Ronda Rousey Takes Aim at Vince McMahon, Love Triple H & Stephanie

Former WWE Superstar Ronda Rousey recently sat down with Chris Van Vliet of the Insight podcast to discuss her career in wrestling. Rousey captured the WWE RAW & SmackDown Women’s Championships during her run, as well as the WWE Women’s Tag Titles. She won the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match as well and headlined WrestleMania in 2019.

On Working With Vince McMahon

Since exiting WWE in 2023, Rousey has spoken openly about her issues with Vince McMahon. On the podcast, Rousey said that she never had anxiety about what the former WWE Chairman had to say about her matches.

“I just wanted to have a great match. Sometimes I felt like instead of like enabling us to have a great match, we were fighting against him in order to have a great match.”

When asked if there was any love lost between the two, Rousey made herself clear.

“No, Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, Bruce Prichard they can all suck a d**k.”

Rousey also said it was McMahon being an “a**hole” that resulted in a singles match with Becky Lynch at WrestleMania not happening. Despite this, Lynch has a much more positive take on McMahon’s daughter Stephanie and Triple H.

“They are fantastic, love them.”

On If She’s Done With Wrestling

After leaving WWE, Rousey has gone on to compete a handful of times but has yet to step in the ring in 2024. When asked, Rousey said she was done wrestling full-time.

“I might come back and have some fun here and there. But I can’t be leaving home and being on the road like that.”

On Calling Wrestling Fake

In 2019, on the road to WrestleMania 35, Rousey shared a scathing video online in which she called wrestling fake. The video in question raised questions with fans as to whether WWE should be working with Rousey (the RAW Women’s Champion at the time) given her apparent disrespect for the business.

Rousey and her crew busted out laughing as soon as the video stopped recording, and loved blurring the lines of real and kayfabe. On the show, Rousey explained why she said what she said as it went beyond being like any other heel in WWE at the time.

“So many people are trying to be the cool guy heel. They’re like I want to be the heel, but I want everyone to actually like me for it. I’m like, No, man. I want people to feel like I am an existential threat to what they love.”

On The WrestleMania 35 Finish

As the controversy around her comment raged, Rousey headlined WrestleMania 35 against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in the first women’s main event of the Supershow. The match is unfortunately remembered for a botched finish that saw Lynch pin Rousey despite the latter’s shoulders being up.

“I didn’t think my shoulders were flat on the ground, so I was trying to scoot to get my shoulders flat because it’s so f*cking loud I can’t hear anything.”

Rousey added that this controversial finish was not planned, but hoped at the time that the mistake could be worked into an angle and a long-awaited singles match with Lynch. That never took place and with Lynch no longer a part of WWE, a rematch on a grand stage seems less likely than ever before.

John Cena Explains His ‘Random’ Social Media Following Strategy

John Cena’s seemingly random social media follows comes from an aim to get views from all sides, the former WWE World Champion has revealed. Sitting down with WIRED to promote his new movie Jackpot, Cena shared the method behind his madness.

“I follow everyone I can, I’m following over 800,000 people at the moment, I will j ust continue to follow a thousand people a day — I follow people from everywhere, I don’t care, no one is off limits, your affiliations, your beliefs, I don’t care because I want to hear all the voices.”

Cena currently follows over 850,000 people on X, with his list of follows ranging from political powerhouses to loyal fans. From Hollywood A-Listers to the quaint Lancashire Cricket Club of the UK, Cena is interested in hearing from all corners of the globe.

John Cena on Social Media

While the WWE icon is closing in on following a million people on X, Cena follows 0 people on Instagram but has amassed 21 million followers on the platform. On Instagram, Cena shares images without any caption of context, leaving fans to speculate on what he means. These images often relate to his projects both in and out of WWE and amass thousands of comments as his followers debate what they mean.

What’s to Come?

Fans can expect to see plenty of Cena in the coming months as the WWE icon will soon embark on his retirement tour. 2025 will mark the end of John Cena’s in-ring career, as the legend shared at WWE Money in the Bank 2024 in Toronto, Canada.

As one of the biggest names in wrestling history, it’s hardly a surprise that several wrestlers have put themselves forward for Cena’s farewell tour. CM Punk hopes to team with John before the latter calls it a career while The Miz is hoping to get one last match with Cena after previously headlining WrestleMania 27 in 2011. Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker is ready to defend his title against Cena next year. The title in question is one of the few accolades John has not obtained in WWE and the only title Cena needs to complete the Grand Slam.

Bret Hart Doesn’t Regret Punching Vince McMahon – “He Can Rot in Hell”

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart has no regrets over punching Vince McMahon following Survivor Series 1997 and the Montreal Screwjob. Speaking with the Attitude Era podcast, the Hitman made his views on McMahon abundantly clear.

