Becky Lynch vs. Nia Jax, Drew McIntyre vs. Jey Uso Set For 3/4 WWE Raw

WWE superstar Becky Lynch is ready to settle her feud with Nia Jax once and for all. On the February 26 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, Jax attacked Lynch from behind early in the show. Later that night, Lynch got revenge by attacking Jax during her match against Liv Morgan. The company has decided to solve their issues in a singles match next week.

The announcement was made during the show to excite fans for the March 4 WWE Monday Night Raw episode. Jax hopes to rebound from her loss against WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley at WWE Elimination Chamber on February 24. Jax’s defeat also has seemingly put her involvement at WWE WrestleMania 40 in doubt, which fueled her attack on Lynch. However, ‘The Man’ looks ready for her big win over Jax next week.

WWE has booked Lynch as an underdog heading into her title match against Ripley at WWE WrestleMania 40. ‘The Man’ had taken some losses, including a match against Jax on the January 1 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw. Next week’s episode presents an opportunity for Lynch to avenge her loss and continue her momentum heading into the ‘Grandest Stage Of Them All.’

While Lynch and Jax will be in a featured match on the March 4 episode, WWE has announced another big match.

Drew McIntyre vs. Jey Uso Rematch Set For March 4 Episode

Drew McIntyre will also look to build momentum heading into WWE WrestleMania 40. WWE announced that ‘The Scottish Warrior’ will take on Jey Uso in a rematch in next week’s episode.

WWE Monday Night Raw: Jey Uso vs. Drew McIntyre

McIntyre won the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match on February 24 to earn an opportunity to face WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins ‘Grandest Stage Of Them All.’ He hopes to keep the momentum going with an impressive win over Uso. However, WWE may also have another surprise heading into next week.

One of the interesting storylines for McIntyre over the last few months was his disdain for the Bloodline(Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa & The Rock). However, he accepted their help in a win over Cody Rhodes on the February 19 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw. The company is also seemingly building towards a WWE WrestleMania 40 match between Jey and Jimmy. Jimmy may be involved in next week’s matchup to further the storyline with McIntyre and build toward a match with his brother.

Next week’s episode looks to be an exciting show as the WWE continues the ‘Road To WrestleMania.’

Update On QT Marshall’s In-Ring Future and Return To AEW

QT Marshall is officially back with All Elite Wrestling, but he’s working in a slightly different capacity than his role last year.

Marshall attempted to resign from AEW in the summer of 2023 due to issues with the the company’s creative direction, including his own lack of ring time. Tony Khan convinced him to reconsider, but later wound up announcing his formal resignation.

On Monday, Marshall announced on Twitter that he’s back with the company, but does not plan on wrestling any time soon. He’s back working behind the scenes and will continue wrestling “everywhere else” (except WWE).

“I’m not wrestling at AEW. The fans didn’t like me out there so I’m going to wrestle everywhere else. I’m a man of the people,” wrote Marshall.

He’s already back working with AEW and was backstage at Saturday’s Collision tapings. He posted this new ‘promo’ photo of himself, showing that he’s gotten himself into the best shape of his career. He also included the hashtag #VP, an indication that he’s back in a Vice President capacity.

Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling

QT Marshall recently relaunched Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling, the independent promotion founded by the late Dusty Rhodes.

Marshall competed at TCW’s ‘relaunch’ event earlier this month from McDonough, GA.  He teamed with Glacier, Luther Biggs, and Scotty Riggs in a win against Adam Priest, Duncan Mitchell, Owen Knight, and Sunny Daze.

His next appearance will be at Coastal Championship Wrestling Bash At The Brew on March 2. He will take on Martin Stone for the CCW World Heavyweight Championship at CCW Conquer Kissimmee on March 8.

AEW in 2024

AEW getting Marshall to return is another move the company has made to prepare for another record-breaking year,

AEW recently signed former WWE senior writer Jennifer Pepperman as the new Vice President of Content Development. She is expected to be involved with Mercedes Moné as a writer when she makes her debut with AEW.

Earlier this week, the company hired a new backstage announcer.

The company is also reportedly looking to host three stadium shows, as AEWxNew Japan Pro Wrestling Forbidden Door will occur at Arthur Ashe Stadium in June. However, AEW has yet to make an official announcement.

The decision to sign Marshall in a backstage role, as well as other business moves, has the potential to create great results for the company in 2024.

Matt Riddle NJPW Title Defense Set For This Weekend’s MLW NYC Return

Major League Wrestling fans will be in for a special treat this Thursday. The company will have their pay-per-view MLW Intimidation Games at the Melrose Ballroom in New York City, New York.

One of the featured matchups announced had Matt Riddle taking on Big Bad Tito. However, MLW has raised the stakes with Riddle putting his New Japan Pro Wrestling World Television Championship on the line.

A press release from MLW shared that ‘The King Of Bros’ will have his first title defense against Tito. MLW CEO Court Bauer also acknowledged that the new championship match was possible thanks to the business relationship between MLW and NJPW.

“The alliance between New Japan Pro Wrestling and MLW has resulted in this blockbuster title fight,” said Bauer. He continued, “I wish to thank Mr. Naoki Sugabayashi, Mr. Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Mr. Rocky Romero for brokering this title fight and allowing MLW and New York City the honor of hosting this world championship match. This cross-promotional championship clash signifies an era of exciting collaboration and competition in the world of professional wrestling.”

Riddle won the title by defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi at NJPW The New Beginning In Sapporo on February 23. The short-notice defense gives Tito an excellent opportunity to compete for his first NJPW championship in his MLW debut. However, the match style has also changed.

Preview Of Matt Riddle vs. Big Bad Tito At MLW Intimidation Games

Longtime NJPW fans may recall that NJPW World TV Championship matches have a time limit of 15 minutes. This rule adds a new dynamic to Riddle’s match against Tito.

MLW commented on the new match format and its uniqueness to the MLW Intimidation Games card.

“Adding a layer of intrigue to this highly anticipated bout is the unique stipulation attached to the NJPW World Television Championship,” said MLW. They continue, “With a time limit of 15 minutes imposed on all NJPW World Television title matches, both Riddle and Big Bad Tito will be under immense pressure to seize victory within the allotted time frame.”

Tickets for MLW Intimidation Games are still on sale for as low as 19.81 on Eventbrite. However, the new match stipulation could help lead to a sold-out show soon.

