Dolph Ziggler Criticizes WWE Production Team For Missing Royal Rumble Moment

WWE SmackDown Superstar Dolph Ziggler has called out WWE’s production team for missing a crucial Royal Rumble moment. Ziggler would be the first Superstar to receive a spear from Edge, who made his return during the event. Unfortunately, this moment was missed on screen as the production team cut to shots of the crowd.

    Dolph Ziggler’s Disappointment

Taking to Twitter, Ziggler initially criticized the team. He asked, “who cuts away from an official in-ring return, while two opponents are running towards each other?”

He followed up with a more understanding take, acknowledging how people make mistakes. Regardless, he noted how a “very special moment was inexplicably missed” because of it.

    Unseen Footage

WWE has since uploaded a video titled “Unseen footage of Edge’s Royal Rumble return on WWE Network” to their YouTube channel.

Unsurprisingly, this footage showcases a different angle to Edge’s return. The video captures not only Edge’s emotional return, but also the full impact of Dolph Ziggler receiving the spear. This spear was the first the Rated-R Superstar delivered as an active in-ring competitor in 9 years.

Last night on Monday Night RAW, Edge’s former Rated-RKO tag team partner Randy Orton would brutally assault him. The attack came after Orton proposed a team reunion, before striking with an RKO. He proceeded to attack a defenseless Edge with a steel chair.

Charlotte Flair Discusses Women’s Royal Rumble Victory (Video)

Following her victory in the Women’s Royal Rumble matchup, Charlotte Flair took part in a WWE.com exclusive interview.

When asked how it feels to call herself the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble winner, Flair shared how she keeps replaying the 2019 Rumble match in her head “over and over.” Last year, she would be eliminated by “The Man” Becky Lynch, securing Lynch’s championship opportunity at WrestleMania 35.

“It’s one of those things,” Flair said. “I’m glad it happened, because sometimes you gotta fall and, I don’t know… standing there after feeling like you’ve lost your confidence being like ‘No, I’m Charlotte Flair. This is my division. And there’s only one Queen.’ I just reminded everyone again who I am.”

She continued, “I didn’t see 29 competitors out there, I saw 29 numbers. When they look at me, all they see is the Queen. […] I didn’t really have a strategy. I just went in there knowing who I am, and I’m a winner, and I’m not going to let someone else take my moment ever again.”

    Charlotte Flair’s Championship Choice

Turning her attention towards whom she may be challenging at WrestleMania 36, Flair teased an impending clash with the women who eliminated her from last year’s Rumble:

“Since Bayley can only beat me when I’m unconscious—if anyone remembers Money in the Bank—and…well, if I was Becky, I’d be scared.”

When asked how she intended to celebrate her victory, Flair deferred to her championship choice. She mentioned she would make tonight on Monday Night RAW.

The Briscoe Brothers Announce They Have Re-Signed With Ring Of Honor (Video)

The Briscoe Brothers aren’t going anywhere. Mark and Jay Briscoe have revealed via Twitter that they have officially re-signed with Ring of Honor (ROH). Leaning against a pickup truck, the two discuss their contract status with ROH:

“Y’all probably don’t know this, because we don’t really talk about this type of s—. But our ROH deals are up in just a couple of months. And now everybody is wanting to know ‘what’s next?’” Jay said.

He noted how they have done it all as a team in the promotion as his brother Mark took over. Mark highlighted their notable accolades as Tag Team of the Year and Tag Team of the Decade. He then stressed how they are eleven-time tag team champions.

    Briscoe Brothers Want 12

Taking his hat off to display the embroidered “11X” on the back, Jay asked his brother “What comes after 11?”

He continued, “12 is next. We Dem Boys. What the hell we look like, trying to win somebody else’s damn tag team titles? We Dem Boys, we re-signed with ROH, we ain’t going no-damn-where, so let the ass whooping’s continue to commence.”

As noted, the Briscoe Brothers have won the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championships 11 times. Outside their team, Jay Briscoe is a two-time ROH World Champion. They have also won the ROH World Six-Man Championships alongside Bully Ray. The duo recently lost the ROH Tag Team Championships to Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham at Final Battle 2019.

With this re-signing, they join PJ Black, Josh Woods, Bandido and Villain Enterprises’ Marty Scurll in their decision to stay with the company.