“I knocked him [McMahon] out with one punch and it was the greatest punch I ever threw. [It was an] absolutely beautiful uppercut. I lifted him about a foot off the ground, [and] broke my hand. It was the sweetest punch I ever threw. I wouldn’t change anything about it. Vince McMahon can rot in hell.”

After being ‘screwed’ by McMahon in his native Canada, an infuriated Hart made his way to the back. It has been reported for years that McMahon hid in his office after the match, and only emerged after The Undertaker made him appear and apologize. Bret and McMahon reportedly discussed what had happened and Bret warned McMahon to leave immediately or risk being punched.

McMahon allegedly told Bret “I’m gonna give you one” and Hart clocked the billionaire. McMahon was floored by the punch and was later seen with a black eye and a sprained ankle, the latter being cause by his fall to the floor, Hart has claimed.

What Came Next?

Bret would make a one-night return to WWE in 2006 for the Hall of Fame ceremony before returning in January 2010 to WWE programming. In 2019, Hart was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for a second time for his role in the Hart Foundation.

Vince McMahon may not be in Hell as Hart wants, but he’s certainly not in the wrestling industry anymore. The former WWE Chairman stepped away from the promotion for the second time in 2024 due to Janel Grant’s lawsuit against him, John Laurinaitis, and WWE. McMahon is also dealing with a federal investigation into him from the Dept. of Justice. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest on McMahon and the billionaire’s fall from the wrestling mountaintop.

AEW’s Anthony Ogogo And Wife Expecting Their First Child

Anthony Ogogo and his wife Casey are celebrating as the couple have shared that they are awaiting the birth of their first child. Ogogo said that parenthood will be the next round in his life and questioned if his child will grow up to be a boxer or a wrestler.

Ogogo signed with AEW in 2019 and made his on-screen TV debut in 2021. That same year, the Olympic bronze medalist feuded with Cody Rhodes, culminating in a match at Double or Nothing 2021 that Rhodes won. In April of this year, Ogogo aligned with Shane Taylor Promotions by joining them in a beatdown on Chris Jericho and HOOK.

Pro Wrestling’s Baby Fever

Anthony Ogogo isn’t the only wrestler who’ll be changing diapers and warming up bottles soon enough. During an April edition of AEW Rampage, Ruby Soho revealed that she is pregnant and celebrated in the ring with her now-husband Angelo Parker. Days later, fellow Riott Squad alum Valhalla shared that she and Viking Raider Erik are also expecting their second child.

At San Diego Comic-Con last month, former WWE RAW & SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey shared that she is expecting her second child and revealed her baby bump at the convention. Rousey and her husband Travis Browne welcomed their daughter La’akea into the world in September 2021. She is also a stepmom to two of Browne’s sons from a previous marriage.

We here at SE Scoops would like to send our congratulations to Ogogo and his wife on their joyous news!

Update On Saraya’s AEW Contract Ahead of All In: London 2024

More has come to light about Saraya’s current status with AEW as the former Women’s World Champion seeks a role at All In: London. Saraya’s deal with AEW extends until at least September, Fightful Select reports, and the two sides have “at least been in talks” about extending her current deal for a year.

Saraya joined AEW in 2022 after a unique exit from WWE which saw the promotion reportedly try and re-sign her after Triple H took over. Saraya’s time in AEW saw her return to the ring after a nearly five-year retirement. Saraya has since feuded with top talent including Britt Baker and Toni Storm and is currently aligned with Harley Cameron.

Saraya’s Journey to AEW All In: London 2024

At AEW All In: London 2023, Saraya captured the AEW Women’s World Championship, her first title victory in close to a decade. Her reign would come to an end mere weeks later when she lost the gold to Hikaru Shida.

Saraya isn’t booked for AEW All In: London 2024, a matter that the British wrestler has taken issue with. On this week’s Dynamite in Cardiff, Wales, Saraya will challenge Women’s World Champion ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm. A victory would ensure Saraya a place in Wembley Stadium as Mariah May will challenge for the gold this weekend. Fightful adds that Saraya does not officially have a match for All In: London at this time, but is “planned for the show.”

Uncle Howdy To Make In-Ring Debut On 8/26 WWE RAW

Uncle Howdy, the macabre side of Bo Dallas, will make his in-ring debut during next week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW. Howdy will face American Made’s Chad Gable on the show in what’ll be the latest chapter of their feud. Gable was attacked by the Wyatt Sicks upon the faction’s debut in June with some fans claiming the Olympian had been ‘killed’ due to the bloody wound on his head.

