  • Brandi Rhodes Reveals If She Takes Delight From Seeing Karma Come to Those Who Wronged Her in Pro Wrestling Business

Brandi Rhodes Reveals If She Takes Delight From Seeing Karma Come to Those Who Wronged Her in Pro Wrestling Business

Brandi Rhodes has been busy since departing from the pro wrestling world. As wife of Cody Rhodes, she will always be a part of the business, and today she had quite a statement to make.

    Brandi Rhodes Makes Bold Statement

The pro wrestling world can be a difficult place to operate at time, and women in the industry have faced certain struggles time and time again. Although not all stories need to be detailed, it is apparent that Brandi Rhodes went through a lot in the pro wrestling business.

Brandi shared that during her time in wrestling, a few individuals made things unnecessarily difficult for her. However, she expressed having no joy in learning about the karma they have faced. She then used that statement to provide her daughter with an example of what a lie is.

“There were a handful of legit idiots who made my time in wrestling harder than it needed to be. But when I hear of the cold dishes of karma they’ve been served, it gives me absolutely no pleasure.

(This was me giving my daughter an example of what a bold faced lie is).”

    Recent Allegations in Pro Wrestling

Although it has not been confirmed who Brandi is talking about in this post, there is a lot of karma getting cashed in throughout the pro wrestling business. Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis were both called out in an earth-shattering lawsuit from Janel Grant, one that caused McMahon to resign from WWE.

Brandi Rhodes’ Career In Pro Wrestling

Brandi Rhodes started her wrestling journey as a WWE ring announcer under the name Eden Stiles. She met Cody Rhodes during that time in her life. However, she departed from WWE in 2016, around the same time that Cody left the company in the middle of his Stardust run.

The pair then took off to tackle a global wrestling journey, showcasing their talents in various promotions, eventually landing in AEW. Cody and Brandi left AEW in 2022, and then the American Nightmare returned to WWE.

Although Brandi has not signed with any pro wrestling company since, she has been busy. She opened up a yoga studio, NakedMind, in Roswell, Georgia.

  • How Vince McMahon Allegations Affected A Huge Announcement From AEW

How Vince McMahon Allegations Affected A Huge Announcement From AEW

The pro wrestling world has a few interesting free agents, but Mercedes Mone may have already quietly signed a deal with AEW. It was previously reported that some within the company believe a deal is done. It is all about waiting for the right time to make the big announcement.

    Mercedes Mone’s Next Move

Tony Khan has an announcement planned for next week’s AEW Dynamite. Many are under the assumption that he will reveal a big signing, possibly Mone.

Mercedes Mone and WWE were reportedly discussing a deal, but they ran into a financial roadblock. Now, all signs point to the former Sasha Banks debuting for AEW.

Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW actually planned to drop their first tease for Mercedes Mone’s debut this week. That was pushed back due to the Vince McMahon news that dominated the news cycle.

The plan is to make a big deal out of Mercedes Mone debut. At one point the plan was to announce it this past weekend, or at least tease it, but it was moved back. The reason given was not wanting to announce it this week given all the far bigger news that came out and that people wouldn’t be focusing on it at all

    What’s Next

AEW has one chance to debut Mercedes Mone, and they want to make it count. She could do a lot of good for Tony Khan’s company, but they need to make sure that everything is considered before making that first big move.

It will be interesting to see how AEW inserts Mone into their women’s division. Currently, Toni Storm and Deonna Purrazzo are engaged in a feud for their Women’s World Title.

SE Scoops will have more updates on Mercedes Mone’s status with AEW. It appears that she is on her way, but Tony Khan needed to change his plan a bit due to the current circumstances.

Rikishi Notifies WWE & AEW About Jacob Fatu’s Free Agent Status

WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi has alerted both WWE and AEW that former MLW National Openweight Champion Jacob Fatu is a free agent.

Fatu gained massive recognition for his tenure in Major League Wrestling (MLW) and his association with the faction CONTRA Unit. He is a former MLW World Heavyweight Champion. His in-ring style combines power, agility, and high-flying moves and those traits make him a dynamic performer.

Jacob recently made New Japan Pro Wrestling appearance at the Battle in the Valley where he teamed with Fred Rosser and Shota Umino and defeated Team Filthy (Jorel Nelson, Royce Isaacs & Tom Lawlor.)

As his last name suggests, he belongs to the Anoa’i wrestling family, which includes legends such as Yokozuna, Umaga, and The Rock. Recently, Roman Reigns-led The Bloodline stable has been unstoppable and represents the family in WWE. Well, given Jacob’s free-agent status, his next move is still a mystery. Rikishi has now put both WWE and AEW on notice after Jacob Fatu ended his five-year run with MLW.

Rikishi believes Jacob Fatu is “ready”

Taking to Twitter/X, Rikishi has said that Jacob Fatu “has been the baddest talented Indy worker on the scene” and that “Its TIME.” He then raised the question as to whether AEW or WWE would bag the signing of the Samoan superstar.

Fans and promotions alike have their eyes on Jacob Fatu as a potential future star in major wrestling companies like WWE and AEW with his reputation steadily growing. He possesses the potential to dominate the wrestling world and he remains a compelling figure in the industry.

