Becky eventually decides she doesn’t want to wait until Sunday, and hits Alexa with a right hand across the table. Becky beats down Alexa in the ring and takes her up to the top turnbuckle, but then Alexa pushes Becky off and right through the table in the ring.

Ambrose says Ellsworth doesn’t need to thank him, but he can wash his car and pick him up a six-pack. Dean asks Ellsworth is he’s rooting for him to beat AJ Styles at TLC on Sunday. Ellsworth says while he would love to see Dean win, he’s got three wins over AJ Styles, and if AJ retains the World Title, Ellsworth thinks he might have a shot at beating AJ a fourth time. This brings out the face that runs the place, AJ Styles, who comes down the ramp to interrupt. Styles stands on top of the announce table at ringside and tells Ellsworth that he’s nothing more than a prop whose only purpose is to insult AJ. AJ says that Ellsworth never would have had a shot at beating him if Ambrose didn’t interfere every time. Styles says he’s going to beat Ambrose so badly at TLC that he won’t be able to walk, and AJ dares Ellsworth to show up so AJ can get his hands on him with tables, ladders, and chairs. Ambrose warns AJ that there’s going to be carnage at TLC on Sunday, and that Ambrose will reclaim what’s rightfully his: The WWE World Title. AJ Styles shoves Ambrose into a ladder then out of the ring, then he throws Ellsworth across some chairs. AJ throws the steel ring steps at Ambrose at ringside, then rolls back in the ring and starts beating down Ellsworth. AJ grabs the ladder and slams it across Ellsworth’s back, then he throws Ellsworth out to ringside. AJ hits Ellsworth across the back with a steel chair, then sets up Ellsworth for a Styles Clash on the steel ring steps. AJ gets him up, and jumps off the ring steps with a Styles Clash on Ellsworth down to the ringside floor.

Both men get up and start trading right hands in the middle of the ring, until Kane grabs Harper by the throat and hits a chokeslam for the win.

Randy Orton & Bray Wyatt def. American Alpha: The winner of this match will get a shot at Health Slater & Rhino’s Tag Team Titles. Gable climbs up top, but Bray knocks him off down to the ringside floor. Back in the ring, Bray hits a running clothesline in the corner, then a DDT on the apron before he tags Orton back in. Orton takes Gable up on the turnbuckle and hits a superplex off the very top rope. Jordan and Wyatt tag in, and Jordan hits a suplex on Wyatt for a two count. Gable hits a suicide dive on Orton at ringside, while back in the ring Wyatt comes back with a clothesline on Jordan. Jordan comes back and drops Wyatt with a German suplex, but then the lights cut out. When the lights are back on, Luke Harper is at ringside. Jordan is distracted by Harper, then turns around into Bray Wyatt who attempts the Sister Abigail. Gable makes the save with a dropkick on Wyatt, then they attempt the Grand Amplitude but Orton breaks it up. Orton hits an RKO on Gable, then Bray gets back up and hits the Sister Abigail on Jordan for the win. As The Wyatt Family celebrates in the ring, we see Heath Slater and Rhino watching on a monitor backstage. AJ Styles interrupts them and Slater and Rhino get in the champ’s face. Before anything happens, Dean Ambrose comes running in the room and starts beating down AJ. Ambrose brawls with AJ over a table and pummels him on the ground as SmackDown goes off the air.

  • Report: WWE Gave Announcers Unique Instructions For Goldberg vs. Lesnar At Survivor Series

Report: WWE Gave Announcers Unique Instructions For Goldberg vs. Lesnar At Survivor Series

Brock Lesnar vs. Bill Goldberg was the shortest match at this year’s Survivor Series pay-per-view, and because of that WWE’s announcers were reportedly told to call the match differently. Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter this week that WWE instructed their announcers to call the main event “like a fight,” as opposed to how they called the rest of the card.

According to Meltzer, WWE’s goal was for the match to have an explosive MMA-style finish. The company reportedly felt that their audience is familiar enough with UFC that fans wouldn’t be disappointed by the quick match, especially if they present it more like a “fight” than how they presented the other matches. Before the show, announcers were instructed how to call the match differently to help WWE achieve their desired effect.

Goldberg is currently scheduled to take part in January’s 30-man Royal Rumble match, and is expected to have a rematch with Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 in April.

  • Chris Jericho Speaks On The Finish Of Goldberg vs. Lesnar At Survivor Series

Chris Jericho Speaks On The Finish Of Goldberg vs. Lesnar At Survivor Series

On the latest edition of the Talk Is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho talked about the finish of the Brock Lesnar vs. Bill Goldberg match at Survivor Series. The former World Champion praised the match’s shock-value and called the idea “brilliant.”

“Everyone was shocked, everyone was surprised, but after thinking about it for a minute, I think it was actually a pretty brilliant finish,” he said.

Jericho feels that the 86-second Survivor Series match helped generate buzz while protecting both performers from a “plodding” longer match. Lesnar and Goldberg’s previous 13-minute match in 2004 was nearly universally panned in reviews.

