  • The Creed Brothers Continue To Impress, Chad Gable Turns Heel on 4/15 WWE Raw

The Creed Brothers Continue To Impress, Chad Gable Turns Heel on 4/15 WWE Raw

Brutus & Julius Creed continued to impress on the April 15, episode of WWE Monday Night Raw even if they didn’t walk away with the win.

During the show, The Creed Brothers were part of a triple-threat tag team match with a shot at champions The Awesome Truth on the line. The Creeds were joined by DIY and the New Day in a fun match that saw plenty of offense from all three teams.

While it was DIY who got the win and the title opportunity, the Creeds certainly impressed and the team was even trending on Twitter as fans gushed over their performance. Though this show was not their night, the Creed Brothers could be on track for an opportunity at the newly-rechristened World Tag Team Championships if this momentum continues.

    Chad Gable Turns Heel

In the main event of WWE Monday Night Raw, Chad Gable once again came up short in his efforts to win the Intercontinental Championship. The Olympian lost to Sami Zayn in Montreal, a stone’s throw away from the Underdog’s home in Laval, Quebec. After the match, a frustrated Gable delivered a beatdown on Zayn in front of the Intercontinental Champion’s wife and family.

Gable is already the leader of Alpha Academy but his heel turn could leave Otis, Maxxine Dupri, and Akira Tozawa unwilling to work with him for much longer. If so, perhaps Gable could form a new team of mat-based technicians with the Creed Brothers.

Trios like this aren’t unprecedented in WWE. During the Ruthless Aggression era, Kurt Angle formed Team Angle, which consisted of himself, Shelton Benjamin, and Charlie Haas. The group saw plenty of success and championships and Kurt would prove to be an inspiration to Gable when Chad pursued his Olympic dreams.

Like Gable with the Intercontinental title, the Creeds have impressed on the main roster but that has yet to result in championship gold. Perhaps an alliance between the three men is what’s needed to take them to the next level.

  • Mysterious QR Code Appears on 4/15 WWE Raw: Decoding The Symbols Behind Eerie Video

WWE has kept the mysteries coming with a new QR code that has left the fans wondering what’s to come in the future.

The QR code appeared briefly during the entrance of the New Day during the April 15, 2024, edition of WWE Monday Night Raw. Upon being scanned, the code takes fans to a screen with incomplete letters and a red grid background. Put the two rows of incomplete letters together and you get a link that takes you to the following video.

The video includes the message ‘Time to wake up, take my hand. Things will be better. Trust Me.’ This new video comes after ‘glitches’ on both the April 8, edition of Raw and April 12, edition of SmackDown teased something big is coming.

    Decoding the Video

This video also includes an image of a man seeing the shadow of a bird that is being cast on a wall by somebody behind them holding the actual bird in front of a flame. This is a reference to the philosopher Plato and his cave allegory to explain existence. Plato argued in his work Republic that man spends his time looking at the cave and while the shadows that appear on the wall are man’s reality, they are not accurate representations of the real world and are merely a fraction of the actual reality.

The video also includes an image of a crow or raven, both of which are birds associated with darkness. Both birds are scavengers and are generally associated with dead bodies. A group of crows is called a ‘murder’ while a group of ravens is an ‘unkindness.’

    What’s to Come?

Many believe these teases are building to the return of Uncle Howdy, previously played by Bo Dallas who has been under contract since 2022. WWE recently teased the return of Uncle Howdy following their Bray Wyatt: Becoming Immortal documentary

WWE used QR codes and bizarre videos in 2022 in the run-up to Wyatt’s return at that year’s Extreme Rules event. The ‘White Rabbit’ angle was praised by fans and pundits for its creativity and for WWE’s willingness to use a much different format than what fans were used to for a returning Superstar.

Some have speculated that Uncle Howdy will not return alone, as there have been references to ‘us’ in previous teases. Alexa Bliss, who was aligned with Bray Wyatt has been speculated by fans to be part of this angle. Erick Redbeard’s recently signed contract that has kept him from competing on the indies has also led to the belief he could be involved.

  • Rhea Ripley Injured, May Need To Vacate WWE Women’s World Title

Rhea Ripley Injured, May Need To Vacate WWE Women’s World Title

Rhea Ripley is dealing with an injury that has WWE officials seriously considering vacating her Women’s World Championship. PWInsider reports, “the issue is severe enough that the talk internally is that Ripley may be forced to vacate her championship, possibly as soon as tonight’s episode of Raw.”

Ripley was injured on last week’s 4/8 WWE Raw during a backstage brawl with former ally Liv Morgan. The melee began when Morgan threw a chair at Ripley’s head, which may have caused the injury. Tonight on WWE Raw, she’s scheduled to address the attack.

Ripley has held the title since WrestleMania 39 (when it was the SmackDown Women’s Championship) and recently defended the gold at WrestleMania 40 against Becky Lynch.  It’s a terribly unfortunate situation for Ripley, who has established herself as one of the biggest and brightest stars in WWE.

Since capturing the gold in 2023, the Judgment Day member has proven to be a hit with WWE fans around the world and her popularity led to her main eventing in Australia at WWE Elimination Chamber: Perth

With that in mind, the decision to vacate the title will not be an easy one for those involved to make but, may be a necessary one. As for now, we at SEScoops wish Ripley the very best.

