At Extreme Rules 2022, Bray Wyatt made his return to WWE, the culmination of the much-acclaimed ‘White Rabbit’ series of cryptic messages. Not long after, the WWE Universe was introduced to the enigmatic Uncle Howdy, as played by Wyatt’s real-life brother Bo Dallas, but there was reportedly another person planned to be introduced.
Like Wyatt and Dallas, Eric Young returned to WWE in late 2022 after being cut from the company in April 2020. Speaking to Chris Van Vliet of Insight, the former Sanity member shared what WWE had intended for him.
“The original idea was me, Bray, and Bo as a trio. That’s what was told to me from Hunter basically. Obviously, I’m gonna jump at that, I’m friends with both of those guys. Creatively, it would’ve been just an unbelievable opportunity.
“Working there, working on the main roster, wrestling all over the world with two guys that I get along with well. Obviously, a huge part of the show at that point, The Fiend and Bray was one of the most popular things at that time.”
Tragically, Wyatt’s return to WWE was cut short as he was pulled from programming in early 2023 due to health issues and passed away aged 36 in August. Young would part ways with WWE in 2023, having never returned to programming. On the podcast, Young shared that he departed WWE as he refused to work under Vince McMahon, who had strong-armed his way back into the company in January.
While plans for Wyatt, Howdy, and Young never made it to TV, the Wyatt Sicks, as led by Uncle Howdy, serves as a tribute to the late wrestler and as a formidable quintet on Monday Night Raw. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest from the Wyatt Sicks and the work of Uncle Howdy.
Netflix’s Mr. McMahon docuseries was released last month and has given viewers an in-depth look into Vince McMahon, even if the six-part series is light on new information. In addition to Vince, several members of the McMahon family were interviewed, but Linda was reluctant to share according to the show’s consulting producer.
Speaking to the SI Media Podcast, David Shoemaker was asked if Vince McMahon was forthcoming with information and shared how Linda was reluctant to speak.
“You asked about Vince not giving you anything, Linda was not the most forthcoming person in that interview either. I think I was there for that one, I don’t even remember if there was more good stuff on the cutting room floor. I certainly wish we could have gotten more details about that from her. It’s a very business relationship, I would say.”
It’s hardly a surprise that Linda, who remains a name in politics, was hardly eager to talk about WWE’s past controversies, many of which occurred under her watch as CEO. Similarly, Linda would be understandably reluctant to speak on her husband’s infidelity and alleged trafficking of Janel Grant, the topic for Mr. McMahon’s sixth and final episode.
Linda McMahon hasn’t appeared for WWE in years but her name remains known to countless wrestling fans around the world. While the former CEO of WWE would have endless stories about the company, fans may never hear about the seedier side of wrestling from the 75-year-old.
This week, WWE NXT launched on The CW with a stacked two-hour show that saw top names from the silver brand as well as WWE’s main roster. With title matches and appearances by Hall of Famers, there was plenty to see in Chicago’s All-State Arena, and NXT on The CW is off to a strong start in the ratings.
WWE NXT’s debut episode on The CW drew 895,000 viewers, Wrestlenomics reports, way up on the previous episode’s 620,000 on the USA Network. This week’s number is the fifth-highest number for WWE NXT since its move to cable television back in September 2019. The last time WWE NXT did better was the October 10, 2023, episode, which did 921,000 viewers and saw the show go head-to-head with AEW Dynamite.
The launch of WWE NXT was a ratings hit despite fierce competition from the U.S. Vice Presidential debate that aired the same night. The debate between Democrat Tim Walz and Republican JD Vance scored 43.15 million viewers across 15 networks, according to The Hollywood Reporter, with 40.25 million coming from CNN, FOX News, and MNSBC.)
WWE NXT – October 1
The launch of WWE NXT on The CW was a historic night for the revamped silver brand of WWE. Check out some of the exciting moments from this week’s show in Chicago below.
At WWE Bad Blood, Cody Rhodes will team with Roman Reigns to take on The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, in the OTC’s first match since WrestleMania. On The Pat McAfee Show, Rhodes talked all things WWE including plans for WrestleMania 41, but did the Undisputed WWE Champion also accidentally reveal a huge return?