Cody Rhodes Talks About Sharing The Ring With The Undertaker During 2008 Royal Rumble

All Elite Wrestling’s Cody Rhodes was a recent guest on Inside the Ropes. During the interview, he reflected on seizing an opportunity to share some time with WWE Legend The Undertaker during the 2008 Royal Rumble matchup.

    Cody Rhodes’ Chance

Cody recalled how, upon entering the Rumble matchup, The Undertaker was isolated in the corner with no other Superstars around him. Grabbing his chance to have some time with “The Dead Man,” Rhodes decided he was going to go after him. He proceeded to hit him as hard as he could to the back of his head, causing The Undertaker to turn and level a glare on him.

This led to a back-and-forth between the two. ‘Taker would grab Cody by the neck before being told what to do next.

“I kick him in the knee and he goes ‘dropkick me’! I get so excited, I jump up, I dropkick him and he takes a bump!” Cody said. “You can see I didn’t know what to do, the goal is to get the guy out of the match but I’m not going to pick him up, so I just stood there and then went into the corner and started fake punching someone else.”

Cody had high praise for The Undertaker, sharing how he loves everything the Legend does for the business. He noted how “Everything about this guy is about giving back. He really did not need to do that.”

WALTER Discusses His Pro Wrestling Goals, Dream Opponents

WWE NXT UK United Kingdom Champion WALTER has opened up about his goals in pro wrestling. He also shared who he considers his current dream opponents.

Speaking with ESPN, WALTER revealed how his main drive is to represent professional wrestling “in the right way.” For him, this translates to spreading its message in the most “effective” way possible. He asserted that to do this, he needs to be in the top spot.

Looking back at establishing himself in that top spot, WALTER points to his recent domination in NXT UK:

“My debut for WWE in Blackpool last January at NXT UK Takeover, I think that was a good moment, because it felt like all of the things I did before paid off. From there on, things just took off.”

    WALTER’s Dream Opponents

When it comes to dream matches for the big Austrian, there are plenty of Superstars fans might pair him with. For WALTER, however, two names top the list: Daniel Bryan and Cesaro.

“[…] they’ve always put on very athletic and competitive matches, they’re proper, wrestling-based opponents,” he explained. “I’ve always appreciated that and have been excited about watching them.

Although WALTER was not a part of last night’s Royal Rumble matchup, he was asked about how he would have felt if WWE offered him a spot. He felt that he couldn’t answer the question, but noted that if WWE had asked him, he would “definitely” have accepted the opportunity.

WALTER and his Imperium teammates recently defeated NXT’s Undisputed Era during Saturday’s Worlds Collide event. Unfortunately, Alexander Wolfe was knocked out during their clash. Wolfe took to Twitter after the incident to let the WWE Universe that he’s alright, thanking the officials for taking care of him.

  • Drew McIntyre Reflects On His Men’s Royal Rumble Victory

Drew McIntyre Reflects On His Men’s Royal Rumble Victory

Last night, RAW Superstar Drew McIntyre emerged victorious from the 2020 Royal Rumble matchup. The opportunity to compete at WrestleMania came down to McIntyre and Roman Reigns. After his win, he caught up with Charly Caruso backstage for a WWE.com exclusive interview.

    Drew McIntyre Dedicates His Win

When asked how he felt having won the Royal Rumble for the first time, and earning his championship opportunity, an emotional McIntyre replied:

“I can’t find the words, there’s literally no words. The past 18 years, the past 12 years in America, every up, every down, every single second was worth it after that moment when I threw Roman out and I heard 40,000 people react the way they reacted, and I’m going to WrestleMania.”

He continued, “The first person that came to mind was my wife. You don’t really think about it when you’re on the road—the fans don’t—but we’re away from our family all the time. You know, they endure as much as we endure on the road, and we give so much of ourselves to the fans, and we give it willingly, this is our dream. You know, and they’re the ones holding the fort at home. So, this one’s for her, and I’m going to WrestleMania.”

    McIntyre’s Choice

Drew McIntyre now has a choice as to which championship he wishes to contend for. He recently expressed his interest in facing WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. It’s worth noting that McIntyre eliminated a dominant Lesnar from last night’s Rumble after entering the fray.

