AEW Full Gear has garnered praise but not everyone walked out unscathed.

It’s been said that both Kingston and Black were banged up at Full Gear.

Eddie Kingston was expected to appear at the Big Event wrestling convention in Queens, NY.

Northeast Wrestling has announced that Kingston will no longer appear due to a shoulder injury. The promotion noted that Kingston was scheduled to undergo medical tests.

There is good news, however. Kingston took to his Twitter account to reveal that his medical tests have come back negative.

  • Tony Khan Compares CM Punk Getting Booed To Rock vs Hogan At WM18

Tony Khan Compares CM Punk Getting Booed To Rock vs Hogan At WM18

CM Punk defeated Eddie Kingston at AEW Full Gear on Saturday night. While there were many in the crowd chanting for CM Punk, there were arguably more of them cheering for Eddie Kingston. There were noticeable boos in the arena at times that Punk would be on offense.

During the post-event media scrum from Full Gear, Khan compared CM Punk getting booed at Full Gear to the Rock getting booed at WrestleMania 18 in Toronto. Khan attended WM18 live and noted that he was one of the only people in the crowd that night cheering for the Rock.

“I remember being the only person out of 70,000 cheering for The Rock in Toronto,” Khan said. “My friend looked over me like, ‘what are you doing?’ And I was like, ‘somebody has to.’ And that’s how I felt about Punk getting booed tonight (vs. Kingston). There were way, way, way more Punk people tonight than there were Rock people in Toronto, though. I can attest as I was there for both shows.”

Is AEW Planning Shows in Canada?

Khan also noted during the scrum that he is hoping to run AEW shows in Canada. He noted that he is biased towards Toronto, however, as his father owns a hotel there.

“I would love to come to Canada,” Khan responded. “There are a number of great wrestling cities all across Canada. It’s a great country for wrestling. I have so much respect for so many Canadian wrestlers from different cities. I’m very biased towards Toronto because my father owns a Four Seasons Hotel there.”

2 out of the 4 AEW World Champions have been Canadian. AEW is also planning to honor legendary Canadian wrestler, Owen Hart, with the Owen Hart Cup. Details as to the format of the tournament and where the finals might be held have not been announced yet, however.

  • Tony Khan Says He Knew Who AEW’s First 4 World Champions Would Be From The Beginning

Tony Khan Says He Knew Who AEW’s First 4 World Champions Would Be From The Beginning

In the build-up to AEW Full Gear, Tony Khan did a lot of media and spoke about his approach to long-term booking. At the recent media-scrum following Saturday’s PPV, Khan noted that he knew who AEW’s first 4 world champions would be. The idea of Hangman beating Omega for the title is something that had planned since even before Jericho beat Page to become the inaugural title holder.

Speaking at the Full Gear post-event media scrum, Khan had the following to say:

“Chris Jericho and then Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page. No, honestly, and if you look back, they all set up,” Khan said of his first 4 planned world champions. “Chris wrestled Kenny and then it built to Kenny coming back later to wrestle for the title, teaming with Hangman. Hangman also wrestled Chris. Then it built to Chris and Jon. Jon won the title and while that was happening, Kenny and Hangman had their partnership, their story, and Jon made all those great defences through the pandemic and was such a great pandemic champion.”

“Last year, Kenny and Hangman had that great match in the Eliminator final and then we came full circle to this and I think it all made sense.”

Bryan Danielson Beating Miro May Have Caused Some To Doubt If Page Would Win The Title.

Khan also noted that Bryan Danielson winning the World Title Eliminator tournament may have put some doubt in people’s minds about if Hangman was going to win the belt. Danielson’s win seemingly would set up a rematch with Omega, after their time-limit draw at Dynamite Grand Slam.

“People clearly wanted to see Hangman be crowned, but when Bryan Danielson won the Eliminator Tournament, you had to ask yourself, ‘Are Kenny and Bryan Danielson going to wrestle again?’” Khan continued.

