5 Takeaways From AEW Dynamite (11/6)

AEW Dynamite aired live tonight on TNT from the Bojangles’ Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was the final episode of Dynamite before AEW Full Gear this Saturday night. In addition to the takeaways below, a hilarious video package for AEW Champion Chris Jericho aired during tonight’s show.

Here are 5 takeaways from this week’s Dynamite:

PAC Sent A Message To Hangman Page

PAC faced Trent in the first match of the night. Trent was accompanied to the ring by Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy. The crowd broke out in a “Best Friends” chant as PAC and Trent locked up in the middle of the ring.

The crowd transitioned into a loud “PAC, you suck!” chant and PAC rolled out of the ring. PAC got in Orange Cassidy’s face before returning to the ring. Trent leveled PAC with an elbow to the face and followed it up with a couple of chops to the chest.

Trent connected with a Northern Lights Suplex and went for the cover but PAC kicked out at two. PAC brought Trent to the outside and launched him into the barricade. PAC slammed Trent onto the entrance ramp and then finally returned to the ring.

PAC flipped onto Trent outside the ring and rolled him back inside. PAC climbed to the top rope and hit Trent with a Dropkick for a one count. PAC planted Trent with a German Suplex and bridged into the cover for a near fall.

Orange Cassidy rolled into the ring as Chuck hopped on the ring apron. PAC booted Cassidy in the face and his sunglasses went flying to the outside. Trent capitalized on the distraction with a couple of Clotheslines and then a Suplex that sent PAC to the outside.

Trent flipped onto PAC and then returned the favor by launching PAC into the barricade. PAC battled back and sent Trent to the barricade but Trent bounced off and connected with a Spear.

Back in the ring, Trent hit a knee to the back of PAC’s head for a two count. Trent turned PAC inside out with a Clothesline and followed it up with a Tornado DDT for another near fall.

PAC hit Trent with a Brainbuster on the floor outside the ring. Back in the ring, PAC climbed up to the top rope and hit the Black Arrow for a two count. PAC quickly locked in the Brutalizer and Trent passed out. After the win, PAC vowed to make an example out of Hangman Page this Saturday at Full Gear.

The ending of this match was odd because I don’t think Trent was supposed to kick out of the Black Arrow. However, this was a very fun match to kick off the show and PAC vs. Hangman at Full Gear should be a great match.

Cody Will Never Get Another Shot At The AEW Championship If He Loses At Full Gear

Cody came down to the ring to make a “career announcement” before his title match against AEW Champion Chris Jericho this Saturday night at Full Gear. Tony Schiavone joined Cody in the ring and stated that Cody has an announcement that is weighing heavily on him.

Cody listed off some legends, including his father Dusty Rhodes which quickly prompted a loud “Dusty!” chant. Cody said that those men were great wrestlers but were surrounded with controversy because they were also management. He said that he cannot ignore the criticism that he is management and also in a title match.

The crowd interrupted with a “you deserve it!” chant and Cody stood in silence. Cody announced that if he does not defeat Chris Jericho at Full Gear, he will never challenge for the AEW Championship against. Cody joked that Chris Jericho’s best selling book being only $3 on Amazon.

Cody pointed out that Jericho called him a millennial bitch and that he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Cody noted that Jericho was the son of a famous hockey player and called him a “stupid dick”. Cody claimed that he needed this generation more than it needs him. Rhodes got fired up and said this isn’t about his dad, it is about the living (his mother, his sister, his wife) and the 14 years he has worked to go from undesirable to undeniable.

Cody cut an unbelievable promo tonight that you need to see if you missed it. It was easily one of the best promos I’ve seen in some time in any promotion.

AEW pulled off an awesome go-home show for Full Gear tonight. Dynamite absolutely flew by and the brawl to close the show was awesome. There are several matches on Full Gear’s card that I’m looking forward to and tonight’s show only enhanced that. Cody’s promo was the highlight of the night but the entire show was excellent.

