Jesse Ventura to Call 4 WWE Shows Annually: “Handcuffs are off”

Jesse Ventura won’t be restrained at this weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event show, in what will be the first of several appearances for ‘The Body.’ Speaking on the Bill Simmons podcast, Ventura promised to hold nothing back when he returns to commentary for the December 14, event.

“Handcuffs are off, I can say anything I want about anyone. I am very excited about it.

Ventura’s role on commentary at this week’s Saturday Night’s Main Event is a throwback to the original shows of the 1980s, where he also donned the headset. On the podcast, Ventura shared that his appearance this Saturday won’t be a one-off, as he’s set to be a part of the show on January 25, 2025, and beyond.

I don’t discuss finances, but it’s acceptable, and I’ll be doing four a year.”

The WWE Hall of Famer won’t be the only throwback to WWE’s past fans can expect at Saturday Night’s Main Event. WWE has promised to bring “that old school look and feel to Nassau Coliseum” for the show. PW Insider reports that the broadcast will reflect this retro theme, similar to the original SNME shows.

Ventura was at the December 7, edition of WWE SmackDown in his native Minnesota, and with a brand new WWE Legends contract, is ready to work closely with the promotion.

Rey Fenix Backs ‘Most Accurate’ Report Of “Huge Injustice” in AEW

Questions remain as to Rey Fenix’s relationship with AEW, but the masked star provided some clarity on his current situation this week. After Dr. Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda shared the following information on X, Fenix endorsed it as the most accurate report about his situation so far.

“The alleged excuse that Tony Khan found out about Lucha Brothers [being] in talks with WWE is ‘fake news,’ and the real reason [will be] revealed.”

– There is a “real story” behind the situation with Rey Fenix, which is a “huge injustice.”

– Expect the Lucha Brothers to go more in-depth about their time in AEW when they are free and clear to do so, and “when they do, [it] is going to be ugly.”

Fenix replied twice to Featherstone’s tweet. While he’s contractually unable to speak freely about his situation with AEW, he endorsed Featherstone’s report is the most accurate take on what’s transpired and what’s to come.

https://twitter.com/ReyFenixMx/status/1865989781811020078

Fenix’s latest posts are the latest in a trend of reports about his relationship with AEW. It has been reported that AEW has added injury time to Fenix’s contract, prohibiting him from leaving the company with Penta, who recently returned to Lucha Libre AAA.

Rey Fenix recently spoke of working under “inhumane treatment” with a post many took as a nod to his time with AEW. While it’s unclear when, if ever, fans will see Rey Fenix in an AEW ring again, the former International Champion will appear for House of Glory later this month.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Rey Fenix as he is ready to tell his side of what’s been going on with AEW when the time is right.

Why Eric Bischoff Won’t Take a Full-Time Role with WWE NXT

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff would enjoy doing more with WWE NXT, but can’t see a full-time role playing out at this point in time. On Busted Open Radio, Bischoff shared his conflicted views when asked about a future role with WWE’s silver brand.

“It’s something I wish I could do in a way, but I love where I live, and I’m not a big fan of traveling. If there’s anything I’d be passionate about, though, it would be working with talent.”

Bischoff was a part of the December 2, edition of WWE NXT, where he was part of a segment with NXT Champion Trick Williams and Eric Bischoff. The two Superstar traded barbs and brawled ahead of their showdown at Deadline where Williams would retain the WWE NXT Championship.

Learn More About Williams’ Victory Over Holland At WWE NXT Deadline

While Bischoff won’t have a regular role honing the minds and skills of young talent (at least not yet,) WWE is preparing to do just that with WWE LFG (Legends & Future Greats.) The new show from WWE & A&E will be a competition between contestants seeking to earn a WWE contract by participating in weekly matches. The titular ‘future greats’ will be mentored by legends of WWE, including The Undertaker, Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, and Mickie James.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Eric Bischoff, as the WWE Hall of Famer continues to share his wisdom with talent, even without an official role in NXT.