“I loved the Goldberg finish. I think it was very smart,” Jericho said. “Had they gone out there for about a 10-minute match, and kind of been a little bit plodding, or maybe somebody blows up or whatever it may be, I don’t think it would have been as effective. It was a shock-value, water cooler moment. Everybody’s talking about it. It sets up for a huge main event rematch; and we have something to talk about, so I think it was a great idea.”

Jericho congratulated Lesnar and Goldberg on a successful match, and Goldberg on making an impressive comeback.

  • Backstage News On Why WWE Signed Goldberg

Backstage News On Why WWE Signed Goldberg

Goldberg is officially back on the WWE roster after defeating Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, but that wasn’t always WWE’s plan for the former undefeated WCW World Champion.

According to a new report by Dave Meltzer the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE’s original plan to have Goldberg lose in a one-off match against Lesnar was changed due to the recent decline in WWE’s TV viewership. The company decided that bringing Goldberg back for more than just that one match would be good for their viewership in 2017.

It sounds like now that Goldberg is back, that also means the plans original for Lesnar vs. Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 33 have been scrapped. Some in company management wanted to stay on course for Lesnar vs. Shane, but Vince McMahon ultimately made the call to start building to a Lesnar-Goldberg rematch at WrestleMania.

According to the report by Meltzer, Goldberg negotiated “phenomenal single-event deal” and is willing to wrestle any time for paydays like that.

  • Rick Steiner On His Brother Scott Being Right About TNA & His Beef With Hulk Hogan (Video)

Former Tag Team Champion Rick Steiner recently sat down for a comprehensive interview with Hannibal TV where he talked about the controversy between his brother Scott and WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan. Steiner and Hogan had a highly-publicized beef, including Twitter rants and an alleged incident between Steiner and Hogan’s wife at an airport. Rick says the beef between Scott and Hulk got carried away on Twitter, but that Scott didn’t like Hogan to begin with.

“There were some things being said and my brother brought up some stuff that was pretty personal, that was true that they didn’t want to come out,” Rick said of Scott’s Twitter rants. “I wasn’t there but they said he said something to Hogan’s new wife or new girlfriend or something, I wasn’t there I didn’t see any of it. I know the legality issues of it, there were a couple of lawyers hired, there was some stuff taken out, but my brother ain’t backing down from nobody.”

Scott’s Twitter rants also took aim at his previous employer — TNA. Rick says the things his brother said about the troubled wrestling promotion all ended up being true. Rick feels that people may not like his brother’s approach to airing issues out, but the things he said all ended up coming to light as being true.

As far as Scott’s way with words costing him a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame, Rick says that doesn’t matter to the Big Bad Booty Daddy.

“Everybody is worried about ‘Oh, don’t say that, you won’t be in the Hall Of Fame.’ My brother don’t care. He’ll say what he wants to say,” Rick said.

Rick noted that since stepping away from full-time wrestling, his brother has been opening restaurants in Georgia and Florida.

Update On Potential AJ Styles vs. Undertaker Match At Royal Rumble 2017

After The Undertaker’s return on last week’s SmackDown, reports hit the web that the Dead Man was rumored to face AJ Styles at WWE’s upcoming Royal Rumble event.

Dave Meltzer addressed these reports in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, claiming that there has in fact been discussion within WWE of putting ‘Taker and Styles against each other. However, Meltzer noted that there may be a timing issue in setting the match up for January.

The Undertaker recently underwent hip surgery, and is still currently going through rehab to recover. Meltzer says it’s possible that ‘Taker won’t be medically cleared to wrestle before the January 29th pay-per-view.

The 2017 Royal Rumble takes place in The Undertaker’s home state of Texas at the at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Tyson Kidd Reportedly Pulled From WWE’s Total Divas: “WWE Doesn’t Want My Situation Explained”

Tyson Kidd has reportedly been pulled from the new season of WWE’s Total Divas reality show. When a fan on Twitter asked Kidd about his absence from the show, he replied that he won’t be appearing once this season and that “you’ll have to contact [WWE]” to find out why.

It appears that an issue stemming from Kidd’s near-fatal injury he suffered in a WWE ring during a match with Samoa Joe could be the cause of his absence. When a fan wrote to Kidd on Twitter that she wants his injury situation explained on the show, Kidd replied and explained that WWE doesn’t want that happen.

“Oh believe me, I don’t think [WWE] wants my situation explained,” Kidd wrote. “I’ll leave it at that for now.”

Kidd suffered a serious neck and spinal injury in June of 2015 after taking Samoa Joe’s Muscle Buster in a dark match. The injury reportedly only has a 5% survival rate and a high chance of paralysis, but after spinal fusion surgery Kidd is able to walk again. Dave Meltzer had previously noted that it was “unbelievable” that Kidd came out of the surgery as well as he did.

In a 2015 Sports Illustrated interview, Bret Hart blamed the injury on Kidd not being given adequate time to prepare for the match by WWE. Hart also slammed Samoa Joe’s Muscle Buster as being a reckless move. Kidd was the final graduate of the Hart Dungeon.