“If I won the Rumble, it’s the same guy I’ve had in mind for years. I’d fight Brock Lesnar in a second,” McIntyre declared. “A lot of people on the roster genuinely wouldn’t want to get in the ring with him. They are terrified of the idea. I want to get in the ring with him. I know we could put on a heck of a spectacle and a fight.”

“Bianca Belair can go and get in line with the rest of them. Because I picked up the NXT Women’s Championship, and I held it up, and it looked good,” Storm said. “And all that is is just a little preview to what’s going to happen at Worlds Collide. And I can’t wait to step in the ring with Rhea Ripley and make some magic.”

Storm’s match this week ended in disqualification thanks to Belair. Ripley would quickly insert herself into the fray before Shirai took both her and Belair out. After having defeated Roderick Strong for the NXT North American Championship on this week’s episode of NXT, Keith Lee took part in an exclusive interview with WWE.com.

“Let me educate you on something about Keith Lee. If you saw the battle that happened out there: four men trying to take down one Limitless specimen—a deity if you will—then you see the result,” Lee said, looking towards his championship.

“All it takes is an opportunity. Cap off? No, sir, I’m just getting started. You see, now there was a great end to 2019. A fantastic beginning to the year 2020, but we don’t stop here,” Lee said. “Every day is a grind. Every day we become better than the day before. Alex Riley Opens Up About Negative Relationship With John Cena

Former WWE Superstar Alex Riley has opened up about the issues between himself and John Cena. Speaking candidly with Chris Van Vliet, Riley reflected on how the problems between himself and Cena stemmed from “two men just not liking each other.”

“As sad as that is, it had an impact on my career because he is who he is,” Riley explained. “I just happened to be in a situation where, right from the start, it was just … he didn’t like me. I just don’t think he did. I tried to change that the best I could. I worked very hard and tried to do the best I could to grow and learn and fit in in the way a wrestler fits in and he wanted me to fit in. It just kinda got to the point where, a little bit, even some of the other guys would kinda be like, ‘what’s up with that?’ ‘I don’t know.’ So it was a tough situation.”

Alex Riley & John Cena’s Argument

Riley shared an occasion between them where a mistake was made. He couldn’t remember who had made the mistake itself but confessed that they subsequently got into a “little bit of an argument.” Trying to make amends, Riley explained how he went straight to Cena the next day to try and apologize.

He believed that Cena was offended by what had transpired. Riley reiterated that their working relationship boiled down to “two grown men that just didn’t see eye-to-eye at the time.” He added that he isn’t holding on to any grudges as he isn’t interested in having things like that hang over him.

Riley was a part of NXT in 2010 before his main roster association with The Miz. He was with WWE until he was released from his contract in 2016.

  • Charlotte Flair On Evolution II, Not Talking About “The Business” With Ric Flair

Charlotte Flair On Evolution II, Not Talking About “The Business” With Ric Flair

WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair recently spoke with Digital Spy. During the interview, she was asked about whether WWE needed to host a follow up to 2018’s Evolution. For her, it’s not necessarily about standing out because it’s an all-female event. Although she is a fan of the concept, she would rather put on the most memorable match, regardless of whether the show features men and women or just women.

“I’m a huge fan of Evolution,” Charlotte said. “But I also think there’s something to whether we have an all-female Pay-Per-View or not. I’m a firm believer that I want to be on the card with men going, ‘I’m going to have the best match.’ So do I want Evolution? Yes, but if it’s something that doesn’t happen again I’m not opposed to it because I want to go, ‘Okay, I had the best match out of any male or female on the roster.’”

Charlotte Flair On Her TakeOver Turning Point

Charlotte also divulged her and her father, Ric Flair, hardly spoke about wrestling when she first began pursuing it as a career. According to Charlotte, Ric never talked about the business with her. That all changed, however, after her matchup against Natalya at NXT TakeOver in 2014.

“When I first started (wrestling) there was really no communication,” she said. “He didn’t talk about the business with me. I just don’t think he ever saw the women in that light. Then when he came to my Takeover match with Natalya he was like, ‘Oh wow.’

She continued,” After that, he knew I was all on board because I had never said, ‘Hey dad, I want to be a WWE Superstar.’ It was something my brothers aspired to be. So I think when he was like, ‘Oh, wow, she’s serious about this and is good.’ That’s when our relationship and bond about the business took off.”