There is a huge chance that he could make a move to WWE. It is something that he has been vocal about in the past, more specifically about joining The Bloodline could bolster the stable.

We will have to wait and see what the future holds for Jacob Fatu.

  • AEW’s Jim Ross Doing Well After Undergoing Cancer Surgery This Week

AEW’s Jim Ross Doing Well After Undergoing Cancer Surgery This Week

AEW commentator and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is doing well after undergoing cancer surgery this week.

Taking to Twitter, the AEW broadcaster confirmed the news of his surgery, which took place on his right hip, JR said that all went well and thanked everyone for their support.

In the comments, several names from the world of professional wrestling shared their best wishes with the wrestling commentary legend. Former AEW wrestler Joey Janela encouraged JR to “feel better” while Rob Van Dam, who appeared on this week’s Dynamite, shared a hands in prayer emoji. Chris Van Vliet of the popular Insight podcast added that he was wishing Jim a very speedy recovery.

Ross’ current contract with All Elite Wrestling expires on February 14th. He’s been very open about wanting to re-sign so he can “finish up his career in AEW.”

    JR’s Cancer Battle

JR has battled skin cancer multiple times in his life. He first underwent a skin procedure in 2016 and two years later, shared that the cancer had been completely removed from his shoulder. The WWE Hall of Famer was diagnosed with skin cancer again in October 2021. After this diagnosis, Bret Hart, who has battled and beaten cancer himself, was one of the first people to reach out to Ross. On December 29, of that year, he would share the news that he was cancer free.

We here at SE Scoops would like to wish Jim Ross a full and speedy recovery.

  • Kazuchika Okada’s Current Contract Offer Situation Between AEW & WWE

Kazuchika Okada’s Current Contract Offer Situation Between AEW & WWE

Kazuchika Okada’s next move in the pro wrestling world will be a very important one for his career. He has left NJPW, as his contract is now officially over. Now, he has to make a decision about where he is going next, and there are two big options on the table for him.

Kazuchika Okada’s Big Decision Between WWE & AEW

Okada has been on WWE’s radar for a very long time, but AEW also wants him. At this point, it appears that Tony Khan is also offering him a bigger contract.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that the impression is that AEW offered Okada more money than WWE did. It is likely WWE’s opinion at this time that, while their offer may be lower, if the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion wants to join them, then he will.

“The impression I got is AEW has the higher offer, and WWE is going with the idea that if Okada wants to come to WWE, he’ll come to WWE.”

“Basically, it depends on what Okada’s goal is right now in life. If his goal is to have the most worldwide exposure at this point in his career, then WWE’s the place to go. To build up a name, WWE’s the place to go. To make the most money possible, AEW’s the place to go. If it’s to have the best matches possible, AEW’s the place to go. If it’s to have the best schedule, AEW’s the place to go. It’s whatever he wants.

    WWE vs AEW for Okada

Okada has a serious choice to make about his future. It was further stated that if his objective is achieving fame, then WWE may be the right way to go. However, if the aim is financial success, then AEW has more money on the table.

When considering the impact on his body and seeking the easiest option, the decision becomes debatable. In the context of AEW, it involves a more demanding wrestling style with potentially fewer matches, making it a challenging prospect, but uncertainties remain. WWE may want Okada to wrestle more often, but they won’t be requiring epic matches from him each time.

There is also the matter of which company would push him more. The decision-making process for Okada is anticipated to conclude shortly.

“If the thing is where you’re likely gonna be pushed more, generally speaking, if one company offers you more than the other, generally that means that they have a higher opinion of you and will probably push you harder. So if you’re looking for where you’re most likely gonna get the best push, probably AEW.

SE Scoops will have more coverage of Okada’s decision about his pro wrestling future. He will sign with another company, because he is years away from considering retirement at this point. The 36-year-old megastar has a huge decision ahead of him.

  • Tony Khan Set to Make “Big Announcement” On 2/7 Episode of AEW Dyanmite

AEW President Tony Khan will have something big to share with fans during next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

On this week’s episode of Dynamite, it was quietly shared that Khan will make a “big announcement” on the upcoming show. No details were given as to what this announcement will entail.

Fans have already been speculating about what Khan’s announcement could be. Some believe it could be confirmation that Mercedes Mone has signed with AEW. Khan is expected to land Mone after talks with WWE broke down over money.  Some fans have suggested it will be the announcement of new AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles. Some more cynical fans have suggested the announcement will be that an announcement will be made at AEW Revolution next month, poking fun at Khan’s perchance for announcing plans.

    Tony Khan’s Big Announcements

This won’t be the first time Khan has had an announcement lined up, and it likely won’t be the last. Previous announcements include the reveal of All In in London, as well as the announcement of the date tickets go on sale for this year’s show.

Khan was also on hand to announce the launch of Collision, and the post-suspension return of CM Punk. The AEW Continental Classic was also announced by Khan, as have other important aspects of the product.

    AEW Dynamite – February 7

Khan’s announcement isn’t the only confirmed news for next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. The show will also see Chris Jericho face off against Don Callis family member Konosuke Takeshita.