  • 5 Things We Learned From Reading Ronda Rousey’s Book ‘Our Fight’

5 Things We Learned From Reading Ronda Rousey’s Book ‘Our Fight’

Ronda Rousey has an incredible story to tell. I recently read her new memoir, ‘Our Fight.’ The outspoken star’s fighting spirit jumps off the page as she vividly recounts the highs and lows of her personal life and career. Known for her combative style, Rousey speaks candidly about her years of competition – whether in the squared circle, the octagon, or her facing her own personal challenges.

Synopsis: ‘From New York Times bestselling author and trailblazing athlete Ronda Rousey, an unfiltered chronicle of loss, resilience and finding meaning in life’s journey.’

Here are five things I learned from reading Ronda Rousey: Our Fight:

She Contemplated Suicide After A Devastating UFC Loss

After 15 consecutive wins in UFC, many of which came in mere seconds, Rousey was rocked in November 2015 when she lost to Holly Holm. As the biggest female fighter in the world, the loss was especially hard for the future WWE star.

In her book, Rousey openly admits that she wanted to kill herself after the fight, adding that OD’ing on painkiller was what she considered in the moments after the loss. Thankfully, Rousey would be talked off the proverbial edge by her future husband Travis Browne, who shared a look of pure love to her backstage after the fight, convincing Rousey to continue living.

Her Role During the Hall of Fame Bret Hart Assault

At the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame, Bret Hart received his second induction for his role as part of the Hart Foundation alongside the late Jim Neidhart. Unfortunately, a ‘fan’ decided to use the moment to attack Bret but was quickly subdued by a gaggle of WWE names with Rousey’s husband Travis Browne leading the pack.

In Our Fight, Rousey says that Browne was the first to move to protect Hart, and that she had told him to “get him” referring to the attacker. Fearing how dangerous her husband, an accomplished MMA fighter in his own right, could be, Rousey also told Browne “Don’t kill him.” She adds:

“It did not escape me that everyone was so lost in their fantasy world that when s**t got real, my husband was the realest motherf****r in the room. Everyone froze. Everyone except Travis Browne.”

She Was Told Not to Do Moves Because of the Guys

At WrestleMania 35, Rousey made history as part of the first Women’s main event in the show’s history. Despite this historic feat which WWE would bring up ad nauseam to make themselves look good, the men of WWE still took priority to the producers.

Rousey explains that WWE left the actual booking of the match until the night before, a play that would not happen with the men’s matches. Rousey also recalls pitching a powerbomb spot before being told that the move was off-limits, as “the guys are doing a powerbomb before your match.

“‘Of course’ I said in a tone that means that’s bulls**t.”

Rousey was far from pleased that an undercard men’s match could call ‘dibs’ on a move over the Women’s main event. Undeterred, the spot made it to the match anyway.

Survivor Series 2022 Was Her WWE Low Point

After returning and winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship in 2022, Rousey put the title on the line against Shotzi at that year’s Survivor Series. The match would be lambasted by fans as one of the worst bouts of the year, thanks in part to multiple mistimed spots.

Rousey explains that she felt humiliated by the match and compared her walk backstage to being pulled off by a giant cane on a stage. Backstage, Rousey was asked if the ref’s call to ‘go home’ was because of the botches but Triple H claimed that the previous men’s match had gone six minutes long, so time was taken from her match. The idea of men being given preferential treatment over women is a recurring theme of Our Fight

Rousey was mad that fans began a #FireRonda movement after the match and noted that similar movements weren’t made against male talent following Big E’s broken neck injury earlier that year, or Madcap Moss’ injury scare during a spot with Drew McIntyre. Weeks after Survivor Series, Rousey felt dejected in wrestling and described sitting in a Florida swamp reflecting on what’d happened as “her lowest point.”

She Doesn’t Care What You Think of Her Last Match

Rousey’s WWE career ended at SummerSlam 2023 when she lost the first ‘MMA Rules’ match to Shayna Baszler. While on-screen rivals at the time, the match had been one Rousey requested to give her friend and WWE trainer a huge boost on TV.

The match did not receive the best of reviews from fans, though Rousey hardly cares about that. In her book, she says that she heard “This is boring” chants and expected that fans weren’t going to understand or appreciate the match. Rousey calls the match her “last f*** you” to the fans and WWE and is proud of how she went out.

  • Jon Moxley Fires Warning to NJPW Roster After IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Win

Jon Moxley is riding high after his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship victory and has issued a warning to everybody in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Moxley captured the title at NJPW Windy City Riot from Tetsuya Naito in a historic victory for the AEW wrestler. With this win, Moxley becomes the first man in history to have won the WWE, AEW, and IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

Speaking after his big win, Moxley said that the air “tastes like f***ing victory” before thanking those who have supported him. Moxley added that title wins mean little to somebody who is able to do whatever they want.

“I don’t really care what three letters or four letters or five letters are on the name… I go where I want. I do whatever the f*ck I want, whenever the f*ck I want, and nobody can stop me.”

Later on, Moxley gave a warning to the entire New Japan roster ahead of his first title defense

“When you see what I do to my next opponent, when you see what I do to Shota, how far I am willing to go, what lengths I am willing to go to, how much I just absolutely show no mercy whatever, even to people that I love, you will see things in a whole different light.”

Moxley’s historic win is another accolade on what has become an epic career for the former WWE Superstar-turned-AEW staple. The New Japan roster will have to seriously step up its game if they hope to dethrone Moxley who is planning on a lengthy title run in the months to come.

  • Bryan Danielson: The Blackpool Combat Club Is Also A Book Club, Reading is Fantastic!

Bryan Danielson: The Blackpool Combat Club Is Also A Book Club, Reading is Fantastic!

The Blackpool Combat Club may be as tough as they come in the ring, but backstage the group likes few things more than settling in with a good book.

