast paced, a lot more athletic. They’re doing these acrobatic stuff and I’m like ‘Okay. Alright. Now I’ve gotta keep up!’ I am getting a little older but I use my brain more than my brawn sometimes.”

The Miz was asked about his thoughts on if he would support his kidsif they wanted to get into wrestling. He said that he will fully support them.

“I always look at it as whatever you wanna do with your life, I’m gonna give you all the tools that I know of that will help you do what you believe you want to do. So I’ll give them everything I possibly can – the love and support and if they wanna be a WWE Superstar then so be it. It’s given me the life I’ve always wanted. As a kid, I dreamt of being a WWE Superstar… It’s a dream come true for me so I would want that for my kids if they so want that. But if they wanna do something else, I’ll support them there too.”

  • Nikki Bella Admits It Will ‘Kill’ Her To See John Cena With Another Woman

Nikki Bella Admits It Will ‘Kill’ Her To See John Cena With Another Woman

Nikki Bella says it would ‘kill’ her to see ex John Cena move on with another woman.

The 35-year-old admitted to this in the finale episode of Total Bellas as she and her sister Brie Bella visited Napa Valley in California, the place where she was supposed to tie the knot with Cena.

“This is the first time I’ve been back in Napa since my big breakup and I just immediately get all those memories, but, a part of me is like okay Nicole, now you have to make new memories,” Nikki said.

The return to Napa brought a lot of past memories about her ex. “I think that’s why I was crying so much yesterday. I feel like it was the first time I just fully was starting my true grieving and healing process,” she says. The two broke up in July 2018 after staying 6 years together.

Although Nikki has moved on and is currently dating her former Dancing with the Stars partner Artem Chigvinstev, she admits that it would hurt her to see Cena move on and find someone new.

“No matter what, the next time I see him with someone it’s going to kill me,” she says. “I still have a long way to go. But honestly, I’m ready for a new me. I need it. You know what I feel like I need to do? I need to start living as if I don’t care whether it’s my ex or anyone else watching me and afraid to hurt their feelings.”

Nikki said that she just wants to “move forward.” She has been ‘casually dating’ Chigvintsev since January.

John Cena, on the other hand, is currently not scheduled to appear at WrestleMania and there is no clear creative plan for him at the moment. Though replacing Baron Corbin in Kurt Angle’s last match is being considered a possibility for him at WrestleMania 35.

  • Shane Strickland & Garza Jr. Joining WWE

Shane Strickland & Garza Jr. Joining WWE

WWE will add two more top indy talents to their ever-expanding roster.

Per a report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, Garza Jr and Shane Strickland have both signed deals with WWE and will be reporting to the WWE Performance Center on April 9.

Garza was supposed to join the company last year but his deal fell through when he suffered a shoulder injury, which made him fail the WWE physical test. He was offered a new deal and this time was succesfully able to pass the test.

Garza will be making his last appearance at The Crash show on Saturday in Tijuana.

On March 8 at a DEFY Wrestling event, Shane Strickland said goodbye to fans and said it would be his last appearance, and said that he’s moving on for “better and bigger things.”

WWE has shown interest in the past for the former MLW Champion. He declared himself a free agent in January after being able to fulfill the rest of his Lucha Underground deal.

It would be interesting to see how these top indie stars fare in WWE and how the company handles them.

  • The Rock Says He Identifies As Both Black and Samoan

The Rock Says He Identifies As Both Black and Samoan

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has cleared up on what he identifies as in a Twitter thread.

The Hollywood star responded to a fan on Twitter who in a debate regarding his ethnicity, said that The Rock “identifies as Samoan in WWE and was booked that way.”