Chris Jericho Visits Childhood Street in Winnipeg Named After Him

Chris Jericho has made a name for himself in both pro-wrestling and music and now the AEW star has visited the street that bears his name. On Instagram, Jericho shared footage from his native Winnipeg, saying it was “cool” that a road had been named in his honor. The road holds extra significance for the first-ever AEW World Champion, who used to live and deliver newspapers on the street now named after him.

When not named after the wrestling legend, the street is called Wordsworth Way and has already appeared in Jericho’s entertainment endeavors. The street received its own track on Fozzy’s album Judas, with Jericho himself writing the lyrics for the track. The album was released in October 2017 and Jericho would use the titular track in New Japan and AEW.

Jericho is currently visiting Winnipeg as part of a ‘Jericho History’ tour hosted on his social media channels. Chris, who these days resides in Florida like several wrestlers, is back in Canada to celebrate the birthday of his father, NHL legend Ted Irvine.

When not giving history lessons in Winnipeg, Jericho can be found appearing for AEW and is the reigning Ring of Honor World Champion. Jericho will defend against Matt Cardona later this month at ROH Final Battle inside the legendary Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Chris Jericho and his adventures both in and out of the squared circle.

Zilla Fatu Calls Out Solo Sikoa At GLCW Event: “Where You At?!”

Zilla Fatu is ready for a piece of WWE Superstar Solo Sikoa, as the son of Umaga made explicitly clear at a recent event for GLCW. At GLCW Blizzard Brawl on December 8, Fatu defeated Joey Avalon and delivered the Bloodline’s iconic hand gesture after his victory. Going even further, Fatu stared down a camera and asked “Solo! Where you at Solo?” before delivering a Jey Uso-inspired Yeet for good measure.

Fatu has yet to join Solo, Uso, Roman Reigns and the rest of his family in WWE, but speculation remains rife that he will join. Following the announcement of the WWE ID program, many assumed Zilla would be announced as a ‘Prospect’ but that has yet to happen.

What Is The WWE ID Program: Current Prospects Revealed

The idea of Zilla in WWE has been endorsed by his trainer Booker T, who currently serves as an NXT commentator. Last week, Zilla shared that he would back Roman Reigns’ Bloodline over the group led by Solo Sikoa. Reigns’ group, with CM Punk, defeated Solo’s Bloodline and Bronson Reed in a brutal WarGames match at Survivor Series that saw several Superstars injured.

Learn More About The WarGames Injuries: Who’s Out Of Action?

Zilla has not let his future be confined to just his family members, and he has shown interest in facing John Cena as part of the WWE icon’s farewell tour that will kick off next month. It remains to be seen if Zilla Fatu ever becomes a WWE Superstar, but the multi-generational star is ready to bring the fight to Solo Sikoa, should a deal be inked.

Charlotte Flair Trains With NXT & TNA Stars In Latest Recovery Update

WWE’s resident Queen Charlotte Flair is closing in on a return and was spotted training for her comeback this week. In a photo shared to X, Flair can be seen training with NXT’s Shawn Spears and Kiana James (the latter of whom is also out with an injury) and TNA’s Lei Ying Lee (formerly Xia Li in WWE.)

Flair has been out with a serious knee injury since December 2023, an injury she suffered during a SmackDown match with Asuka. The injury forced Flair to miss several major events, including missing only her second WrestleMania since being called to the main roster in 2015.

Charlotte Reveals Her Initial Reaction to Career-Threatening Injury

Charlotte went under the knife in January and has kept fans updated on her recovery ever since. Last month, Flair teased that her return was coming, with a video of a block of ice bursting into the shape of a diamond. Unless she returns to action within a matter of weeks, this will be the first year of her decade-long WWE career without in-ring activity.

Outside of the ring, Flair has been busy with non-wrestling projects, including an indie horror film announced in May of this year. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Charlotte Flair as the Queen of All Eras continues to work hard to make a return to the ring possible.

Jake Hager: Tony Khan Didn’t Want Me In AEW

Jake Hager spent years as part of AEW, despite the company’s owner Tony Khan allegedly not wanting him in the promotion in the first place. Speaking to Going Ringside, Hager alleged that it was only due to Chris Jericho that he was a part of the promotion.