Since coming together in 2022, the BCC has forged a path of excellence in AEW which has resulted in several high-profile feuds and many championship wins. Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated though, Bryan Danielson explained the faction’s other kind of club.

“There is a BCC book club. We recommend books to each other. Reading is fantastic. Once you open the door to the world of books, there is so much to learn.”

Danielson added that the BCC book club helps the group stay “connected” and that they share the belief that reading can enhance your life. The American Dragon also revealed what he’s currently reading.

“I typically read three books at a time. I’ve been encouraging a lot of Mary Oliver’s Devotions, from a poetry perspective, it’s the best introduction to poetry.”

    A New Book Coming?

In 2016, Danielson (then Daniel Bryan) penned Yes: My Improbable Journey to the Main Event of WrestleMania. The book documents Bryan’s unlikely rise in WWE as well as the highs and lows of his time on the independent scene. In the interview, Danielson teased a new book could be coming as he’s been getting back into writing.

“The last year-and-a-half, I’ve really been getting better at writing. I’m doing it as a way to clarify my own thoughts. In this world, where we’re told what our morality is.”

Reading is a great way to relax, boost concentration and memory skills, and increase your imagination and knowledge. If you’ve been inspired to pick up a book then ‘The Man, Not Your Average, Average Girl‘ by Becky Lynch may be for you.

  • Big E Reveals Relationship with ‘Michin’ Mia Yim’s Sister Kris In Hilarious Photoshoot

Big E Reveals Relationship with ‘Michin’ Mia Yim’s Sister Kris In Hilarious Photoshoot

Big E’s future in pro wrestling may remain uncertain but the New Day member will be traversing what’s next in his life with his new partner Kris Yim.

On Instagram, Big E shared the big news, stating “My neck is broken but my heart is whole.” The former WWE World Champion also shared a hilarious photoshoot with Kris, who he also tagged.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/p:C5wER7bO3tp

In the comments, several names from the world of professional wrestling were excited to see the relationship made official. Mia Yim was pleased to see things “publicly official” while the caption ‘broke’ Mia’s husband Keith Lee. Naomi called the pair “My fav couple” while Renee Paquette said that the pair of Big E and Kris are “perfect” for each other.

    Who is Kris Yim?

While best known to WWE fans as the sister of Mia Yim, Kris is also an avid dog lover as seen on her social media profiles. In the bio for her Instagram, Kris has a link to Oakland Animal Services which encourages people to adopt otherwise unwanted dogs instead of shopping for a new puppy.

Kris is also quite the traveler and has made several trips to Europe as well as Jamaica and other destinations. She was the maid of honor to Mia Yim when the SmackDown Superstar married Keith Lee in a ceremony officiated by WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley in February 2022.

This budding romance is great news for Kris and Big E, the latter of whom continues to be out of action after suffering a broken neck in March 2022. Big E recently admitted he’s not sure if he will ever be cleared to wrestle again, but has said that he is happy and living without pain which is very important.

  • Main Roster Talent Eligible for NXT Move In 2024 WWE Draft, Two NXT Stars a “Lock” for Call-Up

Main Roster Talent Eligible for NXT Move In 2024 WWE Draft, Two NXT Stars a “Lock” for Call-Up

The 2024 WWE Draft will see the Superstars of the main roster be eligible to move to NXT in a break from how the draft usually affects the gold brand.

Sources close to NXT’s creative process told Fightful Select that talent from Raw and SmackDown could be moved to NXT as part of the draft. The WWE Universe recently saw The Final Testament and Viking Raider appear on NXT where they ambushed new tag-team champions Nathan Frazer & Axiom, Viking Raider Ivar also appeared to confront North American Champion Oba Femi.

This is all part of WWE’s efforts to make NXT the third brand of WWE once again. In 2019, WWE attempted to put NXT on the same level as Raw and SmackDown when the gold brand was moved to the USA Network. The next two weeks of NXT programming will focus on the draft in the lead-up to Spring Breakin.

    Being Called Up

While some main roster Superstars could soon call NXT home, fans can expect some call-ups as part of the WWE Draft. , Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov are said to be “a lock” for RAW or SmackDown. Roxanne Perez’s fate remains uncertain despite her call-up being teased on TV.

Tony D’Angelo’s Family and Baron Corbin have been discussed as possible additions to RAW or SmackDown. Corbin’s tag-team partner Bron Breakker was recently moved to SmackDown and it has been reported in the past that WWE was considering keeping them together.

    The Timing of The Draft

The WWE 2024 Draft will kick-off on the April 26, SmackDown and conclude on the April 29, Raw. The timing is no mere coincidence as WWE planned for the week of the NFT draft to capitalize on ‘draft fever’ which they’ve done in the past.

It was noted that WWE will receive input from their media partners, especially the CW (the future home of NXT) and Netflix (the future home of Raw.) One source added that with the Raw-Netflix move being closer to next year’s draft as opposed to this year “that won’t be something we need to worry about for a while.”

WWE will certainly have a different feel to it by the end of the WWE draft with all three brands set to be affected. Keep checking in with SE Scoops for all the latest WWE Draft news and to find out who goes where.

  • WWE Champion Cody Rhodes Arranges Meet & Greet For Young Fan Celebrating His Birthday

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is proving to be a champion of the people after agreeing to meet a young fan celebrating their birthday.

On Twitter, a user by the name of Nicole shared a video of a young fan named Brentley who was ecstatic to receive tickets to an upcoming WWE event for his birthday. When Nicole said she and Brentley would love to meet Rhodes, the American Nightmare was confident something could be arranged and wished Brentley a happy birthday.

