  • Tommy Dreamer Speaks On His Beef With James Ellsworth, Drinking Undertaker’s Tobacco Spit

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I85h-knk7ik

During a recent appearance on Under The Mat Radio, former WWE and ECW star Tommy Dreamer took the opportunity to air out an issue he has with current SmackDown Live star James Ellsworth. Dreamer revealed that Ellsworth was booked for one of his House Of Hardcore events, and the deal fell through.

“Myself and now a mystery partner will be facing [The Spirit Squad] coming up at House of Hardcore 23, because WWE pulled James Ellsworth and I’m not happy about that,” Dreamer said. “James Ellsworth screwed over Dean Ambrose, that was storyline, but he screwed me over for real and I’m pissed off about it.”

Dreamer also talked about one of the strangest moments in his career — when he drank The Undertaker’s tobacco spit live on Monday Night RAW. He says it was rough to get through, but thinks anyone else in his position would have done the same.

“Yeah it was gross, it was real, I got $7,000 to do it and I got to wrestle the Undertaker three to four times,” Dreamer explained. “So I think anyone might do the same. Yeah that was rough, and it was live.”

You can listen to the entire interview, where he also reveals the craziest things fans have done for him, at this link.

WWE RAW Results & Discussion (12/19)

This week’s episode of WWE RAW aired live from the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH.

    – RAW opens up with fireworks, and the stage has Christmas trees and gifts all over it. We go right to the ring with Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho. Owens welcomes us to the “Chris and Kevin show,” then shows us highlights from last night’s Roadblock pay-per-view. Owens says the Codebreaker he took last night didn’t hurt as much as when he thought Jericho was no longer his best friend. Jericho says giving Owens the Codebreaker hurt him more than it hurt Owens, but he had to make the referee believe it was a legitimate interference. Jericho says he’s going to give Owens a gift — the hug of Jericho, bring it in mannnnn. Jericho talks about Santa Claus, and accuses him of stealing his “list” gimmick. He calls Santa a stupid idiot, and informs him that he just made The List. Mick Foley comes out to interrupt. He defends Santa Claus, then shows the footage of Jericho and Owens getting beat down by Rollins and Reigns after their match last night. Jericho cuts a promo on Foley for wearing a leather sport coat, and tells him it’s the worst thing he’s ever seen. Foley says he hasn’t seen anything yet, and he takes off his jacket to reveal a Christmas-themed shirt and a fanny pack. Foley accidentally calls the crowd Pittsburgh, PA, instead of Colombus, OH. Foley corrects himself, and Jericho and Owens try to cover for him with some heel remarks. Foley says he has a Christmas gift for them, and then he lowers a shark cage from the ceiling. Foley says at the Royal Rumble, it’s be Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns, with Chris Jericho suspended above the ring in a shark cage. Foley makes fun of the way Jericho says “again.” Jericho and Owens complain about the shoddy and unsafe construction of the shark cage, and that it says “made in Ohio” so it must be crap. Jericho stands inside to examine the construction, and he tells Foley to demonstrate that the door is solid. Foley locks Jericho in the cage, but then has trouble finding the key in his fanny pack among he other items in it. Foley says he messed up and forgot the key, and Jericho starts freaking out. Foley gives the signal to raise the cage, and it raises Jericho up into the air as he screams at Owens to save him. Jericho yells instructions backstage to work on finding him a key, and until then, he’ll remain hanging above the ring.

    – Jericho was let down during the commercial break, and we see him backstage recovering. It turns out Jericho has a horrible fear of heights, and Owens has to get him an oxygen tank.

Rusev def. Big Cass via DQ: Enzo and Cass cut a promo before the match, but they’re cut short by Rusev’s entrance music. After only a couple of minutes, Cass starts stomping on Rusev in the corner and the referee instructs Cass to stop. Cass doesn’t stop, so the referee calls for the bell, and Rusev wins via disqualification. Rusev pushes Cass off of him and heads to the back.