Charlotte Flair is one of the 30 participants in this Sunday’s women’s Royal Rumble event. The show takes place from Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.

  • Moose Discusses Evolving His Character, New Attitude

Moose Discusses Evolving His Character, New Attitude

Impact Wrestling star Moose has addressed the evolution of his character since his debut with the company in 2016. Speaking during a recent media scrum, Moose confessed how he was too “comfortable” with his character and style when he first arrived. However, it got to a point where, if he wanted to take the next step, he was advised he would have to change his approach.

“I have so much more to give to pro wrestling that the old Moose wasn’t doing. My new attitude just shows how much charisma I have. I get to talk a bit more on the mic and it shows my presence in the ring and my swag. So I felt like it was the right move for me to make to grow as a professional wrestler.”

He continued,” I think me, Quinn Ojinnaka which is my real name, is a really fun guy to be around. I’m a fun guy like Kawhi Leonard says. People like to be around me and I’m charismatic. I felt like when I first got to Impact I was trying to be this tough guy and I’ll kick your ass. I feel like wrestling in 2020, everybody is a tough guy. One thing I’ve been doing lately is going to the archives and watching old wrestling from 1990-92 and there wasn’t a lot of tough guys. There were a lot more characters and there’s not a lot of character-driven guys in wrestling in 2020.”

    Moose’s Turning Point

Moose shared how his evolution began after he told himself that he didn’t want to be a “tough guy” anymore. Instead, he wanted to fuse his in-ring ability with more personality, allowing him to show his swagger and have more fun.

Moose recently competed at Impact Wrestling’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view. He defeated Rhino in a No Disqualification matchup.

Andrade Shares His Initial Frustrations In WWE’s Performance Center

Current WWE United States Champion Andrade and his fiancee Charlotte Flair were recent guests on Seconds Out. During the conversation, Andrade spoke about how he didn’t have much difficulty adjusting to WWE’s in-ring style. He credited his international experience with helping him make the adjustments. Andrade did, however, share some frustrations he experienced during his time in WWE’s Performance Center.

    Andrade’s WWE PC Frustrations

Andrade confessed that he had difficulty with WWE’s demanding schedule. He compared it to his time wrestling on the indies and in Mexico, explaining how “you have your time” there. However, upon signing with WWE and moving to America, you’re suddenly locked into their regimented schedule, where “[…] you need to go the gym, you need promo, you need all this schedule. I don’t like schedules.”

Having had years of experience before stepping into a WWE ring, Andrade admitted he had problems attending lessons covering the basics:

“When you would workout with the guys who have never wrestled in their life? I’ve been wrestling for nine years in this moment and some of these guys don’t know a wrist lock, or waist lock, or head lock,” Andrade explained. “I stay in the corner and say, ‘Ugh! Three hours?’ Because the class is three hours.”

He continued,” I have to stay in the ring because I’m learning headlocks, or a spot, or a little wrestling. And I’ll say, ‘Okay, Norman Smiley, next.’ People are standing in the ring while he says, ‘A headlock is this, a headlock is this, a headlock is this.’ Norman Smiley keeps saying wait, wait, and he understands because he speaks Spanish and says, ‘Hey, tranquilo, tranquilo, tranquilo, relax, wait, wait.’”

“After that, you stay in promo class and between promo class with the English and Spanish,” Andrade continued. “Sometimes when I have my English class, I don’t get home until like 5 or 6 PM when I start my day at 8 AM. I think, ‘Oh, I’m so tired.’ From Monday to Thursday or Friday for one year? Whew, I’m so tired. It was a hard time for me but for now, I’m here. I have a beautiful lady that’s a superstar, my belt, and a good life.”

Andrade is scheduled to defend his United States Championship this Sunday at Royal Rumble against Humberto Carrillo. He recently retained his championship against Rey Mysterio in a Ladder Match.

PJ Black Reportedly Signs New Multi-Year Deal With Ring Of Honor

“The Darewolf” PJ Black has reportedly re-signed with Ring of Honor (ROH). Black has been competing for the promotion under a one-year deal but has allegedly signed a new multi-year deal with the company. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Black’s new contract was signed right before his previous contract expired. He made his ROH debut last year during their Survival of the Fittest tournament.