The former WWE Champion cleared up the confusion regarding what he identifies as and wrote, “Glad I came across this and I’ll give you guys some context & truth.
I identify as exactly what I am – both. Equally proud. Black/Samoan. And my friend, let me expand your thoughts a bit here – I transcended race in wrestling so there was no “booked that way”. Thx guys (sic)”

The Twitter thread stemmed from a comment which said that “Vince McMahon is going to extraordinary lengths to stop a black man becoming champion.” The man in question here is Kofi Kingston, who is currently involved in a top storyline with his WWE Championship pursuits. Despite a valiant fight this SmackDown Live in a gauntlet match and defeating the roster’s best five back-to-back, Kofi was blindsided by Vince McMahon who then put him in another match against Daniel Bryan which he was unable to win. New Day even thought of quitting the company, but Kofi said that if they quit now then it will be a win for Daniel Bryan and Mr. McMahon.

Rock, on the other hand, has been open and public about his dual ethnicity. He had also revealed that the character he voiced in Moana named Maui, was partly inspired by his late grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia of Samoa. Rock’s mother Ata Johnson is Samoan, while his father is of Black Nova Scotian heritage. Rock is considered a non-blood relative of the Anoa’i wrestling family through his mother.

Title Changes Hands At ROH TV Tapings

WARNING: Please be aware that the following report consists of SPOILERS from Ring of Honor’s latest TV tapings.

On Friday night at ROH’s 17th Anniversary PPV, Brody King and PCO defeated The Briscoe Brothers in a Las Vegas street fight to win the ROH World Tag Team Championship.

Less than 24 hours after the show, ROH TV tapings were held at the Sam’s Town Hotel And Gambling Hall in Las Vegas, Nevada. During the tapings, King and PCO tagged up with Villain Enterprise’s leader Marty Scurll to take on Kingdom’s ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. The trio successfully defeated Kingdom to become the new Six-Man Tag Team Champions.

The World Tag titles are Brody King and PCO’s first ROH gold, and they managed to capture their second gold in the company just a day after. The Six-Man Tag title is Scurll’s overall second championship in the promotion, with the TV Championship being his first, which he won two days after his début at the ROH Reach For The Sky event in November 2016.

PCO and Brody King will be seen defending the ROH World Tag Team Titles at G1 Supercard against current IWGP Tag Team Champions Guerilla Destiny in a winner takes all tag team match.

  • Cris Cyborg To Ronda Rousey: “Let Me Make Wrestling Real Again”

Cris Cyborg To Ronda Rousey: “Let Me Make Wrestling Real Again”

UFC fighter Cris Cyborg is once again testing the waters for a stint in sports entertainment.

The former UFC Women’s Feathrweight champion tweeted a Photoshopped photo of herself in the ring with longtime rival Ronda Rousey. These two will unfortunately step into the Octagon together, but Cyborg is open to a pro wrestling match with Rousey.

This is just one of the many taunts Cyborg has directed towards Rousey for months.

In an interview, Cyborg said that she is willing to fight Rousey in a WWE ring if she’s ever done with MMA and even willing to lose to her in a scripted match – because according to her Rousey won’t face her in a ‘real’ fight.

”I think Ronda’s biggest fear was losing to me, so if we were to do it in WWE she would have to win,” Cyborg said. “I don’t have such a big ego, but if we were to put on a show for the fans, something like that, no problem. But I don’t see myself in it now.”

Cyborg and Rousey have never faced each other inside the Octagon. Though Cyborg has again and again shown interest in joining facing Rousey in WWE.

There were also rumors going around that Cyborg will be Rousey’s opponent at WrestleMania. While that obviously didn’t happen, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that she will never join WWE. She has been linked to the company in recent times and was even seen at the WWE Performance Center in January. All Four Horsewomen of MMA are in WWE now too, so anything can happen.

Rousey, on the other hand, will be defending her Raw Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch in a triple-threat match on WrestleMania 35.

Priscilla Kelly Throws Up On Joey Ryan’s Crotch During Match

When you have Priscilla Kelly and Joey Ryan in the ring at the same time, something like this is bound to happen.

At the Quintessential Pro Wrestling event last night in Las Vegas, Nevada, Joey Ryan faced off against Priscilla Kelly in an inter-gender match.

During the match, Ryan performed an airplane spin on Kelly, and of course, it made her dizzy to the point of vomiting. She pulled Ryan’s trunks and proceeded to vomit all over his crotch – much to the amusement of the fans present.