    – Sasha Banks comes out to the ring with a crutch and her leg in a cast, and talks about losing at Roadblock last night. She says Charlotte was the better woman, and that she doesn’t feel like a “boss” anymore. She asks for Charlotte to come out to the ring so she can congratulate her in person. Instead, Nia Jax comes out. Nia says Sasha will never be the boss to her because she’s weak. Nia kicks out Sasha’s crutch and throws her across the ring, then heads to the back.

    – Mick Foley meets backstage with Sheamus and Cesaro, and he presents them with the new RAW Tag Team Titles, which have red straps with silver plates. Foley is quickly interrupted by a referee who says he needs to come help. We cut to Braun Strowman in the hallway beating up random people, looking for Sami Zayn. Foley confronts Strowman and tells him Zayn isn’t in the building. Strowman walks off angry.

Cedric Alexander def. Noam Dar: Alicia Fox is at ringside in Alexander’s corner. Alexander takes control early on with an elbow to the head, but Alexander comes back with a boot to the head. Dar goes up top for a double foot stomp, but Alexander rolls out of the way and drops him with a spinning kick to the head. Alexander follows up with a springboard flying clothesline, then the Lumbar Check for the win. Dar cuts a promo after the match, saying he wants Alicia Fox.

    – The New Day comes out to talk about losing their Tag Titles last night at Roadblock. They’re interrupted by Sheamus and Cesaro, who are arguing with each other. Gallows and Anderson interrupt next. They call The New Day nerds, and say that Sheamus and Cesaro wouldn’t have beaten them if it weren’t for them softening up The New Day beforehand. The Shining Stars interrupt next, and promote their resort and hotel. Cesaro rips up their hotel brochure, and all four teams start brawling in the ring as we go to commercial break.

The New Day, Sheamus, & Cesaro def. The Shining Stars, Gallows, & Anderson: Gallows and Anderson take turns beating down Kofi early on. Anderson hits a spinning heel kick early on for a two count, then tags Gallows back in and works on Kofi in the corner with body shots. Gallows and Anderson continue to isolate Kofi and hit the Boot Of Doom for a near-fall. Kofi finally gets the hot tag to Big E, who hits Anderson with a series of three belly to belly suplex. Big E goes to follow up with a splash, but Sheamus tags himself in. Epico tags in, and immediately takes ten shots to the chest from Sheamus then a running senton. Cesaro tags in and assists Sheamus on hitting the White Noise on Epico. The aprons clear all eight men brawl in the ring until it’s down to Cesaro and Epico. Cesaro swings Epico then puts in the Sharpshooter for the win via submission.

    – Neville comes out to the ring to cut a promo. He gets mad at the crowd for cheering for him last night when he beat down Perkins and Swann. Neville warns the cruiserweight division that he’s going to obliterate them, and with that, Rich Swann interrupts. Swann interrupts, and Neville tells him he has no respect. Swann gets in the ring and says that as long as he has the cruiserweight title, he’s the best. Brian Kendrick interrupts next, and says he’s on Neville’s side and says Swann has no respect for the pioneers of the division. Kendrick and Neville beat down Swann. TJ Perkins comes in for the save, but Neville single-handedly drops him while Kendrick stands back and watches. Neville leaves and Kendrick hits the Sliced Bread on Perkins.

    – Backstage, we see that Enzo Amore is ordered to attend a sensitivity training class because he exposed himself on RAW last month. He shows up to class, and also in the room are Darren Young, Bob Backlund, Jinder Mahal, and Bo Dallas.

Titus O’Neil vs. Sin Cara – No Contest: Shortly after the bell, Braun Strowman interferes and lays out both men. Strowman throws Titus outside and hits a running powerslam on him onto the floor at ringside. Sin Cara comes flying out of the ring with a suicide dive, but Strowman catches him and slams him. Strowman carries Sin Cara up to the stage, where Mick Foley comes out and pleads with him to stop. Strowman throws Sin Cara through a Christmas tree and into a big pile of decorative gift boxes. Strowman leaves as referees help Sin Cara.