    PJ Black’s “No-Brainer” Decision

Black was previously offered an opportunity to return to WWE. He shared how he was offered the same amount of money as ROH. However, he would be required to compete for approximately 200 additional shows. Black noted how by staying with ROH, he’s been afforded creative freedom. This extends to his life inside and outside of the ring, which played an important factor in his choice. He ultimately declined WWE so he could continue his career in ROH, a decision he referred to as a “no-brainer.”

PJ Black is aligned with the Lifeblood stable. He is currently involved in a storyline where he is attempting to mentor ROH talent Brian Johnson.

The news comes in the wake of other notable stars choosing to stay. Other names include Bandido, Josh Woods and Villain Enterprises’ Marty Scurll, who will also shoulder new responsibilities as ROH’s co-booker. Before signing with ROH, the former WWE Superstar wrestled across several promotions including Lucha Underground, NWA and even TNA/Impact Wrestling.

Corey Graves Thinks Matt Hardy Would Be A “Great Addition” To WWE’s Creative Team

WWE SmackDown commentator Corey Graves has addressed Matt Hardy’s recent tweets. Hardy has been hinting that his time in WWE may be coming to an end. Speaking on his podcast, After The Bell, Graves shared how he would love Hardy to stay in WWE. He pitched how he would be a “great addition” to WWE’s creative team.

Corey Graves Wants Matt Hardy To Stay In WWE

Graves praised Hardy as a “master of being creative and creating doubt and raising questions amongst the Internet wrestling community.” He added how he hopes that Hardy doesn’t leave WWE as, on a personal level, he considered him a friend and great person.

“I also want to know why someone as creatively gifted as Matt Hardy isn’t asked or invited to contribute in a creative role,” Graves stated. “I don’t know that he’s been vocal about that anywhere but in the television locker room where we sit and complain about life, but I think Matt Hardy would be a great addition to the creative end of things here in WWE.”

He continued, “We’ve seen what he is capable of on his own outside of WWE and within and I mean, the guy’s resume speaks for itself. It’s not like you’re hiring some guy off the street who went to theater school, this is Matt freakin’ Hardy – one half of one of the greatest tag teams of all time. The guy is awesome. He is of great value and importance in my opinion.”

    “Do Right By Matt”

Corey Graves noted how he hasn’t spoken with Hardy recently and isn’t even sure what he might want for himself.

Regardless, he wants to make sure they “do right by Matt.” For him, that would include Hardy finding his place in WWE and embracing it. Graves then stressed that WWE needs to “find a better role for Matt Hardy because we want him.”

WWE SmackDown Superstar Carmella has opened up about what helped influence her Staten Island accent. Speaking with The Wrap, Carmella revealed how she wanted her character to originally come from Boston. However, after discovering that Sasha Banks was from there, she made the decision that her character should come from Staten Island instead. Turns out that Carmella drew inspiration from several TV shows to help her hone her accent.

“I was religiously watching ‘Mob Wives’ and ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey,’” she said. “Man, I just did so much character research — ‘The Sopranos,’ everything.”

Carmella continued, “It’s funny, the Impractical Jokers, Sal and [Brian ‘Q’ Quinn] and them, they’re from Staten Island, obviously. And they’re like ‘Oh my gosh, you do that so good!’ And that makes me feel good. I’m like cool, I can convince people from Staten Island that I’m from Staten Island.”

Carmella recently had a run with R-Truth as a comedic double act, mostly centered around the WWE 24/7 Championship. Bully Ray Believes Chris Jericho And Jon Moxley Bring “Main Event Level Storytelling” To AEW

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has high praise for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) stars Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley. During a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray stated how the two are delivering “main event level storytelling” to AEW.

“They have me interested in their storyline. I mean, it’s impossible not [to be] if you have Moxley and Jericho. They’re good—they’re not good storytellers, they’re great storytellers, they’re great wrestlers, they’re great performers, they’re great entertainers” Bully Ray said. “You don’t work in the WWE at main event levels if you’re not and they’re bringing that main event level storytelling and performing to AEW.”