  • Stipulation Added To Chris Jericho vs. Cody Rhodes At AEW Full Gear

Stipulation Added To Chris Jericho vs. Cody Rhodes At AEW Full Gear

Cody Rhodes had been hyping up the fact that he would be making a career announcement.

Rhodes did so on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT when he revealed a stipulation for his match against AEW World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho at AEW Full Gear.

This is where he cut a promo about how if he doesn’t beat Jericho at this show then he will never challenge for the title again. The reason for this was due to hearing the criticisms of him being in a title match and an AEW Executive Vice President. Rhodes’ promo was highly praised by fans on social media.

  • Chris Jericho Explains Why He Never Thought Randy Orton Would Leave WWE For AEW

Chris Jericho Explains Why He Never Thought Randy Orton Would Leave WWE For AEW

Chris Jericho opened up in an interview with SportsKeeda about why he didn’t think that Randy Orton was actually going to end up in AEW after all.

This comes after Orton had teased on social media that he could be leaving WWE for the rival promotion. That speculation came to a close when he signed a new deal with WWE.

According to Jericho, he never thought that Orton would leave and it all comes down to money unless Orton was dead set on leaving.

“I can’t say anything about it because I don’t know anything about it, no-one’s calling me to tell me about these things. But I know this – nobody is getting out of WWE, especially Randy Orton, because unless he’s very, very committed to saying ‘I don’t care if you pay me 20 gazillion dollars I’m leaving’ that’s not what he’s doing. I mean, obviously Vince is going to pay millions and millions of dollars to not have Randy Orton go.”

Jericho would sidetrack away from Orton to talk about how there are some guys who do want to leave WWE. He brought up how AEW is trying to avoid becoming old-school TNA where practically every notable WWE star to be release would come to the promotion. He brought up how Jon Moxley did make the move because he was done and ready to go.

“If you’re using AEW to make more money off of Vince, go for it! That’s great too but it’s not like we’re taking everybody that’s going to leave WWE to come to AEW.”

The reason for that is due to the guys working for WWE now got huge raises instead of going to the independent circle to make 500 bucks a night.

“The point is that Vince just doesn’t want anybody to leave WWE because it looks like an exodus if they do and makes us look even cooler. We do things our way, we’ve got a great roster of guys and if somebody becomes available that really wants to be with us and we think that they fit our vibe then we’ll take them.”

Randy Orton Signs 5-Year WWE Contract Extension

Jericho stated that it doesn’t mean that talent will be getting millions and millions of dollars to come because that’s not what AEW is doing. He thinks AEW has assembled an awesome roster with at least ten to twelve potential main eventers.

Jericho knows that AEW will have to build all those guys up first to build up all the mid-card guys and so on to create stars.

“But if a Randy Orton became available and said ‘I’m leaving I don’t care what’ then I’m sure we’d be really interested in talking to him and we could do great stuff. I’ll tell you what; he’ll probably be more over with us in a month than he has been in the last ten years with WWE.”

  • Cody Rhodes Gives AEW Dynamite An “A” Grade, Talks Longterm Booking

Cody Rhodes Gives AEW Dynamite An “A” Grade, Talks Longterm Booking

Five weeks into AEW Dynamite’s run on TNT, Cody Rhodes grades the show an A.

Ahead of Saturday night’s AEW Full Gear pay-per-view, Cody spoke with Peter Rosenberg on the Cheap Heat podcast for ESPN Radio.

When asked what ‘grade’ he would give the show so far, Cody wasn’t shy about how happy he is with the product. Cody told Rosenberg, “I would give it an A. I’d say four of the five shows, I would give an A+.”

Cody elaborated that it’s all about executing a long-term vision – an AEW is right on course with their plans. Cody reveals that AEW is taking a more-traditional approach to their booking. They’ve planned out several months of television, they know the destination they’re aiming for and their week-to-week writing is all about staying on that path.

“I only say that because the execution is the main thing, we have to execute and we have this long form plan,” he said, “and we had been planning this for quite some time, and it’s a lot more traditional booking vs. writing, and with traditional booking, you’re going backwards from these major events.