This will mark the first WWE match for Howdy, and Bo Dallas’ first WWE match since a WWE live event in November 2019. In the faction’s in-ring debut, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, and Erick Rowan, defeated Gable and the Creed Brothers earlier this month.,

Next Week’s WWE RAW

The in-ring debut of Uncle Howdy will be just one highlight of the go home edition of WWE RAW before Bash in Berlin on August 31. On the show, Bronson Reed’s path of destruction will see him collide with Braun Strowman. A tournament to decide the next challenger for Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker will also get underway. Breakker won the gold from Sami Zayn at WWE SummerSlam, marking his first title on the main roster.

After months of cryptic messages, fans are eager to see how Uncle Howdy fares in the ring Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest in the build towards next week’s crucial match.

Pat McAfee Stepping Away From WWE RAW For ESPN College GameDay

Pat McAfee will be stepping away from the WWE RAW commentary table after tonight to rejoin the ESPN College GameDay for the upcoming season that’ll start this week. McAfee shared on social media that the August 19, RAW will be his last “for a bit.”

Tonight will be my last trip to that wonderful WWE family for a while, I’m bummed out. Football season is starting which is awesome but the WWE family is where I’m supposed to be, I know that and I hope they do too.”

McAfee’s departure will come as a blow to his fans as his enthusiasm at WWE events has proven to be infectious. With that said, McAfee did drum up controversy with comments about WWE NXT after Pat and his show’s co-hosts were DLC in WWE 2K24.

WWE Monday Night RAW – August 19

While this will be Pat’s final episode of WWE RAW for some time, he will be getting an epic show to say goodbye on. CM Punk has vowed to deliver a message to Drew McIntyre in what’ll be the latest chapter in their deeply personal rivalry. SmackDown’s Randy Orton will be a part of tonight’s show ahead of WWE Bash in Berlin showdown with World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER.

Cody Rhodes Tops Fanatics Fest NYC Merch Sellers Despite Schedule Issues

Cody Rhodes continues to prove to be undeniable as the merchandise figures from the recent Fanatics Fest NYC event have shown. Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin congratulated Cody Rhodes on being WWE’s top merchandise seller over the weekend. In a video, Rubin said that Rhodes was “without question” driving merchandise for WWE.

This accolade is just the latest sign of success for the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion. Rhodes has consistently been among WWE’s top merchandise sellers since his return to the promotion in April 2022. In May of this year, Rhodes was the only wrestler to appear on Fanatics’ top ten list of overall sellers. This is no small feat for Rhodes as Fanatics carries NBA and NFL products amongst its catalog as well as WWE.

Issues At Fanatics Fest NYC

While Rhodes triumphed in terms of merchandise, his appearance at the third day of the convention did not go smoothly. PW Insider reports that some fans received refunds due to some Superstar signing sessions being oversold. As a result, talent, including Rhodes, were pulled from those to then make other planned appearances at the event.

Due to his busy schedule, Rhodes reportedly missed a scheduled appearance at the press conference for the November fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson on Netflix. The streaming giant will become the host of Monday Night RAW starting in January 2025. Rubin reportedly personally asked for Rhodes to appear for the segment but that didn’t happen.

Because of a WWE live event later in the day, Rhodes had to leave Fanatics Fest NYC to make it to the show in Fort Myers, FL. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reports that Cody had a strict departure time and that fans who didn’t get a photo with him can get refunds, and that it was reiterated that this was not Rhodes’ fault.

‘Joe Hendry Day’ Honors TNA Wrestling Star In Redwood Falls

The people of Redwood Falls, Minnesota proved they believe in Joe Hendry by celebrating an official day dedicated to the viral TNA Wrestling star. Hendry took to Twitter to announce that the Mayor of Redwood Falls has officially declared August 17th as “Joe Hendry Day.” Initially, Hendry thought it might have been a joke, but it has been officially approved by both the Mayor and the city council.

Joe Hendry’s Whirlwind Momentum

This accolade is just the latest headling-generating success for Hendry, who is proving to be a hit both in and outside of TNA Wrestling. Hendry has been a crucial part in the crossover between NXT and TNA. On the July 30, Great American Bash episode of NXT, Hendry performed a live concert, and the following week, he secured a victory against Joe Coffey. Hendry has also competed in a battle royal for the gold brand, and more recently, has shared his intentions to become WWE NXT Champion.

What’s Next?

Hendry will be a part of a triple threat match on this week’s episode of WWE NXT and will face Pete Dunne and Wes Lee. The winner will earn a shot at WWE NXT Champion Ethan Page at NXT No Mercy. That show will take place on September 1 from the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. Given the momentum Hendry has been on in WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling, many fans consider him the favorite in this match. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest from WWE NXT and Joe Hendry’s championship pursuit.