“Chris Jericho is the greatest of all time… Tony didn’t want me there, but Chris said he wanted me there, and it was awesome.”

Hager debuted in AEW on the inaugural episode of Dynamite in October 2019, immediately aligning with Jericho as part of the Inner Circle. Hager stayed with the company until May of this year when he opted not to re-sign with the company. His final TV appearance was on the February 21, 2024, edition of Rampage, where he lost to Roderick Strong.

Jake Hager Exits AEW After Declining New Contract

Hager’s claim that Khan didn’t want him is not the first bold claim made by the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Last month, Hager claimed that Khan had threatened his job over his support for Donald Trump. Hager, who has also called Khan a communist, has yet to provide hard evidence for any of his claims against the AEW President.

Hager has competed a handful of times since parting ways with AEW, and fans shouldn’t expect him to work with Tony Khan again. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Jake Hager as the All-Elite alum continues to make his views clear out of the ring.

Tony Khan Shares “Great Conversations” With Potential ROH TV Partners

Tony Khan is confident that Ring of Honor will land on television eventually after having “great conversations” with potential partners. Speaking to the Sports Guys Talk Wrestling podcast, Khan spoke highly of his second wrestling promotion.

“It’s a great company. I love ROH… there’s a great opportunity to grow Ring of Honor as we grow AEW.”

Khan acquired Ring of Honor in 2022 and despite his best efforts, the promotion is yet to land its on televised show. Instead, fans can check out ROH on the HonorClub service, as well as occasional ROH title matches on AEW programming. Undeterred, Khan remains confident in Ring of Honor’s potential future on TV.

“There’s a lot of interest right now in Ring of Honor. I’ve had great conversations about TV partnerships with ROH.”

In the meantime, Ring of Honor is gearing up for its upcoming Final Battle pay-per-view from the legendary Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. The show, Ring of Honor’s 23rd Final Battle event overall, will take place on December 20. The match card so far is as follows:

  • Red Velvet (c) vs. Leyla Hirsch (ROH Women’s World Championship)
  • Chris Jericho (c) vs. Matt Cardona (ROH World Championship)
  • The Sons of Texas (Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara) (c) vs. The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) (ROH World Tag Team Championship)

Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Ring of Honor, including breaking news and live results from this month’s Final Battle.

Penta El Zero Miedo Returns to AAA Amid Reported AEW Exit

Penta El Zero Miedo has made his dramatic return to AAA, mere days after it was reported that his time with AEW had come to an end. Penta appeared at the latest tapings of AAA Lucha Libre, earning a raucous ovation and “Cero Miedo” chant from the fans in attendance.

Penta’s return to AAA comes after the former AEW World Tag & Trios Champion was removed from AEW’s roster website. It was reported earlier this month that Penta’s AEW contract has expired, making the 39-year-old wrestler a free agent. Penta’s brother Rey Fenix will reportedly remain with AEW through 2025 after injury time was added to his contract.

Rey Fenix: No-One Stays In A Place Where They Received Inhumane Treatment

Penta debuted in AAA in September 2010, and would remain with the promotion until 2017, citing unhappiness and feeling held back as reasons behind his exit. The following year, Penta returned and would continue to compete sporadically for AAA until 2023. He is a three-time World Tag Team Champion, one-time Mixed Tag Team Champion, and one-time AAA Latin American Champion.

Tiffany Stratton Teases MITB Cash-In & More With NXT Deadline Cameo

WWE NXT has confirmed its next major event, New Year’s Evil, and SmackDown’s Tiffany Stratton could have a huge role to play on the show. During WWE NXT Deadline, it was announced that New Year’s Evil will take place on January 7, 2025, in Los Angeles, California.

Ava’s announcement was interrupted by Tiffany Stratton, who received a huge reaction in her hometown of Minneapolis. Stratton also teased cashing in her Money in the Bank contract at New Year’s Evil.