Top Free Agent & Former World Champ Potentially Headed to TNA

TNA Wrestling has started their year off to an interesting start. The company began 2024 by re-signing some top stars and a well-received pay-per-view event. Although the departure of former TNA President Scott D’Amore may have lowered some fan and talent morale, the company’s potential next signee could restore excitement to the brand.

Mike Johnson at PWInsider reports that TNA is looking to sign Alex Hammerstone.

Hammerstone would be a big addition to TNA Wrestling

Hammerstone competed for the company this year at TNA Hard To Kill on January 13 against Josh Alexander. The two had a back-and-forth matchup, which saw the former Impact World Champion be victorious.

Hammerstone is currently a free agent, but the report shares that fans should expect him to head to TNA. It also added that the company is interested in getting a deal done but can’t confirm it’s finalized yet.

The free agent decided to leave Major League Wrestling on January 1. Since then, he has competed for various independent wrestling promotions, including Game Changer Wrestling and New Tradition Lucha Libre. Hammerstone is currently the NTLL Heavyweight Championship and is set to defend his title against Sam Adonis on March 16. It’s unclear if Hammerstone’s signing with TNA could affect the results of the match or future independent wrestling dates.

While the company is dealings with a vital office shake-up, they are seemingly still looking to impact the wrestling business in 2024.

Recent Business Moves By TNA

TNA locking down Hammerstone with a deal would be another great addition to the roster. The company has featured new free agents like Nic Nemeth, AJ Francis, and Ash By Elegance. They have also drawn attention recently with independent star Mustafa Ali defeating Chris Sabin at TNA No Surrender to win the X-Division Championship.

The current roster is also trying to move forward after the firing of D’Amore and make the best of the situation. Fightful Select reported that TNA’s parent company, Anthem Sports & Entertainment, and roster members met to discuss TNA’s future

Although morale is not what it was at the start of the year, it is seemingly doing better after the meeting. The new signees and fresh matchups could build back the excitement of what the company envisioned for 2024.

Bronson Reed Missed Elimination Chamber 2024 For The Birth Of His Child

WWE fans were taken by surprise when superstar Bronson Reed failed to qualify for the Men’s Elimination Chamber match on February 24. The Australian native expressed interest in competing at the premium live event but missed the opportunity. During WWE Elimination Chamber, Reed shared that WWE was initially planned to be on the show.

On Twitter, Reed revealed his original involvement at WWE Elimination Chamber and why he’s thankful he wasn’t on the show.

“…Originally, I was set to be at #WWEChamber. It would have been an incredible moment. Unfortunately, plans changed,” wrote Reed. He added, “But everything happens for a reason. My wife and I have had our baby early, I was supposed to miss the PLE to make sure I’m here for my family. Thank you for all your support. To all my friends and family who have reached out.
To
@TripleH
for guiding me.”

It’s worth noting that Reed didn’t exactly share why plans changed for him not to be competing at the PLE. However, it has allowed him to be around for the birth of his child.

Triple H (and many others) congratulated Big Bronson Reed on the blessing of becoming a parent.

Reed lost his opportunity in a match to Bobby Lashley to qualify for the Men’s Elimination Chamber match on the February 12 episode of Monday Night Raw. It’s unclear if WWE may have had another featured match that Reed could’ve been involved in at the event. However, he isn’t involved in a storyline or a feud, so it seems unlikely.

What’s Next For Bronson Reed?

Although Reed has missed out on competing at the PLE in Perth, Australia, he could still be in the picture for a match at WWE WrestleMania 40 in April. The two-night event allows for more opportunities for superstars to be on the card.

WWE also has the annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, which he could be involved with. However, the match has occurred the day before WWE WrestleMania in recent years, so it’s unclear if that will happen again this year.

Despite his current situation, Reed still has a bright career in WWE. Fans may be disappointed that he wasn’t on the WWE Elimination Chamber card. However, thankfully, he was around to be with his wife and newborn child.

Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe Set for Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame Class of 2024

Game Changer Wrestling returns this year to host with Orange Crush for their third Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame. The annual event will occur on April 7 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Tickets are still on sale on Eventbrite for as low as $25. So far, the company has announced two inductees for this year’s Hall of Fame.

GCW announced on February 19 on Twitter that Michael Verdi, AKA Trent Acid, was the first inductee of the 2024 class. He unfortunately passed away in 2010 after a drug overdose. Verdi will be inducted posthumously by his former tag team partner, Johnny Kashmere, with whom he won several tag titles, including the Ring Of Honor Tag Team Championship.

After revealing Verdi as the first inductee of the 2024 class, GCW has quickly announced another addition to this year’s Hall of Fame.

The company shared on February 21 that The Briscoes (Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe) are the second inductees via Twitter. Mark will accept the honors for himself and his brother, who passed away on January 17, 2023 in a car accident.

Mark has not commented on the announcement but has reposted GCW’s reveal on his Twitter account.

More On The Briscoes Induction Into The Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame

The inclusion of The Briscoes is well-deserving, as they were regarded as one of the best tag teams of the last two decades. They won championships for several different independent promotions, including GCW. Briscoes also have the record for most ROH Tag Team Championship reigns with 13.

In 2021 and 2022, they had a career resurgence and had a memorable feud with FTR(Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) in ROH. Briscoes also competed in different companies consistently, proving they were one of the best tag teams in the world.

Their last match together was a loss against Mane Event (Jay Lyon & Midas Black) in a Two Out Of Three Falls Match at House Of Glory: Revelations on December 17, 2022.

Although it’s unfortunate that Jey, AKA Jamin Pugh, is no longer with us, he hasn’t been forgotten. His induction alongside his brother at the Indie Wrestling Hall Of Fame further solidifies his legacy as one of the greats in wrestling.

Seth Rollins Mocks The Rock For Recent Peculiar Comments Ahead Of Elimination Chamber 2024

The war of words has been ongoing between Seth Rollins and The Rock after their altercation at the WWE WrestleMania 40 Press Conference. It all started when Cody Rhodes chose to challenge Roman Reigns for his title at the ‘Grandest Stage Of Them All’ against the Hollywood star’s wishes. This was After The Rock slapped Rhodes and aligned himself with the Bloodline, while Rollins decided to side with the “The American Nightmare.’

Rhodes and Rollins are set to be in a talk show segment with Grayson Waller at WWE Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia, on February 24. Rhodes has yet to accept Rollins’s help to go against the Bloodline, but that may change at the premium live event. Regardless, that hasn’t stopped The Rock from taking jabs at the ‘babyfaces.’