After the show wrapped up, Cody was saying his goodbyes to the crew when McAfee told the American Nightmare “I heard the big guy is coming back this week.” Taken aback, Rhodes asked “is he?” to which McAfee retorted, “You tell me.” Cody responded by saying “Which one?” before McAfee walked off, saying “You told me all I need to know.”

Given Rhodes’ upcoming match with The Bloodline and their recent history, many fans on social media have seen ‘The Big Guy’ as referencing The Rock. As a leading man in Hollywood, one of WWE’s top names in history, and a member of TKO’s Board of Directors, the ‘Final Boss’ certainly fits the moniker of a big guy. On the post-WrestleMania 40 WWE Raw, The Rock vowed to return and confront Cody Rhodes, with reported plans for a showdown at WrestleMania 41.
A less likely option is Brock Lesnar, another huge Superstar who is a verifiable ‘big guy’ in the world of WWE. Like Rock, Lesnar has his own history with Rhodes, as Cody’s victory over Brock at SummerSlam was the latter’s most recent WWE match. However, WWE has avoided using Lesnar due to him being tied to Janel Grant’s lawsuit against WWE, as the former employee alleges that she was trafficked to a former UFC Heavyweight Champion by McMahon and John Laurinaitis.
Chris Jericho held the ROH World Championship for a handful of months in 2022, in Jericho’s first-ever title reign as part of the promotion. Now, Jericho plans on holding the gold again, and used some shocking tactics to get into the head of champion Mark Briscoe.
On Dynamite’s fifth anniversary, Jericho hosted a Learning Tree segment in the ring with Big Bill and Bryan Keith. Now dubbing himself ‘The Nueve’ Jericho challenged Briscoe to a ROH World Championship match at AEW WrestleDream.
Briscoe came out to accept the match, adding that Jericho’s recent victory over him came thanks to interference by Big Bill. It was here that Jericho sunk to a new low as he said that Mark Briscoe couldn’t beat him before stating that his brother, Jay Briscoe, could have. Jericho went on to say that everyone knows that Mark will never be as good as Jay was. Mark responded by dropping Jericho with a shot to the jaw and promised a Briscoe brother-style ass-whooping at WrestleDream.
Chris Jericho made his challenge to #ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe for #AEWWrestleDream way too personal.
Jay Briscoe sadly passed in January 2023 in a car crash, mere minutes from his home in Laurel, Delaware. Tributes to Jay have poured in from the wrestling world and a locker room was named in his memory at the school where his daughters, who were injured in the crash, attend.
The loss of his brother left Mark contemplating retirement, but the remaining Briscoe has not only continued in the ring but is thriving as ROH World Champion. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest from AEW WrestleDream including breaking news and live results.
At AEW WrestleDream, Bryan Danielson will defend his AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley in what is bound to be a violent contest between the former allies. The match will take place in Tacoma, Washington, just a stone’s throw from Bryan’s home in Aberdeen, and one local comic store has given the American Dragon an incentive to win.
If Danielson retains the gold at WrestleDream on October 12, Destiny City Comics will give away a free comic book to everyone who visits the store the next day. This was confirmed by the store’s owner Ethan, who also has experience in the ring.
Not to put any additional pressure on @bryandanielson, but if he retains the @AEW Championship here in Tacoma, I'll give everyone who comes by Destiny City Comics a free comic book the next day on Oct. 13th. pic.twitter.com/2y28mVEXQb
Bryan’s match with Moxley won’t just be about the AEW World Championship but the nature of the company itself. Since turning on Danielson at AEW All Out, Moxley has said he and his allies will create something that’ll last for years in AEW, a company that, in Moxley’s eyes, has been overcome with clashing egos. This is a daunting task that Bryan doesn’t “have the stomach for,” hence the betrayal last month in Illinois.
With Danielson being open about his career winding down, and of the opinion that neck surgery is in his near future, high-profile matches such as this one will become less and less frequent soon enough. Until then though, this match could result in a lot of happy comic book readers in the city of Tacoma. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest from AEW WrestleDream 2024, including breaking news and live results from next week’s show in Tacoma, Washington.