His co-host, David LaGreca, then juxtaposed their feud with how the Heenan family’s rivalry with Hulk Hogan. He speculated that Jericho will throw all of his Inner Circle members at Jon Moxley in the hope that Moxley won’t make it to their pay-per-view matchup in February.

“He [Moxley] could always run through everybody, and then they beat him down, they re-injure the eye. Just layer up the story until they get to the eventual match. Does Moxley win his first attempt? Who knows. I think AEW has done a good enough job with their storytelling to keep us on our toes where we’re not quite sure who’s going to win.”

Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley face off for the AEW World Championship at AEW Revolution. Moxley won the opportunity after defeating PAC during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. The pay-per-view takes place on February 29th at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

In a video uploaded to the WWE Performance Center YouTube channel, Catanzaro discusses her hiatus away from the black-and-gold brand. At the time, several reports were suggesting Catanzaro would be leaving WWE due to an injury. Whilst away, she remained under contract with the promotion, who never publicly acknowledged her employment status.

    Kacy Catanzaro’s Mindset

During the video, Catanzaro opened up about the doubt she had regarding being a part of WWE. Where she had other viable options, including gymnastics and American Ninja Warrior, she wasn’t confident in her decision to be a part of the company.

“Coming into something new like this, I think that it is fair to have moments when you’re not sure. You know, physically, mentally I wasn’t sure this was the right place for me,” Catanzaro confessed.

During Kacy Catanzaro’s time away from NXT, she was able to rehab and take care of herself both physically and mentally. Catanzaro admitted how she did some “soul searching” that, ultimately, led her back to WWE. Armed with this new mindset, she is excited to see what she can achieve during this next chapter of her wrestling career, admitting she missed the feeling of competing and the reactions of the NXT fans.

Nikki Cross Talks About Marriage, Alexa Bliss, And Inspiring Others

Nikki Cross was recently interviewed by The Scottish Sun. During their conversation, she was asked about her marriage to NXT Superstar Killian Dain. She also addressed her partnership with Alexa Bliss, and what it’s like to have inspired others.

    Marriage

Regarding her marriage, Cross admitted how both of them being in the business has been beneficial to their relationship. She noted that their fundamental understanding of the industry helps them make “sacrifices that are necessary.”

“The way we look at it, one day we will be 60 years old and be together every night,” Cross explained. “But we met through wrestling, love wrestling and understand that we’re both on the most amazing journey right now.”

She continued, “It helps a lot because there are times where one of us will leave for 10 days and we don’t see each other. He is in Florida and I’m on the road with Smackdown so it’s important when we do have time together we make sure it is quality time connecting and talking. I always have loads to catch him up on.”

Nikki Cross’ 2020 Goals & Inspiring Others

Cross reflected on how last year was “incredible” for her. She highlighted her partnership both on-screen and in real life with Alexa Bliss, sharing how they’ve become “really, really good friends.” Cross noted how her main goal for their team this year is to recapture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

On being a role model, Cross brought up other Scottish Superstars like Piper Niven and Kay Lee Ray. She spoke with pride about the women’s Evolution show and how she is thrilled that she can help inspire girls and Superstars.

“When I broke into wrestling there were lots of women I’d look up to. There are so many women from other generations that helped us get to this stage and contributed so much. And now it has got to the point where we’ve had a women’s only pay-per-view and see multiple matches on each show. It’s an empowering feeling and I’m so happy that girls can be inspired by that.”

Nikki Cross will be one of the competitors in this Sunday’s 30-woman Royal Rumble matchup.

  • Baron Corbin Discusses His Feud With Roman Reigns, Going “Old School”

Baron Corbin Discusses His Feud With Roman Reigns, Going “Old School”

WWE Superstar Baron Corbin has reflected on his feud with Roman Reigns. During the rivalry, Corbin utilized a can of real dog food, dunking its contents over “The Big Dog.” Speaking with the Houston Chronicle, Corbin talked about how doing so was a “blast” for him.

    Old School

Corbin spoke about the pride he takes in playing the bad guy, helping the WWE Universe get behind babyfaces like Roman Reigns. He stated how “Every once in a while you used to get the ‘Let’s go Roman,’ ‘Roman Sucks’ chants. Now, no one is saying ‘Roman sucks.’ It is always ‘Corbin sucks.’”