Wayne & Wyatt Rhodes Make AEW Debut In 8/17 Collision Dark Match

The legacy of the Rhodes family has taken another huge step this week with the AEW in-ring debuts of Wayne and Wyatt Rhodes. The brothers made their debut in a dark match during Saturday’s AEW Collision tapings, taking on Aaron Solo and Jon Cruz. Wayne & Wyatt are the nephews of Dustin and Cody Rhodes and used the tag-team name The New Texas Outlaws for their match. The moniker is an homage to the tag team consisting of their grandfather Dusty Rhodes and Dick Murdoch.

The AEW debuts of Wayne and Wyatt come shortly after Cody Rhodes gave his high opinion of the pair. Earlier this month, the Undisputed WWE Champion said he would not be the end of his family in wrestling, and spoke highly of his nephews.

The taping was an extra special night for the Rhodes family, as in addition to Wayne and Wyatt’s debut, their uncle Dustin became a champion. Rhodes became a double champion in Ring of Honor, winning the ROH Tag Team titles with Sammy Guevara by defeating Matt Taven and Mike Bennett. Dustin also holds the ROH Six-Man Tag Team titles with Marshall and Ross Von Erich.

As for Cody, the Undisputed WWE Champion, he will defend his gold against Kevin Owens at the WWE Bash In Berlin later this month. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest on the Rhodes family and their ongoing development in wrestling.

Zack Sabre Jr. Wins 2024 G1 Climax, Makes Early Challenge For IWGP Title

Zack Sabre Jr. has continued to etch his name in the history books by winning the 2024 G1 Climax. Sabre Jr. defeated Yota Tsuji in a thrilling finale which saw Sabre get the submission victory after countering Tsuji’s attempted Gene Blaster.

With this victory, Zack Sabre Jr. has earned the right to challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, currently held by Tetsuya Naito. Traditionally, the G1 Climax winner challenges the champion at Wrestle Kingdom in January, but the British wrestler doesn’t plan on waiting that long. Speaking after his win, Sabre said he plans on challenging for the gold at King of Pro Wrestling on October 14 in Ryogoku Sumo Hall.

Sabre also mentioned his love for Ryogoku Sumo Hall as a reason for wanting his title match earlier than planned. Sabre also intends to defend the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Royal Quest 4 on October 20 in his native England.

Sabre is one of two non-Japanese wrestlers to win the G1 Climax, the other being Kenny Omega who won the tournament in 2016. Despite his success in Japan, Sabre is yet to capture the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Naito is in his record-tying second reign after regaining the title at AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door.

Sabre’s victory in the tournament was hard-fought, but now the British wrestler has another huge match ahead of him. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for the latest on Zack Sabre Jr. and his pursuit of the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

WWE Outperforms All Other Sports At Fanatics Fest NYC Convention

WWE has been a force to be reckoned with at the ongoing Fanatics Fest NYC event, with the promotion outselling other sports at the convention. Out of all the various sports stars in the Big Apple, the only group that has sold out of photograph and autograph opportunities are the Superstars of WWE, Fox News reports.

WWE outperforming everyone else is no mean feat, especially with legendary athletes including Barry Sanders, Cal Ripken Jr., Adrian Peterson, and Jerry Rice in attendance. Speaking with Fox, WWE host Peter Rosenberg was understandably pleased by the reception and WWE’s ongoing popularity.

“The company growth has been insane. It’s been one of the great times in the history of the company… seeing where it’s gone from when I first got in the door to where we are now, it’s been an amazing time.”

WWE At Fanatics Fest NYC

Day one of the three-day event saw several celebrities show off their WWE love, including Rob Gronkowski, who was presented with a WWE Legacy Championship by CM Punk. Derek Jeter was also presented with a championship while NFL legend Tom Brady made a Hulk Hogan-inspired entrance at the WWE zone of the Javits Center.

Day Two of the convention continued to demonstrate the undeniable momentum of WWE with legends including Rey Mysterio and Triple H making appearances. CM Punk also addressed being labeled a ‘cancer’ by some in the wrestling industry and shared why people may have an issue with him.

There’s plenty to excite wrestling fans at Fanatics Fest NYC with appearances, panels, and much more announced. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for the latest from the convention.

AAA TripleMania XXXII – Nemeth/ JBL, Riddle Wins Gold, WWE Alum Return

Plenty went down at AAA TripleMania XXXII: Mexico City, including surprising debuts, returns, and plenty of title changes. The show was the third TripleMania event of this year and followed on from the Monterrey show in April and the Tijuana event in June.

Nic Nemeth Finds Ally, Loses Title

The show saw AAA Mega Champion Nic Nemeth in action as the ‘Wanted Man’ continues to be a highlight in various promotions. Ahead of his championship match with Nic Nemeth, it was revealed that WWE Hall of Famer John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield had aligned with Nic.