Danielson’s win against Miro now sets up Danielson vs Page for Hangman’s first title defense.

“These things are all pretty well thought out in advance. The first four I would have told you all in advance would be Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, and Hangman Page.”

In a previous interview, Khan noted that while he tries to plan things out in advance, unexpected injuries, fan reactions, and more can cause him to deviate from his plan. He noted that 2 out of 3 times he draws something up, it goes as he wanted it to. 1 out of 3 times, he’s forced to do something different instead.

  • Kenny Omega Details Injured Shoulder and Wrestling With Vertigo

Kenny Omega Details Injured Shoulder and Wrestling With Vertigo

Kenny Omega has been wrestling a hectic schedule for the last year. He’s been defending world titles in multiple promotions and has been doing so while injured. In a recent video with chiropractor Dr. Beau Hightower, Omega spoke about dealing with vertigo and having to learn to wrestle in a ring that seems like it’s spinning.

“Yeah, it’s been an issue since 2018. I just get really bad vertigo. I get dizzy in the ring. I can’t — the room spins. It’s been a new skill I’ve had to inherit is wrestling in a spinning ring,” Omega said. “So to make sure I get that straightened out as much as I can, as often as I can is really paramount for my performances.”

Omega is also dealing with a shoulder injury at the moment. It was noted on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that Omega is unable to workout with weights due to the injury. Omega spoke about the difficulty of his shoulder injury during his interview with Hightower.

“One thing that I can say is I have a lot of difficulty just doing a straight side [arm] raise because of my shoulder injury. I would have to really sort of deviate to [a diagonal raise] to do anything. So to be able to go perfectly sideways is great.”

Omega dropped the title to Hangman Page at AEW Full Gear on Saturday night. This could perhaps lead to him taking time off to heal his shoulder.

  • Jay Lethal Names Dream Opponent In AEW

Jay Lethal Names Dream Opponent In AEW

Jay Lethal has officially joined All Elite Wrestling. The former ROH Champion has commented on his dream opponent in AEW.

Lethal had been a mainstay for ROH for a decade. Despite constant questions about a potential WWE run, Jay Lethal remained loyal to Ring of Honor.

The wrestling world was stunned by the news that ROH will be going dark in an attempt to undergo a “reconceptualizing” process. All ROH talent will be released and Lethal ended up being granted a request to have his release expedited.

Jay Lethal Wants To Wrestle Chris Jericho

    Chris Jericho

During the Full Gear PPV, Tony Schiavone brought out Lethal as the newest member of the AEW roster. Speaking with the media after the event, Jay revealed that Chris Jericho is his dream opponent.

“I have said in several interviews that I’ve ever had, they’ve asked me plenty of times, at least 7-8, ‘Who’s your dream opponent?’ And on the top of that list is Chris Jericho.

“I’ve been a fan of his growing up, of course, I’m only 36 so I watched him growing up on television. So, on the top of the list, he’d be my number one pick.

“But I would love it if I got to step into the ring with everybody and I know that may sound like I’m trying to escape the question, but I really can’t wait to step into the ring with every AEW superstar.”

For the immediate future, Lethal will have his sights set on TNT Champion Sammy Guevara. The TNT titleholder is a member of Jericho’s Inner Circle faction.

At Full Gear, Jay Lethal issued the challenge to Guevara. The TNT Champion made his way out to accept. The match will take place on the Nov. 17 episode of Dynamite.

  • CM Punk Reveals What’s Been Most Refreshing About AEW

CM Punk Reveals What’s Been Most Refreshing About AEW

Not much has surprised CM Punk about AEW but he does find one thing to be refreshing.

Punk had been away from the wrestling business for seven years before making his return back in August. Punk ended up choosing AEW as his new wrestling home.

Since getting back into the wrestling business, CM Punk has shared the ring with Darby Allin, Daniel Garcia, Powerhouse Hobbs, Matt Sydal, and most recently Eddie Kingston.

