The Undertaker Pulled From 3 Upcoming European Tour Shows

We haven’t seen the last of The Undertaker – but several of his advertised dates for WWE’s upcoming European tour have been pulled.

Many fans noticed that The Undertaker left his gloves in the ring at WrestleMania 32, a sign that often signals the end of a fighter’s career. Dave Meltzer noted that The Undertaker was telling people backstage at WrestleMania that his match against Shane McMahon would be his last – something he’s said a few times over the past few years.

The Undertaker had been scheduled for a bunch of dates for this month’s WrestleMania Revenge tour – but he is no longer advertised to appear at the following shows:

  • Brussels, Belgium (April 21st)
  • Paris, France (April 22nd)
  • Málaga, Spain (April 23rd)

The Dead Man is still scheduled to appear at the 4/19 SmackDown tapings from London’s O2 Arena as well as the 4/20 live event from Newcastle. It’s unknown if he’ll be wrestling in London, but he’ll be teaming with Kane against Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan in Newcastle.

Russo Talks About Time In TNA: “Dixie Carter Lies, It’s Part Of Her Persona”

During a recent appearance on Bolin Alley podcast, Former WWE, TNA and WCW writer Vince Russo spoke openly about his time working for TNA and controversial company president, Dixie Carter.

Over the years “Fire Russo” became a chant synonymous with TNA’s crappy booking, but Russo told host Kenny Bolin that during his near-decade stint with TNA, he only served as head booker for 2 months.

“I was at TNA for the good part of 10 years and there was about 2 months where as Mr Bolin would say I had the book. Other than that I will not claim 100% responsibility, simply because I did not have 100% responsibility,” Russo said. “If I had it, I would claim it and have no issue with it. When I first started, Jeff [Jarrett] was in charge of creative and my job was to bring Jeff as many ideas and as many storylines as I could, that was my job but at the end of the day Jeff decided what was on TV and what wasn’t on TV. Jeff was the boss, it was me, Jeff and Dutch Mantell. Then Jeff was sent home because of the Kurt Angle incident and there was about a 2 month there where I was literally in charge of writing the TV.

While talking about Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff’s stint with TNA, Russo bluntly stated that lying is simply part of Dixie Carter’s persona.

“Matt Conway was helping me but shortly after [Jarrett’s departure], Dixie brought in Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan and of course, she lied to me from the offset because Dixie lies very much, that’s part of her persona,” Russo said. “She told me the only creative input that Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan were going to have was as it pertained to Hulk’s character and literally within a week, there was Eric Bischoff sitting in on creative meetings acting like he was the boss, Hulk Hogan acting like he was the boss by the time we got to TV, so that was a period where I was definitely not in control of either.”

His time with TNA wasn’t all negative. Russo said his first year with TNA was probably his most enjoyable time in the wrestling business because he felt that he would have the opportunity to evolve the concepts he helped create during the Attitude Era. However, by the time TNA reached a deal with Fox Sports, it became clear he wouldn’t have the creative freedom he wanted and things went downhill from there.

Prince Puma Possibly Headed To WWE

Ricochet, known as Prince Puma in Lucha Underground, is reportedly not taking any more bookings after June. The Wrestling Observer reports that it’s very likely he’s headed to WWE in the near future.

WWE had previously shown interest in him, but he was under contract to Lucha Underground. His contract finishes after filming the third season of Lucha Underground next month, but he isn’t supposed to work for competition for another 6 months after the season finishes airing in late 2017. The Observer reports that it would be hard for LU to enforce that as they don’t pay him during that time, as opposed to WWE’s 90-day no compete clause where talent does get paid during that time.

Additionally, New Japan is currently looking for a replacement for Ricochet. He currently works for New Japan as Matt Sydal’s partner.

Cody Rhodes Reveals When He Plans To Retire

When asked by a fan on Twitter about his future, Cody Rhodes aka Stardust revealed his plans for retirement. His father Dusty wrestled until he was 60 years old, and his brother Dustin currently wrestles at 46, but Cody says he’s going to bow out of competition a little sooner.

https://twitter.com/PrinceCGR/status/718106999594979328

Cody started wrestling when he was 21 and is currently 30. According to his current plan, he’ll retire in 2026/2027.

Vince’s Reaction To New Day’s WM 32 Outfit

Xavier Woods told IGN in a post-WrestleMania 32 interview that Kofi is the one who came up with their Dragon Ball Z-inspired outfits for the big pay-per-view. He says WWE trusts them more now than when they started to come up with their own outfits, and revealed what usually happens when Vince McMahon first sees one of their ideas up close.