NXT New Year’s Evil will see NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez put her title on the line against Giulia. The Beautiful Madness earned the title shot by winning the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge, outlasting Zaria, Wren Sinclair, Sol Ruca, and Stephanie Vaquer. The pair met on the debut episode of WWE NXT on The CW in a title match that saw Perez retain thanks to interference by Cora Jade.

Learn More on Giulia’s Iron Survivor Challenge Win At WWE NXT Deadline

While Stratton teased going after the NXT Women’s Championship, a title she previously held in 2023, Giulia and Perez aren’t the only Superstars on her radar. On X, Stratton shared that she wanted an NXT Underground match after seeing Lola Vice defeat Jaida Parker at Deadline.

NXT New Year’s Evil will be part of a huge week for WWE, as the show will take place one day after WWE Raw debuts on Netflix. Stratton has also teased cashing in her Money in the Bank contract during that show, so the blockbuster week of WWE programming could indeed be a huge one for the Buff Barbie.

Ethan Page “Can’t Do This” After Latest Setback At NXT Deadline

Ethan Page has teased an uncertain future after the former NXT Champion suffered yet another setback during this week’s NXT Deadline. At the event, Page was a part of the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge that opened the show. Page scored two points in the match with wins over Nathan Frazer and Oba Femi but it was the Nigerian Star who’d win, earning a shot at the NXT Championship.

More On Oba Femi’s Startling Return And Win At WWE NXT Deadline

Coming up short at Deadline is just the latest setback for Page, who’s been on a downward spiral since losing the NXT title to Trick Williams in October. Speaking to NXT’s cameras after the show, the All-Ego star addressed his shortcomings.

“18 years, it took me to get here. To climb that mountain-top, to win the championship. It also took me 18 years to figure out that Ethan Page has no clue how to get back there.”

When asked to clarify his point, a dejected Page was unsure what was next, walking off while telling the cameras “I can’t do this.”

Page arrived in WWE NXT earlier this year, shortly after exiting AEW, and as he pointed out in the video, won the NXT Title within four matches of his debut. Now, the future remains unclear for the All-Ego talent, who’s facing a crisis of confidence after coming up short once again in the big opportunity. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Ethan Page as the veteran seeks to figure out what’s next for his career in WWE NXT.

Rey Fenix: No-One Stays In A Place Where They Received Inhumane Treatment

Rey Fenix believes that no one should suffer from “inhumane treatment” as questions continue about his relationship with AEW. On X, Fenix made his point.

https://twitter.com/ReyFenixMx/status/1865514283037299154

When a fan said it was wrong that AEW isn’t using Fenix, the masked wrestler said there would come a time when he would speak the truth.

While Fenix did not reference AEW by name in his post, many fans in the comments saw the post as in reference to the All-Elite promotion. In August, it was reported that Fenix and Penta were expected to leave AEW, and when Fenix withdrew from an independent event, many saw it as a sign he’d already joined WWE.

Rey Fenix Teases New Chapter as Lucha Bros. Future Remains Uncertain

Fenix has been missing from AEW programming since the July 20, edition of AEW Collison. AEW has reportedly added injury time to his contract, keeping him with the promotion until 2025. Penta meanwhile has recently entered free agency.

While it’s unclear when, if ever, fans will see Rey Fenix in an AEW ring again, the former International Champion will appear for House of Glory later this month. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Rey Fenix as he is ready to tell all about the “inhumane treatment” he’s experienced.

Lola Vice & Jaida Parker Trade Barbs Ahead Of NXT Underground Collision

Jaida Parker and Lola Vice have traded their final barbs ahead of the pair’s confrontation in NXT Underground as part of tonight’s Deadline event. The pair have traded attacks in recent weeks, with Parker even using a brick during the latest WWE NXT.

On Busted Open Radio, Parker was asked if she regrets antagonizing Vice, a former MMA fighter.

“No, not regrets at all, because she came into that ring talking mess, saying, ‘I just made the worst mistake of my career coming into her world.’ Nah, baby, this is Jada Parker’s world.”

On X, Vice fired back, saying that Parker will never catch her off-guard again, and that she’ll pay for everything tonight at NXT Deadline.