    CM Punk Talks AEW Run

Following his Full Gear victory over Kingston, Punk spoke to media members. When asked if anything has surprised him about AEW, the Chicago native had the following to say.

“Man, I don’t know if anything was a big surprise except just maybe how consistent we are. I have opinions just like the fans do. Not everybody’s gonna love me or what I do.

“I don’t necessarily have to like everything on the TV show but that’s the whole point. We’re not giving you one thing for two hours or three hours.

“We’re giving you a variety of different things and I think everybody who loves pro wrestling can find something that they love about the show.

“To me, that’s the most, I don’t even think it’s really surprising. It’s just a breath of fresh air.

“It’s different, it’s rad and it’s one of the reasons I was drawn to this place. It’s one of the reasons why I wanted to be here and it’s one of the reasons why I’m here.”

Time will tell what’s next for Punk. Many agree that the match with Kingston provided his most intriguing feud under the AEW banner yet despite a short build.

  • Bryan Danielson Details Monthly Checks With Neurologists And Brain Scans

Bryan Danielson Details Monthly Checks With Neurologists And Brain Scans

Bryan Danielson has amped things up since joining AEW and he has started taking more risks inside the ring. This increased physicality however has also sparked debate because of the issues the former world champion has faced in the past, even forcing him to take retirement from active completion for a while.

The AEW star provided some updates on his health and the precautions he takes during the post Full Gear media scrum. When he originally came out of retirement, Danielson had to do impact testing after every match. Though he has abandoned that routine now and started taking spect tests to monitor the oxygen blood flow to his brain, which shows that he is getting better:

“I don’t do the impact testing anymore, to be honest, I haven’t done an impact test in years and years. But I do regularly keep up with a neurologist who I see pretty much every month. There’s these new tests called SPECT scans which monitor the oxygen flow in your brain and all that kind of stuff. Because I keep working on it and keep doing different things, my SPECT scans keep getting better and better. I think last time he said that they were better than your average 25-year-old with no head trauma.”

Being A Father Is The Most Important Thing For Bryan Danielson

The wrestling veteran then explained that he is being very diligent with his health because he wants to be there for his children. Bryan Danielson said that his main goal is not to be the best wrestler but to be a good father to his son. He also mentioned his daughter saying that he wants to be there to help her when she needs:

“I’m trying to be very diligent because one of the things that’s most important to me is being a dad. I see the best doctors in the country and all of them have cleared me. My main goal is not to be the best wrestler — I’m a relatively old father, my son just turned a year and a half, when he turns 15, I’m going to be 54, 55. He’s going to want to take me down the way that I did when I was 15 with my dad. I’m going to sprawl on him and I’m going to crush his shoulder.

I want to be [able to] when my daughter asks me about chemistry and how H2O bonds with CO2, I want to be able to say it’s H2CO3. I want to be able to do all that and explain to her chemistry, and algebra, and calculus, and whatever it is she wants to do. That is my number one goal to do that and I think, if Tony thinks, I’m getting to a point where I won’t be able to do that, it’s going to be time to stop.”

Bryan Danielson won a hard-fought match against Miro during the Full Gear PPV. This was the final of the AEW world title tournament. The victory earns Bryan a future world title match against the new champion Hangman Page. Though there is no word yet on when this match will take place.

  • CM Punk Comments On John Cena Tribute During Full Gear

CM Punk Comments On John Cena Tribute During Full Gear

The ability to play the crowd is one of the things that has contributed to the success of CM Punk and this skill was on display again at Full Gear.

The former world champion managed to evoke a range of different emotions from the crowd through his performance. One moment, in particular, that got a lot of attention was when he mimicked some moves of John Cena.

Punk spoke about this tribute to his arch-rival and longtime friend in the post-show media scrum. He said that it’s fun for him to play the audience:

“I have one boss when I’m in the ring and I often like to say, ‘I have no boss when I’m in the ring,’ but the truth is it’s the people, and I listen to them. Sometimes I go with the flow and sometimes I take it places.