There’s not a lot to write about and we can’t really say that we didn’t see something like this coming. You can check out the video below:

    https://twitter.com/JoeyRyanOnline/status/1106430824730157061

Priscilla Kelly came on everyone’s radar in January when she did the infamous tampon spot. If you are unaware then it is exactly what it sounds like – she took a tampon from her ring gear and shoved it down her opponent’s throat. The footage went viral and even got attention from mainstream media.

Kelly is proud of her work and says that controversial spots like these don’t worry her about blowing off chances of working with companies like WWE.

  • PCO Says WWE Hall Of Fame Can Wait Until He’s Done Wrestling

PCO Says WWE Hall Of Fame Can Wait Until He’s Done Wrestling

Hardcore wrestler Pierre Carl Ouellet, or PCO who worked in the WWE as one-half of The Quebecers says that WWE’s Hall of Fame is not a big deal for him.

In a recent interview with The Mirror, PCO explains why the Hall of Fame is not a big focus for him.

“I am not big on the Hall of Fame, it is not a big deal for me. It is not something that is really a focus for me right now. Maybe when everything is behind me. I am still very much in to the action right now, so I can’t think about that.”

PCO revived his career as a hardcore wrestler in 2016 with the ‘French Frankenstein’ gimmick and has been on a roll since. The fifty-one-year-old says that he still has a lot to accomplish and the HOF can wait until he’s done with wrestling.

“I have got so many other things that are important and that I want to accomplish. The HOF can wait until my priority list is complete. It’s not that I don’t care about it, but my focus is not there and I wouldn’t see myself going there while I am working somewhere else, that doesn’t make sense to me. This is a subject we will talk about once I am done wrestling.”

    PCO’s Return To Wrestling

PCO announced his retirement from wrestling in early 2011 but came back in 2016 at a Monteregie Wrestling Federation event in Quebec. He wrestled infrequently until he got a huge break from a match in April 2018.

PCO came under the spotlight with his brutal match against WALTER during WrestleMania 34 weekend at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 2. He quickly became one of the hottest acts in the indies which led him to an exclusive contract with Ring of Honor.

PCO signed with ROH in December 2018 and is part of the Villian Enterprises stable with Marty Scrull and Brody King. It doesn’t look like he is going to retire from wrestling soon, and it will be interesting to see where his career goes from here on.

  • PJ Black Talks Signing With ROH Over WWE

PJ Black Talks Signing With ROH Over WWE

PJ Black, also known as Justin Gabriel in WWE, signed an exclusive deal with Ring of Honor a month ago. The former WWE Tag Team Champion spoke to CBS Los Angeles about going with ROH despite having an offer from WWE, among other topics.

Black was asked if there was any persuasion from WWE to have him on board. Black says that didn’t happen because after leaving WWE he was out for a year with the base jumping injury and was nowhere to be seen, and that didn’t instigate enough interest from the company.

“Oh, no pressure at all, because they kind of just remembered me from what I was doing when I was there. And while they did like me and stuff like that, they don’t know the stuff that I’m doing right now. I’ll give you an example, Drew McIntyre, he went back to the indies and just reinvented himself. He did fantastic, and they had to have him back. I was out for a year or two, three years due to a base jumping injury, so I feel like in wrestling, out of sight, out of mind.”

“So they kind of forgot about me, and while they did make a decent offer, it wasn’t strong enough for them and they didn’t force anything on it. Plus, I live in downtown LA, so Survivor Series was in Staples Center, and that’s a block away from my place. So I just walked over one day just to say hi to everyone, and that’s where it all happened. I ran into Vince McMahon, ran into [Triple H], and we started talking. It was never like they kind of reached out first. It was kind of like I was just being at the right place at the right time.”

Black also says that he never told WWE officials that he had other offers on the table. He thinks this might have been the reason WWE didn’t try too much to sign him.

Black added that the money with WWE was decent but not what he expected. Plus, the busy schedule and experience with creative put him off.

The important thing for Black is to show his character to the world, and the freedom with the ROH deal gives him exactly what he wanted.