    Cody Rhodes & The Fans

This is hardly the first time Rhodes has gone the extra mile to make a show special for a fan. Recently, Rhodes got up close and personal with a visually impaired fan at a WWE event who held a sign saying they were trying to see him. This heartwarming interaction came about mere weeks after Rhodes agreed to be the Best Man at a fan’s wedding.

Last year, Rhodes began gifting pieces of tables used in Extreme Rules matches to fans at WWE live events. For the final live Raw of 2023, Rhodes went even further and gifted a Christmas Tree to a fan.

Speaking of the Holidays, Rhodes made one young fan’s season extra special by sending a signed Cody Rhodes authentic weight belt. Rhodes’ gifts to fans have even gone into bizarre territory as the American Nightmare gifted a fan Rhea Ripley’s gum earlier this year

In January 2024, Rhodes agreed to be the best man at a fan’s upcoming wedding. He also gifted tickets to WrestleMania 40 the popular ‘Wrestling Club’ of KIPP AMP Middle School In Brooklyn, New York so they could see him finish the story in person.

Cody’s generosity seemingly knows no bounds and he has shown once again why he can be the face of WWE. Fans can expect much more from Cody Rhodes in this new era, both in and out of the ring.

  • IShowSpeed Wants WWE Event For Content Creators

IShowSpeed Wants WWE Event For Content Creators

WrestleMania 40 may not have gone well for IShowSpeed, but the popular streamer is ready to get back in the ring for a proposed event.

At the 40th ‘Showcase of the Immortals,’ Speed dressed as a bottle of PRIME Energy and aided WWE U.S. Champion Logan Paul in his title defense against Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. The interference would come back to haunt him as he took an RKO by the Viper.

The Big Idea: Content Creator Mania

Now, IShowSpeed is looking to be part of a brand-new concept for WWE. During a recent stream, the popular streamer proposed a WWE show that’d see content creators face off.

“[How about an] event of content creators, a WWE event? I was thinking about that when I was at the WWE.

What if I set up a wrestling.. a WWE event but with content creators? Let me know if that’s a W [win] or an L [loss.]”

While WWE has never hosted a content creator-exclusive event, the idea has been done before. Creator Clash sees content makers face off against each other or athletes. At Content Creator 2 last April, Harley Morenstein, best known for Epic Meal Time, was beaten handily by AEW’s Johnny TV (John Morrison.)

With WWE in its new era, we can’t rule out a show like the one IShowSpeed has suggested. Content Creators have millions of fans that WWE would love nothing more to get hooked on professional wrestling. Logan Paul has already proven that a content creator can make it in the world of wrestling so don’t be surprised if this event happens one day.

  • Jade Cargill Is Waiting For The Right Moment To Use “Viral” Cosplay In WWE

Jade Cargill hasn’t left her cosplay days behind her but the ‘Storm’ is waiting for the right opportunity in WWE to show her costuming skills.

Since joining WWE in September 2023, Cargill has been quite the talking point among fans but has yet to use any of the cosplay costumes that fans saw from her in All Elite Wrestling. Speaking to Evan Mack over WrestleMania week, Cargill suggested that her days cosplaying in the ring are not over just yet.

“I love cosplay. I’m just trying to save it for those phenomenal moments so it can go viral, like all my cosplay that I’ve done for every entrance that I’ve done at AEW, guys.”

    Jade Cargill’s Cosplay

During her AEW run, Cargill used cosplay for several prominent matches with the company. At AEW Revolution, Jade would live up to her name by cosplaying as Jade from the Mortal Kombat video game series.

At the now-infamous AEW All Out 2022 show, Cargill cosplayed as She-Hulk from Marvel Comics. She would also cosplay as Cheetara from the Thundercats series and Miruko from My Hero Academia.

Cargill’s biggest inspiration however is Storm, the X-Men character and inspiration behind her ‘The Storm’ moniker. During an interview with ComicBook.com, Cargill said she’d love to play the Goddess of the Weather in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Yes, I would love to! Guys, Come on guys, like Marvel, do you not see this? We don’t need, what is it called? The enhancement… this is real guys. Come on!”

Cargill is relatively new to her WWE career and the future looks very bright for ‘The Storm.’ With a spotlight on her, expect cosplay from Cargill when the time is right.

  • WWE Superstars To Go Head-to-Head On Upcoming Celebrity Edition Of Family Feud

WWE Superstars To Go Head-to-Head On Upcoming Celebrity Edition Of Family Feud

The Superstars of WWE will be able to flex their game-show muscles as part of an upcoming episode of Celebrity Family Feud.

Taking to Twitter, Bianca Belair shared some photos from the taping and revealed that she is the captain of her team which consists of Belair, Jade Cargill, ‘Michin’ Mia Yim, Sonya Deville, and Zelina Vega.

The quintet of women will be up against Belair’s husband Montez Ford, Angelo Dawkins, Bobby Lashley, SmackDown Tag Team Champion Austin Theory, and LA Knight.

In a tweet of his own, Austin Theory was his usual cocky self at the Celebrity Family Feud taping.

It’s also worth noticing that Sonya Deville was part of the taping and did not need any sort of leg brace. The former Women’s Tag Team Champion has been out of action since June 2023 with an ACL injury, and the fact that she was able to do this taping unimpeded suggests that a return to the ring may be in the near future.

    WWE On Game Shows

WWE appearances on Family Feud date as far back as 1992. In 2022, Rey Mysterio led a team of his family against The Miz. Team Mysterio would feature Dominik mere months before he turned on his Hall of Fame father to join The Judgment Day.