Regardless of the seven-year gap, I’ve been doing this for a minute.” said CM Punk, “To me, it’s fun just to fuck with people. That’s the whole juice for me. It’s getting different reactions and kind of getting to play with that.”

The straight edge star also discussed paying tribute to Eddie Guerrero on the 16th anniversary of his death and claimed that he never expected to get cheered or booed.

CM Punk faced Eddie Kingston in what many are calling his best match since his in-ring return during Full Gear PPV. He won this bout but there is no word on what’s next for him.

  • Update On Lance Archer Medical Condition

Update On Lance Archer Medical Condition

Lance Archer has been out of action since last month after a botched move. Now Tony Khan has provided some updates on his condition

The AEW owner commented on Archer’s health during the post Full Gear media scrum. He revealed that the heavyweight star has passed the impact and concussion tests successfully after his injury:

“Thankfully, he came out of it good. It was a neck injury, not a head injury. He cleared all the impact testing, concussion, all the stuff over the last several weeks. He twisted his neck, but he’s good,”

When asked when we may see the AEW star back in action, Khan said that he doesn’t know and exact date and he doesn’t want to rush things.

For those who don’t know, Lance Archer faced Eddie Kingston in the first round AEW world title eliminator tournament match during the October 23 edition of Dynamite.

The former NJPW star attempted a moonsault off the top rope during one spot. Though he couldn’t rotate enough and landed on his head.

The officials called an audible to end the match after this scary spot. Kingston ended up rolling his opponent for the win. It appeared that the heavyweight star was fine after he walked to the back by himself

Lance Archer also made a tweet about the botched spot claiming that things could have been worse but his absence from AEW since then had fans puzzled. We will have to see how long he has to stay out of action before returning to AEW TV.

  • People React To Hangman Page Winning The AEW World Title

People React To Hangman Page Winning The AEW World Title

Hangman Page finally realized his long-standing dream and became the new AEW world champion in the main event of the Full Gear PPV.

The main event saw Kenny Omega doing everything he can to retain his title, including pulling the referee in the line of fire to save himself from a buckshot lariat.

The Young Bucks then came out and it looked like they were going to interfere in the favor of the AEW champion. Though it didn’t happen.

Nick Jackson looked on as Page hit a lariat to the back of Omega’s head. Matt Jackson gave him a nod as Hangman went for another lariat, this time from the front.

Hangman Page went on to pin the cleaner and became the new world champion. The show ended with the new titleholder celebrating with the members of the Dark Order.

This concludes one of the longest-running storylines in AEW history that started with the very first AEW world championship match at All Out 2019.

Though this wasn’t the end of the night as Page took on the time to address the live crowd after the cameras went off air. The AEW star explained how he has been lying to himself about his achievements throughout his career:

“When I joined the bullet club, I thought I would never measure up. I thought I didn’t belong and I lied to myself. When AEW started, I told all of you I would be the first champion, I might have believed it a little bit. I lied to myself then too.” said Hangman Page, “And as time went along, the lies kept flowing. I said I shouldn’t try to hold on to my friendship with Kenny and the Bucks. That was a lie to myself.

  • Adam Page Wins AEW World Title At Full Gear

Adam Page Wins AEW World Title At Full Gear

At long last, fans got to see the match they’ve waited months to see – Adam Page challenging Kenny Omega for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.

This served as the main event of the Full Gear pay-per-view event. Omega hit a springboard sunset liger bomb and Page landed badly on his back/neck. Page with a blockbuster off the top rope. There was a referee bump when Page hit his clothesline finisher to him. Don Callis got involved but was taken out. Page with the deadeye for a near fall when a new referee came out. Page with the one-winged angel for a near fall. Page hit his clothesline finisher for the win.