At WWE NXT Battleground, the brand introduced the NXT Women’s North American Championship, the first-ever Women’s mid-card title in company history. Many individuals, both in and out of WWE, believe that such a title should be introduced to the main roster and Drew McIntyre has now thrown his support behind the idea.
“That’s certainly something that’s going to come around in the near future… The women have been killing it for years now.”
McIntyre made clear that a Women’s mid-card title wouldn’t be introduced for the sake of it, but that the roster has shown why such a title needs to exist.
“There’s so many characters the women’s division has gotten over now. We’re at a point where if there’s a second title introduced, it’s absolutely justified.”
The Call For A Women’s Mid-Card Title
McIntyre is just the latest notable name to advocate for a women’s mid-card championship on WWE’s main roster. Here are some examples of others who back the idea.
CM Punk proved to be an impartial official during WWE NXT’s premiere on The CW which went off the air with Trick Williams winning the NXT Championship. After the match though, Punk hit his signature GTS on Ethan Page, an act that hasn’t gone down well with the now-former champion.
— Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com (@SeanRossSapp) October 2, 2024
In his first comments after losing the NXT Championship, Page shared photos of himself and his daughter on Twitter. The ‘All Ego’ Superstar didn’t reference Punk by name, but commented that “He’s been known to ruin locker rooms” and that Punk has ruined his life as well.
Punk’s infamous ‘locker room ruining’ ways would be on full display at AEW All Out 2022 where he made a series of incendiary comments on the post-show. Those comments, coupled with the backstage fight, would see Punk suspended from AEW for months and forever changed his relationship with Tony Khan’s promotion.
Given the hostility between Page and Punk during the NXT Championship match, fans are excited at the prospect of a match between the two Superstars. In the meantime, CM Punk will enter Hell in a Cell this weekend to face Drew McIntyre at WWE Bad Blood. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest from WWE NXT’s new era on The CW as well as the career of CM Punk.
In recent days, the wrestling world has been concerned over the whereabouts of Journey Fatu, a member of the famed Fatu family who had been ‘missing’ and unable to contact. Journey’s alleged situation had been shared online by fellow wrestler Juicy Finau, who has this week apologized to fans who have taken issue with what’s turned out to be an angle.
On Twitter, Finau shared that he was sorry for “any emotional damage and distress” caused by the angle, which has been in the works since early August. Finau said he wasn’t aware of “the situation that is currently happening in the real world,” likely referring to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene that has killed over 100 people and impacted countless others. Finau added that the ‘missing’ Journey storyline “blew up” and again apologized to those offended.
Unfortunately I wasn’t aware of the situation that is currently happening in the real world. I want to apologize for My ignorance to current world events. I am sorry
To those I have offended with this I apologize sincerely.
This angle raises the question as to what is the line in pro wrestling when an angle goes from a gripping, envelope-pushing work of fiction to an offensive way to make money. WWE is no stranger to controversial angles, such as the use of the passing of Eddie Guerrero in November 2005, with many heels using his death for heat. In 2003, Triple H and Booker T had a feud that many felt had racially offensive undertones, though Booker has said he approved of the entire angle and its verbiage at the time.
More recently, controversial angles were brought up in Netflix’s Mr. McMahon docuseries, such as Trish Stratus being forced to bark like a dog for McMahon in 2001. In the series, Stratus defended the angle, saying that the “sensitive scene” elicited the right response from fans who were angry at the evil Mr. McMahon character.
While Journey’s brother Jacob Fatu is making huge waves in WWE as part of The Bloodline, his career, and that of Juicy Finau, could be seriously impacted by this controversial angle. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest from the world of wrestling and the angles that some believe go too far.
In the main event of WWE Monday Night Raw, Braun Strowman defeated Bronson Reed in the Last Monster Standing match, thanks to a timely assist from the returning Seth Rollins. While Braun proved to be the true monster of WWE, more has come to light about the former Universal Champion’s condition after this match.