WWE Superstars have also appeared on The Weakest Link, with Triple H, Kane, and Xavier Woods proving their mental superiority in separate episodes. Superstars have also appeared on Wheel of Fortune.

The fact that WWE Superstars are set to appear on the show is another sign of the promotion’s ongoing popularity in the mainstream. With WWE firing on all cylinders right now, expect more big moves by the Superstars both in and out of the ring.

  • Watch: Aljamain Sterling Hits Piledriver At Milestone UFC 300 Event

Aljamain Sterling could have a future in the world of WWE after the fighter pulled off an impressive piledriver at the milestone UFC 300 event.

At the April 13, 2024 event in Paradise, Nevada, Sterling faced off on the preliminary card against Calvin Kattar. As seen in the clip below, Sterling hit a move resembling a piledriver during their fight.

The pair went to three five-minute rounds. Sterling won the fight via unanimous decision. He is currently #2 in the UFC bantamweight rankings.

    WWE & UFC Crossover

Ahead of the show, Triple H promoted UFC 300 as did the official WWE Twitter account in the latest piece of cross-promotion between the two companies who operate under TKO.

WWE featured a big UFC 300 booth at the WWE World convention over WrestleMania weekend in Philadelphia, PA. The exhibit had a punching bag in which attendees could have their power measured.

Several WWE Superstars have competed in both the UFC and WWE. Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar both held gold in both promotions and both headlined pay-per-views for each company, including WrestleMania. Shayna Baszler and Matt Riddle also made their names in the Octagon before stepping into the squared circle.

WWE themes and entrances have also been used at UFC events. Israel Adesanya made headlines when he had an Undertaker-inspired entrance at UFC 276 that caught the attention of the WWE Hall of Famer himself. More recently, Adesanya was spotted training with Damage CTRL’s Dakota Kai

Expect to see more synergy between the two companies this year as the newly formed TKO Group settles in and they explore new opportunities in the world of entertainment.

  • Shawn Michaels Calls AJ Styles His Dream Match But Believes Window of Opportunity Has Closed

Shawn Michaels Calls AJ Styles His Dream Match But Believes Window of Opportunity Has Closed

Shawn Michaels would have loved for the chance to step in the ring with AJ Styles but believes the time for such a dream showdown has come and gone.

Styles didn’t officially join WWE until 2016, at which point Mr. WrestleMania had been retired for close to six years. Speaking recently to Gorilla Position, Michaels was asked about his dream match and set his sights on the Phenomenal One.

“I think the one I really want to see is me and AJ. That’s where I go with. It’s also, as you know, more talent comes along and you start looking at them. I always, I still do it now. I look at them like ‘Oh boy. I could do cool stuff with him.’  But I think AJ, I think AJ and I [have] got similar styles and stuff like that so I always feel that would be what people would want to see. So that would be my go to [answer.]”

When asked if there’s a chance of the match happening or if it’ll remain in WWE 2K24, Michaels admitted that there’s slim chance of either possibility.

“Well [for] one, I couldn’t even play it in the game now. That’s how slow I am. But I think that time has passed. It’s time for generations to move on.”

    The Dream Match

This match never happened, though not for lack of trying by the Phenomenal One. During a 2019 interview with WWE, Styles revealed that he requested a match with Shawn but Michaels said he couldn’t do anything about it at the time.

Ultimately, the match can’t happen these days, and even if it could, Michaels would not be able to go at the level he did 20+ years ago. Nevertheless, the two men have forged incredible careers in their own rights.

  • Je’Von Evans Appreciates Support From Fans & Wrestlers After Comments from Racist Podcaster

Je’Von Evans Appreciates Support From Fans & Wrestlers After Comments from Racist Podcaster

WWE NXT Superstar Je’Von Evans has shared his appreciation for the support shown him following a racist comment by an infamous podcast.

During the April 9, episode of WWE NXT, Evans made his in-ring debut as part of the gold brand with a hard-earned victory over Scrypts. Between this and a promo package that aired during WWE NXT Stand & Deliver, the future looks very bright for the 19-year-old Superstar.

On his podcast, Kevin Scampoli made disgusting comments when watching a post-match interview with Evans. Scampoli said that Evans is a “slave” and was working under “some off-camera Jew.” This comment earned countless responses from fans as well as some in the wrestling industry as you can see below.

Responding to this wave of support, Je’Von tweeted his appreciation, but believes it’s now time to “get back to work.” The young Superstar also promoted an upcoming WWE Live appearance.

Following this support for Evans, Scampoli also responded, saying that Evans was no longer considered a “slave” but instead a “house n*****” and did not censor his use of the word. Because of the clearly unacceptable language, a clip will not be shared here.

    Kevin Scampoli

Scampoli’s comments represent his work attitude and the fact that he can only get attention for being controversial rather than providing constructive insight into the world of professional wrestling. Scampoli previously got attention for himself for mocking Kayla Braxton for being conceived when her mother was the victim of r*pe.

Scampoli was also part of the infamous podcast episode with Sammy Guevara in which the pair discussed wanting to r*pe Mercedes Mone (Sasha Banks at the time.)  Guevara would be suspended from AEW, undergo a sensitivity course and would apologize for his comments. There have been no issues between himself and Mone as he, unlike Scampoli, clearly learned from his behavior.

  • Tables, Ladders, Chairs & The Undertaker?! Wrestling Gender Reveal Match Goes Viral

A unique gender reveal party recently went viral as two wrestlers fought to reveal the sex of a couple in attendance at the match.