Despite this newfound ally, the show did not go as Nemeth had hoped. In a rematch of the bout that saw Nemeth win the gold, Alberto El Patron captured the title from his former WWE rival.

Matt Riddle Wins Gold

Matt Riddle was also a part of AAA TripleMania XXXII: Mexico City and left the city with some new hardware. The Original Bro captured the AAA Cruiserweight Championship from Komander in a Trios match that included Laredo Kid.

Raj Dhesi & Satnam Singh Win Tag Titles

Since his release from WWE in September 2023, Raj Dhesi has been making an impact and captured the Black Label Pro title in July of this year. Now the former Jinder Mahal has more gold as he and Satnam Singh have won the AAA Tag Team Championships.

WWE Superstars Return

TripleMania XXXII: Mexico City also saw former CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Marco Corleone (previously known as Mark Jindrak in WWE) make his return to AAA. Corleone last appeared for AAA in 2010 and this year was part of the Copa Bardhal.

Corleone wasn’t the only former WWE name who competed in the match in which the winner earned a guaranteed title match. Former WWE Superstar Kenzo Suzuki was also part of the match. Kenzo’s wife Hiroko will make her return to wrestling after close to a decade later this year.

The match was won by Octagon Jr. who now has the opportunity of a lifetime. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest from the world of AAA.

CM Punk On Being Called A Cancer – ‘I Treat People How They Treat Me’

CM Punk has rejected the notion that he is a “cancer” to others but believes any negative he has shown simply reflects how he’s been treated. Speaking at Fanatics Fest NYC, Punk was asked about being labeled a cancer by some.

“That’s all bulls***… If you are a piece of s***, and you act that way to me, I will treat you that way. If you’re nice, you’re smiling, you wanna have a good time, let’s have a good time, I’m all hugs.”

Punk went even further, claiming that people who spread lies about him do so because they can’t control him and “absolutely hate that.” Punk ended by saying people should arrive at their own conclusions but recognize that what’s often been said is not the truth.

Is CM Punk A ‘Cancer?’

Chris Jericho reportedly called Punk a cancer following the AEW All Out 2022 controversy where Punk made a series of disparaging comments during the media scrum. That, along with a backstage fight would result in Punk, The Elite and others suspended from the promotion.

Amid Punk’s first suspension from AEW, Seth Rollins labeled the former AEW World Champion a cancer during a media appearance ahead of the 2023 Royal Rumble. Rollins later admitted that it pains him to speak negatively about Punk. The issues between the pair have played into Punk’s return to WWE and Rollins’ volatile reaction at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023.

While Punk was the center of controversy in AEW, his conduct since returning to WWE has received high marks backstage. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest on this alleged ‘cancer’ of professional wrestling.

Travis Scott Joins WWE Legends at Day Two of Fanatics Fest NYC

WWE At Fanatics Fest NYC: Day Two

WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque delighted fans with an appearance at day two of Fanatics Fest NYC. Though his career in the ring may be over, the Cerebral Assassin couldn’t help but perform his iconic entrance.

In the run-up to the day, WWE and Fanatics had promoted a special tag-team partner for WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio. That mystery partner was revealed to be none other than hip-hop star Travis Scott.

Scott’s song FE!N will serve as the official theme song of WWE WrestleMania 41 in April 2025. Triple H was able to catch up with Scott after his appearance.

Scott has previously appeared for WWE in segments with ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso. He was by no means the only celebrity engaged in WWE antics at Fanatics Fest NYC as several stars showed their WWE spirit during day one of the convention.

Bianca Belair was also at day two of Fanatics Fest NYC. On Twitter, the EST was grateful to her fans who made the trip to the Javits Center.

There’s plenty to excite wrestling fans at Fanatics Fest NYC with appearances, panels, and much more announced. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for the latest from the convention.

Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara Win ROH World Tag Team Titles On 8/17 Collision

The ROH World Tag Team Championships found new owners this week as Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara now hold the gold. The pair captured the title from The Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) during the latest episode of AEW Collision with Guevara delivering a Swanton Bomb on Bennett, allowing Rhodes to secure the pinfall.

The match saw plenty of action in and out of the ring. Roderick Strong, The Beast Mortos, Mark Briscoe, Kyle O’Reilly, Marshall Von Erich, Ross Von Erich, Tomohiro Ishii, Brian Cage, Bishop Kaun, and Toa Liona all ran in, sparking a brawl on the outside. Of this group, only Strong directly influenced the match by hitting Rhodes with a running kick.

This victory marks the first ROH Tag Team Championship reign for both Guevara and Rhodes and makes the latter a double champion. Rhodes is also currently one-third of the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions alongside The Von Erichs.