When asked about a rivalry highlight, Corbin shared how “covering him in dog food was a blast aside from the smell – it got on me as well. But that level of guttural hatred that I heard when we were doing it was awesome and the moment was right. I think it was old school and it was just nasty. And I think outside the box. It was a lot of fun to do.”

    Baron Corbin’s Royal Rumble Thoughts

With WWE’s Royal Rumble match coming up this Sunday, Corbin was asked about the 30-man match. He confessed he likes competing in the Rumble as it “keeps you on your toes.”

“There are so things that go awry and stuff like that when you have so many competitors in the ring and it’s exciting and stressful but it’s fun. You have to keep your head on a swivel because you don’t always know who’s coming out next and whatever it may be. You have 29 other people trying to get rid of you. I think it’s awesome. It’s just a huge overload of stress and excitement and that’s what makes it fun.”

Baron Corbin faces Roman Reigns in a Falls Count Anywhere match this Sunday at Royal Rumble. The event takes place at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.

Nick Aldis On NWA’s Championship Credibility, Working With AEW

National Wrestling Alliance World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis recently spoke with Sports Illustrated. During their conversation, Aldis addressed NWA’s championship credibility. He also broached the possibility of a working relationship between NWA and All Elite Wrestling.

“The NWA has proven that people wanted to take this world championship seriously again,” Aldis said. “The credibility was given to me by all the men who held the title before I did, and I represent the qualities and attributes that people identify with as world champion.

Nick Aldis On NWA Working With AEW

Nick Aldis then addressed the idea of the NWA and AEW working together. He stated how the idea is brought up “almost daily.”

“The NWA is open to working with anyone. There are a number of wrestlers outside the WWE that are viewed as elite-level guys, so it’s only a matter of time before the audience starts demanding the main-event matches they want to see. We want to give the fans the matches they want to see, these super fights.”

He continued, “If AEW wants to be involved in big, marquee matches, then they have two choices: go out and write some more big checks to some more guys, or they’re going to have to come to the table and work out some super fights with the NWA.”

NWA’s next pay-per-view, Hard Times, will take place this Friday from GPB Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Nick Aldis is set to compete against Ring of Honor’s Flip Gordon in an inter-promotional matchup.

  • Daniel Bryan On Why WWE Asked Him To Stop Talking About The Environment

Daniel Bryan On Why WWE Asked Him To Stop Talking About The Environment

When SmackDown Superstar Daniel Bryan last held the WWE Championship, he unveiled a new hemp version of the title. He also adopted the moniker: “The Planet’s Champion.” In an interview with MySanAntonio.com, Bryan recalled his eco-movement heel, and how at one point he was asked by WWE to stop talking about the environment. He also detailed how he intends to have a range of eco-friendly merchandise created.

    Daniel Bryan’s Guilt

Bryan spoke of his guilt in “the amount of stuff that I’ve specifically sold to people.” He used his “Planet’s Champion” gimmick as a reason to avoid wearing a shirt to the ring, noting how “that’s one of the things that I can criticize other people for — they’re just out there for other people’s money.”

“Now that I’m a good guy again, they’re like, ‘Well, we’d really like you to wear a shirt, and let’s get back to making T-shirts for you again.’ I was like, ‘Well, I don’t really want to do that.’ And so now I’m working with them about that, and the next Daniel Bryan shirts are going to be made out of recycled materials,” he explained. “And I think five plastic water bottles will be used for every shirt. So they’ll be made out of plastic water bottles and recycled materials and that, to me, is cool, and that’s something that’s a good-guy thing that’s also kind of environmentally friendly.”

Daniel Bryan is also lobbying for a tree planting initiative. If Bryan can achieve this, every shirt that is sold will see a tree planted. He noted how WWE was “balking a little bit on that.” Bryan stressed how he’s not interested in making money on these t-shirts, but if there has to be merchandise, he wants it to make a positive impact.

    Being Told To Stop

“When I was doing the environmental thing, they actually told me to stop talking about the environment because they told me it was a political issue and we don’t want to deal with politics,” Bryan stated.

He continued, “I said, ‘It’s not a political issue. It’s a scientific issue, and the sciences pretty much prove it.’ So rather than looking at it from a right or left point of view, let’s look at it as, ‘Hey, improving the environment is a bulletproof idea to improve all of our children’s lives.’ And I think that’s also something that people can get behind, too. But how you do that in a wrestling format? I have no idea.”