In a video on Twitter promoting WWE Elimination Chamber on February 24, The Rock praised Waller and acknowledged that he won’t be at the event. He also took another shot at Rollins and Rhodes, which some fans have felt were dated.

“…Here’s the bullsh*t that happening now down in Australia. Cody Rhodes and his little girlfriend, Seth Rollins, are going to go on the Waller Effect,” said The Rock.

He then warned both of them not to mention him or that he would come to Australia to slap them. The Hollywood star also kept referring to Rollins as Rhodes’s “Little Girlfriend.”

The Rock’s choice of words has left some wrestling fans feeling that he is out of touch, and Rollins has clapped back at him and Reigns.

Seth Rollins Delivers Creative Response To The Rock & Calls Out Roman Reigns

In response to The Rock, Rollins reposted an article about his comments on Twitter and replied with a popular GIF to symbolize that he’s old. Rollins also decided to call out Roman Reigns at the WWE Elimination Chamber Press Event on February 22.

One of Rollins’s gripes with Reigns is his lack of appearances for WWE events. The WWE Champion is not advertised for WWE Elimination Chamber and doesn’t seem like he will appear on the show. A fan chanted Reign’s name during the Rollins segment at the press event, to which the WWE World Heavyweight Champion chose to highlight Reign’s absence.

“…He(Reigns) isn’t coming, sorry,” said Rollins. He laughed briefly and continued, “Come on, that’s kind of his M.O. He don’t show up, you know what I mean.”

It doesn’t seem like the back-and-forth between these two factions will stop anytime soon. After WWE Elimination Chamber, it could be clear what the creative direction will be for them as the “Road To WrestleMania” continues.

Indi Hartwell & Candice LeRae vs. Kabuki Warriors Added To WWE Elimination Chamber

WWE superstar Indi Hartwell has been hoping to be on the WWE Elimination Chamber card since it was announced last year. It’s the first premium live event in Australia since 2018 and is Hartwell’s home country. The ‘Aussie’ native wanted to be in the Women’s Elimination Chamber match but could not qualify. However, WWE has decided to put her in a tag team contest to add her to the show.

During the WWE Elimination Chamber Press Event, the company announced that Hartwell and Candice LeRae will challenge the Kabuki Warriors(Asuka & Kairi Sane) for the Women’s Tag Team Championship. It will occur on the PLE kick-off on February 24, starting at 4 AM ET/1 AM PT.

Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell vs. Kabuki Warriors

The matchup will mark Hartwell and LeRae’s first opportunity to challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Championship. They have tried to qualify twice for a chance but were unsuccessful. Their last attempt to become contenders was on the November 11, 2023, WWE Monday Night Raw episode, where they lost a Tag Team Fatal Four-Way Match to Natalya & Tegan Nox.

WWE allowing the ‘Babyface’ team to challenge for the titles is also a great way to showcase their ability. They have struggled to maintain a consistent winning streak in the women’s tag division, but an impressive performance could get them featured more on TV.

That said, the Kabuki Warriors are seemingly the favorites to retain their titles at WWE Elimination Chamber this Saturday.

More On Indi Hartwell & Candice LeRae vs. The Kabuki Warriors At WWE Elimination Chamber

Although they are fresh in their title reign, the Kabuki Warriors could be holding the titles heading into WWE WrestleMania 40 this April.

They won the Women’s Tag Team Championship by defeating Katana Chance & Kayden Carter on the January 26 episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown. The ‘Heel’ team also followed up with a successful title defense against Chance and Carter two weeks later on WWE Monday Night Raw.

Asuka and Sane seemingly have momentum on their side, making it unlikely the company would have them drop the titles at WWE Elimination Chamber. However, this Saturday is a moment for Hartwell and LeRae to perform on a big stage. Although they may not win, they could steal the show and create demand for another title opportunity in the future.

For Hartwell personally, she has a chance to live her dream and perform in front of close to 50,000 Australian fans.

AEW Forbidden Door 2024 Headed For NYC’s Arthur Ashe Stadium

All Elite Wrestling is looking to make a statement this year as they look to host three stadium shows. Andrew Zarian reported on February 9 that the company planned to add another stadium show to its 2024 live event schedule.

In a new report from Zarian, AEW could potentially hold two events at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.

On Twitter, Zarian revealed that AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling will collaborate for another Forbidden Door show. However, the event will occur at Arthur Ashe Stadium in June instead of in an arena.

It’s worth noting that AEW has not officially announced the location and date for AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door. That said, the event has occurred in June for the last two years, so it seems possible. AEW has also tried to host shows in bigger venues over the previous year, and it is not surprising that they would try to add a third stadium event to their schedule.

AEW To Host Two Events At Arthur Ashe Stadium?

The announcement to have AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door at Arthur Ashe Stadium is surprising as they have held AEW Grand Slam at the venue for three years. However, the annual September event could be moved to a different location this year.

Zarian had shared information on AEW Grand Slam on Twitter but deleted the post, citing that it was “…Too soon to announce the location.”

An hour later, he confirmed plans were being changed and didn’t share where AEW Grand Slam would be held.

AEW Live Attendance Struggles

The decision to have potentially three stadium events is ambitious, as the company struggles with live attendance. On February 21, AEW held their weekly live episode, AEW Dynamite, at the BOK Center in Tusla, Oklahoma. WrestleTix reported on Twitter the show had a low attendance, with less than 3,300 tickets in a venue that can hold over 10,000.

Although the AEW may struggle in attendance weekly, they have been able to do well for their pay-per-views. On March 3, the company will host AEW Revolution at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex in Greensboro, North Carolina. WrestleTix shared on Twitter recently that close to 17,000 tickets have been sold in a venue that can hold over 20,000 in attendance.

AEW also has AEW All In at Wembley Stadium in London, England, on August 25, which is doing well. WrestleTix noted on Twitter, February 17 that 39,190 tickets had been distributed, and the company had yet to announce a match.

The decision to have AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door could be lucrative based on their PPV trends. However, it is unclear if potentially two Arthur Ashe Stadium shows guarantee the same success.

“I’d Have Done The Same Thing” – Cody Rhodes Has No Heat With Triple H Over Throne Destruction

WWE superstar Cody Rhodes has officially called his shot for a rematch against WWE Champion Roman Reigns at the ‘The Grandest Stage Of The All.’ After a grueling year, Rhodes won the Men’s Royal Rumble on January 27 to headline WWE WrestleMania 40 for the second time.

Wrestling fans have jokingly believed Rhodes’s hardship in 2023 could have been because he smashed a throne in All Elite Wrestling to mock Triple H in 2019. However, the WWE Hall of Famer has revealed that it entertained him.