Sting and Darby Allin will challenge Ricky Starks & Big Bill for the AEW World Tag Team Championships. With Sting’s career ending at Revolution on March 5, this could likely be the final championship opportunity for the Icon. The February 7, episode of AEW Dynamite will take place in Phoenix, Arizona.

News of this announcement comes mere days after a previous announcement by Tony Khan…

  • Wardlow Gives Health Update After Injury Scare On 1/31 AEW Dynamite

The Undisputed Kingdom’s Wardlow has provided an update after concerns that he suffered an injury during this week’s episode of Dynamite.

Wardlow was accompanied by his faction allies for his match with Komander, and this wasn’t the typical squash match we’ve seen from Mr. Mayhem in the past.

When Wardlow set Komander up for a powerbomb, however, he staggered and it seemed like his right knee had given in. Wardlow was able to hit the move but still seemed to be in pain. Post-match, he appeared bothered by the knee and was slightly limping while muttering to himself.

    Wardlow Gives An Update

Taking to Twitter after his match, Wardlow said that while a normal man’s knee would be destroyed by the match, he is anything but normal. Wardlow (who was called Mr. Wardlow by the announcer during Dynamite, added that he remains committed to winning the AEW World Championship, before reiterating that his knee is fine.

    Wardlow’s Previous Injury

Wardlow was lucky to avoid a serious injury on this week’s Dynamite, but that hasn’t always been the case for the three-time TNT Champion. In January of last year, it was reported that Wardlow had suffered an injury, though specifics were not given. Due to the injury, Wardlow wouldn’t wrestle on AEW programming for over two months before making his return to the ring at Revolution 2023, where he won the TNT Championship from Samoa Joe. His reign would end days later when he lost the title to Powerhouse Hobbs.

Could Wardlow’s career benefit from a change of scenery when the time is right…

  • Gypsy Rose Blanchard Spotted With AEW Champion Before Dynamite In New Orleans

You never know who will show up at an AEW event, and this week is no exception. AEW Dynamite is in New Orleans this week, and they had a very special guest around.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard Is Absolutely All Elite

Gypsy Rose Blanchard continues to show off her interest for pro wrestling. An All In poster was spotted at her house, as seen in a Christmas photo, and now it seems that she is getting to know one top star on Tony Khan’s roster.

It looks like Gypsy attended AEW Dynamite, and she got a VIP treatment. She posted a photo with Ricky Starks, who had the AEW World Tag Team Title in his hand, as they posed for an Absolute photo-op.

Gypsy was released early from prison on December 28th after serving seven years for the second-degree murder charge of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. The Gypsy Rose Blanchard case attracted widespread attention due to the complex and unusual circumstances surrounding her mother’s murder. It resulted in several documentaries and an adaptation of her life story as a Hulu miniseries titled “The Act.”

Other Pro Wrestling Connection With Gypsy Rose Blanchard

Following her parole approval earlier this year, Gypsy Rose Blanchard was released from the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri, she had a very interesting ride on her way to freedom.

After she served seven years for her involvement in her mother’s killing, Gypsy Rose was retrieved by her new husband. The car he drove was rocked a wrestling-themed Bret Hart license plate bearing the inscription “HITMAN.”

This Hitman connection made headlines, due to the circumstances around her mother’s death. However, pro wrestling cans can’t help but wonder if the connections inside our bubble will continue as Gypsy starts making more public appearances.

  • Samoa Joe’s Notorious ‘Nope’ Walk Away Spot Explained

Samoa Joe’s Notorious ‘Nope’ Walk Away Spot Explained

Samoa Joe doesn’t tend to walk away from a fight, but from a high-flyer? Sign him up. During a recent interview with veteran journalist Justin Barrasso for Sports Illustrated, Joe was asked about a notorious spot he’s done in matches since his early days in the ring.

Whenever an opponent climbs the top rope and goes for an aerial assault, he casually walks out of the vicinity of the attack and leaves his foe looking foolish. Joe gave some common sense reasoning as to why he’s implemented such a magical moment in the ring.

“As a small youth in my younger days, if I saw something large or very destructive coming toward me, it was only natural to step aside,” said Joe. “It’s not rocket science.”

Joe says the inspiration behind the fan favorite spot draws from the early days of mankind.

“The cavemen understood this, too,” said Joe. “If you see a rock coming toward you from the top of the hill, move a little to the left.”

While he’s done the “nope” countless times in matches, a recent moment in AEW went viral during a squash match where Joe walked away and the talent was caught mid-air with a “WTF” expression on his face.

It’s not just enhancement talent who falls prey to Joe’s “walk away.” CM Punk became just another victim of Joe’s casual decision-making during his AEW matches with his long-time rival.

Just two weeks ago, Samoa Joe had his first successful title defense when he choked out Hook in the main event of AEW Dynamite.

  • Adam Copeland Calls Christian Cage A “Bond Villain”

Adam Copeland may be at odds with Christian Cage on AEW television, but the former Edge appreciates what his best buddy is doing.

Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Copeland commented on Cage’s run as an ultimate heel and noted why the current TNT Champion is so good at what he does.