Originally, AEW was planning this match for the All Out PPV event, but the decision was made for Omega to defend the title against Christian Cage at this event instead as Page took time off for the birth of his child.

Page made his return to AEW TV on an episode of Dynamite in October when he was revealed as the “joker” in the Casino Ladder Match. The bout also featured PAC, Andrade El Idolo, Jon Moxley, Lance Archer, Orange Cassidy, and Matt Hardy.

With Page winning the bout, he earned the title match. This was actually a rematch between them as Omega beat Page in last year’s Eliminator Tournament finals at Full Gear.

  • Jay Lethal Signs With AEW

    Jay Lethal Signs With AEW

Jay Lethal is officially All Elite. During Saturday’s AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event, Tony Schiavone introduced a special guest.

Lethal was introduced with a remixed version of Randy Savage’s theme song. He announced that he has signed with AEW and then he issued a challenge to TNT Champion Sammu Guevara for Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Guevara walked out and then accepted the challenge. Also set for this show includes The Butcher and The Blade vs. Tomohiro Ishii & Orange Cassidy, Nyla Rose vs. Hikaru Shida, and The Acclaimed vs. Dante Martin & Lio Rush.

Lethal had been with ROH for a number of years, but the company is going hiatus after the Final Battle pay-per-view in December. The company said that they “anticipate” a return in April.

Should they return to holding shows, it won’t be with the same crop of talent as they’ve released all contracted talent including Lethal.

Lethal made a name for himself in TNA Wrestling before going to ROH. While with TNA, he was a six-time X-Division and one-time Tag Team Champion. In ROH, he held the Pure, TV, and Tag Team Titles in addition to being a two-time World Champion.

  • Britt Baker Keeps AEW Women’s Title In Full Gear Defense

Britt Baker Keeps AEW Women’s Title In Full Gear Defense

Tay Conti was the latest wrestler in the women’s division to step up to challenge Britt Baker for the AEW Women’s Title.

It happened at Saturday’s (November 13, 2021) AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event in Minneapolis, MN at the Target Center. The match featured Baker dominating most of the match with Conti fighting back. Baker did hit an Air Raid Crash on the ring apron. Conti rolled her up for the win.

On the October 23rd edition of Dynamite, Baker confirmed the match in a promo where she stated that all Conti has done since coming to AEW is showing off her ass and when they met, she would beat it.

In late October on an episode of Rampage, Baker defeated Conti’s friend, Anna Jay,  in a non-title match. Post-match, Rebel and Jamie Hayter jumped Jay until Conti came out to make the save.

This wasn’t the first time that Conti challenged for the AEW Women’s Championship as she did so on the April 21st episode of Dynamite, but fell short to then-champion Hikaru Shida.

What are your thoughts on Baker retaining the Women’s Title? Was this the right call by AEW officials? Sound off in the comment section.

  • Bryan Danielson Wins AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament

Bryan Danielson Wins AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament

All Elite Wrestling held its Eliminator Tournament to determine who would be the next in line for the challenge for the World Heavyweight Title and it came to an end when Miro stepped into the ring with Bryan Danielson in the finals at the Full Gear pay-per-view event.

The match was truly back and forth to the point where the announcers said that neither wrestler could get an advantage. At one point, they followed each other up with their submission finishers. Miro deadlifted Bryan out of a heel hook for a german suplex. Bryan hit a DDT off the top rope then locked in the guillotine choke for the win.

There were 8 competitors in the tournament that included 10, Jon Moxley, Orange Cassidy, Powerhouse Hobbs, Dustin Rhodes, Bryan Danielson, Lance Archer, and Eddie Kingston.

The first round matches saw Moxley over 10, Cassidy beat Hobbs, Danielson defeat Rhodes, and Kingston over Archer.

The semi-finals featured Danielson over Kingston while Miro replaced Moxley, who decided to get help for alcohol abuse and checked into rehab to address his issues.

