  • Appearance By Brock Lesnar Confirmed For Monday’s RAW

WWE is advertising Brock Lesnar for Monday’s episode of RAW on the USA Network. Lesnar and Heyman will be appearing to hype the Fastlane PPV. Last week on RAW, although he didn’t appear on the episode, Lesnar was booked in the main event for Fastlane against Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns.

WWE confirmed on Thursday’s episode of SmackDown that Lesnar would be in the house on Monday, and updated WWE.com‘s RAW preview to hype The Beast’s appearance. Here’s an excerpt from WWE.com’s updated preview:

The Beast is back. Since The Wyatt Family utilized the no disqualification environment of the Royal Rumble Match to eliminate Brock Lesnar from the bout, The Anomaly has yet to be seen in a WWE ring. With his return imminent, the entire WWE locker room braces for impact. Who will feel the wrath of this raging behemoth? WWE.com has some ideas

One night after The Wyatt Family eliminated Brock Lesnar from the Royal Rumble Match — essentially robbing The Beast of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship — The Authority announced that Lesnar will battle Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose in a Triple Threat Match at WWE Fastlane. The winner of that bout will then go on to WrestleMania to challenge Triple H for the grandest prize in sports-entertainment.

Lesnar can’t be in a good mood in the wake of his Royal Rumble Match defeat, and will be anxious to transform Birmingham, Ala., into Suplex City. But which Superstars will suffer his wrath: Bray Wyatt and his followers, The Beast’s WWE Fastlane opponents or both? No matter who crosses his path, Lesnar is bringing the pain to Raw.

Monday’s RAW airs live from Birmingham, AL at the Legacy Arena. We will have live results & discussion right here on SEScoops.com on Monday night.

  • Possible Match For WWE Fastlane 2016

Possible Match For WWE Fastlane 2016

On Thursday’s episode of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that WWE has another match for their Fastlane pay-per-view lined up. Alvarez says WWE is putting together a match between Braun Strowman and The Big Show for the event, which is the last PPV before WrestleMania.

The main event for Fastlane will be Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar in a triple threat match. The winner will take on Triple H at WrestleMania for the World Heavyweight Title.

WWE Fastlane takes place on February 21 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, and will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets.

  • Chris Jericho Speaks On AJ Styles In WWE: “He’s Going To Be Over Big Time”

On episode 216 of his podcast, Jericho Spoke spoke at length about AJ Styles making his debut in WWE at the Royal Rumble. Jericho talked about when he first saw AJ enter the dressing room that day.

“I think the big buzz of the night and one of the big, huge surprises was the debut of AJ Styles in the WWE, which was a huge, huge get for us. We’ve been waiting to have him for a long time,” Jericho said. “One of the hottest free agents in the world today finally in the WWE and it was really cool because in the first night, in the Rumble, I came in the ring. He and [Roman] Reigns were the only ones in there. All three of us just kind of stood there and it was a really good buzz.”

Jericho added, “when he [came] into the dressing room [prior to the Royal Rumble], I felt a little bit, not bad for him, but I understood what he was going through because he shows up there when we’re having the meeting for the Royal Rumble, because he was probably hiding all day or whatever it was, and he comes into the meeting and he knows some people, but he’s standing in the back and kind of being quiet and doesn’t want to step on anybody’s toes.”

Jericho says he was surprised by being booked in a match with Styles the next night on RAW. He had previously stated that it was Vince McMahon’s idea to put them in the ring together on Monday.

“We worked the next night on RAW, which was another surprise. And when it was pitched to me, it was pitched to me one way and then I had an idea to kind of go another way, so, hopefully, if things keep going the way we hope, you might see another Jericho/Styles match, so we’ll see.” Jericho continued, “I was really happy with [the match]. It was fun. It was fun to get in there with a new guy and kind of suss each other out a little bit. And now, it will only get bigger and more intense as we go forward.”