“He does this so well because he wants to be one,” said Copeland. “Somewhere along the way, that’s got lost. Heels became cooler than the babyface. That’s not how it should be. That’s not how he sees it, either. I mean, the man wears a cut-off turtleneck. There’s nothing cool about what he’s doing.

“He’s fully committed to it. He’s a Bond villain and loving it. It’s fun to be involved with.”

Copeland finally crossed pathes with Cage not just on AEW Dynamite but World’s End where the WWE Hall Of Famer actually defeated Cage for the TNT Championship, but quickly lost it back to Killswitch, who won a battle royal earlier in the evening. The belt went back to Cage who continues his heelish run.

Adam Copeland On AEW Being Different: “I Want More Choices”

When it comes to AEW being an alternative than WWE, Copeland pulled from his own fandom as a kid and getting access to different territories in wrestling.

“I remember growing up and dying to be able to get my hands on NWA tapes. It didn’t air where I lived, where there was WWF. I found International Wrestling from Montreal. I found All Star Wrestling from Vancouver. I found all these other shows, and I loved that. I’d get little snippets of guys I’d only seen in magazines. Then the show Pro Wrestling Plus with Ed Whalen, who was the announcer for Stampede, started, and I finally got to see wrestlers from the NWA and Continental. I just thought, give it all to me.”

  • Wrestling Bryan Danielson was therapeutic for Ricky Starks

Wrestling Bryan Danielson was therapeutic for Ricky Starks

All Elite Wrestling superstar Ricky Starks thinks fondly of his highly praised No Disqualification Strap Match with Bryan Danielson at AEW All Out on September 3, 2022. Fans loved the match, and Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer awarded him five stars.

In an interview with Forbes, Starks gives his perspective on his brutal contest against ‘The American Dragon.’ Admittedly, the AEW Tag Team Champion didn’t expect the overwhelmingly positive reaction he received for his match.

Forbes’ Blake Oestriecher transcribed the following quotes.

“It was cool that people reacted the way they did. I was blown away by it because I didn’t expect that type of reaction,” said Starks. He continued,  “It was nice that someone thought highly enough to give it that rating. I thought that was pretty cool.”

While Starks took on Danielson at the event, the company was building towards CM Punk being his challenger. However, the company fired CM Punk due to a backstage incident ahead of the event, and they decided to pivot to Danielson as Stark’s opponent at AEW All Out.

Starks shared in the interview that he felt unsure of himself ahead of the Danielson match and why his match at AEW All Out was important to him.

“It was really a very therapeutic type of match for me,” said Starks. He explained, “My confidence had wavered up until that point just a little bit, and that really made me think, alright, this is where things start to pick up. Talk about putting the company on my shoulders and wanting to be the man, and I think I proved it.”

Ricky Starks On Being Praised By Bryan Danielson After Their Match

Although fans praised the match, the biggest compliment came from Danielson. After their match at AEW All Out, ‘The American Dragon’ credited Starks for his efforts and called him a star. The comments meant a lot to the AEW Tag Team Champion, and he was honored that Danielson thought highly of his performance.

“…The best part about that was the high compliment that Bryan gave me in that press conference afterward,” said Starks. He added, “Him saying that I’m one of his favorite opponents, that really means a lot. The fact that he said that was a badge of honor. Like, I know I belong.”

Although Starks lost the No Disqualification Strap Match, he earned many fans and Danielson’s respect that night. The stars may currently be involved in different storylines, but it’s possible they will face off in the ring again in the future.

  • MJF Appearing In Jewish Summer Camp Comedy ‘Floaters’

MJF Appearing In Jewish Summer Camp Comedy ‘Floaters’

MJF no longer possesses his prized ‘Triple B’ AEW World Championship, but he’s wasting no time building up his resume in Hollywood. Following his work on screen and Executive Producing The Iron Claw, Maxwell Jacob Friedman will be returning to the big screen soon,

Deadline reports the 27-year-old wrestling prodigy will appear in the upcoming comedy film Floaters. The film also stars Jackie Tohn of GLOW, Sarah Podemski of Reservoir Dogs, Steve Guttenberg of Police Academy and former WWE Raw guest host Seth Green.

According to Deadline, the movie “follows struggling musician Nomi (Tohn) who accepts a last-resort job from her overachiever best friend Mara (Podemski): mentoring misfit campers, the “Floaters,” at their childhood Jewish summer camp. As the camp struggles to survive amidst competition with a longtime rival, Nomi, the Floaters, and Mara must overcome their differences to bring the community together and save the camp.”

The film recently finished filming in MJF’s backyard of New York City.

    More about Floaters

Director Rachel Israel spoke about how The Floaters made certain to cast people of the Jewish faith.

“We are very proud to say that The Floaters boasts Jewish actors cast in virtually every role – allowing for an authentic portrayal and celebration of the diversity within modern Jewish communities. The Floaters resists tired cliches often attributed in the media to embrace a rich culture and explore multidimensional Jewish characters.”

There is no word as to a release date of the film or the specific role MJF will be playing, but the former champ is fresh off a very brief cameo in “The Iron Claw” as notorious faux Von Erich relative, Lance Von Erich.