    – Backstage, Jericho complains to Owens that he has “arachnophobia” and is scared of heights. Owens tells him to stop worrying about the cage, and focus on their match tonight. They say that tonight, Rollins and Reigns are going to get… it.

    – Charlotte comes out and cuts a promo about now being a four-time Women’s Champion. Bayley interrupts and says she wants to congratulate Charlotte. Bayley says Charlotte vs. Sasha will go down as a great rivarly, and now it’s time for the Charlotte vs. Bayley rivalry to begin. With that, we have a match.

Bayley def. Charlotte: After several minutes of evenly matched offense, Bayley takes control of the match with a series of clotheslines. She throws Charlotte out to the apron, and gives her a neckbreaker back in the ring throug hthe ropes. Bayley spears Charlotte in the corner and follows up with a running elbow to the head. Bayley goes for a tornado DDT, but Charlotte escapes it and follows up with a moonsault for a two count. Charlotte hits the chops to the chest, then talks trash to Bayley. Bayley rolls up Charlotte quickly and scores the win. The replay shows that Charlotte’s right shoulder was up before the referee got to three.

    – We take a look back at Enzo’s sensitivity training class. Bob Backlund and Darren Young do a role reversal exercise where they impersonate each other. Enzo does Jinder and makes fun of him, and Jinder comes back saying Enzo has little man syndrome. They get in each other’s faces, but their teacher tells them not to fight. At the end of the class, the teacher goes to hand Enzo his certification, but Enzo says he’s already certified. He starts flirting with the teacher, but then gets surrounded by Rusev and Jinder. They both jump Enzo and beat him down together. Lana then walks in and slaps Enzo across the face, and Rusev Rock Bottoms him through a table.

Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns – No Contest: Jericho and Owens control the opening moments of the match against Rollins. Owens and Jericho use frequent tags to stay on the offensive against Rollins. Rollins comes back with a suplex on Jericho, then gets the tag to Reigns. Owens tags in and Reigns starts working on him with right hands. Jericho and Rollins tag back in shortly after, but Owens pulls Jericho to the outside to avoid a splash from Rollins in the corner. Rollins and Reigns follow the heels to ringside and they brawl on the ramp until Rollins throws Jericho back in the ring. Reigns tags in and they double team Jericho. Owens tags in and Reigns goes to work on him with a series of clotheslines in the corner. Jericho runs in and Reigns drops him, then Reigns turns around into a superkick from Owens. Owens stomps on Reigns then tags in Jericho. Jericho works on Reigns, then levels him with a dropkick. After an assist from Owens at ringside, Jericho starts slapping Reigns in the back of the head. Owens tags in and he continues the beat down on Reigns. Reigns comes back with a Samoan Drop, then Rollins and Jericho tag in. Rollins hits Blockbusters off the middle rope on Jericho then Owens. He hits a neckbreaker and DDT combo on both Owens and Jericho at the same time. Rollins attempts a Pedigree on Jericho but he fights out, so Rollins kicks him in the head and clotheslines him to the outside. Rollins follows up with a suicide dive on both Jericho and Owens at ringside. Rollins throws Jericho back in the ring and hits a flying knee to the head. Rollins goes for a Frogsplash, but Jericho blocks it with his knees, then puts Rollins in the Walls of Jericho. Rollins reaches the ropes to break the hold. Jericho goes to hit a springboard dropkick onto Reigns on the apron, but Reigns superman punches him in mid-air. Reigns reaches for the tag from Rollins, but Braun Strowman comes out of nowhere and pulls Reigns off the apron. Strowman beats down Reigns at ringside as Owens and Jericho stomp on Rollins in the ring. Jericho and Owens run away, and Strowman beats down Rollins next. Owens and Jericho throw Reigns into the ring for Strowman. Strowman hits a running powerslam on Rollins, then on Reigns. WWE RAW Results & Discussion (12/12)

This week’s episode of WWE RAW aired live on the USA Network from the Wells Fargo Center Philadelphia, PA. This was the go-home episode before Sunday’s Roadblock pay-per-view.