Jericho predicted a bright future for the former TNA World Champion in WWE. Jericho said that in two nights with WWE, more people who know AJ Styles is than they did for the last 15 years.

“I have no doubt that AJ Styles is going to be over big time in the WWE. He already is, just from his fans that he [has] got, but there [are] a lot of people who have never heard of AJ Styles and don’t know who he is or what he brings to the table. And at the Royal Rumble, we let them know a little bit and we let them know a little bit more on RAW. I love that people were like, ‘Jericho said, ‘welcome to the big leagues, kid’. He [has] been in TNA.’ Listen, I agree. He [has] been all over the world, but the WWE is the big leagues! That’s the truth. It’s not being arrogant or being dismissive of his past, but the WWE is the big leagues. It’s where everybody wants to be if you’re in the [professional] wrestling business. I don’t care what you say. Everybody wants to be in the WWE because this is the big leagues. This is the big time. The biggest pro wrestling company in the world, ever, in front of the biggest stage, the biggest crowds, the most worldwide influence. You go from being the biggest worldwide independent star and in two nights, more people know who AJ Styles is right now than they did for the entire 15 years of his career up to it, so that’s not demeaning. That’s the truth, and if you don’t like it, you’re just living in dreamland because nothing beats being in the WWE.”

Konnan Says Airport Incident Is The Real Reason For Lana’s Backstage Heat

On a recent episode of his podcast, Konnan may have shed some light on why Lana reportedly has more heat with the WWE locker room. As we reported earlier, Dave Meltzer said on Monday that “there was another thing that happened with her and I don’t know all the details, but it has added to her legacy so to speak.”

Meltzer didn’t get into specifics of the incident, but on Konnan’s MLW Radio podcast, he claims there was an incident at an airport recently where Lana was yelling at Rusev in front of people. Konnan claimed that Rusev also had some heat on him for not sticking up for himself to her.

Prior to this incident, she had heat with Vince McMahon himself after she exposed her real-life engagement with Rusev, which conflicted with an on-air storyline.

I think I can accomplish all of my goals with The New Day. We just want to continue giving people something different. What that is yet, I can’t say, but hopefully, we continue to change for the better.”

  • WWE RAW Preview: Fallout From The 2016 Royal Rumble

Early Monday morning, WWE.com posted their official preview write up for tonight’s episode of RAW. Here’s an excerpt:

    Time to play The Game

The Authority always has a plan. In the 2016 Royal Rumble Match last night, Triple H returned to action by entering the bout at No. 30, eliminating Roman Reigns and capturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. How will this shakeup affect The Road to WrestleMania, which continues tonight on Raw?

After consecutively tossing Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose over the top rope in the tense final moments of the Royal Rumble Match, Triple H became a 14-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, punching his ticket to the main event of this year’s WrestleMania. As The Game celebrated with his wife, Stephanie McMahon, and his calculating father-in-law, Mr. McMahon, The Cerebral Assassin also reveled in the demise of The Big Dog’s Show of Shows dreams.

Now that The Authority is once in possession of sports-entertainment’s crown jewel, how will Triple H and the rest of the McMahon family celebrate on Raw? Plus, now that The Game has returned to WWE for the first time since Reigns sent him to the hospital more than a month ago, what’s going through the defeated Big Dog’s mind?

What will be AJ Styles’ next move?

The Royal Rumble Match is always full of surprise entrants, and no participant in last night’s over-the-top-rope melee was more surprising than the world-renowned AJ Styles. Following weeks of global speculation about his WWE status, The Phenomenal One entered the bout at No. 3, and went on to eliminate the imposing Rusev and the arrogant Tyler Breeze before he was tossed over the top rope by Kevin Owens after 28 minutes of battle.

Following his successful and jaw-dropping Royal Rumble Match appearance, might the worldwide sensation emerge once again on Raw?