MJF last appeared on television at December’s World’s End pay-per-view, where he lost the World Championship to Samoa Joe.

  • Kazuchika Okada Believed To Be Leaning Towards One Company In Particular

Kazuchika Okada is going to be a free agent on Groundhog’s Day, and if one were to go by the 1993 movie with Bill Murray by that very name, one major wrestling company wants to tell “The Rainmaker” “I got you, babe.”

It was revealed on January 30 that Okada’s merchandise on Pro Wrestling Tees had been removed from the website and it led many to wonder what that could mean for the NJPW legend. Considering that PWTees has a strong relationship with AEW, the initial thought may be this is a sign that Okada is WWE bound, however, a new report from PWInsider thinks otherwise.

According to Mike Johnson, Okada evidently has a strong relationship with Matt and Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks and due to that, his sources lead him to believe that The Rainmaker will eventually become All Elite.

Okada’s agent happens to be pro wrestling super agent Barry Bloom. Bloom also represents The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Hangman Page and recent AEW signee Will Ospreay. Ospreay didn’t spend long at all on the free agent market and AEW was quick to ink him to a deal.

While Okada will be a free agent on Tuesday, he still has a major obligation to finish up with NJPW. On February 11, he’ll be facing off against long-time rivl and current NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi. Tanahashi has recently stated he wants to become the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion once again and additionally, has big plans for NJPW moving forward.

  • House of Black Responds To Claims Of Not Doing Jobs In AEW

In a recent segment on Wrestling Observer Radio, wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer highlighted the possibility of two current AEW roster members making a move to the Stamford-based promotion WWE.

Meltzer identified Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews as the two wrestlers who could potentially transition to WWE. Both Black and Matthews are presently associated with the House of Black faction, alongside Brody King and Julia Hart, within AEW.

The wrestling journalist was talking about the recent cage match between House of Black and Daniel Garcia & FTR on Saturday’s episode of Collision. The fight was originally announced as an Elimination bout but later changed to an Escape the cage match. Meltzer implied that the change was due to the House of Black not wanting to be pinned during the bout:

“[…] Malakai Black never does jobs, and when this was going on and I am watching this, one of the things I was thinking watching this is like, these freaking House of Black guys never do jobs. And here is the other thing. I was thinking what if they win this match and they are just going, like, two of those three guys are going to the WWE.”

Meltzer also remarked that both wrestlers are reluctant to take losses as they aim to maintain the strong image of their characters once they become free agents. He questioned why AEW continues to book them strongly when they are expected to leave for WWE.

“I mean, they are going. As soon as they can go, they are gone. Even though they were treated like shit in the WWE, and they never do jobs here, and they are still going back to the WWE. And my thought is kinda like, why do you keep putting them over when you know they are leaving?”

    House of Black Responds

Multiple members of the faction took exception to these comments from Meltzer and reacted on social media. Matthews responded to Meltzer’s remarks with a picture of his AEW stats, stating that Dave lacked research skills.

“For a ‘Reporter,’ he doesn’t know much or do ANY research! Lol,” he commented.

The attached image displayed Matthew’s career stats in AEW, revealing that in 2024, he won one match and lost three. Overall, in his career, he won 25 matches and lost 13. These figures contradict Meltzer’s statement, as Matthews has indeed lost a considerable number of matches, if not the majority:

Brody King explained that the format of the match was always going to be Escape The Cage. Will Washington, who works as a coordinator for AEW came to his support confirming the reason for the graphic change:

While the wrestling journalist has not responded to these remarks from the AEW stars, this discourse seems to be far from over. Stay tuned for more updates on the situation

  • Kevin Nash Praises AEW Star Jon Moxley: “He’s The Only One That Gets It On That Show.”

Kevin Nash Praises AEW Star Jon Moxley: “He’s The Only One That Gets It On That Show.”

Wrestling legend Kevin Nash believes former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley is in a different class than everyone else in All Elite Wrestling.

The nWo founder spoke about AEW on the latest episode of his Kliq This podcast. Nash acknowledged he’s gotten heat for not watching AEW, but was able to watch last week’s AEW Dynamite due to a shift in his schedule.

Nash didn’t hold back while reviewing each match and segment of the show along with co-host Sean Oliver. He took issue with several creative decisions, but one segment in particular left him wanting more.

Jon Moxley brings realism to AEW

According to Nash, Jon Moxley’s pre-recorded backstage promo was the best part of the entire show. He’s seen it all throughout his legendary career and knows talent when he sees it. AEW has a lot of talented wrestlers, but Nash says Moxley is the only one who comes across like it’s real.

“There was a promo he cut a couple weeks ago where he was bloody and he was talking s*** about all the different, uh, belts that are out there and ‘he lost and he didn’t get one tonight.’ And it’s just like..

Moxley gets it. I think Moxley’s the only one that gets it on that show and he owns it. He comes across f******, like, real.”

Nash mentioned how bummed he was that that particular segment was the only thing Moxley was in the entire night. Elsewhere on the show, Nash appreciated the presentation of AEW World Champion Samoa Joe, but felt that HOOK came across as minor league due to the way he was dressed.

Moxley has been with AEW since the beginning and has stepped up for the company countless times throughout tumultuous times.