On February 21, Triple H appeared on the Allan and Carly Podcast to share his thoughts on Rhodes smashing a throne in AEW. Contrary to fans’ belief, he admitted that he was fine with it happening.

SEScoops’ Anutosh Bajpai transcribed the following quotes.

“I laughed about it then. You know, people make that stuff out to be so much more than it is to me. If I was in his shoes, I’d have done the same thing,” said Triple H.

The former WWE Champion then pivoted to discussing his relationship with Rhodes and his father.

“…I watched Cody go from being a kid in this business, and I don’t mean that as disrespectful. He’s just literally a kid. His dad was in some way a mentor to me. We started NXT together. He was a big part of that system. I learned a lot from Dusty. Sort of sitting under his learning tree as well,” said Triple H. He continued, “We had a wonderful partnership. To see him grow from literally this kid to coming in trying to find his way in the buisness and come out of his dad’s shadow which was monumental.”

Triple H On Cody Rhodes’s Journey Outside Of WWE

On the podcast, Triple H spoke briefly about Rhodes’s journey outside the company. The former WWE superstar spoke highly of ‘The American Nightmare’ choice to gamble on himself and become a superstar on his own.

“… It wasn’t about where he went, it was about the journey. It was about him going and finding himself and proving to himself that he could stand outside of his father’s shadow. It wasn’t this machine trying to make him his dad’s kid or anything else. It was finding himself. And he did that to the point where he was, and he says this thing, to where he was undeniable,” said Triple H.

Rhodes has the opportunity at WWE WrestleMania 40 to make his journey full circle and win the WWE Championship. He has a tough task ahead of him with Reigns aligning himself with The Rock. However, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has offered to help Rhodes and fans will have to see if he’ll accept it, potentially at WWE Elimination Chamber on February 24

Booker T Wants To See More Of Jade Cargill, Pitches Her For WrestleMania 40

WWE fans are waiting in anticipation for Jade Cargill’s next match for the company. She made her in-ring debut in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match on January 27, where she impressed many with her performance. Although she didn’t win, it had fans buzzing about her future in the company. However, WWE is taking it slow in showcasing her more in-ring.

Since the WWE Royal Rumble, the newly signed WWE superstar has appeared on WWE Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown. Cargill’s current storyline is that she is trying to decide what brand she wants to sign with.

On the February 16 episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown, Cagill seemingly hinted at not wanting to sign with the brand and looked annoyed by the lack of attention.

Although the company features her on TV, Booker T has spoken openly about wanting to see her in the ring soon. On his podcast Hall of Fame, the WWE legend was asked by a fan what brand he believes Cargill will sign with and if she could have her singles debut at WWE WrestleMania 40 in April.

Booker T responded that he wanted to see her in the ring more and wouldn’t mind WWE using her like All Elite Wrestling did.

“…I don’t care if they did the same thing they did with her over in AEW. Just put her in there and beat up some people. You know what I mean? Squash a few girls,” said Booker T.

Booker T On Jade Cargill Training & Potential Match At WrestleMania 40

While Cargill’s in-ring career has been put on hold, Booker T acknowledges that she is actively training at the WWE Performance Center. Cargill showed the results of her work in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match and believes the company knows what they have with her.

“I’m sure she is down in the PC training on a regular basis, and that might be even better for her. You know, you never know. Just because the last time we saw Jade Cargill, she looked pretty damn good in the ring,” said Booker T. He explained, “She did not look like she was out of place at all, and I think that comes from just that little bit of training. Trying to learn that intricate detail, as far as why you are in the ring.”

Regarding her making her singles debut at WWE WrestleMania 40, Booker T thinks it could help with her appeal.

“…It may not be a bad thing her having a match at Mania, then going out there and shocking the world man! Letting the people see what Jade Cargill is all about. I’m not opposed to that,” said the WWE Hall of Famer.

A featured singles match at WWE WrestleMania 40 could be a great way to showcase Cargill’s skills on a big stage. However, the company is trying to ensure she is prepared to be a regular roster member. Booker T and fans will have to wait and see what the company has in store for her.

Josh Alexander Reportedly Asked TNA Not to extend His Contract

Josh Alexander had fans curious on February 19 when he teased an announcement on Twitter. He posted an emoji of an hourglass as fans speculated if he would be leaving TNA. However, TNA revealed on February 20 that the company decided to extend his contract for another year.

TNA initially announced that Alexander had re-signed. However, they posted an updated graphic of the former TNA World Champion on Twitter, stating that his contract got extended.

Fightful Select reported that Alexander’s contract actually expired on February 14. He wanted to explore free agency, but TNA picked up a company option to extend his deal another year. The report also shares that Alexander’s contract expires on February 15, 2025.

It was also noted that despite rumors, Alexander didn’t request to be let go by the company.

SEScoops’ Anutosh Bajpai transcribed the following quotes.

“…Alexander had requested that TNA not pick up his option. He was open to negotiating a new deal, but he wanted to survey the landscape if possible,” said the report. It added,  “However, TNA did exercise the option, and there are no concerns from the company about Alexander meeting his contractual obligations and working hard while he’s there.”

The decision to extend Alexander’s contract is controversial, as he disapproved of it. While other companies have extended talent deals because of injury, it wasn’t the case with Alexander. Although he was inactive for a few months in 2023, the report shared he was still working as a TNA Backstage Producer.

Growing Frustration In TNA?

TNA is off to a rocky start to the year after Anthem Sports & Entertainment decided to fire former TNA President Scott D’Amore on February 7. The move was surprising after the company had a successful pay-per-view event the previous month and was in the middle of rebranding the company.

Fightful Select reported that several members of the TNA roster were upset with the decision and had also written a protest letter to Anthem. However, it doesn’t seem like D’Amore will be returned to the company soon.

The news of Alexander’s contract getting extended and D’Amore’s exit could lead to more internal frustration within the company. Although talent hasn’t been open about their concerns, the hourglass post from several of TNA’s top stars is not a great sign.

Drew McIntyre Defends Getting Help From The Bloodline Ahead Of Elimination Chamber

‘The Scottish Warrior’ faces backlash ahead of his important match at WWE Elimination Chamber on February 24. For months, Drew McIntyre has taken the standpoint that he hates the Bloodline(Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa) in his storyline.