The Undisputed Kingdom’s reign as champions lasted 234 days and began at Dynamite: New Year’s Smash in December 2023. The pair won the titles as The Devil’s Masked Men and their identities were revealed at AEW Worlds End days later. As champions, Taven and Bennet had five successful title defenses. Their final successful defense came during the July 28 taping of ROH on Honor Club and saw them retain against Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean.

This is a huge win for Rhodes and Guevara, the latter of whom only recently returned following months of inaction. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest on the new ROH World Tag Team Champions.

Jack Perry Debuts New AEW TNT Title Design On 8/17 Episode of Collision

The AEW TNT Championship received a new look during the latest episode of AEW Collision, courtesy of reigning champion Jack Perry. The Scapegoat defeated Danny Orion in a non-title match during the show, spray-painted Orion’s face, and stuffed him inside a body bag after the match.

Perry then discarded his old TNT Championship belt into the bag and revealed a brand-new one. This redesign of the title has a worn, battle-hardened appearance, now featuring a darker shade and a spray-painted black finish with veiny leather detailing.

This is just the latest championship in AEW to receive a striking new look. Earlier this month, MJF changed the International Championship to introduce the American Championship. The new title oozes Americana with a red, white, and blue design and plates with the U.S of A prominently featured.

TNT Championship Designs

The AEW TNT Championship has undergone several design changes since its inception, with Cody Rhodes’ first design receiving criticism for not appearing finished. The completed version of the TNT Championship was unveiled in August 2020 under the reign of Brodie Lee. The title has also featured a white and green design held by the likes of Miro, and a purple and yellow design during the reign of Scorpio Sky.

What’s To Come?

Darby Allin is set to challenge Jack Perry for the TNT Championship in a coffin match at AEW All In 2024 in London, England. With intense animosity between these two rivals, fans can expect a brutally violent encounter in Wembley Stadium. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest on Jack Perry as we inch closer to All In: London 2024.

CM Punk Addresses Potential Steve Austin Dream Match At Fanatics Fest NYC

CM Punk is ready to throwdown with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, but believes it’ll be the Rattlesnake’s call as to if a match actually happens. Speaking on The Masked Man Show during Fanatics Fest NYC, Punk was asked about the long-speculated dream match with the WWE Hall of Famer.

“That would be up to Steve. It’s not up to me… It should’ve happened ten-plus years ago, but if he wants to go to sleep, he can call me.”

Punk didn’t stop there, adding that he thinks Austin had a “pretty good return” with his WrestleMania 38 main event victory over Kevin Owens. Punk went on to say that Austin may have buried his proverbial six-shooters in the Nevada desert, but if he wants to dig them up, Punk will be his “huckleberry.”

For years, it appeared that this dream match would be nothing but a dream given that Austin retired from in-ring competition in 2003. Just over a decade later, Punk would walk out of WWE, again dashing the hopes of fans eager to see the two lock horns. As history has taught us, never say never in wrestling, as this match now looks more likely than ever before.

Fanatics Fest NYC

CM Punk made his comments at day two of Fanatics Fest NYC; an ongoing convention for sports fans and collectors alike. WWE has already had a huge presence at the event, with several celebrities showing their WWE spirit at the Javits Center. Want to know what else is happening at Fanatics Fest NYC? Giulia Debuts New Look, Reveals Final Match Ahead of Reported WWE Move

Giulia will be staying with the Marigold Wrestling promotion for slightly longer than initially planned, the Japanese wrestling sensation has revealed. Speaking to the press, Giulia shared that she will compete in a gauntlet at Marigold’s event in Shin-Kiba on August 25.

Wrestlers will have 60 seconds to face Giulia in the ring, and the offer to face Giulia will be available to talent from in and out of Marigold. As seen in the video below, Giulia debuted a new look, one more subdued than the usual colorful visage fans have come to know her for.

https://twitter.com/PuroresuFlow/status/1824773368110817460

Giulia’s Future

Giulia had previously announced that her time competing in Japan would end on August 19, though this is clearly no longer the case. When Giulia does wrap up her time in Japan, many expect to see her in WWE shortly after. In April, it was reported that Giulia had signed with WWE and she appeared at NXT Stand & Deliver that same month.

Giulia’s name has been coming up more and more in WWE circles as of late, with NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez claiming to be the better wrestler. It has been reported that Giulia will start her WWE career in NXT where she is set to be pushed as the face of the gold brand’s women’s division. One source claimed that Giulia’s influence in NXT will rival that of Asuka, who held the NXT Women’s Championship for over 500 days before her move to the main roster. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for the latest on Giulia and her reported move to WWE.

Trademark Filing Hints At Post-WWE Plans For Bobby Lashley & MVP

Bobby Lashley & MVP could soon be reunited as The Hurt Syndicate, judging by a trademark filing made earlier this week. On August 16, Bobby Lashley and MVP were both moved to the alumni section of WWE’s official website, signaling their departure from the company.