The New Day (c) def. Gallows & Anderson vs. Sheamus & Cesaro: The New Day cuts a promo before the match and Xavier dedicates the match to his late grandmother. The New Day gets the upper hand over Sheamus early on with a series of double team moves from Big E and Kofi. Cesaro gets the tag and goes back and forth with Kofi, then Gallows gets the tag from Cesaro and drops Kofi with a big boot. Sheamus tags back in and starts working on Gallows, hitting his signature clubbing blogs to the chest over the ropes. Cesaro tags in and absolutely cleans house, hitting his signature offensive moves on every opponent in the match both inside and outside the ring. Sheamus tags in and Cesaro sets up Anderson for a successful Brogue Kick, but then Kofi comes out of nowhere with the Trouble In Paradise on Sheamus for the win.

    – The New Day arrive backstage for their celebration party for becoming the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions. They start spraying champagne everywhere, and it gets all over Stephanie and in her eyes. Stephanie freaks out and flips over a giant bowl of Booty-O’s. After the commercial break, we see Stephanie drying off backstage when Kevin Owens approaches her and says he has an idea for her she might like.

Braun Strowman def. Curtis Axel: Strowman tosses Axel across the ring early on then hits a running splash in the corner. Strowman hits a clubbing blow to the chest of Axel, then puts him in the Torture Rack. Axel fights out and goes for a missile dropkick off the middle rope, but Strowman clotheslines him out of the sky. Strowman follows up with a wheelbarrow facebuster for the win. After the match, Byron gets in the ring to interview Braun, and Braun gets in his face. Byron asks Braun about Sami Zayn’s challenge, and Braun says Foley is protecting Zayn. Strowman says Sami can’t last two minutes in the ring with him, nor can anyone else.

    – Sami Zayn approaches Mick Foley backstage and demands that Foley gives him his match against Strowman. Foley says he can’t because of how their last match went, and says Strowman would end Sami’s career. Sami says if Foley won’t give him the opportunities he deserves on RAW, maybe he doesn’t need to be on RAW anymore. Foley says out of respect to Sami, he’ll call Daniel Bryan and work out a trade.

Ariya Daivari def. Lince Dorado via DQ: Daivari opens up the match in control, and after a couple minutes Jack Gallagher’s music hits and he interrupts. He grabs the mic and calls Daivari a scoundrel, then they start brawling around ringside. They roll into the ring and Gallagher dropkicks Daivari back to the outside, then Daivari retreats.

    – We see Seth Rollins backstage getting ready to come out and host The Rollins Report.

    – Rollins comes out to the ring and introduces his guest Kevin Owens. Owens comes out, but then walks back behind the curtain. Owens reemerges with a stool and sits on the stage instead of joining Rollins in the ring. Owens says the only reason he came out is because he has an announcement to make. Rollins keeps interrupting Owens to ask how his friendship with Jericho is doing. Owens says Jericho will have his match on Sunday against Reigns, and says he’ll have Jericho’s back in his match against Rollins. Owens announces that after talking to Stephanie McMahon, she has decided to put The New Day in another Tag Title match tonight against the team of Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho. Jericho comes out next to interrupt. After some brief words, Jericho and Owens hit the ring and start beating down Rollins. – Lana comes out to the ring to introduce Rusev. Rusev comes out and addresses last week’s assault on Enzo, and he says he has footage of him and Lana taking care of business. Rusev and Lana tell the children to close their eyes, because they’re going to show them what Lana does behind closed doors. They show the footage of them beating down Enzo in the hotel last week, then they continue cutting a promo on Enzo. Big Cass comes out to defend Enzo, and he hits the ring to fight Rusev. After some back-and-forth brawling, Rusev tackles Cass through the ropes to ringside. After some more fairly evenly matched brawling, Cass gets the upper hand and Rusev retreats up the ramp.

    – Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho are backstage preparing for their Tag Team Titles match tonight.