On Wrestling Observer Live, it was reported that Strowman suffered an injury during the match with Reed. Braun was seen grabbing his thigh/groin area after being hit with a Samoan Drop by Reed and was seen limping for the remainder of the match. Similarly, Braun was unable to build momentum when running, and after knocking Reed off the apron for a spot, the referee was “furiously communicating with the back” about an issue.
The concern within WWE is that Strowman has suffered a torn groin and that’s “certainly what they thought” after the match. This comes mere months after Braun returned to WWE programming in April after a year-long hiatus following neck fusion surgery. In July, Strowman shared that his knees have been ‘banged up’ and that he would be visiting a doctor to learn more.
Losing Strowman to the injured list is the last thing WWE Raw needs, especially with Ilja Dragunov set to miss months of action with an ACL injury. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on Braun Strowman and the physical condition of the Monster Among Men.
The NWA World’s Championship has been held by some of the all-time greats with Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, and Harley Race among its esteemed lineage. Now, Thom Latimer can add his name to that illustrious collection after finning the gold at NWA 76.
Latimer dethroned EC3 to capture the NWA World’s Championship at NWA 76, which is being aired as part of NWA Powerrr on X. The show had been taped on August 31, but was aired on a delay on October 1. EC3 had held the gold for 370 days at the time of the match after ending the reign and career of Tyrus at NWA 75 in August 2023.
Latimer is the third British wrestler to capture the NWA World’s Championship and follows in the footsteps of Gary Steele and Nick Aldis. Steele’s win at NWA 51 in September 1999 only saw him hold the gold for seven days and never defended the title in the UK. Aldis on the other hand, held the title for a combined 1,309 with the SmackDown General Manager boasting two reigns.
Now, it’s Latimer’s time to hold the coveted ten pounds of gold and lead the National Wrestling Alliance into the future with Billy Corgan at the helm. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on the NWA and the reign of new NWA World’s Champion Thom Latimer.
In recent days, Hurricane Helene has ravaged the United States, with at least 125 people losing their lives and many more being affected. Alongside national assistance, individuals have been trying to do what they can to help out, and the world of wrestling is opening its hearts, and its wallets, to those in need.
AEW’s Cash Wheeler has launched a GoFundMe to help those affected by Hurricane Helene which has proven to be a huge success. The fundraiser has already smashed past its original goal of $25,000 USD and at this time, is sitting at over $53,000.
Here are some notable names from wrestling who have pitched in:
AEW President Tony Khan – $10,000
Chris Jericho – $5,000
Nick Massie (aka Nick Jackson) – $2,000
Orange Cassidy – $1,500
Pamela Martinez (aka Bayley) – $1,250
MJF – $1,000
Matt Cardona – $500
Cezar Bononi – $300
Hurricane Helene has affected several plans in the world of wrestling, with MLW canceling its October 4, event due to the storm. TNA has similarly canceled its upcoming tapings in Spartanburg, South Carolina, that had been scheduled for October 4. CJ Perry’s mother was left stranded due to the storm, as was her father, though Perry has since shared that her mom and dad have now been reunited.
Hurricane Helene has devastated lives, and Wheeler’s GoFundMe will do a lot of good to help those most in need. We here at SEScoops are sending our very best wishes to those affected by Hurricane Helene.
WWE NXT is home to a talented roster of women with names including Roxanne Perez, Giulia, the recently returning Cora Jade, and many more. Now, Australian wrestler Delta is on her way to the silver brand after being teased on WWE NXT’s premiere episode on The CW.
News of Delta’s signing was first broken by Fightful Select in July of this year, after she attended WWE’s tryouts in February during the week of Elimination Chamber: Perth. Delta was allowed to finish her independent dates after signing with WWE, with her final match being in her native Australia for Riot City Wrestling against her brother.
Now, Delta will be joining the ranks of WWE NXT which has kicked off its new era on The CW, and will bring her signature hard-hitting style to the women of the silver brand. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Delta and future changes to the WWE NXT roster.
After five years as part of the USA Network, WWE NXT has launched on The CW with an exciting two-hour show from the All-State Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The move marks the dawn of a new era for WWE NXT so it’s fitting that the gold brand has received a brand-new look.