“It’s funny, because we’ll always have some kind of harebrained idea, and then [Vince] sees it right before we go through the curtain, and just kind of gives a little grin and thumbs up,” Woods said.

“It’s to a point now where we kind of have a little bit more trust than we did when we started. And they know we’re not going to go out there and do something that’s going to mess up a sponsorship or anything like that. Things we do are going to do are going to be in-bounds for our PG parameters. Still be fine for kids, but then have something that’s a little bit for adults. We liken it to Shrek: we’re in PG parameters but there’s jokes in there for adults if you’re paying attention.”

AJ Styles: I Didn’t Shed One Tear When I Left TNA

In an interview during WrestleMania weekend, AJ Styles revealed that he had a chip on his shoulder when he left TNA. The former TNA World Champion told the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast about the difference between him leaving TNA and leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling.

“I didn’t shed one tear when I left TNA. I was very emotional when I left New Japan,” Styles said. He mentioned that he had nothing but respect for NJPW, and that the opportunity to work for them helped make his decision to leave TNA.

Styles also noted that he was approached by WWE in 2002 and was offered a developmental deal, but it would have conflicted with his family life so he turned it down. Styles also feels he wasn’t ready for WWE back in 2002.

“Superstar” Billy Graham Slams Shane McMahon’s Big Jump At WrestleMania 32

“Superstar” Billy Graham watched WrestleMania 32 on Sunday and wasn’t impressed by Shane McMahon’s bump off of the Hell In A Cell cage. At the biggest pay-per-view of the year Shane McMahon jumped off the huge cage and crashed through a table, a move Graham says was a “stupid stunt” that could have paralyzed or killed Shane.

Here’s what the WWE Hall of Famer had to say on his official Facebook page:

“I give Shane McMahon zero credit for jumping off the top of that cage, landing on a table that collapsed after the Undertaker moved. Only fools put their life on the line for a stupid wrestling stunt. Risking being paralyzed or dying with a wife and children waiting for him. He has more money than he can spend. So this insane stunt was all for ego. Well, he didn’t impress me. Did he impress you folks?”

Jim Ross Talks NXT Takeover: Dallas, Says He Wants To See Samoa Joe vs. Lesnar

Jim Ross says he thoroughly enjoyed being at WWE’s NXT Takeover: Dallas this past Friday night. The WWE Hall of Famer and former head of talent relations recently posted a new blog entry where he discusses the event that took place just two nights before WrestleMania 32.

“Thoroughly enjoyed myself at WWE NXT Takeover Dallas on Friday night and it was one of the most enjoyable evenings that I’ve ever spent at a pro wrestling show. Loved the booking and the unfiltered effort from the talents who took the ring,” Ross wrote. “The stage we set by the opening match of the Alpha Males vs Dash & Dawson who showed everyone that they are all potential big time players in WWE. Helluva tag match by both teams that demonstrated fundamental soundness, logic, intensity and effort. Really proud of all four men in the match.”

Good ol’ J.R. also talked about Samoa Joe’s match with Finn Balor, and revealed who on the WWE roster he most wants to see Samoa Joe face off against.

“Samoa Joe vs Finn Balor was a Slobber Knocker for sure and here are two more big stars waiting to take off in a major way in WWE,” Ross said. “I’d love to see Joe vs Lesnar someday. Seems like WWE needs to address the procedure of inadvertent blood as to not have to adversely impact the flow of the bout in progress.”

Samoa Joe is rumored to be moving from NXT to the main WWE roster in the near future.

Bray Wyatt: “Me & Brock Lesnar Will Meet Down The Line”

Bray Wyatt is reportedly dealing with a back injury significant enough that he was pulled from planned matches with Brock Lesnar at both WWE Roadblock and WrestleMania 32. Wyatt was recently a guest on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast and he discussed the his injury, and the change of plans for him and Lesnar.

“Me and Brock Lesnar are going to meet. And this is the only way I can put this, me and Brock Lesnar will meet down the line. It will mean something and I’m going to give him my soul and my body, and, hopefully, he doesn’t kill me, but if he does, then, so be it. That’s as much as I can give there. I’ve been beaten up quite a bit this past year. We all have. It [has] been a rough year as far as the curse of the injury, but I’m still ticking, barely, but I’m still here. I’m still alive.”

WWE has reportedly been testing the waters with turning Bray Wyatt face at their house shows.

Jim Ross Rates WrestleMania 32, Talks Roman Reigns Possibly Turning Heel

Former WWE announcer & head of talent relations Jim Ross gives Sunday’s WrestleMania 32 a report card score of B-. In an interview with Sports Illustrated the WWE Hall of Famer gave his thoughts on the biggest pay-per-view of the year, and credited Shane McMahon & The Undertaker with overachieving.