Cody aded that his role as one of the top people behind the scenes has prevented him from being a ‘regular’ fan of AEW. He feels honored to be in his position and is working tirelessly to validate the responsibilities he’s been given.

AEW Dark Week 5 Preview (11/5)

AEW Dark returns tonight (Tuesday) for Week 5 of the popular YouTube series.

The show will be hosted by Tony Schiavone. It will feature matches that were taped last Wednesday in Charleston, WV at the Charleston Coliseum before and after the live episode of AEW’s weekly television show, Dynamite, on TNT.

Matches scheduled for AEW Dark Week 3 include:

    • Shawn Spears (with Tully Blanchard) vs. Michael Nakazawa.
    • Joey Janela and Jimmy Havoc vs. Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt)
    • Big Swole and Mercedes Martinez vs. Sadie Gibbs and Allie

    Dark to Dynamite

Dark is AEW’s secondary program, but the promotion has not been shy about featuring marquee matches on it. The first few weeks of AEW Dark have seen strong viewership, with both delivering around 900,000 views.

Because AEW Dark airs on Tuesday nights, it gives the promotion as a chance to hype up the next episode of Dynamite to air the following night.

This Wednesday, All Elite Wrestling is set to travel to Charlotte, NC at the Bojangles Coliseum for an all-new episode of Dynamite on TNT.

The promotion has already announced several big matches including Hangman Page and Kenny Omega teaming up against Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara that will likely serve as the headliner.

  • Young Bucks Discuss Learning From Dean Malenko & Chris Jericho

Matt and Nick Jackson, collectively known as The Young Bucks, have opened up about how instrumental Dean Malenko and All Elite Wrestling World Champion Chris Jericho have been backstage during their shows.

“Let’s Try To Give Them Something Different”

“It’s a team effort, but I would say Chris Jericho has definitely given the most pointers to us, individually, I would say” Nick Jackson shared during an episode of SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio. “Because he’s been doing it for so long and he’s given us tips on how to make things work perfectly. He knows what he’s talking about. He’s so smart. I feel like he’s taught us the most with timing things.”

His brother, Matt Jackson, added “[…] I think the way to stay on top in wrestling is you never stop learning. So to have a guy like a Dean Malenko there, it’s so great to have these minds to just pick. Not even just that. Sometimes we’ll sit at the go position, and I’ll watch a guy like Dean, and I’ll watch the way that he produces the segment and I” ll listen to him. […] You just mentioned with the timing; he knows exactly when to time things.”

He continued, “Chris Jericho is the master at these things. He told Nick the other day, like, if you’ve got a 13-minute match, plan a kickass 13-minute match. Don’t worry too much about the break spots tonight. Let’s try to give them something different. […] We don’t want to fall into doing the same thing every week and fall into these patterns. We’re trying to be unpredictable still, and trying to find our sweet spot.”

The Young Bucks are scheduled to compete against Inner Circle members Santana and Ortiz at AEW’s next pay-per-view, Full Gear, on November 9.

  • Comedian Chris D’Elia Has Discovered Orange Cassidy

Comedian Chris D’Elia Has Discovered Orange Cassidy

Comedian Chris D’Elia has discovered AEW star Orange Cassidy and he’s already a big fan. So much so that he’s ready ‘follow this man to the ends of the earth” and is ready to step in an AEW ring.

D’Elia posted a video of Cassidy from All Out to his nearly 1-million Twitter followers. Orange Cassidy’s comedy act is beloved by many, but not for everybody. D’Elia, however, was instantly sold, calling it, legitimately the illest sh*t” he’s ever seen.

Cassidy was tagged in the tweet and appreciated the kind words. Cassidy told D’Elia, “Game recognize game” – a sign that he’s also a fan of D’Elia’s work.

AEW’s official Twitter account jumped in on the action, putting out feelers to D’Elia about visiting his ‘log cabin’ to ‘chill or something.’ D’Elia’s in and (joked?) that he wants to step into an AEW, since he’s buff and all.