  • Updated Timeframe For Mercedes Mone’s Return to Wrestling

Updated Timeframe For Mercedes Mone’s Return to Wrestling

WWE lost Mercedes Mone and Trinity when they walked out of the company in May 2022. Since then, Naomi made her return to WWE during the 2024 Royal Rumble after a successful stint in TNA. Sasha Banks, on the other hand, has not returned. Now, the latest update casts even more doubt that will happen.

    Update On Mercedes Mone’s Future

Mercedes Mone is no longer under any pro wrestling contract. That brought up big rumors about her WWE return, but it appears she is expected to appear elsewhere now.

There have been many developments for Mone over the past few months. Her NJPW contract expired, and she was free to discuss her future with another company, and that included WWE.

Although Mone and WWE were talking about her return, they seem to have hit a roadblock. Now, it is no longer anticipated that fans will see her WWE comeback, because another company is expected to snag her.

To provide an update on the situation, PW Insider has reported that Mercedes Mone will be back working in pro wrestling by March and “not for WWE.” This may disappoint some WWE fans, but at least she will be seen soon enough.

Although it was not explicitly stated, the current thought is that Mercedes Mone is going to end up in AEW. That debut has obviously not happened yet. AEW Revolution will take place on March 3rd in the Greensboro Coliseum. The event will see Sting’s final match, but it may also include Mercedes Mone’s debut for the company if this report lines up.

    What’s Next For Mercedes Mone

Mercedes Mone just registered trademarks for, what could be, a clothing line. She has other options in the entertainment industry, as her acting career could see more credits than the Mandalorian down the line.

Bayley may believe that her story with Mercedes Mone will live on forever, but the former Sasha Banks is not making a return to WWE at this point. It will be interesting to see if her road brings her back to the company, but that isn’t happening this time around.

  • Title Match for AEW Revolution Made Official, Updated Card

Title Match for AEW Revolution Made Official, Updated Card

We’re six weeks away from AEW’s first pay-per-view of the year. Revolution will be the home of Sting’s final match. Matches have steadily been added to the show.

Since the Undisputed Kingdom were revealed as The Devil and The Devil’s Masked Men, they’ve made it clear that they’re on the hunt for gold. Matt Taven and Mike Bennett have a head start with the ROH Tag Team Championships. Roderick Strong has his sights set on the International Championship.

Last week following Cassidy’s match, Strong let Cassidy know that he wanted to wrestle him for the title. The champ was ready to go right then and there, but in true heel fashion, Strong wanted to wait. Weeks. He named the time and place: Revolution

The Undisputed Kingdom left the ring before getting an answer. During a backstage segment, Renee Paquette asked Cassidy what his reaction was. He replied, “my reaction is…okay. I will wrestle you, Roddy for my International Championship at Revolution on March 3.”

Orange Cassidy hasn’t defended his title on a pay-per-view since Full Gear. Since his match with Strong is six weeks away, he wants to continue defending his title. In his segment with Paquette that he asked Tony to “get some of my friends, some of my enemies, some like, friends and enemies. • AEW Star’s Expected In-Ring Return Not Happening Soon

AEW Star’s Expected In-Ring Return Not Happening Soon

AEW fans are all too familiar with the idea of wrestler injuries at this point. Although there was hope that Fenix may be returning soon, that doesn’t seem to be the case. The famous luchador still has some recovery time before he can make a full return to the ring.

    Fenix’s Injury

Concerns about Rey Fenix surfaced after WrestleDream, where he had a brief appearance in the AEW World Tag Team Fatal-Four Way Number One Contender Match and was taken backstage during the event. Fenix later took to Twitter, mentioning he was grappling with an “old injury” but had initially intended to defend the AEW International Championship.

Despite holding the title at the time, he worked two matches, including losing the championship to Orange Cassidy on October 10th. Since then, he has not participated in any matches and was withdrawn from an independent show scheduled for January 5.

    Hope Of Fenix’s Return

In a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, the AEW star described it as the most severe injury in his career but expressed optimism about a swift return.

However, according to Dave Meltzer’s latest report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, despite Fenix appearing on television with Penta recently, he is significantly battered and not anticipated to make a quick return.

Even though Rey Fenix was on television with Penta last week, he’s pretty banged up and not expected back that soon

AEW has a list of injured talent that seems to be growing every week. We will have to see when Fenix can make it back to the ring, where he may have a Death Triangle reunion waiting for him if Tony Khan can make things work.

  • AEW Expected To Land Two Major Free Agent Signings

AEW is well aware of the free agent market right now, and Tony Khan intends to remain a player for big contracts. It appears that All Elite Wrestling is very close to locking down two deals that could be incredibly important for the company’s future.

    AEW’s Reported New Signings

In terms of Kazuchika Okada and Mercedes Mone, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that there is a belief that both will start with AEW soon. Mone is anticipated to have a substantial debut, with an announcement expected shortly. Despite negotiating with WWE, her return to AEW was anticipated for several months, even predating her appearance at Wembley, where she had to appear while seated due to her still-recovering ankle injury. However, until the contract is finalized, nothing is definite due to significant differences in financial terms.