Many have rightfully supported Moxley in this decision despite the pressure he had on himself while being a top star for the promotion and taking himself out of a high position in the company for now to further help himself. Miro defeated Cassidy to advance in the tournament.

Kenny Omega defended the World Title against Adam Page in the main event of Full Gear. Ironically, Omega beat Page in last year’s tournament at Full Gear

  • Lucha Bros Retain Tag Team Titles At AEW Full Gear

Lucha Bros Retain Tag Team Titles At AEW Full Gear

FTR were the latest challengers to step up to take on AEW Tag Team Champions Lucha Bros.

This was the second match on the main card of the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event in Minneapolis, MN at the Target Center. The champions had the early advantage. Lucha Bros did a double submission spot at one point. Fenix hit a double cutter on FTR. Fenix walked the top rope to do a head kick spot. Wheeler hit Fenix with a title belt for a near fall when the referee wasn’t looking.

These two teams previously shared the ring on the October 16th episode of Dynamite when Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood won the AAA Tag Team Championship from the Lucha Bros while being dressed as luchadores.

The storyline was that Andrade El Idolo paid Pinnacle leader MJF for their services so they could take the titles away from Penta El Zero M and Rey Fenix. Thus, FTR dressed up as unknown luchadores.

The Lucha Bros beat The Young Bucks to win the Tag Team Titles this past September inside of a Steel Cage at the AEW All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago, IL at the NOW Arena.

  • Charlie Haas Gets In Great Shape, Challenges Chris Jericho

Charlie Haas Gets In Great Shape, Challenges Chris Jericho

Charlie Haas, who worked in WWE from 2000 to 2009, has come back with an amazing body transformation. He got in great shape and posted his new physique on social media. Interestingly enough, he also issued a challenge to AEW star Chris Jericho.

Haas called out Jericho in the caption of the post and used the hashtag “#JerichoFearsHaas” as well. He wrote, “It’s over when I say it’s over. To those that support me thank you, To the Haters, thank you. I love to prove you wrong. I’ve worked to hard. I’ve wrestled all over the world, I’ve wrestled the best that there is, in this era. I have never wrestled the GOAT. @Iamjericho. I want to see where I fall, or I may just want to see how Great I Am. @charliehaas @thehaaspod#JerichoFearsHaas.”

Back in December 2020, he got fans concerned as he lost a lot of weight and looked almost unrecognizable. Fans are now congratulating him online for making positive changes in his life and getting back into shape.

Charlie Haas is best known for his run in the WWE as part of a tag team with Shelton Benjamin in December 2002 on SmackDown. They won the WWE Tag Team Championship twice, and called themselves “The World’s Greatest Tag Team.” The duo split in 2004. He would win the Tag Team Championship one more time with Rico.

Haas would move to singles competition before his release from WWE in 2005. After wrestling in the independent circuit, he would be re-signed to WWE in April 2006. Haas and Benjamin would reform the World’s Greatest Tag Team. However, Benjamin would be moved to the ECW brand and Haas got stuck doing gimmicks like a comical luchador, and a Hall of Fame wrestlers impersonator. He would be released in February 2010.

It would be interesting to see what comes out of Charlie Haas challenging Chris Jericho. Jericho still hasn’t responded, but it would surely be fun to see the two square off in the ring.

  • Tony Khan On Babyfaces & Heels, Other Booking Strategies

Tony Khan On Babyfaces & Heels, Other Booking Strategies

Tony Khan was recently a guest on Wrestling Observer Radio and spoke about his philosophies around booking a wrestling show. He was asked specifically about having clearly defined babyfaces and heels.

“No, I don’t always,” Khan said when asked if heels and babyfaces should be clearly defined. “I think there are a lot of times where it makes sense. Look, MJF vs Darby on this PPV, that is one of the matches I’m very excited about. It’s very clear who is the heel in Darby vs MJF and who is the babyface.”