Just two days earlier, on August 14, a trademark filing was made for the term The Hurt Syndicate for use in professional wrestling and entertainment services. The filing was submitted by a company named “Totally Harmless Concept, LLC.”

This isn’t the first time this company has been linked to MVP. In 2013, “Totally Harmless Concept, LLC” also filed to trademark “MVP” when the former United States Champion began his stint with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Additionally, the company filed to trademark “Ghetto Strong Style” in 2013, a song that MVP used as his entrance theme during his time in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

On social media, MVP didn’t directly address reports of The Hurt Syndicate but did share a gif of Lashley, suggesting that the two will be working again soon.

What’s to Come?

With MVP sharing that he won’t be going back to WWE at a Bloodsport event, anticipation continues to grow as to what he and Bobby Lashley have planned next. It’s been reported that Lashley and MVP are hoping to reunite in AEW in a move that could possibly see Shelton Benjamin brought into the All-Elite promotion.

WWE Hall of Famer Afa Anoa’i of the Wild Samoans Dead Aged 81

The wrestling world is in mourning following the passing of Afa Anoa’i Sr., who has died at the age of 81. On social media, Afa’s son Samu Anoa’i confirmed the sad news.

“It is with deepest regret that we announce the passing of my father Afa Anoai Sr. It was a peaceful transition and he was surrounded by loved ones. Please respect our privacy as we morn our father.”

Afa’s passing comes after it was falsely reported that he had died earlier this week. It was later clarified by his family that he was still “fighting” but has now passed. Afa’s passing comes two months after his brother and tag team partner Sika died at the age of 79.

The Wild Samoans

Together, Afa and Sika became one of the most legendary tag teams in all of professional wrestling with 21 recognized tag team championship reigns to their name. The Wild Samoans began competing together in Stu Hart’s Stampede Wrestling in 1973 and would join the World Wrestling Federation in 1979.

This first stint in the WWF saw the pair capture the World Tag Team Titles in April 1980, winning the gold from Tito Santana and Ivan Putski and later in September by defeating Tony Garea and Rene Goulet. After a year-long stint in the WWF, the Wild Samoans took their skills to Mid-South Wrestling and Georgia, but returned to the WWF in 1982.

The pair’s third reign in the WWF saw them defeat Chief Jay & Jules Strongbow in March 1983, and they would hold the gold for much of the year. Their reign would eventually end at the hands of Rocky Johnson & Tony Atlas in November, who’d become the first African-American World Tag Team Champions. The pair remained with the WWF until 1985 and would compete outside the promotion for years afterward.

For their efforts, the Wild Samoans were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007 by Samu and Matt ‘Rosey’ Anoa’i. The tag team were inducted into the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2012, again in recognition for their in-ring careers and work training future stars of the ring.

We at SE Scoops would like to share our deepest condolences to Afa’s family at this sad time.

Fanatics Fest NYC: Watch CM Punk & Gronk Kick Off Inaugural Day

Fanatics Fest NYC kicked off Friday from the Javitz Center and brings together some of the biggest names from the world’s top sports leagues. Several WWE Superstars are planned to make appearances which you can learn about with our handy Guide to WWE at Fanatics Fest NYC.

WWE Celebrities At Fanatics Fest NYC

WWE’s resident own Best in the World CM Punk was at today’s event, but he wasn’t alone. The former WWE & AEW World Champion presented Rob Gronkowski with a New England Patriots WWE Legacy Championship Title. Gronkowski thanked WWE for the gift and referenced his time with the company.

Gronkowski wasn’t the only notable name to receive a WWE Legacy Championship. New York Yankees’ own Derek Jeter also received a belt.

NFL legend Tom Bready was also feeling the WWE spirit at Fanatics Fest NYC as he made a Hulk Hogan-inspired entrance at the venue.

IShowSpeed may have had a painful run-in with Randy Orton earlier this year at WrestleMania, but that didn’t stop the streamer from making an entrance that would make the Viper proud.

There’s plenty to excite wrestling fans at Fanatics Fest NYC with appearances, panels, and much more announced. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for the latest from the convention.

GUNTHER: ‘Randy Orton Is Great, Despite Wasting A Lot of Potential’

WWE World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER has delivered some choice words for Randy Orton ahead of their collision in Berlin, Germany. Speaking to Jim Varsalone, GUNTHER spoke about the 14-time WWE World Champion and his wasted potential.

“Randy’s career is undeniable. But on the other hand, we’ve got to be honest here, he was destined to be the greatest of all time, and with all the bad decisions he made in his career and all the issues he had he still is one of the greatest. But he wasted a lot of potential and I’m not in the business of wasting potential.”