The match starts with two wrestlers, donned in pink and blue and despite the size disadvantage, blue dominates the early portion of the match. Pink turns the tide by introducing a table and the two competitors would introduce a steel chair and a ladder shortly after.

A glass bottle to the head of Pink saved Blue from being pinned, and he’d muster an Undertaker-inspired comeback to get the win. After the match, the expecting couple celebrated that they were having a boy. While officials tried to stretcher Pink away, his weight proved to be too much for them.

You can check out the hysterical gender reveal match below.

    When Wrestling Goes Viral

This gender reveal isn’t the first time that the world of professional wrestling has gone viral outside of a traditional wrestling promotion. In March, a fan of WWE arrived to his own wedding with a Bloodline-inspired entrance, in which they served as the Roman Reigns of the group. Reigns would even react on Twitter to say that the union had been “acknowledged.”

Showing your love for wrestling on your big day has happened multiple times over the years. During a wedding a few years ago, the bride arrived to Becky Lynch’s music and set the tone for the ceremony with some kendo stick shots.

Weddings and gender reveals are huge moments in people’s lives and giving them a wrestling twist is a fun play on the traditional. And we imagine that the couple’s future son may be interested in professional wrestling once he arrives in the world.

  • NXT UK Assistant General Manager Sid Scala Released From WWE

NXT UK Assistant General Manager Sid Scala Released From WWE

The new era of WWE will not go ahead with Sid Scala as the British Superstar has been cut from the company.

Scala’s exit was first reported by PW Insider. He had been a part of WWE ever since the launch of the NXT UK brand in 2017. As part of the brand, Scala would serve as the Assistant General Manager to British wrestling legend Johnny Saint.

Scala would have a handful of matches as part of NXT UK and would rack up an unfortunate 0-5 record in WWE. His final match as part of the company would see him lose to Kassius Ohno as part of the September 1, 2019, tapings.

Outside of WWE, Scala has wrestled for PROGRESS Wrestling and CZW, as well as the defunct Global Force Wrestling. His most recent match was a loss at PROGRESS Chapter 97 in October 2019.

    WWE Exits

Scala is the latest name to have left WWE recently. Mere hours before his exit from WWE went public, it was reported that Sue Aitchison had left the company after a 38-year run. Aitchison had been WWE’s Director of Community Relations and had been crucial in WWE’s relationship with Make-A-Wish. She also portrayed the ‘Duchess of Queensbury’ at Backlash 2001.

Dan Ventrelle also recently left WWE and had been the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations. Trent Wilfinger, the Senior Vice President of Athlete ID & Development has also parted ways with the company.

The post-WrestleMania season is usually the time when WWE undergoes ‘spring cleaning’ and releases talent they aren’t using. While this is a new era, it remains to be seen if more follow Scala in the days to come.

  • Kenny Omega: Sometimes A Backstage Fight Is Needed, It’s Not Meant to Be Shown On-Screen

Kenny Omega: Sometimes A Backstage Fight Is Needed, It’s Not Meant to Be Shown On-Screen

Kenny Omega has said that sometimes, a backstage fight or two is what it takes in wrestling for wrestlers with grievances to let it all out.

Since 2022, the topic of backstage fights has cast a dark cloud over AEW, of which Omega is an Executive Vice President. Speaking about All Out 2022 during a recent Twitch stream, Omega admitted that he is of the belief that sometimes, a fight is needed to let things out, but admits this isn’t the right stance in 2024.

    https://twitter.com/puroresuflow/status/1779147574311535003

“I’ve played a lot of contact sports and I’ve gotten into jiu-jitsu and boxing and mixed martial arts… Sometimes emotions will get the best of you and people will want to throw hands. I am unfortunately, or fortunately a believer of it, I think that if it’s decided ‘Hey, this is the best way to solve things’ and you can shake hands after and move on after, I’m actually a believer of fighting.

“I am and it sounds terrible to say and that’s why, don’t make me an EVP in 2024. You can’t do that stuff anymore. I just feel that sometimes that’s how you have to settle things. Sometimes.”

AEW All Out 2022’s backstage fight, now known as ‘Brawl Out,’ would not be the last backstage fight, as Jack Perry and CM Punk would get physical at AEW All In: London less than a year later. Footage from the fight was recently aired on AEW Dynamite though many believe the move to ‘stick it’ to Punk has backfired on Tony Khan.

During the stream, Omega didn’t mention the All In fight or Khan’s decision to air the footage directly, but said that such fights aren’t meant to be shown on screen.

“I don’t mean you have to settle it and then it be shown on screen to everyone or people have to brag online about who won [or] who lost. No, it’s not for that purpose. It’s for the purpose of getting that stuff out that you need to get out.”

Ultimately, AEW has aired the footage from All In and that can’t be undone. Many now believe though that AEW and Khan are regretting the decision, as many videos of the footage shared online are being flagged by the promotion.

As for Omega, he is continuing to recover from diverticulitis and it remains unclear when he will be back in the ring. We’re continuing to wish him a full and speedy recovery.

  • Riho Back in Japan to Renew Visa, No Idea When AEW Return Will Happen

Riho Back in Japan to Renew Visa, No Idea When AEW Return Will Happen

Fans wanting to see Riho back in the ring will have to keep waiting as the former AEW Women’s World Champion is currently in Japan to renew her work Visa.

Despite being one of the earliest names signed to AEW, fans haven’t seen much of Riho as of late. In a social media post, the inaugural AEW Women’s World Champion shared that she’s currently in Japan and is waiting for her Visa to be renewed. Riho added that she does not know when she will be returning to AEW programming.