He continued, “So, I think that the show is stacked with great matches and I think one of the things that makes AEW great is that not every match is necessarily the black and white heel vs the black and white babyface. There are matches where it’s very obvious and there are matches where it’s less obvious.”

Fans pushing him to change creative direction

Tony Khan also commented on how often he changes his mind on a booking decision based on fan reaction.

“Yeah, I’ve definitely changed my mind based on the fans’ reactions before, many times. Definitely, I’ve changed planned plans,” Khan said.

“Certainly the fans reacting more positively or negatively to something than I expected does affect how I perceive the stories and the matches and the results.”

Joey Janela Reveals When His AEW Contract Expires

Joey Janela has his AEW contract expiring next year and the hardcore star believes that he needs to step his game up before that. The bad boy recently appeared on My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox. He discussed how he felt unmotivated during the pandemic era because of the lack of crowds.

Speaking of his AEW future, Janela revealed that he signed a three-year-long contract with AEW. His current deal expires in May next year:

“I’m under a three-year deal. My contract’s up in May, you know, I really have to step it up. I felt like I have in the last couple of months. You know, just having killer matches on Dark. Yeah. The arena’s coming back, it really helped me. I feel like we got something right now with AEW, I’m crossing my fingers.”

Joey Janela said that he hopes things will go on an upward trajectory from here on because the whole pandemic was the worst for him. The AEW star has been a regular performer for the promotion since its debut.

Though many believe that he has been outshined by other AEW signings in recent months. Janela is not booked for Saturday’s Full Gear PPV either. We will have to see if he is able to improve his position within the company before his deal ends.

  • CM Punk Responds To Criticism Of His AEW Booking

CM Punk Responds To Criticism Of His AEW Booking

The return of CM Punk was one of the biggest wrestling comebacks of the past decade. The buzz surrounding him, however, has cooled down quite a bit since then. Many fans believe that his lackluster booking in AEW is the reason for it. Now the straight edge star has responded to this criticism from the fans.

Punk recently had an interview with Bleacher Report. Responding to the criticism, he said that people who have seen the same thing for the past 20 years, don’t understand when they see something different:

“I think the majority of people currently watching wrestling have been fed the same thing for 20-25 years so that when they see something different, they automatically don’t understand it, don’t like it, or try to dissect it. There are a million different styles of pro wrestling, there are a million different booking philosophies, and I’m just kind of doing what I want to do. You can’t really look at the whole picture until you know we’re done telling the story.”

CM Punk Doesn’t Listen To The Criticism

CM Punk admitted that there are a lot of moving parts in what they are doing so they have to come up with some things on the fly. Though according to him, it’s just a different way of doing things and that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s bad or wrong:

“And honestly, this is all meant for me to kind of have fun with, so as long as I’m having fun and I’m doing what I want to do, I don’t listen to the criticism, I can understand the criticism because we’re not doing what people are used to what they’ve seen for 20 years, but we’re moving in the right direction and at the pace we want to go.”

CM Punk made his triumphant wrestling return and joined AEW back in August. His first match for the company was against Darby Allin at All Out which he won. The former world champion is scheduled to face Eddie Kingston at the upcoming Full Gear PPV this Saturday.

  • Jeff Jarrett Thinks AEW-Owen Hart Foundation Partnership Is ‘Excellent’

Jeff Jarrett Thinks AEW-Owen Hart Foundation Partnership Is ‘Excellent’

Jeff Jarrett is all for the partnership between AEW and the Owen Hart Foundation.

Owen Hart tragically died on May 23, 1999. Jarrett and Owen were great friends and following Hart’s tragic fall at the Over The Edge PPV, Jarrett was visibly shaken and prayed for Owen before having a mixed tag team match.

Back in September, AEW announced a partnership with the Owen Hart Foundation. Through this partnership, AEW will be hosting a tournament called, “The Owen.”

Owen Hart’s likeness will also be used for the upcoming AEW console video game and retail goods.