New Logo
The new NXT logo is a silver logo, ending the use of black, yellow, and gold that has been in use since the show was first introduced as a game show back in February 2010.
With a new logo, WWE has created new championship designs for WWE NXT featuring the silver re-design. The company was wasted no time in releasing the brand-new NXT and NXT Women’s Championships on WWEShop.com.
New Entrance
The opening video includes some of the top names currently found in WWE NXT including Ethan Page, Trick Williams, Oba Femi, Roxanne Perez and many more. The new theme song for WWE NXT is ‘Millions From Now’ by 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne.
Neither man is a stranger to WWE, with 2 Chainz Gold Rush being used as the theme song of SummerSlam 2013 while We Own It (Fast & Furious) was the song for Royal Rumble 2014. Lil Wayne appeared on Let It Rock, the theme of Royal Rumble 2009, and Champion, the theme of Night of Champions 2012. He also appeared in person earlier this year, performing at WrestleMania 40 ahead of Jey Uso’s victory over his brother Jimmy.
WWE NXT has undergone a lot of changes with its relaunch on The CW, but one thing that hasn’t changed is the brand’s mission to provide entertaining matches and prepare talent for a future on WWE’s main roster. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on WWE NXT in its new home on a new network.
In the 2010s, no catchphrase took the wrestling world by storm like ‘YES YES YES’ as used by Daniel Bryan during his rise to the top of WWE. The three-word phrase was used on countless pieces of merchandise during Bryan’s time with the company, and though that tenure ended over three years ago, WWE isn’t ready to part ways with the phrase.
WWE has filed a trademark for YES YES YES with the USPTO for the use on various pieces of merchandise. WWE’s move to own the term comes after Bryan (now Bryan Danielson in AEW) filed for the term in July of this year. Speaking ahead of All In: London 2024 with Luke James Chats, Danielson shared that his manager told him that the term was available and didn’t cost much to trademark.
Following his application, Bryan claims he was sent a legal form of some kind by WWE that insinuated that he was infringing on something WWE owned, despite the term being available to be trademarked. As of September 20, the filing was labeled as abandoned.
Danielson certainly has shown no sign of returning to WWE, as he not only holds the AEW World Championship but has actively spoken about winding down his career in the ring. Nevertheless, WWE is seeking the term for the use on merchandise that one would assume would be about AEW’s resident American Dragon. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest trademark news as well as news on the AEW World Champion.
Black Label Pro Wrestling is an Indiana-based promotion that since 2017 has hosted shows and built up a loyal legion of fans. Unfortunately for those fans, they’ve seen the last of Black Label Pro for the time being as the company is going on a hiatus.
On Twitter, Black Label Pro shared that its Fancy Wrestling event, scheduled for October 12, has been canceled, as have all other upcoming events. The statement also confirmed that tickets have been submitted and refunds and fans were thanked for their support.
Unfortunately we have decided to cancel Fancy Wrestling and the rest of the events upcoming.
We are going on a hiatus for the time being.
All tickets have already been submitted for refunds.
Fancy Wrestling was set to take place at Crown Point, Indiana and was set to feature a stacked card including Raj Dhesi. The former WWE Superstar debuted for BLP shortly after his non-compete clause expired, and captured the BLP World Championship in his first post-WWE match in July of this year.
Though a relatively new company compared to the likes of WWE, TNA Wrestling, or Ring of Honor, Black Label Pro has seen its share of top names. Notable alumni include TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth, TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace, Mike ‘Riddick Moss’ Rallis, Moose, Mustafa Ali, and self-professed Indy God Matt Cardona. The company’s most recent event, Crowning Glory, saw many of these top names with Dhesi and Grace emerging victorious in their respective matches.
Seeing a wrestling company close shop is never fun and hopefully this hiatus proves to only be a temporary setback for those working at Black Label Pro. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest from the world of independent pro wrestling.
WWE has one of the largest and most diverse rosters in all of professional wrestling with talent coming from all kinds of backgrounds and walks of life. Recently, a lot has been said about the representation (or lack thereof) of black male Superstars at PLEs, which many fans have found lacking.