  • Cody Rhodes To Make ‘Career Announcement’ On AEW Dynamite This Week

Cody Rhodes To Make ‘Career Announcement’ On AEW Dynamite This Week

It appears that AEW is planning to bounce back after suffering a big decline in viewership for Dynamite last week with the announcement of 2 interesting angles for this week’s episode of the show.

The first angle is a segment that will feature Cody Rhodes making some sort of career announcement ahead of his upcoming Full Gear match with Chris Jericho.

The announcement for the segment was made by Rhodes himself who took on his Twitter and said that he hopes his announcement will resonate well with the fans because it means a great deal to him:

The second thing announced for the upcoming episode of Dynamite is a tag team match featuring the Inaugural AEW World Champion Chris Jericho.

Jericho will be teaming up with fellow Inner Circle member Sammy Guevara to face the team of Hangman Page and ‘The Cleaner’ Kenny Omega on the show.

The upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite will serve as the go-home episode for the Full Gear PPV on November 9th.

Since the company has only announced 4 matches for the upcoming event so far, it’s likely that they will announce a few more matches for the event on this week’s episode of the show. You can check out the updated match card for AEW Full Gear here.

  • Jack Hager Recalls Creative Frustrations In WWE

Jack Hager Recalls Creative Frustrations In WWE

All Elite Wrestling’s Jake Hager has opened up about what he considers key differences between AEW and WWE. Speaking with Busted Open Radio, Hager talked about the creative freedoms in AEW compared to his time in WWE. He noted how Superstars would often begin a new storyline or angle, only for it be stopped dead.

“If it makes sense up there [in WWE], they are not going to do it. It has to not make sense for them to want to go forward with it,” Hager explained. “That part gets frustrating because you see so many times that I had really cool moments in my career and then the next day it gets stopped for no reason and who knows why.”

“Maybe I did something or maybe it’s the powers that be that chose it but it is really frustrating because you put your body on the line; you put your back on the line and your neck on the line and give your body to these people and you go out there and give your heart to these people and all of a sudden it is taken away. You don’t even have an explanation for it and then you are back at the bottom of the pile again. I don’t think you can sustain, that is not a good business model.”

He continued,” They say that talent is the biggest asset of the company but they don’t treat it as that, so it is so frustrating that you get storylines canceled day of, hours before the show is about to go on. That is one thing we know about AEW. We know the script a week out, even before we go out to TV so we are already thinking about what to do and how to entertain our great fans.”

    Night And Day

When asked about the differences between AEW and WWE locker rooms, Hager said they are “night and day.” Part of that is the approachability of AEW President, Tony Khan. Hager noted that Khan’s friendly attitude has trickled down across the entire company. He explained that this has created a better working environment for everybody involved. He added that AEW is comprised of a bunch of hungry young talent, all of whom are trying to build a future “outside of the WWE.”

  • Cody Rhodes Discusses Being A Mentor To MJF

Cody Rhodes Discusses Being A Mentor To MJF

All Elite Wrestling’s Cody Rhodes has spoken out about his best friend MJF. He addressed his role as a mentor to his often brash protege, stating that he sees MJF as a talent he wants to help cultivate.

In an interview with Wrestlezone, Cody reflected on how he has been a “bad guy” on numerous occasions, having turned on tag team partners himself in the past. It’s something he is well aware of when fans speculate that, one day, MJF will turn on him.

“I’m not oblivious to the fact that MJF is an ass,” he said. “I’m aware. I’ve done signings with him too and I’ve asked never to do signings with him again because he is fully committed to you hating him. However—he was my handpicked project before All In.”

He continued, “Whether it’s because he’s in your face asking questions, whether it’s because he’s literally growing—his body’s growing, knowing that he’s putting work in in the gym—his matches. He’s able to mix the modern style with a new style, creating his own style, or it’s just the X factor, whatever it was. I sold him to Matt and Nick for All In, and then after that, I never had to sell him again.”

    Project MJF

When it comes to their friendship, Cody wants to take responsibility for MJF as a talent, referring to his friend as a “project.”

“He’s entertaining, and I feel like he’s mine. I want to cultivate that,” Rhodes admitted. “My Dad had so many projects through the years, so many projects. So, this is my project. And maybe I don’t have that many, but this is one of my first projects as a leader and as a mentor.”