Jeff Jarrett Praises AEW-Owen Hart Foundation Partnership

Jeff Jarrett appeared on That 90s Wrestling Podcast and expressed his joy in Owen Hart’s name being introduced to a fresh crop of fans.

“It’s excellent. At the very end of the day, father time’s undefeated. So, we all pass on and the only thing that sometimes living in our fast, busy world, material possessions or events or triumphs or tragedy, that really all comes and goes with life but a legacy like Owen left?

“Obviously, Owen passed away 22 years ago, so that in and of itself is amazing. But the legacy of Owen Hart is gonna be exposed to an entirely new generation in a very positive way.

“Hats off to everyone involved with all that, Martha, and Oje, Athena, the kids. Just how that legacy, but also the awareness it’s gonna bring to the foundation and doing good.

“Doing the next right thing and being able to take the life Owen lived and make an impact in a very positive way in a lot of folks’ lives.”

The Owen Hart Foundation has made it a mission to help those with limited resources. The efforts have led to those in need obtaining homeownership as well as scholarships for disadvantaged youth.

  • Bully Ray Reacts To Backlash Over His Take On Hangman Page

Bully Ray Reacts To Backlash Over His Take On Hangman Page

Bully Ray has fired back at those who ripped him over his opinion on whether or not Hangman Page should emerge victorious at Full Gear.

This Saturday night (Nov. 13), Page will be challenging Kenny Omega for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. When Hangman first competed for the title back in Aug. 2019, he lost to Chris Jericho.

Many believe the time is now for Hangman to win the AEW gold but Bully Ray had other ideas.

He expressed his belief that it would be beneficial to get more heat on Hangman and have him win the title at another show.

Bully Ray Responds To Angry Fans

Bully got ripped to shreds on social media for his take. During an episode of Busted Open Radio, he addressed the backlash.

“After last night and all the heat that they built up in that segment, which is exactly what I wanted to see, it was crazy to see the tweets I got. This one tweet said, ‘Bully has caused so much discourse with his takes.’

“Well, I’m glad that my takes, my opinion could cause so much discourse amongst the AEW fans or the wrestling community. It’s an opinion based on 30 years of being in this business.

“So, I’m agreeing with you [speaking to host Dave LaGreca] now that they got a good segment of heat on him where he’s signed in blood. Wow, that was awesome I loved it.

“Yes, let’s strike while the iron’s hot but will the iron be hotter in Minneapolis? Or is that a good opportunity to get a little bit more heat? Or if we don’t do it in Minneapolis, have we missed a golden opportunity? It’s just a discussion.”

Bully Ray also claimed the “IWC bottom-feeding dirt sheets” embellished his take on it not being time for Hangman to win the championship.

This is despite the fact that Bully said, “Do I feel it’s the right time for Hangman? I’m gonna say in nine days? No.”

  • More Details On Eddie Kingston & CM Punk Backstage Dispute Referenced On Rampage

More Details On Eddie Kingston & CM Punk Backstage Dispute Referenced On Rampage

Eddie Kingston and CM Punk’s intense promo segment from last week’s Rampage focussed on a beef Kingston had with CM Punk going back to their days on the independent circuit. More details regarding what actually did happen between the two of them was covered in the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

A source speaking on the condition of anonymity noted that they were backstage at a show when Punk and Kingston had an altercation.

“I can fully vouch for Eddie’s promo on Punk the other night. I was sitting right there in an IWA Mid South locker room when Punk called Eddie and his partner at the time, Blackjack Marciano, fat, lazy and unsafe. Marciano had just accidentally injured Delirious in a previous match and Punk was hot about it, so just buried them nonstop. I could see why Eddie hung onto that hate and anger for so long,” the anonymous source said.

This week on AEW Dynamite, Punk and Kingston had to be separated from brawling in the back. The two will face off in singles action at AEW Full Gear on Saturday. It will be the first time the two have ever been in a match together.