He has spoken openly about how they have cost him opportunities and will never forgive them. However, on the February 19 episode of Monday Night Raw, fans pointed out that McIntyre seemed fine when Uso and Sikoa helped him defeat Cody Rhodes. ‘The American Nightmare’ was on the verge of landing the Cross Rhodes on McIntyre until Sikoa hit Rhodes with the Samoan Spike. Uso also made sure to distract the referee so that the official wouldn’t notice

The illegal assault allowed ‘The Scottish Warrior’ to get the win over Rhodes and build momentum towards the WWE Elimination Chamber this weekend. McIntyre will enter the Men’s Elimination Chamber match, with a win earning him a title match against Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WWE WrestleMania 40 in April.

WWE Commentator Michael Cole and fans have called out McIntyre for taking the Bloodline’s help and called him a hypocrite. Ahead of the upcoming premium live event, the former WWE Champion has decided on TikTok to give his response to the criticism.

WWE shared McIntyre’s response on Twitter. In the video, the WWE superstar shared that he arrived in Perth, Australia, for WWE Elimination Chamber quickly after the February 19 episode. He also called out Cole and Pat McAfee in character for their comments on the show.

“…I’m not a hypocrite. Don’t be pushing a false narrative to the masses when you have such power to influence. Come to the source and understand the big picture,” said McIntyre.

Drew McIntyre Explains His Thoughts On Bloodline Helping Him

Although it seems clear that McIntyre was fine accepting Uso and Sikoa’s interference in his match, he decided to give his perspective. The former WWE Champion also sent a warning to Sikoa that he would attack him when the time was right.

“…Watch Monday back. Look in my eyes. What do you see? You clearly see I wanted to attack Solo, and when the time is right, I will, but I’ve grown as a person, a competitor, a leader. I can’t be selfish. I have to do what is right for the fans and the future of the world title,” said McIntyre.

He explained that defeating Rhodes on the February 19 episode was important and a confidence boost heading into WWE Elimination Chamber. It was ‘The American Nightmares’ second loss since his return to WWE in 2022.

The February 19 episode of Monday Night Raw gave McIntyre a small character change, showing that he will do what is necessary to become a champion, including working with the Bloodline.

7-Figure Tax Credit From US City Hints At Location for WWE SummerSlam 2024

WWE is currently on the ‘Road to WrestleMania’ as the company prepares for its biggest event of the year. That said, fans have also been interested in when the company will announce where WWE SummerSlam will be located.

The annual Summer event is expected to occur this August, but WWE has yet to provide more information. However, Cleveland, Ohio, has been rumored to be the host of ‘The Biggest Party of the Summer.’

Cleveland Scene’s Vince Grzegorek reports that WWE was awarded a $1.6 million tax credit from the Ohio Department of Development last week. While the company has yet to confirm, this hints towards Cleveland, Ohio, being this year’s WWE SummerSlam location.

“…WWE was awarded $1.6 million in credits for an unspecified TV series, but with rumors continuing to build since last year that Cleveland would be the home for WWE’s second-biggest pay-per-view event, it seems more than plausible that the credit is for SummerSlam,” said the report.

WWE has held events at stadiums for WWE SummerSlam for the last three years. If the company continues the trend, the event will likely occur either at the Cleveland Browns Stadium or Progressive Field.

The company has tickets on sale for two events in August, including WWE Bash In Berlin at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany, on August 31. WWE SummerSlam will likely occur within the first two weeks of the month. ‘The Biggest Party of the Summer, ‘ which takes place earlier in August, would allow the company to build towards their first premium live event in Germany.

Current Ticket Status For WWE Elimination Chamber

On February 24, WWE will head to Perth, Australia, for the WWE Elimination Chamber. The event will occur at the Optus Stadium and looks far from sold out.

WrestleTix reported on February 19 that 46,242 tickets had been sold and had 2,867 left available. While impressive, Optus Stadium could have a capacity of 60,000. It’s worth noting that the structure of the elimination chamber could have resulted in fewer seats being available. However, the event tickets have not sold quickly and successfully as other events like WWE WrestleMania 40 or even WWE Royal Rumble.

This weekend’s event won’t shatter attendance records the Optus Stadium has had previously, but it is still great. An announcement for WWE SummerSlam in Cleveland, Ohio, could continue WWE’s hot streak of impressive turnouts for their 2024 live event schedule.

Kofi Kingston Has An Amazing Outlook On His Infamous Loss To Brock Lesnar (Exclusive)

It has been over four years since WWE made one of the most questionable booking decisions that angered fans. On the October 4, 2019, episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown, Kofi Kingston put the WWE Championship on the line against Brock Lesnar. Although it was expected that Lesnar would win, WWE made the decision to have ‘The Beast’ defeat Kingston in seven seconds.

Wrestling fans and his peers have felt that WWE did a disservice to Kingston, who is beloved and held the title for over five months. He was never given a rematch and has only had one opportunity in singles action against Bobby Lashley in 2021 to reclaim it.

To this day, fans are upset with how WWE handled Kingston’s match with Lesnar, and the longtime company ‘Babyface’ agrees.

In an interview with SEScoops’ MuscleManMacolm, Kingston spoke about his infamous title match with Lesnar and believes it should’ve gone longer than it did.

“…There’s two lines of thought on it. One, I don’t get paid by the hour, so that is probably the most amount of money that I’ve made in the least amount of time on the roster.

But obviously, when you have a WWE Championship match, especially with what it meant to win that title, I would’ve loved for it to have last longer and I would’ve loved to beat Brock Lesnar, but of course, I came up short,” said Kingston.

Although Kingston hasn’t gotten more opportunities to reclaim the WWE Championship, he’s looking to move forward with his career.

Kofi Kingston On Letting Go Of Brock Lesnar Title Match

In the interview, Kingston stayed true to believing in the “Power of Positivity” and isn’t focused on dwelling on what happened in the Fall of 2019.

“…It’s always forward in this industry and that’s the route of chosen to take,” said Kingston.

Kingston may not be in the hunt for the WWE Championship, but he has reunited with Xavier Woods in the tag division. The New Day(Kingston & Woods) is feuding against Imperium(Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci). The company recently announced on Twitter that the two teams will settle their difference in a Street Fight Tag Team Match on the February 26 WWE Monday Night Raw episode.

A win for New Day could build momentum for them to challenge for the WWE Raw and Smackdown Tag Team Championship. At 42 years old, Kingston is still a featured talent on the WWE roster and doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.