  • Scott Steiner Takes Aim At WWE 2K17 & Goldberg In Latest Twitter Rant

In Scott Steiner’s latest Twitter rant, the former WCW World Champion took issue with the new WWE 2K17 video game. Steiner wasn’t happy about not being included in the game, while Goldberg was included.

“Goldberg is featured on #WWE’s new video game and somehow I’m not in the game,” Steiner wrote. “A handful of guys beat Goldberg, and Brock wasnt one of them, but I’m the only one not in the game. I would beat that bald headed bastard in the virtual world also.”

Steiner then took aim at Goldberg directly, saying that maybe Goldberg didn’t want Steiner in the game because he “couldn’t handle getting beat in two different worlds.”

    https://twitter.com/ScottSteiner/status/799777482849316864

Steiner has written several notable Twitter rants in recent years — usually directed towards Hulk Hogan and WWE. Last April, TMZ reported that police were investigating Steiner over alleged threats against Hulk Hogan’s life.

  • Steve Austin Speaks On Goldberg’s First WWE Run Going Wrong & Why He Returned

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qudg8JCdMos

WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin recently appeared on the PWTorch Livecast to discuss the return of his friend Bill Goldberg. During the interview, Austin said he’s glad to see Goldberg back because he didn’t think his first run in WWE was very memorable.

Austin says he doesn’t know if the writing was to blame, or if Goldberg just “didn’t really fit in the system” in WWE in the mid-2000s, but this time around the fans embraced the former WCW World Champion. Stone Cold thinks that Goldberg’s second run in WWE is already going better than the first.

“It was about the crowd responding in such great fashion,” Austin said of Goldberg’s 2016 return. “I’m not sure Goldberg is the greatest promo guy that ever walked the planet that did business in the squared circle, but an A+ promo by Bill Goldberg handling the task at hand, all those emotions, it was completely real and authentic. I felt it was a great piece of television.”

Austin said that he’s excited for Goldberg’s second chance in WWE, and feels he handled his comeback on RAW about as well as anyone could. As far as what motivated Austin’s Longest Yard co-star to return to WWE, he says it wasn’t about the money.

“Yeah, there’s some dollars and some cents on the table that’s going to go to Bill Goldberg and the WWE, but this wasn’t about the money,” he stated.

  • Rey Mysterio Says Lucha Underground Inspired WWE’s Cruiserweight Division

Former WWE Champion and current Lucha Underground star Rey Mysterio feels that LU influenced WWE to bring back the cruiserweight division. On the latest episode of the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, Mysterio theorized that WWE took note of the up-start Lucha promotion’s high-flying action.

“I truly believe now that Lucha Underground has been around for three seasons, it was almost a temptation to display the talent that [WWE] had,” Mysterio said. He feels that WWE started running with more NXT talent on RAW & SmackDown “because of what Lucha Underground is doing.”

Mysterio added that he feels Lucha Underground is completely different from WWE, and has more to offer than WWE in terms of cruiserweight-style action.

WWE’s new cruiserweight series 205 Live is scheduled to air on the WWE Network on Tuesday nights. The WWE Network series debuts on November 29th immediately after SmackDown Live goes off the air.

Kane Says SmackDown Being Two-Hours Gives It An Edge Over RAW, Talks Longevity In WWE

Former WWE World Champion Kane was recently in UK and spoke to Top Rope Press about his longevity in the business and WWE’s current programming. Kane, who has been with WWE since 1995, says the key to longevity in the wrestling business is reinventing your character.

“If you look at guys like Shawn Michaels, HHH and The Undertaker, the reason why they are around so long is because they keep things interesting and hopefully I have been able to do it as well,” Kane said. “A lot of it is because of being open to change. […] Especially if you see the Team Hell No stuff I did with Daniel Bryan, it’s a significant departure from when I first started.”

Kane is currently a member of the SmackDown roster, and noted that he prefers the two-hour show to RAW’s three hours. He feels the brand split has helped SmackDown the most, and that fans have been very receptive to the split.

“I like the two hour format much better than the three hour format,” he said. “I think it’s incredibly hard to produce that sort of content every week. I think Raw has a disadvantage being a three hour show as opposed to SmackDown. In that respect, SmackDown is going places where it was not able to go in the earlier years.”

Report: Vince McMahon Blaming Sasha Banks For Hell In A Cell Botch

Some fans noted that the finish to Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks at WWE’s Hell In A Cell pay-per-view seemed to not go as planned. One of the last spots in the match got botched, and according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is putting the blame for it on Banks.

Banks was supposed to go through a table propped up in the corner of the ring, then take Charlotte’s Natural Selection to finish the match. Instead, the table didn’t break, and one person on the creative side of WWE says Vince reacted negatively towards Sasha over the botch.

There are people in the company who feel she was in a lose-lose situation as she might have also gotten heat for calling an audible and kicking out of Charlotte’s finishing move in order to re-do the table spot.

The decisions for the Women’s Championship match to go on last, and for Charlotte to win the Title, were both made by Vince. He originally didn’t want it to be the main event, but changed his mind after Triple H and others pushed for it.