“I give the show a B-minus. The buildup was somewhat tepid since they were scrambling around with so many injuries, and there wasn’t much buzz going into WrestleMania, so I thought the show overachieved,” Ross said. “Shane and the Undertaker both overachieved. They both have a very good skill set, and they’re both smart enough not to venture too far from it.”

Ross also weighed in on the main event match between Triple H and Roman Reigns, where Reigns won the World Heavyweight Championship. Ross says Reigns is now posed for what he feels could be a great heel turn.

“The WWE kept believing their machine could make Roman Reigns a fan favorite by WrestleMania, and it didn’t happen,” said Ross. “That’s a matter of how he was booked. WWE has cast Reigns as a hero, but viewers do not accept him in that role.

“People gravitate to attitude. Austin’s attitude still holds up. Reigns became that defiant, anti-establishment guy, so people naturally compare him to the last anti-establishment guy, and that is Stone Cold. Those are awfully big shoes to fill.”

“Reigns was a victim of timing and booking, but WWE really has the table set for a special heel turn. Unless WWE is hell bent on casting him as a hero, Reigns is posed for a big turn, possibly as soon as tonight. He would make a great heel champion. Unless he’s deaf, Reigns is aware that the fans do not respect him. So there is a very real and organic story to tell with WWE pulling the trigger on a heel turn.

Jericho’s music hits and Y2J makes his way out, but he’s not in his wrestling gear. Jericho tells Reigns he’s not “the guy,” he’s just “a guy, who is an idiot like everyone else here tonight.” Jericho cuts a promo about how great he is, as the crowd chants “we are idiots.” Jericho tells Reigns he wants a title shot, but before Reigns can answer, AJ Styles comes out to interrupt and is quickly followed by Kevin Owens. Sami Zayn is out to the ring next. Owens and Zayn start brawling as soon as Zayn hits the ring, which prompts Styles and Jericho to start brawling. Zayn hits a suicide dive on Oens to the outside. Jericho throws Styles to the outside then turns around and walks into a spear from Roman Reigns.

– In the back, Shane books a Fatal 4 match tonight for #1 contendership for Reigns’ title. The match will be Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho.

Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler – Double count out: They go back and forth in the opening moments with Corbin eventually getting control. Lita introduces the current champion Charlotte who comes down and cuts a promo about the new belt. She thanks her father Ric Flair and the fans for inspiring her to win. Eventually all the other women leave the ring and leave Charlotte and Ric Flair in the ring with Natalya at ringside. Natalya grabs a mic and says she’s going to teach Charlotte a lesson and puts her in the Sharpshooter. Flair pulls Charlotte out of the ring and they head to the back.

The Dudleys def. The Usos: There are tables set up surrounding the ring. The action goes to the outside early on with The Dudley Boyz beating down The Usos around ringside. Back in the ring they hit the Wassup diving headbutt on Jimmy. Bubba and D-Von go to the outside to get the tables, but The Usos come flying over the top rope down ontop of them. Back in the ring, The Usos superkick both Dudleys then lay them on a couple tables. Here’s what WWE.com had to say:

If the emergence of The Rock on The Showcase of The Immortals wasn’t enough, the surprise return of John Cena to help The People’s Champion obliterate The Wyatt Family was simply amazing.

Does his reemergence mean, however, that the 15-time World Champion will actually return to Raw tonight? There’s no denying that the absence of the Cenation leader has been felt and speculation is already running wild. If he is back, he will no doubt look to make up for lost time. But, where will he choose to focus his pent-up aggression?

We’ll have live play-by-play coverage of RAW & discussion tonight starting at 7:30 PM ET!

Stephanie McMahon Speaks On The New WWE Women’s Championship

Stephanie McMahon says the new WWE Women’s Championship belt is a symbol of tradition. In an article she wrote for The Players’ Tribune about WrestleMania 32, Stephanie talked about the unveiling of the new Women’s title belt. Here’s what she had to say:

Lita made reference to all of the pioneers who have led the way for this transition, including “The Great” Mae Young, Fabulous Moolah, Wendi Richter, Sensational Sherri, Trish Stratus and recent Hall of Fame inductee Jacqueline. She spoke of her pride in the Divas Division, the evolution of the Women’s Division, and then she revealed the physical symbol of this transition: a brand new WWE Women’s Championship belt with the same aesthetics as the male WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt. This title belt represents the pinnacle of achievement, and that in WWE, it isn’t about gender, race or ethnicity — it is simply about being the best at what you do.

Charlotte successfully defended the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 32 on Sunday in Dallas, TX against Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks.