A black male wrestler has not won a singles match at a WWE PLE since Elimination Chamber 2023 where Bobby Lashley earned a DQ victory over Brock Lesnar. For the last time a black, male wrestler won via pinfall or submission, fans must go back to WWE SummerSlam 2022 where Lashley retained the U.S. Title against Austin Theory.
WWE has been made aware of the growing criticism regarding its handling of black, male Superstars, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reports.
One source within WWE is reported to have said “Well that’s obviously something that will be addressed now.” This weekend’s Bad Blood event will be WWE’s third consecutive PLE to feature no black, male Superstars.
This response from WWE comes after Swerve Strickland, AEW’s first black World Champion, had choice words for his former employer. Responding to a report that claimed WWE believes Strickland’s newly-signed AEW contract is above the market value, Swerve told The Breakfast Club “They only complain when a Black person gets paid.”
The topic of race and WWE’s handling of black wrestlers has been a topic of discussion for years. The important thing is that all talent of all backgrounds are treated with respect and given a fair opportunity to succeed in wrestling’s largest and most recognized promotion.
In recent years, WWE has embraced hosting Premium Live Events outside of North America with shows in England, Scotland, Wales, and Germany proving to be huge successes. Fans in Europe are excited to see the next stage of the promotion’s expansion, which is just getting started according to World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER.
The Austrian powerhouse has done well at WWE’s overseas events, as he boasts victories over Sheamus, Randy Orton, and Matt Riddle in Europe. Speaking to Metro, the 2024 King of the Ring teased much more to come for WWE outside North America.
“We’re just getting started. The whole European expansion, it’s not the last of it we’ve seen… I’m excited and I’m happy that I was able to position myself as one of the front runners of representing the company.”
Where Next?
WWE reportedly has plans to host a Premium Live Event in Italy in 2025, and Cody Rhodes teased an event coming to Belgium at an August 2024 live event in Brussels. The American Nightmare has also thrown his weight behind the UK hosting a future WrestleMania, an idea John Cena spoke of at Money in the Bank 2023 in London, England.
Multiple Superstars have also spoken about a WWE PLE coming to Ireland; a natural follow-up to already hosting shows in Scotland, Wales, and England. Last month, Lyra Valkyria put forward Dublin’s 3 Arena as a venue when speaking to Video Game Chronicle. Fellow Irish Superstar JD McDonagh told Irish Wrestling and Entertainment that “Any chance I get, I bring up” hosting a PLE in his home country.
NXT Europe
While WWE could soon be hosting more PLEs in Europe, plans for NXT Europe remain stagnant. The brand was announced in 2022 and coincided with the closing of NXT UK with the vast majority of names associated with the brand being released. In the two years since NXT Europe was launched, however, developments on the brand have been slow, and plans for the program were delayed indefinitely in July 2023.
Events in Ireland, Italy, Belgium, and beyond seem more likely under WWE’s new administration than ever before in the company’s history. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest from WWE and its expansion into Europe and even further.
In a matter of hours,WWE NXT will launch on The CW with an exciting show from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, where Trick Williams seeks to become a two-time NXT Champion. Speaking this week on the Insight podcast, Williams gave his high estimation for what the gold brand’s new era will look like.
“We are about to bring the best two-hour show to CW. I mean, I put our show against anybody’s. NXT is on fire right now, and shout out to Shawn Michaels. We just clicking on all cylinders and we’re ready to put on the show.”
All eyes will be on Williams tonight as he looks to end the 82-day reign of Ethan Page, who won the gold in controversial fashion at Heatwave in July. Page’s debut in May saw the ‘All Ego’ talent attack Williams and the pair have been at odds ever since.
“He stole the title, he conned his way into WWE. He conned his way into the title picture. He conned the title of me. He ain’t gonna con his way into CW, enough is enough.”
WWE NXT On The CW
Williams Vs. Page, as officiated by CM Punk, will be just one highlight of tonight’s launch of WWE NXT on The CW. The show will also see NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez take on Giulia. Wes Lee and TNA’s Zachary Wentz will collide in a Street Fight while Miz TV will feature Oba Femi and Tony D’Angelo.
Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on WWE NXT’s premiere on The CW, including breaking news and live results.
In 2024, A.J. Befumo and his son Eric have taken TikTok by storm with their series of videos demonstrating their love for all things Costco. After appearing for AEW at the All Out 2024 pay-per-view alongside RJ City and Renee Paquette, the father-son duo will be returning to AEW and will be doing much more than talking.
On social media, Befumo shared that the pair have signed a contract with AEW which will see A.J. compete in one match for Tony Khan’s promotion.
“I am wrestling one more match and it will be for AEW, All Elite Wrestling. We don’t know exactly where, we don’t know exactly who my opponent’s gonna be, but I am wrestling for one match at All Elite Wrestling. The contract is signed.”
A.J wrestled professionally for years as ‘The American Powerhouse’ Eric Justice, and named his son after his wrestling persona. He retired from the ring in 2005 and until his TikTok popularity exploded, had been working full-time as a regional manager for a nationwide mortgage-lending company.
The Costco Guys
A.J. Befumo and his 11-year-old son, Eric, aka Big Justice, have become viral sensations in 2024 with their TikTok food reviews of products from Costco. In recent months, the pair has garnered over 1.3 million followers on TikTok, and the videos have tens of millions of views.
Celebrities and wrestling have gone together for decades and now both AEW and the Costco Guys will be able to introduce their respective fanbases to the other side. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest from AEW and its place in the world of wrestling.
Pete Rose, a legend of baseball who also made appearances for WWE, has died at the age of 83. Stephanie Wheatley, a spokesperson for Clark County in Nevada, confirmed on behalf of the medical examiner that Rose died Monday, September 30. Rose had appeared at an autograph show over the weekend in Nashville alongside other celebrity athletes, including fellow WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.
Known as ‘Charlie Hustle’ of the Cincinnati Reds, Rose was arguably the most exciting player of the 1960s and 70s, and remains MLB’s all-time leader in hits with 4,256. The following decade, Rose managed the Reds and in 1989, was accused of betting on games while he played for and managed the team. After years of denying accusations, Rose admitted in 2004 that he made wagers on the team, and his permanent ban from the Hall of Fame remains a topic of debate to this day.
Pete Rose In WWE
Rose debuted in WWE at WrestleMania 14 where he mocked the hometown team of Boston, earning himself a chokeslam from Kane shortly after. The pair would run into another again at WrestleManias 15 and 16 with the Big Red Machine always getting the better of Rose.
For his work with WWE, Rose was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004 on the eve of WrestleMania 20, the first celebrity inductee. It was fitting that Kane inducted the original Big Red Machine, and fortunately for Rose, the pair did not come to blows. On Twitter, WWE shared a statement on Rose’s passing.
WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer Pete Rose has passed away.
On the August 5, episode of Raw, Bronson Reed vowed to make a name for himself and did just that by attacking Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, flattening him with six Tsunamis. After close to two months away, Rollins is back on WWE TV and is hungry for revenge on this year’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner.
In the main event of the September 30, edition of WWE Raw, Reed faced Braun Strowman in the ‘Last Monster Standing’ match, which as the name suggests, was a collision of two titans of the red brand. After the ring exploded under the weight of a superplex between the two, Reed tried to get back to his feet, only to earn a stomp by the returning Rollins onto the steel steps.
Rollins’ war with Reed is far from over, judging by the finale of this week’s Monday Night Raw. The former Universal Champion has been appearing at NFL games during his time away and went viral after being ejected from the field during a Bears Vs. Colts game. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins now that the Visionary is back on WWE programming.
On February 1, WWE will host its Royal Rumble PLE from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, officially kicking off the road to WrestleMania 41. The Royal Rumble is always one of the most exciting nights on WWE’s calendar and next year’s show could see involvement from the NBA’s Tyrese Haliburton.
On Twitter, the Indiana Pacers star shared that tickets for the 2025 Royal Rumble will go on sale on Friday, November 15, with a presale beginning two days earlier. Haliburton pointed out that the Rumble is “always full of surprises” and his watching eyes emoji led some to believe that Haliburton could be planning on entering the 30-Man match.