“I am going to hurt you. I am going to punish you. And I don’t need no weapons to do that. All I need are these fists.”

The pair will face off in an NXT Underground match, which blends pro wrestling styles with the gritty realism of an MMA contest. Vice is 2-0 in NXT Underground matches, but it was Parker who got the win when the pair met in a Hardcore match at NXT in the 2300 Arena.

What Are The Rules Of An NXT Underground Match?

WWE NXT Deadline will take place tonight, December 7, from the Minneapolis Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Five matches have been announced, including two Iron Survivor Challenge matches. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest from WWE NXT Deadline including breaking news and live results.

Trick Williams Cleared For NXT Deadline, Vows Payback for Chase U

WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams has promised payback for Chase U ahead of tonight’s Deadline showdown with Ridge Holland. On the latest episode of WWE NXT, Holland attacked Williams in an assault that left the status of their title match ‘up in the air.’

Learn More About Ridge Holland’s Assault on the WWE NXT Champion

On X, Williams shared a video, confirming that he’s been released from the hospital and has been cleared to compete against Holland tonight at WWE NXT Deadline. Holland admitted that Ridge got the best of him on Tuesday but said that there’s no way he’d take the NXT Championship.

“I’m doing this for Chase U. I’m doing this for NXT. And I’m doing this for me.”

Holland earned a shot at Williams last month with a win over Andre Chase. As per the match stipulation, this marked the end of Chase U, much to the dismay of fans of the popular, now-defunct faction. Holland has relished in ending the group, even arriving at the following week’s episode of WWE NXT to the group’s music and entrance.

WWE NXT Deadline will take place tonight, December 7, from the Minneapolis Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The show will feature two Iron Survivor Challenges, as well as the return of the NXT Underground match.

WWE Raw Champions Compete After SmackDown in Minneapolis

The action didn’t stop after this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown went off the air from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The show saw the blue brand deal with the fallout of Survivor Series: WarGames, new WWE Tag Team Champions crowned, and a new ‘Transfer Window’ be introduced.

Learn More About WWE’s Transfer Window And Potential Roster Changes

In the first dark match of the night, Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker made quick work of Dominik Mysterio. Neither man was featured on SmackDown, though eagle-eyed fans spotted ‘Dirty Dom’ speaking to Nick Aldis during a segment with Chelsea Green, Bianca Belair, and Piper Niven.

In the second dark match, World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER retained his gold against Minnesota’s own Otis. Despite a valiant effort by the Alpha Academy star, GUNTHER retained his title with a powerbomb onto the superheavweight The 2021 King of the Ring appeared on SmackDown where he met with General Manager Nick Aldis.

The fans in Minneapolis certainly had a stacked night of WWE action, both during the SmackDown broadcast and after the show went off the air. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest from WWE SmackDown as the blue brand appears poised for major changes thanks to the upcoming Transfer Window.

Matt Cardona Appears On AEW Rampage As ROH Title Match Looms

‘Indy God’ Matt Cardona made a surprise appearance on AEW Rampage this week ahead of his ROH World Championship showdown with Chris Jericho. In the ring, Jericho declared himself the ‘King of New York’ and dared Cardona, who confronted him on the latest ROH on HonorClub, to meet him face-to-face.

Cardona arrived on the scene, marking his AEW Rampage debut, and spoke of “busting my ass for this opportunity” against the ROH World Champion. Cardona added that he would prove himself by beating Jericho, who retorted by saying “You might be a bigger star now, but you’re still just Zack.”

Jericho slapped Cardona, sparking a brawl that saw Bryan Keith blindside the former Long Island Iced-Z. Jericho whipped his upcoming challenger with the ROH World Title while Keith delivered a shot with a belt buckle.

Cardona and Jericho will collide at ROH Final Battle, which will take place on December 20, from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest from ROH Final Battle including breaking news and live results as Matt Cardona seeks to add another championship to his resume.