Riho’s social media post explaining her absence.

Riho has competed just seven times for AEW over the past 12 months. Her most recent match was on the AEW Dynamite ‘Big Business’ show in March of 2024. She was defeated by Willow Nightingale.

    Visa Issues

Riho Isn’t the only name to be dealing with Visa issues. Jay White was absent from AEW’s recent events in Canada and it was reported that was due to Visa problems prohibiting him from working in the Great White North.

Rush’s most recent match for AEW was at Worlds End and saw him on the losing side of an eight-man tag-team match. Not only is Rush dealing with Visa issues, but he has also been recovering from an injury.

Katsutori Shibata had to return to Japan in November 2023 due to Visa issues. This resulted in him relinquishing the Ring of Honor PURE Championship to Wheeler Yuta. This was hardly the biggest setback of his career though, as Shibata nearly died after a match with Kazuchika Okada in 2017. He now plans to end his wrestling career with AEW

Visa issues are an unfortunate side-effect of wrestlers who seek success outside of their home country. Hopefully, it won’t be long before Riho has things sorted and is back in an AEW ring once more.

  • Miro Shares Details On AEW Absence, Has a Great Relationship with Tony Khan

Miro Shares Details On AEW Absence, Has a Great Relationship with Tony Khan

AEW’s Miro is working hard to recover from his latest injury setback but there’s no word on when fans can expect the Bulgarian back in action.

Fans last saw Miro in the ring at AEW Worlds End where he defeated Andrade El Idolo thanks to an assist from CJ Perry. A lot has changed since then, including Andrade’s returning to WWE in January 2024 and Perry and Miro announcing their separation

Sitting down with Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge, Miro was asked about his ongoing absence from AEW and shared that he’s dealing with multiple injuries.

“I have a shoulder injury and an elbow injury that occurred late last year, so finally took care of it late January. Got a whole bunch of shots and now I’m recovering.”

Miro added that he plans on coming back “better than ever” but there’s no word on when that’ll be, leaving fans to wonder what’s next for the former TNT Champion.

    Working with Tony Khan

Miro’s return was supposed to come as part of the ‘Meat Madness’ match at AEW Revolution that was scrapped as both Miro and Keith Lee couldn’t compete. Despite this, Miro maintains a positive relationship with the AEW President.

Tony’s great, man. He’s creative, his mind is running always, he always thinks about wrestling, he’s always thinking about how to get things better. So I respect that. I respect that he loves wrestling.”

Miro’s stance on Khan is an interesting one considering that the AEW President has often overlooked the former TNT Champion. In fact, Miro’s absence from programming in 2023 (that wasn’t due to injury) led to Miro’s then-wife CJ Perry claiming Khan was playing favorites

Miro’s future remains uncertain, though he said in the interview that he’d love to face AEW World Champion Samoa Joe or AEW TNT Champion Adam Copeland. And while some of Khan’s decisions may not have gone down well with many, Miro is pleased to be a part of AEW.

  • Watch: Matt Riddle Walks Out After Losing NJPW World TV Championship

Watch: Matt Riddle Walks Out After Losing NJPW World TV Championship

Matt Riddle was in no mood to stick around after losing the NJPW World Television Championship at NJPW Windy City Riot 2024.

Riddle lost the gold to Zack Sabre Jr. at the April 12, event from Chicago, IL. After the pinfall loss, Riddle immediately got out of the ring and walked to the back, laughing and dancing without any regard for the outcome. This is hardly a good look for Riddle as it seems that the title meant nothing to him

This win makes Sabre the first-ever two-time NJPW World TV Champion. He was the inaugural champion and won the title at Wrestle Kingdom in January 2017 and held the title for exactly one year.

    NJPW Windy City Riot Highlights

Riddle’s behavior wasn’t the only notable part of New Japan’s Windy City Riot event. The show also saw Jon Moxley become IWGP World Heavyweight Champion with a main event win over Tetsuya Naito. The win makes Moxley the first man in history to have held the WWE, AEW, and New Japan World Championships.

Jack Perry also competed at NJPW Windy City Riot in a loss to Shota Umino. For his entrance, Perry wore a jacket emblazoned with the message ‘CRY ME A RIVER.’ This was an obvious nod to Perry’s backstage altercation with CM Punk at AEW All In: London which resulted in both being suspended and Punk later being fired.

AEW broadcasted the backstage footage during a segment on AEW Dynamite but removed the footage when uploading the segment in question to YouTube

  • Vince McMahon’s Remaining TKO Group Holdings Shares Registered for Sale

Vince McMahon’s Remaining TKO Group Holdings Shares Registered for Sale

The Vince McMahon era is indeed coming to an end as the ex-WWE Chairman’s remaining shares in TKO Group Holdings have been listed for sale.

A filing published on April 12 revealed that 8,021,405 TKO shares belonging to Vince McMahon had been registered for sale. This allows for the shares to be bought and sold with less administrative friction. This move doesn’t necessarily mean that Vince will be selling all of his shares, although he might. Should every share be sold, it would mean that McMahon has no official stake in TKO Group Holdings.

This move comes mere days after McMahon sold 1.642 million shares to Endeavor while TKO purchased 1.853 million shares. These two sales earned McMahon an approximate $293 million.

McMahon unloaded 5.35 million shares in early March and sold 3.48 million more shares that same month. With his 8,021,405 shares, McMahon retains a 4.7% stake in TKO.