“I’ve never been a mentor before, or at least I didn’t know I was until now. Some of those guys—‘Jungle Boy’ Jack Perry, Kip Sabian, Max—a bunch of projects that we have that we’ve homegrown and developed. I want Max to have the best chance to succeed and win. I know he’s not friendly and I know he’s not sociable, but in the ring he can get it done. If you watch last week’s Dynamite, he will make the right decision from time to time.”

Cody faces AEW World Champion Chris Jericho for the title at AEW Full Gear on November 9th.

Shanna dropped a single’s match to Hikaru Shida this week on Dynamite in her debut for AEW. “Portugal’s Perfect Athlete” has now signed a 3-year deal with the promotion and will be full-time.

  • Bea Priestley On Why She Didn’t Sign With NXT UK

Bea Priestley On Why She Didn’t Sign With NXT UK

Current World of Stardom champion and AEW wrestler Bea Priestley was offered a contract to join NXT UK. Priestley would turn down the offer, however. She noted in a recent interview with Talk Sport in the UK that she did so out of fear she would get lost in the shuffle in WWE.

“It was very difficult because, Toni Storm, she is one of my best friends ever,” Priestley said when asked if it was difficult to turn down the NXT UK contract. “And also, I’ve got a very strong bond with Kay Lee [Ray] and Viper [Piper Niven]; Piper and I are a tag team in Japan and I’ve got a lot of working experience with Kay Lee.”

Priestley would continue to say that at the time they offered her a contract, however, she felt as though she would get lost in the shuffle of their roster.

“At the time when they offered me a contract, I already knew that Piper and Kay Lee had signed. So for me, I didn’t think that I was never going to have a spotlight on me because they had just signed two of the top girls in the UK.”

Priestley was concerned she would end up as a mid-carder on the brand.

“So I was going to be signed as a mid-carder and it would have taken me a while to get the spotlight on me. So in my head, I was like ‘Ok, if I stay away – I still want to get a lot more experience in Japan – I still have a lot of other things I want to do’, for me, that was the best decision for me.”

Bea Priestley on Signing With AEW

Priestley would also talk about her relationship with the team from AEW during the interview. She mentioned first working with Cody and Brandi in 2016/17 around the time when she was being recruited by the NXT UK brand.

“I first met Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes during a What Culture show in 2016 or 2017? It was a few years ago. So I already had a good relationship with Brandi and at the end of 2018, then Brandi and Cody did a tour with a promotion called Fight Forever. I wrestled Brandi on one of those shows and Brandi really enjoyed the match, Cody really enjoyed the match and they were like ‘that was really great’, but then I got a phone call from NXT UK.”

Ultimately, AEW would offer her a deal which would allow her to continue to work with Stardom as well.

“So I contacted Cody and said ‘they’ve made me an offer but I’m not really sure what I want to do’ and then from there, Cody and Brandi offered me a part-time deal and for me, I still wanted to have a big poart in Stardom, so the AEW deal worked out a lot better for me than the NXT UK deal. Because I wouldn’t be able to commit as much as I have to Japan if I was in NXT UK.”

    AEW Dynamite

AEW Dynamite that aired during the same time slot on TNT pulled in 759,000, which is down from last week’s episode that did 963,000. The key number is the 18-49 demos that saw AEW draw 0.33, down from the 0.45 last week.

Top matches on AEW included SCU vs. Lucha Bros in the AEW Tag Team Tournament Finals, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks vs. Kip Sabian and The Hybrid 2 (Jack Evans and Angelico) and more.

5 Takeaways From AEW Dynamite (10/30)

  • Statistical Analysis: SCU vs. Lucha Bros. (AEW Tag Tournament Finals)

Statistical Analysis: SCU vs. Lucha Bros. (AEW Tag Tournament Finals)

We are introducing a new feature here at SEScoops: a Statistical Analysis of (at least) one featured match per week. Our first installment looks at the finals of All Elite Wrestling’s tournament to crown the first-ever AEW World Tag Team Champions.