Kenny Omega On How Wrestling Can Draw New Fans, Similarities to Gaming

All Elite Wrestling superstar Kenny Omega wants to bring more non-wrestling fans into the profession. He has been involved in the wrestling business for over 20 years, allowing him to understand how to build a fanbase. The former AEW World Champion believes that giving your program time and care is one of the key factors in bringing in a new audience to your company.

In an interview with Gamespot’s Dave Jewitt, Omega shared his thoughts on the video game Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth and how it can relate to wrestling. He believes wrestling shouldn’t be afraid to be creative and have fun like the video game. Omega’s philosophy is that wrestling fans will appreciate it and can bring a new audience to the profession.

“As a wrestler in 2024, you always think of new ways. How are we going to bring new fans in? How can we get a new fanbase,” said Omega.

The former AEW World Champion explained that he believes wrestling should try to appeal to different people, whether it be age or culture.

“…We want anyone to appreciate what we do as an art form, as a form of entertainment. Much like the Like A Dragon universe, it can be whatever you want it to be as long as you give it a proper introduction, explain it, and have fun with it,” said Omega.

He added, “…That’s sort of my take on wrestling and clearly that sort of like the take on this game where if you put time and care into everything that you do, you’ll get the appreciation back. People will have fun with it.”

Update On Kenny Omega

Omega is currently out of action as he looks to recover from diverticulitis. He had initially thought that it was a hernia until he went to the hospital on December 15, 2023. The AEW superstar revealed on Twitter after his diagnosis that he would be out of action for an indefinite amount of time.

AEW President Tony Khan shared in a recent interview with Sports Grid that Omega is doing better than before. However, he is still far from making a return and hopes he makes a full recovery.

It’s expected Omega will take his time to heal before he steps back into a ring. Although it’s unfortunate that ‘The Best Bout Machine’ could be out for most of the year, it should be encouraging that he looks in good shape and spirits during his interview.

Hiroshi Tanahashi Acknowledges NJPW’s Need For New Stars After Recent Departures

New Japan Pro Wrestling is currently undergoing massive changes to start the year. The company has seen featured stars on their roster leave for All Elite Wrestling in the past year. Recently, NJPW could not re-sign fan favorites Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay, and Mercedes Monè. In the wake of talent leaving, fans have questioned who can fill the void left.

NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi knows the company’s condition and aims to create new stars. In an interview with Inside The Ropes’ Liam Wyatt, Tanahashi spoke openly about NJPW needing star power and its importance in the wrestling business.

New Japan Pro Wrestling President Hiroshi Tanahashi at a press conference

Inside The Ropes‘ Alex Hunt transcribed the following quote.

“This is a star-driven business, and we need to make new stars. That goes beyond success in the ring as well- mainstream awareness and name value is the key to success. I want more of our wrestlers becoming household names,” said Tanahashi

In the past year, NJPW has tried to feature some of the talent the company views highly. Shota Umino, Ren Narita, and Yota Tsuji were named the Reiwa Three Musketeers. This is an honor to recognize talent they believe will lead the company for this generation. However, NJPW has made questionable decisions, like not having Okada or Ospreay take a loss against any of the younger talent.

The most notable decision was not to have Umino defeat Ospreay to win the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Power Struggle on November 4, 2023. Ospreay would sign with AEW a few weeks later at AEW Full Gear

Although the company has a star power issue, talent leaving puts NJPW in a position to be motivated to focus on its future.

What’s The Next Big Events In NJPW?

NJPW has a chance to showcase their roster on the next big event, NJPW The New Beginning In Sapporo, on February 23 and 24. The two-day show will have Okada compete in his final matches in NJPW and represent a new start for the company.

One of NJPW’s younger stars, Umino, will be in a featured match against NEVER Openweight Champion EVIL for the title. The ‘Roughneck’ will attempt to win his first championship with the company and potentially end his rivalry with the NJPW veteran.

The upcoming two-day event presents Tanahashi with an opportunity to start creating new stars that can lead the way in a new era for NJPW.

WWE trademark name for Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate Tag Team

The newly formed tag team of Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate is on the rise in WWE. Dunne and Bate joined forces on the main roster last month and quickly became tag team title contenders. Ahead of their championship opportunity at WWE Elimination Chamber on February 24, WWE has filed a trademark for their official tag team name.

Dunne and Bate will go by the tag team name New Catch Republic moving forward. The trademark for the same was registered on February 18,

Bate initially revealed the name on the February 16 episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown. In a backstage interview with Kayla Braxton, Dunne and Bate spoke about their match against The Judgement Day (Finn Balor & Damian Priest) for the WWE Raw and Smackdown Tag Team Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber. After the ‘Bruiserweight’ shared the team’s goal of winning the titles, Bate introduced the New Catch Republic, to which Dunne nodded his approval.

Afterward, Dominick Mysterio interrupted their interview to set up a tag team match alongside JD McDonagh against the New Catch Republic. The match will occur on a taped WWE Friday Night Smackdown episode on February 23. WWE’s decision to have the match is a way to build momentum for the newly formed tag team ahead of their bout against Balor and Priest.

More On The Judgement Day vs. New Catch Republic At WWE Elimination Chamber

The upcoming premium live event presents an excellent opportunity for the New Catch Republic to showcase their skills against the tag team champions. Since becoming a team, Dunne and Bate have impressed WWE fans and added a new level of interest in the tag division.

That said, Balor and Priest are seemingly the favorites to retain their titles at WWE Elimination Chamber. Although the tag titles are set to be defended this Saturday, the company seems to already be teasing R-Truth and The Miz as possible future challengers for Balor and Priest.

The Judgement Day has held the tag championship since the October 16 WWE Monday Night Raw episode last year. Since then, they have only defended their belts four times but have looked dominant everytime they have put the titles on the line.

The new Catch Republic vs. The Judgement Day still has the potential to be one of the best matches at the upcoming premium live event. While they may not win, an excellent showing for Dunne and Bate could garner more fan attention and make WWE consider featuring them more on TV.

WWE & UFC Inks Deal With Honda Center Through 2028

The merger between WWE and UFC to launch TKO Group Holding is doing great for both as they continue to secure lucrative business deals. One example was bundling ticket sales for the February 19 WWE Monday Night Raw episode and UFC 298 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. This resulted in great ticket sales and seemingly a new deal for both with the venue.

Sport’s Business Journal’s Adam Stern reports that WWE and UFC have inked new deals with the Honda Center for at least three events annually through 2028. The report also notes that the new agreement allows both companies to use the developing OCVibe for potential watch parties.

OCVibe Bill Foltz commented on the new deal, and SBJ’s Stern transcribed the following quotes.