“A lot of people don’t know who PJ Black is. I’ve been PJ Black for 15 years. Most people just know Justin Gabriel because he was on TV for seven or eight years. It’s very important for me to show the personality and the character of PJ Black, which is completely different to Justin Gabriel. And they give me freedom and that was the main thing. It wasn’t so much booking and stories that they were gonna give me, but they give me freedom to do whatever I want and that’s how you get yourself over. If people tell you what to do, what to say, how long your match should go, then you don’t have a lot of freedom. So, there’s no way for you to get over. For some guys, there is, but for a lot of guys it’s kind of like being handcuffed in a way.”

  • Mick Foley Believes Fans Will Be Upset If Women Don’t Main Event WrestleMania 35

Mick Foley Believes Fans Will Be Upset If Women Don’t Main Event WrestleMania 35

The women’s revolution in WWE has been taking huge steps and breaking down barriers that were unimaginable a few years ago.

From main eventing weekly shows to main eventing PPVs, to having their own Royal Rumble, to having their dedicated PPV event, women’s wrestling in WWE has come a long way.

However, one thing that’s still remaining for the women’s locker room to achieve is to main event the Grandest Stage Of Them All, WrestleMania.

Female WWE stars have been very vocal about the possibility to be on the highlighting match of WrestleMania 35, and WWE Legend Mick Foley seems to think the same too.

Foley says that if the Raw Women’s Championship match between Charlotte Flair, champion Ronda Rousey, and Becky Lynch doesn’t headline WrestleMania this year then fans are not going to take it too well.

“I believe the women are going to main-event WrestleMania this year and if they don’t, I think there’ll be a mass exodus of people from around the world,” he told Sky Sports.

Foley also believes that Lynch has earned her place to be in the spotlight.

“I believe their time has come. Becky Lynch has succeeded in becoming the biggest name in our business and I think that’s great.”

“She’s a good friend, she’s a wonderful person and it couldn’t happen to a nicer lass.”

Foley thinks that there is a lot of potential in the match with what Rousey is doing and how Lynch took steps to change her career and likens her to ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

“I see it being an exciting match; Ronda is going out on a limb to create this really dislikeable persona and I think it works. I go back to my messages about eight or nine months ago and when she came to me for some advice I told her to be patient and to be ready. Then when she got the opportunity, she ran with it like nobody I’ve ever seen, like ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.”

  • Roman Reigns Talks About Protecting His Daughter During Leukemia Battle

Roman Reigns Talks About Protecting His Daughter During Leukemia Battle

Roman Reigns’ big concern during his battle with leukemia was protecting his daughter from the opinions of internet users.

During an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Reigns said that he didn’t want his daughter to read any false reports or opinions about his condition being faked for a storyline. He wanted his daughter to hear the news directly from him.

“I’ve been with my wife since college, so she has been through this whole process with me,” Reigns said. “My big concern was my daughter, who is 11. So she’s right at that age where she’s hearing all those misguided opinions and hearing different things from different people. I thought that as long as she hears it from me, ‘This is what is going on with Dad, and I don’t want you to worry,’ that she would be OK. And she’s been great.”

Reigns also said that he is used to putting his family’s safety first. But he also expanded on it saying that he’s learned that it is okay to sometimes put yourself first when it comes to health so that you are better able to take care of family again.

“It’s hard, because as fathers and providers we want to protect. I’m so used to putting them in front of me and putting everyone first and making sure everything is OK. I learned it’s OK to sometimes put ourselves first when it comes to our health because then we can get healthy and take care of everyone else again.”

Since then, Roman is officially back in WWE after his treatment. It will be interesting to see how Reigns goes on from here towards WrestleMania 35.

“Today I had the opportunity to wrestle for the first time at Full Sail for WWE NXT after years of dreaming of it! Wow, it was everything I had imagined it would be!!!? Of course, with this job comes occupational hazards. Unfortunately, I broke my wrist mid-match & will require surgery first thing tomorrow morning. It sucks. I’m upset, I’m angry, I’m sore… but I’ll be back soon. This is just a tiny bump in the road to many goals I have set for 2019!”