SCU vs Lucha Bros.: AEW Tag Tournament Finals
    AEW Dynamite: October 30th, 2019

The main event of this week’s AEW Dynamite saw SCU (Scorpio Sky & Frankie Kazarian) clash with the Lucha Bros. (Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix). This match wasn’t just about championship gold however, SCU were also out to avenge their fallen SCU team member Christopher Daniels, who hasn’t been seen since Pentagon gave him a piledriver on the ramp several weeks ago.

    Breakdown & Deciding Factors

This championship match was a fraught and often chaotic affair, with 70 strikes being thrown in the opening exchange. Lucha Bros weathered the early storm and took charge of the match, so much so they limited SCU to only one tag.

The amount of strikes thrown by SCU led to them to use a higher percentage of offense in this match, 58% of the match’s offense came from SCU.

SCU’s eventual victory came as a consequence of fighting from underneath in the closing stretch as Sky reversed the Foot-Stomp Piledriver to pin Pentagon.

SCU landed significantly more strikes than their opponents, but the Lucha Bros. landed more dives (4-3), reversed more moves (13-10) and had more pin attempts (4-3). Ultimately, SCU’s win was the result of grit and determination, as they did not have any big [statistical] advantages over the Lucha Bros.

  • NBC Sports Twitter For Chicago Cubs Says They Like AEW Over WWE In Response To Raw Segment

NBC Sports Twitter For Chicago Cubs Says They Like AEW Over WWE In Response To Raw Segment

On this week’s WWE Raw, The Viking Raiders had a squash match against indie wrestlers Mike Sydal and Kyle Roberts who were dressed in The Chicago Cubs uniform, and were even billed as the baseball team’s name.

Raw took place in St. Louis that night, which is the home of the Cardinals, and WWE wanted to play off of the two teams’ bitter rivalry in front of the St. Louis crowd.

The duo of “Rizzo” and “Bryant” of “The Chicago Cubs” didn’t last long in front of the Viking Raiders at all – as is the case with enhancement talent – the match was over in a couple of minutes. The WWE Raw Tag Team Champions didn’t give the Cubs a single chance to attack them.

While the audience in attendance was dead for the most part of the match, WWE’s shot against the Cubs did gain attention elsewhere. The segment caught the attention of the official NBC Sports account for the Chicago White Sox, who enjoyed seeing the Cubs get a beatdown. So of course, the Cubs’ NBC Sports account responded, and said in the now-viral response that they like All Elite Wrestling over WWE anyway.

    https://twitter.com/NBCSCubs/status/1189274892593782785

This got the attention of none other than executive vice president of AEW, Cody Rhodes, and chief brand officer Brandi Rhodes.

  • Jake Hager On Difference Between His Character In WWE And AEW

Jake Hager On Difference Between His Character In WWE And AEW

Jake Hager who signed with AEW recently has more than a decade of experience in professional wrestling. He is a different guy compared to when he signed with WWE as Jack Swagger and had no experience in the world of sports entertainment whatsoever.

During a recent interview with WrestlingInc, the former World Champion talked about a number of things and also explained the difference between these two characters.

The Bellator star said that he felt choreographed in WWE and the Jake Hager who is now in his 30s has got culture and experience after having been around the world a couple of times before signing with AEW:

“As cool as Jack Swagger was, he felt choreographed, I look at that as a 20-year-old Jake Hager. Now, Jake Hager is in his 30’s, he’s been around the world a couple of times, he’s got culture, he’s got experience. He’s just a, smarter, more well-developed human being.”

Jake Hager also talked about joining AEW. Talking about the stars he would like to face in the company, he said AEW has a great roster and took the names of the likes of Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, and Rey Phoenix.

Apart from this, Hager also discussed things like changing his MMA training schedule after debuting for AEW, which MMA stars he wants to face in future and more. You can check out his full interview at this link.