GUNTHER didn’t stop there, adding that he has exceeded expectations, while he believes the opposite is true of WWE’s Apex Predator. The two will collide at WWE Bash in Berlin on August 31. The match will be GUNTHER’s first PLE title defense as World Heavyweight Champion while Orton hopes to break an unfortunate 40-month streak at PLEs.

Randy Orton’s Bad Decisions

While he has mellowed out considerably in recent years, Orton did make plenty of bad decisions early into his wrestling career. Orton reportedly pushed Amy Weber over during a flight, after she took some ibuprofen from the men’s locker-room when dealing with an injury. This incident, among others, would result in Weber leaving WWE in 2005.

Weber is not the only woman to have spoken up about Orton’s conduct. Maria Kanellis-Bennett claimed during her shoot interview with Kayfabe Commentaries that Orton shot fireworks from his car at the vehicle containing Maria and others. It has been claimed online for years that Orton defecated in the bag of former WWE Diva Rochelle Loewen, though she has since clarified that he defaced her bag with tanning lotion and baby oil, seemingly payback for Loewen not knowing who he was when she joined WWE.

The Viper’s off-screen outbursts would result in him being sent to an anger management course in Atlanta in 2006. Despite the four-week course, Orton was sent home from a European tour a year later after causing $50,000 worth of damage to a hotel room.

Orton has faced multiple Wellness Policy suspensions, though was brought back early from a suspension in 2006 so he could feud with Kurt Angle. In August 2007, Orton was named among eleven Superstars caught up in the Signature Pharmacy scandal who had purchased performance-enhancing drugs. The Legend Killer was not suspended and would capture the WWE Championship on two occasions mere months later.

On a December 2023 edition of the ImPaulsive podcast, Orton said he was an “a**hole” during the formative years of his career, saying that his poor behavior was “armor” as he wanted others to respect him. Orton added on the podcast that he was given second, third, and fourth chances by Vince McMahon.

Tony Khan: ‘AEW Will Return to The UK For All In: London 2026’

AEW will return to London, England for its All In 2026 pay-per-view, after next year’s event will take place in Arlington, Texas. Speaking to the media at the AEW All In: Texas 2025 launch event, AEW President Tony Khan confirmed that the show would return to the UK in two years.

“We will be going back just ten days from now to Wembley Stadium, and celebrating All In ’24. We can’t wait to bring All In ’25 here (to Arlington). It’s going to be very special. We’re going to London next week, then coming to Texas, we’ll be going back to London in 2026.”

AEW’s first UK-based event, All In 2023, took place in August of last year and saw over 75,000 fans fill London’s Wembley Stadium. All In: London 2024 will also take place at Wembley Stadium on August 25. At this time, nine matches have been confirmed for the evening. AEW will also host a taping of Dynamite in Cardiff, Wales, marking the first AEW TV taping to take place outside North America.

Between trips to the UK, AEW will host its All In 2025 event in Arlington, Texas, marking the promotion’s first stadium event in North America. The show is just the latest in a lucrative partnership between AEW and the city which has hosted back-to-back episodes of Collision as well as the recent ROH Death Before Dishonor event.

Another Stadium Event?

The Sporting News reported earlier this week that AEW is planning on hosting a stadium event in Australia in 2025 and that plans are already in motion. Venues reportedly being considered for the show include Sydney’s Allianz Stadium, Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, and Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.

Shawn Michaels Teases “Other Surprises” for WWE NXT’s Move to The CW

WWE NXT head Shawn Michaels has dropped some hints about what fans can expect once the gold brand moves to The CW later this year. In a recent interview with WGN Radio, Michaels spoke about the move which will see CM Punk appear on the premiere episode.

“I can’t let the cat out of the bag right now. CM Punk will be there, and he’s going to be playing a major role, obviously. But beyond that, we have other surprises in store that I think are going to make this a very special night for everyone.”

WWE NXT will move to The CW on October 1, and CM Punk will be at the premiere episode in Chicago, Illinois. The October 8, episode will take place in St. Louis, Missouri and will feature an appearance by the city’s own Randy Orton.

WWE NXT on The CW

Last year, WWE and The CW Network announced a 5-year partnership that will bring NXT to broadcast television 52 weeks per year through late 2029. The deal will be the most lucrative contract WWE’s developmental brand has ever faced, and mark the end of five years on the USA Network.

This move will be just one of three that are set to shake-up the WWE broadcasting landscape. WWE SmackDown will soon be moving from FOX to the USA Network, guaranteeing that there will still be wrestling on the channel even when NXT departs. The biggest change will come in January 2025 when RAW moves to Netflix. The 10-year agreement is worth an estimated $5 billion and will see John Cena appear on the premiere episode.