It’s an unfortunate setback for the talented performer. However, it seems like she is keeping a good attitude about things.

  • Lacey Evans On How Her Time With The Marines Prepared Her For WWE

Lacey Evans On How Her Time With The Marines Prepared Her For WWE

Lacey Evans says that her time working with the Marine Corps prepared her to work in an environment full of stress like the WWE.

Speaking with The Peoria Journal, Evans talked about the guts it takes to perform in front of large crowds and how nerve-wracking it was for her to perform in the Royal Rumble.

“It takes a lot of nerves to be a sports entertainer and to be in front of those big crowds. The military and the Marine Corps prepared me to be numb to the stress.”

“It nerve-wracking. I was the first one out, and even had a promo,” Evans said about the Royal Rumble match. “It was so much fun. It had a huge crowd, and what an experience.”

Lacey also revealed that she travels to almost every show with her six-year-old daughter Summer and her husband.

“She travels to almost every show with me and my husband,” Evans said. “She tells everyone who will listen that her mother is in the WWE. They are my biggest supporters.”

Evans will be facing Nikki Cross at the Peoria Civic Center on this Sunday in a live event. Evans said that while Cross can do anything unexpected, she herself is the classiest star in the WWE.

“She’s (Cross) is full of chaos and has no discipline. She’s insane,” Evans said. “There’s no telling what she will do. We are such polar opposites. I’m the classiest superstar ever in the WWE.”

  • Dash Wilder On Main Roster vs. NXT, Injuries Killing Revival’s Momentum

Dash Wilder On Main Roster vs. NXT, Injuries Killing Revival’s Momentum

The current one-half of the Raw Tag Team Champions, Dash Wilder of The Revival moved to the main roster with his partner Scott Dawson in April of 2017.

The Revival answered an open challenge by The New Day on Raw and defeated them. This would start their journey on the main roster which was full of ups and downs, mainly due to injuries.

A lot of fans have trouble understanding their favorites from NXT underperforming in the main roster. Wilder addressed this difference seen in their performances and tried to look at the potential causes for it while speaking to talkSPORT.

“Oh man, I wish I understood! There’s just so much that goes into the Raw side of it, the SmackDown side of it and NXT side. In NXT, you have a little bit more time to get things situated and to build stuff and get everything flowing in the right direction whereas Mondays and Tuesdays, everything is very hectic and can change in an instant. So it’s always kind of flowing and moving. I thought around that time period [NXT TakeOver: Orlando/WrestleMania 33] we were at our most popular and it worked out really well for us with the debut against New Day and everything. The fans were really good for it.”

Wilder fractured his jaw shortly after his Raw match with The New Day which kept him out of action for eight weeks. Bad news followed the duo as Dawson tore his right bicep a month after Wilder’s injury. Dawson was out of action for five months. Wilder says these injuries really killed their momentum and the reason why the casual crowd took a longer time to get behind them.

“I feel like the injuries back-to-back – one to me, one to Dawson – that obviously put a big bump in the road for us and took away a lot of the momentum, but at the same time, the crowds are a little bit different. NXT, for the most part, their crowds are a little more die-hard and a little more ‘in the know’ I guess? Whereas Monday’s and Tuesday’s, they reach out to a broader audience, a more casual audience. They still come out and have fun and enjoy it, but they don’t know as much about NXT or TakeOver: Orlando as they do about the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania. So it’s just getting those guys established and things going the right way.”

“And then Dawson tore his bicep a month after I came back. So within three months, we had two pretty significant injuries and that really hurt. The first one, we were still around, we were still on TV. The second one was a little bit longer, more rehab for Dawson and that one hurt a lot because we were going to work The Hardyz at SummerSlam and get that opportunity the NXT guys are getting now and there’s nothing you can do about it – it’s out of your hands.”

Wilder also talks about the idea they pitched for WrestleMania 35, what he wants to see in WWE’s tag team division and more. You can read the entire interview by clicking here.