  • 5 Takeaways From AEW Dynamite (10/30)

5 Takeaways From AEW Dynamite (10/30)

AEW Dynamite aired live from the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center in Charleston, West Virginia. In addition to the takeaways below, Hikaru Shida defeated Shanna during tonight’s Dynamite.

Here are 5 takeaways from the show:

Hangman Page Sent A Message To PAC

Hangman Adam Page battled Sammy Guevara in the first match of the night. Sammy connected with a Superkick but Hangman shrugged it off and leveled Sammy with a Clothesline.

Page followed it up with a big boot and then a Back Drop. Sammy rolled to the apron to regroup but Hangman followed him out there. Page went for the Dead Eye but Sammy escaped. Guevara charged at Hangman but Page countered into a Sidewalk Slam on the apron.

Back in the ing, Hangman planted Guevara with a Powerbomb and went for the cover but Sammy kicked out at two. Hangman threw Guevara to the outside and made his way to the top rope. Page hit an awesome Moonsault and rolled Guevara back into the ring.

Hangman set up for the Buckshot Lariat but Sammy rolled out of the way. Guevara hit a knee to the face but Hangman battled back and quickly connected with the Buckshot Lariat for the pinfall victory. After the match, Hangman said he was going to some real cowboy shit at Full Gear and take PAC’s head off. The crowd chanted “cowboy shit!” as Page posed in the ring.

    Inner Circle Attacked Dustin Rhodes

Cody took a ride in a limo with Tony Schiavone to the arena for the contract signing for the AEW Championship match against Chris Jericho at Full Gear. Cody revealed that his mother is coming to Full Gear on November 9th.

They then arrived at the arena and met Jericho on the entrance ramp for the contract signing. Cody quickly signed the contract and slid it over to Jericho. Chris grabbed the microphone and was greeted with “you suck!” chants from the crowd.

Jericho said that this match is too important to flip a table over or Powerbomb Cody through it. He added that this is the biggest match of Cody’s career at Full Gear. Jericho stated that if Cody loses it will prove to all the millennial jackasses in the crowd that Cody isn’t that good. Jericho signed the contract and vowed to teach Cody what it is like to be a loser at Full Gear.

Chris got up and called the crowd hillbillies and they responded with a loud “asshole!” chant. Jericho extended his hand and Cody shook it. Jericho tried to walk away but Cody pulled him back. Jericho took off his sunglasses and said that we can stand here all night but Cody might be needed elsewhere.

Inner Circle (Jake Hager & Sammy Guevara) was shown in the parking lot attacking Dustin Rhodes. Hager slammed the car door on Dustin’s arm before Cody and MJF showed up. Hager and Guevara backed away as Jericho showed up with a cigar. Inner Circle told Cody to take Dustin to the hospital and wished him a Happy Halloween before driving away.

I really enjoyed this segment. Jericho’s value it AEW right now is immense and he is doing such an excellent job as the champion. The crowd is fully behind Cody and it is going to be an amazing atmosphere for this match at Full Gear.

The Elite Picked Up A Win

The Hybrid 2 (Angelico & Jack Evans) & Kip Sabian squared off against the Young Bucks & Kenny Omega. Sabian flipped onto the Young Bucks as the Hybrid 2 isolated Kenny Omega in the ring. Omega battled back and knocked them out of the ring. Matt and Nick Jackson got back into the ring and hit Sabian with a Dropkick.

    https://twitter.com/tde_wrestling/status/1189713350760042501?s=20

Evans leveled Omega with a knee to the face and flipped onto him outside the ring. Sabian planted Matt with a Suplex and went for the cover but Matt kicked out at two. Kip connected with a Hurricanrana off the top rope for a near fall.

Omega took out everyone with a few awesome Snap Dragon Suplexes and tagged Nick Jackson in. Omega hit Angelico with a V-Trigger but Sabian threw him out of the ring. Kip mocked Omega and tried to flip onto him but got planted with a Powerbomb for his troubles.

Back in the ring, The Elite hit Jack Evans with three Superkicks and Omega followed it up with the V-Trigger. Kenny hit the One Winged Angel for the pinfall victory. After the match, Matt and Nick started arguing with a couple of fans in Rick and Morty masks. Santana and Ortiz then took off the masks and beat the Young Bucks down before retreating through the crowd.