INDY, it’s almost time! Royal Rumble tickets will be available Friday November 15th with presale beginning Wednesday November 13th. The Rumble is always full of surprises? @WWEpic.twitter.com/qsAakzsUwn
Haliburton is no stranger to WWE, having appeared on SmackDown earlier this year and came to the aid of Logan Paul in a Money in the Bank qualifying match. Unfortunately for the duo, Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks prevented Haliburton from passing the brass knuckles to Paul and the match was won by LA Knight.
More recently, Haliburton, decked in the shirt of NXT head Shawn Michaels, appeared on the September 17, 2024, edition of WWE NXT. The basketball star was seen meeting with Ava and was later part of the contract signing between NXT Champion Ethan Page and Trick Williams.

Indiana will host the 2025 Royal Rumble but major WWE events will become a regular thing for Circle City. A massive deal between the two sides will see next year’s Royal Rumble take place in Lucas Oli Stadium, as well as a future two-night SummerSlam and two-night WrestleMania. WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque has called this a “groundbreaking, first-of-its-kind partnership” between the two sides and promised “countless unforgettable moments.”
Outside of the world of wrestling, John Cena has made a name for himself in Hollywood with his various movie projects taking the WWE icon around the world. This week, Cena, or rather an animated version of him, landed in Good Ol’ Springfield, USA, as part of the Season 36 premiere of The Simpsons.
The episode in question ‘Bart’s Birthday‘ tells a meta-story of The Simpsons writers using ChatGPT to craft the perfect series finale for the show. This leads to multiple characters receiving grand send-offs including Comic Book Guy and his wife Kumiko saying goodbye to the comic store after welcoming their child into the world.
As Kumiko goes into labor inside the store, Cena, who notes that he is “the only licensed midwife to win 16 WWE Championships” is on hand to help the couple welcome their baby into the world. When asked what he’s doing in Springfield, John shares that he’s around for the launch party of Otto’s new brand of energy drinks, an off-screen send-off to the school bus driver.
John Cena aparece en Los Simpsons!
Y no solo eso, sino que en el episodio, Cena atiende una emergencia y ayuda a traer a un bebé al mundo solo para decirle "You Can't See Me" pic.twitter.com/CMZq1DtR2Z
Cena is the second WWE Superstar to appear on the iconic animated show and follows in the footsteps of Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart who was in season eight’s The Old Man and the Lisa. The Hitman buys the mansion of Mr. Burns in the episode, after the crotchety billionaire falls on hard times and borrowing a line from Freddy Blassie, refers to Burns as a “pitiful, pencil neck geek.”
John Cena’s time in Springfield comes ahead of his WWE retirement tour which will kick-off next January when WWE Raw moves to Netflix. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on the WWE icon and his work in and out of the ring.
Since signing with WWE in December 2020, Lash Legend has been cooking up problems for the other women in NXT as part of Noam Dar’s Meta-Four. Now, Legend will be cooking in the kitchen as part of a brand-new show that’ll see plenty of NXT involvement.
A Dash of Lash will premiere on October 17, and will see new episodes drop every Thursday. As the trailer for the new show demonstrates, Lash will be joined by several NXT names including NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez, NXT GM Ava, Tony D’Angelo and his family, and Legend’s real-life partner Trick Williams.
Dash of Lash???? premiering 10/17 ?
Episodes dropping every week. (On Thursdays @6:00pm) So get your notes ready and let’s get to cooking.
Lash Legend is hardly the first WWE Superstar to show her skills in the kitchen. In 2021, The Miz, Maryse, Drew McIntyre, and Naomi took over Top Chef: Family Style. The four not only motivated their respective teams, but added their exquisite palates to the judging table alongside head judge Marcus Samuelsson.
Baron Corbin is also quite the chef and has dreams in the kitchen for after his in-ring career is over. In July 2022, the former NXT Tag Team Champion shared his desire to work on the Food Network once he retires from competition within five to ten years. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest from Lash Legend and her work in the ring and in the kitchen.