Sami Zayn def. Jinder Mahal: Sami starts off aggressively, but Mahal manages to keep him grounded momentarily. Zayn quickly comes back with a t-bone suplex in the corner and a running big boot for the win after a very short match. After the match, Mick Foley comes out to the ring. Foley tells Sami that he will be trading him to SmackDown, for a talent of equal value. He gives Sami the paperwork to sign, and makes sure it’s what Sami wants. Sami asks one last time for a match with Braun Strowman, and Foley says the answer is no. Before Sami signs, Foley tells him that he’ll be traded straight up for Eva Marie. Sami says he’s worth a thousand Eva Maries, and flips out at Foley. Foley changes his mind and says to focus this anger towards Braun this weekend at Roadblock. Foley says there was never a trade for Eva and he was just getting him fired up.

The New Day (c) vs. Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho vs. Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins: The Tag Team Titles are on the line in this one. Xavier starts off against Rollins with back and forth action. Owens tags in and goes for a Samoan Drop, but Big E gets out and both men go down after a double clothesline. Owens and Jericho go for a double superplex off the top on Big E, but Rollins interrupts. Reigns and Big E interrupt next, and we get a huge double powerbomb/superplex combination. After the dust settles. Owens and Xavier are left in the ring fighting it out. Owens misses a senton drop and Big E gets the hot tag. Jericho comes in and Big E hits a series of belly to belly suplexes on him. Rollins tags himself in and clotheslines Jericho over the top rope. Rollins follows up with a suicide dive on Jericho to the outside, then throws him back in. Rollins then immediately hits a suicide dive outside on Big E. Xavier tags in next and kicks Reigns in the head, then follows up with a springboard flying elbow for a two count. Jericho pins, but Rollins pushes Owens into him to break the pin. Jericho accuses Owens of falling on him and they start shoving each other. Rollins attacks from behind, then hits the Pedigree on Jericho. Big E pulls Rollins outside, then Xavier rolls ontop of Jericho for the pin and he scores the 3 count. The New Day wins and are still the Tag Team Champions. Jericho and Owens continue yelling at each other after the match, and Jericho says they’re done. Jericho leaves, and Owens turns around into a spear from Reigns. Reigns holds up the WWE Universal Title and the U.S. Title as RAW goes off the air.

  • Jerry Lawler Speaks On Why He Was Really Pulled From The RAW Pre-Show Panel

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xgYCVvNz9w

Jerry “The King” Lawler was recently removed from WWE’s RAW pre-show panel, along with Lita. Lawler called in to Memphis radio show Cerrito Live over the weekend to address his departure from the WWE Network-exclusive shows, citing budget cuts as the reason for the change. Lawler said while age was a factor in being replaced by Corey Graves on the USA Network, that wasn’t the case in this change.

Lawler says he was paid the same amount when he switched from SmackDown to the WWE Network pre-shows, and his salary made the pre-shows too expensive to produce. The King noted that his contract is still good until mid-January, and that he expects his next WWE contract to be worth less due to his decreased work schedule.

He told listeners of Cerrito Live that he received a call from WWE Chairman Vince McMahon right after the decision was made to pull him from the pre-show panel. McMahon reportedly told Lawler that he will always have a job in WWE, including hosting duties for the Hall of Fame ceremonies.

Lawler noted that he expects to pick up more WWE Network duties and work on more projects about the history of Memphis wrestling.

  • New Details On What Started The Backstage Heat Between Shane & Stephanie McMahon

New Details On What Started The Backstage Heat Between Shane & Stephanie McMahon

There have been several reports this year on the backstage tension in WWE between Shane McMahon, and both his sister Stephanie and her husband Triple H. Bret Hart said on his podcast that even he picked up on the tension between them during a backstage visit in May. Hart noted that he feels Vince “loves” the real-life drama between his children.

A new article by Vice has shed some more light on what originally sparked the backstage tension between Shane and Stephanie. Vice claims WWE confirmed to them that there was a “surprise meeting” prior to the launch of NXT when Vince was “on edge” about declining ratings. The 2012 meeting was held at a WWE production office away from the corporate headquarters, and Shane McMahon showed up with his friend, writer James Frey. During the meeting, Shane proposed that he take over the creative team and writers’ meetings, with Frey and his team joining as consultants.