    A New Era Dawns

McMahon’s selling of shares comes at a pivotal time for WWE as the promotion continues to distance itself from the former Chairman. Over WrestleMania week, there was a lot of talk of a ‘new era’ in WWE with Stephanie McMahon calling this the ‘Paul Levesque Era’ during WrestleMania 40: Sunday.

It’s hard not to notice this ‘new era’ both on WWE programming and behind the scenes. WWE’s changes to its on-screen production have been praised by fans who appreciate the new style of Lee Fitting who has replaced company veteran Kevin Dunn. Behind the scenes, Dan Ventrelle has left WWE as the company’s Head of Talent Relations with Triple H and Shawn Michaels overseeing both talent and talent development.

  • You Forgot About Us: WWE Continues Ominous Teases On 4/12 Post-WrestleMania SmackDown

You Forgot About Us: WWE Continues Ominous Teases On 4/12 Post-WrestleMania SmackDown

The WWE Universe was once again given an ominous message via a ‘glitch’ as part of the April 12, post-WrestleMania 40 edition of WWE SmackDown.

The glitch occurred during a tag-team match pitting Chelsea Green & Piper Niven against Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. Though it appeared for a fraction of a second, eagle-eyed fans were able to spot the message ‘you forgot about us.’

What does this message on WWE SmackDown mean?

This wasn’t the only bizarre message in store for the fans who attended WWE SmackDown in Detroit. Before the show, eerie music was played, and the video screens displayed the WWE SmackDown logo in black and white.

    What Does This Mean?

These incidents at the April 12, episode of WWE SmackDown aren’t the only bizarre sightings as of late. During the post-WrestleMania 40 edition of Raw, a ‘glitch’ during a promo with ‘Big’ Bronson Reed bore the message ‘hello.’

The prevailing theory among fans is that this is setting up the return of Uncle Howdy, who was portrayed by Bo Dallas in 2022 and 2023. The character was introduced following Bray Wyatt’s return at WWE Extreme Rules 2022 but was pulled from TV alongside Wyatt in early 2023. As one fan with a good memory pointed out on Twitter, Howdy previously described himself as ‘us’ during a segment.

The ‘us’ line has also had fans speculating that Uncle Howdy will not return alone, and that Alexa Bliss’ return to programming may be drawing near. Bliss was once associated with Wyatt but hasn’t competed in over a year due to pregnancy. The former Women’s Champion gave birth to daughter Hendrix last year. Before plans were nixed due to Bray’s illness, there were reported plans for a ‘Wyatt 6’ faction that would’ve included Uncle Howdy.

  • Vix Crow (Alicia Fox) Victorious In First Wrestling Match in Years at Starrcast: Down Under

Vix Crow, better known to fans as WWE’s Alicia Fox, proved she’s still got ‘it’ with an impressive victory in her first wrestling match in a very long time.

Crow competed against fellow WWE alum Mickie James at the all-female Starrcast: Down Under ‘HER’ event. As seen in the match highlights below, Crow hadn’t lost a step when she defeated the former WWE & TNA Women’s Champion.

This match was Crow’s first official match in wrestling since January 2022 when she was a surprise entrant in the WWE Women’s Royal Rumble match won by Ronda Rousey (which also featured James.) The match at ‘HER’ was Crow’s first singles match since the April 22, 2019, edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, where she lost to Becky Lynch. Her previous singles victory was back on the July 30, 2018, episode of Raw where she defeated Natalya.

    Vix Crow is Back

Crow was with WWE for over a decade but confirmed in May 2023 that she was a free agent. Crow later admitted that she felt bad about how things ended with WWE as there was a lack of communication by the promotion over her status on the roster.

Whether Vix Crow wrestles again or if her role at Starrcast was a one-off remains to be seen. In the past, the former WWE Divas & 24/7 Champion has shown interest in facing off with Deonna Purrazzo and Ruby Soho, both of whom are with AEW. Whatever the future holds, Crow remains in great ring condition which certainly bodes well for her future.

  • Jon Moxley Wins IWGP World Heavyweight Title with Historic Victory at NJPW Windy City Riot

Jon Moxley Wins IWGP World Heavyweight Title with Historic Victory at NJPW Windy City Riot

AEW’s Jon Moxley has added another massive accomplishment to his legendary career by becoming the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

In the main event of NJPW Windy City Riot, Moxley dethroned Tetsuya Naito for the gold. Naito had held the title since Wrestle Kingdom 18 in January 2024, where he had dethroned Sanada.

Not only did Moxley win the gold, but he has also made history in the process. With this victory, the AEW star has become the first person to win the richest prize in New Japan, All Elite Wrestling, and WWE.

Renee Paquette & Tony Khan Show Support

Moxley had two important allies by his side for his latest World Championship victory, most importantly his wife Renee Paquette:

AEW President Tony Khan was also spotted at the event and congratulated Mox on winning New Japan’s top prize in the same building where he first won the AEW World Championship.

One fan attempted to call him out for attending NJPW Windy City Riot instead of his own show, AEW Rampage, which also aired Friday night (but was taped earlier in the week). Khan joked that it was a ‘Friday Night Timecop’ situation, a reference to the 1994 Jean-Claude Van Damme about a time-traveling law enforcement officer.

    Cry Me a River

Moxley wasn’t the only notable name at NJPW Windy City Riot, as Jack Perry competed against Shota Umino in a losing effort. As you can watch below, Perry arrived to his match with a jacket emblazoned with the message ‘CRY ME A RIVER,’ a nod to his backstage altercation with CM Punk at All In: London that AEW recently aired.