Jon Moxley Vented About His Match With Omega Being Unsanctioned

    Jon Moxley
    Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley interrupted the Librarian and planted him with the Paradigm Shift. Jon brought up his match against Kenny Omega now being an Unsanctioned Match, which means officially the match doesn’t count in the record books.

Moxley claimed that AEW wants to treat him like a freak and put him in a box so that he won’t cause any trouble. He shouted that this is how it is going to be than AEW can shove the win and loss records up their ass. Moxley added that he is the sickest son of a bitch in this game and there is nobody that is going to prove him.

Jon vowed to beat Kenny Omega to within an inch of his life at Full Gear. Moxley shouted that Kenny’s blood will be on AEW’s hands and that AEW management should kiss his ass and stay the hell out of his way.

    https://twitter.com/AEWrestling/status/1189688166111989761?s=20

Jon Moxley is a hell of a lot more entertaining than Dean Ambrose ever was in WWE. All AEW has to do is hand him a microphone and let him go. I also really liked the conversation that Moxley had with Tony Khan backstage that led to the match being Unsanctioned. Moxley in this role is excellent and there is no stupid “Lunatic Fringe” label on him and he isn’t befriending a potted plant named Mitch. He is causing chaos and it is awesome to watch.

SCU Became The First AEW Tag Team Champions

Chris Van Vliet interviewed the Rock n Roll Express during tonight’s Dynamite. Proud and Powerful (Santana & Ortiz) attacked the Rock n Roll Express until the Young Bucks finally broke it up. The Rock n Roll Express was supposed to present the Tag Team Championships later on the show.

Lucha Bros (Pentagon & Fenix) battled SCU (Scorpio Sky & Frankie Kazarian) in the finals of the AEW Tag Team Tournament. The match started out in a brawl with both teams trading punches in the ring. Pentagon Jr. hit Scorpio with a Backstabber and then connected with a Pumphandle Slam to Frankie for a two count.

Pentagon hit Sky with a Slingblade as Fenix walked across the top rope and booted Frankie in the face. Scorpio Sky hit Pentagon with a Hurricanrana as Frankie planted Fenix with a German Suplex for a near fall. Pentagon hit Scorpio Sky with a Superkick and then held Kazarian. Fenix hit an awesome Leg Drop on Kazarian as Dynamite went to a commercial break.

Back from the break, Scorpio Sky flipped onto Pentagon outside the ring but turned around into a Dropkick from Fenix. Kazarian went for a Hurricanrana on Fenix but it was botched and Frankie slammed his head off the apron. Pentagon hit Frankie with a Destroyer and then Fenix connected with a Cutter on Scorpio Sky for a two count.

Sky and Fenix both went for Crossbodies and wound up colliding in the ring. Pentagon then Powerbombed Frankie through the timekeeper’s table outside the ring. Pentagon hit Scorpio Sky with a Superkick and Fenix followed it up with a Splash off of Pentagon’s shoulders for a near fall. Scorpio Sky then picked up the win for SCU via a roll-up.

The finish to this match felt a bit rushed as AEW still needs to work on managing time better on Dynamite. There was hardly any reaction because the crowd was expecting Lucha Bros to win and they were also caught off guard by the sudden finish. I hope Kazarian is alright because he bashed his head off the apron extremely hard and I have no idea how he was able to finish the match. The contract signing and Moxley’s promo being the best parts of the show in my opinion.

AEW Full Gear: Stipulation Added Moxley vs. Omega

All Elite Wrestling has announced a stipulation for Jon Moxley vs. Kenny Omega at the upcoming Full Gear pay-per-view.

As seen on Thursday’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Charleston, WV at the Charleston Coliseum on TNT, cameras followed Moxley into the office of AEW President Tony Khan’s office last week.

This is where it was revealed that this scheduled match will be an unsanctioned lights out match as AEW can no longer sanction the match. Moxley said that Khan will be responsible for what happens to Omega at Full Gear.