    Of buzzards and Beasts

It took four members of The Wyatt Family and a flagrant abuse of the no disqualification nature of the Royal Rumble Match, but Brock Lesnar was sent tumbling over the top rope last night, preventing The Beast Incarnate from striding into WrestleMania with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship around his waist.

Now that The Eater of Worlds and his flock have beaten the unstoppable Lesnar for the time being, who will feel their wrath next?

RAW airs at 8PM ET on the USA Network, with the pre-show at 7:30PM ET on the WWE Network. We’ll have live RAW results and discussion here later tonight.

If winning an Olympic gold medal with a broken freakin’ neck didn’t impress you, these 5 facts about Kurt Angle just might. Here are some of the most interesting, little-known facts about the former WWE and TNA champion in no particular order.

    1. Kurt Angle’s sister died unexpectedly the night before his Iron Man match with Brock Lesnar (2003)

What fans do know is that Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle had one of the best matches in SmackDown history on September 18, 2003, when they went 60 minutes in an iron man match. What fans probably don’t know, is that Kurt Angle’s sister passed away of a heroin overdose the night before the match. Angle knew his match with Lesnar would be big, and waited until after the SmackDown taping to take time off.

Jim Ross Predicts Undertaker Appearance In Orlando, Speaks On Sunny’s Sex Tape

In his newest blog on JRsBarBQ.com, Jim Ross spoke on Tammy “Sunny” Sytch’s upcoming porn film for Vivid Video. Ross said he would refrain from judgement, and says he hopes she finds her way to a “healthy place.”

“Many have asked me my take on WWE HOFer Tammy ‘Sunny’ Stych apparently doing a porn film for Vivid Video that is set to be released this spring. My take on this matter is simple….I have no skin in this game, how’s that for being a wordsmith, and I will not be jumping on a soapbox and filibustering my opinion,” Ross stated. “She’s grown woman who can do as she pleases and doing an adult film isn’t a violation of the law. I truly hope that she finds her way to a happy and healthy place in the near future.”

Another hot topic these days is who will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. Ross mentioned a few of the rumored names he’s heard, and wondered if Sting would be appearing on WWE TV again soon to promote the ceremony.

“The latest rumors making the rounds regarding the balance of the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame Class include many of the names that I’ve listed here and talked about on The Ross Report. They include the Freebirds, JBL and Jackie Moore,” Ross wrote. “The latest rumored list also includes Charles Wright aka Papa Shango, Kama, Godfather, et al, and celebrity entrant Regis Philbin. I expect that not over one deceased star will inducted as well. Nonetheless it is shaping up to be a strong class.

“Sting is the leading inductee from a marketing perspective and I wonder if we will see him at the Royal Rumble or on Monday’s RAW?”

Speaking of future Hall of Famers, Ross has a feeling The Undertaker will be making his presence known in some way before the end of Monday night.

“Something tells me that I won’t be shocked if there is an Undertaker sighting in Orlando and/or on RAW Monday,” J.R. predicted.

Kurt Angle Tells Untold HHH & McMahon Stories, Says He Entered His Prime In TNA

In an interview with SI.com, Kurt Angle mentions Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and Triple H as three wrestlers who can “adapt to any situation” in the ring. Kurt shares a story about Triple H specifically, who lead him through their match at SummerSlam 2000 after Angle suffered a concussion and forgot what he was supposed to do.

“Paul [Levesque] led me through that match. As far as being a wrestler, Triple H is up there in the top ten. When I got my concussion at SummerSlam, Triple H did so much for me in that match,” Angle explained. “When I went through that table, I was out. Stephanie [McMahon] brought me back out, and when we got back to the ring, I asked her, ‘What do I do?’ She said, ‘When Rock’s foot hits the rope, grab him.’ So I grabbed him by the foot, and then looked at Stephanie again. And she said, ‘Throw Triple H into the steps!’ So I threw him into the steps, and then she said, ‘Get the hell in the ring!’