Solo Sikoa Reasserts Tribal Chief Status With SmackDown Dominance

Solo Sikoa firmly remains the Tribal Chief and Head of the Table, despite his Bloodline’s defeat at Survivor Series: WarGames. In the main event of WWE’s latest Premium Live Event, Sikoa’s Bloodline lost to Roman Reigns’ OG Bloodline with Solo taking the pinfall for his team.

The match saw both Tonga Loa and Bronson Reed suffer injuries, but that didn’t deter Sikoa during this week’s SmackDown. The show opened with Sikoa and his remaining allies establishing their dominance backstage, taking out Apollo Crews and several other individuals.

Later in the night, the group took out LA Knight and Andrade when both were making their case to be the first challenger to new U.S. Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. Interestingly, the faction did not attack Nakamura when they had the chance, as the Japanese star appeared poised to use his dreaded mist. On the mic, Sikoa declared that losing some men didn’t matter, as he still has the Ula Fala, the symbol of the Tribal Chief.

Roman Reigns was not a part of this week’s SmackDown, so did not share a rebuttal to what Sikoa had to say during the show. Nevertheless, the leader of the New Bloodline is eager to assert that he is firmly in control, despite his defeat at Survivor Series: WarGames in Vancouver.

Kevin Owens Vows Payback On Sami Zayn For Returning to The Bloodline

Kevin Owens has vowed to deal with his best friend Sami Zayn aligning with The Bloodline, the Prizefighter made clear during WWE SmackDown. On the December 6, show, Owens was interviewed by Michael Cole in Owens’ car, and spoke about Cody Rhodes teaming with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood, a ‘betrayal’ in Owens’ eyes that kicked off his heel turn.

Kevin Owens Snaps, Attacks Cody Rhodes In Parking Lot After WWE Bad Blood

Cole countered that it was unfair of Owens to target Cody Rhodes when Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn all aligned with Reigns at Survivor Series: WarGames. Owens said that he didn’t care what Jimmy or Jey had done, but promised that he’d deal with Zayn at the right time. Cole said that Owens is the problem, not everyone else, prompting the former Universal Champion to boot him from the vehicle.

Owens vowing to deal with Zayn fills a glaring plot hole fans online have been bringing up ever since Crown Jewel, where Sami re-aligned with the OG Bloodline. Many fans felt it was odd that Owens would try and destroy Rhodes for teaming with Reigns one time, and was doing nothing to his best friend for committing to the OTC once more.

Owens’ arrival in WWE saw him attack Zayn in late 2014 and the pair have feuded several times, including with a match at WrestleMania 37. The pair have also teamed multiple times, including winning the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 39 in only the second tag-team main event in the history of the show.

Zayn fell afoul of the returning Drew McIntyre during this week’s Raw, and will now have his best friend to deal with again. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Kevin Owens, as the Prizefighter is ready for revenge on those who ‘wronged’ him, including his best friend.

WWE & PowerSlap Mobile Game Coming To App Store & Google Play

WWE and PowerSlap Mobile will team up next week, with a new mobile game slamming the two together being available next Friday. During the latest episode of SmackDown, it was confirmed that the mobile game is coming and will be available on by Apple’s App Store as will as Google Play. Reigning Power Slap Champion Wolverine and WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio have been confirmed for the game already.

image 2

PowerSlap is an American slap-fighting promotion owned by Dana White, the CEO of UFC. Opponents take turns slapping one another in the face and have 60 seconds to recover from a slap and get back into position. Fights can end either via knockout or go to a judge’s decision after three rounds.

PowerSlap has faced criticism due to the severe health risks that competitors put themselves under, CTE researcher and former WWE Superstar Chris Nowinski (whose in-ring career ended due to concussions) observed during a contest one competitor showing signs of serious brain damage after repeated slaps. There have been calls from medical experts and politicians alike to have the show banned.

Merging the worlds of WWE and PoweSlap blends two entities linked to Endeavor, as White is part of TKO Group Holdings due to his role with UFC. Endeavor launched TKO, which merges WWE and UFC in September 2023, and recently brought three other acquisitions into the fold. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on WWE & PowerSlap Mobile as fans eagerly await this new mobile game.