Daniel Bryan is set to face off against “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. The two compete this Sunday at Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship in a Strap match.

  • Daniel Bryan On Evolving His Character, Going Back To ‘Yes’ Chants

Daniel Bryan On Evolving His Character, Going Back To ‘Yes’ Chants

Daniel Bryan has opened up about his initial trepidation in returning to his babyface persona and once again using the ‘Yes’ chant. Speaking with My San Antonio, Bryan detailed why he didn’t feel “ready” to become that character again, noting how he feels he and Sami Zayn also have “unfinished business.”

“I honestly wasn’t really ready to go back to the ‘yes’ chants yet,” Bryan confessed. “I was really enjoying the stuff that I was doing as the ‘Planet’s Champion’ and environmentalist type of stuff. But sometimes you do what duty calls for, right? There’s the switch, and I still enjoy doing that.”

He continued, “But it’s weird, because it almost feels a little bit unfinished. We were starting a story with me and Sami Zayn, and to me that was very compelling. It was, ‘Do you want to go backward with these people and go back to being the ‘yes’ guy, or do you want to go forward with us?’ And to me, that’s a very interesting real question in my life and in my career. Do you want to go back to this? It’s easy to get reactions as the ‘yes’ guy and be the guy who goes out there and does the ‘yes’ chants. Or do I want to push things forward?”

    Daniel Bryan’s Drive To Evolve

Bryan explained how, although he was willing to embrace the ‘Yes’ chant again, he enjoys pushing his own creative boundaries. Because of this, he didn’t want to return to what he’s done. Instead, he wanted to push it forward and evolve it. He noted how he’s enjoyed working with “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt, especially “this idea that he legitimately changes characters on TV. I think that’s a very compelling story.”

Daniel Bryan takes on “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt for the WWE Universal Championship this Sunday at Royal Rumble. The event takes place from Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.

Konnan Addresses Recent Altercation With Psicosis II

Konnan has addressed the physical altercation that took recently took place between himself and Psicosis II—who is not the Psicosis who wrestled in WCW and WWE. The incident occurred outside of a taping for Impact Wrestling in Mexico, with Psicosis II approaching and then slapping Konnan. Konnan, however, did not retaliate following the attack.

Speaking on his podcast, Keepin’ it 100, Konnan explained how the issues between them stem from Psicosis II supposedly working stiff with the original Psicosis. Konnan and Psicosis II would trade barbed words on social media, which angered Psicosis II enough to confront Konnan and lead to their exchange.

“Now I see he’s with other guys, so I’m kinda looking around and thinking, ‘bro, is this guy gonna actually jump me here with these guys?’ While I’m kinda looking out of my peripheral and I’m trying to defuse the situation, he slaps me,” Konnan explained. “I’m thinking real quick for that split second, ‘bro, if I hit him, I KNOW I’m gonna get jumped.’ I just know I am, I just feel it.”

Konnan continued, “If we would’ve been one-on-one, I would’ve punched the sh*t out of him. I’m thinking in that moment, let me get out of here so I can get into the dressing room and I can get everyone out.”

Speaking with Cultaholic while promoting WWE’s move to BT Sport in the United Kingdom, Sheamus shared how the team had achieved all they could do as a team, leaving them without much new territory to explore.

“Well, me and Cesaro have achieved everything there is to do. We’re five-time tag champs; I think The Bar is something, it’s like, we have cemented our legacies as The Bar. We can always go back to that. I think when we do, it will be massive. But we’re both on a bit of a singles journey at the moment, and there’s still a lot I want to achieve as a singles guy. Obviously, the Intercontinental title is the one I still haven’t won, so that’s all I really care about right now.”

Sheamus recently returned to in-ring action following a lengthy hiatus. During that time away from the ring, he considered retiring from wrestling, admitting how “It’s something that’s always in the back of your mind. It’s no secret that I had a couple of issues physically, a few injuries because it is physical what we do,” Sheamus said. “And then my style as well, it trebles that, you know? There were a couple of times when I thought, ‘Will I make it back in there?’”

He will be competing against Shorty G this Sunday at Royal Rumble. The event takes place from the Minute Mark Park in Houston, Texas.