As for Okada, the latest information indicates that he has not yet made a final decision. Speculation among various individuals ranges from hopefulness to a degree of confidence regarding his potential arrival. If Okada were to sign, the probable start would align with the Greensboro show, with his final New Japan date set for February 24th. In the event of a WWE signing, it could potentially be postponed until WrestleMania.

Regarding Kazuchika Okada and Mercedes Mone, the belief from this side is that both will be starting soon. Mone was doing acting work, but there is talk her debut will be played up extremely big and that announcement could be soon. She has been back training to return to the ring.

    What’s Next

It’s noteworthy that Tony Khan has expressed particular enthusiasm for 2024, anticipating new signings and returns in the coming months, including MJF, Adam Cole, Kenny Omega, Bandido, Rey Fenix, Pac, and Britt Baker. As of this writing, MJF is still believed by many within the business to be under AEW contract.

Tony Khan has some big plans for 2024, and he is very excited about the possibilities. They’ve brought big names into AEW before, but signing Okada and the former Sasha Banks to deals would be a great way to start this year in the Land of All Elite.

Darby Allin Shuns Valuable Advice From Ric Flair

AEW superstar Darby Allin recently revealed that he isn’t listening to pro wrestling legend Ric Flair’s advice.

Allin has a reputation for involving himself in high-risk spots in his matches. He has captivated the fans with his dangerous stunts that thrill the fans. However, suffering career-threatening injuries look inevitable. He has suffered injuries from time to time but that isn’t stopping him anytime soon.

Pro wrestling takes a toll on the physical health of the performers and it is no secret. Veterans of the business have dealt with complications at the latter stage of life and WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, who has experienced the same, shared a piece of advice for Allin.

Darby Allin won’t listen to Ric Flair

During a recent interview with Rock 106.1, Darby Allin revealed that though he appreciates Ric Flair’s advice to slow down he won’t listen to him. Allin says that he feels good physically and doesn’t see himself stopping. He said:

“Ric Flair, a couple weeks ago, he came up to me and is like, ‘Darby, you need to slow down.’ I’m like, ‘Wait, what?’ ‘You’re crazier than Mick Foley.’ I’m like, ‘Getting advice from Ric Flair?’ What’s funny is, people don’t know how great I feel physically. I feel amazing, like nothing hurts.“

“DDP also, he’s like, ‘We have to put you in a lab. They have to test you out and see what’s going on because you’re not human.’ I feel amazing. I won’t stop doing it. Sorry for anybody trying to give me advice, all the people out there telling me to slow down. I can’t and I won’t.”

Darby Allin and his tag team partner ‘The Icon’ Sting have their sights set on the AEW Tag Team Championships. On the latest edition of AEW Dynamite, the duo challenged the champs Big Bill and Ricky Starks, who eventually accepted the challenge.

  • Anthony Ogogo Re-Signs With AEW

    Anthony Ogogo Re-Signs With AEW

Despite not being seen on AEW television for a long time, the company has re-signed one of it’s stars during the COVID-19 era.

Anthony Ogogo revealed on the latest episode of AEW Restricted that he has signed a new deal with All Elite Wrestling and believes that Tony Khan has a lot of confidence in him as a star.

“There’s working there (on the independents) and there’s working AEW. So I’m in a weird situation now where I think there’s a lot of potential around me and Tony Khan has signed me and he’s re-signed me. So he obviously sees something in me and I have this aura which people haven’t got because they haven’t done what I’ve done in real life.”

Ogogo did make an appearance in his home country at AEW All In in London, but in a segment with Paul Wight and Grado. The former rival of Cody Rhodes questioned the prospect of working on the independents to get more experience, but also believes he’s ready for the main stage.

“I don’t wanna be patient… I don’t wanna be patient anymore. I wanna show my worth. I just wanna show what I can do… If I didn’t think I could deliver, I wouldn’t be saying this. But I know what I can do, I know what I have. I just wanna contribute.”

The former boxer admitted that his initial run in AEW hasn’t met his expectations, but realizes he has to put in the work.

“All I can do is work hard and give it my all and when the call comes, hopefully the call will come, to show up and turn up and that’s what I’m doing.”

  • Sting and Darby Allin Challenge For The AEW Tag Team Championships

Sting and Darby Allin Challenge For The AEW Tag Team Championships

We’re closing in on Sting’s final match and his opponent(s) are still technically up in the air. On the Homecoming episode of Dynamite, the Young Bucks returned and seemingly challenged Sting and Darby Allin for AEW Revolution. The match has yet to made official.

In the meantime, Allin and Sting have some important business to take care of. On Dynamite, Allin told a story of how he flew to Texas when Sting signed with AEW. He wrestled Sting in his own ring that he has in his garage. Within minutes, he told the veteran he still had it. After winning 27 matches together, Allin confirms that “The Icon” still has it.

Allin pointed out that the rankings are back and thus they are the number one contenders for the tag team titles. Allin asked Sting if he wanted to end his career as tag team champions. Sting replied that he was “all in!” (as an AEW ALL IN graphic was on the screen behind him).