John Cena’s Life Advice for Logan Paul Applies to All of Us

A simple message shared by John Cena had a profound effect on Logan Paul, the social media content creator has revealed. During the latest edition of his ImPaulsive podcast, Paul shared the words of wisdom given to him by WWE’s Greatest Of All Time.

“He told me this: ‘Comparison is the thief of joy.'”

Paul didn’t understand what the mantra meant at first, but has slowly figured the message out, and believes it applies to his own life.

“I do compare myself to people in the sense that I’m competitive, and I use it as fuel to motivate me to do better… But I’m also wondering if it is the thief of joy. ‘Cause while I am reaching these pinnacles, am I happy doing it?”

Cena not only delivers these words to Paul but carries them with him at all times. During an August 2024 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Cena shared that he wears a watch with the six-word phrase inscribed, reminding him to always appreciate himself.

It’s not just The Maverick who has benefitted from Cena’s words of wisdom. On X, the 16-time World Champion often shares sayings, proverbs, and advice to his 14.4 Million followers. Cena’s words on X juxtapose his Instagram usage, where his caption-free images are left open for interpretation.

Cena will kick off his farewell tour next month, with Paul’s name being discussed as a potential opponent for the WWE icon. While the pair could soon be sharing the ring as adversaries. Logan Paul will always appreciate the words of wisdom from the former World Champion.

Solo Sikoa Will Be WWE Champion in 2025, Claims Hall of Famer

Solo Sikoa will hold WWE World Championship gold in 2025, according to WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, in a huge claim for the Bloodline’s leader. On his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi shared his bold vision for Sikoa’s future in the coming year.

“I’ve got full confidence in Solo… He’s been out for a minute, perfecting the craft, waiting his turn, waiting for his opportunity. 2025, I see Solo Sikoa will become Undisputed WWE Champion.”

Sikoa has already come close to the Undisputed WWE Championship but failed to win the gold at SummerSlam, thanks in part to the return of Roman Reigns. Sikoa’s most recent title opportunity came last month at a WWE live event in Sheffield, England, where he once again came up short against Cody Rhodes.

Rikishi has high hopes for Sikoa, despite Solo’s shocking losing streak against the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion. Outside of the world title, Sikoa is a former NXT North American Champion, though vacated the gold shortly after.

2025 is shaping up to be a huge year in WWE, with the impending Netflix move looming, John Cena’s farewell tour, and key events such as the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 41. It remains to be seen what role Sikoa will play over the coming 12 months, but it’s a matter of time before the Tribal Chief has gold around his waist as far as Rikishi is concerned.

Booker T Criticizes Athena’s ‘Boxed In’ ROH Role, AEW Ratings Drop

Athena may be the unquestionable top woman in Ring of Honor, but Booker T feels so much more could be done with the Women’s World Champion. On his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker, who trained Athena, argued that the ex-WWE Superstar should be a regular on AEW’s televised programs.

“Athena would fit right into the AEW women’s roster. She’s just as good, if not better… instead, they stick her in a box and put her in Ring of Honor.”

Though a regular in Ring of Honor, Athena rarely appears on AEW programming, with her most recent match for the brand coming back in April. That match is also Athena’s only AEW match of the past year, something that Booker would like to see change.

On the podcast, Booker also addressed AEW’s ratings, which have taken a slump in recent years. The days of Tony Khan boasting about over a million fans tuning into Dynamite are a distant memory and Booker shared what he’d be doing if he was in Khan’s shoes.

“If I saw the ratings drop that low, I’d be thinking about getting some help or shutting it down—one of the two.”

Tony Khan Hits Back At “Disingenuous” Feedback From Non-AEW Fans

Athena recently passed 700 days as ROH Women’s World Champion, more than any other champion and more days than all other champions combined. Nevertheless, Booker believes there’s a lot more that can be done with his pupil, and has been underwhelmed by Athena being ‘boxed in’ as part of Ring of Honor.

Kofi Kingston Teases What’s Next for The New Day After Split From Big E

The New Day’s split during the December 2, 2024, episode of WWE Raw shocked fans, and marked the end of one of wrestling’s most popular factions as it was known for years. The ten-year celebration of the group saw Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods betray Big E, claiming they wanted nothing to do with him and claimed he’d never be cleared to wrestle.