When speaking on the future of WWE and UFC hosting at the Honda Center, Foltz said that the events from both companies “…will only become more powerful as we reimagine the downtown experience for Orange County at OCVibe, creating a magnetic destination for entertainment, sports, and culture.”

The success of WWE and UFC collaborating in hosting events at the Honda Center shows the strength of the merger and raises questions about what deals would be made next.

WWE & UFC Current Deals

WWE recently secured their TV rights deals, including a groundbreaking deal with Netflix for WWE Monday Night Raw. This was the company’s last move as they secured a new home for WWE Friday Night Smackdown and NXT in 2023.

It’s estimated the TV rights for WWE Monday Night Raw, NXT, and Friday Night Smackdown equals an amount of over $6 billion. WWE also made a deal with Twitter to produce a new show called WWE Speed, which will start in the Spring.

UFC has yet to reach a new deal with ESPN, and the contract expires in 2025. However, UFC is expected to remain on the network and get a new lucrative agreement.

After reaching a deal with Honda Center, TKO Group Holding will likely continue to find other venues looking to secure deals for both WWE and UFC.

Damian Priest Has A Good Reason For Not Cashing In His MITB Contract Yet

The clock is ticking for Damian Priest to use his Money In The Bank opportunity. He won the briefcase last year and has teased cashing in on WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins several times but has been unsuccessful. However, with ‘The Visionary’ dealing with a torn MCL and meniscus, fans question why ‘Señor Money In The Bank’ hasn’t tried to take the title from him again.

Rollins suffered his injury in his title defense against Jinder Mahal on the January 15 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw. Despite the setback, he is expected to compete at WWE WrestleMania 40 this April and is still appearing on TV. However, the injury has confused wrestling fans as to why Priest hasn’t taken advantage of Rollins’s vulnerability.

In an interview with The West Australian’s Craig O’Donoghue, Priest finally gave fans a reason for why he hasn’t cashed in on the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. When asked why he hasn’t challenged Rollins since the injury, he explained that it’s because ‘The Visionary’ isn’t medically cleared.

“…I’m based on Raw, and being that Seth Rollins is the champion, unfortunately, he’s not medically cleared, so I can’t cash in right now because, officially, he can’t be in a match,” said Priest.

Priest’s explanation is interesting, as past champions have been cashed in on when they weren’t in storyline ready to compete. However, Rollins’s injury could add an unprecedented rule for future Money In The Bank winners to not challenge champions who aren’t medically cleared to compete.

When Will Damian Priest Cash In His Money In The Bank Opportunity?

Priest seems convinced he will cash in on Rollins when the opportunity presents itself. In the interview, ‘Señor Money In The Bank’ shared that he could go after WWE Champion Roman Reigns if Priest was on the Friday Night Smackdown roster. However, he is running out of time to challenge for a title.

At WWE Money In The Bank on July 6, Priest would lose his rights to use his contract. The opportunity would go to the 2024 Money In the Bank winner, which would be determined at the event. If Rollins can’t compete until WWE WrestleMania 40, it would mean that Priest would have to wait potentially another two months.

A potential cash-in against Rollins at WWE WrestleMania 40, in storyline, could also be interesting as the champion has famously done it himself. Regardless, Priest is confident he’ll become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion in 2024.

Jade Cargill Excited in WWE: We’re All Here For Dream Matches and to Make Money

WWE fans are still buzzing after Jade Cargill finally made her in-ring debut. She competed in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match on January 27 and stood against some of the best females on the WWE roster.

While she didn’t win the match, WWE showcased her abilities and teased future potential matchups. It’s unclear when her next appearance will be, but Cargill is very excited about what will come next.

In an interview with  Denise Salcedo, Cargill was asked what the environment is for her behind the scenes and dealing with other talent like Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch. The WWE superstar shared that her peers have treated her well and that everyone wants to put on dream matches.

“…Everybody’s been very warm. Everybody understands that one, we are all going to create money-making matches here. We’re here to put butts in seats and sell tickets and make money. That’s what we are here for,” said Cargill.

After talking about the backstage environment, Cargill began listing several names she’s looking to have dream matches against.

“…All these women that you just named are literally are dream matches. Everybody would love to see me take on a Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch because you never know what the outcome will be,” said Cargill.

She added that she is confident that she’ll be victorious against them all but that it could still be unpredictable.

What’s Next For Jade Cargill?

Currently, Cargill is still figuring out what brand she wants to sign within the WWE storyline. She has been approached by Adam Pierce and Nick Aldis about signing to their respective brand.

In the WWE Women’s Royal Rumble Match, she threw out members from both the WWE Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown roster. One of the notable eliminations was Nia Jax, who she single-handedly tossed over the ropes. This is something that the company could follow up on for a potential dream match.

It’s unclear what brand will sign Cargill. For now, she is excited for the opportunities that will come her way in WWE.

WWE Star Maryse Reveals Heath Battle & Upcoming Surgery, Shares Important Advice For Women

Former WWE superstar Maryse is staying positive and looking to overcome her recent condition. The former two-time WWE Divas Champion gave fans a health update on social media, revealing that she has been diagnosed with pre-cancer of the ovaries.

On Instagram, Maryse thanked her OB-GYN, Dr. Thai?s Aliabadi, for her help in catching her diagnosis early and saving her life. She also explained that she has been dealing with several issues, including abdominal distention and extreme fatigue, for the past year.

Although she had seen several doctors, Maryse said no one could tell her the problem. While others told her it would go away by itself, she decided to see Dr. Aliabadi for help.

“…From the start, when I met Thais at her office in LA, she listened to my story, truly listened,” wrote Maryse.

Instead of being dismissive, Maryse shared that Dr. Aliabadi pushed to get to the bottom of the issue, and last week, the former WWE Divas Champion had Laparoscopy surgery for what they thought was for Endometriosis disease. After removing 11 implants around her uterus, ovaries, and other connective tissue, the testing showed that she didn’t have it. However, the implants returned days later.

“…All 11 implants came back as Serous Borderline Tumors. A very rare pre-cancer of the ovaries. Very sneaky and aggressive. If those became cancer, the survival rate is less than a year,” wrote Maryse.

Thankfully, Dr. Aliabadi was able to find the cause of Maryse’s health issues, but the former WWE superstar shared that the fight against cancer isn’t over yet.

Maryse On Upcoming Surgery & Message To Fans

Maryse will have hysterectomy surgery in four weeks. Despite her current condition, she stays strong for herself and her family.