Later in the night, Ricky Starks and Big Bill accepted their challenge. Starks pointed out that it was fitting that he would be facing them since Sting’s first match back was against himself and another partner (Brian Cage). “It’s very fitting that now, me and the best partner I have will be the end of you. You are not making it to Revolution, my man.”

The match has been made official for Wednesday, February 7 in Phoenix, Arizona.

  • Things Are Looking Up for Kenny Omega In Latest Diverticulitis Health Update

Things Are Looking Up for Kenny Omega In Latest Diverticulitis Health Update

Kenny Omega’s current situation is looking more positive according to the latest update on the former AEW World Champion.

Last month, Omega revealed that he would be out of action indefinitely and it was later reported that he was battling diverticulitis. Omega’s condition is so serious that Don Callis dropped his heel persona to wish his former client the very best in a message on social media.

    Good News for Kenny Omega

Earlier this week, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer said that Omega is in a painful situation and that people are taking a wait-and-see approach at this time. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that Kenny Omega’s recent treatment included antibiotic treatments, which seem to be effective.

“I was told that one of the things with Kenny’s deal was that they had to pump him full of antibiotics. Apparently, the antibiotics are working. So he may still need surgery but the last report that I got, which was 20 minutes ago, was that things were looking up and that he was doing a lot better and hopefully going to make a full recovery.”

    Diverticulitis: The Facts

Diverticulitis affects the large intestine and causes abdominal pain, which is why Omega mistook his situation for a hernia at first. It can be caused by diverticula, which are small, bulging pouches that can form in the lining of your digestive system.

Brock Lesnar and Shane McMahon have both suffered from diverticulitis in the past. Lesnar’s situation would result in surgery and UFC fights being postponed. He would go under the knife in November 2009 and would return to action in July 2010.

We here at SE Scoops are continuing to wish Omega a full and speedy recovery.

  • Adam Copeland Uses Three Words To Sum Up His Upcoming Match Against Minoru Suzuki

Adam Copeland Uses Three Words To Sum Up His Upcoming Match Against Minoru Suzuki

Aside from his friend turned enemy in Christian Cage, Adam Copeland has his toughest competition forthcoming this week on AEW Dynamite in Minoru Suzuki.

In light of the first-ever battle between two long-established veterans, Copeland took a moment to comment on the fight. AEW shared a clip of the former TNT Champion lamenting for his eagerness to step into the ring with a legend of NJPW.

“Minoru Suzuki vs. ‘The Rated R Superstar.’ Man, I get goosebumps just thinking about it. We are gonna beat the hell out of each other – two grizzly gnarled evil bastards beating eachother up and I can’t wait.

“Suzuki I know what you’re going to bring, I hope you know what I’m going to bring. I’m gonna sum this match up in three words for all of you. Grit your teeth.”

Minoru Suzuki has squared up against several top stars in AEW including Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston and current AEW World Champion Samoa Joe.  Back at Forbidden Door, Suzuki also stood across the ring from a different WWE Hall of Famer in Sting as he teamed up with Jericho and Sammy Guevara to battle The Icon, Darby Allin and Tetsuya Naito in trios action.

AEW Dynamite this week sure has a stacked card on Wednesday. Not only do fans get Copeland vs. Suzuki, but will get to see Swerve Strickland vs. Jeff Hardy and Hangman Page take on Penta El Zero Miedo in singles action. Additionally, the aforementioned Sting and Darby Allin will be in attendance

  • CM Punk Reportedly Used Political Leverage In AEW To End Longstanding Company Tradition

CM Punk Reportedly Used Political Leverage In AEW To End Longstanding Company Tradition

AEW is bringing back their weekly ranking system, something that some fans really missed. Now, fans who love stats will have something else to comb through every week. It seems that the disappearance of that ranking system was to blame on CM Punk.

Why AEW Nixed Their Ranking System The First Time

In the early years of AEW, a ranking system was employed to determine upcoming championship matches in each division. However, it disappeared in the final months of 2022.

CM Punk had significant backstage influence over certain aspects of AEW while he was with the company. This included things going away, and one of those things was the AEW rankings, which vanished during his tenure with the company.

During the Bryan & Vinny Show, Bryan Alvarez reported that he was told it was Punk’s idea was to eliminate the rankings. He apparently had a discussion with Tony Khan about them, and then they were gone

“These f*cking rankings. Do you know whose idea it was to get rid of the rankings? I was told it was CM Punk. He talked Tony into getting rid of the rankings.”

CM Punk also got to pick his roster for AEW Collision. He had say-so in which talent AEW brought in for the show as well, and he could ban talent from the company’s Saturday night show as well. This is why the Collision roster was loaded with his friends, a practice that remained until his AEW release.

    After CM Punk’s AEW Release

Following a discipline committee, consisting of Bryan Danielson and two attorneys, AEW terminated Punk due to a backstage altercation with Jack Perry at All In 2023. This decision came after Punk’s All Out brawl with The Elite the previous year and various backstage issues. It did not take Punk long until he returned to WWE after his AEW release.

Now, it appears that Tony Khan is bringing back his ranking system. Interestingly enough, this is coming during a time when he has received a significant spotlight due to his reliance on CageMatch rankings.