During an appearance on The Battleground Podcast, Kofi addressed the aftermath of the split while refusing to disclose the group’s future plans.

“None of those details are ones I’m willing to share with you, you know what I’m saying? Every Monday night—find out.”

Every interview since Raw that Kingston has been a part of, he’s been asked about the breakup, a fact Kingston called a “good thing.” While Kofi avoided specifics, the former WWE World Champion expressed excitement about what lies ahead for the group.

“[Our future is] littered with uncertainty—in the best way possible. I think the opportunities for us are going to start ringing in.”

While Kofi’s comments keep fans guessing, one thing is certain: The New Day is ready to make an impact, now as heels. Stay tuned to SEScoops to see if the teased opportunities do indeed ‘ring in’ for Kingston and Woods, now that they’ve left Big E behind.

TNA Wrestling’s “23” Mystery Sparks Fan Speculation on iMPACT

A new mystery in TNA Wrestling debuted on the promotion’s latest episode of iMPACT and has something to do with the number 23. Following a tag team match between PCO & Sami Callihan and The Good Hands (Jason Hotch & John Skyler), the lights dimmed and the number 23 was shown on screen, much to the confusion of Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt on commentary.

Speculation quickly began on social media, with theories about what the number could mean. Some fans speculated that it could do with TNA’s taping of iMPACT on January 23, in San Antonio, TX, the same city WWE will host Saturday Night’s Main Event that same week. Trish Stratus Looks Back On Iconic Raw Main Event & WWE’s Progress

Trish Stratus was honored to headline WWE Raw in 2004, an opportunity that the Hall of Famer had to fight for in every sense. This week marks 20 years since Stratus and Lita headlined the December 6, 2004, edition of the red brand which saw Lita capture the Women’s Title from her friend/rival.

Speaking to TV Insider, Stratus recalled only learning of the main event match when she arrived at the arena, and even then, believed it was a prank by male talent. It was only after speaking with Vince McMahon that the magnitude of their upcoming match truly sunk in.

“We knew it was a big opportunity, but at the time, we didn’t realize how big of an opportunity it was. Let alone the impact that night would have.”

20 years later, the match is still considered one of the best women’s matches in WWE TV history and came at a time when women were firmly behind the men. Just two years earlier, Stratus had faced Victoria in a hardcore match, one where many backstage didn’t want the pair to come close to delivering on the stipulation.

“We were thinking about doing a chair shot. ‘Women can not do that’… Only in the wrestling world where I have to fight to be whacked in the back with a steel chair.”

Stratus’ matches with Lita and Victoria would be a taste of things to come, as women’s wrestling in WWE has made huge steps over the past decade. While having two women headline Raw was a historic showcase in 2004, the concept is commonplace in today’s programming.

“It’s wild to me now that the main event is whoever deserves it. This isn’t just the women’s main event. It’s just two characters on the show.”

In a matter of days, WWE will take its next step in gender equality with the crowning of the first Women’s U.S. Champion at Saturday Night’s Main Event. WWE has also started a tournament on Raw to crown the first Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

“I think it’s amazing. This is exactly what we wanted back in the day. We wanted the same opportunities and exposure as the men. This is a big step.”

Stratus last competed for WWE at Payback 2023 against Becky Lynch in a steel cage, another concept practically off-limits for women during Stratus’ full-time career. With opportunities growing in WWE that Stratus wished existed decades ago, fans can’t count out some Stratusfaction being served again, possibly with gold on the line.

Other Highlights

Stratus discussed a variety of topics in her interview, including:

  • Appearing on MADtv was a “dream” for Stratus, who preferred the show growing up to Saturday Night Live.
  • Stratus is interested in appearing on Dancing With The Stars. The show has already featured Chris Jericho, Nikki Garcia, and The Miz.
  • She “imagines at some point” that fans will see her in the ring again, especially with next year being the 25th anniversary of her WWE debut.