According to the article, when Stephanie found out about the meeting “she went white in the face.” Vice’s source also said that “[Triple H] freaked out” at the news. Vice’s source says at that time, Stephanie and Triple H felt that the company was “theirs” and that Shane was threatening them.

Vice’s article also mentions WWE Executive VP Kevin Dunn, who is one person Stephanie and Triple H don’t have authority over. Dunn is close with Shane, and the article speculates that Dunn would likely push for Shane taking the creative reigns. Dunn is the second highest-paid person in WWE behind Vince, with a 2016 base salary of $909,560.

Vince ended up declining Shane’s offer. A source told Vice that the WWE Chairman still makes the final say on everything that happens in the company, saying that it’s “an insular company run by Vince McMahon.”

TNA is advertising a “Tag Team Apocalypto” match that will happen at Matt Hardy’s compound, and tag teams from “all over space and time” have been invited to compete. In a Taz Show interview, Jeremy Borash teased that some wrestlers would be openly breaking their contracts to take part in the match from Hardy’s house. Borash also recently spoke to Sports Illustrated to promote the match, saying that it would be different from anything we’ve ever seen.

“Tag Team Apocalypto will be the most amazing match ever presented on television,” Borash told SI.com. “Bold statement. Different than anything you’ve ever seen.”

Borash continued, saying that wrestling needs to “evolve with the rest of entertainment,” and predicts that the Tag Team Apocalypto match will have a lasting impact on the industry.

“This will be looked back at someday as a game changer,” he said. “Early screeners have left people stunned. Books may be written on this match. With the secluded nature of our shooting, there will be a number of talents showing up you would never expect.”

Borash stopped short of mentioning the names of who would be showing up. The match will air on a special episode of Impact Wrestling later this month that will be entirely filmed from Matt and Jeff Hardy’s compound in North Carolina.

  • Cody Rhodes: NXT Is Doing A Great Service To The Wrestling Business

Cody Rhodes was recently a guest on the Wrestling With Wreget podcast where he discussed his experiences in the wrestling business since leaving WWE. Rhodes talked about the reputation that indie wrestling has as being a “lesser” product, but says that his experience on the indie scene has been fulfilling.

“I have yet to have a lesser experience,” Rhodes said of working with independent wrestling promotions. “I know [bad experiences] might happen, but all the shows I’ve been a part of so far, including tonight, have had a not-indie feel about them. They have a local feel about them. […] So for me I have yet to have an ‘indie experience’, they’ve all been pretty wonderful. Crowds of 800 to 1,000 end up sounding like 18,000. I haven’t, none of them have felt indie yet.”

Rhodes credits NXT with exposing the WWE audience to talent from the independent wrestling scene. Cody says that NXT did a “great service to the business” by spotlighting indie superstars. Rhodes credits NXT with helping spark new interest in indie wrestling and sending people “in the thousands” to independent shows.

  • Stephanie McMahon Speaks On Vince Receiving Death Threats

Before WWE became a global success, Vince McMahon’s competition with other American wrestling promoters was so fierce that he would receive death threats. Stephanie McMahon was recently at the Powerful Women Next Gen Summit in California where she told Fortune Magazine about her father’s stiff competition from other promoters.

“[Vince] was invading their territories, and getting better television coverage,” Stephanie said of WWE’s (then-WWF) expansion in the 1980’s. “He thought he had the better product, and ultimately, he did, and they didn’t take to kindly to that.”

It’s well-documented that other promoters had discussed the idea of having McMahon killed. Stephanie shared a story Vince had shared with her about someone threatening his life to his face.

“He told me a great story about a threat from a notorious gangster and being in this room, this old hotel, with the dark wooden panel walls and this big oversized man with a very unattractive face,” she said. “He was threatening my Dad’s life and my Dad was willing to stand up to him and all these different people to make his dreams come true.”

Stephanie also talks about delaying her book because it’s the first one from her family, and she wants to make it “bigger and better.” You can read her entire interview at Fortune.com.