She wrote on Instagram  that she will have her “…Uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, omentum will be removed and will get abdominal lymph nodes removed for staging.”

Although Maryse is looking ahead to her surgery, she also took the opportunity to highlight the healthcare issues that women deal with to her fans. The former WWE superstar used her experience as an example of how women’s problems are sometimes dismissed and could lead to bigger ramifications.

“…Women get so conditioned to believe that it is normal to suffer, most often in silence. Told to stop being a crybaby. That it must be hormonal imbalances, just anxiety, or just all in your head. This is not normal. This cycle has to be broken,” wrote Maryse.

She added that she advocates for other women to continue to find help even if a doctor dismisses them.

We at SEScoops wish Maryse well and hope she makes a full recovery.

AEW May Be Running Another Stadium Show This Year

All Elite Wrestling has been ambitious in the past few years, expanding their business and running larger venues. AEW added two stadium shows in 2023, notably the successful AEW All In event at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Currently, the company has tickets on sale for this year’s AEW All In event and is expected to hold the AEW Grand Slam at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.

However, a new report shares they are expected to add another stadium show to their 2024 schedule.

On the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast, Andrew Zarian answered a fan question on whether AEW would run a stadium show in the United States. He noted that AEW has AEW Grand Slam, held yearly since 2021 at Arthur Ashe Stadium. He also confirmed that he believes they will run another stadium show in the U.S. sometime this year.

It’s important to note that while Zarian believes AEW will have a third stadium this year, the company has yet to make an official announcement. That said, AEW may look for another stadium show in the United States as they continue to expand their business. The report does raise questions on whether it is the right time for the company to run a second stadium show with inconsistent ticket sales success.

AEW Live Event Ticket Sale Concerns

AEW weekly live event episodes of AEW Dynamite and Collision haven’t done consistently well in attendance. WrestleTix shared on Twitter that the February 7 episode of AEW Dynamite at the Footprint Center in Phonix, Arizona, had a setup for a 5,285 seating capacity. However, it’s well below the seating capacity the venue can hold, which could be over 12,000.

Although the company may be inconsistent in selling out or reaching capacity weekly, their more significant events have proven to do well. The upcoming pay-per-view event, AEW Revolution, on March 3 at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex in Greensboro, North Carolina, is expected to be a sold-out show. On February 8, WrestleTix reported on Twitter that the company had sold over 15,651 tickets with a setup of 16,207.

It’s unclear what success AEW could have at this time doing a second stadium event in the U.S. However, they are taking chances and hoping to give their fans a great year of wrestling.

Inaugural Champions will be crowned at Thursday’s Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling Relaunch Event

Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling is set to relaunch this Thursday. The promotion founded by the late Dusty Rhodes returns after 20 years for its relaunch event from the Nightmare Factory in McDonough, Georgia.

While the card is still being determined, TCW has announced two matches to crown their new champions.

The first title match was announced on February 1 by TCW on Twitter. The promotion shared that Angelica Risk will take on Hyena Hera for the inaugural Nightmare Factory Women’s Championship. Both wrestlers have a history with each other and trained at The Nightmare Factory.

Angelica Risk vs. Hyena Hera

The last time they faced each other in singles action, Hera defeated Risk at WrestleMerica The Reckoning on August 13, 2022. Although Hera won, time has passed, and both will have something to prove in their matchup for the title.

After announcing their first title match, the Georgia-based promotion shared on February 4 on Twitter that the Nightmare Faction Championship will also be decided. All Elite Wrestling talent Aaron Solo will face Adrian Ward for the inaugural title at Thursday’s event.

Solo wants to start the year well and make history as the first Nightmare Faction Champion. He had difficulty last year by being on the losing side in most matches in AEW. However, he has a chance to remind fans of his ability in the ring and potentially build momentum in his career for 2024. He faces Ward, who will also be motivated to win gold and a notable win over the AEW star.

Both matches will likely be featured in the event, but the company has announced another interesting match.

QT Marshall Involved In Eight-Man Tag Team Match At TCW Relaunch Event

Longtime wrestling could be in for a treat after TCW announced their latest match added to the card. The promotion recently revealed on Twitter that an eight-man tag team will be on the show, featuring a mix of independent wrestling talent and WCW legends.

Eight Man Tag Team Match

In eight-man tag action, QT Marshall will team with Glacier, Scotty Riggs, and Luther Riggs to face Sunny Daze, Owen Knight, Duncan Mitchell, and Adam Priest. Glacier, Riggs, and Biggs have competed in TCW in the past, so they are being billed as the TCW All-Stars. All three haven’t competed in a wrestling ring for some time, which could make for an interesting match for fans in attendance.

The promotion is seemingly still finalizing the card, but they have shared that Ricky Starks and Matt Cardona will appear. Fans looking to attend the relaunching of TCW may need to RSVP soon as the event card continues to take shape.

First Look at Muhammad Ali in WWE 2K24

2K has fans excited after their latest gameplay trailer of the upcoming WWE 2K24, which is set to be released on March 8. The newest installment of the series will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Steam. While 2K has shared that the game has 200 characters, it’s unclear who will be in the game. However, they have revealed that the boxing great Muhammad Ali will be playable in WWE 2K24.

In today’s gameplay trailer, Ali’s character model is shown wearing his classic white and black boxing attire at the end. While he passed away on June 3, 2016, Ali’s legacy continues to live on in pop culture and media. He is also featured in EA Sports UFC 5, released last year.

The timing of the reveal comes at an interesting time, as it was the anniversary of Ali’s famous win over Ernie Terrell by unanimous decision. It’s unclear if it was intentional, but the official WWE 2K24 Twitter Account reposted a picture of Ali and Terrell.

Possible Reason For Muhammad Ali’s Inclusion In WWE 2K24

Ali’s inclusion in the game has made fans curious if it’s due to his involvement in the first WWE WrestleMania on March 31, 1985. The boxing legend was famously the Special Guest Referee in the tag team match with Hulk Hogan, and Mr. T took on Paul Orndorff and Roddy Piper.

2K has announced that the game features a new showcase mode called ‘Forty Years Of WrestleMania,’ highlighting notable matches that have taken on the ‘Grandest Stage Of Them All.’ WWE 2K24 has also shared that the game will have new match types like Special Guest Referee, making it very possible to have the historic WWE WrestleMania tag team match.

The news of Ali being playable in WWE 2K24 has fans excited to see who else will be in the game. A 200-character roster and future downloadable content give plenty of options for creating fun dream matches.