“There was a spot where Triple H was going to hit me with his sledgehammer, but I had the concussion and didn’t even know I was out there. My mind was blank. I came to two hours after the pay-per-view. When Triple H was going to hit me, but he actually put his hand on my head and made sure I ducked. If you watch it over, you’ll see that I was clueless, but he was looking out for me the whole match. They literally had to walk me through every step of the match to make sure I was safe. I don’t remember any of it, but for them it must have been a nightmare. Triple H is one of the best I’ve ever seen.”

In the early 2000’s, Kurt Angle and Steve Austin were one of Vince McMahon’s favorite pairings on TV. Kurt explained how Vince would direct him and Austin while filming backstage segments.

“Austin is a real funny guy. None of the stuff we did was scripted,” Angle revealed. “Vince told us, ‘Listen, this is the issue you’re having, say what you have to say, and no one in this room laugh until I say cut.’ It just worked, and it was a blessing in disguise because Austin and I both got hurt at King of the Ring in 2001, so we were on the shelf. Their two biggest stars, at the time, weren’t wrestling, but they wanted to keep us on TV, so they teamed us up together. […] I’m not funny off-camera, so I didn’t know I could be funny. I didn’t even know if I could cut a promo.”

After joining the McMahon empire in 1998, Angle left WWE in 2006 and joined TNA. The Olympic gold medalist feels that he entered the prime of his pro wrestling career while in TNA, and says at 47-years-old, “I can still do it.”

“I had an incredible WWE career, but a lot of WWE fans didn’t see me wrestle in TNA, unfortunately, so they didn’t see what I was able to accomplish there,” Angle explained. “That is when the wheels started spinning in my head, and that’s because I started so late. I started with WWE in ‘99, and within a year-and-a-half, I won the world title. I really didn’t know what the hell I was doing. I was just following guys, like the Undertaker, Triple H, Rock and Austin. They would lead me through matches, and then I started getting the hang of it. That’s when I started having those matches with [Chris] Benoit and Eddie [Guerrero] and Brock Lesnar. I just kept getting better.

“I was very fortunate to wrestle a lot of great guys in TNA, and I’ve had a much better career because I got my head together, and started understanding [ring] psychology and how to put a match together and how to make it more exciting. My philosophy on a match is to base everything around your finish. For me, that’s the Angle Lock and Angle Slam–how do you counter it and get back into it–and I’ve always based my matches on that. A lot of guys have a lot of false finishes, but the fans don’t really get behind a match until you get your finish, so I was able to integrate my finish more. I just learned more, and I kept getting better. I’m 47, and I can still do it.”

Kurt Angle will be a free agent after his current TNA contract expires at the end of January. He has indicated that he wants to take a year off from active competition. TNA has offered him a non-wrestling contract, and he will be working as a color commentator for Bellator MMA’s live Spike TV show on February 19.

  • Report: TNA Opens Itself To Lawsuit Over Bullet Club Claims

TNA issued a statement on Friday claiming that AJ Styles, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson had backed out of signed contracts with them, and now, the plot thickens. Dave Meltzer of WrestlingObserver.com reported this weekend that the three wrestlers “didn’t sign sh*t” with TNA. “In the case of Anderson,” Meltzer continued, “TNA opened itself up to a [contract] tampering lawsuit with New Japan.”

Anderson’s NJPW contract reportedly expires next week, so it would be impossible for Anderson to sign with TNA without contract tampering by TNA.

At least one of the three wrestlers may have merely used TNA to drive up their price for a WWE contract. “One of the three for sure, if not all three, were not looking at TNA for leverage for WWE,” Meltzer reported, “and it was WWE going to them after hearing they may go to TNA and making a better offer.”

There is speculation that TNA’s legal threat may be an attempt to “scare” WWE into not going through with plans for AJ, Gallows, and/or Anderson. Styles is expected to be backstage at the Royal Rumble on Sunday.
